Abstract
Description
[Technical field]
[0001] The present invention relates to a coolant injection device that injects a coolant supplied from a spindle of a machine tool. [Background technology]
[0002] In a machine tool that performs cutting processing of a metal workpiece, a tool holder that can be attached to the main shaft (called a "spindle") of the machine tool is used. When machining a workpiece with a tool, a cooling medium such as oil must be sprayed onto the cutting edge of the tool to lubricate the workpiece and the tool, cool the workpiece and the tool, and remove (clean) chips (sometimes called "swarf") generated during machining. For this reason, a tool holder is used that is provided with a cooling medium injection mechanism that passes the cooling medium supplied from the main shaft of the machine tool and injects it onto the cutting edge of the tool. In order to stably inject the cooling medium, a tool holder is used that is provided with a cooling medium injection mechanism that is constituted by a pump having a rotating part connected to the main shaft, as disclosed in Patent Document 1 (JP Patent Publication 62-4550). [Prior art documents] [Patent documents]
[0003] [Patent Document 1] Japanese Patent Application Publication No. 62-4550 Summary of the Invention [Problem to be solved by the invention]
[0004] The pressure of the cooling medium supplied from the spindle of a general machine tool is not enough to sufficiently remove the chips generated during machining of the workpiece by the cooling medium sprayed from the cooling medium spray mechanism installed in the tool holder, and also cannot sufficiently remove the burrs generated during machining of the workpiece. For this reason, after machining the workpiece, the worker had to remove any chips or burrs remaining on the workpiece (removal work). Here, it is conceivable that the effect of removing chips and burrs can be improved by increasing the pressure of the cooling medium injected from a cooling medium injection mechanism provided on the tool holder. In order to increase the pressure of the cooling medium sprayed from the cooling medium spraying mechanism provided on the tool holder, it is necessary to increase the pressure of the cooling medium supplied from the spindle of the machine tool. However, in order to increase the pressure of the cooling medium supplied from the spindle of the machine tool, the machine tool needs to be designed to high pressure specifications, which becomes very expensive. In addition, as disclosed in Patent Document 1, a tool holder provided with a cooling medium injection mechanism constituted by a pump having a rotating part connected to a spindle may be used, and the pressure of the cooling medium injected from the cooling medium injection mechanism may be increased by increasing the rotation speed of the rotating part of the pump. However, the tool holder disclosed in Patent Document 1 injects a cooling medium onto the cutting edge of the tool while machining a workpiece with the tool held by the tool holder, and therefore there is a limit to how high the rotation speed of the tool holder can be increased. Furthermore, in the tool holder disclosed in Patent Document 1, the injection holes of the cooling medium injection mechanism rotate together with the spindle. Therefore, the injection direction of the cooling medium injected from the injection holes is dispersed by centrifugal force, and the cooling medium cannot be injected in a concentrated manner at a predetermined location. In other words, the cooling medium cannot be injected in a concentrated manner at locations where chips are likely to remain or burrs are likely to occur. The present invention has been devised in consideration of the above points, and has an object to provide a cooling medium injection device that can increase the pressure of the cooling medium supplied from the spindle of a machine tool and can intensively spray the pressurized cooling medium at a specified location. [Means for solving the problem]
[0005] The cooling medium injection device of the present invention includes a main body, a support, a pump, a cap, a nozzle, an anti-rotation device, and a force detection device. The main body is detachably attached to the spindle of the machine tool. The main body has a main body passage through which a cooling medium supplied from the spindle passes when the main body is attached to the spindle. Various known methods can be used to attach the main body to the spindle. For example, a pull stud is attached to the rear end of the main body and retracted into the spindle. The support part is formed in a cylindrical shape having a support part inner space. The main body part is rotatably disposed in the support part inner space. The support part also has a first passage and a second passage through which a cooling medium passes. The first passage communicates with the main body part passage of the main body part. Various methods can be used to communicate the first passage with the main body part passage. The pump has a rotating part, a suction part, and a discharge part. The rotating part of the pump is connected to the main body part and is rotatably arranged in the support part inner space of the support part. The suction part is connected to the first passage, and the discharge part is connected to the second passage. The pump increases the pressure of the cooling medium sucked in from the suction part by the rotation of the rotating part, and discharges the pressurized cooling medium from the discharge part. Pumps of various configurations can be used as the pump. The rotating part of the pump only needs to rotate in conjunction with the rotation of the main body part, and may be directly connected to the main body part or may be connected via another member. The cap is provided on one axial side (tip side) of the support portion relative to the pump so as to close the space inside the support portion. The cap also has a nozzle mounting hole to which the nozzle is attached and a cap passage communicating with the nozzle mounting hole. The nozzle has a nozzle passage having an injection hole formed therein, and is attached to the nozzle attachment hole of the cap such that the nozzle passage communicates with the nozzle attachment hole. In the present invention, the main body, which is disposed within the space inside the support, is rotatable relative to the support, and therefore includes a rotation-stop device that prevents the support from rotating around the main body when the main body is attached to the main shaft (when the pump is in operation). When the pump is operated, the rotation speed of the main shaft to which the main body (the rotating part of the pump) is attached is set so that the pressure of the cooling medium sprayed from the nozzle hole is sufficient to remove chips, burrs, etc. The anti-rotation device has a pressing member attached to the support part, and is configured such that, when the main body part is attached to the spindle, the pressing member comes into contact with an abutment part provided on the machine tool, thereby preventing the support part from rotating around the main body part. The force detection device has a force detection sensor. The force detection sensor outputs a force detection signal indicating the force with which the contact portion is pressed by the pressing member. As the force detection sensor, any of various known configurations of force detection sensors can be used. For example, a load cell having a strain generating body that deforms in proportion to the pressing force can be used. The force detection sensor may be provided on either the contact portion side (machine tool side) or the pressing member side (support portion side). The pressing state of the pressing member against the abutment portion, i.e., the operating state of the anti-rotation device, can be determined depending on whether the force indicated by the force detection signal output from the force detection sensor is within a normal range. For example, if the force indicated by the force detection signal is lower than the lower limit of the normal range, it can be determined that the force pressing the pressing member against the abutment portion has decreased. This makes it possible to easily determine the state of the cooling medium injection device (whether inspection, repair, replacement, etc. are necessary). The cooling medium injection device of the present invention can increase the pressure of the cooling medium supplied from the spindle of the machine tool to a pressure capable of removing chips and burrs generated during machining of the workpiece, and can intensively inject the cooling medium in a predetermined direction. Therefore, by using the cooling