FIG. DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION
[0010] Hereinafter, embodiments of the present invention will be described with reference to Figs. 1 to 24. Fig. 1 is a left-front perspective view of a task chair 6 equipped with a seat section 1 according to an embodiment of the present invention, with the second and third support sections folded. Fig. 2 is a left-front perspective view of a task chair 7 equipped with a seat section 2 according to the present invention, with only the third support section folded. Fig. 3 is a left-front perspective view of a task chair 8 equipped with a seat section 3 according to the present invention in an unfolded state. Fig. 4 is a left-front perspective view of the lumbar region of a task chair 6 equipped with a seat section 1 according to the present invention, with the second and third support sections folded, when in use. Fig. 5 is a left-front perspective view of the lumbar region of a seat 7 for a task chair equipped with a seat section 2 according to the present invention, with only the third support section folded, when in use. Fig. 6 is a left-front perspective view of the lumbar region of a task chair 8 equipped with a seat section 3 according to the present invention in an unfolded state, when in use. The work chair 6 is suitable for a standing posture, and is designed to support and allow comfortable standing work for long periods of time by adjusting the length of the support column 4 to a height that supports the buttocks when used in an upright position. In particular, the seat can be transformed from seat section 1 to seat section 2 and seat section 3, allowing the chair to be optimized for each use as work chair 7 and work chair 8.
[0011] As shown in Figure 4, the work chair 6 includes legs 5, a support column 4 attached to the legs 5, and a seat 1 supported on the upper end of the support column 4. The seat changes shape to form the seat 1, and the support column 4 supports the buttocks under the crotch when the user is standing upright. As shown in Figure 4, the work chair 6 is designed for tasks requiring continuous standing, such as those performed by videographers and surgeons, and requires the user to maintain balance. When performing tasks in an upright position for long periods of time, alleviating the strain on the lower back and reducing fatigue over time has been a challenge. In particular, videographers and doctors who perform delicate and precise procedures experience significant lower back strain from standing for extended periods of time. The work chair 6 maintains an excellent center of gravity and reduces fatigue without impairing the delicate and precise operability of technicians, which can only be achieved by standing upright. The compact design of the legs 5 ensures that the work chair 6 does not obstruct foot space.
[0012] As shown in Figure 5, work chair 7 includes legs 5, support posts 4 erected on legs 5, and seat 2 supported on the upper ends of support posts 4. The seat changes shape to form seat 2, and support posts 4 support the user's buttocks when seated, thereby transforming into work chair 7. The seat 2 is best used with support posts 4 at a low height and with the user's knees bent at a right angle. As the user sits with both legs apart and the center of gravity positioned slightly backward, work chair 7 is easy to stand up from and allows the user to concentrate on precise work while seated.
[0013] As shown in Figure 6, work chair 8 includes legs 5, support posts 4 erected on legs 5, and seat 3 supported on the upper ends of support posts 4. The seat changes shape to form seat 3, and support posts 4 become a simple chair that supports the buttocks when seated. When seat 3 is in use, the height of support posts 4 is somewhat low, making it work chair 8, which can be used to sit on without worrying about the position of the center of gravity. The classification of work chairs 6, 7, and 8 depends on the height of support posts 4 and the position of the center of gravity, which differ depending on the mode of use, and on the shape of the seat.
[0014] The present invention is characterized by seats 1, 2, and 3, whose seat surfaces are deformable, and the configurations of seats 1, 2, and 3 will be described in detail below. FIG. 7 is a left front perspective view of seat 1 according to an embodiment of the present invention, with the second and third support sections folded. FIG. 8 is a left rear perspective view of seat 1 according to the present invention, with the second and third support sections folded. FIG. 9 is a left front perspective view of seat 2 according to the present invention, with only the third support section folded. FIG. 10 is a left rear perspective view of seat 2 according to the present invention, with only the third support section folded. FIG. 11 is a left front perspective view of seat 3 according to the present invention, with the seat unfolded. FIG. 12 is a left rear perspective view of seat 3 according to the present invention, with the seat unfolded. FIG. 13 is a left front explanatory perspective view of the underside of seat 3 according to the present invention, with the seat unfolded.
