Abstract
Description
[0001] The utility model relates to the field of construction, in particular, to the design of sliding door systems, and can be used in the development of a frame structure for a sliding door as a profile that allows for the installation (fastening) of a cladding element (framing) of a doorway.
[0002] Sliding door systems are now widely used in residential, office, warehouse, and other spaces, allowing for more efficient use of space. The door leaf of a sliding door system slides completely into a recess (pocket) as it moves along a track, significantly saving space. When closed, the door fulfills its original function, closing the opening. When installing a sliding door system, a frame containing vertical and horizontal support posts and beams is assembled, the tracks and door leaf are installed, the opening trim (framing) is installed, and wall panels are installed to cover the sides of the frame. Extruded profile elements are widely used to construct the frame structure of a sliding door system.A profile is a long metal product with a given cross-section [webpage address: https: / / metallurgicheskiy.academic.ru / 9308 / Профиль]. In construction, profiles are used, which are long strips (stiffening elements in the form of strips) with stiffening ribs.
[0003] Typically, the width of the door frame (or carcass) is smaller than the wall thickness (the width of the niche). To close the space between the door leaf and the wall panel (where gaps and joints of the frame elements are visible) and to ensure an aesthetically pleasing doorway, a framing profile is installed on each side of the door leaf along the end of the opening, with the front side of the profile being decoratively finished. This finishing can be accomplished, for example, by installing a framing element—an extension, which is a decorative panel covering the door unit. It is also possible to finish by applying a coating (for example, plaster mortar followed by decorative painting) to the finished surface of the front wall of the framing profile. In this case, the front wall of the framing profile is located along the end of the doorway and covers the free space between the door leaf and the wall panel.
[0004] The installation time is a significant factor when installing door systems, as it can significantly influence the customer's decision when selecting a contractor. It should be noted that installation time is determined not only by the technician's qualifications but also by the design's technological advancement (which simplifies the assembly of individual components). Therefore, when developing new door systems, specialists strive to create new design solutions (both for the sliding door system as a whole and for individual components and elements) that simplify installation processes.
[0005] A known finishing profile kit [Patent No. RU 84899 U1 "Finishing Profile Kit for Window and Door Openings," IPC E06B 1 / 06, published July 20, 2009] features a stud-based connection between the trim elements and the finished profile attached to the door frame using adhesive. However, the adhesive connection between the trim elements and the frame is permanent and is characterized by high installation complexity when connected to the frame structure of a pocket door.
[0006] A mounting profile is known [patent No. RU 180243 U1 "Mounting Profile for a Door Frame", IPC E06B 1 / 56, date of publication 06.06.2018], comprising a shank for longitudinal fastening to the wall, which passes into the main body (strip) of the profile, which, in turn, passes at a right angle into the shank of the transverse fastening to the wall. The main body of the profile (strip) has a flat shape, and on one side of it there is an external plane for positioning the profile on the wall, and on the other side there is an internal surface adjacent to the door frame. At the point of transition of the shank of the longitudinal fastening to the wall into the strip, an auxiliary shoulder (shelf) is located perpendicular to them on the side of the inner surface of the strip. At the free end of the shelf (i.e., at the end remote from the inner surface of the profile) there is a wall perpendicular to the shelf. One section of the wall (on the shelf side facing the longitudinal fastening shank) serves as a support ledge for the framing element, while the other section (on the opposite side of the shelf) serves as a hook-and-loop for installation in the mating groove of the door frame. The shank-and-loop openings are provided for fastening the profile to the wall. The door frame is secured to the inner surface of the mounting profile using fasteners, such as self-tapping screws. The hook-and-loop opening engages with the groove of the door frame. The mounting profile, with the door frame secured to it, is installed on the edge of the wall opening and secured with fasteners through the openings in the shank-and-loop openings. However, it should be noted that this known technical solution is characterized by a relatively high degree of structural complexity, as well as the complexity of the installation work.
