[Figure 9] FIG. 9 is a cross-sectional view taken along line IX-IX in FIG. DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION
[0010] [Outline of the embodiment] A linear motion unit according to the present disclosure includes a linear motion mechanism including a track member and a moving member linearly movable along the longitudinal direction of the track member, and a housing that houses the linear motion mechanism and includes a fastener extending in the longitudinal direction. The track member is formed with a first rolling surface extending in the longitudinal direction. The moving member is formed with a second rolling surface that faces the first rolling surface and forms a rolling element rolling path between the first rolling surface and the second rolling surface. The linear motion mechanism further includes a plurality of rolling elements that circulate in a rolling element circulating path including the rolling element rolling path as the moving member moves linearly along the longitudinal direction of the track member. The fastener includes a first element extending in the longitudinal direction, a second element that extends longitudinally along the first element and is engageable with the first element, a first slider attached to the first element and the second element, and a second slider attached to the first element and the second element and positioned spaced apart in the longitudinal direction from the first slider. The first slider and the second slider move the first element and the second element apart as they move in a direction opposite to the side where the other slider is located, and the first element and the second element mesh with each other as they move toward the side where the other slider is located. The first slider and the second slider can be fixed to the moving member.
[0011] In the linear motion unit, when the moving member moves linearly along the longitudinal direction of the track member, the front of the first and second sliders separates the first and second elements, and then the rear of the first and second sliders engages the first and second elements. Therefore, when the moving member moves linearly along the longitudinal direction of the track member, the fastener remains closed except for the portion between the first and second sliders, ensuring dustproofness of the linear motion mechanism. Furthermore, the fastener can be opened by moving the first slider toward one end of the fastener and the second slider toward the other end of the fastener, facilitating maintenance of the linear motion mechanism.
[0012] The term "fastener" as used herein means a fastener having multiple teeth (engaging teeth) attached along the longitudinal direction on both sides of the width direction (direction perpendicular to the longitudinal direction) of a cutting portion (opening) extending in the longitudinal direction.
[0013] The linear motion unit may further include a third slider attached to the opposite side of the first slider from the second slider, and moving the first element and the second element away from each other as the third slider moves toward the first slider. With this configuration, the fastener can be opened by the third slider without using the first and second sliders, for example, during maintenance of the linear motion mechanism or when attaching the linear motion mechanism to a mating member.
[0014] The linear motion unit may further include a fourth slider attached to the opposite side of the second slider from the first slider and moving the first element and the second element away from each other as the fourth slider moves toward the second slider. With this configuration, the fastener can be opened by the fourth slider without using the first slider and the second slider when performing maintenance on the linear motion mechanism or when attaching the linear motion mechanism to a mating member.
[0015] [Specific example of embodiment] Next, specific embodiments of the linear motion unit of the present disclosure will be described with reference to the drawings. In the following drawings, the same or corresponding parts are designated by the same reference numerals, and the description thereof will not be repeated.
[0016] (Embodiment 1) First, the configuration of the linear motion unit 1 according to the first embodiment will be described with reference to Figs. 1 to 5. Fig. 1 is a perspective view showing the overall configuration of the linear motion unit 1. Fig. 2 is a perspective view showing the linear motion unit 1 with the cover 22 omitted. Fig. 3 is an enlarged view of region III in Fig. 2. Fig. 4 is an enlarged view of region IV in Fig. 2. Fig. 5 is a cross-sectional view taken along line VV in Fig. 3. The linear motion unit 1 mainly includes a linear motion mechanism 10 (Fig. 2) and a housing 20 (Fig. 1) that houses the linear motion mechanism 10.
[0017] As shown in Fig. 2, the linear motion mechanism 10 includes a rail 11 (a track member) and a slide block 12 (a moving member) attached to the rail 11. The rail 11 extends linearly in a longitudinal direction D1. The rail 11 has a through-hole 11B formed therein, which has a circular shape when viewed in a vertical direction D3 (a direction perpendicular to both the longitudinal direction D1 and the width direction D2) and penetrates the rail 11 in the vertical direction D3. A plurality of through-holes 11B are formed at equal intervals in the longitudinal direction D1.
