Furthermore, multiple systems may be combined (for example, a combination of LTE or LTE-A with 5G).

[0140] In the disclosed embodiments, multiple carriers of terminal 101 can have the same or different cell DTX or DRX configurations. Network device 102 can also use multicast downlink control information (DCI) to dynamically activate or deactivate cell DTX or DRX for one or more carriers for terminal 101. Cell DTX or DRX is initiated only after network device 102 activates cell DTX or DRX for the terminal on a carrier. Cell DTX or DRX is deactivated only after the base station deactivates cell DTX or DRX for the terminal on a carrier.

[0141] In an embodiment of the present disclosure, a method is provided for instructing multiple terminals 101 to activate or deactivate cell DTX or DRX of multiple carriers.

[0142] Figure 2a is an interactive diagram of a method for configuring indication information according to an embodiment of the present disclosure. As shown in Figure 2a, the embodiment of the present disclosure relates to a method for configuring indication information, the method comprising:

[0143] Step S2101: The network device 102 sends fourth information to the first terminal 101.

[0144] It can be understood that the terminal in the communication system in FIG1 may be the first terminal 101 .

[0145] In some embodiments, the fourth information may be indication information or configuration information.

[0146] Optionally, the network device 102 sends the fourth information by sending Radio Resource Control (RRC) signaling.

[0147] Optionally, the network device 102 sends the fourth information to different terminals 101, or sends the fourth information only to the first terminal 101, or the first terminal 101 can be used to refer to different terminals or any one of multiple terminals.

[0148] In some embodiments, the fourth information is used to indicate the position of the second information corresponding to the terminal 101 in the third information.

[0149] In some embodiments, the third information includes one or more of the second information.

[0150] Optionally, each second information may correspond to one or more terminals 101, and the one or more terminals 101 include the first terminal. The terminal 101 may learn the position of the second information corresponding to itself in the third information according to the fourth information.

[0151] Optionally, the structures of the second information and the third information may also be shown in FIG2b.

[0152] In some embodiments, the second information is used to indicate whether to activate or deactivate the discontinuous transmission and reception mode of the carrier configured by one or more terminals 101.

[0153] Optionally, the discontinuous transmission and reception mode is at least one of the following:

[0154] DTX mode (DTX on-off pattern);

[0155] DRX mode (DRX on-off pattern).

[0156] Optionally, each terminal 101 may be configured with at least one carrier, and each carrier may be configured with a discontinuous transmission and reception mode. For example, each carrier may be configured with a DTX mode, or a DRX mode, or both.

[0157] Optionally, the discontinuous transceiver mode may be aperiodic or periodic.

[0158] For example, for a non-periodic discontinuous transmission and reception mode, the network device 102 may dynamically indicate a time domain parameter of an active period of the discontinuous transmission and reception mode.

[0159] For another example, for a periodic discontinuous transceiver mode, the network device 102 may configure the time domain parameters of the periodic discontinuous transceiver mode for each carrier of the terminal 101 through UE-specific signaling (UE specific). A period of a discontinuous transceiver mode may include a first time period and a second time period. The first time period refers to a time period during which the network device 102 is in normal data transmission and reception, that is, an active period (active period), and the first time period may also be referred to as an on duration or an on period; the second time period refers to a time period during which the network device 102 may not perform partial data transmission and reception, that is, a non-active period (non-active period), and the second time period may also be referred to as an off duration or an off period. It will be understood that in a period of a discontinuous transceiver mode, in addition to the first time period, the active period may also include other time periods, for example, the active period includes: the first time period and the operating time period of a specific timer. The specific timer may, for example, include a retransmission-related timer running in the period.