medium injection device of the present invention, it is possible to reliably remove chips and burrs remaining on the workpiece after machining work is performed using a tool, at low cost, with a simple configuration. In addition, the state of the cooling medium injection device can be easily determined. In another embodiment of the present invention, the main body is configured to be attached to the spindle by moving the main body toward the other axial side (rear end side) with respect to the spindle. The anti-rotation device has an elastic force generating portion provided on the support portion. The pressing member is movable in the axial direction relative to the support portion and is formed to be able to fit into a fitting portion provided on the machine tool. The pressing member may be, for example, a pin. The elastic force generating portion generates an elastic force that moves the pressing member toward the other axial side relative to the support portion. In the anti-rotation device, when the main body is attached to the spindle, the pressing member fits into the fitting portion and abuts against the wall surface of the fitting portion, which is the abutment portion, and moves to one side in the axial direction against the elastic force generated by the elastic force generating portion. The fitting hole is formed such that, when the pressing member is fitted into the fitting hole, the support portion is prevented from rotating around the main body. In this form of the anti-rotation device, the pressing member fits into the fitting hole and abuts (presses) against the wall surface of the fitting hole, preventing the support portion from rotating around the main body. In this embodiment, rotation of the support portion around the main body portion can be more reliably prevented. In another embodiment of the present invention, the anti-rotation device has an engagement portion and an engagement member. The engagement portion is provided on the main body. The engagement member is configured to move along the axial direction in conjunction with the pressing member and to be able to engage with the engagement portion provided on the main body. The anti-rotation device is configured such that when the main body is not attached to the spindle, the engagement member is disposed at an engagement position where it engages with the engagement portion, thereby preventing rotation of the main body relative to the support portion, and when the main body is attached to the spindle, the engagement member is disposed at a disengagement position where it is disengaged from the engagement portion, thereby allowing rotation of the main body relative to the support portion. In this embodiment, when the main body part is not attached to the main shaft, the main body part and the support part can be easily managed, and when the main body part is attached to the main shaft, the main body part, i.e., the rotating part of the pump connected to the main body part, can be rotated reliably. Here, the pressure of the cooling medium in the second passage of the support corresponds to the pressure of the cooling medium injected from the nozzle injection hole. Therefore, it is preferable to configure the device so that the pressure of the cooling medium in the second passage of the support can be determined. By determining the pressure of the cooling medium in the second passage of the support, the injection state of the cooling medium from the nozzle injection hole, i.e., the state of the cooling medium injection device, can be determined. In another embodiment of the present invention, the pressure of the cooling medium in the second passage of the support part acts as a force to move the pressing member to the other axial side (rear end side). The pressure of the cooling medium in the second passage of the support part may act directly or indirectly on the pressing member. The pump of the cooling medium injection device is configured to discharge a cooling medium having a predetermined pressure when a rotating part of the pump is rotated at a predetermined rotation speed. When the main body is attached to the main shaft and the main shaft (the rotating part of the pump) is not rotating, the force (pressing force) with which the pressing member presses the wall surface of the fitting part corresponds to the elastic force Fa generated by the elastic force generating part. That is, the force detection sensor outputs a force detection signal indicating the force (pressing force) Ga corresponding to the elastic force Fa. On the other hand, when the main body is attached to the main shaft and the main shaft (the rotating part of the pump) is rotating at a predetermined rotation speed, the force (pressing force) with which the pressing member presses the wall surface of the fitting part is the sum of the force (pressing force) Ga corresponding to the elastic force Fa generated by the elastic force generating part and the force (pressing force) Gb corresponding to the pressure T of the cooling medium in the second passage. That is, the force detection sensor outputs a force detection signal indicating the sum Gc (=Ga+Gb) of the force (pressing force) Ga corresponding to the elastic force Fa and the force (pressing force) Gb corresponding to the pressure T of the cooling medium. When the pump performance is degraded, the pressure T of the cooling medium in the second passage is reduced, and when the nozzle nozzle hole is clogged, the pressure T of the cooling medium in the second passage is increased. Therefore, it is possible to determine whether the pump performance is degraded or the nozzle nozzle hole is clogged, etc., based on the pressure T in the second passage. The pressure T of the cooling medium in the second passage can be determined based on the force detection signal output from the force detection sensor. For example, the pressure T of the cooling medium in the second passage can be determined based on the difference Gb (=Gc-Ga) between the force (pressure) Gc when the rotating part of the pump is rotating at a predetermined rotation speed and the force (pressure) Ga when the rotating part of the pump is stopped. In this embodiment, the state of the cooling medium injection device (whether or not inspection, repair, replacement, etc. is required) can be determined more reliably. In another embodiment of the present invention, the anti-rotation device has a transmission member that transmits the elastic force generated by the elastic force generating portion to the pressing member. The anti-rotation device is configured such that the pressure of the cooling medium in the second passage of the support portion is transmitted to the pressing member via the transmission member as a force that moves the pressing member to the other axial side (rear end side). In this embodiment, the pressure of the cooling medium in the second passage can be determined with a simple configuration. In another embodiment of the present invention, a transmission member is provided that is movable in the axial direction relative to the support portion and is capable of contacting the engagement member when the main body portion is attached to the main shaft. When the main body is attached to the spindle, the pressure of the cooling medium in the second passage of the support is transmitted to the pressing member via the transmission member and the engagement member as a force that moves the pressing member to the other axial side (rear end side). In this embodiment, the pressure of the cooling medium in the second passage can be determined with a simple configuration. Effect of the Invention
[0006] By using the cooling medium injection device of the present invention, the pressure of the cooling medium can be increased and the pressurized cooling medium can be concentrated and sprayed onto a specified location, making it possible to easily and reliably remove chips and burrs remaining on the workpiece after machining. DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENTS
[0008] DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENTS Hereinafter, an embodiment of a cooling medium injection device of the present invention will be described with reference to the drawings. In the following, the direction along the center line P of the cooling medium injection device will be referred to as the "axial direction", the side on which the nozzles are arranged (the direction of arrow A (right side) in Figures 1, 5 and 10) will be referred to as the "tip side" or "axial tip side", and the side opposite the side on which the nozzles are arranged (the side on which the main body member is arranged) (the direction of arrow B (left side) in Figures 1, 5 and 10) will be referred to as the "rear end side" or "axial rear end side".
