Description

[Technical field]

[0001] The present invention relates to a compact and efficient air cleaning device.

[0002] Specifically, this is a panel-shaped air purifying device that draws in air around the device in a room, purifies it, and returns it to the same room. (1) The distance between the intake opening and the exhaust opening should be as large as possible. (2) By strengthening the component of the exhaust streamline toward the floor, (3) To reduce the pressure gradient in the spatial area that needs to be purified along the air flow path from the intake opening to the exhaust opening. This allows for efficient absorption of exhaled droplets from a person at a certain distance from the intake opening. [Background technology]

[0003] (1. Social background) Recently, with the spread of viral infections such as COVID-19, many ideas have been proposed to prevent the spread of infection. Some of these ideas allow people to maintain a logical social distance even if they are physically close to each other. For example, there are ideas that focus on the fact that viral infections are mainly caused by saliva droplets expelled by people and try to reduce this as much as possible, including air purifiers.

[0004] (2. Background technology) Many air purifying devices have been proposed even before the emergence of COVID-19.

[0005] For example, the air conditioner disclosed in Patent Document 1 is equipped with a filter and a fan inside a flat, thin-plate housing. The fan located at the bottom of the housing takes in indoor air and transfers it to the top inside the housing. A filter is provided at the top, and purified air is discharged from here.

[0006] On the other hand, the air conditioner disclosed in Patent Document 2 has the main purpose of exhausting heat, but it draws in indoor air from the top of the ventilation panel body, transports it downwards by a ventilation fan installed at the bottom inside the panel, and discharges it into the space under the floor. If used as is, this can collect droplets exhaled by people near the device and discharge them outside, which is effective in preventing the spread of droplets.

[0007] (3. Area Information) In addition, Non-Patent Document 1 lists the average height, weight, and sitting height of 17-year-old high school students, which are generally considered to be the average for adults. From this information, the head height of a person when standing or sitting can be determined, and the target space height at which exhaled droplets should be sucked can be determined. [0009] [Non-Patent Document 1] Saitama Prefecture General Affairs Department Statistics Division Labor and Education Section, "Saitama Prefecture / Summary of the Results of the FY2003 School Health Statistics Survey," [online], January 5, 2018, Saitama Prefecture, [Retrieved April 6, 2021], Internet<URL:https: / / www.pref.saitama.lg.jp / a0206 / a218 / 906-20100105-677.html> Summary of the Invention [Problem to be solved by the invention]

[0010] In the device disclosed in Patent Document 1, air is drawn in from the bottom and exhausted from the top, but this is because the main focus is on air purification, and there is a risk that droplets exhaled by people near the device will spread.

[0011] Of course, even if a device spreads droplets in this way, the number of viruses per unit volume will decrease, and considering the human immune system's ability to prevent disease unless a certain number of viruses are taken into the body, it cannot be said that it is ineffective in preventing infection. Nevertheless, it is desirable to prevent droplets containing viruses from spreading, and a device that collects droplets is desirable.

[0012] Of course, it is easy to think of reversing the wind direction, but since this does not emphasize the collection of droplets, further consideration is needed as to whether this is optimal.

[0013] According to the invention of Patent Document 2, this device requires an opening in the floor on which it is installed that communicates with the underfloor space. For this reason, there is a drawback in that the device cannot be installed in places where an opening in communication with the underfloor space cannot be secured, or where underfloor space cannot be secured at all. [Means for solving the problem]

[0014] (1. General matters concerning the means to solve the problem) The devices according to the present invention aim to reduce the above problems, and their purpose is to: (1) It can be installed anywhere, and when used normally, it functions as an air purifying device. (2) Focusing on the fact that droplet infection is likely to occur in situations where people communicate around a desk, the so-called "three Cs" (crowded, close contact, and closed spaces) are avoided, we have established a system for efficient ventilation, particularly in the desk space next to the equipment. To provide an air purifier.

[0015] (2. Definitions of terms used in this application) Before discussing the means for solving the problems, the following definitions will be given for the terms used in the specification, claims, and drawings of this application.

[0016] "Intake opening" refers to an opening that draws in the air to be purified into the device. In principle, it is assumed to be rectangular, but it may be an arrangement of multiple circular or polygonal openings. In the latter case, the surface enclosed by the envelope of these multiple openings is referred to as the exhaust opening.

[0017] "Exhaust opening" refers to an opening that exhausts purified air from the device. In principle, it is assumed to be rectangular, but it may be an arrangement of multiple circular or polygonal openings. In the latter case, the surface enclosed by the envelope of these multiple openings is referred to as the exhaust opening.

[0018] "Upper end of exhaust opening" refers to the part of the exhaust opening with area that is located the furthest from the floor surface.

[0019] "Exhaust opening distance above floor" refers to the distance between the top of the exhaust opening and the floor surface when the device is installed on the floor.

[0020] "Front surface" refers to the surface of the device that corresponds to the front, i.e., the surface that faces the device primarily toward the location of a person who may expel droplets when the device is in use.

[0021] The "rear surface" refers to the surface behind the front surface.

[0022] The term "bottom" refers to the part of the device that faces the floor surface when the device is placed on the floor. When multiple components that make up the device face the floor surface, any of the components can be considered to be the bottom.

[0023] "Up" refers to a higher position or location than when the device is placed on the floor. "Down" similarly refers to a lower position or location than when the device is placed on the floor.

[0024] The "horizontal floor plane" refers to the surface of the floor that extends from the state when the device is placed on the floor. Therefore, when used on a normal floor with no incline, the horizontal floor plane direction coincides with the horizontal direction.

