[0011] In the industry, the passive optical network (PON) has been regarded as the future development direction of the access network. On the one hand, it is generally considered promising for solving the problem of broadband access because the bandwidth it provides can meet the current and future demands of various broadband services. On the other hand, its cost is relatively low in terms of device cost and operation and maintenance expenses. With the popularization of 5G technology, various applications requiring high bandwidth are constantly appearing like bamboo shoots after a rain, which has put higher requirements on the data transmission of the central office side equipment of the optical line terminal (OLT), especially for long-distance communication. Therefore, the OLT uses an optical module with high transmission optical power and high receiving sensitivity to transmit and receive optical signals.
[0012] Usually, the receiving end of the optical module uses an avalanche photodiode to receive the optical signal. When the APD performance in the optical module deteriorates, the sensitivity of the APD to receive the optical signal decreases, the index threshold of the normal operation of the optical network unit ONU that transmits the optical signal with the optical module of the OLT increases, and some or all of the ONUs may not be online, and the ONUs may repeatedly go online and offline. Maintenance personnel cannot discover the deterioration of the APD performance of the optical module first, and only when a user complains that a network malfunction occurs can the maintenance personnel intervene to replace the faulty optical module, and only after performing a material expiration analysis on the faulty optical module can the APD in the optical module be determined to be deteriorated. Therefore, how to timely discover the deterioration of the APD of the optical module and reduce the impact of the deterioration of the APD performance on the normal operation of the optical network is an urgent problem to be solved.
[0013] One or more embodiments of the present application aim to provide an APD performance detection method, device, optical network, and medium used in an optical module, which can timely detect degradation of the APD of an optical module and reduce the impact of APD performance degradation on the normal operation of the optical network.
[0014] The APD performance detection method for an optical module according to the embodiment of the present application is applied to an optical network including an optical module and an optical network unit (ONU), and can timely detect the APD performance of the optical module, avoiding the failure of the optical network caused by the inability to timely detect the APD performance degradation after it affects the normal use of the user, and reducing the impact on the normal operation of the optical network. The APD performance detection method for an optical module according to the present specification and each step thereof will be described in detail below.
[0015] In addition, the optical network used in the APD performance detection method for the optical module of the embodiment of the present application may be a passive optical network (PON), the optical module refers to the optical module of the OLT, the ONU ID may be an ONU ID registered in the same PON port, or an ONU ID not registered in the same PON port, and the OLT only needs to assign one ONU ID to a virtual unit that does not actually exist, and the optical module can receive the optical signal transmitted from the ONU ID using an avalanche photodiode.
[0016] In the first embodiment, as shown in FIG. 1, a schematic diagram of the steps of the APD performance detection method used in the optical module according to the embodiment of the present application is applied to an optical network including an optical module, and the APD performance of the optical module is detected and easily operated by using the detected ONU ID. The APD performance detection method used in the optical module includes the following steps:
[0017] Step 10: Select at least one ONU ID as the detected ONU ID.
[0018] An ONU existing in an optical network can perform optical communication with an optical module of an OLT, for example, the number of ONUs in a PON may be multiple, and the optical module in an optical line termination OLT may be one. Selecting an ONU existing in an optical network as a detected ONU ID may be performed by selecting one or multiple ONUs as a detected ONU ID, and in order to facilitate detection, the optical module may be used to detect the received optical power of one detected ONU ID in the same time period each time, or the optical module may be used to detect the received optical power of multiple detected ONU IDs in different time periods, thereby improving the accuracy of the APD performance detection result of an optical module.
[0019] If the detection ONU ID is used as a detection tool for detecting the APD performance of the optical module, the step of determining whether the APD performance has deteriorated can be completed with only a simple logical determination, and the detection operation is simple.
[0020] For simplicity, the selection principle for selecting at least one ONU ID as the detected ONU ID may be to arbitrarily select a used ONU registered in a PON port or an available ONU not registered in a PON port, or an ONU ID may be assigned by the OLT in a virtual unit that does not actually exist.
[0021] Step 20: Allocate bandwidth to the detected ONU ID and enable bandwidth.
[0022] For the detected ONU ID, a corresponding transmission container T-CONT is arranged. The ALLOC ID of the T-CONT is also not used in the same PON port. Then, based on the T-CONT, a corresponding bandwidth is allocated to the detected ONU ID and the bandwidth is enabled. The detected ONU ID occupies an upstream time slot to perform subsequent detection. For example, the OLT sends a trigger signal to the optical module, and the optical module obtains the optical power of the corresponding detected ONU ID, and judges whether a situation occurs in which the APD performance of the optical module is degraded based on the optical power.
