Description

[Technical field]

[0001]

[0002] Technical Field FIELD OF THE DISCLOSURE Embodiments of the present disclosure relate generally to the field of communications technologies, and more specifically to a cell selection method, device, storage medium, and computer program product. [Background technology]

[0002]

[0003] background In a cellular mobile communication system, a base station (e.g., gNB) generally provides radio coverage and corresponding network services in a certain area, and such an area is also referred to as a "cell." After being powered on, a user device (U A terminal device such as E) can access a suitable cell by performing a cell selection process to obtain a network connection. The terminal device usually has mobility. When the terminal device moves out of the coverage of the serving cell and enters a new cell, in order to keep the network service uninterrupted, the terminal device needs to camp on the new cell by performing a cell reselection process. After selecting a public land mobile network (PLMN), the terminal device can perform an initial cell selection process, so that the terminal device determines as soon as possible in the PLMN a cell whose signal quality meets the requirements and camps on that cell. Similarly, after accessing the initial cell, the terminal device can measure the signal quality of the current cell and nearby cells and reselect a cell with a better signal quality / higher priority as the serving cell on which the terminal device will camp.

[0003]

[0004] However, both initial cell selection and cell reselection rely on the autonomous behavior of the terminal devices based on the measured signal level and / or the measured signal quality. For example, if a large number of terminal devices choose to camp on cell 1 and only a few terminal devices choose to camp on cell 2 due to the relatively good measured signal level and / or the measured signal quality of cell 1, a load imbalance is caused. Furthermore, a large number of random access requests from terminal devices in cell 1 causes conflicts. As a result, random access failures occur and delays increase. Even if some terminal devices can successfully access cell 1, the load of cell 1 is relatively high, so the terminal devices may be handed over to another cell. This is unfavorable for data transmission of the terminal devices from the perspective of delay. Summary of the Invention

[0045]

[0053] The term "cell selection" as used herein refers to a process in which a terminal device selects a cell having a suitable frequency to camp on and uses that cell as a serving cell. In the context of this disclosure, "cell selection" may be "initial cell selection", i.e., a process in which a terminal device selects an initial serving cell after completing PLMN selection, or "cell reselection", i.e., a process in which a terminal device is handed over from a current cell to a nearby cell. In some embodiments of the present disclosure, the term "cell selection" may also include both "initial cell selection" and "cell reselection".

[0046]

[0054] As used herein, the term "include" and its derivatives are intended to indicate an open inclusion, i.e., "including, but not limited to." Unless otherwise stated, the term "or" means "and / or." The term "based on" means "based at least in part on." The terms "exemplary embodiment" and "some embodiments" refer to "at least one exemplary embodiment." Other explicit and implicit definitions may be included below.

[0047]

[0055] The cell selection process includes a Radio Resource Management (RRM) mechanism, and the cellular mobile communication system can implement load balancing within the coverage by using the RRM mechanism. Depending on the Radio Resource Control (RRC) status of the terminal device, various RRM processes may be triggered. For example, for a terminal device in the RRC_IDLE (RRC idle) state, RRM is involved in the initial cell selection process and the cell reselection process. For a terminal device in the RRC_INACTIVE (RRC inactive) state, RRM mainly includes the cell reselection process. For a terminal device in the RRC_CONNECT (RRC connected) state, RRM is involved in the inter-cell mobility management and the intra-cell beam handover management.

[0048]

[0056] Initial cell selection in cell selection is classified into two types. In the first type, the terminal device does not have prior information of candidate cells for identifying the communication system frequency and needs to perform initial cell selection. The process may include scanning the system carrier frequency, receiving and measuring the Synchronization Signal Block (SSB) signal, evaluating the cell signal quality, decoding the Master Information Block (MIB) and the System Information Block (SIB), and determining whether the current cell is suitable for camping on based on the SSB measurement result and the information in the MIB and SIB. In the second type, the terminal device stores information about the system carrier frequency and cell parameters when the terminal device was last powered off. Therefore, when the terminal device is powered on again, the terminal device can preferentially measure the cells that store the relevant information of the terminal device. If there is a cell whose cell measurement result meets the requirements, the terminal device selects to camp on that cell. If the measurement results of the stored cells do not meet the requirements, the terminal device continues to select a cell for camping on based on an initial cell selection process of a first type.

[0049]

[0057] The terminal device can determine the Reference Signal Received Power (RSRP) and the Reference Signal Received Quality (RSRQ) based on the measurement results of reference signals such as SSB, Synchronization Signal, and Channel State Information-Reference signal (CSI-RS) to evaluate the cell signal quality. Then, the terminal device can determine whether the signal quality of the candidate cell meets the requirements and the candidate cell is suitable for camping on based on the cell selection related parameters and the cell selection criteria in the SIB message. As an example of the cell selection criteria, the terminal device can usually determine the signal measurement results of the candidate cell by using the S criteria. Table 1 shows the cell selection related parameters included in the S criteria.

[0050] Table 1 - Cell selection related parameters

[0051] [Table 1]

[0058] Referring to the parameters in Table 1, the cell selection reception level value Srxlev and the cell selection quality value Squal in the S criterion can be determined according to Equation (1) and Equation (2). If the measurement results Srxlev and Squal satisfy Srxlev > 0 and Squal > 0, the cell can be selected as the cell to be camped on:

[0052]

number

[0059] A terminal device in RRC idle or RRC inactive state can initiate RRM measurements on nearby cells by comparing the priorities of nearby cells and the serving cell, and the signal quality of the serving cell, so as to camp on a cell with a higher priority or better signal quality. Cell reselection can be classified into intra-frequency cell reselection and inter-frequency cell reselection. Intra-frequency cell reselection means that the cell reselection is performed on the same frequency. This process does not involve frequency priority. Intra-frequency cell reselection includes inter-frequency cell reselection and inter-system cell reselection. The cell to finally camp on is selected based on frequency priority. The cells involved in the reselection may be indicated by the neighbor cell list carried in the SIB message, or may be cells detected by the terminal device in the reselection process.