[0025] (3. Explanation of the means for solving the problem) Next, a description will be given of the means for solving the problems. The present invention relates to an air purifying device that is placed on a floor, draws in indoor air, filters the drawn-in air, and returns it to the same room.

[0026] (3.1. Regarding the invention described in claim 1) The invention described in claim 1 includes an intake opening, a filter, an exhaust opening, and a blower. , a decompression chamber, an intake acceleration chamber, and a wind direction adjustment chamber The air purifying device is provided with the above. The filter is provided in an air flow path from the intake acceleration chamber to the decompression chamber to purify the air, and the blower is provided near the exhaust opening to transport air from the decompression chamber to the airflow direction adjustment chamber.

[0027] The intake opening is provided above the front surface of the device and is adapted to draw in air from the surrounding area.

[0028] The filter purifies the air passing through it by removing dust. The filter is disposed at a position where the air sucked through the intake opening can pass through the filter. This serves to purify the air sucked through the intake opening.

[0029] The exhaust opening is an opening at the bottom of the device near the lower edge of the front face. It serves as a gate for discharging purified air that has passed through the filter inside the device into the room. When the device is placed indoors, the exhaust air is in the same room space as the air drawn in from the intake opening. By locating the exhaust opening at the bottom of the device, it is located away from the intake opening. This reduces the pressure gradient between the exhaust opening and the intake opening, and acts to keep the air pressure lower in the spatial region at the same height from the intake opening compared to when the exhaust opening is located at a higher position.

[0030] The blower is provided inside the device and acts to suck in air from the intake opening, purify the air by passing it through a filter, and then discharge the purified air to the outside of the device through the exhaust opening, thereby creating a negative pressure near the intake opening and a positive pressure near the exhaust opening.

[0032] The decompression chamber is a hollow housing in the shape of a panel. Being hollow, it acts as an air flow path. Also, being in the shape of a panel, a straight edge is formed near the bottom of the front surface. The decompression chamber has an intake opening at the top of the front surface and an exhaust opening at the bottom of the front surface. That is, the intake opening and the exhaust opening are respectively provided on the same surface of the panel. The intake opening is ventilated with the intake acceleration chamber (described later) via a filter, and the exhaust opening is ventilated with the airflow direction adjustment chamber (described later) via a blower.

[0033] The intake acceleration chamber is formed at the upper front side of the decompression chamber and has an intake opening at its front which is narrower in area than the intake opening provided in the decompression chamber, and the air sucked in through the intake opening is discharged through the intake opening opened in the decompression chamber via a filter.

[0034] The air direction adjustment chamber is located at the lower front side of the decompression chamber, at a position where air flows in from the exhaust opening of the decompression chamber, and the air flowing in from the decompression chamber is guided to the bottom by the action of the blower and exhausted from the exhaust opening provided at the bottom.

[0035] (3. 2 .Claims 2 Regarding the invention described in Claim 2 The invention described in claim 1 The apparatus according to claim 1, further comprising a spacer at the bottom position of the apparatus.

[0036] The spacer is designed to ensure that the distance above the floor of the exhaust opening is longer than the distance between the front edge and the opposite side of the exhaust opening. The product of the distance between the front edge and the opposite side of the exhaust opening and the front edge is approximately equal to the exhaust opening area. Also, the product of the front edge length of the exhaust opening and the distance above the floor of the exhaust opening is approximately equal to the area opened toward the front near the bottom of the device. Therefore, if the distance above the floor of the exhaust opening is made longer than the distance between the front edge and the opposite side of the exhaust opening, it means that the area of the gap extending to the front from the bottom surface of the device to the floor surface and the area of the exhaust opening arranged on the bottom surface of the device are approximately equal to or greater than that. Therefore, this spacer acts so that air is discharged from the exhaust opening into the room without significant resistance.

[0037] (3. 3 .Claims 3 Regarding the invention described in Claim 3 The invention described in claim 1 In the device described in the above, a slope is formed below the intake opening, widening toward the floor. Forming the slope at this position acts to position the exhaust opening further away from the intake opening, and to make the pressure gradient between the exhaust opening and the intake opening smaller. That is, it acts to keep the air pressure lower in an area at the same lower position from the intake opening than if the exhaust opening were located higher.

[0038] (3. 4 .Claims 4 Regarding the invention described in Claim 4 The invention described in claim 1In the device described in the above, the exhaust opening is formed so that the component of the wind speed vector that is the maximum speed of the exhausted air is greater toward the installation floor than the component in the direction of the installation floor. In other words, the direction of the maximum speed of the exhausted air stream line is set to be 45 degrees or less with respect to the floor normal. This has the effect of suppressing the drop in pressure gradient near the lower edge of the exhaust flow forming material. That is, the pressure gradient between the lower exhaust opening and the intake opening is made even smaller. In other words, it acts to keep the pressure lower in an area at the same low position from the intake opening compared to when the exhaust opening is located at a higher position.

[0039] (3. 5 (Interrelationship of each claim) The inventions described in each claim are as described above. In order to make it easier to understand the interrelationships between the inventions in each claim, a relationship table is provided below. [Table 1] Effect of the Invention

[0040] (1. Effect of the invention described in claim 1) According to the invention described in claim 1, the distance between the intake opening and the exhaust opening is maximized, so that the pressure gradient between them is kept low. As a result, a wide spatial area not far from the intake opening is maintained at a low pressure. This means that airflow from the surroundings toward this spatial area is maintained. If this spatial area is located in a place where droplets exhaled by people who are talking are likely to appear, it becomes possible to efficiently suppress the spread of droplets. Of course, the device is also effective as an air purifier that purifies the air in a room in other situations.