[0015] As shown in Figures 7 to 13, seat portion 1, seat portion 2, and seat portion 3 are configured to include a first support portion 11, second support portions 10A and 10B, and third support portions 9A and 9B. At least one support column 4 is attached to the underside of the center of seat portion 1, seat portion 2, and seat portion 3. The seat surfaces are each characterized by an independent rectangular shape, with the front portion being longer than the rear portion, and second support portions 10A and 10B, with the front portion being shorter than the rear portion. First support portions 11, located in the center and with the front portion being the same length as or shorter than the rear portion, are combined with each other. The first support portion 11, the second support portions 10A and 10B, and the third support portions 9A and 9B each have at least one or more rectangular support plates. The front and rear portions of the support plates are parallel, the side portions are longer than the front and rear portions, and have a uniform thickness. The third support portions 9A and 9B are foldable toward the back surface of the second support portions 10A and 10B, opposite the first support portion 11. A front plate 14 and a rear plate 15, which are foldable, are placed in front of and behind the back surface of the first support portion 11. The support portions are composed of multiple support plates, and the side portions of the support portions are foldable.
[0016] Seats 1, 2, and 3 are configured with five support parts 13 connected to the back side by hinges 22, allowing them to be freely folded and deformed in the back direction, and this connected state is called five support parts 13 (9A, 9B, 10A, 10B, 11). When not folded, seat 3 is configured as a rectangular plate 12 that is close to a square, and rectangular plate 12 is the collective term for the planar arrangement of five support parts 13 (9A, 9B, 10A, 10B, 11). The five support parts 13 (9A, 9B, 10A, 10B, 11) are configured to include third support part 9A, third support part 9B, second support part 10A, second support part 10B, first support part 11, hinges 22, and reinforcing member 27 of support column 4.
[0017] When the seat 3 is not folded, the seat surface can be used as a two-dimensional task chair 8. In addition, by folding only the third support parts 9A and 9B along the first folding line 20, the seat surface can be deformed into a two-dimensional trapezoidal seat part 2, which can be used as task chair 7. As shown in FIG. 13, the structure of the seat shape deformation is such that a front panel 14 and a rear panel 15 are foldably hingedly attached to the front and rear of the back surface of the first support part 11, respectively. The front panel 14 and the rear panel 15 are a pair, and each has an upper periphery that is a partially overlapping arc shape, trapezoid, and rectangle. By standing the pair of front panel 14 and rear panel 15, the upper peripheries of the front panel 14 and the rear panel 15 engage with the back surfaces of the five support parts 13 (9A, 9B, 10A, 10B, 11), respectively. Each of the five support parts 13 (9A, 9B, 10A, 10B, 11) is connected by hinges 22 in a foldable manner in the back direction, and is characterized in that by folding along the first folding line 20 and the second folding line 21, the seat surface can be transformed into a three-dimensional seat part 1 for use.
[0018] The configuration of seat portion 1, seat portion 2, and seat portion 3 includes a third support portion 9A, a third support portion 9B, a second support portion 10A, a second support portion 10B, a first support portion 11, a front panel 14 arranged on the back side of first support portion 11, a rear panel 15, a first guide 16 that holds the front panel 14, a second guide 17 that holds the front panel 14, a first guide 18 that holds the rear panel 15, a second guide 19 that holds the rear panel 15, a hinge 22, a screw hole 23, a hand screw 24, a first reinforcing member 25, a second reinforcing member 26, and a reinforcing member 27 of the support column 4 that engages with the support column 4.
[0019] An outline of the structure that allows the seat 1 to change shape depending on the user's intended use while standing will be explained with reference to Figures 14 and 15. Figure 14 is a front view of the seat 1 according to an embodiment of the present invention with the second and third support sections folded. Figure 15 is a bottom view of the seat 1 according to the present invention with the second and third support sections folded. As shown in Figures 14 and 15, the seat 1 is made up of five support sections 13 (9A, 9B, 10A, 10B, 11) that combine rectangular support sections. The front and rear sections of the five support sections, the first support section 11, second support sections 10A, 10B, and third support sections 9A, 9B, are parallel to each other, the sides are longer than the front and rear sections, and have a constant thickness. They are connected by hinges 22 and are foldable to form the five support sections 13 (9A, 9B, 10A, 10B, 11).
