[0009] Hereinafter, a wire harness according to an embodiment of the present invention will be described in detail with reference to the drawings. Note that the present invention is not limited to the embodiment. Furthermore, components in the following embodiments include those that can be easily imagined by a person skilled in the art or those that are substantially the same.

[0010] [Embodiment] An embodiment will be described with reference to Figs. 1 to 9. This embodiment relates to a wire harness. Fig. 1 is a perspective view of the wire harness according to the embodiment, Fig. 2 is an exploded perspective view of the wire harness according to the embodiment, Fig. 3 is a plan view of the ground terminal and the locking structure according to the embodiment, Fig. 4 is a perspective view of the ground terminal according to the embodiment, Fig. 5 is a perspective view of the cover according to the embodiment, Fig. 6 is a diagram showing the ground terminal inserted into the through hole, Fig. 7 is a cross-sectional view showing the ground terminal inserted into the through hole, Fig. 8 is a cross-sectional view of the ground terminal temporarily locked by the locking structure of the embodiment, and Fig. 9 is a perspective view showing a curved electric wire. Fig. 7 shows a cross-section taken along line VII-VII of Fig. 6.

[0011] As shown in FIG. 1, a wire harness 1 according to this embodiment is disposed in a vehicle 100 such as an automobile. The vehicle 100 has a vehicle body 110 and a sliding door 120. The sliding door 120 is, for example, a power sliding door that is opened and closed by power from a motor or the like. FIG. 1 shows the sliding door 120 in a fully closed position. The sliding direction of the illustrated sliding door 120 is the vehicle longitudinal direction X. That is, the sliding door 120 moves relative to the vehicle body 110 along the vehicle longitudinal direction X.

[0012] The wire harness 1 connects the vehicle body 110 and the sliding door 120. More specifically, the wire harness 1 has a protector 2, an exterior member 6, electric wires 7, and a ground terminal 8. The sliding door 120 closes or opens an opening 130 provided in the vehicle body 110. When the sliding door 120 is in the fully closed position, it closes the opening 130 from the outside in the vehicle width direction Y. The protector 2 is disposed, for example, at the lower end of the opening 130 in the vehicle up-down direction Z, and is fixed to the vehicle body 110.

[0013] The exterior member 6 is a flexible tubular member, such as a corrugated tube. The illustrated exterior member 6 has a cylindrical shape. The exterior member 6 has a first end 6a and a second end 6b. The first end 6a is held by the protector 2. The second end 6b is held by a holding portion 121 of the sliding door 120. Therefore, the second end 6b moves together with the sliding door 120 in the vehicle longitudinal direction X.

[0014] The electric wires 7 are inserted through the exterior member 6 and routed from the vehicle body 110 to the sliding door 120. The wire harness 1 of this embodiment has a plurality of electric wires 7. A ground terminal 8 is connected to some of the plurality of electric wires 7. The ground terminal 8 is disposed at an end of the electric wires 7 on the vehicle body 110 side. A connector 71 is connected to the other part of the plurality of electric wires 7. The connector 71 is connected to a power source and a control device of the vehicle body 110. A connector 72 is connected to an end of the electric wires 7 on the sliding door 120 side. The connector 72 is connected to equipment of the sliding door 120.

[0015] 2, the protector 2 has a protector body 3 and a cover 4 that engages with the protector body 3. The protector body 3 and the cover 4 are molded from, for example, insulating synthetic resin.

[0016] The protector main body 3 has a wiring path 31. The wiring path 31 is a passage that accommodates the exterior member 6 and the electric wire 7. The illustrated wiring path 31 has a semi-cylindrical shape. The exterior member 6 is drawn out from one end of the wiring path 31 toward the sliding door 120. An end 7a of the electric wire 7 on the vehicle body 110 side is drawn out from the other end of the wiring path 31.

