Abstract

To ensure quality of a roll material.SOLUTION: A packaging roll material is obtained by winding a piece of belt-like paper material 12, and partially laminating a seal material in advance onto the paper material 12. The packaging roll material comprises: a first additional part 14a, which is provided on the paper material 12 continuously in a roll peripheral direction D1 along one end edge S1 in a roll axial direction D2, and in which a one-end seal material being at least part of the seal material, is laminated in advance in a thickness direction with respect to the paper material 12, so as to add a thickness in a roll diameter direction of the paper material 12; and a second additional part 15a, which is provided on the paper material 12 continuously in the roll peripheral direction D1 along the other end edge S2 in the roll axial direction D2, in which a laminate material is laminated in advance in the thickness direction with respect to the paper material 12, so as to add a thickness in the roll diameter direction of the paper material 12.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1

[Technical Field]

[0001] The present invention relates to a roll material for packaging, in which a sealing material is partially pre-laminated on a roll of paper material. [Background technology]

[0002] 2. Description of the Related Art As one type of packaging material, a material in which a sealing material is pre-laminated onto a paper material is known. For example, as shown in Fig. 12, a roll material 1 is known in which a strip-shaped paper material 2 is wound into a roll and a sealing material such as an adhesive or pressure-sensitive adhesive is pre-laminated on this paper material (see Patent Documents 1 and 2). Also, as shown in Fig. 13, a pattern is known in which the sealing material 4 laminated on the paper material 2A is provided continuously on one edge S1 in the strip width direction but not on the other edge S2 in the strip width direction (see Patent Document 3). [0004] However, as shown in FIG. 14 , in a roll material 1 in which a paper material laminated with a sealing material in the above-described pattern is wound, the sealing material is provided continuously on one axial edge S1 of the roll but not on the other axial edge S2, or is provided discontinuously. As a result, the thickness of the sealing material differs between the outer diameter d1 of one end of the roll in the axial direction and the outer diameter d2 of the other end of the roll in the axial direction. For example, a roll material wound with only paper material (shown by a two-dot chain line in FIG. 14 ) has a cylindrical outer shape, whereas a roll material 1 in which the sealing material is provided continuously only on one axial edge S1 of the roll (shown by a solid line in FIG. 14 ) may be distorted, for example, into a truncated cone shape. Such distortion of shape may result in wrinkles or kinks in the paper material or poor feeding performance, thereby reducing the quality of the roll material. Therefore, there is room for improvement in ensuring the quality of roll materials.

[0005] The present invention was conceived with a focus on these issues, and one of its objectives is to ensure the quality of roll materials. However, other objectives of the present invention are to achieve the effects and advantages derived from the various configurations shown in the "Mode for Carrying Out the Invention" below, which cannot be achieved with conventional technologies. [0009] A roll material will be described as an embodiment. The roll material is a packaging roll material in which a strip-shaped (also called "web-shaped") sheet of paper material is wound into a roll. In this embodiment, two embodiments are illustrated. In each embodiment, the roll material is used in a downstream portion of a production line for manufacturing products, where packaging sheets are cut to an appropriate length and used to package contents such as products. In each embodiment, an aggregate of multiple toilet rolls is illustrated as an example of the contents to be packaged.

[0010] The sealing material for the roll material is partially laminated onto the paper material in advance to join and seal the overlapping portions (overlapped portions) and folded portions (folded portions) that will be wrapped together during packaging. In the following description, the front and back sides of a paper material refer to the side that faces outward after packaging, and the back side refers to the side that faces inward (toward the contents) after packaging. In other words, one of the inside and outside sides of the paper material in the radial direction of the roll refers to either the front or back side, and the other of the inside and outside sides of the paper material in the radial direction of the roll refers to the other of the front or back side. [0011] [I. First embodiment] [II. Configuration] As shown in Fig. 1, roll material 11 in this embodiment is a packaging material in which a strip-shaped paper material 12 is wound into a roll. Paper material 12 unwound from roll material 11 is cut to a required length in the longitudinal direction D1 (in the circumferential direction of the roll in the roll form), thereby forming a sheet 13 in the form of a single leaf as shown in Fig. 3. This sheet 13 is used to package contents 10 (here, a collection of toilet rolls), as shown in Fig. 5.

[0012] As shown in FIG. 1 and FIG. 2(a), a seal material 14 (one-end seal material) is continuously provided in the roll circumferential direction D1 on one end edge S1 of the front surface F1 of the paper material 12 in the roll axial direction D2. The sealing material layer 14a is laminated in advance. The sealing material layer 14a illustrated here is disposed in a strip-like region that is smaller than the paper material 12 in the roll axial direction. The sealing material layer 14a is a portion (first addition portion) that adds thickness in the roll radial direction of the paper material 12. Note that one edge S1 of the front surface F1 of the paper material 12 is the portion that is overlapped and joined facing the back surface F2 of the other edge S2 of the paper material 12 (see FIG. 5).

Furthermore, even if the thickness t1 of the sealing material layer 14a and the thickness t2 of the laminated material layer 15a are different, the difference between these thicknesses t1 and t2 (the absolute value of "t1-t2") is assumed to be smaller than the thickness of the paper material 12.

