Abstract

A garment apparatus for use by medical professionals. The medical jumpsuit scrub is an all-in-one medical scrub. It is designed comparable to a one-piece jumpsuit; it protects the wearer from the work elements while maintaining the medical scrub aesthetic. The medical jumpsuit scrub has an assortment of functional storage pockets providing the availability of pockets and other features.

[0004] The present invention relates generally to the field of garments and more specifically relates to medical garments.2. Description of the Related Art

[0005] Garments are worn to protect the wearer from the elements and to provide functional and aesthetic use. Some garments are designed primarily with fashion in mind. Other garments and clothing are more functional by nature. It is desirable to provide a comfortable, functional, aesthetic, and effective garment for use by medical professionals that is efficient in use.

[0006] Various attempts have been made to solve the above-mentioned problems such as those found in U.S. Pub. No. 2015 / 0374048 to Christian Theodossiou. This art is representative of garments for medical use. None of the above inventions and patents, taken either singly or in combination, is seen to describe the invention as claimed.

[0007] Ideally, a medical jumpsuit scrub should provide a garment to be used in medical situations and yet would operate reliably and be manufactured at a modest expense. Thus, a need exists for a reliable medical jumpsuit scrub system to avoid the above-mentioned problems.BRIEF SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION

[0008] In view of the foregoing disadvantages inherent in the known medical garment art, the present invention provides a novel medical jumpsuit scrub. The general purpose of the present invention, which will be described subsequently in greater detail is to provide a medical jumpsuit scrub system for efficient and effective use.

[0009] The medical jumpsuit scrub is an all-in-one medical scrub. It protects the wearer from the work elements while maintaining the medical scrub aesthetic. The medical jumpsuit scrub features an assortment of functional storage pockets providing the availability of pockets; a top concern of medical professionals. The medical jumpsuit scrub preferably features thirteen pockets on the jumpsuit itself with an additional five pockets when combined with the jacket. The pockets vary in size and utility. Below the waist, the jumpsuit preferably features two regular pants pockets, two medium size cargo pockets on the right thigh, and one large cargo pocket on the left thigh. The torso area features eight pockets. Further it comprises two large belly pockets, two medium belly pouch pockets, two chest pockets, and two arm cargo pockets. The jacket has five pockets in total: the large chest pocket, two large belly pockets, and two small cargo pockets on the upper arm. Other embodiments may have different numbers and combinations of pockets. The suit may be one-, two- or multi-piece assembly. The medical jumpsuit scrub comes in several embodiments to fit the desired style of the user. As designed, the medical jumpsuit scrub is desirable for use by medical professionals.

[0010] A preferred embodiment of the present medical jumpsuit scrub system is also disclosed herein preferably comprising: a garment body defined by an outer protective surface, an inner surface, and an inner volume; wherein the outer protective surface is flexible and acts in a capacity of a skin; and wherein the garment body comprises a one-piece jumpsuit (more than one in alternate embodiments, one being preferable because of the higher integrity not having as many entry points for fluids to compromise, etc.) suitable for use while performing medical tasks and protects a wearer from work elements while indicating its functional utility as a medical scrub aesthetic. In this embodiment the outer protective surface of the garment body comprises at least one pocket; wherein the at least one pocket comprises an interior cavity; the interior cavity is able to be accessed and alternately restricted from entry via the flap (which rotates about an attached axis to the outer protective surface).

[0011] The at least one pocket comprises two or more of the at least one pockets suitable for removably containing an item; wherein the item typically comprises a medical-treatment-item (non-medical items can be stored and used therefrom as desired). The at least one pocket may be torso-placed and alternately non-torso-placed. Some embodiments have the least one pocket vertically oriented and alternately horizontally oriented (or a combination thereof) relative to and substantially parallel to the wearer, when worn. Pockets may be put in any desired location for ease of insertion or removal of items conveniently and reliably. The at least one pocket is located on an exterior of the outer protective surface; wherein the at least one pocket is located on a front and a side of the exterior of the outer protective surface, but not a back of the outer protective surface.

