Cabin and work equipment

[0001] The present invention relates to a cabin provided on a work machine such as a backhoe, and to a work machine provided with the same.

[0002] BACKGROUND ART A working machine disclosed in Patent Document 1 is known in the prior art.

[0003] The rotating work machine disclosed in Patent Document 1 has a cabin with a front window divided into upper and lower halves, and the upper half of the front window glass assembly (upper window portion) is configured to open toward the ceiling (above the driver's seat) along a rail portion of the cabin frame that surrounds the driver's seat.

[0004] Japanese Patent Publication No. 2001-158230

[0005] In a cabin mounted on this type of work machine, it is conceivable that the upper half of the front window (upper window) opens upward inward into the cabin as described above, and that the lower half of the front window (lower window) can also be opened and closed. However, if the lower window is configured to open toward the ceiling along a rail like the upper window, it is necessary to provide a space in the ceiling to accommodate the open upper and lower windows and the components attached to both windows, which creates the problem of reducing head clearance inside the cabin.

[0006] The present invention has been made to solve such problems, and has an object to enable the front window portion of the cabin to be fully opened while suppressing a decrease in head clearance inside the cabin.

[0007] The present invention employs the following technical means to achieve the above object.

[0008] A cabin according to one aspect of the present invention is a cabin mounted on a work machine and comprises a protective frame erected around a driver's seat provided on the work machine, a roof provided on the upper part of the protective frame, and a front window provided in front of the protective frame, the front window being divided into an upper and lower section: an upper window section that is movably connected to the underside of the roof in the window frame at the front of the protective frame, and a lower window section that is detachably connected to the window frame, the window frame comprising a lower window stay that engages and supports the lower edge of the lower window section, and a lock receiving section that holds the side edge of the lower window section in a closed position, and the lower window section comprising a locking section that engages with the lock receiving section when the side edge is overlapped with the window frame.

[0009] The locking portions may be disposed on both left and right edge portions of the lower window portion.

[0010] The locking portion or the lock receiving portion may be provided with an unlocking operation element that manually releases the engagement between the locking portion and the lock receiving portion, and the engagement between the locking portion and the lock receiving portion may be released by operating the unlocking operation element.

[0011] The locking portion may include a locking portion main body that supports the unlocking operation element, and the locking portion main body may be provided at the rear of the lower window portion so as to bulge rearward.

[0012] The unlocking operation member may be provided on a side of the locking body that is closer to the center of the lower window portion in the left-right direction, and the unlocking operation may be a pulling operation that moves the unlocking operation member toward the center of the lower window portion in the left-right direction.

[0013] The lower window portion may be provided with a first cutout portion that engages with the lower window stay to prevent the lower window portion from moving in the left-right direction.

[0014] The first cutout portions may be a pair of first cutout portions arranged at a lower edge of the lower window portion and spaced apart in the left-right direction.

[0015] The cabin is provided with a wiper that wipes the outer surface of the upper window portion, and the wiper has a blade portion that abuts the outer surface, an arm portion that supports the blade portion so that it can slide along the outer surface, and a wiper drive portion that oscillates the arm portion, and the wiper drive portion may be provided at a position toward the outside in the left-right direction on the window frame.

[0016] The wiper drive unit may be provided at a position lower than the upper window portion in the window frame.

[0017] The window frame is provided with a wiper bracket that supports the wiper drive unit, and the upper edge of the wiper bracket is positioned in a position that is aligned in the left-right direction with the upper edge of the lower window portion in the closed position, and may form an abutting end with the lower edge of the upper window portion.

[0018] The wiper bracket may include a drive unit cover that covers the wiper drive unit, and the lower window portion may include a second cutout portion that avoids interference with the drive unit cover when attaching or detaching the lower window portion to or from the window frame.

[0019] The locking portion may be engaged with the lock receiving portion by pressing the side edge portion against the window frame from the inside to the outside of the cabin while the lower edge portion of the lower window portion is supported by the lower window stay.

[0020] The work machine includes a machine body, a work device provided on the machine body, and the cabin.

