Description

Technology Field

[0001] The present invention relates to a disposable nasal clip, and more specifically, to a disposable nasal clip that helps to easily check the inside of the nose and perform medical examination or treatment by expanding the nostrils for examination or treatment or for collecting specimens in otolaryngology or the like. Background Technology

[0002] In the otolaryngology department, nasal dilation forceps or a nasal speculum are used to widen the nostrils in order to directly examine the inside of the nose during the process of examining or treating patients with nasal abnormalities.

[0003] The above-mentioned nasal clip is a device that allows a doctor to enlarge the nostrils while looking inside the patient's nose. Conventionally, as shown in FIG. 1, a handle part (1) with a spring formed at the bottom centered around a hinge part is formed like scissors, and an enlargement part (2) is formed at the top so that it can be spread left and right by the handle part (1).

[0004] The above enlargement portion (2) is formed such that a pair corresponds to each other, and is formed in a convex shape outward as the diameter decreases toward the front.

[0005] Conventional non-metallic devices are made of metal, and significant costs and time must be invested in disinfection and other hygienic management; furthermore, there is a possibility that they may be reused without proper disinfection.

[0006] In addition, the above-mentioned conventional nasal clip is structured such that when a user holds the handle portion (10) and applies force to rotate the handle portion (1) so that they come closer together, the enlargement portion (20) opens up and expands the nostrils. However, when the nostrils need to be expanded for a long time during the treatment process, the user must continuously apply force and maintain a grip on the handle portion (1), so there is a problem that the user feels a great deal of fatigue when using it for a long time. [0024] FIGS. 2 to 5 illustrate a disposable nasal clip (10) according to one embodiment of the present invention.

[0025] The disposable nasal clip of the present invention is formed in the shape of scissors as shown in FIG. 2, and is equipped with an entry part (11) that can be entered into and expanded into the nostril, a gripping part (12) that can be grasped by the user with the hand, and an elastic part (13) that elastically supports the gripping part (12) in a direction that spreads apart when no external force is applied.

[0026] When no external force is applied, the gripping part (12) is maintained in an open state by the elastic part (13), and the entry part (11) is also in an open state.

[0027] When the user applies an external force to narrow the gap by holding the gripping part (12), the gap of the entry part (11) also narrows, making it easier for the entry part (11) to enter the nostril, and when the external force is removed, both the gripping part (12) and the entry part (11) open up due to the elastic part (13), thereby expanding the nostril.

[0028] As the expanded state of the nostrils is maintained without applying external force, the user can easily perform tasks such as medical examination, treatment, or specimen collection.

[0029] The configuration of the disposable non-disposable clip (10) of the present invention is described in more detail as follows.

[0030] Referring to FIG. 3, the disposable non-disposable clip (10) of the present invention is provided with a first body (100), a second body (200), a hinge joint (300), and an elastic support (400) to form the entry part (11), the gripping part (12), and the elastic part (13) of FIG. 2.

[0031] The first body (100) includes a first pivot member (110) that is extended to a predetermined length, a first entry member (120) formed on one side of the first pivot member (110), and a first handle member (140) formed on the other side of the first pivot member (110).

[0032] The first pivot member (110) is provided with a center portion of a predetermined area where a hinge joint portion (300), described later, can be formed in the center, and extends to one side and the other side centered on this center portion.

[0033] The first entry member (120) is formed at one end of the first rotating member (110) and protrudes so as to be able to enter the interior of the nostril. The outer wall surface of the first entry member (120) is formed in a curved shape so as to come into contact with the inner surface of the nose inside the nostril, and is formed to be able to enter sufficiently deep so as to receive force during the process of expanding the nostril.

[0034] And at one end of the first rotating member (110), a first support member (130) is formed at a position spaced apart from the first entry member (120) by a predetermined distance.

[0035] The first support member (130) is a part that can be supported by contacting the outer skin of the nose or the philtrum when the first entry member (120) enters the inside of the nostril, and is protruded relatively shorter than the first entry member (120).

[0036] Since the thickness between the outer surface of the nose into which the first entry member (120) enters and the inner surface of the nostril varies from person to person, it is preferable that the first entry member (120) and the first support member (130) be formed to be sufficiently spaced apart so that even people with relatively large or thick noses can use it.

[0037] The first handle member (140) is formed to extend to the other side centered on the center portion, and is formed to be easy for a user to grip with their hand or apply pressure using their fingers.

[0038] In the case of this embodiment, since the size is formed to be relatively small, the first handle member (140) is formed so that the user can grasp and apply pressure with the fingertips using the thumb and index finger or the thumb, index finger, and middle finger rather than wrapping it with the entire palm, but the length of the first handle member (140) may be formed longer as needed.

[0039] A hinge joint portion (300) for connecting with the second rotating member (210) described later is formed protrudingly in the center portion of the first rotating member (110).

[0040] The hinge joint (300) is provided so that the first pivot member (110) and the second pivot member (210) can be pivotably joined around the hinge joint (300), and includes a cylindrical member (310) protruding from the first pivot member (110) and a locking member (320) formed on the upper end of the cylindrical member (310).