[0023] Step 30: Obtain the optical power received by the optical module for the detected ONU ID.
[0024] In the process of normal operation of an optical module in an optical network, a dark current exists, and the dark current can be used to detect the optical power received by the optical module for the detected ONU ID, thereby identifying whether the performance of the APD in the optical module has deteriorated. In particular, when the performance of the APD in the optical module has deteriorated, the resistance increases, the current decreases, and the optical power received by the optical module changes accordingly.
[0025] The received optical power may be obtained using another device, or after the optical module obtains the received optical power, it may be transmitted to the OLT, and the OLT may complete the subsequent step of determining whether the APD performance has deteriorated.
[0026] Step 40: Determine whether the performance of the APD in the optical module has deteriorated based on the received optical power.
[0027] Naturally, the step of determining whether or not the APD performance has deteriorated may be completed within the optical module, or a warning such as an alarm may be generated for an optical module in which the APD performance has deteriorated, and in order to avoid improvements to the optical module, the determination of whether or not the performance of the APD in the optical module has deteriorated based on the received light power may be completed in the OLT, and is not limited thereto.
[0028] The criteria can be based on standards for APD performance degradation in industry optical module specifications.
[0029] The APD performance detection method used in the optical module according to the embodiment of the present application is to manually start the APD performance detection operation of the optical module when an abnormality occurs in the optical network, which has the disadvantage of being late in finding the problem and the advantage of not occupying optical network resources. The detection method can also be automatically started when the optical network is operating normally, detect in real time, find the optical module that shows the deterioration of APD performance, and issue a timely alarm, so as to find and solve the problem in a timely manner, and the disadvantage is that it needs to occupy some optical network resources. In practical applications, corresponding configurations can be made according to different detection needs.
[0030] In some embodiments, as shown in FIG. 2, before step 30: obtaining the optical module's received optical power for the detected ONU ID, the APD performance detection method according to the embodiments of the present application further includes:
[0031] Step 50: Trigger the optical module to obtain the received optical power for the detected ONU ID.
[0032] When performing normal operation, the optical module in the optical network does not need to acquire the receiving power for the detected ONU ID, so before acquiring the receiving power of the optical module for the detected ONU ID, a trigger trig signal is sent from the OLT, and the optical module itself is triggered to acquire the receiving power for the detected ONU ID, so there is no need for other devices to acquire the receiving power of the optical module for the detected ONU ID.
[0033] In some embodiments, as shown in FIG. 3 , in the APD performance detection method according to the embodiment of the present application, step 40: determining whether the performance of the APD in the optical module has deteriorated based on the received optical power specifically includes:
[0034] Step 400: If the received optical power is within a first preset threshold range, it is determined that the performance of the APD of the optical module has deteriorated.
[0035] After obtaining the optical power of the optical module for the detected ONU ID, it is determined whether the APD performance of the optical module has deteriorated based on the optical power, and a first threshold range is set to be greater than or equal to -35 dBm and less than or equal to -5 dBm. If the optical power is within the first threshold range, it is determined that the APD performance of the optical module has deteriorated.
[0036] The first preset threshold range may be set based on a standard set forth in an optical module specification in the industry.
[0037] In some embodiments, as shown in FIG. 4 , in the APD performance detection method according to the embodiment of the present application, step 40: determining whether the performance of the APD in the optical module has deteriorated based on the received optical power specifically includes:
[0038] Step 410: If the received optical power is within the preset second threshold range, it is determined that the performance of the APD of the optical module is not degraded.
[0039] The preset second threshold range is less than −35 dBm, and if the received optical power is within the preset second threshold range, it is determined that the APD performance of the optical module is not degraded.
[0040] Similarly, the preset second threshold range can be set based on standards and practical applications mentioned in the optical module specifications in the industry.
[0041] In some embodiments, as shown in FIG. 5 , in the APD performance detection method of the embodiment of the present application, at least one ONU ID includes an empty first ONU ID, and step 10: selecting at least one ONU ID as the detected ONU ID specifically includes:
[0042] Step 100: Select a detected ONU ID from the first ONU ID.
[0043] The first ONU ID is an empty ONU ID that is not registered in the optical network and is not activated and used in the optical network. When at least one ONU ID is selected from the first ONU ID as a detected ONU ID, corresponding bandwidth allocation and bandwidth enablement need to be performed for the detected ONU ID.
