Abstract

To enable correct reading to a possible extent while reducing the troublesomeness in an erroneous detection of duplicate feed.SOLUTION: A device for carrying original includes, under setting of a theoretical threshold matched with a transport route, a control unit acquires a detection result of a duplicate-feed detecting unit and a calculation value calculated based on a transport length of an original, and determines that there is duplicate feed if the calculation value is greater than the theoretical threshold (step S120). If the calculation value is smaller than the theoretical threshold, no duplicate feed is determined. Besides, if non-detection period of time of duplicate feed arises (step S110), the control unit at step S115 resets a cumulative value. As a result, no duplicate feed is determined when detection of duplicate feed is completed in a short period of time while carrying out transport and no duplicate feed is detected.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