[0018] The slide block 12 is capable of moving linearly along the longitudinal direction D1 of the rail 11. As shown in Fig. 2, the slide block 12 includes a casing 13 and a pair of end caps (a first end cap 14 and a second end cap 15) disposed on both sides of the casing 13 in the longitudinal direction D1.
[0019] As shown in Fig. 5, a pair of first raceway surfaces 11A are formed on both sides in the width direction D2 of the rail 11. The first raceway surfaces 11A extend in the longitudinal direction D1 over the entire rail 11. The casing 13 includes a casing main body 16 extending in the width direction D2, and a pair of sleeve portions (a first sleeve portion 17 and a second sleeve portion 18) extending in the up-down direction D3 from both sides of the casing main body 16.
[0020] The first sleeve portion 17 extends in the vertical direction D3 from the first end portion 16A of the casing body 16 toward the rail 11. As shown in FIG. 5, the first sleeve portion 17 is formed with a second raceway surface 17A that faces the first raceway surface 11A and forms a first rolling element rolling path between the first raceway surface 11A and the second raceway surface 17A. The second raceway surface 17A is formed on a portion of the first sleeve portion 17 that faces the rail 11. A plurality of rolling elements 60 (balls in this embodiment) are arranged in the longitudinal direction D1 in the first rolling element rolling path. The type of rolling elements is not limited to balls and may be, for example, cylindrical rollers.
[0021] The second sleeve portion 18 extends in the vertical direction D3 from the second end portion 16B of the casing body 16 toward the rail 11. The second sleeve portion 18 is formed with a second raceway surface 18A that faces the first raceway surface 11A and forms a second rolling element rolling path between itself and the first raceway surface 11A. The second raceway surface 18A is formed on a portion of the second sleeve portion 18 that faces the rail 11. A plurality of rolling elements 60 (balls in this embodiment) are arranged in the longitudinal direction D1 in the second rolling element rolling path.
[0022] As shown in Fig. 5, a first return path 17B is formed in the first sleeve portion 17. The first return path 17B extends along the first raceway surface 11A and is a through-hole that passes through the first sleeve portion 17 in the longitudinal direction D1. More specifically, the first return path 17B is a circular through-hole when viewed in the longitudinal direction D1. In this embodiment, the first return path 17B is formed at a position that is farther away from the first end 16A than the second raceway surface 17A.
[0023] As shown in Fig. 5, second sleeve portion 18 is formed with second return path 18B. Second return path 18B extends along first raceway surface 11A and is a through hole that penetrates second sleeve portion 18 in longitudinal direction D1. In the present embodiment, second return path 18B is a circular through hole when viewed in longitudinal direction D1. As shown in Fig. 5, second return path 18B is formed at a position that is farther away from second end 16B than second raceway surface 18A.
[0024] A first direction change path (not shown) connecting the first rolling element rolling path and the first return path 17B (FIG. 5) is formed inside the first end cap 14 (FIG. 2). Also, a second direction change path (not shown) connecting the second rolling element rolling path and the second return path 18B (FIG. 5) is formed inside the first end cap 14. Similarly, a first direction change path connecting the first rolling element rolling path and the first return path 17B and a second direction change path connecting the second rolling element rolling path and the second return path 18B are formed inside the second end cap 15 (FIG. 2).
[0025] Therefore, a first annular rolling element circulating path is formed inside the slide block 12 by the first rolling element rolling path, the first return path 17B (FIG. 5), and the first direction change path. A second annular rolling element circulating path is also formed inside the slide block 12 by the second rolling element rolling path, the second return path 18B (FIG. 5), and the second direction change path. The slide block 12 includes a plurality of rolling elements 60 arranged in the first rolling element circulating path and the second rolling element circulating path. The plurality of rolling elements 60 circulate through the first rolling element circulating path and the second rolling element circulating path as the slide block 12 moves linearly along the longitudinal direction D1 of the rail 11.
[0026] 1, the housing 20 in this embodiment is a rectangular parallelepiped box extending in the longitudinal direction D1. The housing 20 includes a base plate 21, a cover 22, and a fastener .