[0021] According to the above cabin, it is possible to fully open the front window portion of the cabin while suppressing a decrease in head clearance inside the cabin.

[0022] FIG. 1 is a left front perspective view of the work machine. FIG. 2 is a left side view of the work machine. FIG. 3 is a front view of the work machine. FIG. 4 is a rear view of the work machine. FIG. 5 is a top view of the swivel base. FIG. 6 is a right side view of the swivel base. FIG. 7 is a rear view of the periphery of the front frame. The left window frame portion 31a extends vertically along the left front pillar 33F. The right window frame portion 31b extends vertically along the right front pillar 34F. The lower window frame portion 31c connects and supports the lower ends of the left window frame portion 31a and the right window frame portion 31b. The front lower frame portion 31d is disposed horizontally between the lower ends of the left front pillar 33F and the right front pillar 34F along the lower edge of the lower window frame portion 31c. A wiper bracket 37 is connected to the right edge of the lower window frame portion 31c (the inner right edge of the window opening 41). The window opening 41 is defined by the left window frame portion 31a, the right window frame portion 31b, the lower window frame portion 31d, and the front edge portion 35a of the roof 35 in a generally rectangular shape that is long in the vertical direction. The wiper 36 is pivotally connected to a wiper bracket 37 so that it can swing. A front light bracket 43 is provided on the front portion of the front lower frame 31d. A work light 11 that illuminates the area in front and to the left of the swivel base 2 is mounted on the front light bracket 43.

[0038] As shown in FIG. 4 , the rear frame 32 includes a rear upper frame 32a and a rear lower frame 32b. The rear upper frame 32a is laterally disposed between the upper ends of the left rear pillar 33R and the right rear pillar 34R at the rear upper portion of the cabin 5. The rear lower frame 32b is laterally disposed between the lower ends of the left rear pillar 33R and the right rear pillar 34R in front of a cover body 8R (a cover covering an air conditioning unit (not shown) mounted at the rear of the cabin 5) provided at the rear of the cabin 5. A rear window 44 is attached to an opening defined by the left rear pillar 33R, the right rear pillar 34R, the rear upper frame 32a, and the rear lower frame 32b to ensure the driver's rearward visibility. A rear light bracket 45 is provided on the rear surface of the rear upper frame 32a. A work light 11 is attached to the rear light bracket 45 to illuminate the rear and left and right sides of the swivel base 2.

[0039] As shown in Figure 5, the roof 35 is disposed laterally between the left upper frame 33T and the right upper frame 34T and covers the driver's seat 6 from above. The front edge 35a of the roof 35 extends and overlaps the front portion of the cabin 5. That is, the front edge 35a of the roof 35 forms an upper frame disposed laterally between the upper ends of the left front pillar 33F and the right front pillar 34F in the upper front portion of the cabin 5, and the left and right window frame portions 31a, 31b of the front frame 31 are connected to the left and right lower ends of the front edge 35a. The skylight 50 is provided near the front edge 35a of the roof 35 to ensure the driver's forward and upward visibility.

[0040] As shown in FIGS. 3 and 7 , the wiper 36 includes a blade portion 36a, a pair of arm portions 36b, and a wiper drive unit (wiper drive portion) 36c. The wiper drive unit 36c is a device that swings the arm portion 36b using a wiper motor and a link mechanism (not shown), and is fixed to the rear surface of the wiper bracket 37. The wiper drive unit 36c is entirely covered by a drive portion cover 37C provided on the rear surface of the wiper bracket 37. The base end of the arm portion 36b is pivotally connected to the wiper drive unit 36c from the front side of the wiper bracket 37. The base ends of the two arm portions 36b are connected to the front side of the wiper bracket 37, side by side. The tip ends of the two arm portions 36b are connected to each other, side by side, by a connecting plate 36d. The blade portion 36a is connected to the tip end of the arm portion 36b via the connecting plate 36d. When the wiper 36 is stopped, the blade 36a extends vertically at a position near the right window frame 31b on the front side of the window opening 41 (see FIG. 3). When the arm 36b is swung leftward from this state, the blade 36a slides slightly diagonally downward and to the left along the front surface of the upper window portion 51 of the front window 42, with the blade end abutting against the front surface (outer surface) of the upper window portion 51. In this embodiment, the wiper 36 is a double-arm (pantograph) wiper device that oscillates the blade 36a with two arms 36b, but may also be a single-arm wiper device that oscillates the blade 36a with one arm 36b.

