AI Technical Summary
Conventional sliders retrofitted with handles are prone to falling off due to interference and external loads, as the closing member is not securely attached to the handle holder.
The slider design includes a closing member with a base positioned inside the pull holder's through hole, between side walls, and leg portions extending from the base to fit into the shaft holding space, providing internal support and resistance to external interference.
This configuration securely attaches the handle and prevents it from falling off, even under load, by ensuring the closing member is less susceptible to interference and better supported by the handle holder.

Abstract
Description
slider
[0001] The present invention relates to a slider used to open and close a slide fastener.
[0002] Conventionally, sliders that can be retrofitted with pull tabs have been known as sliders used to open and close slide fasteners. For example, the slider disclosed in Patent Document 1 includes a slider body that guides the elements of the slide fastener in the front-rear direction, a pull tab holder that forms a holding space between the slider body and the slider body, and a closure member that fits into an insertion gap formed in the pull tab holder. With this slider, the pull tab is attached by inserting the shank of the pull tab into the insertion gap of the pull tab holder and accommodating the shank in the shank holding space, and then fitting the closure member into the insertion gap.
[0003] International Publication No. 2014 / 073111
[0004] However, in the slider disclosed in Patent Document 1, the closure member is attached to the pull-tab holder from the outside (i.e., the side opposite the shaft-holding space), so there is a possibility that the closure member may fall off the pull-tab holder due to a load applied from the shaft of the pull tab or interference from the outside. As a result, there is a problem that the pull tab may fall off the slider.
[0005] An object of the present invention is to provide a slider that allows a pull tab to be attached later and that can prevent the pull tab from falling off.
[0006] A slider according to a first aspect of the present invention comprises a slider body that guides an element in a front-rear direction, a pull tab holder that is provided on one side of the slider body in a vertical direction perpendicular to the front-rear direction and that holds a shaft portion of a pull tab, and a closure member attached to the pull tab holder, wherein the pull tab holder has a first end that extends from the slider body along the vertical direction, a main body that extends from the first end along the front-rear direction and forms a shaft holding space between the slider body and the main body in which the shaft portion is disposed, and a closure member that is attached to the main body. and a second end portion facing the slider body on the opposite side from the first end portion and forming an insertion gap between the slider body and the main body portion, into which the shaft portion can be inserted. The main body portion has a through hole penetrating the main body portion in the vertical direction, and a pair of side wall portions facing each other via the through hole in the left-right direction perpendicular to each of the front-to-rear direction and the up-to-down direction. The closing member has a base portion arranged between the pair of side wall portions, and a first leg portion extending from the base and fitting into the insertion gap from the shaft retaining space side.
[0007] In this configuration, the pull tab can be attached by inserting the shaft of the pull tab into the insertion gap of the pull tab holder, accommodating the shaft in the shaft holding space, and then attaching the closure member to the pull tab holder. Here, the base of the closure member is positioned inside the through-hole in the pull tab holder, i.e., between the pair of sidewalls, and the first leg of the closure member extends from the base and can fit into the insertion gap from the shaft holding space side. This makes the closure member less susceptible to external interference and less likely to fall off the pull tab holder. This makes it possible to provide a slider that allows for the retrofitting of a pull tab and prevents the pull tab from falling off.
[0008] In the first aspect of the present invention, it is preferable that each of the pair of side walls abuts against the base in the left-right direction. With this configuration, it is possible to prevent the base from slipping out of the through hole, thereby more preferably preventing the closure member from falling off.
[0009] In the first aspect of the present invention, the pull-tab holder preferably has a pair of front-to-rear opposing surfaces that face each other across the through-hole in the front-to-rear direction, and each of the pair of front-to-rear opposing surfaces abuts against the closure member in the front-to-rear direction. This configuration can prevent the base from slipping out of the through-hole. Furthermore, when the closure member receives a load from the pull shaft that includes a front-to-rear component, the pull-tab holder can support the closure member via the front-to-rear opposing surfaces. This more effectively prevents the closure member from falling off.