[0020] As shown in the figure, the configuration of the five support parts 13 (9A, 9B, 10A, 10B, 11) is such that the second support part 10A and the second support part 10B are foldable on the left and right sides of the first support part 11, in the back surface direction, when folded; the third support part 9A and the third support part 9B are foldable on the left and right sides opposite where the second support parts 10A and 10B meet the first support part 11, in the back surface direction, when folded; and a pair of foldable front and rear panels 14 and 15 are hinged and stand perpendicular to each other on the front and back sides of the back surface of the first support part 11, and the seat part 1 is folded in the back surface direction along the first folding line 20 and the second folding line 21. The saddle shape of the seat 1 is formed by a pair of front and rear plates 14 and 15, the front plate 14 and the upper outer periphery of the rear plate 15 engaging with the rear surfaces of the five support parts 13 (9A, 9B, 10A, 10B, 11). The means for fixing the seat 1 in a deformed state is provided by a first guide 16 that holds the front plate 14 between the rear plates 13 (9A, 9B, 10A, 10B, 11) and a second guide 17 that holds the front plate 14 between them, and a first guide 18 that holds the rear plate 15 that is held between the rear plates 13 (9A, 9B, 10A, 10B, 11) and a second guide 19 that holds the rear plate 15 between them, and the rear plate 15 is fixed in place by the first guide 18 that holds the rear plate 15 between the rear plates 13 (9A, 9B, 10A, 10B, 11) and a second guide 19 that holds the rear plate 15 between them. This provides a means for releasably fixing the shape of the seat 1 after deformation. The third support parts 9A and 9B located on the outside are symmetrical, while the first support part 11 located in the center is an elongated rectangle with the front part being the same length as or shorter than the rear part. It is desirable that the shape be neither too thin nor too thick to support the user's buttocks and the area around the intergluteal cleft, so as not to cause pain. The second support parts 10A and 10B adjacent to the first support part 11 are symmetrical and rectangular with a smaller area than the third support parts 9A and 9B.
[0021] An embodiment of the seat 2 will be described with reference to Figures 16 and 17. Figure 16 is a right side view of the seat 2 according to an embodiment of the present invention, with only the third support folded. A left side view of the seat 2 is omitted because it is symmetrical. Figure 17 is a bottom view of the seat 2 according to the present invention, with only the third support folded. As shown in Figures 16 and 17, the seat 2 according to this embodiment has a two-dimensional trapezoidal seat surface, characterized in that the front side of the seat surface is shorter than the rear side. The seat surface configuration of the seat 2 includes a second support 10A, a second support 10B, a first support 11, a hinge 22, screw holes 23 threaded into the backsides of the five support parts 13 (9A, 9B, 10A, 10B, 11), a hand screw 24, and a reinforcing member 27 for the support column 4. Only the third support portion 9A and the third support plate 9B are folded downward along the first folding line 20. The seat portion 2 has a means for releasably fixing the seat shape of the second support portion 10A, the second support portion 10B, and the first support portion 11 by threading hand screws 24 into the screw holes 23 formed in the front plate 14 and the rear plate 15 on the underside of the seat. The seat portion 2 is preferably used with the support posts of the chair body at a slightly lower height, making it suitable for use in a forward-leaning position with the user's center of gravity positioned forward, optimizing for parts assembly and machining work. Since a concentrated posture can be easily achieved, work efficiency can be expected. The seat portion 2 is characterized by the positioning of both legs slightly rearward of the center of gravity, making it easy to maintain balance and stand up when leaving the work chair 7.
[0022] An embodiment of the seat 3 for use with a flat seat surface will be described with reference to Figures 18, 19, 20, and 21. Figure 18 is a front view of the seat 3 according to an embodiment of the present invention in an unfolded state. Figure 19 is a top view of the seat 3 according to the present invention in an unfolded state. Figure 20 is a right side view of the seat 3 according to the present invention in an unfolded state. The right side view and the left side view are symmetrical. Figure 21 is a bottom view of the seat 3 according to the present invention in an unfolded state. As shown in Figures 18, 19, 20, and 21, in this embodiment of the seat 3, the seat surface is a single two-dimensional rectangle, a rectangular plate 12 with an easy-to-seat seat surface. It can be used comfortably as a general seat where the user leans their body against the chair. It is characterized by rounded corners that are user-friendly. The seat surface configuration of the seat 3 includes a third support portion 9A, a third support portion 9B, a second support portion 10A, a second support portion 10B, a first support portion 11, a first guide 16 that holds the front panel 14 arranged on the back side of the five support portions 13 (9A, 9B, 10A, 10B, 11), a second guide 17 that holds the front panel 14, a first guide 18 that holds the rear panel 15, a second guide 19 that holds the rear panel 15, a hinge 22, screw holes 23 threaded into the back sides of the five support portions 13 (9A, 9B, 10A, 10B, 11), a hand screw 24, a first reinforcing member 25, a second reinforcing member 26, and a reinforcing member 27 for the support column 4. The first reinforcing member 25 and the second reinforcing member 26 are components that are only required when the seat 3 is in use.