[0053]

[0060] The specific conditions for intra-frequency cell reselection are as follows: 1. The terminal device camps on the current serving cell for a period of time longer than, for example, 1 second.

[0054] 2. The current serving cell of the terminal device is Srxlev > S intraSearchP And Squal > S intraSearchQ does not satisfy the above. Here, S intraSearchP represents the intra-frequency reselection level threshold in cell reselection system message 2, and S intraSearchQ represents the intra-frequency reselection signal quality threshold in cell reselection system message 2. In this case, the intra-frequency cell reselection process is initiated.

[0055]

[0061] The specific conditions for inter-frequency cell reselection are as follows: The current serving cell of the terminal device is Srxlev > S nonIntraSearchP And Squal > S nonIntraSearchQ does not satisfy the above. Here, S nonIntraSearchP represents the inter-frequency reselection level threshold in cell reselection system message 2, and S nonIntraSearchQ represents the inter-frequency reselection signal quality threshold in cell reselection system message 2. In this case, the inter-frequency cell reselection process is initiated.

[0056]

[0062] During a cell reselection period, the terminal device measures SSB signal qualities of nearby cells, and then sorts the signal qualities of the serving cell and the nearby cells based on a cell reselection criterion; twist good stomach A cell having a signal quality is selected as the cell to camp on. As an example of a cell reselection criterion, a terminal device can usually determine the signal measurement results of the serving cell and nearby cells by using the R criterion. Table 2 shows cell reselection related parameters related to the R criterion.

[0057] Table 2 – Cell reselection related parameters

[0058] [Table 2]

[0063] Referring to the parameters in Table 2, the R value of the serving cell and the R values of the neighboring cells in the R criterion can be determined according to equations (3) and (4):

[0059]

number

[0064] Apparently, the terminal device must provide cell selection information in the system message (e.g., Q rxlevmin ,Q rxlevminoffset ,Q qualmin ,Q qualminoffset , and Qoffset ), and based on the S criterion or the R criterion, the aforementioned load imbalance may occur.

[0060]

[0065] In conventional networks, to alleviate load imbalance in a particular area, intra-frequency cells may report cell load information to an Operation, Administration and Maintenance (OAM) system. The OAM system rxlevmin ,Q rxlevminoffset ,Q qualmin , and Q qualminoffset Based on that information, the parameters such as load, coverage, and load balancing are adjusted to change the coverage of each base station, achieving load balancing. In this method, the base station needs to report the load information to the OAM system, and the speed at which load balancing is achieved is slow. Furthermore, to avoid the case where a coverage hole occurs only by reducing the coverage of a single cell, the OAM system needs to uniformly adjust the coverage of all base stations in the area. As a result, the adjustment method is not flexible enough.

[0061]

[0066] In the case of inter-frequency cells, in order to achieve load balancing within the area, cell load information needs to be exchanged between base stations, and the parameter Q offset must be set by using system messages. Furthermore, when a terminal device changes from an RRC connected state to an RRC idle state, the communication system can set different priorities for inter-frequency cells by controlling the number of terminal devices connected to each frequency using RRC signaling, thereby implementing load balancing. This scheme relies on signaling interactions between base stations or can be implemented only when the RRC state of the terminal device changes.

[0062]

[0067] Furthermore, in the conventional load balancing mechanism described above, the terminal device cannot autonomously select a suitable cell to camp on based on the cell load information, which results in increased access delay and subsequent data transmission being affected.

[0063]

[0068] To solve the aforementioned problems and other potential problems in current communication systems, the embodiments of the present disclosure provide a cell selection mechanism that takes into account the real-time load status of cells, the service types and service requirements of various terminal devices, so that the terminal devices can autonomously select a suitable cell to camp on based on coordination parameters related to cell selection. Also, the mechanism does not need to rely on unified coordination of the entire area by the OAM system. This helps to accelerate the load balancing speed so that the terminal devices can quickly access the cells, thereby reducing the delay of subsequent data transmission.

[0064]

[0069] An example cell selection process according to an embodiment of the present disclosure may be described below with reference to FIGS.

[0065]

[0070] FIG. 1 is a schematic diagram of an exemplary network environment 100 in which an exemplary embodiment of the present disclosure may be implemented. As shown in FIG. 1, the network environment 100 may provide network coverage to user equipment (e.g., terminal device 110) in a particular area. For example, the first network device 120 and the second network device 130 may monitor the load status of the first cell 102 and the second cell 104, respectively, and exchange cell load information via an interface (e.g., X2 or S1). In addition, the network devices may further transmit the load information to an OAM device (not shown), which reallocates loads between cells or co-coverage cells based on the load status, service type, cell configuration, etc. of each cell in the network environment 100.

[0067]

[0072] The network devices may further communicate with the terminal device 110. In one example, the first network device 120 and the second network device 130 may transmit various RRC protocol-based signaling messages to the terminal device 110 to control processes such as RRC connection establishment, configuration, and release of the terminal device 110. In another example, the first network device 120 and the second network device 130 may each transmit system messages to the terminal device 110, where the system messages include, but are not limited to, MIBs, SIB1, SIB2, SIB3, SIB4, and SIB5. The SIB messages may include cell selection information related to cell selection related parameters, such as S criteria and R criteria. In some embodiments of the present disclosure, the network devices may further transmit cell load information or inform the terminal device 110 of one or more adjustment parameters associated with cell selection, which will be described in more detail below.

[0068]

[0073] In some example embodiments of the present disclosure, the cell load information may include Physical Resource Block (PRB) utilization (e.g., uplink / downlink PRB utilization, uplink / downlink Guaranteed Bit Rate (GBR) PRB utilization, uplink / downlink non-GBR PRB utilization, or Physical Downlink Control Channel (PDCCH) control channel utilization) associated with the cell. ·The information may include, but is not limited to, the number of RRC connections (e.g., the number of users in the RRC connected state, the number of RRC connections, or the capacity of the RRC connections), random access delay information (e.g., the number of times a terminal device needs to send a random access preamble from an idle state to a connected state), cell capacity information (e.g., the capacity of each cell, or the available uplink / downlink capacity corresponding to each SSB), transport network layer capacity (e.g., the used or available capacity of the uplink / downlink transport network layer), etc.

