Abstract
Description
[Technical Field]
[0001] The present invention relates to a liquid detergent article in which a liquid detergent composition is sealed in a container made of a water-soluble film. [Background technology]
[0002] Various liquid laundry detergent compositions have been proposed. For example, Patent Document 1 discloses a liquid laundry detergent composition containing an alkali metal carbonate or alkali metal hydrogencarbonate and an inorganic silicon compound in addition to a surfactant. Carbonates such as alkali metal carbonates are known as components that improve detergency.
[0003] On the other hand, a liquid detergent article (so-called liquid tablet detergent) in which a liquid detergent composition is sealed in a container made of a water-soluble film is known (Patent Document 2). Liquid tablet detergents save users the trouble of measuring out the liquid detergent composition and eliminate the risk of spilling the liquid detergent composition during the measuring process, and are therefore attracting attention as liquid detergent products that are highly convenient for cleaning textile products such as clothing. [0004] [Patent Document 1] Japanese Patent Application Laid-Open No. 2007-169439 [Patent Document 2] Special Publication No. 2008-518861 Summary of the Invention [Problem to be solved by the invention]
[0005] The present inventors investigated the incorporation of carbonate into a liquid detergent composition enclosed in a water-soluble film container in order to enhance the detergency of a convenient liquid tablet detergent. However, when the present inventors formed a liquid detergent composition containing sodium carbonate into tablets and stored them, they found that the water-soluble film became brittle, causing minute cracks on the surface, making the tablets cloudy and rough. Therefore, an object of the present invention is to provide a liquid detergent article that has excellent cleaning power, while suppressing embrittlement of the water-soluble film container over time and maintaining a good feel and appearance. [Means for solving the problem]
[0006] In order to achieve the above object, the present invention employs the following configuration. [1] A liquid detergent article in which a liquid detergent composition is enclosed in a container made of a water-soluble film, The liquid detergent composition contains the following component (A), the following component (B), and component (C) which is one or more selected from the following components (C1), (C2), and (C3): A liquid detergent article, wherein the content of the following component (B) is 0.1 to 5 mass % relative to the total mass of the liquid detergent composition: (A) Component: surfactant. (B) Ingredient: Carbonate. Component (C1): One or more selected from the group consisting of glycerin, (poly)alkylene glycol (mono- or di-)alkyl ethers consisting of a (poly)alkylene glycol unit having 2 to 4 carbon atoms and an alkanol having 1 to 5 carbon atoms, and alkyl glyceryl ethers having an alkyl having 1 to 8 carbon atoms. Component (C2): one or more selected from propylene glycol and 3-methoxy-3-methyl-1-butanol. (C3) Ingredient: Sorbitol. [Effects of the Invention]
[0007] The liquid detergent article of the present invention has excellent detergency, while suppressing embrittlement of the water-soluble film container over time, and can maintain a good feel and appearance. DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION
[0008] The liquid detergent article of the present invention is a liquid detergent composition enclosed in a container made of a water-soluble film. In this specification and claims, water solubility means that a 30 mm square water-soluble film test piece is placed in 300 mL of water at 25°C and stirred, and completely dissolves within 120 seconds.
[0009] [Water-soluble film] Examples of resins constituting the water-soluble film that constitutes the container include polyvinyl alcohol, polyvinylpyrrolidone, polyalkylene oxide, acrylamide, acrylic acid, cellulose, cellulose ether, cellulose ester, cellulose amide, polyvinyl acetate, polycarboxylic acid or its salt, polyamino acid or peptide, polyamide, polyacrylamide, copolymer of maleic acid and acrylic acid, polysaccharides including starch and gelatin, natural rubbers such as xanthan or carrageenan, etc. Among these materials, polyvinyl alcohol is preferred.
[0010] The water-soluble film contains a plasticizer, which may be one or more of polyhydric alcohols such as glycerin, diglycerin, diethylene glycol, triethylene glycol, propylene glycol, dipropylene glycol, trimethylolpropane, pentaerythritol, or 1,3-butanediol, polyethers such as polyethylene glycol or polypropylene glycol, polyvinylamides such as polyvinylpyrrolidone, phenol derivatives such as bisphenol A or bisphenol S, amide compounds such as N-methylpyrrolidone or dimethylacetamide, compounds in which ethylene oxide is added to polyhydric alcohols such as glycerin, pentaerythritol, or sorbitol, or water.
[0011] For the purpose of improving water solubility, it is preferable to use glycerin, diglycerin, diethylene glycol, triethylene glycol, propylene glycol, dipropylene glycol, trimethylolpropane, polyethylene glycol, or polyvinylpyrrolidone, and in particular, from the viewpoint of the effect of suppressing a decrease in water solubility of the film due to bleed-out of the plasticizer, it is particularly preferable to use glycerin, diglycerin, trimethylolpropane, polyethylene glycol, or polyvinylpyrrolidone.
[0012] The content of the plasticizer contained in the water-soluble film is preferably 1 to 50 mass % relative to the mass of the polyvinyl alcohol, and more preferably 20 to 40 mass %. When the content of the plasticizer contained in the water-soluble film is within the above-mentioned preferred range, the container can be given appropriate flexibility.