[0160] In one example, a DTX mode cycle includes a DTX-on period and a DTX-off period. During the DTX-on period, the network device 102 can normally send downlink channels, and during the DTX-off period, the network device 102 can not send part of the downlink channels to achieve energy saving of the network device. In this example, referring to the periodic DTX mode shown in Figure 2c, the network device 102 can configure at least one of the following time domain parameters of the cell DTX mode: period, time domain offset, duration of the DTX on period, and duration of the DTX off period. In this example, the behavior of the network device 102 in the DTX mode cycle may affect the reception behavior of the user device 101. For example, the user device 101 may not receive part of the downlink channels during the DTX-off period.

[0161] In another example, a DRX mode cycle includes a DRX-on period and a DRX-off period. During the DRX-on period, the network device 102 can normally receive uplink channels, and during the DRX-off period, the network device 102 may not receive some uplink channels to achieve energy saving of the network device. In this example, the network device 102 can configure at least one of the following time domain parameters of the DRX mode: cycle, time domain offset, duration of the DRX-on period, and duration of the DRX-off period. In this example, the behavior of the network device 102 in the DRX cycle may affect the transmission behavior of the user device 101. For example, the user device 101 can suspend transmission or not transmit some uplink channels during the DRX-off period.

[0162] Optionally, the network device 102 may configure time domain parameters related to the discontinuous transmission and reception mode in units of carriers or cells, where a carrier may also be understood as a cell. The DTX or DRX configuration is common to the cell.

[0163] In some embodiments, a terminal 101 such as the first terminal 101 receives the fourth information.

[0164] It is worth noting that the “plurality” involved in the embodiments of the present disclosure may be two or more.

[0165] Step S2102 , the network device 102 sends first information to the first terminal 101 .

[0166] In some embodiments, the first information is used to indicate: a position of an indicator bit corresponding to each carrier in at least one carrier configured by the terminal 101 , in the second information corresponding to the terminal 101 .

[0167] Optionally, the position is, for example, a bit position or a bit index in the second information.

[0168] Optionally, the network device 102 sends the first information to different terminals 101, or sends the first information only to the first terminal 101, or the first terminal 101 can be used to refer to any terminal among multiple terminals.

[0169] In some embodiments, the second information includes at least one indication bit, and the second information is used to indicate whether to activate or deactivate the discontinuous transmission and reception mode of the carrier configured by one or more terminals 101.

[0170] Optionally, the one or more terminals 101 include a first terminal 101 .

[0171] Optionally, each indicator bit may occupy 1 or 2 bits. When the bit value of the indicator bit corresponds to a specific value, it indicates that the discontinuous transmission and reception mode of the corresponding carrier of the terminal 101 is activated. In the case where each indicator bit occupies 1 bit, the 1 bit can be used to indicate whether the cell DTX mode and / or cell DRX mode of the corresponding carrier is activated; it can be understood that when the carrier is configured with cell DTX mode and cell DRX mode at the same time, when the 1 bit is a specific value, it can indicate that the cell DTX mode and cell DRX mode of the carrier are activated at the same time. In the case where each indicator bit contains 2 bits, 1 bit of the 2 bits is used to indicate the activation or deactivation of the cell DTX mode of the corresponding carrier, and the other bit of the 2 bits is used to indicate the activation or deactivation of the cell DTX mode of the corresponding carrier.

[0172] In some embodiments, the number of indicator bits included in the second information is a first number M, the number of carriers configured for the first terminal corresponding to the second information is a second number N, the first number M is greater than or equal to the second number N, and one or more terminals include the first terminal.

[0173] It can be understood that, in combination with the description of the foregoing embodiments, the second information may correspond to one or more terminals, that is, it may indicate whether the discontinuous transmission and reception mode of the carrier configured by one or more terminals is activated or deactivated. The one or more terminals may include a first terminal, a second terminal, a third terminal, etc., and the first terminal is used to refer to any one of the one or more terminals.

[0174] In one example, assuming that each indicator bit occupies one bit, the first terminal 101 is configured with N carriers, and the second information includes M indicator bits, where M ≥ N. The M indicator bits include N indicator bits corresponding one-to-one to the N carriers. Among the N indicator bits, a bit value of 1 indicates that the discontinuous transmission and reception mode of the carrier corresponding to the indicator bit is activated; a bit value of 0 indicates that the discontinuous transmission and reception mode of the carrier corresponding to the indicator bit is deactivated.

