Abstract

This disclosure relates to a method for illuminating an environment, a corresponding system, and a computer program product that enables a computer system to perform such a method. The method includes the following steps: estimating the position and / or orientation of an object in an area; and controlling the selection of a plurality of lighting devices to illuminate a partial area based on the estimated position and / or orientation of the object in the area. Furthermore, the method includes determining the level of accuracy of the estimated position and / or orientation of the object; and controlling the complementary selection of a plurality of lighting devices to illuminate a complementary partial area, depending on the determined level of accuracy of the estimated position and / or orientation of the object.
