AI Technical Summary
In glass doors, the need to accommodate operation bodies like handles and locking devices within the vertical frame increases the frame's dimensions, making it difficult to achieve a slender design.
The door design incorporates a panel with a notch at its vertical edge, where a latch case is attached to the vertical frame and housed within the notch. This setup allows the latch to protrude and retract, with outdoor and indoor covers covering the notch from both sides, reducing the frame's thickness.
This configuration enables a slimmer vertical frame while maintaining the door's strength and operational functionality, allowing for a more aesthetically pleasing and lightweight door design.

Modes for Carrying Out the Invention
[0009] [First Embodiment] Hereinafter, the first embodiment of the present invention will be described with reference to the drawings. In FIG. 1, the door 1 according to the first embodiment includes a door frame 2 and a door leaf 3. The door frame 2 is made of metal, and in the first embodiment, includes an upper frame, a lower frame, and left and right vertical frames 11, 12 formed of aluminum extrusions (the upper and lower frames are not shown in the figure). The door leaf 3 is disposed within the door frame 2. A latch hole 111 that engages with a latch 52 described later is formed in the vertical frame 11 at the leading end of the door, and the vertical frame 12 on the hanging side supports the door leaf 3 via a hinge so that it can be rotated and opened / closed in the R direction. In the following description, the left-right direction of the door leaf 3 is defined as the X-axis direction, the up-down direction of the door leaf 3 is defined as the Y-axis direction, and the prospective direction of the door leaf 3 is defined as the Z-axis direction. The X, Y, and Z-axis directions are perpendicular to each other.
[0010] The door leaf 3 includes a frame body 33 having an upper frame, a lower frame 34, and left and right vertical frames 31, 32, a glass panel 40 as a panel disposed within the frame body 33, and an operating body 50 that operates the glass panel 40. The upper frame, the lower frame 34, and the left and right vertical frames 31, 32 are made of metal, and in the first embodiment, are formed of aluminum extrusions. Therefore, for example, compared with vertical frames made of resin, the vertical frames 31, 32 have higher rigidity, and due to the higher rigidity of the vertical frames 31, 32, the vertical frames can be made slimmer. As shown in FIGS. 1 and 2, the vertical frame 31 on the customer side has an outdoor finding surface portion 35, an indoor finding surface portion 36, prospective surface portions 37 and 38, and a pair of panel holding piece portions 39A and 39B that extend inward of the door 3 in the in-plane direction from the prospective surface portion 38 on the glass panel 40 side with respect to the prospective surface portion 37. As shown in FIG. 3, a hole 371 (rectangular hole) through which a latch 52 (see FIG. 1) described later appears and disappears is formed in the prospective surface portion 37, and a screw hole 372 to which a latch case 51 described later is screwed is formed. A hole 381 through which the latch case 51 passes is formed in the prospective surface portion 38, and screw holes 382 through which screws 5 (see FIG. 4) for screwing the indoor cover 60 and the outdoor cover 70 described later pass are formed around the hole 381 (rectangular hole). A glass panel 40 is disposed between the pair of panel holding piece portions 39A and 39B and is adhered to the outdoor surface 41 and the indoor surface 42 of the glass panel 40 with an adhesive (here, a synthetic resin adhesive). The dimension in the Z-axis direction from the prospective position of the panel holding piece portion 39A to the prospective position of the outdoor finding surface portion 35 is equal to the dimension in the Z-axis direction from the prospective position of the panel holding piece portion 39B to the prospective position of the indoor finding surface portion 36 (see FIG. 1). Further, the outdoor finding surface portion 35 and the indoor finding surface portion 36 extend from the prospective surface portion 37 toward the vertical frame 11 side, and a cover piece 342 (see FIG. 1) is attached to the extending portions of the outdoor finding surface portion 35 and the indoor finding surface portion 36 (excluding the portion to which the latch case 51 described later is attached). The vertical frame 32, the upper frame, and the lower frame 34 on the suspension side shown in FIG. 1 are formed substantially in the same manner as the vertical frame 31 except that there are no holes 371, 381 and screw holes 372, 382, etc. The glass panel 40 is a single-layer rectangle and has a thickness dimension of about 4 to 5 mm. A notch 45 (see FIG. 4) that opens at the vertical edge on the customer side is formed in the glass panel 40. The notch 45 is formed by an upper edge 46, a lower edge 47, and a side edge 48. The continuous portions of the upper edge 46 and the lower edge 47 with the side edge 48 are each formed in an arc shape. The dimension of the side edge 48 in the Y-axis direction is larger than the dimensions of the upper edge 46 and the lower edge 47 in the X-axis direction. Further, a hole 43 through which a screw 6 for fixing a fixing fitting 80 described later passes is formed in the glass panel 40.