[0017] The cover 4 is a member that engages with the protector body 3 and covers the wiring path 31. More specifically, the cover 4 has a covering portion 41 that covers the wiring path 31. The covering portion 41 covers the entire wiring path 31 to form a closed space. The covering portion 41 has an end portion 41e from which the electric wire 7 is pulled out toward the vehicle body 110. The cover 4 of this embodiment has a locking structure 10 that temporarily locks the earth terminal 8. The locking structure 10 is arranged at the end portion 41e of the covering portion 41.

[0018] As shown in Fig. 3, the wire harness 1 of this embodiment has two ground terminals 8. Ends 7a of the electric wires 7 connected to the ground terminals 8 each protrude into the external space of the protector 2. The ground terminal 8 is connected to these ends 7a. Two electric wires 7 are connected to one ground terminal 8.

[0019] The cover 4 has one locking structure 10 for one ground terminal 8. That is, the cover 4 of this embodiment has two locking structures 10. The locking structure 10 has a through hole 11 into which the ground terminal 8 is inserted. The through hole 11 penetrates the cover portion 41 along the thickness direction of the cover portion 41, and connects the internal space of the protector 2 with the external space. The cover portion 41 is an outer wall portion of the protector 2 and faces the external space of the protector 2. The cover portion 41 has an outer surface 41a. The outer surface 41a faces the external space of the protector 2 and faces the opposite side to the wiring path 31. The through hole 11 penetrates the cover portion 41 from the outer surface 41a toward the wiring path 31.

[0020] The shape of through hole 11 in a plan view is elongated, for example, rectangular. Through hole 11 has length L1. Length L1 is the dimension of through hole 11 in the longitudinal direction when through hole 11 is viewed in a plan view. In the following description, the dimension of through hole 11 in a direction perpendicular to length L1 is referred to as the width of through hole 11.

[0021] As shown in FIG. 4, the ground terminal 8 has plate-shaped base portions 81 and 85, a tip portion 82, a bent portion 83, and crimped portions 84 and 86. The ground terminal 8 is formed from a conductive metal plate. The illustrated ground terminal 8 is formed by stacking two base portions 81 and 85. Each of the base portions 81 and 85 has a through hole. The ground terminal 8 is fixed to the vehicle body 110 by a fastening member inserted into the through holes of the base portions 81 and 85.

[0022] The tip portion 82 is connected to the base portions 81 and 85 via a bent portion 83. The tip portion 82 has a flat plate shape. The tip portion 82 is positioned offset from the base portion 81 in the thickness direction of the base portion 81. The tip portion 82 extends, for example, parallel to the base portion 81.

[0023] The bent portion 83 connects the base portion 81 and the tip portion 82 and is formed in a stepped shape. More specifically, the bent portion 83 has a first bent portion 83a and a second bent portion 83b. The first bent portion 83a is located at the end of the bent portion 83 on the base portion 81 side. The second bent portion 83b is located at the end of the bent portion 83 on the tip portion 82 side. The first bent portion 83a and the second bent portion 83b are each bent at a substantially right angle. The first bent portion 83a is bent in a direction perpendicular to the base portion 81. The second bent portion 83b is bent so that the tip portion 82 protrudes toward the side opposite the wire 7. In this way, the bent portion 83 forms a stepped shape by shifting the positions of the base portion 81 and the tip portion 82 in the plate thickness direction.

[0024] The crimping portion 84 is connected to the base portion 81. That is, in the illustrated ground terminal 8, the crimping portion 84, the base portion 81, the bent portion 83, and the tip portion 82 are integrated. The crimping portion 86 is connected to the base portion 85. The crimping portions 84 and 86 are each crimped to the core wire 71 of the electric wire 7. One crimping portion 84 is connected to one electric wire 7, and the other crimping portion 86 is connected to another electric wire 7.