[0175] In this example, the second information may further indicate other carriers other than the N carriers, such as indicating whether the discontinuous transmission and reception mode of the carriers configured for other terminals 101 is activated.

[0176] In another example, when each indicator bit occupies 2 bits, the second information may include 2*M indicator bits. The first terminal 101 is configured with N carriers. Taking the indicator bit corresponding to the Nth carrier as an example, when the value of the first bit in the indicator bit is 1, it indicates that the cell DTX mode of the Nth carrier is activated, and when the value of the first bit is 0, it indicates that the cell DRX mode of the Nth carrier is deactivated; when the value of the second bit in the indicator bit is 1, it indicates that the cell DRX mode of the Nth carrier is activated, and when the value of the second bit is 0, it indicates that the cell DRX mode of the Nth carrier is deactivated.

[0177] In some embodiments, the number of bits included in the first information is a third number M', and the third number is equal to the first number, ie, M'=M.

[0178] Optionally, the number of bits in the first information may be the same as the number of bits included in the second information, and the bits in the first information correspond one-to-one to the bits in the second information.

[0179] In some embodiments, the position of the indication bit of at least one carrier in the second information is indicated by the position of the bit with the first value in the first information, and the at least one carrier corresponds to the bit with the first value.

[0180] For example, at least one carrier corresponds one-to-one to bits having the first value.

[0181] Optionally, the network device may send corresponding first information to each terminal, where the bits with the first value in the first information correspond one-to-one to at least one carrier configured for the terminal.

[0182] Optionally, the first value may be 1. Among the M' bits of the first information, the bit with a bit value of 1 corresponds to the carrier of the terminal 101, and the position of the bit with a bit value of 1 in the M' bits may be mapped to the position of the indicator bit of the carrier of the terminal 101 in the M bits of the second information.

[0183] In one example, the first information includes 4 bits (M'=4), and the second information includes 4 bits (M=4). When the 4 bits of the first information are 0110, it indicates that the indicator bits corresponding to the carrier of the first terminal 101 are the 2nd and 3rd bits in the second information. Assuming that the 4 bits of the second information are 0100, it indicates that the discontinuous transmission and reception mode of the carrier corresponding to the 2nd bit is activated, and the discontinuous transmission and reception mode of the carrier corresponding to the 3rd bit is deactivated.

[0184] In some embodiments, the positions of the indicator bits corresponding to the N carriers configured for terminal 101 may also be defined through a protocol. For example, the positions of the indicator bits corresponding to the N carriers for first terminal 101 may be defined through a protocol as the first N bits in the second information corresponding to first terminal 101. It will be appreciated that this embodiment requires that when multiple terminals 101 in a cell perform carrier aggregation (CA) configuration, they always attempt to configure the same set of carriers. In these embodiments, load balancing across multiple carriers is generally achieved.

[0185] In some embodiments, the number of bits in the first information whose bit value is the first value is a fourth number, and the fourth number is equal to the second number.

[0186] Optionally, the fourth quantity is recorded as N', and the fourth quantity N'=the second quantity N.

[0187] In some embodiments, the first information may be sent via higher layer signaling or physical layer signaling.

[0188] For example, the network device 102 sends RRC signaling or Media Access Control Control Element (MAC CE) signaling to the terminal 101, where the RRC signaling or MAC CE signaling includes the first information.

[0189] In some embodiments, the network device 102 may send the first information and the fourth information through the same signaling.

[0190] Step S2103 , the network device 102 sends third information to the first terminal 101 .

[0191] In some embodiments, the third information includes one or more of the second information.

[0192] Optionally, each second information may be used to indicate whether the discontinuous transmission and reception mode of the carrier configured for at least one terminal 101 is activated or deactivated.

[0193] Optionally, the second information may be indication information.