[0009] A first embodiment of a cooling medium injection device of the present invention will be described with reference to FIGS. Fig. 1 is a cross-sectional view of a cooling medium injection device 100 of the first embodiment, and Fig. 2 is a partially enlarged view of a main part of Fig. 1. Fig. 3 is a diagram explaining an operation of attaching the cooling medium injection device 100 of the first embodiment to a machine tool 10. Fig. 4 is a diagram showing a state in which the cooling medium injection device 100 of the first embodiment is attached to the machine tool 10.
[0010] The cooling medium injection device 100 of the first embodiment has a main body, a support, a cap 170, a nozzle 180, a pump 200, an anti-rotation device 300, and a force detection device.
[0011] The main body is composed of a main body member 110 and an adapter 130 . The main body member 110 has a shank portion 112 at its rear end that is attached to the spindle 20 of the machine tool 10. A main body member outer peripheral surface portion 112a corresponding to the shank portion 112 is formed into a tapered surface that is inclined so that the outer diameter becomes smaller from the front end side toward the rear end side. The tapered surface of the main body member outer peripheral surface portion 112a is formed so as to be capable of taper-fitting with a tapered surface of a spindle inner peripheral surface portion 21a of the spindle 20 of the machine tool 10, which will be described later. The main body member 110 also has an engagement hole 113 with which a rotation prevention lever 340 provided on a cover 150, which will be described later, can be engaged. Moreover, the main body member 110 has a main body member passage 111 extending axially toward the center side. The main body member passage 111 is formed so that the cooling medium supplied from the spindle 20 passes through it when the shank portion 112 of the main body member 110 is attached to the spindle 20. Filter 115 is disposed in main body member passage 111 and removes foreign matter contained in the cooling medium passing through main body member passage 111. As filter 115, various known filters capable of removing foreign matter contained in the cooling medium can be used.
[0012] The adapter 130 is attached to the tip side of the main body member 110. In this embodiment, a rear end portion of the adapter 130 is inserted into the main body member passage 111 of the main body member 110 from the tip side of the main body member 110 and screwed together. In addition, a tip side portion of the adapter 130 protrudes from the tip side end face of the main body member 110. A seal member such as an O-ring is disposed between the main body member 110 and the adapter 130. The adapter 130 has an adapter passage 131 through which the cooling medium passes. In this embodiment, the adapter passage 131 has a first passage portion extending along the axial direction and a second passage portion connected to the tip side of the first passage portion and extending along the radial direction. The rear end side of the first passage portion communicates with the main body member passage 111, and the second passage portion opens to the outer circumferential surface of the tip side portion of the adapter 130. The body member 110 and the adapter 130 form the "body portion" of the present invention, and the body member passage 111 and the adapter passage 131 form the "body portion passage" of the present invention.
[0013] The support portion rotatably supports the main body portion (main body member 110, adapter 130) and a rotating portion of pump 200. The support portion is composed of a cover 150, a case 160, and a ring member 190.
[0014] The body member 110 is rotatably disposed within the cover inner space of the cover 150 via a bearing 151. This allows the body member 110 to rotate relative to the cover 150. The cover 150 has a hole 152 that extends along the axial direction at a position separated in the radial direction (direction perpendicular to the axial direction) from the cover inner space in which the main body member 110 is disposed, and is open at the rear end side. A rotation-stop pin 310 is inserted in the hole 152 so as to be movable along the extension direction of the hole 152. The rotation-stop pin 310 has a hole 311 that extends along the axial direction and is open at the tip side. A spring 320 is disposed between a bottom wall 311 a of the hole 311 and a bottom wall 152 a of the hole 152 . The elastic force of spring 320 acts to move anti-rotation pin 310 axially toward the rear end. That is, the elastic force of spring 320 applies a force to anti-rotation pin 310 to move it in a direction to come out of hole 152 (toward the rear end).
[0015] A detent lever 340 is fixed to the rear end side of the detent pin 310. The position of the detent lever 340 along the axial direction is adjusted by a nut 341 that is screwed to the detent pin 310. In a state where the main body member 110 is not attached to the spindle 20 (a state where the cover 150 is not fixed to the machine tool 10), the anti-rotation pin 310 moves in a direction (toward the rear end) out of the hole 152 due to the elastic force of the spring 320. At this time, the anti-rotation lever 340 moves to an engagement position (a position shown by a dashed line in FIG. 3) where it engages with the engagement hole 113 of the main body member 110. This prevents the main body member 110 from rotating relative to the cover 150. On the other hand, in a state where the main body member 110 is attached to the spindle 20 (a state where the cover 150 is fixed to the machine tool 10), the anti-rotation pin 310 abuts against the wall surface 41a of the fitting hole 41 and moves in a direction to be inserted into the hole 152 (toward the tip side) against the elastic force of the spring 320. At this time, the anti-rotation lever 340 moves to a disengagement position (position shown by a solid line in FIG. 3) where the engagement with the engagement hole 113 of the main body member 110 is released. This allows the main body member 110 to rotate relative to the cover 150.
[0016] The case 160 is fixed to the tip side of the cover 150 by bolts or the like. The case 160 has a case first passage 161 and a case second passage 162 . The ring member 190 is disposed between a rear end portion of the case 160 and a front end portion of the adapter 130. The ring member 190 has a ring member passage 191 that extends radially and opens to the inner circumferential surface and the outer circumferential surface of the ring member 190. The ring member 190 is disposed such that the ring member passage 191 communicates with the adapter passage 131 (more specifically, the second passage portion of the adapter passage 131) and the case first passage 161. Between the ring member 190 and the adapter 130 and between the ring member 190 and the case 160, sealing members (for example, O-rings) are disposed.
[0017] The pump 200 has a suction portion 201, a discharge portion 202, and a rotating portion. The rotating portion is rotatably disposed within the case inner space of the case 160. The rear end side of the rotating part of the pump 200 is connected to the main body member 110. In this embodiment, the rear end side of the rotating part is connected via a knock pin 140 to an adapter 130 connected to the main body member 110. In addition, a tip side portion of the rotating part is rotatably supported in a recess formed in the cap 170. In other words, the rotating part is rotatably disposed in the case inner space of the case 160. As a result, the rotating part of the pump 200 rotates in conjunction with the rotation of the main body member 110 attached to the main shaft 20. The suction portion 201 communicates with the case first passage 161. Moreover, the discharge portion 202 communicates with the case second passage 162. Pump 200 increases the pressure of the cooling medium sucked in through suction portion 201 by rotation of the rotating portion to a pressure corresponding to the rotation speed of the rotating portion, and discharges the pressurized cooling medium from discharge portion 202. Various known pumps having a rotating part can be used as the pump 200. In this embodiment, an internal gear pump is used.