[0044] An unused ONU ID is searched for. For example, the number of ONU IDs registered to the same PON port is 50, but 128 can be registered to the PON port, so at least one of the 78 free ONU IDs can be used as the detected ONU ID.
[0045] The advantage of selecting at least one of the free first ONU IDs as the detected ONU ID is that the entire detection process does not affect the normal operation of the optical network, and therefore the free first ONU is preferentially selected as the detected ONU ID.
[0046] The following describes in detail the step flow of the APD performance detection method used in the optical module according to the embodiment of the present application as an example.
[0047] 1.1 Select an unused ONU ID.
[0048] Assuming that the same PON port supports the registration of 128 ONU IDs and 64 of them are used, one of the unused 64 ONU IDs is arbitrarily selected as the detected ONU ID.
[0049] 1.2 Allocate an unused T-CONT to the detected ONU ID, allocate bandwidth, and enable bandwidth.
[0050] It is preferable to assign an unused ALLOC ID to the detected ONU ID and allocate bandwidth, and use the same default ALLOC ID as the detected ONU ID number, although other service ALLOC IDs may be used.
[0051] 1.3 Send a trigger signal.
[0052] The OLT transmits a trigger signal for the received optical power to the optical module, causing the optical module to acquire the received optical power for the detected ONU ID.
[0053] 1.4 Acquire the optical power data of the optical module.
[0054] The optical module calculates the received light power value of the detected ONU ID from the optical module received light power register.
[0055] 1.5 Compare the received light power values to make a judgment.
[0056] The received light power value is compared with a first preset threshold range and a second preset threshold range, respectively.
[0057] 1.6 Determine whether the APD of the optical module has deteriorated.
[0058] If the received light power value is within a first threshold range set in advance, it is considered that the APD performance of the optical module has deteriorated, and if the received light power value is within a second threshold range set in advance, it is considered that the APD performance of the optical module has not deteriorated.
[0059] In some embodiments, as shown in FIG. 6 , in the APD performance detection method according to the embodiment of the present application, the optical network further includes a second ONU ID that has already been used, and step 10: selecting at least one ONU ID as the detected ONU ID specifically includes:
[0060] Step 110: Select a detected ONU ID from the second ONU ID.
[0061] At least one of the ONU IDs already used in the optical network is selected as a detection ONU ID, and the detection ONU ID is operating normally as an optical network unit before detection. Therefore, when this type of detection ONU ID is used to perform detection, it will have an impact on the optical network, but the impact on the optical network will be very small depending on the detection time period.
[0062] For example, if the number of ONU IDs registered in the same PON port is 50, one of the 50 ONU IDs is selected as the detected ONU ID, and used to detect whether the APD performance of the optical module has deteriorated.
[0063] Step 120: Turn off the upstream optical signal of the detected ONU ID.
[0064] The OLT transmits an off command to the detected ONU ID, so that, for example, the state of the disable serial number in the PLOAM message is disabled, and the upstream optical signal of the detected ONU ID is turned off.
[0065] The T-CONT of the detected ONU ID is normally allocated and enabled, and a trigger signal is sent to the optical module, which obtains the optical power of the corresponding detected ONU ID according to the trigger signal, and judges whether the APD of the optical module is degraded according to the optical power. After completing the detection, a PLOAM message is sent to the detected ONU ID, and the status of the disable serial number in the PLOAM message is enable, and the transmission of the upstream optical signal of the transmission laser of the detected ONU ID is restored.
[0066] As another example, a step flow of a method for detecting the performance of an APD used in an optical module according to an embodiment of the present application will be described in detail below.
[0067] 1.1 Select an ONU ID in use in the optical network as the detected ONU ID.
[0068] Assuming that the same PON port supports the registration of 128 ONU IDs and 64 ONU IDs have already been registered and used, one ONU ID is arbitrarily selected from the 64 ONU IDs as the detected ONU ID.
[0069] 1.2 Turn off the transmitting laser of the ONU ID.
[0070] The OLT transmits a PLOAM message to the detected ONU ID, and since the state of the disable serial number in the PLOAM message is disabled, the transmitting laser of the detected ONU ID stops transmitting an upstream optical signal.
[0071] 1.3 Perform bandwidth allocation and bandwidth enable for the detected ONU ID.