[0013] The water-soluble film may contain additives such as inorganic fillers (e.g., silica, heavy, light or surface-treated calcium carbonate, aluminum hydroxide, aluminum oxide, titanium oxide, diatomaceous earth, barium sulfate, calcium sulfate, zeolite, zinc oxide, silicic acid, silicates, mica, magnesium carbonate, kaolin, clays such as halloysite, pyrophyllite and sericite, talc, etc.), colorants, fragrances, extenders, antifoaming agents, release agents, UV absorbers, surfactants, carboxymethylcellulose, polyacrylamide, polyacrylic acid or salts thereof, methylcellulose, hydroxymethylcellulose, and other water-soluble polymers, as needed.
[0014] Examples of commercially available water-soluble films include those sold by Monosol LLC (Merrillville, Indiana, USA) under the trade names Monosol M8310, M8312, M8775, M8630, M7061, and M8900.

As the component (A), one type of surfactant may be used, or two or more types may be used in combination. From the viewpoint of further enhancing detergency, the component (A) preferably contains a nonionic surfactant and an anionic surfactant. In addition to the nonionic surfactant and the anionic surfactant, one or more of a cationic surfactant, an amphoteric surfactant and a semi-polar surfactant may be used in combination.

[0046] Examples of the (poly)alkylene glycol (mono- or di-)alkyl ether (C1) component, which is composed of a (poly)alkylene glycol having an alkylene glycol unit having 2 to 4 carbon atoms and an alkanol having 1 to 5 carbon atoms, include diethylene glycol monomethyl ether, diethylene glycol dimethyl ether, triethylene glycol monomethyl ether, diethylene glycol monoethyl ether, diethylene glycol diethyl ether, dipropylene glycol monomethyl ether, dipropylene glycol monoethyl ether, tripropylene glycol monomethyl ether, diethylene glycol monobutyl ether, 1-methoxy-2-propanol, and 1-ethoxy-2-propanol.

[0048] The total content of component (C) is preferably 25 to 45 mass %, more preferably 30 to 42 mass %, and even more preferably 35 to 40 mass %, based on the total mass of the liquid detergent composition. When the total content of component (C) is equal to or greater than the above-mentioned preferable lower limit, embrittlement of the water-soluble film is suppressed, so that the liquid detergent package is less likely to break, and the solubility of the water-soluble film is also improved. On the other hand, if the water content exceeds the above-mentioned preferable upper limit, no corresponding effect of improving embrittlement is observed, which is economically disadvantageous. On the other hand, if the water content is equal to or less than the above-mentioned preferable upper limit, the softening of the water-soluble film container does not proceed too much, and the appearance and feel of the container are easily maintained.
[0049] The content of the component (C1) is preferably from 1 to 15 mass %, more preferably from 3 to 10 mass %, and even more preferably from 5 to 8 mass %, relative to the total mass of the liquid detergent composition. When the content of the component (C1) or the ratio of the component (C) to the total content of the component (C) is at least the above-mentioned preferable lower limit, embrittlement of the water-soluble film is suppressed. When the content of the component (C1) or the ratio of the component (C) to the total content is equal to or less than the above-mentioned preferable upper limit, the softening of the water-soluble film container does not proceed too much, and the appearance and feel are easily maintained.
[0050] The content of the component (C2) is preferably from 5 to 30 mass %, more preferably from 10 to 28 mass %, and even more preferably from 15 to 25 mass %, based on the total mass of the liquid detergent composition. [0089] [Manufacturing method] The liquid detergent article is manufactured, for example, as follows using a mold having a plurality of recesses each having a rectangular shape in plan view. A water-soluble film is placed so as to cover the opening of the recess. The pressure inside the recess is reduced, and the water-soluble film is drawn into the recess to form a storage section with an open top. The size of one storage section is about 20 to 30 mL. Next, the liquid detergent composition is filled into the storage section. After that, another wetted water-soluble film is placed to close and seal the opening of the storage section. Then, by cutting out the film individually, a liquid detergent package in which the liquid detergent composition is filled in a container made of a water-soluble film can be obtained.
[0090] The liquid detergent composition can be produced according to a conventional method for producing a liquid detergent composition, for example, by adding and mixing each component except for the pH adjuster to a portion of water, adding the pH adjuster as needed to adjust the pH, and then adding the remainder of the water to make the total amount 100% by mass.
[0091] [How to use] When the liquid detergent article of the present invention is used as a laundry detergent, it is not necessary to measure out detergent as in the past, and it is sufficient to simply add one liquid detergent article to the washing machine tub, making it simple and convenient. Water: Purified water, manufactured by Kanto Chemical Co., Ltd.