[0041] The above cylindrical member (310) is formed as a hollow cylinder, and since the hinge joint (300) is injection molded integrally with the first rotating member (110), it is formed as a cylinder shape having a hollow extending from the lower surface of the first rotating member (110).

[0042] The above-mentioned stopper member (320) is provided at the top of the cylindrical member (310), and the lower portion connected to the cylindrical member (310) is formed to have an outer diameter relatively larger than the outer diameter of the cylindrical member (310), so that a step is formed at the connection point between the stopper member (320) and the cylindrical member (310).

[0043] In addition, the locking member (320) is formed so that its outer diameter gradually decreases as it extends upward from the bottom. The locking member is also formed to have a hollow extending from the cylindrical member (310), so the hinge joint (300) is formed to be penetrating from the top to the bottom.

[0044] In addition, the hinge joint (300) extends from the upper end of the catch member (320) to the lower end of the cylindrical member (310), and has an incision groove (330) formed that penetrates the outer surface and the inner surface. Four incision grooves (330) are formed at equal intervals along the outer surface of the lower part of the hinge joint, and when the first pivot member (110) and the second pivot member (210) are connected by the incision groove (330), the upper end of the hinge joint (300) is closed inward and can pass through the hinge joint hole (340) of the second pivot member (210) described later.

[0045] After passing through the hinge joint hole (340), the catch member (320) returns to its initial state, and the lower end of the catch member (320) is extended beyond the hinge joint hole (340), so that the first rotating member (110) and the second rotating member (210) remain connected without being separated.

[0046] The second body (200) includes a second pivot member (210), a second entry member (220), a second support member (230), and a second handle member (240), and a hinge joint hole (340) is formed in the second pivot member (210) for fitting the hinge joint part (300), and is formed in an opposing shape so as to form the gripping part (12) and the entry part (11) together with the first body (100).

[0047] Since the hinge joint hole (340) is formed with a diameter corresponding to the outer diameter of the cylindrical member (310), the locking member (320) of the hinge joint part (300) is not separated again after passing through the hinge joint hole (340) as described above, and since it is formed in a circular shape corresponding to the outer diameter of the cylindrical member (310), the first body (100) and the second body (200) can rotate around the hinge joint part (300) like scissors.

[0048] Therefore, when the user presses the first handle member (140) and the second handle member (240) in a direction that brings them closer to each other, the first entry member (120) and the second entry member (220) also move in a direction that is adjacent to each other, making it easier to enter into the nostril, and when the first handle member (140) and the second handle member (240) are separated by the elastic support member (400), the first entry member (120) and the second entry member (220) also become separated, thereby expanding the nostril.

[0049] The above elastic support member (400) comprises a first elastic member (410) extending from a first handle member (140) and a second elastic member (420) extending from a second handle member (240).

[0050] The first elastic member (410) and the second elastic member (420) are each formed such that the direction extending from one end connected to the first handle member (140) and the second handle member (240) to the other end is directed toward the hinge joint (300).

[0051] And at the other end of the first elastic member (410), a hinge groove (411) is formed that is inserted along the longitudinal direction for a predetermined length toward one end. And at the other end of the second elastic member (420), a hinge projection (421) is formed to have a width corresponding to the width of the hinge groove (411) and enters the hinge groove (411).

[0052] The first elastic member (410) and the second elastic member (420) are interconnected so that the hinge projection (421) is fitted into the hinge groove (411), and as shown in FIG. 4, when a user presses the first handle member (140) and the second handle member (240) in a direction that brings them closer to each other, the first elastic member (410) and the second elastic member (420) are each deformed so that their other ends are adjacent to the first handle member (140) and the second handle member (240).

[0053] Afterward, when the external force applied to the first handle member (140) and the second handle member (240) disappears, the first handle member (140) and the second handle member (240) open up to their initial state due to the restoring force of the first elastic member (410) and the second elastic member (420).

[0054] The disposable nasal clip (10) of the present invention described above is used to expand a person's nostrils as shown in FIG. 5. When a user presses the first handle member (140) and the second handle member (240) to narrow the gap between the first entry member (120) and the second entry member (220) and then enters the inside of the nostril to be expanded, and then releases the external force applied to the first handle member (140) and the second handle member (240), the first handle member (140) and the second handle member (240), as well as the first entry member (120) and the second entry member (220), spread together due to the restoring force of the elastic support member (400), thereby expanding the nostrils.

[0055] Unlike conventional nasal clips, this structure allows the nostrils to expand when no external force is applied, so the user can easily maintain the expanded state of the nostrils during treatment, medical examination, or specimen collection.

[0056] In addition, the disposable nose clip of the present invention can be constructed by assembling one member comprising the first body (100), the hinge joint (300), and the first elastic member (410), and another member comprising the second body (200) and the second elastic member (420), respectively, after injection molding. Since the injection molding is performed using synthetic resin, the production cost is low, and since it is disposed of after a single use and not reused, there is no concern about hygiene issues.

[0057] The description of the presented embodiments is provided so that any person skilled in the art may use or practice the present invention. Various modifications to these embodiments will be apparent to those skilled in the art, and the general principles defined herein may be applied to other embodiments without departing from the scope of the present invention. Thus, the present invention is not limited to the embodiments presented herein, but should be interpreted in the broadest possible scope consistent with the principles and novel features presented herein.