[0011] The operating body 50 includes a latch case 51, a latch 52, a handle lever 53 for operating the latch 52 to project and retract, an indoor cover 60, and an outdoor cover 70 (see FIGS. 1 and 4). The latch case 51 is screwed to the prospective surface portion 38 by a screw 5 (see FIG. 4) passing through the screw hole 382 of the vertical frame 31. The screwed latch case 51 is disposed in the notch 45 described above. The latch 52 is accommodated in the latch case 51 and is disposed so as to be able to project and retract with respect to the hole 381 of the prospective surface portion 38. The handle lever 53 is disposed on both the outdoor side and the indoor side with respect to the glass panel 40 and is connected to the latch 52 so as to be able to project and retract.
[0012] As shown in FIG. 4, the indoor cover 60 and the outdoor cover 70 include a cover main body portion 65 having a cover upper edge 61, a cover lower edge 62, and left and right cover side edges 63, 64, an upper piece portion 66 extending toward the glass panel 40 side along the cover upper edge 61, a lower piece portion 67 extending toward the glass panel 40 side along the cover lower edge 62, a side piece portion 68 extending toward the glass panel 40 side along the cover side edge 63, and a fixing portion 69 formed along the cover side edge 64. A hole 651 through which the portion where the handle lever 53 is connected to the latch 52 passes is formed in the cover main body portion 65. The upper piece portion 66, the lower piece portion 67, and the side piece portion 68 are continuous with each other. The side piece portion 68 is attached to the glass panel 40 via a fixing metal fitting 80. In a state where the indoor cover 60 and the outdoor cover 70 are attached to the glass panel 40, the space between the indoor cover 60 and the outdoor cover 70 and the glass panel 40 is blocked from three sides. As shown in FIG. 4, the fixing portion 69 is composed of a portion folded downward from the upper piece portion 66 and a portion folded upward from the lower piece portion 67, and fixes the indoor cover 60 and the outdoor cover 70 to the prospective surface portion 38 of the vertical frame 31 by screwing with the screw 5 passing through the screw hole 382. By fixing the upper and lower fixing portions 69 to the prospective surface portion 38, the space between the cover side edge 64 of the indoor cover 60 and the outdoor cover 70 and the glass panel 40 is blocked by the vertical frame 31. The indoor cover 60 and the outdoor cover 70 attached to the vertical frame 31 and the glass panel 40 are arranged to cover the notch 45 together with the latch case 51 from the outdoor side and the indoor side. Since no screws 5 are passed through the upper piece portion 66, the possibility of the screws 5 being conspicuous when the indoor cover 60 or the outdoor cover 70 is viewed from above can be reduced.
[0013] As shown in FIG. 4, the above-described fixing fitting 80 has a rectangular plate-shaped panel fixing piece portion 81 along the in-plane direction of the door 3 and a rectangular plate-shaped cover fixing piece portion 85 along the out-of-plane direction of the door 3, and is formed in an L-shaped cross section. In the first embodiment, two upper and lower holes 82 through which the screw 6 is passed are formed in the panel fixing piece portion 81, and three upper and lower screw holes 86 into which the screw 5 is screwed are formed in the cover fixing piece portion 85. Further, three upper and lower holes 681 through which the screw 5 is passed are formed in the side piece portion 68 described above. The panel fixing piece portions 81 of the fixing fittings 80 on the outdoor side and the indoor side are arranged parallel to the side edge 48 of the notch 45, and the panel fixing piece portions 81 are abutted against the outdoor surface 41 and the indoor surface 42 of the glass panel 40, respectively. The screw 6 is passed through the hole 82 of the panel fixing piece portion 81 and the hole 43 of the glass panel 40, and the screw 6 is screwed into a nut (not shown) to be fixed to the glass panel 40. With the fixing fitting 80 fixed to the glass panel 40, the side piece portion 68 is fixed to the fixing fitting 80 by screwing the screw 5 passed through the hole 681 of the side piece portion 68 into the screw hole 86 of the cover fixing piece portion 85. In this way, the fixing fitting 80 fixes the indoor cover 60 and the outdoor cover 70 to the glass panel 40.