[0010] In the first aspect of the present invention, it is preferable that one of the pair of front and rear opposing surfaces is formed from the main body to the second end and abuts against the base and the first leg, respectively. In this configuration, when the closure member receives a load including a front-rear component from the pull shaft of the pull, the pull holder can more effectively support the closure member via one of the front and rear opposing surfaces.
[0011] In the first aspect of the present invention, it is preferable that the first end portion has a mating portion that opens toward the shaft-retaining space, and the closing member further includes a second leg portion that extends from the base and mated with the mating portion from the shaft-retaining space side. In this configuration, the first leg portion can be mated with the insertion gap from the shaft-retaining space side, and the second leg portion can be mated with the mating portion from the shaft-retaining space side. This more effectively prevents the closing member from falling off.
[0012] A slider according to a second aspect of the present invention comprises a slider body that guides an element in a front-rear direction, a pull tab holder that is provided on one side of the slider body in a vertical direction perpendicular to the front-rear direction and that holds a shaft portion of a pull tab, and a closing member that is attached to the pull tab holder, wherein the pull tab holder comprises a main body that extends along the front-rear direction and forms a shaft holding space between the main body and the pull tab holder and in which the shaft portion is disposed, a first end that extends along the vertical direction from one side of the main body in the front-rear direction and is connected to the slider body, and in which a first fitted portion that opens to the shaft holding space side is formed, and a second end that extends along the vertical direction from the other side of the main body in the front-rear direction and forms a front and a second end portion which is connected to the slider body and has a second fitted portion formed thereon that opens toward the shaft retaining space, the main body portion having a through hole penetrating the main body portion in the up-down direction, a pair of side wall portions which face each other via the through hole in left-right directions perpendicular to the front-to-back direction and the up-to-down direction, and a slit which divides each of the pair of side wall portions into a front portion and a rear portion in the front-to-back direction and which has an insertion gap into which the shaft portion can be inserted, and the closing member has a base portion arranged between the pair of side wall portions, and a pair of legs which extend from the base and fit into each of the first fitted portion and the second fitted portion from the shaft retaining space side.
[0013] In this configuration, the pull tab can be attached by inserting the shaft portion of the pull tab into the insertion gap of the pull tab holder, accommodating the shaft portion in the shaft holding space, and then attaching the closure member to the pull tab holder. Here, the base of the closure member closes the insertion gap by being positioned inside the through-hole of the pull tab holder, i.e., between the pair of sidewalls, and the pair of legs of the closure member extend from the base and can be fitted into the first and second fitting portions from the shaft holding space side. This makes the closure member less susceptible to external interference and less likely to fall off the pull tab holder. This makes it possible to provide a slider that allows for the retrofitting of a pull tab and prevents the pull tab from falling off.

[0015] A first embodiment of the present invention will be described below with reference to Figures 1 to 5. A slider 1 according to this embodiment guides a pair of elements (not shown) of a slide fastener in a guide direction, thereby fitting or separating the pair of elements. As shown in Figure 1, this slider 1 comprises a slider body 2, a pull tab holder 3 erected on the slider body 2, and a closure member 4 attached to the pull tab holder 3.
[0016] As shown in Fig. 5, a pull tab 5 that can operate the slider 1 is attached to the slider 1. The pull tab 5 includes a pull tab body 51 that is gripped by the user and a shaft portion 52 formed at the end of the pull tab body 51.
[0017] The configuration of the slider 1 will be described with reference to Figures 1 to 3. In the following description, the direction in which the slider 1 guides the element is referred to as the X direction (front-to-back direction), the direction perpendicular to the X direction is referred to as the Y direction (left-to-right direction), and the direction perpendicular to the X and Y directions is referred to as the Z direction (up-down direction, thickness direction of the slider body 2).