[0012] A method of using a medical jumpsuit scrub system is described herein comprising the steps of: step one providing the medical jumpsuit scrub system having a garment body defined by an outer protective surface, an inner surface, and an inner volume; wherein the outer protective surface is flexible; and wherein the garment body comprises a one-piece jumpsuit suitable for use while performing medical tasks and protects a wearer from work elements while indicating its functional utility as a medical scrub aesthetic (as described above); step two donning the garment body for wear, wherein the functional utility is readily recognizable and saves time during emergency situations; and step three removably inserting medical-treatment-items as needed during the emergency situations. The method may further comprise the step four of discarding the present invention after one use (single-use embodiment) and alternately cleaning and re-using said garment body (multiple-use embodiment).

[0022] As discussed above, embodiments of the present invention relate to a medical garment and more particularly to a medical jumpsuit scrub system as used to improve the functionality of comfortable garments for medical use.

[0023] Referring to the drawings by numerals of reference there is shown in FIGS. 1-6, a medical jumpsuit scrub system is shown with the following components: medical jumpsuit scrub 1; pockets 2; jacket 3; zipper 4 (fastening means with teeth or other suitable equivalent); drawstring 5; and also shown is human figure (wearer) 6.

[0024] Generally speaking, the medical jumpsuit scrub is an all-in-one medical scrub 1. The medical scrub 1 is designed comparable to a one-piece jumpsuit; it protects the wearer 6 from the work elements while maintaining the medical scrub aesthetic. The medical jumpsuit scrub 1 features an assortment of functional storage pockets 2 providing the availability of pockets 2; a top concern of medical professionals. The medical jumpsuit scrub 1 preferably features thirteen pockets 2 on the jumpsuit itself with an additional five pockets 2 when combined with the jacket 3. The pockets 2 vary in size and utility. Below the waist, the jumpsuit preferably features two regular pants pockets 2, two medium size cargo pockets 2 on the right thigh, and one large cargo pocket 2 on the left thigh. The torso area features eight pockets 2. Further it comprises two large belly pockets 2, two medium belly pouch pockets 2, two chest pockets 2, and two arm cargo pockets 2. The jacket has five pockets 2 in total in preferred embodiments; the large chest pocket 2, two large belly pockets 2, and two small cargo pockets 2 on the upper arm.

[0025] The medical jumpsuit scrub 1 comes in several embodiments to fit the desired style of the user (wearer 6). The variants may comprise of long or short sleeves, button-up or zip-up closures zipper 4, drawstring or yoga style waistbands, and many popular color variations. The medical jumpsuit scrub 1 effectively prevents embarrassing exposure when bending over or kneeling since it is a one-piece article of clothing. The medical jumpsuit scrub 1 covers and conceals. The medical jumpsuit scrub 1 features a button-up or zip-up shirt section. This allows for easy use of the bathroom by opening up the shirt section. For male variants, the medical jumpsuit scrub 1 also may comprise a pants zipper 4 (zip connecting means) for easy access when using the bathroom. The medical jumpsuit scrub 1 is preferably made of machine-washable material, allowing for easy maintenance and use. As designed, the medical jumpsuit scrub 1 is desirable for use by medical professionals.

[0026] The medical jumpsuit scrub system (in a one-piece version) comprises: a garment body defined by an outer protective surface, an inner surface, and an inner volume; wherein the outer protective surface is flexible; and wherein the garment body comprises a one-piece jumpsuit scrub 1 suitable for use while performing medical tasks and protects a wearer 6 from work elements while indicating its functional utility as a medical scrub aesthetic. Closure may be via any suitable means such as for example, hook and loop, buttons, snaps, ties or the like. The at least one pocket 2 comprises two or more of the at least one pockets 2 suitable for removably containing an item. The item may comprise a medical-treatment-item or a non-medical-item. For example an item may comprise a bandage, a pen, a needle, gloves or the like.

The at least one pocket 2 may be horizontally oriented relative to and substantially parallel to the wearer 6, when worn. The at least one pocket 2 of the medical jumpsuit scrub system may be located on an exterior of the outer protective surface on a front of the exterior of the outer protective surface or on a side of the exterior of the outer protective surface. The at least one pocket 2 is not located on a back of the exterior of the outer protective surface. The at least one pocket 2 is located on the side of the exterior of the outer protective surface; the at least one pocket adjacent an arm of the wearer 6 as shown. The at least one pocket 2 is located on the front of the exterior of the outer protective surface; the at least one pocket 2 adjacent a leg of the wearer 6.

