Abstract

The present invention provides a bone punch tool and method for forming a bone tunnel in a target bone. The bone punch tool is configured to remove a bone plug from the target bone. Removal of the bone plug allows for the formation of a bone tunnel in the target bone. The bone punch tool comprises an impact handle and a punch head having a bore. The punch head has a cutting end with cutting blades disposed around the bore. The bone punch tool can be used to retrieve the bone plug without leaving any bone drilling debris. Furthermore, the bone plug can be retrieved as a solid graft and used as a graft in another body location to promote healing and reduce post-operative recovery time.
