Bite support for positioning an intraoral dental radiographic medium

Abstract

The present invention relates to a bite support (1) for positioning an intraoral dental radiographic medium comprising: a first body or main body / receiver (10) providing housing and support to a radiographic medium; and, a second body or sliding body / actuator (20) functionally cooperating with the first body (10) for holding or releasing the radiographic means through guiding means and contact surfaces and load transmission zone; wherein both first (10) and second (20) bodies exhibit a monolithic structure; and wherein the bite support (1) includes an elastic region (14) which itself constitutes a bistable mechanism of flexible elements with two stable equilibrium positions or states, the first position of which corresponds to the fixing (operative position of the bite support) of the radiographic medium, and the second position corresponds to the release (at rest position of the bite support) of said radiographic medium, wherein the passage from one position to another is made by a snap-in sequential actuation.