[0041] In the case of the double-arm wiper device described above, if the wiper drive unit 36c, which serves as the base, is disposed too far outward from the center between the left and right of the upper window portion 51, the blade portion 36a cannot be swung over a wide range along the front surface of the upper window portion 51, and a large area will be left unwiped. However, in the work machine 1 of this embodiment, a wiper bracket 37 protrudes from the right edge of the lower window frame portion 31c toward the center between the left and right of the upper window portion 51, and the wiper drive unit 36c is mounted on the wiper bracket 37. This allows the blade portion 36a to be swung over a wider range along the front surface of the upper window portion 51.

[0042] The wiper bracket 37 is provided at a position lower than the upper window portion 51 on the right edge of the lower window frame portion 31c. The wiper bracket 37 is also arranged at the right edge of the lower window frame portion 31c in approximately the same direction as the line of sight when the driver sitting in the driver's seat 6 views the swing bracket 2B and at a position lower than the line of sight, i.e., at a position where it appears to overlap the swing bracket 2B in the front and rear (see FIG. 3). This makes it unlikely that the wiper bracket 37 and the wiper drive unit 36c will obstruct the view from the upper window portion 51, improving the driver's visibility forward of the machine body (swivel base) 2.

[0043] <Front Window> The front window 42 has approximately the same outer peripheral shape as the window opening 41 and covers the window opening 41 from the rear (inside the cabin 5). The front window 42 has an upper window portion 51 that covers the upper half of the window opening 41 and a lower window portion 52 that covers the lower half of the window opening 41. That is, the front window 42 is divided into upper and lower portions. In this embodiment, the upper window portion 51 is formed to a size that covers approximately the upper three-fifths of the window opening 41, and the lower window portion 52 is formed to a size that covers approximately the lower two-fifths of the window opening 41. Note that the coverage of the window opening 41 by the upper window portion 51 and the lower window portion 52 is not limited to the above ratio.

[0044] As shown in Figures 7 and 8, the upper window section 51 has a window plate 51a, a peripheral frame 51b, and sliders 54. The window plate 51a is formed from a transparent plate material such as glass or synthetic resin. The peripheral frame 51b extends along the outer periphery of the window plate 51a and holds the window plate 51a in place. The sliders 54 are respectively disposed on the left and right side edges of an upper edge portion (upper window upper edge portion) 51T of the peripheral frame 51b and on the left and right side edges of a lower edge portion (upper window lower edge portion) 51F.

[0045] The slider 54 on the upper window upper edge 51T side is engaged with an upper rail 38T that extends in the front-to-rear direction along the underside of the roof 35 near the left and right side edges. Meanwhile, the slider 54 on the lower window edge 51F side is engaged with a front rail 38F that extends in the up-down direction along the inner surfaces of the left and right front pillars 33F, 34F. That is, the upper edge 51T of the upper window section 51 is engaged and held on the underside of the roof 35 so as to be slidable in the front-to-rear direction, and the lower edge 51F is engaged and held on the inner sides of the front pillars 33F, 34F so as to be slidable in the up-down direction. The upper window section 51 is also connected and supported to the inside of the right frame 34 via a link mechanism 53. As a result, the upper window section 51 can be moved upward from a closed position located at the rear of the front frame 31, changing its posture from an upright state to a tilted state, and can be moved to an open position located at the bottom of the roof 35 (above the inside of the cabin 5) as it is lifted upward (see Figure 9).