[0027] As shown in FIG. 2, the base plate 21 is a rectangular plate extending in the longitudinal direction D1. The linear motion mechanism 10 is disposed on the upper surface of the base plate 21. The housing 20 further includes a first stay 51, a second stay 52, and a plurality of third stays 53. The first stay 51 and the second stay 52 are disposed on both ends of the upper surface of the base plate 21 in the longitudinal direction D1. The third stays 53 are disposed side by side in the longitudinal direction D1 at both ends of the upper surface of the base plate 21 in the width direction D2. That is, the first stay 51, the second stay 52, and the plurality of third stays 53 are disposed on the outer periphery of the upper surface of the base plate 21.
[0028] 3, the third stay 53 includes a rectangular third base portion 53A that is placed on the upper surface of the base plate 21, and a rectangular third wall portion 53B that stands perpendicular to the third base portion 53A. A through-hole is formed in the third base portion 53A to fix the third base portion 53A to the base plate 21. The third wall portion 53B is a portion that supports the cover 22 (FIG. 1) from the inside.
[0029] As shown in FIG. 4, the first stay 51 includes a first base portion 51A placed on the upper surface of the base plate 21 and a rectangular first wall portion 51B standing perpendicular to the first base portion 51A. A plurality of through holes 51C are formed in the first base portion 51A. As shown in FIG. 4, the through holes 51C are elongated holes extending in the longitudinal direction D1. By forming the mounting portion of the first stay 51 as elongated holes, the length of the cover 22 (FIG. 1) in the longitudinal direction D1 can be adjusted and tension can be applied to the cover 22. Similar to the third wall portion 53B (FIG. 3), the first wall portion 51B is a portion for supporting the cover 22 (FIG. 1) from the inside. The second stay 52 (FIG. 2) has a configuration basically similar to that of the first stay 51, and therefore a detailed description thereof will be omitted.
[0030] As shown in Fig. 1, the cover 22 has a rectangular parallelepiped outer shape extending in the longitudinal direction D1 and is disposed on the base plate 21. The cover 22 includes a pair of first side surfaces 26 extending in the longitudinal direction D1 and a pair of second side surfaces 27 connecting the ends of the pair of first side surfaces 26 in the longitudinal direction D1. Note that Fig. 1 shows only one of the first side surfaces 26 and the second side surfaces 27. The second side surfaces 27 have a smaller area than the first side surfaces 26.
[0031] The cover 22 has an entirely open bottom side (the side facing the base plate 21) and an opening 22A for the fastener 23 formed on the top surface. As shown in Fig. 1, the opening 22A has a rectangular shape that is smaller than the top surface of the cover 22 and extends in the longitudinal direction D1. The fastener 23 extends in the longitudinal direction D1 and is disposed so as to block (cover) the entire opening 22A.
[0032] As shown in FIG. 1 , the fastener 23 includes a first element 24 and a second element 25 that can mesh with the first element 24. The first element 24 extends in the longitudinal direction D1 across the entire opening 22A. The second element 25 extends in the longitudinal direction D1 along the first element 24 and has approximately the same length as the first element 24. The first element 24 includes a first tape portion attached along one edge of the opening 22A in the width direction D2 and a plurality of first teeth attached to the first tape portion in a line along the longitudinal direction. Similarly, the second element 25 includes a second tape portion attached along the other edge of the opening 22A in the width direction D2 and a plurality of second teeth attached to the second tape portion in a line along the longitudinal direction. Note that the first tape portion and the second tape portion may be omitted, and the first teeth and the second teeth may be attached directly to the edge of the opening 22A.
[0033] As shown in Fig. 3, the fastener 23 includes a first slider 28 and a second slider 29 positioned apart from the first slider 28 in the longitudinal direction D1. In this embodiment, the first slider 28 and the second slider 29 are adjacent to each other in the longitudinal direction D1. The first slider 28 is attached to the first element 24 and the second element 25. The second slider 29 is attached to the first element 24 and the second element 25. In the portion of the fastener 23 between the first slider 28 and the second slider 29, the first element 24 and the second element 25 are spaced apart from each other.
[0034] The first slider 28 and the second slider 29 move (slide) in the longitudinal direction D1 to bring the first element 24 and the second element 25, which are spaced apart from each other, into engagement with each other and to separate the first element 24 and the second element 25, which are interlocked with each other. More specifically, the first slider 28 and the second slider 29 move the first element 24 and the second element 25 away from each other as they move in the direction opposite to the side where the other is located, and also bring the first element 24 and the second element 25 into engagement with each other as they move in the direction towards the side where the other is located.