[0018] The slider body 2 is configured to guide a pair of element rows of the slide fastener in the X direction. Specifically, the slider body 2 includes an upper blade 21 and a lower blade 22 arranged opposite each other in the Z direction, and a guide post 23 connecting the upper blade 21 and the lower blade 22. A guide path 24 is formed between the upper blade 21 and the lower blade 22, through which the pair of element rows of the slide fastener are inserted so as to be able to engage and separate. The upper blade 21 is provided with a pair of flanges 211A, 211B facing each other across the guide path 24. Since the slider body 2 can have a similar configuration to a conventional slider body, a detailed description thereof will be omitted here. A groove 212 is formed in the upper surface 210 of the upper blade 21 along the X direction, into which a closure member 4 (described later) is inserted. In addition, the slider body 2 in this embodiment constitutes a slider main body 10 integrally molded with the pull tab holder 3. The slider body 10 is preferably a die-cast part, but may also be a molded part made of synthetic resin or the like.
[0019] The pull tab holder 3 is erected on the upper wing plate 21 of the slider body 2, and forms a shaft holding space S between the upper wing plate 21 and the pull tab holder 3, in which the shaft 52 of the pull tab 5 is disposed. The shaft holding space S is a space formed between the pull tab holder 3 and the slider body 2, and the shaft 52 is rotatable within the shaft holding space S around an axis disposed along the Y direction. In this embodiment, the pull tab holder 3 includes a first end 31, a second end 32, and a main body 33 extending between the first end 31 and the second end 32, and is configured in a cantilever shape as a whole.
[0020] The first end 31 is a fixed end connected to the end of the upper blade 21 in the +X direction (e.g., the front end of the upper blade 21) and extends in the +Z direction from the upper blade 21 on the +X side of the shaft-retaining space S. This first end 31 is formed with a groove 311 that opens toward the shaft-retaining space S (i.e., in the -X direction) and communicates with a through-hole 33S (described below) in the main body 33. A mated portion 31E is formed in the groove 311 of the first end 31, opening into the shaft-retaining space S via the groove 311 (see FIG. 3). The mated portion 31E may be a recess that opens into the shaft-retaining space S, or a hole that opens into the shaft-retaining space S.
[0021] The second end 32 extends in the -Z direction from the -X direction end of the main body 33 on the -X direction side relative to the shaft retaining space S. Specifically, in this embodiment, the second end 32 is a free end that faces the slider body 2 on the opposite side of the main body 33 from the first end 31 side, and forms an insertion gap G with the -X direction end of the upper blade 21 (for example, the rear end of the upper blade 21). The insertion gap G is a gap that allows the shaft 52 to be inserted all the way to the shaft retaining space S. Furthermore, the Y direction dimension of the second end 32 is smaller than the Y direction dimension of the main body 33 and is equal to the Y direction dimension of a through hole 33S (described later) formed in the main body 33.
[0022] The main body 33 extends in the X direction between the first end 31 and the second end 32. In this embodiment, the main body 33 connects the first end 31 and the second end 32. A through hole 33S is formed in the main body 33, penetrating the main body 33 in the Z direction (see FIG. 1 ). The through hole 33S has a cross-sectional shape that extends in the X direction while having a constant dimension in the Y direction. As a result, the main body 33 has a pair of side wall portions 34A, 34B that face each other in the Y direction across the through hole 33S. The side wall portions 34A, 34B abut in the Y direction against a base 40 of the closure member 4, which will be described later.
[0023] The pull tab holder 3 also has a front side surface 35 and a rear side surface 36 that face each other in the X direction via the through hole 33S (corresponding to a pair of front and rear facing surfaces according to the present invention). The front side surface 35 is formed from the main body portion 33 to the first end portion 31 and forms part of the bottom of the groove portion 311 of the first end portion 31. The front side surface 35 is also inclined relative to the Z direction so that it is positioned in the +X direction as it approaches the +Z direction. The rear side surface 36 is formed from the main body portion 33 to the second end portion 32. The front side surface 35 abuts against a second leg portion 42 of the closure member 4 (described later), and the rear side surface 36 abuts against a base portion 40 and a first leg portion 41 of the closure member 4 (described later).