[0110] [Examples 1 to 21, Comparative Examples 1 to 3] <Preparation of Cleaning Composition> A portion of the water and all of the other ingredients were added to a 500 mL beaker in accordance with the blending amounts in Tables 1 to 4, and the mixture was thoroughly stirred with a magnetic stirrer (manufactured by MITAMURA KOGYO INC.). Next, an appropriate amount of monoethanolamine was added so that the pH at 25°C was 7.0, followed by the addition of sodium carbonate. Without further pH adjustment, water was added to make the total amount 100% by mass, thereby obtaining a liquid detergent composition.
[0111] <Production of liquid detergent article 1> Two 55 mm x 90 mm pieces of the water-soluble film raw rolls shown in Tables 1 to 4 were prepared, and these were overlapped and heat-sealed on three sides to form a bag-shaped storage section. Next, 30 g of the liquid detergent composition of each example was filled into the storage section from the last unsealed side, and then the last side was sealed to obtain liquid detergent article 1.
[0112] <Production of Liquid Detergent Article 2> The mold used had a plurality of rectangular recesses (45 mm long, 45 mm wide, and 12 mm deep) formed in it when viewed from above. A water-soluble film raw sheet shown in Tables 1 to 4 was placed to cover the opening of the recess in the mold, the pressure inside the recess was reduced, and the water-soluble film was drawn into the recess to form a storage section with an open top. Next, 20 g of each liquid detergent composition was filled into the container, and then another wet water-soluble film was placed to cover and seal the opening of the container. Thereafter, the liquid detergent article 2 of each example, in which the liquid detergent composition was filled in a container made of a water-soluble film, was obtained by cutting it out individually.
[0113] [evaluation] <Cleaning power evaluation> A fully automatic washing machine (manufactured by Toshiba, product name: AW-8V2(W)) was charged with 60 L of tap water at 15°C. Liquid detergent article 2 (20 g) from each example was added, along with six undershirts (manufactured by BVD) each made by sewing five pieces of artificially soiled fabric together, and the undershirts were added so that the bath ratio was 15:1. The undershirts with the soiled fabrics sewn onto them were positioned at the bottom, lower, middle, and upper parts of the washing machine. The items were washed once using the fully automatic washing machine's standard course, which consisted of a 10-minute wash, one rinse, and a 3-minute spin cycle, followed by air drying.
[0114] The artificially soiled cloth was measured before and after cleaning using a color difference meter (product name: SE200 model) manufactured by Nippon Denshoku Co., Ltd., and the cleaning rate (%) was calculated using the following formula. The average of 30 pieces (5 x 6) was taken as the average cleaning rate (%). Cleaning rate (%) = (K / S of dirty cloth - K / S of cleaned cloth) / (K / S of soiled cloth - K / S of unsoiled cloth) x 100
[0115] In the above formula, "soiled cloth" refers to each of the soiled cloths mentioned above before cleaning, "cleaned cloth" refers to the soiled cloth after cleaning, and "unsoiled cloth" refers to the original white cloth (raw cloth) with no soil attached. K represents the absorption coefficient, and S represents the scattering coefficient. The cleaning power for each stain was evaluated based on the average cleaning rate (%) according to the following evaluation criteria, and a rating of ⊚ or ◯ was considered to be acceptable. The evaluation results for each example are shown in Tables 1 to 4.
[0116] Evaluation Criteria ◎: Average cleaning rate of 60% or more. ○: Average cleaning rate is 55% or more but less than 60%. △: Average cleaning rate is 50% or more but less than 55%. ×: Average cleaning rate less than 50%.
[0117] <Evaluation of film texture (embrittlement)> The liquid detergent article 2 of each example was stored for one month under conditions of 40°C and 20% RH, and then its appearance and feel were evaluated by 10 panelists according to the following rating criteria. The feel (embrittlement) was evaluated based on the average score of the 10 panelists according to the following rating criteria, and a score of ○ or △ was considered to be acceptable. The evaluation results for each example are shown in Tables 1 to 4.
[0118] Scoring criteria 1 point: Appears cloudy and feels rough to the touch, or looks thin and feels soft and brittle to the touch. 2 points: There is no cloudiness in appearance, but it feels a little rough when touched. 3 points: It appears cloudy on the outside, but does not feel rough to the touch.
[0119] Evaluation Criteria 〇: The average score is 2.5 points or more. △: The average score is between 2.0 and 2.5 points. ×: The average score is less than 2.0 points.
[0120] <Appearance evaluation of liquid detergent products> Each liquid detergent article 2 was stored at 40°C and 20% RH for one month, after which a panel member evaluated the appearance of the contents of the article according to the following criteria. A score of ○ was considered to be acceptable. The evaluation results for each example are shown in Tables 1 to 4.
[0121] Evaluation Criteria 〇: No cloudiness in appearance. ×: Cloudy appearance is observed.
[0122] [Table 1]
[0123] [Table 2]
[0124] [Table 3]
[0125] [Table 4]
[0126] As shown in Tables 1 to 3, good detergency was obtained in all of Examples 1 to 21. In addition, the appearance and feel after storage were also good. In contrast, Comparative Example 1, which did not contain component (B), had poor cleaning power, as shown in Table 4. Furthermore, Comparative Example 2, which contained an excessive amount of component (B), had poor appearance and feel after storage.