[0025] The base 81 has a tapered portion 81t. The tapered portion 81t is connected to the bent portion 83. The width Wd1 of the tapered portion 81t narrows as it approaches the bent portion 83 along the longitudinal direction of the ground terminal 8. That is, the shape of the tapered portion 81t in a plan view is a tapered shape in which the width Wd1 narrows as it approaches the bent portion 83. The two side surfaces 81s of the tapered portion 81t are each inclined with respect to the longitudinal direction of the ground terminal 8. The two side surfaces 81s approach each other as they approach the bent portion 83.

[0026] The shape of the tip portion 82 in a plan view is substantially rectangular. In the illustrated ground terminal 8, the widths of the tip portion 82 and the bent portion 83 are substantially uniform. In other words, the bent portion 83 and the tip portion 82 are formed by bending a rectangular plate portion of uniform width.

[0027] The locking structure 10 for temporarily locking the ground terminal 8 as described above will be further described. As shown in FIG. 5, the locking structure 10 has a cylindrical storage wall 12 in addition to the through hole 11. The storage wall 12 protrudes from the inner surface 41b of the cover portion 41. The inner surface 41b is the surface opposite to the outer surface 41a shown in FIG. 3 and faces the wiring path 31. In other words, the storage wall 12 protrudes toward the wiring path 31. The storage wall 12 is arranged to surround the through hole 11. In other words, the storage wall 12 protrudes from the periphery of the through hole 11.

[0028] The illustrated shape of the accommodation wall 12 is a rectangular tube. The accommodation wall 12 forms an accommodation space 12s. When the ground terminal 8 is inserted into the through-hole 11, a tip portion 82 of the ground terminal 8 protrudes into the accommodation space 12s. The accommodation wall 12 is configured so that the tip portion 82 can be accommodated inside the accommodation space 12s so that the tip portion 82 does not protrude toward the wiring path 31.

[0029] The locking structure 10 temporarily locks the ground terminal 8 when the wire harness 1 is assembled to the vehicle 100. When starting the assembly work of the wire harness 1, the worker first temporarily locks the ground terminal 8 using the locking structure 10. FIG. 6 shows the ground terminal 8 inserted into the through hole 11 in the temporary locking process. As shown in FIG. 6, the protector body 3 has a wire fixing portion 32. The wire fixing portion 32 is a piece provided on an extension line of the wiring path 31. The wire 7 is fixed to the wire fixing portion 32 by wrapping it with tape or the like.

[0030] In the temporary locking process, the worker inserts the tip portion 82 of the ground terminal 8 into the through hole 11. The length L1 of the through hole 11 is greater than the width of the tip portion 82 and the bent portion 83. The width of the through hole 11 is also greater than the plate thickness of the tip portion 82 and the bent portion 83. In other words, the through hole 11 has a length L1 and width that allow the tip portion 82 and the bent portion 83 to be inserted into the through hole 11.

[0031] The through hole 11 is formed so as to be able to lock onto the tapered portion 81t of the base 81. As shown in Fig. 6, when the tapered portion 81t is inserted into the through hole 11, the edge 11e of the through hole 11 locks onto the side surface 81s of the tapered portion 81t. In other words, the tapered portion 81t has an interlocking portion that cannot be inserted into the through hole 11. The width of the interlocking portion is greater than the length L1 of the through hole 11.

[0032] FIG. 7 shows the ground terminal 8 engaged by the through-hole 11. The position of the ground terminal 8 shown in FIG. 7 is the position of the ground terminal 8 inserted to the farthest extent within its insertable range. As shown in FIG. 7, the tip portion 82 of the ground terminal 8 is accommodated in the accommodation space 12s. The accommodation wall 12 is formed so that the entire tip portion 82 can be accommodated in the accommodation space 12s. As shown in FIGS. 5 and 7, the accommodation wall 12 has wall portions 12a and 12b facing each other. The accommodation wall 12 also has a pair of wall portions 12c and 12c connecting the wall portions 12a and 12b. The tip surface of the tip portion 82 is located between the wall portions 12a and 12b and is accommodated inside the accommodation space 12s.