[0072] For one of the detected ONU IDs, a valid bandwidth allocation is made (preferably using a default ALLOC ID, which is the same as the number of the detected ONU). Other service ALLOC IDs may be used to allocate bandwidth and enable bandwidth.
[0073] 1.4 Send a trigger signal.
[0074] The OLT starts the optical module by transmitting a trigger signal to the optical module, and acquires the optical power received by the optical module for the detected ONU ID.
[0075] 1.5 Acquire the optical power received by the optical module.
[0076] The optical module calculates the optical reception power value of the detected ONU ID from the optical module optical reception power register.
[0077] 1.6 Compare the received light power values to make a judgment.
[0078] The received light power value is compared with a first preset threshold range and a second preset threshold range, respectively.
[0079] 1.7 Determine whether the APD of the optical module has deteriorated.
[0080] If the received light power value is within a first threshold range set in advance, it is considered that the APD performance of the optical module has deteriorated, and if the received light power value is within a second threshold range set in advance, it is considered that the APD performance of the optical module has not deteriorated.
[0081] In some embodiments, as shown in FIG. 7 , when selecting a detection ONU ID from the second ONU, after step 40: determining whether the performance of the APD in the optical module has deteriorated based on the received optical power, the APD performance detection method according to the embodiments of the present application further includes:
[0082] Step 60: Recover the upstream optical signal of the detected ONU ID.
[0083] The OLT activates the transmitting laser of the detected ONU ID and restores the upstream optical signal of the detected ONU ID, so that the ONU can operate normally in the optical network. For example, the OLT transmits a PLOAM message, and the state of the disable serial number in the PLOAM message is enabled, so that the emission of the transmitting laser of the detected ONU ID returns to normal operation.
[0084] As can be seen from this, the OLT realizes the transmission of each control command as the control end, and the step of determining whether the APD performance has deteriorated can be placed in the OLT to obtain the detection result through analysis, so there is almost no improvement to the optical module, and only a slight improvement in the software. Nevertheless, it realizes early detection and early resolution of the situation where the APD performance of the optical module has deteriorated, and prevents problems from occurring in the entire optical network and causing adverse effects such as user complaints.
[0085] As can be seen from the above analysis, the APD performance detection method used in the optical module according to the embodiment of the present application is applied to an optical network including an optical module, and the optical module refers to the optical module of an OLT, and at least one optical network unit identifier ONU ID may be an actually existing ONU ID, for example, an ONU ID registered in the same PON port as the optical module, or may be a virtual ONU that does not actually exist, for example, an ONU ID that is not registered in the PON port, and the OLT can assign an ONU ID without a real one. In order not to affect the normal operation of the optical network, the detected ONU ID may be an ONU ID that is not registered in the same PON port, and after the detected ONU ID is assigned a bandwidth and enabled, when the detected ONU ID occupies an upstream time slot for detection, the optical module's received optical power for the detected ONU ID is obtained, and then the performance of the APD in the optical module is judged to be degraded based on the received optical power. It can be seen from this that the architecture of the optical network itself enables the APD performance of optical modules to be detected in real time, which is convenient to operate, and enables optical modules with degraded APD performance to be found and replaced in a timely manner, thereby reducing the impact of APD performance degradation on the normal operation of the optical network.
[0086] In embodiment 2, as shown in FIG. 8, an APD performance detection apparatus 10 used in an optical module according to an embodiment of the present application is applied to an optical network including an optical module, and the apparatus includes a selection module 100, an allocation module 110, an acquisition module 120 and a judgment module 130.
[0087] The selection module 100 is used for selecting at least one ONU ID as the detected ONU ID.
[0088] An ONU existing in an optical network can perform optical communication with an optical module of an OLT, for example, the number of ONUs in a PON may be multiple, and the optical module in an optical line termination OLT may be one.
[0089] If the detection ONU ID is used as a detection tool for detecting the APD performance of an optical module, there is no need to take the trouble of constructing a new detection device. The step of determining whether the APD performance has deteriorated can be completed at the OLT end with just a simple logical judgment, and the detection operation is simple.
[0090] For simplicity, the selection principle of selecting at least one from the ONUs as the detected ONU ID may be arbitrarily selected from used or unused ONUs registered in the PON port, and the flow of allowing new ONUs to access the optical network is exempted.
[0091] The allocation module 110 is used to allocate and enable bandwidth to the detected ONU ID.
[0092] For the detected ONU ID, a corresponding transmission container T-CONT is arranged.