[0018] Cover 150, case 160, and ring member 190 constitute a "support part" of the present invention. Furthermore, ring member passage 191 and case first passage 161 constitute a "first passage of the support part" of the present invention, and case second passage 162 constitutes a "second passage of the support part" of the present invention. Furthermore, case 160, the rotating part, suction part 201, and discharge part 202 constitute a "pump" of the present invention.
[0019] The cap 170 is fixed to the tip side of the case 160 by a bolt or the like so as to close the space inside the case 160. The cap 170 has a nozzle attachment hole 171 in which the nozzle 180 is attached, and a cap passage 172 that communicates with the nozzle attachment hole 171 . The cap 170 is fixed to the case 160 such that the cap passage 172 communicates with the case second passage 162 of the case 160 . The nozzle 180 has a nozzle passage 181 which communicates with an injection hole 182 . The nozzle 180 is attached to the nozzle attachment hole 171 so that the nozzle passage 181 communicates with the nozzle attachment hole 171 .
[0020] The machine tool 10 is provided with a fixed portion 40 . The fixed portion 40 is provided with a fitting hole (insertion hole) 41 into which the rear end of the anti-rotation pin 310 is fitted (inserted) when the main body member 110 is attached to the main shaft 20. In addition, an abutment portion that abuts against the anti-rotation pin rear end surface 312 is provided on the wall surface 41a of the engagement hole 41 (the surface that faces the anti-rotation pin rear end surface 312 of the anti-rotation pin 310 when the rear end of the anti-rotation pin 310 is engaged with the engagement hole 41). Furthermore, a force detection sensor 50 is provided that detects the force (pressing force) with which the contact portion is pressed by the anti-rotation pin 310 (more specifically, the anti-rotation pin rear end surface 312). In this embodiment, the force detection sensor 50 is disposed so that the pressure receiving surface 51 comes into contact with the anti-rotation pin rear end surface 312 when the main body member 110 is attached to the spindle 20. A known force detection sensor can be used as the force detection sensor 50. In this embodiment, a load cell having a strain generating body that deforms in proportion to the pressing force is used.
[0021] The engagement hole (insertion hole) 41 provided on the machine tool 10 side corresponds to the "engagement portion (insertion portion)" of the present invention, the anti-rotation pin 310 corresponds to the "pressing member" of the present invention, the wall surface 41a of the engagement hole (insertion hole) 41 corresponds to the "contact portion" of the present invention, and the spring 320 corresponds to the "elastic force generating portion" of the present invention. Additionally, engagement hole 113 provided in main body member 110 corresponds to the "engagement portion" of the present invention, and anti-rotation lever 340 fixed to anti-rotation pin 310 corresponds to the "engagement member" of the present invention. The anti-rotation pin 310, the spring 320, the anti-rotation lever 340, the engagement hole 113, the fitting hole 41, and the wall surface 41a of the fitting hole 41 constitute the "anti-rotation device" of the present invention. Force detection sensor 50 corresponds to the "force detection sensor which detects the force with which the abutment portion is pressed by the pressing portion and outputs a force detection signal" of the present invention, or the "pressing force detection sensor which detects the pressing force with which the abutment portion is pressed by the pressing portion and outputs a pressing force detection signal" or the "load detection sensor which detects the load with which the abutment portion is pressed by the pressing portion and outputs a load detection signal." Furthermore, the "force detection sensor (pressing force detection sensor, load detection sensor)" 50 constitutes the "force detection device (pressing force detection device, load detection sensor)" of the present invention.
[0022] Next, an example of the operation of attaching the coolant injection device 100 of this embodiment to the machine tool 10 will be described with reference to FIG. A pull stud 120 is attached to the rear end side of the main body member 110. For example, a male thread formed on the outer circumferential surface of the pull stud 120 is screwed into a female thread formed on the inner circumferential surface of the main body member that defines the main body member passage 111. The pull stud 120 has a pull stud passage 121 on the center side that extends axially and is open at both ends. By attaching the pull stud 120 to the rear end side of the main body member 110, the pull stud passage 121 and the main body member passage 111 are connected to each other. The rear end portion of the pull stud 120 is inserted into the spindle inner space 20a formed by the spindle inner circumferential surface 21 of the spindle 20 of the machine tool 10. Then, the pull stud 120 is pulled toward the machine tool 10 (rear end side) by a pulling member 30 provided on the machine tool 10 side. The spindle inner circumferential surface portion 21a on the tip side of the spindle inner circumferential surface 21 is formed into a tapered surface inclined so that the inner diameter becomes smaller from the tip side toward the rear end side. As a result, when the pull stud 120 is pulled into the spindle inner space 20a, the main body member outer circumferential surface portion 112a and the spindle inner circumferential surface portion 12a are tapered-fitted, and the main body member outer circumferential surface portion 112a (shank portion 112) is clamped by the spindle inner circumferential surface portion 21a. In other words, the main body member 110 is attached to the spindle 20.
[0023] Furthermore, as the main body member 110 moves toward the rear end, the cover 150 also moves toward the rear end, and the rear end of the anti-rotation pin 310 provided on the cover 150 is fitted (inserted) into the fitting hole 41 formed on the machine tool 10 side. Then, the anti-rotation pin rear end surface 312 abuts against the wall surface 41a of the fitting hole 41. At this time, the wall surface 41a of the fitting hole 41 is pressed by the anti-rotation pin rear end surface 312 due to the elastic force of the spring 320. Furthermore, the anti-rotation pin 310 moves in the direction of being inserted into the hole 152 (toward the tip end) against the elastic force of the spring 320. The fitting hole 41 is formed to prevent rotation of the anti-rotation pin 310 (cover 150) around the main body member 110 (around the neutral conductor P) when the anti-rotation pin 310 is fitted (inserted) into the fitting hole 41. For example, the fitting hole 41 is formed to have wall surfaces on both circumferential sides against which the anti-rotation pin 310 can abut. When the wall surface 41a of the engagement hole 41 is pressed by the rear end surface 312 of the anti-rotation pin 310, and when the anti-rotation pin 310 engages (inserts) into the engagement hole 41, the cover 150 is fixed to the machine tool 10 and rotation of the cover 150 around the main body member 110 is prevented.
[0024] Furthermore, as the anti-rotation pin 310 moves towards the tip end against the elastic force of the spring 320, the anti-rotation lever 340 fixed to the anti-rotation pin 310 moves towards the tip end. Then, with the main body member 110 attached to the main shaft 20, the anti-rotation lever 340 moves to a release position where it is disengaged from the engagement hole 113 of the main body member 110. This allows the main body member 110, the adapter 130 and the rotating part of the pump 200 to rotate relative to the cover 150 and the case 160.