[0194] In some embodiments, in one or more second information included in the third information, different second information may contain the same or different numbers of bits.

[0195] In one example, the third information, such as DCI, includes two second information. The first second information includes eight indication bits, which may occupy eight bits (M=8) and may indicate whether the discontinuous transmission and reception mode of eight carriers is activated. The second indication information includes four indication bits, which may occupy four bits (M=4) and may indicate whether the discontinuous transmission and reception mode of four carriers is activated.

[0196] In this example, the first indication information may correspond to the first terminal, or to the first terminal and the second terminal, and the second indication information may correspond to the third terminal, or to the third terminal and the fourth terminal.

[0197] In some embodiments, the carriers corresponding to different second information are completely identical, partially identical, or completely different.

[0198] For example, in combination with the above example, the first indication information corresponds to 8 carriers, the second indication information corresponds to 4 carriers, and the 4 carriers may be the same as some of the 8 carriers. For another example, the third indication information corresponds to 4 carriers, and the 4 carriers may be completely identical to or completely different from the 4 carriers corresponding to the second indication information.

[0199] In some embodiments, the third information may be a multicast DCI.

[0200] Optionally, the network device 102 sends the third information to one or more terminals 101 by sending a multicast DCI.

[0201] In some embodiments, the terminal 101, such as the first terminal 101, receives the third information.

[0202] Step S2104: The first terminal 101 determines the position of the second information corresponding to the first terminal 101 in the third information based on the fourth information.

[0203] In some embodiments, the terminal 101 obtains the position of the second information corresponding to itself in the third information based on the fourth information, so as to facilitate demodulation of the second information corresponding to itself.

[0204] Step S2105: The first terminal 101 determines, based on the first information, a position of the indicator bit corresponding to each carrier in the second information corresponding to the first terminal.

[0205] In some embodiments, the terminal 101 obtains, based on the first information, a position of an indicator bit corresponding to each carrier in at least one configured carrier in the second information corresponding to the terminal 101 , to facilitate demodulation of the indicator bit corresponding to each carrier.

[0206] In step S2106 , the first terminal 101 determines whether to activate the discontinuous transmission and reception mode of each carrier according to the indicator bit corresponding to each carrier.

[0207] In some embodiments, still taking the aforementioned indicator bit occupying 1 bit as an example, when the bit value is 1, it indicates that the discontinuous transmission and reception mode of the carrier corresponding to the bit is activated, and when the bit value is 0, it indicates that the discontinuous transmission and reception mode of the carrier corresponding to the bit is deactivated.

In addition, the network device 102 can send the first information to multiple terminals 101 via multicast DCI. By configuring the multicast DCI, the DCI can indicate the activation or deactivation status of cell DTX / DRX for multiple terminals 101 in a cell with as few bits as possible, each terminal being configured with multiple carriers, thereby saving signaling resources.

[0331] In some embodiments, different second information contain the same or different numbers of bits.

[0332] In some embodiments, the carriers corresponding to different second information are completely identical, partially identical, or completely different.

[0333] In some embodiments, the number of indicator bits included in the second information is a first number, the number of carriers configured for the first terminal is a second number, and the first number is greater than or equal to the second number.

[0334] In some embodiments, the first information includes a third number of bits, and the third number is equal to the first number.

[0335] In some embodiments, the first terminal determines the position of the indicator bit corresponding to at least one carrier in the second information based on the position of the bit whose bit value is the first value in the first information.

[0336] Optionally, the number of bits in the first information whose bit value is the first value is a fourth number, and the fourth number is equal to the second number.

[0337] To facilitate understanding of the embodiments of the present disclosure, some specific examples are listed below:

[0338] Example 1:

[0339] The base station indicates, for the UE, bit positions of the N carriers corresponding to the UE in the first indication information corresponding to the UE.

[0340] The first indication information includes multiple bits, where the multiple bits correspond to activation or deactivation indications of cell DTX / DRX of M carriers respectively. M>=N.

