[0062] The present disclosure relates to resource reservation and resource scheduling. More particularly, the present disclosure relates to flexible resource reservation and scheduling in sub-networks.

[0063] So-called sub-networks are expected to be a component of radio communication networks, and in particular 5G or 6G networks. Sub-networks may help meet stringent performance requirements in terms of latency, reliability and / or throughput envisioned for certain 6G short-range scenarios. Sub-networks may be installed in specific entities e.g., in-vehicle, in-body, in-house, etc., to provide data services with extreme performances over the local capillary coverage. For example, a sub-network may involve life-critical data services. For example, an in-body sub-network may comprise one or more body-worn sensors, a pacemaker, smart-glasses etc. An in-house sub-network may comprise for example a router and a plurality of computing devices and / or sensors etc. Such sub-networks maybe referred to as “in-X” sub-networks, with the “X” representing the entity (e.g. body; house) in which the sub-network is deployed. Example sub-networks may include one or more of the following properties and technical features:

[0064] · Support of extreme performance requirements in terms of latency, reliability and / or throughputs;

[0065] · Low transmit power, which implies limited coverage range (e.g., in the order of few meters) ;

[0066] · Star or tree topology with one in-X AP (Access Points) and one or more in-X UEs (user equipment) under AP’s control;

[0067] · Overall mobility of AP and associated UEs, but lack / limited mobility across different sub-networks;

[0068] · Part of 6G network, but must continue to work also when out of network coverage.

[0069] System design for in-X sub-networks take the above technical features into account. The present disclosure has identified that sub-networks can be seen as a potential evolution of 5G Sidelink, but with the following enhancements being needed:

[0070] · from the air interface, e.g., to allow an out-of-coverage subNW AP to sense the channel, get resources and schedule those resources to the sub-network devices

[0071] · architectural enablers, e.g., for improved authentication or policy enforcement policies in such scenarios.

[0072] Figure 1 schematically shows the architectural aspects for an example in-X sub-network 100. An AP is shown at 102, and one or more sub-network devices are shown at 104 and 106. By way of non-limiting example, sub-network devices could comprise one or more body-worn sensors, a pacemaker, smart-glasses, a router, one or more computing devices and / or sensors etc. The in-X AP 102 serves and manages the in-X devices 104 and 106 in the capillary sub-network coverage on the one hand, while on the other hand the AP 102 is connected to the base station (BS) 108 of a 6G WAN, which could to a certain extent control and coordinate different sub-networks. An access point (AP) may be, by way of non-limiting example, a UE, a sidelink capable UE or a sidelink capable UE with capability to coordinate a sub-network, which are capable of scheduling other (sub-network) devices or UEs or sidelink UEs.

[0073] Sidelink (SL) is the de facto device-to-device communication technology in 3GPP in 5G and 5G-Advanced. 6G may use SL technology to support the so-called sub-networks with a multitude of feasible services.

[0074] The present disclosure identifies that present SL procedure has some drawbacks, including:

[0075] · Reservations of future radio resources can be done in two ways:

[0076] (i) a semi-persistent scheduling (SPS) manner, where the same resources are used for a (longer) period of time and then from time to time subject to re-evaluation; and

[0077] (ii) an initial transmission may indicate future resources for repetitions or retransmissions.

[0078] · Reservations are constrained to use a same transport block (TB) size.

[0079] · Reservations for future radio resources are subject to collisions which may render the entire transmission undecodable.

[0080] · Reservations are constrained to a single slot reservations, hence longer consecutive slots are not feasible.

[0081] Thus, the present disclosure proposes a resource selection or reservation mechanism suitable for sub-networks, for example 6G sub-networks. In some examples, it may be considered that the mechanism builds on, and may incorporate, existing SL procedures.

[0082] In some examples, and with reference to Figure 2, it may be considered that the disclosure includes the following steps.

[0083] At S201, an in-X network device (for example, AP or UE) listens to a shared channel to obtain resource allocation information. In some examples, the shared channel may be a Physical Sidelink Control Channel (PSCCH) . In some examples, the PSCCH is referred to as an enhanced PSCCH or ePSCCH. The resource allocation information may be obtained from a base station, at least one UE or at least one AP.