[0025] In this state, when the main shaft 20 rotates, the main body member 110, the adapter 130 and the rotating parts of the pump 200 rotate. When the rotating part of pump 200 rotates, the cooling medium supplied from main shaft 20 is sucked into suction portion 201 of pump 200 via pull stud passage 121, body member passage 111 (including filter 115), adapter passage 151, ring member passage 191, and case first passage 161. The cooling medium whose pressure has been increased (boosted) by pump 200 is then sent to nozzle passage 181 via discharge portion 202 of pump 200, case second passage 162, cap passage 172, and nozzle mounting hole 171, and is sprayed from spray hole 182. In this embodiment, the cover 150 is fixed to the machine tool 10, the case 160 is fixed to the cover 150, the cap 170 is fixed to the case 160, and the nozzle 180 is fixed to the cap 170. That is, the nozzle 180 is fixed to the machine tool 10 via the cap 170, the case 160, and the cover 150 so as not to be rotatable. For this reason, the cooling medium sprayed from the spray hole 182 of the nozzle 180 can be sprayed in a concentrated manner at a predetermined location without being affected by centrifugal force due to the rotation of the spray hole, as in the conventional technology. Foreign matter contained in the cooling medium is removed by a filter 115 disposed in the body member passage 111 .
[0026] An example of the operation when machining a workpiece using a tool will be described below. In the following, a machine tool (called a "machining center") will be described, which is provided with a tool magazine capable of accommodating a plurality of tool holders holding tools, and which attaches a tool holder selected from the plurality of tool holders stored in the tool magazine to a spindle according to a machining program, and uses the tool held in the selected tool holder to machine a workpiece. Note that the machine is configured so that a cooling medium can be supplied from the spindle 20 to the tool holder attached to the spindle 20. The cooling medium injection device 100 is stored in a tool magazine together with a plurality of tool holders. Attach the workpiece to the machine tool. A tool holder holding a tool required for machining is selected from the tool holders stored in the tool magazine and attached to the spindle 20. The workpiece is machined using the tool held in the tool holder attached to the spindle 20. After machining the workpiece, the cooling medium injection device 100 housed in the tool magazine is set to a usable state. More specifically, the main body member 110 is attached to the spindle 20, and the cover 150 is fixed to the machine tool 10. This makes it possible to inject the cooling medium supplied from the spindle 20 from the injection hole 182 of the nozzle 180. The rotation speed of the main shaft 20 is set so that the pressure of the cooling medium injected from the injection holes 182 of the nozzle 180 is sufficient to remove chips and burrs. In this embodiment, the discharge characteristic (rotation speed-discharge pressure characteristic) of the pump 200 is configured to discharge a cooling medium having a predetermined pressure that can eject the cooling medium capable of removing chips and burrs from the ejection holes 182 at a predetermined rotation speed. Therefore, the rotation speed of the main shaft 20 is set to a predetermined rotation speed. Then, the cooling medium injection device 100 (or the workpiece) is moved while the cooling medium is injected from the injection holes 182 of the nozzle 180 onto areas of the workpiece where cutting chips remain (or areas where cutting chips are likely to remain) or areas where burrs have occurred (or areas where burrs are likely to occur) after machining has been completed. As described above, by using the cooling medium injection device 100 of this embodiment, chips remaining on the workpiece after machining and burrs formed during machining can be reliably removed by intensively injecting the cooling medium supplied from the spindle 20 in a predetermined direction with a simple configuration, without the need for removal work by an operator. The operation of removing chips and burrs using the cooling medium injection device 100 is not limited to the operation described above.
[0027] Here, if the pressure with which the anti-rotation pin rear end face 312 of the anti-rotation pin 310 presses against the wall surface 41a of the fitting hole 41 decreases, the operation of the anti-rotation device 300 becomes unstable. Therefore, if the force with which the anti-rotation pin rear end face 312 presses against the wall surface 41a decreases, the cooling medium injection device 100 needs to be inspected, repaired, or replaced. In this embodiment, a rear end surface 312 of the anti-rotation pin 310 is provided with a force detection device having a force detection sensor 50 that detects the force with which the anti-rotation pin 310 presses the wall surface 41 a of the fitting hole 41 . In the above description, the force detection sensor 50 is provided on the fitting hole 41 side (contact portion side), but it may also be provided on the anti-rotation pin 310 side (pressing member side).
[0028] In this embodiment, in a state where the main body member 110 is attached to the spindle 20, the anti-rotation pin rear end surface 312 presses the wall surface 41a of the fitting hole 41 with a force Ga corresponding to the elastic force Fa (the elastic force in a state where the anti-rotation pin 310 is compressed by moving toward the tip side) of the spring 320. In this case, the force detection signal output from the force detection sensor 50 indicates the force Ga corresponding to the elastic force Fa. The force detection signal output from the force detection sensor 50 is sent to, for example, a display device or an alarm device. The display device displays the force indicated by the force detection signal sent from the force detection sensor 50. If the force displayed on the display device is not within the normal range, the worker determines that the state of the coolant injection device 100 is in a state (abnormal state) that requires inspection, repair, or replacement. For example, if the force displayed on the display device falls below the lower limit of the normal range, the worker determines that the force fixing the cover 150 to the machine tool 10 may have decreased. The warning device judges whether the force indicated by the force detection signal sent from the force detection sensor 50 is within a normal range. If it is judged that the force indicated by the force detection signal is not within the normal range, it notifies an operator that the state of the coolant injection device 100 is in a state (abnormal state) that requires inspection, repair, or replacement. For example, if the force indicated by the force detection signal falls below the lower limit of the normal range, it notifies an operator that the force fixing the cover 150 to the machine tool 10 may be decreasing.
[0029] Next, a second embodiment of the cooling medium injection device of the present invention will be described with reference to FIGS. Fig. 5 is a cross-sectional view of a coolant injection device 400 of the second embodiment, and Fig. 6 is a diagram for explaining an operation of attaching the coolant injection device 400 of the second embodiment to a machine tool 10. Fig. 7 is a partial enlarged view of a main part of Fig. 5, and Fig. 8 is a partial enlarged view of a main part of Fig. 6. Fig. 9 is a diagram showing a state in which the coolant injection device 400 of the second embodiment is attached to the machine tool 10.