[0014] In the first embodiment, by arranging the latch case 51 in the notch 45 of the glass panel 40, the finding dimension of the vertical frame 31 is particularly reduced, and by covering the notch 45 with the indoor cover 60 and the outdoor cover 70 from the indoor side and the outdoor side, a door 3 with a good appearance can be configured. By providing the vertical frame 31, while improving the strength of the door 3, the thickness dimension of the glass panel 40 can be reduced, and by slimming down the vertical frame 31, the weight of the door 3 can be reduced.
[0015] [Second Embodiment] Hereinafter, a second embodiment of the present invention will be described with reference to the drawings. The door according to the second embodiment is configured in substantially the same manner as the door 1 of the first embodiment, and includes an operating body 50B (see FIGS. 5 and 6) instead of the operating body 50. Hereinafter, the description of the entire door according to the second embodiment will be omitted, and the operating body 50B will be described. The operating body 50B includes the latch case 51, the latch 52, and the handle lever 53 described above, a locking device 90B (latch lock), an indoor cover 60B, and an outdoor cover 70B (the latch 52 is shown in FIG. 1). The locking device 90B includes a knob 91 (handle) and a locking latch (latch, not shown) housed in the latch case 51. By operating the knob 91, the locking latch is moved in and out in the X-axis direction from the vertical frame 31, and is configured to be engageable with and releasable from a locking latch hole (not shown) formed in the vertical frame 11. As shown in Fig. 6, the indoor cover 60B and the outdoor cover 70B have a cover main body 65B having an upper cover edge 61B, a lower cover edge 62B, and left and right cover side edges 63B, 64B, an upper piece portion 66B extending toward the glass panel 40 along the upper cover edge 61B, a lower piece portion 67B extending toward the glass panel 40 along the lower cover edge 62, and a side piece portion 68B extending toward the glass panel 40 along the cover side edge 63B. A hole 651B through which a portion where the handle lever 53 (handle) is connected to the latch 52 passes is formed in the cover main body 65B of the indoor cover 60B and the outdoor cover 70B. The dimension of the cover main body 65B of the indoor cover 60B and the outdoor cover 70B in the X-axis direction is about twice as large as the dimensions of the upper edge 46 and the lower edge 47 of the notch 45. A hole 652B through which a portion where the knob 91 is connected to the lock latch passes is formed in the cover main body 65B of the outdoor cover 70B. The upper piece portion 66B, the lower piece portion 67B, and the side piece portion 68B are continuous with each other. The upper piece portion 66B, the lower piece portion 67B, and the side piece portion 68B are attached to the glass panel 40 via the fixing fitting 80B. When the indoor cover 60B and the outdoor cover 70B are attached to the glass panel 40, the space between the indoor cover 60B and the outdoor cover 70B and the glass panel 40 is blocked from three sides. The cover side edge 64B of the indoor cover 60B and the outdoor cover 70B abuts against the prospective surface portion 38 of the vertical frame 31, whereby the space between the indoor cover 60B and the outdoor cover 70B and the glass panel 40 is blocked by the prospective surface portion 38. The indoor cover 60B and the outdoor cover 70B attached to the glass panel 40 are arranged to cover the notch 45 together with the latch case 51 from the indoor side and the outdoor side.