[0041] (2. Effect of the invention described in claim 2) According to the invention described in claim 2, a compact panel-type air purifier can be provided, which is easy to use and can efficiently suppress the scattering of droplets. This is particularly effective in situations where multiple people are talking around a desk placed to the side.

[0042] (3. Effect of the invention described in claim 3) According to the invention described in claim 3, the area of the gap formed from the bottom surface of the device to the floor surface and extending forward is roughly equal to or greater than the area of the exhaust opening located on the bottom surface of the device, so that air flow can be secured regardless of the installation location, making it possible to predict and design performance during operation.

[0043] (4. Effect of the invention described in claim 4) According to the invention described in claim 4, the exhaust opening can be positioned further away from the intake opening, thereby making it possible to reduce the pressure gradient between the exhaust opening and the intake opening. This makes it possible to maintain the air region space near the intake opening at a low pressure, thereby ensuring a strong airflow from this surrounding space toward the intake opening.

[0044] (5. Effect of the invention described in claim 5) According to the invention described in claim 5, the exhaust opening provided at the bottom of the device is formed so that the wind speed vector that is the maximum speed of the exhausted air has a component toward the installation floor surface that is greater than the horizontal component along which the installation floor surface extends. This makes it possible to reduce the pressure gradient between the exhaust opening and the intake opening, so that the air region space near the intake opening can be maintained at a low pressure, and a strong air flow toward the intake opening in the surrounding space can be secured. [0047] ―――――― Main text ―――――― (1. Drawing Description) In the following explanation, the symbols in the drawings are written so that the first digit, excluding the last two digits, represents the drawing number, to improve readability. Also, the numbers are arranged so that drawings with the same last two digits have roughly the same meaning, even in different drawings. For example, even when referring to the same desk, "Desk (210)" will primarily refer to Figure 2, and "Desk (510)" will primarily refer to Figure 5.

[0048] (2. Description of the embodiment) An embodiment of the present invention (hereinafter referred to as "the device") will be described.

[0049] 2.1. Scenarios in which the embodiment may be used This device is intended to be used in situations where droplet infection is a concern, such as when people are gathered around a desk to communicate. For this reason, this device is particularly suited to being placed next to a desk. This scenario is explained using Figure 2.

[0050] As shown in Fig. 2, when this device, an air purifying device (209), is placed beside a desk (210), the intake opening (203) is located near the height of the head of a person sitting at the desk, and the exhaust opening is located on the bottom surface of the device near the floor and near the front edge. This allows droplets exhaled by the person sitting at the desk to gather near the horizontal center of the desk, and forms an airflow path that draws the gathered air through the intake opening, improving purification efficiency.

[0051] (2.2. Explanation of the formation of air flow paths outside the device) In this section, we will explain the air flow paths or flow lines that the device forms outside the device using Figures 3 to 6. Note that the isobars and other lines shown in the drawings referenced in this section are qualitative, and when actually measured, they have properties that can vary greatly depending on the structure of the room, the arrangement of furniture, the temperature, the density of the object surfaces, and other factors.

[0052] (2.2.1. Effect of the distance between high and low pressure points on airflow) Normally, if we were to conduct a rigorous analysis of air flow lines, we would use vector analysis based on fluid mechanics. However, because droplets exhaled by humans are tiny and do not affect flow lines easily, and because airflow can be understood visually and from multiple angles (where isobars are dense, this means that the airflow is fast), we will focus on air pressure distribution and use isobars as a clue to proceed with our analysis.

[0053] Here, we will first assume that there are two high pressure points and two low pressure points in free space, and then consider the changes in airflow when elements that gradually suppress the airflow are added to that space, and look at the changes in the isobars in this order.

[0054] [Virtual state 1] First, consider "virtual state 1" in which one low pressure point (311) and one high pressure point (312) appear in free space, as shown in Figure 3(A). In this case, divergence occurs at the high pressure point and convergence occurs at the low pressure point.

[0055] The striped pattern shown here is what is known as isobars. Since this is free space, the isobars are densely packed in a straight line connecting high pressure points to low pressure points, and the strongest air currents appear. Also, since the surroundings gradually approach atmospheric pressure as they move away, the isobars become hyperbolic, and become more spaced apart as they move away from the high and low pressure points.

[0056] [Virtual state 2] However, as shown in Figure 3(B), if we consider "hypothetical state 2" in which a high pressure point (316) and a low pressure point (315) appear near the positions that divide the long side of a rectangular parallelepiped panel (317) in a ratio of 1:2 from both ends of the short sides, the appearance of the isobars changes completely. In other words, because the flow speed decreases above the flat plate due to the viscosity of the air, a high-speed flow path (318) is created away from the flat plate.

[0057] [Virtual state 3] Next, let us consider the situation of "Virtual State 3" where the distance between the high pressure point and the low pressure point is increased, using Figure 4. If the air pressure at the high pressure point (420) and the low pressure point (419) shown in Figure 4(A) is left unchanged and the high pressure point is moved further downward in the drawing, and the distance between the two points is increased as shown in Figure 4(B), the interval between the isobars in the original high speed flow path will increase.