[0046] As shown in Figures 7 to 9, the lower window section 52 includes a window plate 52a and a lock handle (lock portion) 55. The window plate 52a is formed from a transparent plate material such as glass or synthetic resin. The window plate 52a includes a first notch 56 and a second notch 57. The first notches 56 are provided in a pair spaced apart on the left and right sides at the lower edge 52b of the lower window section 52. The first notches 56 are formed in a rectangular U-shape that recesses upward on the window plate 52a and engage from above with a pair of lower window stays 39A, which are provided spaced apart on the left and right sides below the window opening 41 at the rear of the lower window frame 31c. This positions and holds the lower edge 52b of the lower window section 52 at the rear of the window opening 41. The second notch 57 is provided at the upper end of the right side edge 52c of the lower window section 52, i.e., in the upper right corner of the lower window section 52. The second cutout 57 is formed in a generally arcuate shape recessed toward the lower left of the window plate 52a and is positioned along the lower left outer peripheral surface of the drive unit cover 37C of the wiper drive unit 36c. This prevents interference between the lower window 52 and the drive unit cover 37C when the lower window 52 is attached to or detached from the front frame (window frame) 31. The upper edge 52d of the lower window 52 is aligned laterally with the upper edge 37d of the wiper bracket 37 when in the closed position. In other words, the upper edge 37d of the wiper bracket 37 is aligned laterally with the upper edge 52d of the lower window 52 when in the closed position, and forms an abutting edge with the upper window lower edge 51F when the upper window 51 is closed. The wiper drive unit 36c, which is fixed to the rear surface of the wiper bracket 37, is positioned below the upper window 51 of the front frame 31.

[0047] The lock handles 55 are respectively disposed on the left and right side edges 52c on the rear surface of the lower window portion 52. Both lock handles 55 are disposed at the same height in the center between the top and bottom on the rear surface of the lower window portion 52. The lock handles 55 are configured to be able to fit into a pair of lock receivers 39B provided on the left and right sides of the window opening 41 at the rear of the lower window frame portion 31c, and by fitting the lock handles 55 into the lock receivers 39B, the left and right side edges 52c of the lower window portion 52 are fixed at the rear of the window opening 41.

[0048] In this way, the lower edge 52b of the lower window section 52 is engaged and held by the two lower window stays 39A, and the left and right side edge portions 52c are removably fitted and held by the two lock receivers 39B. Therefore, after releasing the left and right lock handles 55 from the lock receivers 39B, the upper edge 52d can be tilted slightly backward and then pulled up, allowing the lower window section 52 to be removed from the front frame 31 without interfering with the drive unit cover 37C. Conversely, after engaging the lower edge 52b with the lower window stays 39A with the upper edge 52d tilted slightly backward, the lower window section 52 can be placed on the rear of the front frame 31 so as to cover the window opening 41 from behind, and the left and right lock handles 55 can be fitted into the lock receivers 39B, allowing the lower window section 52 to be fixed and held on the rear of the front frame 31 without interfering with the drive unit cover 37C. A gasket 31P is provided around the entire inner periphery of the window opening 41, and both the upper window portion 51 and the lower window portion 52 are tightly held against the rear of the front frame 31 via the gasket 31P when in the closed position.

[0049] As shown in FIG. 10 , the lock handle 55 includes a base plate 55a, a handle body (locking body) 55b, an operating knob (unlocking operation element) 55c, a latch bolt 55d, a bolt case 55e, and a biasing member 55f. The base plate 55a is a plate bent into an L-shape when viewed from above and is fixed to the rear surface of the window plate 52a of the lower window 52. The handle body 55b is a cover body formed into an L-shape when viewed from above and bulging rearward from the rear of the lower window 52. It is fixed to the base plate 55a with screws and covers the entire base plate 55a. The operating knob 55c is provided on the side (inner surface) of the bulging portion S1 of the handle body 55b near the center of the lower window 52. That is, the two operating knobs 55c are arranged facing each other on the left and right side edges 52c of the lower window 52.

