Abstract

The present invention provides a silica co-precursor thermal-insulation aerogel synthesized using a silane coupling agent, a preparation method thereof. It relates to a method for preparing an aerogel. The present invention aims to solve the problems of lack of elasticity, mechanical properties caused by internal crack defects in bulk aerogels prepared by an existing ambient-pressure drying method. Accordingly, the present invention provides a method for preparing a silica aerogel synthesized using KH-560 as a silane coupling agent. The method is characterized in that the steps of the present invention comprise: (1) adding deionized water ethanol to hexadecyltrimethylchlorosilane, stirring to obtain an emulsion-colored solution; (2) adding hydrochloric acid and a dual silicon source, followed by stirring until the solution becomes clear; (3) adding a quantitative amount of silane coupling agent, stirring; and (4) adjusting the pH to carry out gelation, aging, solvent exchange, and drying, thereby obtaining a rubber-like bulk aerogel.