[0069]

[0074] The terminal device 110 may move within the area and possibly initiate a cell selection process and camp on the cell 102 or 104 accordingly. In some exemplary embodiments, the terminal device 110 may perform the initial cell selection process shown in FIG. 2 or the cell reselection process shown in FIG. 3 in the first cell 102 and the second cell 104 based on at least one of cell selection related parameters, cell load information, and adjustment parameters associated with the cell selection obtained from the first network device 120 and the second network device 130, respectively. In some other exemplary embodiments, the terminal device 110 may further consider the service type or service requirements of the terminal device 110 when selecting a cell to camp on.

[0070]

[0075] In some exemplary embodiments of the present disclosure, the terminal device 110 , 1 Network Devices 120 , and a second network deviceOne or more of 130 may comprise a module configured to determine the tuning parameters, which may be implemented based on a machine learning algorithm, which can be classified into supervised learning, unsupervised learning, and reinforcement learning algorithms based on the training method.

[0071]

[0076] Supervised learning is a computational method in which a data set and a given correct answer (e.g., data labeling) are provided to an algorithm, and then the machine learns the correct answer through the data. In unsupervised learning, the provided data set does not have a "correct answer" and is designed to extract a latent structure from the given data set. Reinforcement learning focuses on how an agent takes a sequence of actions in an environment to maximize accumulating rewards. Reinforcement learning includes value-based and policy-based methods, and the two methods can be combined to obtain an actor-critic method. The embodiments of the present disclosure are not limited to the specific machine learning methods and architectures described above, but are applicable to any machine learning method now known or developed in the future.

[0072]

[0077] The network environment 100 according to this embodiment of the present disclosure may be a wireless network conforming to any protocol now known or developed in the future, including, but not limited to, Narrowband Internet of Things (NB-IoT), Global System for Mobile Communications (GSM), Enhanced Data rate for GSM Evolution (EDGE) systems, Wideband Code Division Multiple Access (WCDMA) systems, Code Division Multiple Access 2000 (CDMA) systems, and the like. 2000 The application scenarios include, but are not limited to, a Time Division-Synchronous Code Division Multiple Access (TD-SCDMA) system, a Long Term Evolution (LTE) system, and three application scenarios of 5G mobile communication systems: eMBB, URLLC, and eMTC.

[0073]

[0078] FIG. 2 is a diagram of signaling interrelationships for an initial cell selection process 200 in accordance with an exemplary embodiment of the present disclosure. Initial Cell Selection The process 200 may involve the terminal device 110 and the first network device 120 shown in Figure 1. For purposes of explanation, the process 200 is described below with reference to Figure 1, but it should be understood that the process is applicable to other communication scenarios and devices.

[0074]

[0079] The first network device 120 may use a system message to receive cell selection information, such as S, Q, and S+1, for the first cell 102 corresponding to the first network device 120.rxlevmin ,Q rxlevminoffset ,Q qualmin , and Q qualminoffset The first network device 120 may broadcast parameters such as the cell load information, so that the terminal device 110 attempting to access the first cell 102 will perform a cell selection process by using the cell selection information. The first network device 120 may also monitor the load status of the first cell 102 and determine the cell load information. Thus, in some exemplary embodiments, the first network device 120 It is possible to further add the determined cell load information to the system message.

[0075]

[0080] At 205, the first network device 120 generates a first message. The first message may be a system message including cell selection information or another system message. The first message may include a first adjustment parameter Q associated with cell selection that the terminal device 110 attempting to access the first cell 102 should select. UE In some exemplary embodiments, when performing signal measurements on the candidate cells based on the cell selection criteria, the terminal device 110 may determine the first adjustment parameter Q UE For example, when selecting an initial cell based on the S criterion, the terminal device 110 may add a first adjustment parameter Q UE It is possible to apply the following. This will be described in detail below.

[0076]

[0081] The first message can be used to adjust the first tuning parameter Q UE In some exemplary embodiments, the first message may include cell load information of the first cell 102. For example, the cell load information may indicate a PRB utilization rate associated with the first cell 102, a number of terminal devices in an activated state, a radio resource controlThe RRC connection capacity, the number of RRC connections, the RACH delay, the cell capacity, and the transport network layer capacity. In this embodiment, the terminal device 110 adjusts the first adjustment parameter Q based on the received cell load information. UE It is possible to determine

[0077]

[0082] In some example embodiments, the first network device 120 is capable of determining at least one corresponding adjustment parameter candidate for at least one terminal device service type based on the cell load information of the first cell 102. In one example, the first network device 120 determines a plurality of adjustment parameter candidates Q UE,1 ,Q UE,2 , and Q UE,3 In such an example, the first message includes a plurality of tuning parameter candidates Q UE,1 ,Q UE,2 , and Q UE,3 Alternatively, the first message may include a table of mappings between at least one terminal device service type and at least one candidate adjustment parameter. In this way, the terminal device 110 can select an appropriate adjustment parameter based on the service type or service requirements of the terminal device 110.

[0078]

[0083] The first network device 120 determines the tuning parameter candidate Q according to equation (5). UE,i It is possible to determine: Q UE,i = a*log(available PRBs / PRB threshold) + b*(RACH delay / RACH delay threshold) + c*(RRC connections / RRC connections threshold) (5)

[0084] Here, Q UE,irepresents the i-th terminal device service type, and a, b, and c represent coefficients related to load balancing information. For example, in formula (5), a represents a coefficient related to PRB usage rate, b represents a coefficient related to RACH delay, and c represents a coefficient related to the number of RRC connections.

[0079]

[0085] It should be understood that the cell load information and the calculation method shown in equation (5) are merely examples and are not limiting. In practice, the coefficients and information in equation (5) may be modified, added, or removed as necessary, or a different calculation method may be used. It should be further understood that the service type or service requirement of the terminal device is not limited to the above-mentioned types or requirements based on bandwidth, access delay, or number of RRC connections, but may further include other existing types or requirements, or future types or requirements, and combinations of multiple different types or requirements. Thus, the first network device 120 may determine more or fewer adjustment parameter candidates as necessary. The example embodiments of the present disclosure are not limited in this respect.