[0093] The acquisition module 120 acquires the optical power received by the optical module for the detected ONU ID.
[0094] In the process of normal operation of an optical module in an optical network, a dark current exists, and the dark current can be used to detect the optical power received by the optical module for the detected ONU ID, thereby identifying whether the performance of the APD in the optical module has deteriorated. In particular, when the performance of the APD in the optical module has deteriorated, the resistance increases, the current decreases, and the optical power received by the optical module changes accordingly.
[0095] The received optical power may be obtained using another device, or after the optical module obtains the received optical power, it may be transmitted to the OLT, and the OLT may complete the subsequent step of determining whether the APD performance has deteriorated.
[0096] The determination module 130 is used to determine whether the performance of the APD in the optical module has deteriorated based on the received optical power.
[0097] Naturally, the step of determining whether or not the APD performance has deteriorated may be completed within the optical module, or a warning such as an alarm may be generated for an optical module in which the APD performance has deteriorated, and in order to avoid improvements to the optical module, the determination of whether or not the performance of the APD in the optical module has deteriorated based on the received light power may be completed in the OLT, and is not limited thereto.
[0098] The criteria can be based on standards for APD performance degradation in industry optical module specifications.
[0099] The APD performance detection method used in the optical module according to the embodiment of the present application is to manually start the APD performance detection operation of the optical module when an abnormality occurs in the optical network, which has the disadvantage of being late in finding the problem and the advantage of not occupying optical network resources.
[0100] As shown in FIG. 9, the APD performance detection device of the embodiment of the present application further includes a trigger module 140, which is used to trigger the optical module to obtain the received optical power for the detected ONU ID before obtaining the received optical power of the optical module for the detected ONU ID.
[0101] When the optical module in the optical network performs normal operation, it does not need to acquire the optical power received for the detected ONU ID. Therefore, before acquiring the optical power received by the optical module for the detected ONU ID, a trigger trig signal is sent from the OLT, and the optical module itself is triggered to acquire the optical power received for the detected ONU ID. Therefore, there is no need for another device to acquire the optical power received by the optical module for the detected ONU ID, and the detection device is simple and completely compatible with the components in the optical network.
[0102] As can be seen from the above analysis, the APD performance detection method used in the optical module according to the embodiment of the present application is applied to an optical network including an optical module, and the optical module refers to the optical module of an OLT, and at least one optical network unit identifier ONU ID may be an actually existing ONU ID, for example, an ONU ID registered in the same PON port as the optical module, or may be a virtual ONU that does not actually exist, for example, an ONU ID that is not registered in the PON port, and the OLT can assign an ONU ID without a real one.
[0103] 10, in an optical network 1 according to an embodiment of the present application, the optical network 1 includes an APD performance detection device 10 used in the above-mentioned optical module. The APD performance detection device 10 used in the optical module includes a selection module 100, an allocation module 110, an acquisition module 120 and a judgment module 130.
[0104] The selection module 100 is used for selecting at least one ONU ID as the detected ONU ID.
[0105] An ONU existing in an optical network can perform optical communication with an optical module of an OLT, for example, the number of ONUs in a PON may be multiple, and the optical module in an optical line termination OLT may be one.
[0106] If the detection ONU ID is used as a detection tool for detecting the APD performance of an optical module, there is no need to take the trouble of constructing a new detection device. The step of determining whether the APD performance has deteriorated can be completed at the OLT end with just a simple logical judgment, and the detection operation is simple.
[0107] For simplicity, the selection principle of selecting at least one from the ONUs as the detected ONU ID may be arbitrarily selected from used or unused ONUs registered in the PON port, and the flow of allowing new ONUs to access the optical network is exempted.
[0108] The allocation module 110 is used to allocate and enable bandwidth to the detected ONU ID.
[0109] For the detected ONU ID, a corresponding transmission container T-CONT is arranged.
[0110] The acquisition module 120 acquires the optical power received by the optical module for the detected ONU ID.
[0111] In the process of normal operation of an optical module in an optical network, a dark current exists, and the dark current can be used to detect the optical power received by the optical module for the detected ONU ID, thereby identifying whether the performance of the APD in the optical module has deteriorated. In particular, when the performance of the APD in the optical module has deteriorated, the resistance increases, the current decreases, and the optical power received by the optical module changes accordingly.
[0112] The received optical power may be obtained using another device, or after the optical module obtains the received optical power, it may be transmitted to the OLT, and the OLT may complete the subsequent step of determining whether the APD performance has deteriorated.
