Hybrid cutting tool for weld flash removal

Abstract

The subject of the application, shown in the drawing, is a hybrid cutting tool for removing butt weld overgrowth from tubular and cylindrical elements, with the option of burnishing the weld surface. The application enables machining of complex butt weld surfaces of circular shapes and varying dimensions, made of various steel grades and alloys, as well as automating the machining process, increasing efficiency and reducing the labor intensity of the weld machining process. Furthermore, the hybrid cutting tool is characterized by a wide range of properties ensuring its long-term operation and application in the shipbuilding, aerospace, defense, rail transport, and energy industries.