[0007] A mounting strip is known, which is part of the jamb [patent No. RU 173702 U1 "Slope Casing", IPC E06B 1 / 00, E06B 1 / 70, date of publication 09 / 06 / 2017], which consists of two profiles connected to each other - a cover and a mounting strip. The strip is a hollow profile equipped with internal ribs. On the sides of the profile, corner strips with inclined internal surfaces are made. The mounting strip is installed on the jamb using self-tapping screws. Then, a cover is placed on top of the mounting strip, whereby the corner ribs of the cover come into contact with the inclined internal surfaces of the corner strips of the strip. This way, they snap into place, forming a locking connection. The mounting strip on the inside of the base is equipped with two ribs located opposite each other, between which a groove is formed for installing a sheet of plasterboard. However, it should be noted that installing the mounting strip on the jamb using self-tapping screws increases the installation time and complicates the installation work.
[0008] A shaped mounting profile for installing a decorative element is known [patent No. RU 208187 U1 "Fastening element for attaching decorative elements of a doorway", IPC E06B 5 / 00, E06B 1 / 34, date of publication 07.12.2021], which is an extended profile element having a flat base, on one side of which two projections with parallel sides facing each other are made, between which, in the working position of the profile, an element of the door frame is placed, and on the other side of the base, in its middle part, a corrugated projection is made, which is intended for installing a decorative element (extension). In the working position of the profile, the corrugated projection is placed in a mating recess made in the decorative element. The profile with the installed decorative element is installed on the supporting element of the door frame so that the supporting element is located (clamped) between the projections of the mounting profile. However, it should be noted that the connection between the shelves and the flat base is a rigid connection, and inserting the protruding door frame element between the shelves requires significant force, complicating the connection between the profile and the mating door frame element. It should also be noted that the connection between the profile and the door frame element is not very reliable, as the protruding door frame element is installed between two flat surfaces of the projections, and there are no additional fastening elements for the profile to the door frame.
[0009] As a technical solution (prototype) closest to the claimed utility model in terms of a set of essential features, it is proposed to select a framing profile that is part of the design of a sliding door [patent No. GB 2062734 A "Framework including a sliding door", IPC E06B 3 / 46, E06B 3 / 42, published date 05 / 28 / 1981]. The framing profile contains a strip (connecting strip) connected by its inner (located on the side of the niche) edge to the main wall (main longitudinal strip) along its length in such a way that one (front) part of the main strip is located on the front side of the profile, i.e. on the side intended for installing a framing element (facing), for example, an extension, and the other (rear) part of the main strip is located on the rear side of the profile, i.e. from the side intended for connection with the frame stiffening element (with the mating element of the frame structure) of the sliding door.An intermediate wall (additional longitudinal strip) is connected to the connecting strip on the rear side of the framing profile. The longitudinal strips (primary and additional) are positioned opposite each other and face each other with their inner surfaces. The space between these longitudinal strips is used to install the frame structure element during assembly. On the rear surface (i.e., facing the rear side of the framing profile) of the connecting strip, along its outer edge (i.e., located on the side where the wall panel is installed), a rear protruding element (limiting ledge) is formed, located opposite the longitudinal strips and facing them with its inner surface. On the front surface of the connecting strip, along its outer edge, a front ledge is formed, facing the front side of the profile. Thus, as indicated in the description, three U-shaped cavities are formed in the framing profile design. The first cavity is formed on the front side of the profile (between the front part of the main strip, the connecting strip, and the front projection) and is intended for the installation of a framing element (facing). The second cavity is formed on the rear side of the profile (between the rear part of the main strip, the additional strip, and the section of the connecting strip located between them) and is intended for the installation of the head part of the profile element of the framing structure (usually called a starter profile and representing an intermediate connecting profile element connecting the framing profile and the load-bearing beams or studs of the frame). The third cavity is formed on the rear side of the profile (between the additional strip, the limiting projection, and the section of the connecting strip located between them) and is intended for the installation of a wall panel, for example, a sheet of plasterboard. The free end of the rear part of the main strip is equipped with a tooth directed into the second U-shaped cavity.
[0010] When assembling a sliding door system, the head of the extended frame profile element (starter profile) is inserted between the rear of the main longitudinal bar and the additional longitudinal bar. This is due to the fact, as stated in the description, that the additional bar is thin-walled and can yield somewhat when the head of the frame profile element (starter profile) is pressed between the longitudinal bars. The tooth then engages a mating groove made on the surface of the head of the extended frame element. This connects the rear of the main longitudinal bar of the frame profile with the head of the frame structure profile element (starter profile). To ensure a reliable, tight fit of the additional strip of the framing profile to the head of the profile element of the frame structure, it is necessary to install a wall panel between the additional strip and a limiting protrusion that has a thickening in its rear part and an inclined inner surface, which allows for a tight grip of the wall panel and its tight fit to the additional strip, which, in turn, ensures the transfer of the clamping force of the additional strip to the head of the frame structure element.