[0030] In the coolant injection device of the first embodiment, the state of the coolant injection device (the state in which the cover is fixed to the machine tool) is determined based on the pressure with which the rear end face of the anti-rotation pin presses against the wall surface of the fitting hole. Here, when the performance of the pump decreases, the pressure of the cooling medium discharged from the discharge part of the pump at a given rotation speed decreases, and the pressure of the cooling medium in the second case passage decreases. When the pressure of the cooling medium in the second case passage decreases, the pressure of the cooling medium sprayed from the nozzle injection hole also decreases, and the effect of removing chips and burrs decreases. For this reason, when the pressure of the cooling medium in the second case passage decreases, the cooling medium injection device needs to be inspected, repaired, or replaced. Furthermore, when the nozzle injection hole becomes clogged, the pressure of the cooling medium injected from the nozzle injection hole decreases, and the effect of removing chips and burrs decreases. Therefore, when the nozzle injection hole becomes clogged, the cooling medium injection device needs to be inspected, repaired, or replaced. Note that, when the pump is discharging cooling medium at a predetermined pressure from the discharge part at a predetermined rotation speed, if the nozzle injection hole becomes clogged, the flow rate of the cooling medium injected from the nozzle injection hole decreases, and the pressure of the cooling medium in the second case passage increases. Therefore, the state in which the nozzle injection hole is clogged can be determined by the increase in the pressure of the cooling medium in the second case passage. The coolant injection device 400 of the second embodiment is configured so as to be able to distinguish between the force with which the rear end face of the anti-rotation pin presses against the wall surface of the fitting hole and the pressure of the coolant in the second case passage.
[0031] The cooling medium injection device 400 of the second embodiment has a main body, a support, a cap 470, a nozzle 480, a pump 500, an anti-rotation device 600, and a force detection device, similar to the cooling medium injection device 100 of the first embodiment. The cooling medium injection device 400 of the second embodiment has the same components as the cooling medium injection device 100 of the first embodiment, except that it has a component that transmits the pressure of the cooling medium in the case second passage 462 to the anti-rotation pin 610 in order to determine the pressure of the cooling medium in the case second passage 462. For this reason, in the following, explanations of the same components as those of the cooling medium injection device 100 of the first embodiment will be omitted or simplified.
[0032] The main body is composed of a main body member 410 and an adapter 430 . The support portion is composed of a cover 450, a case 460, and a ring member 490.
[0033] In this embodiment, cover 450 has a hole 452 that extends along the axial direction and is open at the rear end side. Anti-rotation pin 610 is inserted into hole 452 so as to be movable along the extension direction of hole 452. Anti-rotation pin 610 has a hole 611 that extends along the axial direction and is open at the tip side. At the tip side of the hole 452, a passage 453 is formed which opens to a bottom wall 452a of the hole 452 and extends along the axial direction. Further, the transmission member 630 is inserted across the hole 611 and the passage 453 so as to be movable along the extending direction of the hole 611 and the passage 453 . A spring 620 is disposed between a step surface 633 on the rear end side of the transmission member 630 and a bottom wall 452 a of the hole 452 . As a result, rear end surface 631 of transmission member 630 abuts against bottom wall 611a of hole 611, and the elastic force of spring 620 is transmitted to anti-rotation pin 610 via transmission member 630. That is, anti-rotation pin 610 is subjected to a force by the elastic force of spring 620 to move in a direction to come out of hole 452 (toward the rear end).
[0034] A detent lever 640 that can be engaged with the engagement hole 413 of the main body member 410 is fixed to the rear end side of the detent pin 610 . As with the cooling medium injection device 100 of the first embodiment, when the main body member 410 is not attached to the main shaft 20, the anti-rotation pin 610 moves to the rear end side by the elastic force of the spring 620. This causes the anti-rotation lever 640 to move to an engagement position (position shown by a dashed line in FIG. 8) where it engages with the engagement hole 413 of the main body member 410. On the other hand, in a state where the main body member 410 is attached to the main shaft 20, the anti-rotation pin 610 moves toward the tip side against the elastic force of the spring 620. As a result, the anti-rotation lever 640 moves to a disengagement position (the position shown by the solid line in FIG. 8) where the engagement with the engagement hole 413 of the main body member 410 is released.
[0035] The case 460 has a case first passage 461 and a case second passage 462. In this embodiment, a branch passage 462a branches off from the case second passage 462. A rotating portion of pump 500 is rotatably disposed within the space inside the case.
[0036] Cover 450, case 460, and ring member 490 constitute a "support part" of the present invention. Ring member passage 491 and case first passage 461 constitute a "first passage of the support part" of the present invention, and case second passage 462 constitutes a "second passage of the support part" of the present invention. Case 460, the rotating part, suction part 501, and discharge part 502 constitute a "pump" of the present invention.
[0037] In this embodiment, a connection member 650 is provided between the cover 450 and the case 460 . The connection member 650 has a connection passage 651. The connection member 650 is provided such that the connection passage 651 communicates between the passage 453 of the cover 450 and the branch passage 462a of the case 460. As a result, the pressure of the cooling medium in case second passage 462 (more specifically, branch passage 462a) is applied to tip surface 632 of transmission member 630 via connection passage 651 of connection member 650 and passage 453 of cover 450. That is, the pressure of the cooling medium in case second passage 622 is transmitted to anti-rotation pin 610 via transmission member 630, and acts as a force that moves anti-rotation pin 610 toward the rear end side. The cooling medium injection device 400, like the cooling medium injection device 100 of the first embodiment, is also provided with a force detection device constituted by a force detection sensor 50 that detects the force with which the anti-rotation pin rear end surface 612 presses against the wall surface 41a of the fitting hole 41. The anti-rotation pin 610, the spring 620, the transmission member 630, the anti-rotation lever 640, the engagement hole 413, the fitting hole 41, and the wall surface 41a of the fitting hole 41 constitute the "anti-rotation device" of the present invention. The force detection sensor 50 constitutes the "force detection device" of the present invention. The connecting passage 651 of the connecting member 650 and the passage 453 of the cover 450 form a "communicating passage" of the present invention.
[0038] An example of the operation of attaching the cooling medium injection device 400 to the machine tool 10 is shown in Fig. 6. The operation of attaching the cooling medium injection device 400 to the machine tool 10 is similar to the operation of attaching the cooling medium injection device 100 of the first embodiment to the machine tool 10.
