A system and method for knee arthroplasty procedures, using a novel leg rotation fixture to enable the leg mechanical axis, the tibia and the femur to be mutually disposed such that the load bearing, mechanical axis of the leg runs through the center of the knee joint. A measurement gauge is provided for mounting on the tibia and for aligning a baseplate in a known position on the tibia. This baseplate supports an X-ray target plate in a known position relative to the tibia, used in determining the mechanical axis, and an optional surgical robot, used to perform tibial and femoral cuts. The position of the femur relative to the robot may be determined from X-ray imaging of the pelvic region after attachment to the baseplate of an additional target extending to the pelvic region. The system enables improvement in the accuracy of knee arthroplasty procedures.

More particularly, it relates to controlling tension in such continuous webs during the processing operation. Tension is controlled in a dancer control system by connecting a corresponding dancer roll to an actuator apparatus or the like, sensing variables such as position, tension, velocity, and acceleration parameters related to the web and the dancer roll, and providing active force commands, in response to the sensed variables, to cause translational movement, generally including a target acceleration, in the dancer roll to control tension disturbances in the web. In some applications of the invention, the dancer control system is used to attenuate tension disturbances. In other applications of the invention, the dancer control system is used to create tension disturbances.

A method of fabricating a micro electromechanical system (MEMS) structure which can be vacuum-packaged at the wafer level is provided. The method includes the steps of forming a multilayered stack including a signal line on a first wafer; bonding a second wafer to the multilayered stack; polishing the first wafer to a predetermined thickness; forming a MEMS structure in a vacuum area of the first wafer and a pad outside the vacuum area, the MEMS structure and the pad being connected to the signal line; forming a structure in a third wafer to have space corresponding to the vacuum area of the MEMS structure; and bonding the third wafer to the polished surface of the first wafer in a vacuum state. For protection of the structure and maintaining a vacuum level required for operation, the fabricated structure is vacuum-packaged at the wafer level, thereby improving the yield of fabrication. In addition, since a special vacuum packaging process is not necessary, the fabrication can be simplified.

First and second driver rollers may be spaced apart and positioned on opposite sides of the measuring wheel. An outfeed table and infeed table with angled rollers may further be employed.