[0011] With regard to the known technical solution, it should be noted that its design implementation causes the complexity of the installation work when connecting the framing profile and the mating extended element of the frame structure (starting profile) of the sliding door, since the known design of the framing profile provides for the connection of the tooth of the rear part of its main strip with the mating groove on the surface of the head part of the extended element of the frame structure (starting profile), and the design of the additional strip with a flat inner surface requires ensuring a pressure against the mating surface of the head part of the element of the frame structure (starting profile), which is achieved by ensuring the pressure of the wall panel against the additional strip when installing the wall panel between the additional strip and the limiting protrusion.
[0012] The technical result, the achievement of which is ensured by the claimed utility model when used, is the simplification of the installation work on installing the framing profile, i.e. when connecting it to the mating element of the frame structure (starting profile), when assembling the structure of the sliding door.
[0013] To achieve the above technical result, a framing profile for a sliding door frame is proposed. It comprises two longitudinal bars—a primary bar and an additional bar. The longitudinal bars are positioned opposite each other so that their inner surfaces face each other. The longitudinal bars are connected via a connecting bar. One side of the framing profile, which we will refer to as its front side, is designed to be connected to a framing element (e.g., an extension), while the other, opposite side, which we will refer to as its rear side, is designed to be connected to an extended element of the sliding door frame (usually referred to as the starter profile).
[0014] According to the claimed utility model, a locking element is formed on the inner surface of each of the longitudinal strips along its edge on the rear side of the framing profile, providing the possibility of contact interaction with the formation of a locking connection with the mating locking element of the said extended element of the frame structure. On the inner surface of each of the longitudinal strips, after the locking element in the direction towards the front side of the framing profile, a supporting projection is formed, having a surface facing the rear side of the framing profile and providing the possibility of contact interaction with the mating surface of the said extended element of the frame structure. The connecting strip is curved in the direction towards the front side of the framing profile and is located in such a way that one of its edges is connected to the front edge of the additional longitudinal strip, and the other - to the supporting projection of the main longitudinal strip. The main longitudinal strip is designed so that its edge on the front side of the framing profile is removed from the connecting strip in the direction of the front side of the framing profile (i.e. the front edge of the main strip protrudes beyond the connecting strip on the front side of the framing profile, which forms a space (place) for the placement of the framing element).
[0015] The proposed embodiment of the claimed framing profile for a sliding door frame structure, in which, as described above, locking elements and supporting projections with contact surfaces are made on the inner surfaces of the longitudinal strips, and a connecting strip is also made, curved in the direction of the front side of the framing profile, ensures, when using the claimed utility model (in comparison with the prototype), a simplification of the installation work when installing the framing profile during the assembly of the sliding door, i.e. when connecting the claimed framing profile with the mating element of the frame structure, since:
[0016] when connecting the claimed framing profile structure with the mating element of the frame structure (starting profile), the locking connection is formed by snapping the mating locking elements on both sides of the framing profile, and the curved connecting strip ensures the elasticity of the connection with the additional strip, allowing the additional strip to be moved slightly away when installing (inserting) the frame structure element (namely, the front part of the starting profile) between the longitudinal strips,
[0017] while in the prototype, when performing installation work when installing the head of the frame structure element (starting profile) between the rear part of the main strip and the additional strip, it is necessary to perform (as indicated in the description of the prototype) a pressing operation (requiring the application of significant forces), allowing the tooth at the end of the rear part of the main strip to snap into engagement with the mating groove on the surface of the head of the frame structure element (starting profile), and in order to ensure the pressing of the additional strip of the framing profile to the mating surface of the head of the extended frame structure element, it is necessary to install a wall panel (as indicated in the description above) between the additional strip and the limiting projection.