[0058] [Virtual state 4] On the other hand, if the distance between the high and low pressure points remains the same as in virtual state 3, and the high pressure point (421) is placed at the end point of the flat plate (422), and a floor surface (423) is added, the isobars centered on the high pressure part appear to be collapsed. This is because, like the plate surface, the wind speed decreases on the floor surface, with the friction of the floor surface and the viscosity of the air as parameters.

[0059] [Virtual states 2-2, 4-2] Now consider the situation where a desk (510) is placed between the high and low pressure points. The desk is also based on a flat plate, so like the panel (317) above, it is assumed that the wind speed on its surface decreases with friction and air viscosity as parameters, and the pressure gradient decreases. If this is the case, then if the high and low pressure points remain in virtual state 2, then isobars will be drawn on the desk surface (524) that roughly follow the surface, as shown in Figure 5(A), and if the high and low pressure points are in virtual state 5, then isobars will be drawn on the desk surface (524) that roughly follow the surface, as shown in Figure 5(B).

[0060] Here, we compare virtual state 2-2 and virtual state 4-2. In virtual state 2-2, a high pressure point (316) and a low pressure point (315) are placed approximately 1:2 from the ends of both short sides of the long side of the front panel, and the air pressure on the desk is approximately the same as atmospheric pressure. In contrast, in virtual state 4-2, it can be seen that an air pressure lower than atmospheric pressure can be maintained over the entire surface of the desk.

[0061] This is because, although the distance between the low pressure point and the desk is constant in both virtual states 2-2 and 4-2, the high pressure point is far away in virtual state 4-2, so the pressure gradient between them is small. In addition, the air movement on the surface of the fixed object is small due to the effect of friction caused by the air viscosity on the surface of the fixed object, so the isobars shown in the figure are drawn.

[0062] So far, we have considered the existence of high and low pressure points. Next, we will consider the air pressure distribution on the desk when it is installed in the device.

[0063] Generally, to realize high and low pressure, pumps or fans are used. Among them, in this device, a blower such as a fan is used. And, since the air flow path cannot exist as a point, it is implemented in the device as a window. In reality, the intake opening described later is the low pressure point, and the exhaust opening is the high pressure point. In this embodiment described in detail later, the exhaust opening and the intake opening are implemented as horizontally long openings as shown in Figure 1, so the air pressure distribution on the desk will be explained based on this premise. However, since the viscosity of the air and strong friction affect the direct surface of the desk and there is almost no air flow rate, here we will consider the air pressure distribution about several centimeters above the desk.

[0064] On a virtual plane several centimeters above the desk, the pressure distribution is expected to be as shown in Figure 6. That is, in virtual state 2-2 above, the pressure near the desk is almost the same as atmospheric pressure, so the pressure gradient is small and air movement is thought to be slight. In contrast, in virtual state 4-2, the pressure near the center of the desk is low, while the pressure around the desk is close to atmospheric pressure, so the pressure gradient on this virtual plane is large and a strong wind can be expected to blow toward the center of the desk. If there is such a strong wind above the desk, it can be expected that droplets exhaled by a person sitting in front of the desk will be caught by this wind and efficiently absorbed.

[0065] (2.2.2. Mounting high voltage points on this device) As explained above, if the high pressure point and the low pressure point are far apart, the device can more strongly suck in the air around the desk. However, it is expected that the air pressure distribution around the desk can be further adjusted by not only adjusting the distance between the high pressure point and the low pressure point, but also by improving the mounting of the high pressure point. This will be explained using Figure 7.

[0066] As mentioned above, in order to implement a high pressure point, an exhaust opening with a certain area is necessary. Considering the relationship that the pressure gradient is large in areas where the wind is strong and small in areas where the wind is weak, it is natural that the direction of the wind blowing out from this exhaust opening affects the pressure distribution outside the device.

[0067] That is, if the angle (735) between the direction of the exhaust air (794) blowing out from the exhaust opening (707) provided on the lower front edge of the air purifier (709) and the normal to the floor surface on which the device is installed is acute, the pressure gradient between the floor and the device will be greater, which means that the height at which atmospheric pressure is reached in front of the device will be lower. Since the horizontal plane generally coincides with the installation floor (723), if the opening that will be high pressure when the device is installed is at the bottom, the main direction of the exhaust air will be toward the floor, and it is presumed that the pressure near the desk can be kept even lower.

[0068] In other words, if the structure around the exhaust opening is designed to blow out the exhaust in the normal direction to the exhaust opening surface, and as a result the angle between this normal and the floor surface exceeds 45 degrees, it will contribute to lowering the pressure near the desk.

[0069] For these reasons, when designing and implementing the device, (1) The exhaust opening and the intake opening are as far apart as possible. (2) The wind blowing out of the exhaust opening has a large component blowing toward the floor. This is an important point.

[0070] (2.3. Configuration Related to the Embodiment) In light of the above considerations, the configuration of an air purifying device (109) according to an embodiment of the present invention will be described. Here, the external appearance will be mainly described using FIG. 1, and the internal structure will be mainly described using FIG. 8.

[0071] (2.3.1. Description of the Outline of Appearance) As shown in Fig. 1, the air purifying device (109) has a generally rectangular parallelepiped appearance and includes a pressure reducing section (101) at the rear, an intake acceleration chamber forming material (105) at the upper front surface of the pressure reducing section, and an exhaust flow forming material (106) at the lower front surface of the pressure reducing section. An intake opening (103) is provided near the center of the intake acceleration chamber forming material (105), i.e., at the front surface of the upper part of the device, and an exhaust opening (107) is provided near the bottom of the exhaust flow forming material (106), i.e., at the lower part of the device. The air purifying device (109) is partitioned by the intake acceleration chamber forming material (105), the intake acceleration chamber forming material outer periphery spacer (149), the exhaust flow forming material (106), the exhaust flow forming material side spacer (148), the pressure reducing section (101), etc., so that a pressure reducing chamber (147), an intake acceleration chamber (145), and an airflow direction adjustment chamber (146) are formed inside. These will be explained separately below.

