Resin and method for manufacturing the same

Abstract

A higher refractive index in an optical material allows for a thinner optical lens to achieve the same level of correction. This means that the higher the refractive index of the optical material, the thinner and lighter the lens can be manufactured, enabling miniaturization of various devices that use lenses. Generally, however, a higher refractive index in an optical material results in a lower Abbe's number, and a certain level of transparency is required for use as an optical material. [Solution] This application relates to a resin containing a unit of chemical formula 1, a method for producing the same, a resin composition containing the same, and a molded article containing the resin composition.