[0050] The latch bolt 55d is a shaft extending in the left-right direction and is held within the bolt case 55e so as to be slidable in the left-right direction. The tip claw J1 of the latch bolt 55d is formed in a generally right-angled triangular shape in cross section when viewed from above, with a sloped surface on the front side. The bolt case 55e is a cylindrical body extending in the left-right direction, and the latch bolt 55d is inserted into its hollow interior. The tip claw J1 of the latch bolt 55d protrudes outward from the outer end (outer end) of the lower window 52 of the bolt case 55d. The rear end J2 of the latch bolt 55d protrudes outward from the end (inner end) of the lower window 52 of the bolt case 55d near the center, and the operation knob 55c is attached to this rear end J2. That is, the operation knob 55c is connected to the latch bolt 55d at the side (inner surface) of the bulge S1 of the handle body 55b near the center of the lower window 52.

[0051] The biasing member 55f is a coil spring that is mounted around the latch bolt 55d inside the bolt case 55e and biases the latch bolt 55d in the direction in which the tip claw J1 protrudes (outward). Therefore, when the lower window 52 is placed over the rear of the front frame 31 and the inclined surface of the tip claw J1 of the latch bolt 55d is pressed against the lock receiving portion 39B, the tip claw J1 is pushed into the bolt case 55e against the elastic force of the biasing member 55f. When the lower window 52 is further pressed toward the rear of the front frame 31 and the tip claw J1 of the latch bolt 55d overlaps the latch fitting hole H1 of the lock receiving portion 39B, the elastic force of the biasing member 55f automatically inserts the tip claw J1 into the latch fitting hole H1. This secures the lower window 52 to the rear of the front frame 31. Furthermore, from this state, if the operating knob 55c is manually pulled toward the center of the lower window 52 against the elastic force of the biasing member 55f (release operation), the tip claw J1 of the latch bolt 55d is pulled inward into the bolt case 55e. This releases the engagement of the lower window 52 with the lock receiving portion 39B, making it removable. Furthermore, if the operating knob 55c is subsequently released, the elastic force of the biasing member 55f automatically returns the tip claw J1 to its state protruding outward from the bolt case 55d.

[0052] <Other embodiments> In the above embodiment, a pair of lock handles (locking portions) 55 are arranged on both the left and right side edges 52c of the lower window portion 52, but the locking portions 55 may be arranged on only one of the left and right side edges 52c of the lower window portion 52 as long as the lower window portion 52 can be properly held relative to the front frame (window frame) 31.

[0053] Furthermore, in the above embodiment, the lock handle 55 is configured so that its engagement with the lock receiving portion 39B is released by the release operation of the operation knob (unlock operation element) 55c, but it may also be configured so that it does not have the operation knob 55c and that its engagement with the lock receiving portion 39B is released by another operation, such as lifting the lock handle 55.

[0054] In the above embodiment, the unlocking operation using the operation knob 55c is described as being a pulling operation that moves the operation knob 55c toward the center in the left-right direction of the lower window portion 52. However, the operation knob 55c may be provided at the rear of the handle main body (lock portion main body) 55b, and the unlocking operation may be an operation of moving the operation knob 55c rearward. Alternatively, the operation knob 55c may be provided at the top of the handle main body 55b, and the unlocking operation may be an operation of moving the operation knob 55c upward. Furthermore, the unlocking operation is not limited to a pulling operation, and may be a pushing operation, a sliding operation, a swinging operation, or a rotating operation, as long as it can smoothly and safely release the engagement between the lock handle 55 and the lock receiving portion 39B.

[0055] Furthermore, in the above embodiment, the unlocking operation member (operation knob) 55c is described as being provided on the lock handle 55, but it may also be provided on the lock receiving portion 39B, and configured so that the engagement between the lock handle 55 and the lock receiving portion 39B is released by operating the unlocking operation member 55c (for example, by pushing the unlocking operation member 55c toward the center of the lower window portion 52 in the left-right direction).