[0033] The wall portion 12c faces the side surface of the tip portion 82 and regulates the angle of the tip portion 82. For example, if the tip portion 82 moves in the width direction, the wall portion 12c abuts against the tip portion 82 and regulates the swing of the ground terminal 8. This prevents adjacent ground terminals 8 from getting caught or damaged due to interference with each other. Furthermore, the length L1 of the through hole 11 is determined so that the provisionally locked ground terminal 8 does not wobble. For example, the length L1 of the through hole 11 is slightly larger than the width of the tip portion 82 and the bent portion 83, which can suppress wobbling of the ground terminal 8.

[0034] As described above, the through hole 11 locks the ground terminal 8 so that the ground terminal 8 does not protrude from the accommodation space 12s toward the wiring path 31. This prevents the ground terminal 8 from coming into contact with the electric wire 7 in the wiring path 31.

[0035] After inserting the tip portion 82 of the ground terminal 8 into the through-hole 11, the worker lays the ground terminal 8 down toward the temporary locking position. FIG. 8 shows the ground terminal 8 in the temporary locking position. The locking structure 10 temporarily locks the ground terminal 8 by aligning the base portion 81 with the outer surface 41a of the cover portion 41 and the tip portion 82 with the inner surface 41b of the cover portion 41. The size of the step formed by the bent portion 83 corresponds to the depth of the through-hole 11.

[0036] When fixing the ground terminal 8 to the vehicle body 110, the worker removes the ground terminal 8 from the locking structure 10. In this case, the worker raises the ground terminal 8 to the upright position shown in FIG. 7 and then removes the ground terminal 8 from the through-hole 11. The locking structure 10 of this embodiment makes it easy to temporarily lock the ground terminal 8 and to remove the temporarily locked ground terminal 8.

[0037] Furthermore, in the temporary locking process, the ground terminal 8 is locked by the through hole 11 so that the ground terminal 8 does not protrude toward the wiring path 31. This allows the worker to safely insert the ground terminal 8 all the way into the through hole 11. This improves the work efficiency and safety in the temporary locking process.

[0038] Furthermore, as will be described below, the locking structure 10 of this embodiment is arranged to improve the holding force for the temporarily locked ground terminal 8. As shown in FIG. 9 , the locking structure 10 is arranged to curve the electric wire 7 connected to the temporarily locked ground terminal 8. The illustrated locking structure 10 is arranged so that the electric wire 7 assumes a C-shape or a U-shape when the ground terminal 8 is inserted into the through-hole 11. Therefore, the locking structure 10 can curve the electric wire 7 between the temporarily locked ground terminal 8 and the wiring path 31. As a result, tension is always applied to the curved electric wire 7 when the ground terminal 8 is temporarily locked.

[0039] The tension acting on the electric wire 7 is a force that makes it more difficult for the ground terminal 8 to slip out of the through-hole 11 than when there is no tension. The tension acting on the electric wire 7 may be, for example, a force that presses the tip portion 82 of the ground terminal 8 toward the inner surface 41b, or a force that presses the bent portion 83 toward the wall surface of the accommodation wall 12.

[0040] The curved electric wire 7 can maintain the ground terminal 8 in a provisionally locked state until an operator removes the ground terminal 8 from the locking structure 10. Therefore, the wire harness 1 of the present embodiment can appropriately suppress interference between the ground terminal 8 and surrounding components when the wire harness 1 is assembled to the vehicle 100.

[0041] Furthermore, the locking structure 10 is arranged so as to suppress interference between adjacent ground terminals 8. As shown in FIG. 6 and other figures, the two through holes 11 are arranged so that they extend in different directions. As a result, as shown in FIG. 9, two adjacent ground terminals 8 protrude from the through holes 11 in different directions. The two ground terminals 8 protrude from the corresponding through holes 11 to form a V-shape. Therefore, the locking structure 10 of this embodiment can suppress interference between the ground terminals 8. Furthermore, the tip portions 82 of the ground terminals 8 are individually housed within the housing wall 12. Therefore, interference between the ground terminals 8 inside the protector 2 is suppressed.