[0023] The seat 3 is intended for use without folding the seat surface. The seat surface shape of the seat 3 is secured by a first reinforcing member 25 and a second reinforcing member 26, which are provided on the underside of the seat surface, sandwiched between a first guide 16 that holds the front panel 14 and a second guide 17 that holds the front panel 14, and between a first guide 18 that holds the rear panel 15 and a second guide 19 that holds the rear panel 15. The five support members 13 (9A, 9B, 10A, 10B, 11) are provided with a releasable fastening means for fastening the seat surface by threading hand screws 24 into screw holes 23 threaded into the undersides of the five support members 13. To ensure that the seat surface of the seat 3 is secured in a secure manner, it is desirable for safety reasons to secure the seat surface by threading hand screws 24 into screw holes 23 threaded into the front panel 14 and the rear panel 15, similar to the fastening means of the seat 2. When the seat 3 is not folded, it is rectangular like a cushion, allowing it to be sat on in any direction. The task chair 8 equipped with the seat 3 is an embodiment used as a seat, and is suitable for use by any gender or age of user. When the seat 3 is not folded, it is desirable that each side has a length of 200mm to 500mm. While there are differences in the physique of users, and portability is a priority, the size of the seat tends to be at odds with comfort, but as long as the functionality of the seat is not compromised, the shape and size are not limited to this.
[0024] The variety of embodiments of the seat portion 1 will be described with reference to Figures 22, 23, and 24. Figure 22 is a reference left front perspective view of a task chair 6 showing a state in which a first support portion 11 of a seat portion 28 according to an embodiment of the present invention has two support plates 30, 31. Figure 23 is a reference left front perspective view of a seat portion 29 showing a state in which the first support portion 11 and the second support portions 10A, 10B of the present invention have two support plates 30, 31, 32, 33, 34, and 35, respectively. Figure 24 is a reference left front perspective view of a seat portion 36 showing a state in which the first support portion 11, the second support portions 10A, 10B, and the third support portions 9A, 9B of the present invention have two support plates 30, 31, 32, 33, 34, 35, 37, 38, 39, and 40, respectively. As shown in Figures 22, 23, and 24, by dividing and increasing the number of support members constituting the seat, it is possible to form a more circular shape when viewed from the front. As shown in Figure 24, the support members constituting the support members are each composed of two support plates: first support plate 30 and second support plate 31 of first support portion 11; first support plate 32 and second support plate 33 of second support portion 10A; first support plate 34 and second support plate 35 of second support portion 10B; first support plate 37 and second support plate 38 of third support portion 9A; and first support plate 39 and second support plate 40 of third support portion 9B. For example, each support portion can be composed of three or more support plates. It is desirable for the outer periphery of the seat, which comes into contact with the human body, to have a more curved shape.
[0025] In an embodiment in which the seat 1 is deformed, the chair is suitable for standing work in an upright position. When the user straddles the chair, the seat 1 supports the user's weight, reducing lower back pain and fatigue caused by prolonged standing work by approximately one-third. In an embodiment in which the seat 2 is deformed, a posture achieved by a slightly lower support height of the chair body is suitable. For example, similar to sitting on a bicycle saddle, both legs are positioned slightly behind the user's center of gravity, making it easy to assume a reclined position. This is specialized for tasks that require both hands, making it easy to concentrate. In an embodiment in which the seat 3 is deformed, the chair has a simple flat seat and can be easily used as a seat. Task chairs 6, 7, and 8 are characterized by their ability to be used in a variety of ways. While sitting is a social issue, if standing work is difficult, sitting is an option, but socially accepted resistance to sitting during work discourages this. Furthermore, there are a certain number of tasks that can only be performed by maintaining an upright posture. Task chairs 6, 7, and 8 feature transformable seats, allowing users to choose how they are used. While straddling a chair while standing can potentially provoke feelings of embarrassment and skepticism among women, these chairs allow users to choose how they want to use the chair. For example, if multiple chairs are used, they can be used as both a chair and a simple table for eating. Depending on the ingenuity, this versatile chair can be used for a wide range of purposes, from personal use to professional activities, contributing to society at large. Task chairs 6, 7, and 8 feature foldable seats 1, 2, and 3, and removable support posts 4 and legs 5 for easy portability. The seats 1, 2, and 3 are equipped with a releasable fastening mechanism that engages support posts 4 with support holes 41 provided in the reinforcement members 27 of the support posts 4 on the undersides of the seats 1, 2, and 3. To transform the seat shape, the seats 1, 2, and 3 are removed from the support posts 4 and then securely fastened in place according to the desired usage. The work chair 6, work chair seat 7, and work chair seat 8 are designed to be small and lightweight, and can comfortably support the weight of a user without specifying the user's usage style.