[0080]

[0086] Furthermore, more accurate tuning parameter candidates Q UE,i To obtain Q, we use an AI algorithm or a reinforcement learning model. UE,i It is possible to calculate the load balancing information in equation (5), and the coefficients a, b, c, associated thresholds, etc., are iteratively updated. When the network device operates for a period of time, if the current service load of the cell obtained through the calculation does not match the target load state of the cell, a reinforcement learning model may be used to adjust the coefficients a, b, and c, so that the service load of the cell progresses toward the target load state.

[0081]

[0087] In some example embodiments, the values of the coefficients a, b, and c associated with the load balancing information may depend on the terminal device service type. In one example, for a service type that requires a large bandwidth, the coefficient a associated with the PRB utilization may be relatively large, e.g., a=10, and the other coefficients may be relatively small, e.g., b=-0.01 and c=-0.01. This is reflected in the adjustment parameter Q corresponding to this terminal device service type. UE,i It is shown that, is determined primarily based on the PRB utilization rate. In particular, coefficients b and c may alternatively be 0. When an AI algorithm is used, if the number of available PRBs is greater than the PRB threshold hyper-parameter of the AI algorithm, the tuning parameter Q UE,i The obtained value of is positive; or, if the number of available PRBs is less than the PRB threshold hyper parameter of the AI algorithm, the tuning parameter Q UE,i The obtained value of is negative.

[0082]

[0088] In another example, for a service type that requires low access delay, the coefficient b related to the RACH access delay may be relatively large, e.g., b=-10, and the other coefficients may be relatively small, e.g., a=0.01 and c=-0.01. This corresponds to the adjustment parameter Q corresponding to the service type of this terminal device. UE,i is determined primarily based on the RACH delay. In particular, coefficients a and c may alternatively be zero. In embodiments in which an AI algorithm is used, if the RACH delay is greater than the RACH delay threshold hyper parameter of the AI algorithm, then the adjustment parameter Q UE,i The obtained value of is negative; or, if the RACH delay is less than the RACH delay threshold hyper parameter of the AI algorithm, the tuning parameter Q UE,i The obtained value of is positive.

[0083]

[0089] In yet another example, for a service type that requires a certain number of RRC connections, the coefficient c related to the number of RRC connections may be relatively large, e.g., c=-10, and the other coefficients may be relatively small, e.g., a=0.01 and b=0.01. This is the adjustment parameter Q corresponding to the service type of this terminal device. UE is determined primarily based on the number of RRC connections. In particular, coefficients a and b may alternatively be 0. In an embodiment in which an AI algorithm is used, if the number of RRC connections is greater than the RRC connection number threshold hyper parameter of the AI algorithm, the adjustment parameter Q UE,i If the obtained value of is negative; or if the number of RRC connections is less than the RRC connection number threshold hyper parameter of the AI algorithm, the adjustment parameter Q UE,i The obtained value of is positive.

[0084]

[0090] At 210, the first network device 120 transmits a first message to the terminal device 110. In some example embodiments, the first network device 120 may transmit the first message to the terminal device 110 based on the processing capabilities of the first network device 120 or the processing capabilities of the terminal device 110. UE The specific format for specifying

[0085]

[0091] At 215, the terminal device 110 determines a first adjustment parameter Q associated with cell selection based on the received first message. UE For example, in an embodiment in which the first message includes cell load information of the first cell 102, the terminal device 110 may determine the first adjustment parameter Q according to equation (5) or a different calculation scheme. UE It is possible to determine the first adjustment parameter Q UEWhen determining Q, the terminal device 110 may further consider the service type or service requirements of the terminal device 110. Similarly, the terminal device 110 may alternatively determine the first adjustment parameter Q by using an AI algorithm. UE The terminal device 110 may determine the first adjustment parameter Q based on the cell load information and iteratively update the coefficients a, b, and c related to the load balancing information in equation (5). UE The manner of determining the first adjustment parameter Q is similar to the manner implemented by the first network device 120 described above. Therefore, the details will not be described again here. In some exemplary embodiments, the terminal device 110 determines the first adjustment parameter Q UE For example, the terminal device 110 may not have an AI algorithm. In this case, the first adjustment parameter Q UE may be set to 0 by default.

[0086]

[0092] The first message contains at least one candidate tuning parameter Q UE,1 ,Q UE,2 , and Q UE,3 or in an embodiment in which the first message includes a table of mappings between at least one terminal device service type and at least one candidate adjustment parameter, the terminal device 110 may identify the candidate adjustment parameters Q corresponding to the service type or service requirement of the terminal device 110. UE,1 ,Q UE,2 , and Q UE,3 Among them, the first adjustment parameter Q UE It is possible to directly select

[0087]

[0093] At 220, the terminal device 110 determines the first adjustment parameter Q UE and perform signal measurement for the first cell 102 based on (6) and (7), and obtain a signal measurement result. For example, the terminal device 110 may obtain a measurement result based on the S criterion according to (6) and (7).

[0088]

number

[0094] The first adjustment parameter Q shown in Equation (6) and Equation (7) UE It should be understood that the manner in which the signal measurements are adjusted by using is merely an example and not a limitation. In practice, equations (6) and (7) may be modified or replaced as desired.

[0089]

[0095] In some exemplary embodiments, the terminal device 110 adjusts the first adjustment parameter Q UE may be applied to at least one of Equation (6) and Equation (7). Additionally or alternatively, the terminal device 110 may adjust the first adjustment parameter Q UE at least one monomial in formula (6) and formula (7), e.g., Q UE *Q rxlevmeas Or Q rxlevmeas ^ (QUE) can be applied. The specific adjustment form is not limited.

[0090]

[0096] At 225, the terminal device 110 determines whether the signal measurement result of the first cell 102 satisfies the cell selection criteria. For example, in an S-criterion based embodiment, the terminal device 110 determines whether the signal measurement result of the first cell 102 satisfies the cell selection criteria. Srxlev'>0 and Squal'>0 If the terminal device 110 determines, at 225, that the signal measurement results of the first cell 102 satisfy the cell selection criteria, then, at 230, the terminal device 110 determines the first cell 102 as a target cell to camp on.