[0042] As described above, the wire harness 1 according to this embodiment includes the protector 2 having the routing path 31, the electric wire 7, and the ground terminal 8. The electric wire 7 is routed in the routing path 31 of the protector 2, and has an end 7a that protrudes into the external space of the protector 2. The ground terminal 8 is connected to the end 7a of the electric wire 7. The ground terminal 8 has a base 81, a tip 82, and a stepped bent portion 83. The base 81 is plate-shaped and connected to the electric wire 7. The tip 82 is connected to the base 81 via the bent portion 83, and is shifted from the base 81 in the plate thickness direction of the base 81.

[0043] The protector 2 has a locking structure 10 that temporarily locks the ground terminal 8. The locking structure 10 is disposed in a position facing the wiring path 31. The locking structure 10 has an elongated through hole 11 and a cylindrical accommodating wall 12. The through hole 11 is provided in the outer wall of the protector 2, and at least the tip portion 82 of the ground terminal 8 can be inserted into the through hole 11. The accommodating wall 12 protrudes from the periphery of the through hole 11 toward the wiring path 31. The accommodating wall 12 forms an accommodating space 12s that accommodates the tip portion 82. When the ground terminal 8 is inserted into the through hole 11, the through hole 11 locks the ground terminal 8 so that the tip portion 82 does not protrude from the accommodating space 12s toward the wiring path 31. The wire harness 1 of this embodiment can suppress contact between the temporarily locked ground terminal 8 and the electric wire 7 in the wiring path 31.

[0044] The through hole 11 in this embodiment has a length L1 and width that allow the tip portion 82 and the bent portion 83 to be inserted into the through hole 11. The base 81 of the ground terminal 8 has an engaged portion that cannot be inserted into the through hole 11. The engaged portion in this embodiment is a tapered portion 81t of the base 81. The width of the engaged portion is greater than the length L1 of the through hole 11. When the ground terminal 8 is inserted into the through hole 11, the through hole 11 engages the engaged portion at a position before the tip portion 82 protrudes from the accommodation space 12s toward the wiring path 31. Providing an engaged portion on the ground terminal 8 more reliably restricts contact between the ground terminal 8 and the electric wire 7.

[0045] The locking structure 10 of this embodiment provisionally locks the ground terminal 8 by aligning the base 81 with the outer surface 41a of the outer wall portion of the protector 2 and the tip 82 with the inner surface 41b of the outer wall portion. With this configuration, the posture of the provisionally locked ground terminal 8 is stable.

[0046] The locking structure 10 of this embodiment is arranged so as to bend the electric wire 7 between the temporarily locked ground terminal 8 and the wiring path 31. The tension of the bent electric wire 7 functions as a force to prevent the temporarily locked ground terminal 8 from coming loose.

[0047] The arrangement and shape of the locking structure 10 are not limited to those exemplified in this embodiment. For example, the shape of the storage wall 12 is not limited to a rectangular tube. As an example, the shape of the storage wall 12 may be cylindrical. The position of the locking structure 10 in the protector 2 is not limited to the end 41e on the side from which the electric wire 7 is pulled out. The locking structure 10 is appropriately arranged so that the provisionally locked earth terminal 8 and electric wire 7 do not interfere with the assembly work.

[0048] The configuration and shape of the ground terminal 8 are not limited to those exemplified in this embodiment. For example, the ground terminal 8 does not have to have the base portion 85 and the crimping portion 86. The locked portion of the base portion 81 is not limited to the tapered portion 81t. For example, the base portion 81 may have a protruding portion or a stepped portion that protrudes in the width direction as the locked portion. The through hole 11 may be configured to lock the bent portion 83 of the ground terminal 8. In this case, the bent portion 83 becomes the locked portion of the ground terminal 8.

[0049] The contents disclosed in the above embodiments can be implemented in appropriate combinations. [Explanation of symbols]