[0056] <Effects> As described above, the cabin 5 of the above embodiment is a cabin 5 mounted on a work machine 1, and comprises a protective frame 30 erected around a driver's seat 6 provided on the work machine 1, a roof 35 provided on the upper part of the protective frame 30, and a front window 42 provided in front of the protective frame 30, the front window 42 being configured by being divided into an upper and lower part: an upper window section 51 that is movably connected to the underside of the roof 35 to a window frame (front frame) 31 at the front of the protective frame 30, and a lower window section 52 that is detachably connected to the window frame 31, the window frame 31 comprising a lower window stay 39A that engages and supports a lower edge section 52b of the lower window section 52, and a lock receiving section 39B that holds a side edge section 52c of the lower window section 52 in a closed position, and the lower window section 52 comprises a lock section (lock handle) 55 that fits into the lock receiving section 39B when the side edge section 52c is overlapped with the window frame 31.

[0057] With this configuration, the front window 42 can be fully opened by opening the upper window portion 51 toward the underside of the roof 35 (upper inside of the cabin 5), releasing the engagement between the lock portion 55 and the lock receiving portion 39B, and removing the lower window portion 52 from the window frame 31. Moreover, since the configuration in which the lower window portion 52 is removed and opened as described above eliminates the need to provide space on the underside (ceiling) of the roof 35 to accommodate the lower window portion 52 and its accessories, it is possible to increase head clearance within the cabin 5 accordingly. Moreover, because the lower window portion 52 can be removed from the window frame 31 by tilting it back and forth around the lower edge portion 52b as a fulcrum, the front window 42 can be fully opened more easily than if it were removed by sliding it up and down along the window frame.

[0058] Additionally, the locking portions 55 are disposed on both left and right edge portions 52c of the lower window portion 52. With this configuration, there is no need to provide other structures such as a locking mechanism or frame between the upper window portion 51 and the lower window portion 52, so a structure can be adopted in which the entire window frame 31 opens wide when the front window 42 is fully opened.

[0059] Furthermore, the locking portion 55 or the lock receiving portion 39B is provided with an unlocking operator (operation knob) 55c for manually releasing the engagement between the locking portion 55 and the lock receiving portion 39B, and the engagement between the locking portion 55 and the lock receiving portion 39B is released by operating the unlocking operator 55c. With this configuration, the lower window portion 52 can be easily removed from the window frame 31 by operating the unlocking operator 55c, making it possible to fully open the front window 42 more quickly and easily.

[0060] The locking section 55 also includes a locking section main body (handle main body) 55b that supports an unlocking operation element 55c, and the locking section main body 55b is provided so as to bulge rearward at the rear of the lower window section 52. With this configuration, when operating the unlocking operation element 55c to remove the lower window section 52 from the window frame 31, the locking section main body 55b can be grasped and the lower window section 52 can be lifted, making it possible to fully open the front window 42 more quickly and easily.

[0061] Additionally, the unlocking operation element 55c is provided on the side of the locking unit main body 55b that is closer to the center in the left-right direction of the lower window portion 52, and the unlocking operation is a pulling operation that moves the unlocking operation element 55c toward the center in the left-right direction of the lower window portion 52. With this configuration, the direction in which the unlocking operation element 55c is operated is different from the direction in which the lower window portion 52 is lifted and removed from the window frame 31, thereby preventing the lower window portion 52 from unintentionally coming off the window frame 31 during cleaning or other work.

[0062] The lower window section 52 also has a first notch 56 that engages with the lower window stay 39A to prevent left-right movement of the lower window section 52. With this configuration, by engaging the first notch 56 with the lower window stay 39A, the lower window section 52 is positioned and held in place in the window frame 31, allowing the front window 42 to be fully closed quickly and easily. This significantly improves opening and closing operability.

[0063] Furthermore, a pair of first cutouts 56 are arranged spaced apart in the left-right direction on the lower edge 52b of the lower window portion 52. With this configuration, the lower window portion 52 is properly positioned and held by the window frame 31, allowing the front window 42 to be fully closed more quickly and easily, further improving opening and closing operability.

[0064] The cabin 5 also has a wiper 36 that wipes the outer surface of the upper window portion 51. The wiper 36 has a blade portion 36a that abuts against the outer surface, an arm portion 36b that supports the blade portion 36a so that it can slide along the outer surface, and a wiper drive portion (wiper drive unit) 36c that oscillates the arm portion 36b. The wiper drive portion 36c is provided at a position toward the outside in the left-right direction on the window frame 31.

