Abstract
Description
CROSS REFERENCE TO RELATED APPLICATIONS
[0001] This application claims the benefit of U.S. Provisional Application No. 63 / 539,484, filed on Sep. 20, 2023. The entire teachings of the above applications are incorporated herein by reference.FIELD OF THE INVENTION
[0002] The present invention relates generally to the field of dog waste collection, and more particularly to methods and systems for dog waste bag dispensingBACKGROUND
[0003] When walking one's pet it is common to bring a device that holds pre-rolled waste bags, such as shown in U.S. Pat. No. 7,850,039B1, in order to pick up one's pet's excrement while on a walk.
[0004] The state of the current art is similar to that of U.S. Pat. No. 8,113,381B2, wherein small lightweight devices are added to one's existing leash that hold a roll of waste bags.
[0005] These small lightweight devices generally only serve one function, which is to hold the unused waste bags. During a walk, one may need several different supplies or functions to aid in walking their dog, such as, but not limited to holding used bags, holding treats, and holding additional unused bags. Therefore, it is useful to have a device that can offer multiple functions.
[0006] While some solutions do exist, they go towards the extreme of full leash organization assemblies, like US20210227794A1, wherein a large bulky assembly is rigidly mounted to an existing leash and contains many features in addition to waste bag storage, like a holding area for treats. For one walking their pet, adding a large clunky device to their leash will oftentimes be a dealbreaker and it would be easier to just grab some bags, treats, and anything else that an organization device would hold and put them in one's pockets. Additionally, every user is different and may not need some of the features offered by the large organization tools.
[0007] Therefore, there exists a need for a lightweight modular system that can let the user decide which functions to add to their waste bag holder.SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION
[0008] The present invention can provide a mechanism that allows modular attachments to be attached and removed from a waste bag holder.
[0009] The waste bag holder can include a series of overhangs, gaps, and hooks to allow for modular attachments to attach to.
[0010] The modular attachments can be comprised of snap fits, press fits, and extrusions that connect with the mating features on the waste bag holder.
[0011] In some embodiments, the modular attachments can be made of rigid materials such as plastics, metals, and composites.
[0012] In some embodiments, the modular attachments can be made of flexible materials such as fabrics, cloth, silicone, and rubber.
[0013] In some embodiments, the waste bag holder attachment area can be made of rigid materials such as plastics, metals, and composites.
[0014] In some embodiments, the waste bag holder attachment area can be made of flexible materials such as fabrics, cloth, silicone, and rubber.BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF DRAWINGS
[0015] The foregoing will be apparent from the following more particular description of example embodiments, as illustrated in the accompanying drawings in which like reference characters refer to the same parts throughout the different views. The drawings are not necessarily to scale, emphasis instead being placed upon illustrating embodiments.
[0016] FIG. 1 is an isometric view of an embodiment of the mechanism showing the attachment and holder un-joined.
[0017] FIG. 2 is a top down view of an embodiment of the mechanism showing the attachment and holder un-joined.
[0018] FIG. 3 is an isometric view of an embodiment of the mechanism showing the attachment and holder joined.
[0019] FIG. 4 is a top down view of an embodiment of the mechanism showing the attachment and holder joined.A DETAILED DESCRIPTION
[0020] Details of some embodiments of the apparatus in the present invention are described below
[0021] Referring to FIG. 1, in some embodiments of the mechanism there may be a modular attachment 1 which contains a sliding fit feature 2 and a clip feature 3. There may be corresponding features on the holder that form a channel from surfaces 4 and 5, along with a clip face 6.
[0022] Referring to FIG. 2, in some embodiments of the mechanism there may be a modular attachment which contains a clipping feature 8 that can be operated by a user with the lever 3. The surface 7 of this attachment may line up with a channel feature 5 of the holder.
[0023] Referring to FIG. 3, in some embodiments of the mechanism there may be a modular attachment containing a snap feature 8 that connects to a holder through the hook feature 6. This attachment may have a lever 3 that can be pressed in by a user to allow the modular attachment to be removed from the holder
[0024] Referring to FIG. 4, in some embodiments of the mechanism there may be a modular attachment containing a snap feature 8 that connects to a holder through the hook feature. This attachment may have a lever 3 that can be pressed in by a user to allow the modular attachment to be removed from the holder