[0016] As shown in Fig. 6, the above-described fixing fitting 80B has a rectangular plate-shaped panel fixing piece portion 81B along the in-plane direction of the door 3, a rectangular plate-shaped cover fixing piece portion 85B extending along the out-of-plane direction of the door 3 from the side edge along the X-axis direction of the panel fixing piece portion 81B, and a cover fixing plate portion 87B extending along the out-of-plane direction of the door 3 from one edge of the panel fixing piece portion 81B in the X-axis direction. In the second embodiment, two left and right holes through which the screw 6 passes are formed in the panel fixing piece portion 81B, two left and right screw holes 86B into which the screw 5 is screwed are formed in the cover fixing piece portion 85B, and one screw hole 88B into which the screw 5 is screwed is formed in the cover fixing plate portion 87B. Further, holes 661B, 671B, and 681B through which the screw 5 passes are formed in the above-described upper piece portion 66B, lower piece portion 67B, and side piece portion 68B. The panel fixing piece portions 81B of the fixing fittings 80B on the outdoor side and the upper side on the indoor side are arranged parallel to the upper edge 46 of the notch 45, and the panel fixing piece portions 81B of the lower fixing fittings 80B are arranged parallel to the lower edge 47 of the notch 45. The panel fixing piece portion 81B is abutted against each of the outdoor surface 41 (see Fig. 1) and the indoor surface 42 of the glass panel 40. A screw is passed through one of the left and right holes of the panel fixing piece portion 81B and the arc-shaped portion of the notch 45, and a screw 6 is passed through the other of the left and right holes of the panel fixing piece portion 81B and a hole (not shown) formed in the glass panel 40. By screwing the screw 6 into a nut (not shown), it is fixed to the glass panel 40. With the upper fixing fitting 80B fixed to the glass panel 40, the screw 5 passed through the hole 661B of the upper piece portion 66B is screwed into the screw hole 86B of the cover fixing piece portion 85B, and the screw 5 passed through the hole 681B of the side piece portion 68B is screwed into the screw hole 88B of the cover fixing plate portion 87B, whereby the side piece portion 68B is fixed to the fixing fitting 80B. With the lower fixing fitting 80B fixed to the glass panel 40, the screw 5 passed through the hole 671B of the lower piece portion 67B is screwed into the screw hole 86B of the cover fixing piece portion 85B, and the screw 5 passed through the hole 681B of the side piece portion 68B is screwed into the screw hole 88B of the cover fixing plate portion 87B, whereby the upper piece portion 66B is fixed to the fixing fitting 80B. In this way, the fixing fitting 80B fixes the indoor cover 60B and the outdoor cover 70B to the glass panel 40.
[0017] In the second embodiment, by arranging the latch case 51 in the notch 45 of the glass panel 40, the finding dimension of the vertical stile 31 is particularly reduced, and by covering the notch 45 with the indoor cover 60B and the outdoor cover 70B from the indoor side and the outdoor side, a door 3 with a good appearance can be configured. By providing the vertical stile 31, while improving the strength of the door 3, the thickness dimension of the glass panel 40 can be reduced and the vertical stile 31 can be slimmed down, thereby reducing the weight of the door 3.
[0018] [Modification Example] In the first and second embodiments, the door 3 includes an upper stile, a lower stile 34, and left and right vertical stiles 31, 32. However, the present invention is not limited to this. For example, it may include only the left and right vertical stiles 31, 32, or may include only the vertical stile 31 on the hinge side. In the first and second embodiments, the glass panel 40 is configured as a panel. However, the present invention is not limited to this, and it may be configured with a resin panel such as an acrylic panel or a metal panel. In the first and second embodiments, the upper stile, the lower stile 34, and the left and right vertical stiles 31, 32 are made of aluminum. However, other metal materials may be used. Also, when the strength required for the door 3 can be maintained, it may be configured with a resin material. In the first and second embodiments, the notch 45 of the glass panel 40 is formed by an upper edge 46, a lower edge 47, and a side edge 48. However, it may be polygonal or circular. In this case, in the first embodiment, the fixing fitting 80 is arranged laterally in the X-axis direction with respect to the notch 45. Also, in the second embodiment, the upper fixing fitting 80B is arranged above in the Y-axis direction with respect to the notch 45, and the lower fixing fitting 80B is arranged below in the Y-axis direction with respect to the notch 45. In the first and second embodiments, the upper stile, the lower stile 34, and the left and right vertical stiles 31, 32 are adhered to the glass panel 40 with a synthetic resin adhesive. However, they may be fixed with other adhesives. Also, even if they are not adhered, they may be attached to the glass panel 40 using gaskets, screws, nuts, etc. In the first embodiment, the cover main body 65 has an upper piece 66 and a lower piece 67, but these configurations may be omitted. In the second embodiment, the side piece 68B of the cover main body 65B is fixed to the upper and lower fixing brackets 80B when the fixing strength required to fix the indoor cover 60B and the outdoor cover 70B to the glass panel 40 can be obtained. However, it may not be fixed to only one of these fixing brackets 80B, and it may not be fixed to both of the fixing brackets 80B. Further, the configuration of the side piece 68B itself may be omitted. In the second embodiment, the indoor cover 60B and the outdoor cover 70B only abut against the vertical frame 31, but they may be fixed by a fixing tool such as a screw 5. In the second embodiment, the indoor cover 60B and the outdoor cover 70B abut against the vertical frame 31, but they may be slightly separated from the vertical frame 31 as long as the strength required for the door 3 is maintained.