Actions and Effects] In the roll material 11 according to this embodiment, not only is a sealing material layer 14a pre-laminated on one end edge S1 in the roll axial direction D2 of the paper material 12, but a laminated material layer 15a is pre-laminated on the other end edge S2 in the roll axial direction D2. Therefore, compared to a roll material in which a sealing material is pre-laminated only on one end edge in the roll axial direction of the paper material, and the shape is distorted (see the solid line in Figure 14), it is possible to prevent the difference in outer diameter d between one side and the other side in the roll axial direction D2. In this way, distortion of the shape of the roll material 11 is suppressed, and wrinkles and creases do not form in the paper material 12. This also prevents the occurrence of cracks and prevents poor feeding of the paper material, thereby ensuring the quality of the roll material 1.

[0019] The sealing material layer 14a and the laminated material layer 15a illustrated here have the same or almost the same thickness, so that the outer diameter (winding diameter) d of the roll material 11 can be made uniform in the roll axial direction, as shown in Fig. 4. For reference, the two-dot chain line in Fig. 4 shows the outer diameter (winding diameter) of the roll material that does not have the sealing material layer and the laminated material layer. In the roll material 11 illustrated in this embodiment, both the sealing material layer 14a and the laminated material layer 15a are arranged only on the front surface F1 of the paper material 12, so these layers 14a, 15a can be provided simply by laminating them from the front surface (one side), which helps reduce manufacturing costs.

[0020] Furthermore, when printed material is used in the laminated material 15 of the laminated material layer 15a, since the laminated material layer 15a is the part that determines the appearance after packaging, the printed material that determines the appearance, such as color or pattern, can be used to prevent the shape of the roll material 11 from being distorted. Furthermore, when a sealing material is used in the laminated material 15 of the laminated material layer 15a, the sealing material layer 14a and the laminated material layer 15a in the paper material 12 unwound from the roll material 11 can be prevented from coming into contact with or being soiled by surrounding equipment, etc., compared to when the laminated material layer is pre-laminated on the back surface F2 of the paper material.

Variations] In the first embodiment described above, an example was described in which both the sealing material layer 14a and the laminate material layer 15a were arranged on the front surface F1. However, the present invention is not limited to this configuration, and the sealing material layer 14a may be arranged on one of the front surface F1 and the back surface F2 of the paper material 12, and the laminate material layer 15a may be arranged on the other of the front surface F1 and the back surface F2 of the paper material 12.

[0024] [II. Second Embodiment] [II-I. Configuration] As shown in Figure 6, roll material 21 of this embodiment also has paper material 22 wound in a roll shape. Paper material 22 unwound from roll material 21 is cut to the required length in the longitudinal direction D1 (in the circumferential direction of the roll when in roll form) to form sheet-like sheets 23 as shown in Figure 8, and a collection of toilet rolls, which is content 10, is packaged in these sheets 23.

Actions and Effects] In the first embodiment of the roll material 11, since no sealing material or laminate material is provided between the sealing material layer 14a and the laminate material layer 15a, the area between these layers 14a, 15a can be shaped like a drum, with an outer diameter smaller than that of the area outside in the axial direction of the roll. In contrast, the roll material 21 according to this embodiment has a roll axial direction of the paper material 22. In this case, as shown in Figure 11(a), sealing material layers 24a, 26a, and 27a are arranged in a U-shape on the edges of three of the four sides excluding the other edge S2 when viewed from the front. Also, as shown in Figure 11(b), sealing material layers 25a, 26a, and 27a are arranged in a U-shape on the edges of three of the four sides excluding one edge S1 when viewed from the front.

When this body attachment method is adopted, the amount of heat applied to the heat-sensitive sealing material from the heat source tends to decrease as the in-line packaging speed increases. Therefore, by using sealing materials 24, 25 that are attached to the body of the roll with the sealing material layers 24a, 25a facing each other, the adhesive strength of the body attachment can be ensured even with a reduced amount of heat, thereby improving packaging efficiency (productivity).

[0038] Furthermore, in the seal material 26, 27 (third additional portion) of the roll material according to the modified example of the second embodiment described with reference to FIG. 10, the seal material layers 26a, 27a laminated on the front surface F1 and the seal material layers 26a, 27a laminated on the back surface F2 are preferably arranged so as not to overlap each other in a front view (plan view). Specifically, the seal material layers 26a, 27a on the front surface F1 are preferably arranged in stripes intermittently arranged along the roll circumferential direction D1 (i.e., areas where no seal material layer is provided are arranged intermittently along the roll circumferential direction D1), and the seal material layers 26a, 27a on the back surface F1 are preferably arranged in areas that overlap the intermittent areas where no seal material layer is provided on the front surface F1 in a front view. Even if the seal material layers 26a, 27a arranged in this manner are laminated to a thickness equivalent to that of the seal material layers 24a, 25a, the seal material 26, 27 does not have a double thickness (it has a thickness equivalent to that of the seal material 24). This reliably prevents distortion of the shape of the roll material 21, further reduces wrinkles and kinks in the paper material 22, and further reduces problems with the paper material being fed out. This improves the quality of the roll material 21. In addition, although a collection of toilet rolls has been given as an example of the contents to be packaged, the contents that can be packaged using the paper material of the roll material in this case are not limited to this and can be applied to various other contents.