[0072] (2.3.2. Description of components) [Intake acceleration chamber forming material / Outer spacer for intake acceleration chamber forming material] The intake acceleration chamber forming member (105) is a rectangular plate-shaped member, and has an intake opening (103) located approximately at the upper center of the front surface of the device. An operation panel opening (102) is also provided near the upper front surface so that an operation panel attached to the upper portion of the pressure reducing section (101) can be reached. As will be described later, it is desirable to provide a seal material (not shown) between the operation panel opening (102) and the pressure reducing section (101) to prevent air leakage around the opening.

[0073] In addition, intake acceleration chamber forming material outer peripheral spacers (149) are provided near the four edge ends of the intake acceleration chamber forming material (105) to maintain a certain distance from the pressure reduction section, and these abut against the front surface of the pressure reduction section (101), so that an intake acceleration chamber (145) is formed between the pressure reduction section and the intake acceleration chamber forming material (105).

[0074] [Air intake opening] The intake opening (103, 803) is an opening provided near the center of the intake acceleration chamber forming material (105), and is located near the top of the device during operation, allowing air to be sucked in from outside the device to inside. When the device is placed on the floor and operated, it is desirable to position the intake opening (103) at a height of approximately 1 m. This is because it acts to suck up droplets exhaled when a person sits in front of the device and talks. The "Summary of the Results of the Saitama Prefecture / 2003 School Health Statistics Survey" listed in the above-mentioned [Non-Patent Document 1] is a useful reference for designing the height of the intake opening when installing the device.

[0075] The intake opening (103, 803) may be a single hole, but for safety reasons, it is preferable to provide a punched plate to prevent human contact with the inside. Since this is for security reasons, it is acceptable to use other configurations such as a mesh plate or a grill instead of a punched plate.

[0076] The shape of the intake opening (103, 803) may be a horizontally long rectangle, but may also be an array of multiple circular or polygonal openings. In the latter case, the entire surface enclosed by the envelope of the multiple openings functions as the intake opening.

[0077] By providing multiple openings and attaching a grill to each opening, it becomes possible to draw in concentrated air in various directions. In this case, even if there are complicated fixtures arranged in the space outside the device, appropriate air intake can be achieved.

[0078] As will be explained in the section on the intake acceleration chamber below, the intake air speed can be adjusted by adjusting the area of the intake opening. Therefore, by making the punch plate attached to the opening replaceable, it is possible to change the opening rate or distribute patterns with different opening rates to accommodate a variety of desk shapes.

[0079] However, in the unlikely event that a person is present close to the intake opening (803), there is a risk that hair may be drawn into the device. The hair that is drawn in will likely remain inside the intake acceleration chamber, but since it is undesirable to pull out hair that has already been drawn in again, it is desirable to have a mechanism to prevent this near the intake opening (803).

[0080] Therefore, the air intake opening (103, 803) of the device is provided with a pre-filter (837). The pre-filter is, for example, an air cleaning filter made of a coarse porous material, and is designed to prevent the intrusion of relatively large particles such as hair and lint.

[0081] For example, if a punch plate is provided at the intake opening (803), the pre-filter is provided in contact with the inner surface of the punch plate. This makes it possible to prevent hair from being drawn into the device. Meanwhile, this position is on the upwind side of the main filter (838), which will be described later. The main filter (838) captures and removes minute dust particles, and by adopting such a two-stage structure as an air cleaning filter, the dust removal load on the main filter can be reduced, and the dust removal performance of the device can be maintained.

[0082] [Exhaust flow shaper / Exhaust flow shaper side spacer] The exhaust flow forming member (106, 806) is also a roughly rectangular plate-like member. Of the four sides, spacers are provided near the edges of three sides that will be on both sides and the top during operation to maintain a certain distance from the pressure reducing section, and these are adapted to abut against the pressure reducing section (101).

[0083] The exhaust flow forming member (106, 806) does not have spacers for sealing along all four sides. Spacers are provided along the top and side edges, but no spacers are provided at the edge of the bottom edge, or only a part of the spacer is provided.

[0084] As a result, an airflow direction adjustment chamber (146, 846) is formed between the surface of the pressure reduction section and the exhaust airflow forming member (106, 806), and an exhaust opening (107, 807) is also formed. When a spacer with a portion cut out is placed on the bottom, the exhaust airflow direction (194) from the airflow direction adjustment chamber (146, 846) can be adjusted depending on its shape.

[0085] In this manner, a ventilation chamber (146) is formed having an exhaust opening (107, 807) located generally at the bottom edge of the apparatus.

[0086] Of the spacers attached to the exhaust flow forming material (106, 806), it is desirable that the exhaust flow forming material side spacers (148, 848) placed on both sides have a shape that widens toward the bottom so that the exhaust flow can be smoothly discharged as an air flow from the exhaust opening near the bottom.

[0087] [Reduced pressure section] The pressure reducing section (101) is based on a hollow rectangular parallelepiped case, and is capable of creating a negative pressure inside. This will be described with reference to FIG.

[0088] The pressure reducing section (801) has at least two openings on the same side of the hollow housing, and is equipped with at least one blower (857) so as to create a negative pressure outside the housing at the upper opening (856) and a positive pressure outside the housing at the lower opening (839). Because it is a hollow housing, it is possible to place the necessary control circuits, etc. inside.