[0084] Based on the obtained resource allocation information, the network device then reserves resources for use in the sub-network of the network device or for communication between network devices, as shown at S202. In some examples, the resource reserved at this step may be considered a first resource. For example, the reserved resources may be for the AP and / or for one or more devices within the sub-network. In some examples, reserving resources may include: sensing, monitoring or listening for resource information; resource selection and exclusion of reserved resources; transmission of information of reserved resources on ePSCCH (which may be on the selected resource or on another resource) . In some examples it may be considered that the terms “sensing” , “monitoring” and “listening” are interchangeable.

[0085] At S203, the network device determines information of a resource (which may be considered a second resource) to be used by one or more devices in the sub-network of the network device. The second resource may be within the first resource.

[0086] At S204, the network device transmits a reservation indication of the reserved resource allocation (e.g. second resource) to targeted one or more network devices in the sub-network. For example, the network device may communicate with the one or more sub-network devices on a sub-network specific physical sidelink control channel. This channel may in some examples be referred to as sPSCCH.

[0087] At S205, the network device (e.g. AP) shares the resource allocation (e.g. information of one or more of the first or second resource) with one or more other APs. This enables co-ordination of resources between multiple sub-networks.

[0088] In another example, S205 could occur before S204.

[0089] Figure 3 provides a schematic example of resource allocation according to the disclosure. A resource pool is schematically shown at 320. Time (e, g, in the unit of slot) is represented along the x-axis and channel number or channel identity is shown on the y-axis (e.g., in the unit of sub-channel) . In the example of Figure 3, resources for three sub-networks are shown. Sub-network 0 is represented by the clear squares, sub-network 1 is represented by the squares with straight hatching and sub-network 2 is represented by the squares with diagonal hatching. The resource pool 320 may therefore be considered an overall resource pool of resources for multiple sub-networks. The overall resource pool may be communicated by base station (BS) to each network devices (e.g., AP or UE) , or may be pre-configured in each network devices. Each sub-network’s allocation may be considered a “virtual resource pool” , or a sub-pool within the larger “overall” pool 320. The virtual resource pool may be considered a pool of resources that are selected or reserved by an AP for use by the AP for its own purposes or to be used for operation of the sub-network of the AP (e.g. for communication from, to, and among sub-network devices) .

[0090] One such virtual resource pool, for sub-network 1, is shown in an enlarged fashion at 322. Within this virtual pool, resources for ePSCCH (e.g. for communications between APs) is shown at 324, and resources for sPSCCH (e.g. between AP and sub-network devices and / or for communication between sub-network devices) is shown at 326. Once resources for ePSCCH 324 and resources for sPSCCH 326 are taken into account, remaining resources for the sub-network are schematically shown at 328.

[0091] In some examples, the virtual resource pool 322 may be considered a first resource. The resources 328 available for the sub-network may be considered a second resource. In this example it will therefore be appreciated that the second resource is comprised in or is within the first resource.

[0092] It will be understood that in some examples, reserving resources (e.g. first resource and / or second resource referred to above) , may be for current or immediate use, or for future use.

[0093] Figure 4 is a signalling diagram according to an example, showing communications between a first AP, AP1 430, a device 432, and a second AP, AP2 434. In the example of Figure 4, AP1 430 controls a first sub-network (e.g. sub-network 1) , in which sub-network device 432 resides. AP2 434 controls another sub-network (e.g. sub-network 2) .

[0094] As a pre-cursor to resource allocation, at S401 the device 432 is associated to AP1 430 in sub-network 1. In some examples this is done by pre-configuration or by a discovery procedure.

[0095] Once the device 432 has been associated, the device 432 will search for ePSCCH with resources indicated for its sub-network ID. This is shown at S402. In some examples, following this step the device 432 then knows where to identify the sPSCCH based on the ePSCCH. In  some examples, once the device 432 has identified ePSCCH, the information in this is sufficient to maintain a sub-network communication which means that the device 432 only needs to receive the next sPSCCH. In some examples, the device will start searching for the other ePSCCH if the device fails to identify the sPSCCH.

[0096] At S403, AP1 430 begins a resource selection  / resource reservation procedure for sub-network 1, for example considering ePSCCH from one or more other APs. For example, it may be considered that AP1 430 selects its virtual resource pool, as described with respect to Figure 2. The resource selection may include one or more of:

[0097] · Determination of number of slots needed for sub-network 1. This may depend on sub-network numerology and frame structure. This may include consideration of number of current slots needed as well as number of future slots needed.