[0091]

[0097] Conversely, if in 225 the terminal device 110 determines that the signal measurements of the first cell 102 do not satisfy the cell selection criterion, the terminal device 110 may continue to repeat steps 205 to 225 for another cell (e.g., the cell 104 corresponding to the second network device 130) until a target cell for camping on is determined. If, after scanning all frequencies supported by the terminal device 110, the terminal device 110 has not found a cell that satisfies the cell selection criterion, the terminal device 110 may adjust a module configured for determining adjustment parameters to determine the output Q UE It is possible for the UE to change the cell ID and enter some cell camping state, triggering a cell reselection process.

[0092]

[0098] Although the operations in process 200 are described in a particular order, it should be understood that this should not be construed as requiring the operations to be completed in the particular order or sequential order shown, or as performing all of the operations shown, in order to achieve desired results. Similarly, while the foregoing description includes some specific implementation details, this should not be construed as limiting the scope of any invention or claims, but rather as a description of specific exemplary embodiments that may be specific to particular inventions. Some features that are described in this specification in the context of separate exemplary embodiments may alternatively be combined in a single exemplary embodiment. Conversely, various features that are described in the context of a single exemplary embodiment may alternatively be implemented separately in multiple exemplary embodiments, or in any suitable subcombination.

[0093]

[0099] According to an exemplary embodiment of the present disclosure, a cell selection mechanism is provided, in which a terminal device can autonomously select a cell whose load condition meets the requirement for camping on based on the load information broadcast by the network side or the adjustment parameters associated with the cell selection and provided by the network side. Furthermore, in such a scheme, the personalized dynamic adjustment can be directly implemented at the base station side or the terminal device side, and OAM is not required to adjust the cell coverage uniformly in the whole area. This reduces the access delay of the terminal device and the delay of the subsequent data transmission.

[0094]

[0100] 3 is a diagram of signaling interrelationships for a cell reselection process 300 according to an exemplary embodiment of the present disclosure. The exemplary interrelationship process 300 may include the terminal device 110, the first network device 120, and the second network device 130 shown in FIG. 1. For purposes of explanation, the process 300 will be described below with reference to FIG. 1. The second cell 104 serves as a serving cell for the terminal device 110, and the first cell 102 serves as a neighboring cell. It should be understood that the process is applicable to other communication scenarios and devices.

[0095]

[0101] In some exemplary embodiments, the second cell 104 selects the adjustment parameter Q by performing the initial cell selection process 200 described above. UE In some other exemplary embodiments, the serving cell may be selected based on the adjustment parameter Q UE Alternatively, may not be used when the initial cell is selected.

[0096]

[0102] At 305, the second network device 130 corresponding to the current serving cell of the terminal device 110 generates a second message including cell reselection information, where the second message may be a system message. As just an example, the system message may include, but is not limited to, SIB1, SIB2, SIB3, SIB4, and SIB5. Specifically, SIB1 may include relevant information used to evaluate whether the terminal device is allowed to access the cell and to define scheduling for another system message. SIB1 may also include radio resource configuration information common to all terminal devices and regulatory information applicable to unified access control. SIB2 may include reselection information other than common cell reselection information for intra-frequency, inter-frequency, and / or inter-system (e.g., inter-access technology) cell reselection, and reselection information related to intra-frequency cells and nearby cells. In other words, SIB2 is applicable to more than one cell reselection process, but not to all cell reselection processes. SIB3 may contain only information related to intra-frequency cell reselection, such as specific reselection parameters (e.g., physical cell IDs of nearby cells or Q of nearby cells). offset ), and blacklisted cells. SIB4 may contain only information about inter-frequency cell reselection, i.e., information about other radio frequencies and inter-frequency neighboring cells related to cell reselection. For example, SIB4 may contain frequency-cross-cell reselection parameters and cell-specific reselection parameters (e.g., carrier frequency to be measured, subcarrier spacing, or cell reselection priority). SIB5 may contain only information related to inter-system cell reselection, i.e., information about frequencies and neighboring cells related to cell reselection. For example, SIB5 contains frequency-cross-cell reselection parameters.

[0097]

[0103] At 310, the first network device 120 generates a first message. The first message may be a system message including cell selection information or another system message. The first message may be used by the terminal device 110 attempting to perform cell reselection.

[0098]

[0104] At 315 and 320, the second network device 130 and the first network device 120 broadcast a system message in the second cell 104 and the first cell 102, respectively. The first network device 120 and the second network device 130 may monitor the load status of the first cell 102 and the second cell 104, respectively, and determine cell load information of the cells 102 and 104. Thus, in some example embodiments, the first network device 120 and the second network device 130 may add corresponding cell load information to the system message.

[0099]

[0105] As described above, if the result of the signal measurement performed by the terminal device 110 in the serving cell satisfies the cell reselection condition, the terminal device 110 can initiate a cell reselection process. In 325, the terminal device 110 adjusts a first adjustment parameter Q associated with cell selection based on the first message. UE,n Similar to process 200, the first message may determine the first tuning parameter Q in various ways. UE,n It can be shown that

[0100]

[0106] In some exemplary embodiments, the first message may include cell load information of the first cell 102. For example, the cell load information may include a PRB utilization rate associated with the first cell 102, a number of terminal devices in an activated state, a radio resource controlThe RRC connection capacity, the number of RRC connections, the RACH delay, the cell capacity, and the transport network layer capacity may be included. In this embodiment, the terminal device 110 adjusts the first adjustment parameter Q based on the received cell load information. UE,n It is possible to determine

[0101]

[0107] In some example embodiments, the first network device 120 is capable of determining multiple corresponding adjustment parameter candidates for multiple terminal device service types based on the cell load information of the first cell 102. In this embodiment, the first message may include multiple adjustment parameter candidates, or the first message may include a table of mappings between multiple terminal device service types and multiple adjustment parameter candidates. In this manner, the terminal device 110 may determine an appropriate adjustment parameter, such as the first adjustment parameter Q, based on the service type or service requirements of the terminal device 110. UE,n It is possible to select as:

[0102]

[0108] The first network device 120 can determine the adjustment parameter candidates according to equation (5). The terminal device 110 can determine the first adjustment parameter Q in a manner similar to that described in the process 200. UE,n Therefore, the details will not be described again here.