[0341] For example, the first indication information may have M bits, and each bit corresponds to one carrier among the M carriers; for another example, the first indication information may have 2*M bits, and every 2 bits correspond to one carrier among the M carriers.

[0342] In some embodiments, the first indication information corresponds to the second information in the aforementioned embodiments.

[0343] Example 2:

[0344] The base station sends the bit positions of the N carriers in the first indication information to the UE through high-layer signaling (such as RRC signaling or MAC CE) or physical layer signaling.

[0345] Optionally, Example 2 is performed based on Example 1.

[0346] Example 3:

[0347] The base station indicates the position information of the N carriers in the first indication information in a bitmap manner.

[0348] For example, the bitmap contains M bits, where bit=1 indicates that the carrier corresponding to the bit is the carrier corresponding to the UE, and bit=0 indicates that the carrier corresponding to the bit is not the carrier corresponding to the UE. Since the UE has a total of N carriers, the number of bits=1 in the bitmap information should be N.

[0349] Optionally, Example 3 is performed based on Example 1 or Example 2.

[0350] Example 4:

[0351] The DCI sent by the base station to the terminal for indicating cell DTX / DRX activation or deactivation includes one or more first indication information. The base station configures the position of the first indication information corresponding to the UE in the one or more first indication information.

[0352] Optionally, the number of bits (bitsize) included in the multiple first indication information may be different.

[0353] Optionally, the M carriers corresponding to different first indication information may be the same, partially the same, or completely different.

[0354] Example 5:

[0355] The bit positions corresponding to the N carriers defined by the protocol for a UE are the first N bits in the first indication information corresponding to the UE. This example requires that when multiple UEs in a cell are configured for Carrier Availability (CA), they should always be configured with the same carrier set as much as possible. This may result in unbalanced load across multiple carriers.

[0356] Based on any of the above examples, during implementation, two specific examples are listed below:

[0357] In the first specific example:

[0358] The DCI used to indicate cell DTX / DRX activation or deactivation includes one first indication information.

[0359] The first indication information includes activation or deactivation information of 8 (M=8) carriers in total. The first indication information is 11001110, which means that among the 8 carriers, the 1st, 2nd, 5th, 6th and 7th carriers are activated for cell DTX / DRX, while the 3rd, 4th and 8th carriers are not activated for cell DTX / DRX.

[0360] Both UE1 and UE2 in the cell correspond to the first indication information. UE1 is configured with 4 (N1=4) service carriers, corresponding to the 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th carriers among the 8 carriers respectively; UE2 is configured with 6 (N2=6) carriers, corresponding to the 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th, 6th and 7th carriers among the 8 carriers respectively.

[0361] In this example, the base station indicates to UE1 that the bit positions of its four corresponding carriers in the first indication are 11110000, and the base station indicates to UE2 that the bit positions of its six corresponding carriers in the first indication are 01111110. UE1 uses this bit position information to know that the cell DTX / DRX activation status of its four corresponding carriers is 1100, meaning that, of its four serving carriers, the first and second carriers are activated, while the third and fourth carriers are not activated. (The same applies to UE2.)

[0362] In the second specific example:

[0363] The DCI used to indicate cell DTX / DRX activation or deactivation includes two pieces of first indication information.

[0364] The first first indication information includes activation or deactivation information of 8 (M1=8) carriers in total, and the first first indication information is 11001110. The second first indication information includes activation / deactivation information of 4 (M2=4) carriers in total, and the second first indication information is 0110.

[0365] The base station configures UE1 and UE2 in the cell to correspond to the first first indication information, and the base station configures UE3 and UE4 in the cell to correspond to the second first indication information.

[0366] In this example, UE1 is configured with 8 (N1=8) service carriers, corresponding to all carriers of the 8 carriers corresponding to the first first indication information, and UE2 is configured with 6 (N2=6) carriers, corresponding to the 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th, 6th and 7th carriers of the 8 carriers corresponding to the first first indication information.