[0039] As in the cooling medium injection device 100 of the first embodiment, the main body member 410 is attached to the main shaft 20. When the main shaft 20 is not rotating, the rear end face 612 of the anti-rotation pin presses against the wall surface 41a of the fitting hole 41 with a force Ga corresponding to the elastic force Fa of the spring 620. In this state, the force detection signal output from the force detection sensor 50 indicates a force Ga corresponding to the elastic force Fa.
[0040] Furthermore, when the main shaft 20 is rotated with the cooling medium injection device 400 attached to the machine tool 10, the main body member 410 and the rotating part of the pump 500 rotate. At this time, the rotation speed of the main shaft 20 (the rotating part of the pump 500) is set to a predetermined rotation speed. When the rotating part of pump 500 rotates, the pressure of the cooling medium supplied from main shaft 20 is increased by pump 500. Then, the pressurized cooling medium is sent to nozzle passage 481 via discharge part 502 of pump 500, case second passage 462, cap passage 472, and nozzle attachment hole 471, and is sprayed from spray hole 482. At this time, the cooling medium in case second passage 462 is sent to passage 453 via branch passage 462a and connecting passage 651 of connecting member 650. That is, pressure T of the cooling medium in case second passage 462 is applied to tip surface 632 of transmitting member 630 via branch passage 462a and communicating passages (connecting passage 651, passage 453). As a result, pressure T of the cooling medium in case second passage 462 acts on anti-rotation pin 610 via transmitting member 630 as a force that moves anti-rotation pin 610 toward the rear end side. In this state, the anti-rotation pin rear end surface 612 presses the wall surface 41a of the fitting hole 41 with a force Gc (=Ga+Gb) obtained by adding up a force Ga corresponding to the elastic force Fa of the spring 620 and a force Gb corresponding to the pressure T of the cooling medium in the case second passage 462. In other words, the force detection signal output from the force detection sensor 50 indicates the sum Gc (=Ga+Gb) of the force Ga corresponding to the elastic force Fa and the force Gb corresponding to the pressure T of the cooling medium in the case second passage 462.
[0041] Then, the state of the cooling medium injection device 400 is determined based on the force (pressing force) Gc (=Ga+Gb) when the main body member 410 is attached to the main shaft 20 and the main shaft 20 is rotating, and the force (pressing force) Ga when the main body member 410 is attached to the main shaft 20 but the main shaft 20 is not rotating. As a method for determining the state of the cooling medium injection device 400 based on the forces Ga and Gc, various methods can be used. For example, the following method can be used.
[0042] The force detection signal output from the force detection sensor 50 is sent to, for example, a display device or an alarm device. The display device displays, for example, the force indicated by the force detection signal sent from the force detection sensor 50 . The operator reads the force Ga displayed on the display device when the main body member 410 is attached to the spindle 20 but the spindle 20 is not rotating. If the force Ga is not within the normal range, the operator determines that the coolant injection device 400 is in a state requiring inspection, repair, or replacement (an abnormal state). For example, if the force displayed on the display device falls below the lower limit of the normal range, the operator determines that the force fixing the cover 450 to the machine tool 10 may have decreased. The worker also reads the force Gc displayed on the display device when the main body member 410 is attached to the spindle 20 and the spindle 20 is rotating. If the difference Gb (=Gc-Ga) between the forces Gc and Ga is not within the normal range, the worker determines that the coolant injection device 400 is in a state requiring inspection, repair, or replacement (abnormal state). For example, if the force displayed on the display device falls below the lower limit of the normal range, the worker determines that the pump performance may be degraded, and if the force displayed on the display device rises above the upper limit of the normal range, the worker determines that the nozzle injection hole may be clogged. The pressure T of the cooling medium in the case second passage 462 is calculated by the formula: [force Gb (N) / cross-sectional area of the transmission member tip surface 632 (mm 2 )].
[0043] When the warning device determines that the force Ga indicated by the force detection signal sent from the force detection sensor 50 is not within the normal range while the main body member 410 is attached to the spindle 20 and the spindle 20 is not rotating, it activates an indicator light, an alarm, or the like to notify an operator that the state of the cooling medium injection device 400 is in a state (abnormal state) that requires inspection, repair, or replacement. For example, when the force displayed on the display device falls below the lower limit of the normal range, it notifies an operator that the force fixing the cover 450 to the machine tool 10 may have decreased. The alarm device calculates a force Gb (=Gc-Ga) by subtracting the force Ga indicated by the force detection signal sent from the force detection sensor 50 when the main body member 410 is attached to the spindle 20 but the spindle 20 is not rotating from the force Gc indicated by the force detection signal sent from the force detection sensor 50 when the main body member 410 is attached to the spindle 20 and the spindle 20 is rotating. If the alarm device determines that the force Gb is not within the normal range, it activates an indicator light, an alarm, or the like, and notifies an operator that the state of the cooling medium injection device 400 is in a state (abnormal state) that requires inspection, repair, or replacement. For example, if the force Gb falls below the lower limit of the normal range, it notifies an operator that the pump performance may be degraded, and if the force Gb rises above the upper limit of the normal range, it notifies an operator that the nozzle injection hole may be clogged.
[0044] A cooling medium injection device according to a third embodiment of the present invention will be described with reference to FIGS. Fig. 10 is a cross-sectional view of a cooling medium injection device 700 of the third embodiment. Fig. 11 is a diagram for explaining an operation of attaching the cooling medium injection device 700 of the third embodiment to the machine tool 10. Fig. 12 is a diagram showing a state in which the cooling medium injection device 700 of the third embodiment is attached to the machine tool 10. A coolant injection device 700 of the third embodiment differs from the coolant injection device 400 of the second embodiment in the configuration in which the pressure of the coolant in the second case passage is applied to the anti-rotation pin. Therefore, only the configurations that differ from the cooling medium injection device 400 of the second embodiment will be described below.
[0045] Similar to the cooling medium injection device 400 of the second embodiment, the cooling medium injection device 700 of this embodiment has a main body, a support, a cap 770, a nozzle 780, a pump 800, an anti-rotation device 900, and a force detection device. The main body is composed of a main body member 710 and an adapter 730 . The support portion is composed of a cover 750, a case 760, and a ring member 790.