[0089] The blower (857) is attached to the decompression chamber (847) and can generate an air flow between two openings provided in the decompression chamber. For layout reasons to fit the decompression section into the panel shape, it is preferable to use, for example, a turbofan as the blower.

[0090] In terms of layout, the location of the blower (857) is preferably near the lower opening, but the location is not limited to this and the blower may be located anywhere as long as it forms an air flow path from the intake acceleration chamber to the air flow direction adjustment chamber.

[0091] In addition, a main filter (838) is provided near the upper opening of the decompression section. The main filter (838) uses, for example, a HEPA filter or a ULPA filter to capture and remove fine dust particles.

[0092] Here, a HEPA filter (High Efficiency Particulate Air Filter) is an air filter that has a particle collection efficiency of 99.97% or more for particles with a diameter of 0.3 μm at the rated flow rate, and an initial pressure loss of 245 Pa or less, as specified by the JIS Z 8122 2000 standard.

[0093] In addition, a ULPA filter (Ultra-Low Penetration Air Filter) is an air filter that has a particle collection efficiency of 99.9995% or more for particles with a diameter of 0.15 μm at the rated flow rate and has an initial pressure loss of 245 Pa or less.

[0094] If the primary purpose of using this device is to prevent droplet infection, then installing a HEPA filter will be sufficient.

[0095] [Exhaust opening / exhaust space forming spacer] The exhaust opening (107) is provided near the bottom end of the exhaust flow forming material, and as described above (2.2. Explanation of the formation of air flow paths outside the device), it is desirable to place it as far away from the intake opening as possible. However, if the exhaust opening is placed too close to the floor, the air will not be discharged, the air flow rate will decrease, and this will be disadvantageous for the formation of a high-pressure section. Therefore, it is necessary to ensure a certain distance between the floor and the exhaust opening. Since this device places importance on keeping the pressure gradient low due to its geometric characteristics, it is desirable to set the exhaust opening distance above the floor so that the wind speed from the exhaust opening at the time of design can be maintained.

[0096] To achieve this, spacers can be placed at the bottom of the device. Specifically, by placing the exhaust space forming separators (108-1, 108-2) near the bottom of the pressure reducing section, which has the largest unit weight, the device can be installed stably and the wind speed as designed can be secured.

[0097] This point will be explained in detail using Figure 10. In order to secure the designed wind speed / air pressure, it is necessary to follow Bernoulli's theorem and avoid a situation in which a narrower air flow path is formed outside the exhaust opening. Specifically, it is necessary to secure a sufficient distance (193) above the floor of the exhaust opening so that a wider space than the exhaust opening can be secured in front of the device.

[0098] Since the area from the blower to the exhaust opening is sealed by the exhaust flow forming material and the spacer, the positive pressure air generated by the blower reaches the exhaust opening and flows out from there as exhaust air. If the exhaust opening (1007) is rectangular with a long side less than the length of the bottom side of the exhaust flow forming material and a short side the length of the exhaust opening depth width (1092), the flow rate of air passing through this opening area can flow smoothly in a place with a wider passing area than this. Considering the air flow path where the air coming out of the exhaust opening escapes from the front surface of the bottom of the device, in order to ensure a smooth air flow path, it is sufficient for the area of the gap on the front surface of the bottom of the device to be larger than the area of the exhaust opening. Considering that the area of this gap and the exhaust opening have roughly the same long side, it is sufficient for the exhaust opening distance above the floor (1093) to be longer than the exhaust opening depth width (1092). In other words, the height of the exhaust space forming spacers (108-1, 108-2) needs to be greater than the exhaust opening depth width (1092). Note that if a fixing allowance (1071) is provided to fix the exhaust flow forming material, the exhaust flow forming material side spacers, etc., the exhaust opening above floor distance (1093) can be determined including this allowance.

[0099] Furthermore, by attaching casters to the exhaust space forming spacers (108-1, 108-2), the installation position of the device itself can be freely moved.

[0100] In addition, although the description has been given assuming that the exhaust opening (107) is rectangular, the same applies to openings of other shapes.

[0101] [Operation Panel] The operation panel (855) is installed in front of the pressure reducing section (801) and can be operated directly by hand through an opening (102) for the operation panel provided in front of the intake acceleration chamber forming material (105). The operation panel allows the blower (857) to be turned on / off and the degree of negative pressure generated by the blower to be adjusted. Of course, a timer for setting the time when the blower operates may also be installed. The parts to be operated on the operation panel are connected to a control circuit (not shown) to control the operation of the blower.

[0102] (2.3.3. Description of the space formed when the components are assembled) When the components described in the previous section are assembled, at least three spaces are formed, including an intake acceleration chamber (845), a decompression chamber (847), and an airflow direction adjustment chamber (846). These will be described below with reference to Figure 8, and particularly Figure 8(B).

[0103] [Decompression chamber] As described above, the space formed inside the housing of the pressure reduction section (801), i.e., the pressure reduction chamber (847), which may be called the intake flow generating section, is formed on the rear side of the device and is configured to generate an air flow from the upper opening to the lower opening.

[0104] [Intake acceleration chamber] The intake acceleration chamber (845) is a space surrounded by the intake acceleration chamber forming material (805), the intake acceleration chamber forming material outer peripheral spacer (849), the front surface of the pressure reduction section (801), and the operation panel opening sealing (159, 859), and this space is ventilated to the pressure reduction chamber (847) via the prefilter (837) and main filter (838), and to the outside world of the device via the intake opening (803).

