AI Technical Summary

Technical Problem

Existing capsule sealing machines apply uniform adhesive and airtight seals around the entire circumference of the can rim, leading to easy separation of the cover capsule from the can when users apply excessive force, risking contamination and recyclability issues.

Method used

A sealing head with elastic means of varying stiffness is used, providing stronger adhesion away from the can opening and weaker adhesion near it, ensuring the capsule remains attached during use.

Benefits of technology

The solution prevents accidental separation of the cover capsule from the can, enhancing recyclability and reducing environmental contamination risks while allowing easy access to the can's contents.

Abstract

To achieve sealing of a capsule having weaker adhesion in remaining area(s) of a can edge part where an opening of a can is located.SOLUTION: The invention relates to: a capsule sealing machine having a cover capsule or an improved type of sealing head for applying the cover capsule to a top surface of a can; the related improved sealing head; and the can comprising the cover capsule. In order to apply the cover capsule to a surface of a capsule-sealed can, the sealing head includes: elastic means having different rigidities when coupled to a circular sealing sector; elastic means having higher rigidity when coupled to a circular sealing sector arranged corresponding to a distal point (D) to an edge part of the can adjacent to an opening of the can; and elastic means having lower rigidity when coupled to a circular sealing sector arranged at a proximal point (P) to a can edge part adjacent to the opening.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