[0024] The closure member 4 is preferably a molded product made of, for example, synthetic resin, and is preferably integrally formed from a flexible material. As shown in Fig. 1, the closure member 4 includes a base 40 and a first leg 41 and a second leg 42 extending from the base 40. When the closure member 4 is attached to the pull-tab holder 3, it forms a shaft holding space S together with the pull-tab holder 3. The closure member 4 attached to the pull-tab holder 3 will be described below.
[0025] The base 40 is disposed within the through-hole 33S of the pull-tab holder 3, i.e., between the pair of side walls 34A, 34B. The base 40 abuts against the pair of side walls 34A, 34B in the Y direction and against the rear side surface 36 in the X direction. A semicircular groove 401 is formed along the Y direction at the end of the base 40 facing in the +X direction. The portion of the base 40 where the groove 401 is formed forms an elastically deformable flexible portion 402. The closure member 4 deforms so that the tips of the first leg 41 and the second leg 42 approach each other, mainly due to elastic deformation of the flexible portion 402.
[0026] The first leg 41 has a leg main body 411 that extends in the -Z direction from the -X direction end of the base 40, and a fitting portion 412 that protrudes in the -X direction from the tip of the leg main body 411. The leg main body 411 extends along the second end 32 of the pull tab holder 3 and abuts against the rear side surface 36 together with the base 40. The fitting portion 412 engages with the second end 32 by fitting into the insertion gap G.
[0027] 3, a sloped surface 413 is formed on the portion of the first leg 41 facing the shaft holding space S. The sloped surface 413 is inclined relative to the Z direction so that the sloped surface is positioned in the −X direction as it approaches the +Z direction. A semicircular recess 414 is formed between the sloped surface 413 and the base 40, in which the shaft 52 can be placed.
[0028] The second leg 42 has a leg main body 421 that extends in the +X and −Z directions from the +X-direction end of the base 40, and a fitting portion 422 that protrudes in the +X direction from the tip of the leg main body 421. The leg main body 421 extends along the first end 31 while abutting against the front side surface 35, and is inserted into the groove 311. The fitting portion 422 engages with the first end 31 by fitting into the fitted portion 31E.
[0029] The first leg 41 and the second leg 42 are configured so as to be able to pass through the through-hole 33S when the closure member 4 is attached to the pull-tab holder 3. Specifically, the Y-direction dimension of each of the first leg 41 and the second leg 42 is equal to or less than the gap between the pair of side wall portions 34A, 34B, i.e., the Y-direction dimension of the through-hole 33S.
[0030] The method of attaching the pull tab 5 to the slider 1 will now be described. First, the worker prepares the slider body 10 before the closure member 4 is attached, and inserts the shaft portion 52 of the pull tab 5 into the insertion gap G of the pull tab holder 3. As a result, the shaft portion 52 is accommodated in the shaft holding space S.
[0031] Next, as shown in FIG. 4 , the worker attaches the closure member 4 to the pull-tab holder 3 of the slider body 10. Specifically, the first leg 41 and the second leg 42 of the closure member 4 are inserted into the through-hole 33S of the pull-tab holder 3, the mating portion 412 of the first leg 41 is aligned with the insertion gap G, and then the base 40 is pushed into the through-hole 33S. At this time, the flexible portion 402 of the closure member 4 elastically deforms, and the second leg 42 is guided by the front side surface 35 and moves in the −Z direction. When the second leg 42 moves over the front side surface 35, the flexible portion 402 returns to its original shape, and the mating portion 422 of the second leg 42 mats with the mated portion 31E from the shaft-retaining space S side. Furthermore, the mating portion 412 of the first leg 41 mats with the insertion gap G from the shaft-retaining space S side.