[0018] The preferred design of the locking element of each of the longitudinal strips is one in which the locking element is made in cross-section in the form of a convex segment of a circle protruding into the space between the longitudinal strips, since such a shape ensures the easiest (simplest) snapping with the mating (made of the same shape) locking elements of the starting profile, forming a locking connection (of the "tongue and groove" type), in comparison with elements of a different shape, for example, rectangular, with notches at the end, etc. It should also be noted that such an implementation can simplify the performance of dismantling work (for example, if it is necessary to replace the framing profile).
[0019] In order to ensure a more reliable retention of the extended element of the frame structure (starting profile) between the longitudinal strips of the framing profile, an implementation can be proposed in which the locking element of the additional longitudinal strip is located opposite that part of the section of the inner surface of the main longitudinal strip between the locking element and the support projection, which is located closer to the support projection of the main longitudinal strip, since in this case the extended element of the frame structure (starting profile) is subjected to pressing forces from opposite sides and at points spaced from each other along the width of the longitudinal strips, which makes it possible to reduce the forces when inserting the extended element of the frame between the longitudinal strips (i.e., to further simplify the installation work).
[0020] A preferred embodiment of the connecting strip, which ensures optimal parameters of elasticity (which is necessary to reduce the forces when connecting the frame profile and the corresponding extended element of the frame structure of the sliding door) and rigidity (ensuring the operational reliability of the product), is such that the connecting strip is formed by two mating sections located at an angle to each other, one of which, the inclined section, is connected to the supporting projection of the main longitudinal strip, directed towards the front side of the frame profile and oriented with an inclination towards the additional longitudinal strip, and the other, the transverse section, is mated with the said inclined section, is located in the transverse direction and is connected to the front end of the additional longitudinal strip.
[0021] The preferred design of the contact surfaces of the support projections, which ensures the simplest positioning of the extended element of the frame structure (starting profile) when connected to the framing profile, is such that the surfaces of the support projections of the longitudinal strips, facing the rear side of the framing profile and ensuring the possibility of contact interaction with the mating surfaces of the extended element of the frame structure (starting profile), are located in the same plane and are perpendicular to the section of the inner surface of the main longitudinal strip between the locking element and the support projection.
[0022] The framing profile can be manufactured using the extrusion method, which is the most technologically advanced method for producing an extended profile structure, allowing the profile structure to be obtained in one technological operation, while the framing profile will be a monolithic part, which will improve its strength characteristics.
[0023] The graphic materials contain an example of a specific implementation of the claimed framing profile for a frame structure of a sliding door, the design of which provides the possibility of installing an element for framing the doorway - an extension.
[0024] Fig. 1 shows a schematic representation of the claimed framing profile, cross-section.
[0025] Fig. 2 shows a schematic representation of a fragment of the structure of a sliding door (assembled) with the declared framing profile installed and a framing element connected to it - an extension, viewed from above.

[0052] The framing profile (Fig. 1) is an extended product made of aluminum alloy by extrusion and contains two longitudinal strips located opposite each other - the main strip 1 and the additional strip 2. The inner surfaces 3 and 4 (respectively) of strips 1 and 2 face each other. The longitudinal strips 1 and 2 are connected to each other by means of a connecting strip 5, which is made curved in the direction of the front side A of the framing profile, from which the installation of the framing element (in the example shown - the extension) is provided. The rear side of the framing profile, from which its connection with the mating extended element of the frame structure of the sliding door (with the starting profile) is provided, is designated B. On the inner surface 3 of the main strip 1 along its rear edge (i.e.A locking element 6 is formed on the end of the strip 1, located on the rear side B of the framing profile, in the example shown, having the cross-sectional shape of a convex segment of a circle. Similarly, a locking element 7 is formed on the inner surface 4 of the additional strip 2 along its rear edge (located on the rear side B of the framing profile), also having the cross-sectional shape of a convex segment of a circle. On the inner surfaces 3 and 4 of the strips 1 and 2, respectively, supporting projections 8 and 9 are formed, located after the locking elements 6 and 7 in the direction of the front side A of the framing profile. Each of the supporting projections 8 and 9 has a contact surface 10 and 11 (respectively), facing the rear side B of the framing profile. In the example shown, surfaces 10 and 11 are located in the same plane and are perpendicular to the flat section of the inner surface 3 of the main longitudinal strip 1, located between the locking element 6 and the supporting projection 8, wherein the locking element 7 of the additional strip 2 is located opposite that part of the section of the inner surface 3 between the locking element 6 and the supporting projection 8, which is closer to the supporting projection 8. In the example shown, the connecting strip 5 is formed by two mating sections located at an angle to each other - an inclined section 12 and a flat transverse section 13. The inclined section 12 is connected to the supporting projection 8 of the main strip 1, is directed toward the front side A of the framing profile and is oriented with an inclination towards the additional strip 2, and the transverse section 13, mated with the inclined section 12, is located in the transverse direction and is connected to the front end of the additional strip 2.In this way, the connecting strip 5 connects the stop projection 8 of the main strip 1 and the front end of the additional strip 2. In this case, the main strip 1 is made so that its front edge projects beyond the connecting strip 5 from the front side A of the framing profile. In the presented example of a specific implementation of the framing profile, a limiting element (protrusion) 14 is made on the front end of the main strip 1, located in the direction of the plane of the additional strip 2. In this case, the space between the transverse section 13 of the connecting strip 5, the limiting projection 14 and the section of the inner surface 3 of the main longitudinal strip 1 located between them is intended for the installation of a framing element (facing) - an extension.