[0046] In this embodiment, the case 760 has a branch passage 762 a branching from the case second passage 762 . In this embodiment, cover 750 has a hole 752 that extends along the axial direction and is open at the rear end. A rotation-prevention pin 910 is inserted into hole 752 so as to be movable along the extension direction of hole 752. Rotation-prevention pin 910 has a hole 911 that extends along the axial direction and is open at the tip end. A spring 920 is disposed between a bottom wall 911 a of the hole 911 and a bottom wall 752 a of the hole 752 . A rotation-stop lever 940 engageable with an engagement hole 713 of a main body member 710 is fixed to the rear end side of the rotation-stop pin 910, similar to the cooling medium ejection device 400 of the second embodiment. Further, a transmission member 930 is provided on the cover 750 so as to be movable in the axial direction relative to the cover 750. The transmission member 930 is disposed so that a transmission member rear end surface 931 protrudes from the cover 750 toward the rear end side, and a transmission member front end surface 932 protrudes from the cover 750 toward the front end side. The transmission member 930 is configured so that the transmission member rear end surface 931 can abut against the anti-rotation lever 940 from the front end side.
[0047] Also, a connection member 950 having a connection passage 951 is provided. The connection passage 951 is open at both ends. The connection member 950 is arranged such that one opening of the connection passage 951 communicates with the case second passage 722 (branch passage 722a) and the transmission member tip surface 932 is inserted into the connection passage 951 from the other opening of the connection passage 951. As a result, the pressure of the cooling medium in case second passage 722 (branch passage 722a) is applied to transmission member tip surface 932 via the communication passage formed by connection passage 951. That is, the pressure of the cooling medium in case second passage 722 is transmitted to anti-rotation pin 910 via connection passage 951, transmission member 930, and anti-rotation lever 940, and acts as a force that moves anti-rotation pin 910 toward the rear end side. In this embodiment, similarly to the cooling medium injection device 400 of the second embodiment, a force detection device is provided which is constituted by a force detection sensor 50 which detects the force (pressing force) with which the rear end surface 912 of the anti-rotation pin presses against the wall surface 41a of the fitting hole 41. The anti-rotation pin 910, the spring 920, the transmission member 930, the anti-rotation lever 940, the engagement hole 713, the fitting hole 41, and the wall surface 41a of the fitting hole 41 constitute the "anti-rotation device" of the present invention.
[0048] An example of the operation of attaching the cooling medium injection device 700 to the machine tool 10 is shown in Fig. 11. The operation of attaching the cooling medium injection device 700 to the machine tool 10 is similar to the operation of attaching the cooling medium injection device 400 of the second embodiment to the machine tool 10.
[0049] As in the cooling medium injection device 100 of the first embodiment, the main body member 710 is attached to the main shaft 20. When the main shaft 20 is not rotating, the rear end face 912 of the anti-rotation pin presses against the wall surface 41a of the fitting hole 41 with a force Ga corresponding to the elastic force Fa of the spring 920. In this state, the force detection signal output from the force detection sensor 50 indicates a force Ga corresponding to the elastic force Fa. Furthermore, similarly to the cooling medium injection device 400 of the second embodiment, when the main body member 710 is attached to the main shaft 20 and the main shaft 20 is rotated, the anti-rotation pin rear end surface 912 presses the wall surface 41a of the fitting hole 41 with a force Gc (=Ga+Gb) obtained by adding up a force Ga corresponding to the elastic force Fa of the spring 920 and a force Gb corresponding to the pressure T of the cooling medium in the case second passage 462. In other words, the force detection signal output from the force detection sensor 50 indicates the sum Gc (=Ga+Gb) of the force Ga corresponding to the elastic force Fa and the force Gb corresponding to the pressure T of the cooling medium in the case second passage 462.
[0050] Then, the state of the cooling medium injection device 400 is determined based on the force Gc (=Ga+Gb) when the main body member 710 is attached to the main shaft 20 and the main shaft 20 is rotating, and the force Ga when the main body member 710 is attached to the main shaft 20 but the main shaft 20 is not rotating. As a method for determining the state of the cooling medium injection device 700 based on the forces Ga and Gc, for example, the same method as that of the cooling medium injection device 700 of the second embodiment can be used. In this embodiment, the pressure T of the cooling medium in the case second passage 762 is expressed as [force Gb (N) / cross-sectional area of the transmission member tip surface 932 (mm 2 )].
[0051] The present invention is not limited to the configurations described in the embodiments, and various modifications, additions, and deletions are possible. In the detailed explanation, the case has been described where the pressure with which the abutment portion (wall surface of the fitting hole) is pressed by the pressing portion (anti-rotation pin) and the pressure of the cooling medium in the second passage of the support portion (inside the second case passage) are detected, but the present invention can also be configured to detect either the pressure with which the abutment portion is pressed by the pressing portion or the pressure of the cooling medium in the second passage of the support portion. The force detection sensor that detects the force (pressing force, load) applied when the contact portion is pressed by the pressing portion may be provided on either the contact portion or the pressing portion. The configuration is such that rotation of the support part around the main body part is prevented by fitting (inserting) the pressing member (anti-rotation pin) into the fitting portion (fitting hole) and abutting the pressing member (anti-rotation pin) against the abutment portion (wall surface of the fitting hole); however, it is also possible to prevent rotation of the support part around the main body part by abutting the pressing member (anti-rotation pin) against the abutment portion or by fitting the pressing member (anti-rotation pin) into the fitting portion. Although the main body is configured by a separate main body member and an adapter, it may be configured by a single member. Also, the shape and configuration of the main body can be changed in various ways. Although the support portion is configured by the cover, the case, and the ring member, it may be configured by one member. Also, the shape and configuration of the support portion can be changed in various ways. Various configurations can be used to rotatably support the main body on the support portion. Various methods can be used to fix the support portion to the machine tool in a state in which the main body portion is attached to the spindle. As the pump, any of various known pumps having a rotating portion, a suction portion, and a discharge portion can be used. Various methods can be used to connect the main body and the rotating part of the pump. The shape and configuration of the cap can be changed in various ways. As the nozzle, nozzles of various configurations can be used. As the filter, various known filters can be used, and the filter may be omitted. The anti-rotation device may have various configurations as long as it can at least fix the holding part to the machine tool when the main body is attached to the main shaft of the machine tool to rotate the rotating part of the pump. Also, various methods can be used to fix the holding part to the machine tool. As the force detection device, force detection devices having various configurations can be used. In addition, the method for determining the pressure of the cooling medium increased by the pump is not limited to the method described in the embodiment, and various methods can be used. For example, the pressure of the cooling medium can be directly or indirectly detected by a pressure detection device. Furthermore, the location of the cooling medium where the pressure is detected can be changed as appropriate. The configurations described in the embodiments can be used alone or in combination with a number of appropriately selected configurations. The cooling medium injection device of the present invention is preferably used in a machine tool having a tool magazine capable of accommodating a plurality of tool holders, but can also be used in machine tools having various other configurations.