[0032] After the closure member 4 is attached, the slider 1 can hold the pull tab 5 in the shaft holding space S, as shown in FIG. 5 . If the slider 1 is slid in the +X direction, the shaft 52 of the pull tab 5 moves to a forward position P1 within the shaft holding space S, and a load in a predetermined direction including a +X component is applied to the slider 1. Here, the predetermined direction including the +X component refers to a direction obtained by rotating the slider 1 from the +X direction (e.g., arrow A1 in FIG. 5 ) toward the +Z direction by a predetermined angle θ1 (e.g., 0° to 45°) around the forward position P1 from the reference direction (e.g., arrow A2 in FIG. 5 ). In this case, the slider 1 can receive the load applied from the shaft 52 at the pull tab holder 3 (specifically, the first end 31 or the pair of side walls 34A, 34B).
[0033] When the slider 1 is slid in the −X direction, the shaft 52 of the pull tab 5 is guided by the inclined surface 413 and moves to the rear position P2 within the recess 414 of the closure member 4, applying a load to the slider 1 in a predetermined direction including a −X direction component. Here, the “predetermined direction including the −X direction component” refers to a direction obtained by rotating the slider 1 from the −X direction as a reference direction (see, for example, arrow A3 in FIG. 5 ) toward the +Z direction by a predetermined angle θ2 (e.g., 0° to 45°) around the rear position P2 (see, for example, arrow A4 in FIG. 5 ). In this case, the slider 1 can receive the load applied from the shaft 52 at the pull tab holder 3 (specifically, the second end 32 or the pair of side walls 34A, 34B) via the closure member 4.
[0034] Furthermore, in this embodiment, the pull tab 5 can be removed from the slider 1. To remove the pull tab 5 from the slider 1, any jig can be inserted into the insertion gap G to push the fitting portion 412 of the first leg portion 41 into the shaft holding space S. This causes the closure member 4 to elastically deform, and a portion of the base 40 is pushed out of the pull tab holder 3 through the through hole 33S. An operator can then grasp the portion of the base 40 pushed out of the through hole 33S and remove the closure member 4 from the through hole 33S. The operator can then remove the pull tab 5 from the pull tab holder 3 through the insertion gap G. Alternatively, the pull tab 5 can be replaced by installing a new pull tab 5.
[0035] The effects of the first embodiment are described below. As described above, the slider 1 of this embodiment allows the pull tab 5 to be attached by inserting the shaft 52 of the pull tab 5 into the insertion gap G of the pull tab holder 3, accommodating the shaft 52 in the shaft holding space S, and then attaching the closure member 4 to the pull tab holder 3. The base 40 of the closure member 4 is disposed inside the through-hole 33S of the pull tab holder 3, i.e., between the pair of side walls 34A and 34B. The first leg 41 of the closure member 4 extends from the base 40 and fits into the insertion gap G from the shaft holding space S side, thereby closing the insertion gap G. This makes the closure member 4 less susceptible to external interference and less likely to fall off the pull tab holder 3. This provides a slider 1 that allows the pull tab 5 to be retrofitted and prevents the pull tab 5 from falling off. Furthermore, the pair of side walls 34A and 34B can also support a load applied to the pull tab 5 in the Y direction.
[0036] In the present embodiment, each of the pair of side walls 34A, 34B abuts against the base 40 in the Y direction. This configuration can prevent the base 40 from slipping out of the through hole 33S. This can more effectively prevent the closure member 4 from falling off.
[0037] In this embodiment, the pull-tab holder 3 has a front side surface 35 and a rear side surface 36 (a pair of front and rear opposing surfaces according to the present invention) that face each other in the X direction via the through-hole 33S, and each of the front side surface 35 and the rear side surface 36 abuts against the closure member 4 in the X direction. This configuration can prevent the base 40 from slipping out of the through-hole 33S. Furthermore, when the closure member 4 receives a load that includes an X-direction component from the shaft portion 52 of the pull tab 5, the pull-tab holder 3 can support the closure member 4 via the front side surface 35 or the rear side surface 36. This more effectively prevents the closure member 4 from falling off.
[0038] In this embodiment, the rear side surface 36 is formed from the main body 33 to the second end 32 and abuts against the base 40 and the first leg 41. In this configuration, when the closure member 4 receives a load from the shaft 52 of the pull tab 5 that includes a component in the X direction, the pull tab holder 3 can more effectively support the closure member 4 via the rear side surface 36.