[0035] The first slider 28 and the second slider 29 can be fixed to the slide block 12. The slide block 12 is disposed on the upper surface of the casing 13 (the surface opposite the rail 11) and further includes an intermediate plate 31 (FIG. 5) having approximately the same width as the casing 13. The intermediate plate 31 is fixed to the casing 13 by a fixing member such as a bolt. As shown in FIG. 5, the second slider 29 is fixed to the intermediate plate 31. More specifically, a recess recessed toward the casing 13 is formed in approximately the center of the upper surface (the surface opposite the casing 13) of the intermediate plate 31 in the width direction D2. The lower part of the second slider 29 is fitted into this recess.
[0036] As a result, the second slider 29 is fixed to the slide block 12 (intermediate plate 31 in this embodiment). Although not shown in the cross section of Fig. 5, the first slider 28 (Fig. 3) is also fixed to the slide block 12 (intermediate plate 31 in this embodiment) in the same manner as the second slider 29. As a result, the first slider 28 and the second slider 29 move (slide) in the longitudinal direction D1 as the slide block 12 moves linearly on the rail 11, thereby opening and closing the fastener 23.
[0037] 3, the linear motion unit 1 according to this embodiment further includes a pressing member 30 that presses the first slider 28 and the second slider 29. The pressing member 30 in this embodiment has an outer shape of a rectangular parallelepiped extending in the longitudinal direction D1, but is not limited to this.
[0038] As shown in Fig. 5, a recessed portion recessed in a direction away from the intermediate plate 31 is formed on the lower surface of the pressing member 30 (the surface on the intermediate plate 31 side). The upper portion of the second slider 29 is fitted into this recessed portion. Although not shown in Fig. 5, the upper portion of the first slider 28 (Fig. 3) is also fitted into the recessed portion formed on the lower surface of the pressing member 30, similar to the second slider 29.
[0039] 3, the presser member 30 is formed with a plurality of (two in this embodiment) first through holes 32 and a plurality of (two in this embodiment) second through holes 33. The first through holes 32 and the second through holes 33 penetrate the presser member 30 in the up-down direction D3 and are aligned in a row in the longitudinal direction D1. More specifically, the first through holes 32 are sandwiched between the second through holes 33 on both sides in the longitudinal direction D1. In this embodiment, the inner diameter of the first through holes 32 is larger than the inner diameter of the second through holes 33, but this is not limiting.
[0040] 3, the first through hole 32 and the second through hole 33 are formed at a position between the first slider 28 and the second slider 29 in the longitudinal direction D1. Therefore, the first through hole 32 and the second through hole 33 overlap in the up-down direction D3 with a portion of the fastener 23 where the first element 24 and the second element 25 are spaced apart from each other. Therefore, a fixing member (not shown) such as a bolt or a screw can be inserted into the first through hole 32 and the second through hole 33, passed through the gap between the first element 24 and the second element 25, and inserted into a hole (not shown) formed in the intermediate plate 31. This allows the pressing member 30 to be fixed to the slide block 12 (the intermediate plate 31 in this embodiment).
[0041] 1, the linear motion unit 1 according to this embodiment further includes a third slider 40 and a fourth slider 41. The third slider 40 is attached on the opposite side of the first slider 28 (FIG. 3) from the second slider 29 (FIG. 3). With the fastener 23 closed between the first slider 28 and the third slider 40, the third slider 40 moves the first element 24 and the second element 25 away from each other as it moves toward the first slider 28 (the pressing member 30).
[0042] As a result, as shown in Fig. 6, a portion of the fastener 23 is opened by the third slider 40. In this state, as shown in Fig. 7, a bolt B1 or the like can be inserted into the through hole 11B of the rail 11 and a through hole (not shown) of the base plate 21, and the rail 11 can be attached to the mating member 70. Furthermore, with the fastener 23 partially open, maintenance work on the linear motion unit 1 can be performed, such as checking the condition of the track surfaces of the rail 11 and the slide block 12.
[0043] The fourth slider 41 (FIG. 1) is attached to the opposite side of the first slider 28 (FIG. 3) from the second slider 29 (FIG. 3). When the fastener 23 is closed between the second slider 29 and the fourth slider 41, the fourth slider 41 moves the first element 24 and the second element 25 away from each other as it moves toward the second slider 29. This makes it possible to open a portion of the fastener 23, similar to when the third slider 40 is used, allowing installation of the rail 11 and maintenance of the linear motion unit 1 to be performed.
