Abstract

[Configuration] This bioreactor system comprises a cell culture vessel having a first end and a second end, at least one storage section between the first end and the second end, and a cell culture matrix provided within the at least one storage section. In this bioreactor system, the cell culture matrix structurally defines a culture bed composed of multiple layers of woven fabric having a structure that allows cells to adhere to its surface, and this culture bed is a wrapped structure placed within the at least one storage section, and the multiple layers of woven fabric of the culture bed are not separated by spacer material. The system also provides a bioreactor system in which the cell culture matrix has a woven fabric cell culture bed with no other solid materials between the adjacent surfaces of the cell culture bed.