The method may further comprise the step four of discarding the present invention after one use (single-use embodiment) and alternately cleaning and re-using said garment body (multiple-use embodiment).

Claims

1. A medical jumpsuit scrub system comprising:a garment body defined byan outer protective surface,an inner surface, andan inner volume;wherein said outer protective surface is flexible; andwherein said garment body comprises a one-piece jumpsuit suitable for use while performing medical tasks and protects a wearer from work elements while indicating its functional utility as a medical scrub aesthetic.

2. The medical jumpsuit scrub system of claim 1 wherein said outer protective surface of said garment body comprises at least one pocket.

3. The medical jumpsuit scrub system of claim 2 wherein said at least one pocket comprises an interior cavity.

4. The medical jumpsuit scrub system of claim 3 wherein said interior cavity is able to be accessed via a flap.

5. The medical jumpsuit scrub system of claim 3 wherein said interior cavity is able to be restricted from entry via said flap.

6. The medical jumpsuit scrub system of claim 4 wherein said at least one pocket comprises two or more of said at least one pockets suitable for removably containing an item.

7. The medical jumpsuit scrub system of claim 6 wherein said item comprises a medical-treatment-item.

8. The medical jumpsuit scrub system of claim 7 wherein said at least one pocket is torso-placed.

9. The medical jumpsuit scrub system of claim 7 wherein said at least one pocket is non-torso-placed.

10. The medical jumpsuit scrub system of claim 8 wherein said at least one pocket is vertically oriented relative to and substantially parallel to said wearer, when worn.

11. The medical jumpsuit scrub system of claim 9 wherein said at least one pocket is horizontally oriented relative to and substantially parallel to said wearer, when worn.

12. The medical jumpsuit scrub system of claim 1 wherein said at least one pocket is located on an exterior of said outer protective surface.

13. The medical jumpsuit scrub system of claim 12 wherein said at least one pocket is located on a front of said exterior of said outer protective surface.

14. The medical jumpsuit scrub system of claim 12 wherein said at least one pocket is located on a side of said exterior of said outer protective surface.

15. The medical jumpsuit scrub system of claim 12 wherein said at least one pocket is not located on a back of said exterior of said outer protective surface.

16. The medical jumpsuit scrub system of claim 14 wherein said at least one pocket is located on said side of said exterior of said outer protective surface, said at least one pocket adjacent an arm of said wearer.

17. The medical jumpsuit scrub system of claim 13 wherein said at least one pocket is located on said front of said exterior of said outer protective surface, said at least one pocket adjacent a leg of said wearer.

18. A medical jumpsuit scrub system comprising:a garment body defined byan outer protective surface,an inner surface, andan inner volume;wherein said outer protective surface is flexible and acts in a capacity of a skin; andwherein said garment body comprises a one-piece jumpsuit suitable for use while performing medical tasks and protects a wearer from work elements while indicating its functional utility as a medical scrub aesthetic;wherein said outer protective surface of said garment body comprises at least one pocket;wherein said at least one pocket comprises an interior cavity;wherein said interior cavity is able to be accessed and alternately restricted from entry via said flap;wherein said at least one pocket comprises two or more of said at least one pockets suitable for removably containing an item;wherein said item comprises a medical-treatment-item;wherein said at least one pocket is torso-placed and alternately non-torso-placed;wherein said at least one pocket is vertically oriented and alternately horizontally oriented relative to and substantially parallel to said wearer, when worn;wherein said at least one pocket is located on an exterior of said outer protective surface; andwherein said at least one pocket is located on a front and a side of said exterior of said outer protective surface, but not a back of said outer protective surface.

19. A method of using a medical jumpsuit scrub system comprising the steps of:providing said medical jumpsuit scrub system having:a garment body defined byan outer protective surface,an inner surface, andan inner volume;wherein said outer protective surface is flexible; andwherein said garment body comprises a one-piece jumpsuit suitable for use while performing medical tasks and protects a wearer from work elements while indicating its functional utility as a medical scrub aesthetic;donning said garment body for wear, wherein said functional utility is readily recognizable and saves time during emergency situations; andremovably inserting medical-treatment-items as needed during said emergency situations.

20. The method of claim 19 further comprising the step of:discarding after one use and alternately cleaning and re-using said garment body.