[0105] Here, when the area of the upper opening (856) connected to the pressure reducing section is larger than the area of the intake opening (803), the intake air can be accelerated by the speed of the air flow passing through the filter according to the equation of continuity. In general, if the width of a desk used in a meeting corner is about 90 cm to 1 m, it is preferable that the intake opening is a rectangle of about 65 to 75 cm (width) x 8 to 10 cm (length), which forms an appropriate intake flow path.

[0106] [Wind direction adjustment room] The airflow direction adjustment chamber (846) is a space surrounded by the exhaust airflow forming member (806), the front surface of the pressure reducing section (801), and the spacers (148, 848) on the sides of the exhaust airflow forming member, and the air pressurized by the blower flows through the airflow direction adjustment chamber (846) in search of an outlet. Therefore, the air is exhausted from the exhaust opening (807), which is the only outlet for the air.

[0107] Incidentally, the blower creates high pressure on the airflow control chamber (846) side, but this is achieved by imparting momentum to the air mass passing through the blower. Therefore, in order to reduce energy loss in the airflow control chamber, it is important to smoothly change the direction of this momentum. For this reason, in this device, it is desirable that the exhaust flow forming material (806) on the front side of the airflow control chamber be designed to have a slope that widens the space toward the bottom when the device is installed.

[0108] The presence of such a slope not only directs the air flow in the direction in which the cross section expands, making the change in momentum direction simpler, but also geometrically increases the distance between the intake and exhaust openings on the exterior of the device, which is advantageous for maintaining air flow over a desk placed in front of the device.

[0109] To provide such a slope in the device using the exhaust flow shaper (806), it is sufficient to make the exhaust flow shaper side spacers (848) shaped like a trapezoid that widens toward the bottom.

[0110] (2.4. Operation According to the Embodiment) Next, the operation of this device will be briefly explained mainly with reference to FIG.

[0111] (2.4.1. Air movement within the device) First, when an operator issues an instruction to operate the apparatus via the operation panel (855), a control circuit (not shown) operates the blower (857), thereby reducing the air pressure in the decompression chamber (847).

[0112] As the air pressure in the decompression chamber drops, the decompression chamber draws in the air in the intake acceleration chamber (845) through the pre-filter (837) and main filter (838). If the ratio of the area of the upper opening (856) of the decompression chamber to the area of the intake opening (803) on the front side is less than 1, the outside air is taken in through the upper opening (856) at a higher wind speed than the air flowing in through the decompression chamber. The taken-in outside air passes through the pre-filter (837) and main filter (838), so the air that enters the decompression chamber is purified.

[0113] The air that has been purified through the pre-filter (837) and the main filter (838) flows down in the pressure reduction chamber (847) due to the action of the blower (857), and then flows through a lower opening (839) at the bottom of the pressure reduction section (801) into the airflow direction adjustment chamber (846).

[0114] The air that enters the air direction control room (846) is at positive pressure due to the action of the blower, and so according to the continuity equation, it is discharged directly from the exhaust opening (894). The discharged air moves the outside air in the vicinity.

[0115] (2.4.2. Air movement outside the device) As mentioned above, this device creates an airflow from the intake opening to the exhaust opening. Correspondingly, outside the device, the air coming out of the exhaust opening circulates around the room and then flows back in through the intake opening. This will be explained using Figure 11, which shows the airflow in the usage scenario shown in Figure 2.

[0116] The air discharged from the exhaust opening flows out from the space under the desk. Because the air is discharged from a position away from the intake opening (1103), a pressure lower than atmospheric pressure is maintained over a wide area of the space above the desk, although the pressure gradient is small, and a gentle airflow (1162, 1163, 1166) is maintained that passes through the space between people.

[0117] On the other hand, the airflow (1164) that wraps around the edge of the desk on the opposite side to the device has a small difference with the atmospheric pressure, and the flow rate is kept low.

[0118] As shown in Figure 2 or Figure 11, in a situation where people are sitting around a desk talking face to face, the exhaled droplets spread and move forward in front of each person. In other words, droplets fly towards the center of the desk from each person. Although the size of the exhaled droplets varies, sublimation of moisture from the surface begins immediately after exhalation. Small droplets are light and head directly towards the air intake opening of this device. Large droplets are heavy and begin to fall towards the center of the desk without being able to completely sublimate, but since an air current that rises is formed near the center of the desk, droplets that have become heavy enough to be carried by the air current after moderate sublimation begin to rise from here and head towards the air intake opening of this device.

[0119] The device operates in this manner and thus contributes to reducing the spread of droplets.

[0120] The above explanation was given assuming that a desk was installed, but as shown in [Virtual State 4], even without a desk, the pressure gradient in front of the device is small, so negative pressure is maintained over a wide area. Even in such a scenario, appropriate droplet treatment effects can be expected.

[0121] (3. Modifications and Others) (3.1. Intake grill) In the above embodiment, a mesh plate or a punch plate is attached to the intake opening, but a plurality of vanes may be provided to give directionality to the intake air flow. This makes it possible to change the pressure gradient distribution above the desk.

[0122] Furthermore, by semi-fixing such multiple blades to the grill frame, the directionality of the intake air flow can be freely changed, making it possible to freely adapt to the shape of a desk placed nearby.

[0123] Furthermore, by forming a plurality of grilles into a unit and making it detachable from the intake opening, it becomes possible to quickly respond when replacing desks placed nearby.