[0039] In this embodiment, the first end 31 is formed with a fitted portion 31E that opens toward the shaft holding space S, and the closing member 4 preferably further includes a second leg 42 that extends from the base 40 and fits into the fitted portion 31E from the shaft holding space S side. In this configuration, the first leg 41 can be fitted into the insertion gap G from the shaft holding space S side, and the second leg 42 can be fitted into the fitted portion 31E from the shaft holding space S side. This more effectively prevents the closing member 4 from falling off.
[0040] Second Embodiment A second embodiment of the present invention will be described with reference to Fig. 6. The slider 1A of this embodiment differs from the first embodiment mainly in the position of the insertion gap G. In the following description, the same components as those in the first embodiment will be denoted by the same reference numerals, and their description will be omitted or simplified.
[0041] Similar to the first embodiment, the slider 1A according to the second embodiment includes a slider body 2, a pull-tab holder 3A that forms a shaft-retaining space S between the slider body 2 and the pull-tab holder 3A and in which the shaft 52 of the pull tab 5 is disposed, and a closure member 4 attached to the pull-tab holder 3A. The pull-tab holder 3A includes a main body 33A that extends along the X direction and forms the shaft-retaining space S between the slider body 2, a first end 31 that extends along the Z direction from the +X side of the main body 33A and is connected to the slider body 2, and has a first fitted portion 31E that opens toward the shaft-retaining space S, and a second end 32A that extends along the Z direction from the -X side of the main body 33A and is connected to the slider body 2, and has a second fitted portion 32E that opens toward the shaft-retaining space S. Note that the second end 32A in this embodiment is a fixed end, not a free end. The second fitted portion 32E formed on the second end portion 32A may be a hole that opens into the shaft holding space S, or may be a recess that opens into the shaft holding space S.
[0042] Similar to the first embodiment, the main body 33A has a through hole 33S formed therein. The main body 33A has a pair of side walls 34A, 34B that face each other across the through hole 33S. The main body 33A also has an insertion gap G formed therein as a slit that overlaps the through hole 33S and divides each of the pair of side walls 34A, 34B into a front portion and a rear portion in the X direction. Note that, of the pair of side walls 34A, 34B, FIG. 6 illustrates a front portion 34Bf of the side wall 34B and a rear portion 34Br of the side wall 34B.
[0043] Similar to the first embodiment, the closing member 4 includes a base 40, a first leg 41, and a second leg 42. However, the first leg 41 is fitted into the second fitted portion 32E from the shaft holding space S side, not into the insertion gap G.
[0044] In the second embodiment described above, the base 40 of the closure member 4 is disposed inside the through-hole 33S in the pull-tab holder 3A, i.e., between the pair of side walls 34A, 34B, thereby closing the insertion gap G, and the first leg 41 and the second leg 42 (a pair of legs) of the closure member 4 extend from the base 40 and can be fitted into the first fitted portion 31E and the second fitted portion 32E from the shaft holding space S side. Therefore, the closure member 4 is less susceptible to external interference and is less likely to fall off the pull-tab holder 3A. Thus, according to the second embodiment, similar to the first embodiment, a slider 1A is provided that can later be fitted with a pull tab 5 and can prevent the pull tab 5 from falling off.
[0045] (Modifications) In the first embodiment, the second end 32 of the pull-tab holder 3 may be one end of the main body 33 extending in the X direction (one end in the -X direction). In each of the above embodiments, the first end 31 of the pull-tab holder 3, 3A may not have a groove 311 formed therein, and the mating portion 31E (or the first mating portion 31E) may be formed on the inner surface of the first end 31. In each of the above embodiments, the closure member 4 abuts against the pull-tab holder 3, 3A on both sides in the X direction and on both sides in the Y direction, but it does not have to abut against the pull-tab holder 3, 3A in either direction. In each of the above embodiments, the slider body 2 and the pull-tab holder 3, 3A may be molded separately and then combined to form the slider main body 10.