[0103]

[0109] In some exemplary embodiments, the terminal device 110 may, at 330, adjust the second adjustment parameter Q based on the second message received from the second network device 130. UE,s Further, the terminal device 110 determines a second adjustment parameter Q based on the service type or service requirements of the terminal device 110. UE,s It is possible to determine

[0104]

[0110] In some other exemplary embodiments, as the second network device 130 interacts with the first network device 120, the second network device 130 may also receive cell load information of the first cell 102 or the second adjustment parameter Q UE,s For example, the cell reselection system message of the second cell may include the cell load information of the first cell 102 or the second adjustment parameter Q UE,s In this embodiment, the terminal device 110 derives a first adjustment parameter Q by using the first message from the first network device 120. UE,n It may not be necessary to determine

[0105]

[0111] At 335, the terminal device 110 performs signal measurements on the first cell 102 and determines a first adjustment parameter Q UE,n Similarly, at 340, the terminal device 110 performs signal measurements for the second cell 104 and obtains a signal measurement result based on the determined second adjustment parameter Q UE,s The terminal device 110 may obtain a signal measurement result based on the signal measurement result of the first cell 102 and Second The terminal device 110 may compare the signal measurements of the cells 104. For example, the terminal device 110 may compare the signal measurements based on the R criteria.

[0106]

[0112] In some exemplary embodiments, terminal device 110 may obtain R-criterion-based measurements according to equations (8) and (9):

[0107]

number

[0113] where Rs represents the R value of the second cell 104, Rn represents the R value of the first cell 102, and Q meas,s represents the RSRP value measured in the second cell 104, and Q meas, nrepresents the RSRP value measured in the first cell 102, and Q hyst represents the hysteresis threshold of the ranking standard, and Q offset represents the offset corresponding to the first cell 102, and Q offsettemp represents a time offset.

[0108]

[0114] The first adjustment parameter Q shown in Equation (8) and Equation (9) UE,n and the second adjustment parameter Q UE,s It should be understood that the manner in which the signal measurements are adjusted by using is merely an example and not a limitation. In practice, equations (8) and (9) may be modified or replaced as desired.

[0109]

[0115] In one example, the first tuning parameter Q UE,n and the second adjustment parameter Q UE,s At least one of the first adjustment parameters Q may be 0. In other words, the terminal device 110 may adjust the signal measurements of the serving cell and one or more of the neighboring cells as needed. In another example, the first adjustment parameter Q UE,n and the second adjustment parameter Q UE,s may be used as an adjustment coefficient for any one or more parameters in Equation (8) and Equation (9), and any calculation method may be used. For example, the first adjustment parameter Q UE,n and the second adjustment parameter Q UE,s may be applied to at least one monomial in Equation (8) and Equation (9), respectively. In another example, the first tuning parameter Q UE,n and the second adjustment parameter Q UE,s may be used as one or more monomial exponents in equations (8) and (9), respectively. At 345, the terminal device 110 determines whether the signal measurements of the first cell 102 satisfy a cell selection criterion. For example, in an R-criterion based embodiment, the terminal device 110 may rank Rs and Rn and select the cell with the highest R value to camp on.

[0110]

[0116] If the terminal device 110 determines at 345 that the signal measurement result of the first cell 102 meets the cell selection criteria, then the terminal device 110 determines at 350 the first cell 102 as a target cell to camp on. In one example, if the signal measurement result of the first cell 102 is better than the signal measurement result of the second cell 104, e.g., if the R value (i.e., Rn) of the first cell 102 is the highest, the terminal device 110 may reselect the first cell 102 as the target cell.

[0111]

[0117] Although the operations in process 300 are described in a particular order, it should be understood that this should not be construed as requiring the operations to be completed in the particular order or sequential order illustrated, or as performing all of the illustrated operations, in order to achieve desired results. For example, step 305 may be performed before or after step 310, and step 315 may be performed before or after step 320. At times, multitasking or parallel processing may be beneficial. Similarly, while the foregoing description includes some specific implementation details, this should not be construed as limiting the scope of any invention or the claims, but rather as a description of specific exemplary embodiments that may be specific to particular inventions. Some features described herein in the context of separate exemplary embodiments may alternatively be combined in a single exemplary embodiment. Conversely, various features described in the context of a single exemplary embodiment may alternatively be implemented separately in multiple exemplary embodiments, or in any suitable subcombination.

[0112]

[0118] According to an exemplary embodiment of the present disclosure, a cell selection mechanism is provided, in which a terminal device can autonomously select a cell whose load condition meets the requirement for camping on based on load information broadcast by the network side or adjustment parameters associated with cell selection and provided by the network side. Furthermore, in such a scheme, individualized dynamic adjustment can be directly implemented at the base station side or the terminal device side. This reduces the signaling interaction between base stations, and reduces the access delay of the terminal device and the delay of subsequent data transmission.

[0119] 4 is a flowchart of a cell selection method 400 according to an exemplary embodiment of the present disclosure. The method 400 may be implemented in the terminal device 110 shown in FIG 1. For ease of explanation, the method 400 will be described below with reference to FIG 1. It should be understood that the method 400 is applicable to other communication scenarios and devices.