[0053] The claimed framing profile is one of the components of the sliding door structure and is intended for securing the framing element.
[0054] It should be noted that a decorative trim panel, such as a door frame trim, can be used as a door frame framing element (facing). The front wall of the frame profile can also serve as a framing element; when installed in a sliding door, it is positioned along the end of the doorway and covers the free space between the door leaf and the wall panel. The outer (finishing) surface of the front wall of the frame profile is designed for coating (e.g., plaster mortar followed by decorative painting).
[0055] After installing and securing the supporting elements of the frame - vertical and horizontal posts and beams, installing the guides for the door leaf, etc., the installation of the claimed framing profile is performed. In this case, the framing profile M is connected to the corresponding extended element K of the frame structure (starting profile), which in the given example of execution is a hollow box-shaped profile with a rectangular cross-section (Fig. 2). The rear part of the framing profile M is connected to the corresponding (front) part of the profile element of the frame structure K. In this case, the front part of the profile K should be located between the inner surfaces 3 and 4 of the longitudinal strips 1 and 2 of the framing profile M. The front end wall 15 of the profile K is positioned against the contact surfaces 10 and 11 of the support projections 8 and 9.It is preferable that surfaces 10 and 11 are located in one plane, perpendicular to the flat section of the inner surface 3 between the locking element 6 and the supporting projection 8. Due to the connection of longitudinal strips 1 and 2 with the help of a connecting strip 5, made curved (as described above) in the direction towards the front side A of the framing profile M, the additional longitudinal strip 2 will have the ability to slightly spring when connecting the framing profile M with the counter profile K (namely, when installing the front part of the profile K between the longitudinal strips 1 and 2 of the framing profile M), when the protruding locking elements 6 and 7 of the longitudinal strips 1 and 2 are inserted into the counter locking elements 16 and 17, made on the side walls 18 and 19 of the profile K and having the shape of corresponding recesses. The connection of profile M with profile K is carried out as follows: first, when profile M is inclined relative to profile K, the protruding locking element 7 of profile M is engaged with the mating locking element (recess) 17 of profile K, then, by performing a turning movement, the protruding locking element 6 of profile M is engaged with the mating locking element (recess) 16 of profile K (in this case, connecting strip 5 and additional strip 2 will spring slightly). The locking elements, having snapped, will create a locking connection, fixing the position of framing profile M relative to the extended profile element K of the frame structure, while the possibility of contact (contact interaction) of the front end wall 15 of profile K with contact surfaces 10 and 11 (located in the same plane) will ensure simple and precise positioning of profile M relative to the extended profile element K of the frame. It should be noted that the connection of the framing profile M with the corresponding profile element K of the frame structure is carried out with minimal force. After connecting the profile M with the profile K, the extension D is installed, inserting it from the front side of the profile M (along the arrow f) into the cavity delimited by the transverse section 13 of the connecting strip 5, the limiting projection 14, and the section of the inner surface 3 of the main strip 1 located between them. Additional fixation of the extension to the strip 5 using several self-tapping screws is possible.
[0056] Thus, the proposed design of the framing profile ensures (in comparison with the prototype) simplification of the installation work when installing the framing profile in the structure of a sliding door when it is connected to the mating element of the frame structure (starting profile).