[0019] [Summary of the Invention] The door of the present invention includes a panel, a vertical frame attached to the panel, and an operating body. A notch that opens at a vertical edge is formed in the panel. The operating body includes a latch case attached to the vertical frame and disposed in the notch, a latch housed in the latch case so as to be able to protrude and retract with respect to a hole formed in the vertical frame, a handle for operating the protrusion and retraction of the latch, an outdoor cover attached to the panel so as to cover the notch from the outdoor side, and an indoor cover attached to the panel so as to cover the notch from the indoor side. According to the door of the present invention, since the latch case is attached to the vertical frame and disposed in the notch of the panel, and the latch can protrude and retract with respect to the hole of the vertical frame, it is not necessary to accommodate the latch case in the vertical frame. Since the latch case is not accommodated, the finding dimension of the vertical frame can be reduced, and the vertical frame can be made slimmer. In addition, by attaching the vertical frame to the panel, the strength of the door can be increased compared to the case where there is no vertical frame, so the thickness dimension of the panel can be reduced.
[0020] In the door of the present invention, the panel is constituted by a glass panel, and the outdoor cover and the indoor cover may be fixed to the panel by fixing fittings. According to such a configuration, since the outdoor cover and the indoor cover are attached to the panel by fixing fittings, the periphery of the notch of the panel can be reinforced, and even if a notch in which the latch case is arranged is formed in the panel, a decrease in the strength of the door can be suppressed.
[0021] In the door of the present invention, the outdoor cover and the indoor cover may be fixed to the vertical frame and the fixing fittings. According to such a configuration, by fixing the metal outdoor cover and indoor cover to the vertical frame and the fixing fittings, the strength around the notch of the panel can be further improved, and even if a notch in which the latch case is arranged is formed in the panel, a decrease in the strength of the door can be suppressed more effectively.
[0022] In the door of the present invention, the outdoor cover and the indoor cover may include a cover main body portion having an upper cover edge, a lower cover edge, and left and right cover side edges, an upper piece portion extending toward the panel side along the upper cover edge, a lower piece portion extending toward the panel side along the lower cover edge, and a side piece portion extending toward the panel side along one of the left and right cover side edges. According to such a configuration, the upper piece portion, the lower piece portion, and the side piece portion can block the space between the cover main body portion of the outdoor cover and the indoor cover and the panel.
[0023] In the door of the present invention, the notch is formed by an upper edge, a lower edge, and a side edge, the fixing fitting has a panel fixing piece portion along the in-plane direction of the door and a cover fixing piece portion along the out-of-plane direction of the door, the panel fixing piece portion is arranged along the side edge of the notch, and the outdoor cover and the indoor cover may be fixed to the vertical frame. According to such a configuration, the outdoor cover and the indoor cover are fixed to the panel by a fixing bracket with the panel fixing piece portion along the side edge of the notch and a vertical frame, so that the strength around the notch of the panel can be sufficiently improved by using one fixing bracket without using two fixing brackets, one above and one below.
[0024] In the door of the present invention, the notch is formed by an upper edge, a lower edge, and a side edge, the fixing bracket has a panel fixing piece portion along the in-plane direction of the door and a cover fixing piece portion along the out-of-plane direction of the door, and the panel fixing piece portion may be respectively arranged along the upper edge and the lower edge of the notch. According to such a configuration, the outdoor cover and the indoor cover are fixed to the panel by a fixing bracket with the panel fixing piece portion along the upper edge of the notch and a fixing bracket with the panel fixing piece portion along the lower edge of the notch, so that the strength around the notch of the panel can be sufficiently improved without connecting the outdoor cover and the indoor cover to the vertical frame.
[0025] In the door of the present invention, the vertical frame may be adhered to the panel with an adhesive. According to such a configuration, the joining strength can be increased as compared with the case where the vertical frame is not adhered to the panel.
[0026] The door of the present invention includes a door frame and a door rotatably supported by the door frame, and the door is characterized by being constituted by the door of the present invention described above. According to the door of the present invention, a door capable of exhibiting the same operational effects as those of the above-described door can be configured.