[0113] The determination module 130 is used to determine whether the performance of the APD in the optical module has deteriorated based on the received optical power.
[0114] Naturally, the step of determining whether or not the APD performance has deteriorated may be completed within the optical module, or a warning such as an alarm may be generated for an optical module in which the APD performance has deteriorated, and in order to avoid improvements to the optical module, the determination of whether or not the performance of the APD in the optical module has deteriorated based on the received light power may be completed in the OLT, and is not limited thereto.
[0115] The criteria can be based on standards for APD performance degradation in industry optical module specifications.
[0116] The APD performance detection method used in the optical module according to the embodiment of the present application is to manually start the APD performance detection operation of the optical module when an abnormality occurs in the optical network, which has the disadvantage of being late in finding the problem and the advantage of not occupying optical network resources.
[0117] As can be seen from the above analysis, the APD performance detection method used in the optical module according to the embodiment of the present application is applied to an optical network including an optical module, and the optical module refers to the optical module of an OLT, and at least one optical network unit identifier ONU ID may be an actually existing ONU ID, for example, an ONU ID registered in the same PON port as the optical module, or may be a virtual ONU that does not actually exist, for example, an ONU ID that is not registered in the PON port, and the OLT can assign an ONU ID without a real one.
[0118] In Example 4, a storage medium according to an embodiment of the present application is used for storing computer-readable data, and one or more programs may be stored in the storage medium, and the one or more programs may be executed by one or more processors, thereby realizing the steps of the APD performance detection method used in the optical module shown in any of Figures 1 to 7, and specifically, the following steps can be executed.
[0119] Step 10: Select at least one ONU ID as the detected ONU ID.
[0120] An ONU existing in an optical network can perform optical communication with an optical module of an OLT, for example, the number of ONUs in a PON may be multiple, and the optical module in an optical line termination OLT may be one.
[0121] If the detection ONU ID is used as a detection tool for detecting the APD performance of the optical module, the step of determining whether the APD performance has deteriorated can be completed with only a simple logical determination, and the detection operation is simple.
[0122] For simplicity, the selection principle for selecting at least one ONU ID as the detected ONU ID may be to arbitrarily select a used ONU registered in the PON port or an available ONU not registered in the PON port, and only the ONU ID may be given in a virtual unit that does not actually exist.
[0123] Step 20: Allocate bandwidth to the detected ONU ID and enable bandwidth.
[0124] For the detected ONU ID, a corresponding transmission container T-CONT is arranged.
[0125] Step 30: Obtain the optical power received by the optical module for the detected ONU ID.
[0126] In the process of normal operation of an optical module in an optical network, a dark current exists, and the dark current can be used to detect the optical power received by the optical module for the detected ONU ID, thereby identifying whether the performance of the APD in the optical module has deteriorated. In particular, when the performance of the APD in the optical module has deteriorated, the resistance increases, the current decreases, and the optical power received by the optical module changes accordingly.
[0127] The received optical power may be obtained using another device, or after the optical module obtains the received optical power, it may be transmitted to the OLT, and the OLT may complete the subsequent step of determining whether the APD performance has deteriorated.
[0128] Step 40: Determine whether the performance of the APD in the optical module has deteriorated based on the received optical power.
[0129] Naturally, the step of determining whether or not the APD performance has deteriorated may be completed within the optical module, or a warning such as an alarm may be generated for an optical module in which the APD performance has deteriorated, and in order to avoid improvements to the optical module, the determination of whether or not the performance of the APD in the optical module has deteriorated based on the received light power may be completed in the OLT, and is not limited thereto.
[0130] The criteria can be based on standards for APD performance degradation in industry optical module specifications.
[0131] The APD performance detection method used in the optical module according to the embodiment of the present application is to manually start the APD performance detection operation of the optical module when an abnormality occurs in the optical network, which has the disadvantage of being late in finding the problem and the advantage of not occupying optical network resources.
[0132] As can be seen from the above analysis, the APD performance detection method used in the optical module according to the embodiment of the present application is applied to an optical network including an optical module, and the optical module refers to the optical module of an OLT, and at least one optical network unit identifier ONU ID may be an actually existing ONU ID, for example, an ONU ID registered in the same PON port as the optical module, or may be a virtual ONU that does not actually exist, for example, an ONU ID that is not registered in the PON port, and the OLT can assign an ONU ID without a real one.