[0065] If the wiper drive unit 36c is provided in the upper window portion 51, in order to prevent the wiper drive unit 36c from interfering with the roof 35 when the upper window portion 51 is opened toward the underside of the roof 35 (upper inside of the cabin 5), it is necessary to ensure a space large enough to accommodate the wiper drive unit 36c between the upper window portion 51 and the underside of the roof 35 when the upper window portion 51 is in the open position. This reduces the head clearance inside the cabin 5. On the other hand, if the wiper drive unit 36c is provided in the lower window portion 52, it is difficult to configure the lower window portion 52 to be removable due to issues such as electrical wiring and weight, and therefore the front window 42 cannot be configured to be fully openable.

[0066] In contrast, in the cabin 5 of the above embodiment, the wiper drive unit 36c is provided at a position near the outside on the left and right sides of the window frame 31, so the lower window portion 52 can be easily removed from the window frame 31. In other words, the front window 42 can be easily fully opened. Also, in this configuration, there is no need to ensure a space between the upper window portion 51 and the underside of the roof 35 when in the open position that can accommodate the wiper drive unit 36c, so the head clearance inside the cabin 5 can be increased accordingly.

[0067] Furthermore, the wiper drive unit 36c is provided at a position lower than the upper window portion 51 of the window frame 31. With this configuration, the wiper drive unit 36c is unlikely to obstruct the view from the upper window portion 51, improving the driver's visibility ahead of the machine body (swivel base) 2.

[0068] The window frame 31 also includes a wiper bracket 37 that supports the wiper drive unit 36c, and the upper edge 37d of the wiper bracket 37 is aligned in the left-right direction with the upper edge 52d of the lower window portion 52 in the closed position, forming an abutting end with the lower edge 51F of the upper window portion 51. This configuration eliminates the need for a frame between the upper window portion 51 and the lower window portion 52, allowing for a structure in which the entire window frame 31 opens wide when the front window 42 is fully open. It also makes it possible to improve the airtightness between the upper window portion 51 and the lower window portion 52 when the front window 42 is fully closed.

[0069] Additionally, the wiper bracket 37 includes a drive unit cover 37C that covers the wiper drive unit 36c, and the lower window unit 52 includes a second cutout 57 that avoids interference with the drive unit cover 37C when attaching or detaching the lower window unit 52 to or from the window frame 31. With this configuration, interference with the drive unit cover 37C can be avoided when attaching or detaching the lower window unit 52 to or from the window frame 31, making it possible to fully open the front window 42 more quickly and easily.

[0070] Additionally, the locking portion 55 engages with the lock receiving portion 39B by pressing the side edge 52c from the inside to the outside of the cabin 5 against the window frame 31 with the lower edge 52b of the lower window portion 52 supported by the lower window stay 39A. With this configuration, the lower window portion 52 can be attached to the window frame 31 by tilting it back and forth around the lower edge 52b as a fulcrum, making it easy to fully close the front window 42.

[0071] The work machine 1 of this embodiment includes a machine body (swivel base) 2, a work device 4 provided on the machine body 2, and the cabin 5 configured as described above. This configuration makes it possible to realize a work machine that allows the front window 42 to be fully opened while suppressing a decrease in head clearance within the cabin 5.

[0072] Although the present invention has been described above, the embodiments disclosed herein should be considered to be illustrative and not restrictive in all respects. The scope of the present invention is defined by the claims, not by the above description, and is intended to include all modifications within the meaning and scope of the claims.

[0073] Furthermore, in the above-described embodiment, an example was described in which the present invention is applied to a work machine such as a backhoe, but the application of the present invention is not limited to this, and the present invention may be applied to other construction machines such as wheel loaders, compact track loaders, and skid steer loaders, as well as agricultural machines such as tractors, combine harvesters, rice transplanters, and lawn mowers.