[0114]

[0120] At 401, the terminal device 110 receives a first message from the first network device 120. The first message indicates that the terminal device 110 attempting to access the first cell 102 is to receive a first adjustment parameter Q related to cell selection. UE The first message may be a system message broadcast by the first network device 120 in the first cell 102. In some example embodiments, when performing signal measurements on the candidate cells based on the cell selection criteria, the terminal device 110 may determine a first adjustment parameter Q UE It is possible to process the measurement results by using:

[0115]

[0121] In some exemplary embodiments, the first message may include a table of mappings between a plurality of service types and a plurality of adjustment parameter candidates. In some other exemplary embodiments, the first message may include a plurality of adjustment parameter candidates corresponding to a plurality of service types, the plurality of adjustment parameter candidates being determined by the first network device 120 for the plurality of service types based on cell load information of the first cell 102. In yet some other exemplary embodiments, the first message may include a table of mappings between a plurality of service types and a plurality of adjustment parameter candidates. UE The cell load information for the first cell 102 may be used to determine

[0116]

[0122] In some exemplary embodiments, the first network device 120 and the second network device 130 may transmit corresponding cell load information via a system message Transport by In some other exemplary embodiments, since the second network device 130 is capable of interacting with the first network device 120, the second network device 130 may also add the cell load information of the first cell 102 to the system message. For example, the cell reselection system message of the second cell includes the cell load information of the first cell 102. In this embodiment, the terminal device 110 may derive the first adjustment parameter Q by using the first message from the first network device 120. UE,n It may not be necessary to determine

[0117]

[0123] At 402, the terminal device 110 determines a first adjustment parameter associated with cell selection based on the first message. In some example embodiments, the terminal device 110 may select an adjustment parameter candidate corresponding to a service type of the terminal device 110 from a plurality of adjustment parameter candidates as the first adjustment parameter.

[0118]

[0124] In an embodiment in which the first message includes a mapping table or multiple adjustment parameter candidates, the terminal device 110 may select an appropriate adjustment parameter based on a service type or service requirements of the terminal device 110. In an embodiment in which the first message includes cell load information of the first cell 102, the cell load information may include a physical resource block utilization rate associated with the first cell 102, a number of terminal devices in an activated state, a radio resource utilization rate, and the like. control The RRC connection capacity, the number of RRC connections, the random access channel delay, the cell capacity, and the transport network layer capacity may include, but are not limited to, the RRC connection capacity, the number of RRC connections, the random access channel delay, the cell capacity, and the transport network layer capacity. In this embodiment, the terminal device 110 calculates the first adjustment parameter Q according to the formula (5) or a different calculation manner. UE Similarly, the first tuning parameter Q UE When determining, the terminal device 110 may further take into account the service type or service requirements of the terminal device 110.

[0119]

[0125] In some exemplary embodiments, the terminal device 110 may alternatively use an AI algorithm to adjust the first adjustment parameter Q UE and iteratively update the coefficients a, b, and c associated with the load balancing information in equation (5). For example, the values of the coefficients a, b, and c associated with the load balancing information may depend on the service type of the terminal device.

[0120]

[0126] In one example, if the terminal device 110 requires a large bandwidth, the coefficient a related to the PRB utilization rate may be relatively large, for example, a=10, and the other coefficients may be relatively small, for example, b=-0.01 and c=-0.01. This is the first adjustment parameter Q corresponding to the service type of the terminal device 110. UEis determined primarily based on the PRB utilization rate. In particular, coefficients b and c may alternatively be zero. In embodiments in which an AI algorithm is used, if the number of available PRBs is greater than the PRB threshold hyper parameter of the AI algorithm, then the first tuning parameter Q UE is positive; or, if the number of available PRBs is less than the PRB threshold hyper parameter of the AI algorithm, the first tuning parameter Q UE The obtained value of is negative.

[0121]

[0127] In another example, if the terminal device 110 requires a low access delay, the coefficient b related to the RACH access delay may be relatively large, e.g., b=-10, and the other coefficients may be relatively small, e.g., a=0.01 and c=-0.01. This corresponds to the first adjustment parameter Q UE is determined primarily based on the RACH delay. In particular, coefficients a and c may alternatively be zero. In an embodiment in which an AI algorithm is used, the first adjustment parameter Q is adjusted if the RACH delay is greater than the RACH delay threshold hyper parameter of the AI algorithm. UE is negative; or, if the RACH delay is less than the RACH delay threshold hyper parameter of the AI algorithm, the first tuning parameter Q UE The obtained value of is positive.

[0122]

[0128] In yet another example, if the terminal device 110 requires a certain number of RRC connections, the coefficient c related to the number of RRC connections may be relatively large, e.g., c=-10, and the other coefficients may be relatively small, e.g., a=0.01 and b=0.01. This is the first adjustment parameter Q corresponding to the service type of this terminal device 110. UEis determined primarily based on the number of RRC connections. In particular, the coefficients a and b may alternatively be 0. In an embodiment in which an AI algorithm is used, if the number of RRC connections is greater than the RRC connection number threshold hyper parameter of the AI algorithm, the first adjustment parameter Q UE is negative; or if the number of RRC connections is less than the RRC connection number threshold hyper parameter of the AI algorithm, the first adjustment parameter Q UE The obtained value of is positive.

[0123]

[0129] It should be understood that the service type or service requirement of the terminal device is not limited to the aforementioned types or requirements based on bandwidth, access delay, or number of RRC connections, but may further include other existing or future types or requirements, and combinations of multiple different types or requirements. Furthermore, in practice, the terminal device 110 can adjust the coefficients a, b, c, associated thresholds, etc. related to the load balancing information according to the requirements of the terminal device 110 to suit the requirements of the terminal device 110. In this way, the diversified requirements of the terminal device can be better satisfied than direct calculation by the network side, and the diversity is better and more personalized.

[0124]

[0130] In some exemplary embodiments, the terminal device 110 adjusts the first adjustment parameter Q UE For example, the terminal device 110 may not have an AI algorithm or a reinforcement learning model. In this case, the first adjustment parameter Q UE may be set to 0 by default.

[0125]

[0131] At 403, the terminal device 110 determines a first adjustment parameter Q UEFor example, the terminal device 110 may measure the RSRP and RSRQ values of the signal received from the first cell 102 and adjust the first adjustment parameter Q UE may be used to adjust the signal measurements.

[0126]

[0132] In a cell reselection embodiment, the terminal device 110 may further perform signal measurements on a serving cell of the terminal device 110, i.e., the second cell 104. For example, the terminal device 110 may perform signal measurements on the second cell 104 based on a second adjustment parameter. The second adjustment parameter may be determined by the terminal device 110 from a second message received by the terminal device 110 from the second network device 130 corresponding to the second cell 104 and an optional service type of the terminal device 110.

