AI Technical Summary

Technical Problem

Hybrid vehicles discharge gases containing volatilized fuel during internal combustion engine motoring, which is not effectively managed by existing technologies.

Method used

A hybrid vehicle system that includes a motor to drive the internal combustion engine, a torque converter, an oil pump, and a control unit to manage fuel pressure, throttle valve, and heating catalyst to suppress the discharge of volatilized fuel by reducing fuel pressure, throttle opening, and enhancing catalyst heating.

Benefits of technology

Reduces emissions of gases containing volatile fuels by controlling fuel pressure, throttle opening, and catalyst heating, thereby minimizing the discharge of volatile fuels.

Abstract

To provide a hybrid vehicle capable of reducing emissions of a gas containing volatile fuel.SOLUTION: A hybrid vehicle comprises: an internal combustion engine to which fuel is supplied through a fuel injection valve; a motor capable of performing motoring of the internal combustion engine; a torque converter arranged in a drive force transmission path from the internal combustion engine; an oil pump which supplies oil to the torque converter by being driven with the motoring; and a control section which performs control to suppress emissions of a gas containing volatile fuel out of the hybrid vehicle when the motor performs the motoring.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3