[0044] As described above, in the linear motion unit 1 according to the present embodiment, when the slide block 12 moves linearly along the longitudinal direction D1 of the rail 11, the front one of the first slider 28 and the second slider 29 moves the first element 24 and the second element 25 away from each other, and then the rear one of the first slider 28 and the second slider 29 moves the first element 24 and the second element 25 into mesh with each other. Therefore, the fastener 23 is maintained in a closed state when the slide block 12 moves linearly along the longitudinal direction D1 of the rail 11, thereby ensuring dustproofness of the linear motion mechanism 10. Moreover, the fastener 23 can be opened by moving the first slider 28 toward one end of the fastener 23 and moving the second slider 29 toward the other end of the fastener 23, facilitating maintenance of the linear motion mechanism 10.
[0045] (Embodiment 2) Next, the configuration of a linear motion unit 2 according to a second embodiment will be described with reference to Figures 8 and 9. The linear motion unit 2 according to the second embodiment basically has the same configuration and produces the same effects as the linear motion unit 1 according to the first embodiment, but differs in that the linear motion mechanism is a ball screw. The following mainly describes the differences from the first embodiment.
[0046] Fig. 8 is a perspective view showing the configuration of the linear motion unit 2. Fig. 9 is a cross-sectional view taken along line IX-IX in Fig. 8. As shown in Fig. 8, the linear motion mechanism in embodiment 2 mainly includes a screw shaft 81 (raceway member) and a nut 82 (moving member).
[0047] The screw shaft 81 has a cylindrical shape, and a first spiral screw groove 81A (first rolling surface) is formed on the outer circumferential surface. Both ends of the screw shaft 81 are supported by bearings (not shown). The nut 82 is capable of linear movement along the longitudinal direction of the screw shaft 81 as the screw shaft 81 rotates about its axis. As shown in FIG. 8, the nut 82 includes a nut body 83 and a pair of end caps (a first end cap 84 and a second end cap 85) arranged on both sides of the nut body 83 in the longitudinal direction.
[0048] 9, the nut body 83 has a cylindrical shape and has a second screw groove 83A (second rolling surface) formed on its inner circumferential surface. A rolling element rolling path is formed between the first screw groove 81A and the second screw groove 83A, and a plurality of rolling elements 60 (balls) are arranged therein.
[0049] 8, the housing in the second embodiment includes a cover 91 made of a rolled-up rectangular sheet, and a fastener 92. A cutout (opening) is formed between one end and the other end of the cover 91, and the fastener 92 is disposed to extend in the longitudinal direction so as to close (cover) the opening. The fastener 92 includes a first element 93 and a second element 94 that interlock with each other.
[0050] 9, the lower surfaces of the first slider 28 and the second slider 29 are fixed to the outer peripheral surface of the nut body 83. Meanwhile, the upper surfaces of the first slider 28 and the second slider 29 are fixed to the lower surface of the pressing member 90. Therefore, the first slider 28 and the second slider 29 are fixed to the nut 82. Therefore, when the nut 82 moves linearly along the screw shaft 81, the first slider 28 and the second slider 29 can be moved along the longitudinal direction of the screw shaft 81.
[0051] (Other embodiments) Here, other embodiments will be described.
[0052] In the linear motion unit 1 according to the first embodiment, either or both of the third slider 40 and the fourth slider 41 may be omitted. In the linear motion unit 2 according to the second embodiment, either or both of the third slider and the fourth slider may be employed.
[0053] In the linear motion unit 1 according to the first embodiment, the first stay 51, the second stay 52, and the third stay 53 may be omitted.
[0054] In the linear motion unit 1 according to the first embodiment, the intermediate plate 31 may be omitted. In this case, the first slider 28 and the second slider 29 are attached directly to the casing 13.
[0055] In the above-described first embodiment, the case where there is one rail 11 and one casing 13 has been described as an example, but the present invention is not limited to this. For example, two or more casings 13 may be arranged for one rail 11, or two rails 11 may be installed in parallel.
[0056] The embodiments disclosed herein are illustrative in all respects and should not be construed as limiting.
