Abstract
The application concerns an electrode of pure electrolytic copper M1E and a method of manufacturing rods of pure electrolytic copper M1E intended for use as electrodes for the die-sinking electrical discharge machining process. The electrode and the rod obtained by the method are characterized in that they have an anisotropic lamellar structure with a grain shape factor α (αp / αw) in the range of 1.20 to 1.50. The method of manufacturing rods of pure electrolytic copper M1E intended for use as electrodes for the die-sinking electrical discharge machining process, in which the charge material is hydrostatically extruded at room temperature in one stage of the hydrostatic extrusion process, consists in pressing the charge (1) through a die (4) at a constant linear velocity in the range of 10 to 15 cm / s, and the rod (7) produced in the extrusion process is cooled by a pressure medium (6).