[0367] The base station indicates to UE1 that the bit positions of its corresponding eight carriers in the first indication information are 11111111, and the base station indicates to UE2 that the bit positions of its corresponding six carriers in the first indication information are 011111110. UE1 learns from this bit position information that the cell DTX / DRX activation status of its corresponding eight carriers is 11001110, meaning that, among its eight serving carriers, the first, second, fifth, sixth, and seventh carriers are activated, while the third, fourth, and eighth carriers are not activated. UE2 learns from this bit position information that the cell DTX / DRX activation status of its corresponding six carriers is 100111, meaning that, among its six serving carriers, the first, fourth, fifth, and sixth carriers are activated, while the second and third carriers are not activated.

[0368] In this example, UE3 is configured with 3 (N3=3) service carriers, corresponding to the 1st, 3rd and 4th carriers among the 4 carriers corresponding to the second first indication information, and UE2 is configured with 2 (N4=2) carriers, corresponding to the 3rd and 4th carriers among the 4 carriers corresponding to the second first indication information.

[0369] The base station indicates to UE3 that the bit positions of its three corresponding carriers in the first indication are 1011, and the base station indicates to UE4 that the bit positions of its two corresponding carriers in the first indication are 0011. UE3 learns from this bit position information that the cell DTX / DRX activation status of its three corresponding carriers is 010, that is, of its three serving carriers, the second carrier is activated, and the first and third carriers are not activated. UE4 learns from this bit position information that the cell DTX / DRX activation status of its two corresponding carriers is 10, that is, of its one serving carrier, the first carrier is activated, and the second carrier is not activated.

For example, an apparatus is provided, comprising units or modules for implementing each step performed by a terminal in any of the above methods. For another example, another apparatus is provided, comprising units or modules for implementing each step performed by a network device (e.g., an access network device, a core network function node, a core network device, etc.) in any of the above methods.

In actual implementation, they may be fully or partially integrated into a physical entity, or they may be physically separated. In addition, the units or modules in the device may be implemented in the form of a processor calling software: for example, the device includes a processor, the processor is connected to a memory, and the memory stores instructions. The processor calls the instructions stored in the memory to implement any of the above methods or implement the functions of the various units or modules of the above device, wherein the processor is, for example, a general-purpose processor, such as a central processing unit (CPU) or a microprocessor, and the memory is a memory within the device or a memory outside the device. Alternatively, the units or modules in the device can be implemented in the form of hardware circuits, and the functions of some or all of the units or modules can be realized by designing the hardware circuits. Taking a field programmable gate array (FPGA) as an example, it can include a large number of logic gate circuits, and the connection relationship between the logic gate circuits is configured by configuring the configuration file, thereby realizing the functions of some or all of the above units or modules. All units or modules of the above devices can be realized in the form of software called by the processor, or in the form of hardware circuits, or in part by the form of software called by the processor, and the rest by hardware circuits.

[0372] In the embodiments of the present disclosure, the processor is a circuit with signal processing capabilities. In one implementation, the processor can be a circuit with instruction reading and execution capabilities, such as a central processing unit (CPU), a microprocessor, a graphics processing unit (GPU) (which can be understood as a microprocessor), or a digital signal processor (DSP). In another implementation, the processor can implement certain functions through the logical relationship of the hardware circuit. The logical relationship of the above-mentioned hardware circuit is fixed or reconfigurable. For example, the processor is a hardware circuit implemented by an application-specific integrated circuit (ASIC) or a programmable logic device (PLD), such as an FPGA. In a reconfigurable hardware circuit, the process of the processor loading a configuration document and implementing the hardware circuit configuration can be understood as the process of the processor loading instructions to implement the functions of some or all of the above units or modules. In addition, it can also be a hardware circuit designed for artificial intelligence, which can be understood as an ASIC, such as a neural network processing unit (NPU), a tensor processing unit (TPU), a deep learning processing unit (DPU), etc.