[0127]

[0133] At 404, the terminal device 110 determines whether the signal measurements satisfy a cell selection criterion. The cell selection criterion may include an S criterion, an R criterion, or any other suitable criterion. For example, in an initial cell selection embodiment, the terminal device 110 determines whether the signal measurements of the first cell 102 satisfy a S criterion, an R criterion, or any other suitable criterion. Srxlev'>0 and Squal'>0 In a cell reselection embodiment, the terminal device 110 may compare the signal measurement result Rn of the first cell 102 with the signal measurement result Rs of the second cell 104.

[0128]

[0134] If the terminal device 110 determines at 404 that the signal measurements satisfy the cell selection criteria, then at 405 the terminal device 110 determines the first cell 102 as a target cell to camp on. In an initial cell selection embodiment, the signal measurements of the first cell 102 Srxlev'>0 and Squal'>0 If Rn>Rs, the terminal device 110 may determine the first cell 102 as a target cell to camp on. In a cell reselection embodiment, if the signal measurement result of the first cell 102 is better than the signal measurement result of the second cell 104, e.g., Rn>Rs, the terminal device 110 may determine the first cell 102 as a target cell to camp on.

[0129]

[0135] According to the method provided in the embodiment of the present disclosure, flexible and dynamic cell selection can be implemented on the terminal device side. In the method, the cell selection criteria and the result of the comparison of the signal measurement are adjusted based on the real-time load conditions of the serving cell and the neighboring cells. Furthermore, the terminal device can select an appropriate adjustment parameter from multiple adjustment parameters based on the service type and the requirements of the terminal device. In this way, personalized load balancing can be quickly implemented in the network.

[0130]

[0136] 5 is a flowchart of a cell selection method 500 according to an exemplary embodiment of the present disclosure. The method 500 may be implemented in the first network device 120 shown in FIG. 1. For ease of explanation, the method 500 will be described below with reference to FIG. 1. It should be understood that the method 500 is applicable to other communication scenarios and devices.

[0131]

[0137] In 501, the first network device 120 generates a first message. The first message indicates that the terminal device 110 attempting to access the first cell 102 will receive a first tuning parameter Q related to cell selection. UE The first message can cause the first tuning parameter Q to be determined in various ways. UE It is possible to show that

[0132]

[0138] In some example embodiments, the first message may include cell load information of the first cell 102. The cell load information may include a physical resource block utilization rate associated with the first cell 102, a number of terminal devices in an activated state, a radio resource utilization rate, and the like. control These may include, but are not limited to, a capacity of an RRC connection, a number of RRC connections, a random access channel delay, a cell capacity, and a transport network layer capacity. In this embodiment, the terminal device 110 adjusts the first adjustment parameter Q based on the received cell load information. UE It is possible to determine

[0133]

[0139] In some exemplary embodiments, the first message may include a table of mappings between a plurality of service types and a plurality of adjustment parameter candidates. In some other exemplary embodiments, the first message may include a plurality of adjustment parameter candidates corresponding to a plurality of service types, the plurality of adjustment parameter candidates being determined by the first network device 120 for the plurality of service types based on the cell load information of the first cell 102. In this embodiment, the terminal device 110 may select an appropriate first adjustment parameter from the plurality of adjustment parameters based on the service type and the requirements of the terminal device.

[0134]

[0140] In an embodiment in which the first message includes a mapping table or multiple adjustment parameter candidates, the first network device 120 may determine multiple corresponding adjustment parameter candidates for multiple terminal device service types based on the cell load information of the first cell 102, for example, may determine the adjustment parameter candidates according to equation (5). In order to obtain more accurate adjustment parameter candidates, the first network device 120 may calculate the adjustment parameter candidates by using an AI algorithm or a reinforcement learning model, and iteratively update the coefficients a, b, and c associated with the load balancing information in equation (5). When the network device operates for a certain period of time, if the current service load of the cell obtained through the calculation does not match the target load state of the cell, the reinforcement learning model may be used to adjust the coefficients a, b, and c, so that the service load of the cell progresses toward the target load state.

[0135]

[0141] In some example embodiments, the values of the coefficients a, b, and c associated with the load balancing information may depend on the terminal device service type. When an AI algorithm is used, if the number of available PRBs is greater than the PRB threshold hyper-parameter of the AI algorithm, the tuning parameter Q UE The obtained value of is positive; or, if the number of available PRBs is less than the PRB threshold hyper parameter of the AI algorithm, the tuning parameter Q UE The obtained value of is negative.

[0136]

[0142] In another example, for a service type that requires low access delay, the coefficient b related to the RACH access delay may be relatively large, e.g., b=-10, and the other coefficients may be relatively small, e.g., a=0.01 and c=-0.01.

[0137]

[0143] In yet another example, for a service type that requires a certain number of RRC connections, the coefficient c related to the number of RRC connections may be relatively large, e.g., c=-10, and the other coefficients may be relatively small, e.g., a=0.01 and b=0.01.

[0138]

[0144] In some example embodiments, the first network device 120 may determine whether the first message is to be transmitted based on the processing capabilities of the first network device 120 or the processing capabilities of the terminal device 110, based on the first network device 120 processing capabilities or the processing capabilities of the terminal device 110. UE The specific format for specifying

[0139]

[0145] At 502, the first network device 120 transmits a first message to the terminal device 110, such that the terminal device 110 determines a first adjustment parameter associated with cell selection based on the first message. For example, the first message may be a system message broadcast in the first cell 102.

[0140]

[0146] According to the method provided in the embodiment of the present disclosure, flexible dynamic load balancing within or between cells is possible. In the method, adjustment parameters associated with the real-time load status of the base station are used to affect the cell selection process at the terminal device side, so that each base station can dynamically adjust the cell load, and the cell selection information of all base stations in the whole area does not need to be uniformly adjusted by using the OAM system. Furthermore, when determining the adjustment parameters, the base station can further consider the service types and service requirements of different terminal devices to achieve personalized load balancing.