[0124] (3.2. Adjustment of the distance above the floor of the exhaust opening of the airflow control room) The airflow direction adjustment chamber is a buffer chamber from the blower to the exhaust opening, and as mentioned above, based on the equation of continuity, the air moved by the blower is discharged directly from the exhaust opening unless there is air leakage at the component connections, etc. The amount of air circulated by this device can be determined at the time of device design by adjusting the height of the spacer and the blower's air volume.

[0125] The position of the exhaust opening in this device changes depending on the height of the lower end of the exhaust flow forming material, as shown in Figures 9(A) and (B). Even if it becomes necessary to change the position of the exhaust opening, including the shape of the pressure reducing section, the exhaust space forming spacer height (952) can be adjusted according to the height of the exhaust flow forming material, so design freedom is maintained. For example, when changing the material of the components such as the exhaust flow forming material that forms the outer casing of the air direction control room, it may become necessary to change the width of the fixing margin (1071) accordingly. This makes it easy to make design changes in such cases.

[0126] (3.3. Exhaust Air Direction Forced Flap) This device is installed indoors and exhausts air from a part of the bottom of the device or from the entire surface, but depending on the installation location, the back of the device may be located in a corner of the room. Since dust tends to accumulate in the corners of a room, there is a risk that the device will stir up dust. To address this issue, a flap (951) as shown in Figure 9(C) can be installed near the rear of the exhaust opening to limit the airflow blowing in to the back.

[0127] (3.4. Operation Panel) In order to prevent unnecessary air leakage from the opening for the operation panel provided in the intake acceleration chamber forming material (105), an operation panel may be provided on the front side of the intake acceleration chamber forming material (105) and electrical wiring may be connected from here to the decompression chamber.

[0128] By the way, the operation panel of this device is located on the front of the device. Of course, there is a design option to place it on the side of the device. However, while this device is designed to have a desk placed in front of it, there are times when it is desired to use it in a meeting situation with a larger desk. In such cases, multiple devices can be arranged side-by-side. When considering such usage, placing the operation panel on the front of the device is advantageous when operating all of the devices.

[0129] (3.5. Check for clogged filters) As mentioned above, a pre-filter is provided before the main filter, which makes it difficult for large particles of dust to clog the main filter, but the presence of the pre-filter makes it difficult to visually check how clogged the main filter is. For this reason, if a pressure difference gauge is provided on the operation panel to notify the user that it is time to replace the main filter when the pressure difference between the decompression chamber and the outside air, or between the decompression chamber and the intake acceleration chamber, exceeds a certain level, this will improve ease of maintenance.

[0130] (3.6. Angle of the airflow discharged from the exhaust opening with respect to the floor surface) As described above (2.2.2. Mounting of the high pressure point in this device), it is desirable for the air discharged from the exhaust opening to be at an angle of 45 degrees or less with respect to the floor surface. This angle is largely dependent on the angle that the exhaust flow forming material (106) that forms the air direction control chamber makes with the floor surface, and the position of the lower opening (839) in the air direction control chamber (146). Therefore, if the air discharged from the exhaust opening is less than 45 degrees with respect to the floor surface, a flap grill consisting of multiple semi-fixed blades may be placed at the exhaust opening to force the exhaust to be at an angle of 45 degrees or more.

[0131] (3.7. Molding of Some Components) In the above explanations, the intake acceleration chamber (145) has been described as having an intake acceleration chamber-forming material (105) and an intake acceleration chamber-forming material outer peripheral spacer (149) separate parts, but this is not limiting and they may be integrally molded by bending sheet metal, etc. Similarly, for the airflow direction adjustment chamber (146), the exhaust flow forming material (106) and the exhaust flow forming material side edge spacer (148), as well as the spacer attached to the upper edge, do not have to be integrally molded.

[0132] (3.8. Modifications of the Pre-Filter Installation Position) From the viewpoint of safety, it is desirable to place the pre-filter (837) immediately after the intake opening and the main filter (838) immediately after the upper opening (856), as shown in FIG.

[0133] However, considering that the pressure loss in the filter is reduced when the entire surface of the rectangular parallelepiped prefilter is used for intake and exhaust, the prefilter and main filter may be integrated into an integrated module and placed immediately after the upper opening (856). In this case, however, in order to maintain safety, it is preferable to provide a separate coarse porous filter with low air resistance at the intake opening, even if it is thin.

[0134] When emphasis is placed on the thinness of the device, the pre-filter may be held so as to be sandwiched between the upper opening (856) and the intake acceleration chamber forming material (805).

[0135] (4. Correspondence between claims and embodiments) The "filter" in claim 1 corresponds to the main filter (838) described above (2.3.3. Description of the space formed when the components are assembled).

[0136] The "intake aperture" corresponds to the upper opening (856) described above (2.3.3. Description of the space formed when the components are assembled). The "exhaust aperture" corresponds to the lower opening (839) described above (2.3.3. Description of the space formed when the components are assembled).

[0137] Claim 4 The formation that increases the component of the wind speed vector toward the floor surface described above corresponds to the "exhaust shaping material," or the "exhaust shaping material" and "flap grill" described above (3.6. Regarding the angle of the air flow discharged from the exhaust opening with respect to the floor surface).

[0138] In addition, the claims of the present application and the embodiments described in this specification generally use the same titles. However, the interpretation of each claim follows what is described in the [Means for solving the problem] column, and the positional relationship and shape of each member described in each embodiment, as well as whether or not multiple members are integrated, are not limited to this description.