[0098] · Determination of number of sub-channels needed.

[0099] · Determination of time gap from previous allocation e.g. maximum time gap from previous virtual resource pool. The previous allocation might be in a previous (in time) virtual resource pool.

[0100] · Determination of whether the allocation complies with sub-network traffic time budgets.

[0101] · Determination of whether maximum resources by regulation or configuration. This may be configured per a priority level (e.g. sub-network priority) . For example, there can be some restrictions of how many resources, and how often these resources can be selected by a single sub-network. This might be subject to some priority of criticality, in some examples.

[0102] · Determination of transmit power differences between sidelink (e.g. AP to AP) communications) and sub-network (e.g. AP to device and device to device) communications.

[0103] In some examples, S403 may be repeated. For example, S403 may be repeated for each sidelink resource allocation. This is schematically shown at S404.

[0104] At S405, the AP1 430 signals information determined at S403 to device 432 and / or AP2 434, on the sidelink. At this stage, AP1 430 may transmit information determined at S403 to AP2 434. For example, at S405 the AP1 430 may transmit information of one or more of: number of slots reserved; number of sub-channels reserved; sub-network ID (i.e. of sub-network 1) ; transmit power difference between SL transmissions and sub-network transmissions. In some examples, the information transmitted at S405 is conveyed as one or more SCI (sidelink control information) messages in ePSCCH.

[0105] At S406, the device 432 determines where to locate or identify the sub-network specific physical sidelink control channel (sPSCCH) . For example, the device 432 may determine this  by listening to ePSCCH. Once the device 432 has made this determination, then is some examples it can stop listening to or searching for ePSCCH.

[0106] At S407, the AP2 434 performs sidelink resource selection or reservation for the sub-network of AP2 434. The resource selection at AP2 434 takes into account the resource selection already performed by AP1 430, which AP2 434 learned of from the communication at S405. At S407 the AP2 434 may perform one or more of the following while selecting resources for the sub-network of AP2:

[0107] · Exclude resources already selected by the other AP (e.g., AP1) . For example, this may be done using sub-network specific thresholds;

[0108] · Exclude resources based on a pre-configured sub-network specific RSRP exclusion list;

[0109] · Scaling the measured RSRP (measured at least on ePSCCH) based on an indicated transmit power difference (e.g transmit power difference between sidelink communications and sub-network communications) . Applying the scaled RSRP for selecting / excluding resources overlapping the reserved resources;

[0110] · Enforcing a new maximum transmit power, if the selected resources overlapping the reserved resource;

[0111] · Only allowing another sub-network transmission on these resources (for example AP2 needs to select a resource, either for sidelink or sub-network transmissions. In examples AP2 may do so by accounting for the reserved resources from AP1. One restriction for selecting overlapping resources selected by AP1 is to say that it cannot be used for anything else other than sub-network communication (no AP-2-AP communication) . And / or

[0112] · Applying a guard-band around the resources for the sub-network of AP2.

[0113] To some extent, the resource selection at S407 for AP2 may be considered analogous to the resource selection at S403 for AP1. Of course, AP2 can take AP1 reservations into account due to the timeline of the flow-chart, in this example.

[0114] At S408, a determination is made as to whether there is a sub-network allocation. If there is a sub-network allocation, there is no need to decode the content indicated by sPSCCH.

[0115] At S409, the AP1 sends information of resource allocation  / reservation (e.g. second resource) to the device 432. The resource allocation information may comprise one or more of:

[0116] · Frame structure (UL / DL pattern) ;

[0117] · Number of symbols;

[0118] · Number of frequency resources;

[0119] · Frequency and / or time offset to the next sPSCCH; and / or

[0120] · Resource assignment (s) for a sub-network transmission in the uplink or downlink (from or to the sub-network device and the AP) . For example, this may be in SCI / DCI format.

[0121] At S410, the device 432 then updates its previous resource allocations (if it has any) . For example, such updates may take account of the indicated time and frequency offsets. This may help the device 432 with power saving.

[0122] According to some examples, it may be considered that resource allocation for a sub-network is performed by an AP (e.g. AP1 430 at S403 and / or AP2 434 at S407) in a flexible manner. For example, future scheduling may be flexible and negotiable between APs rather than in fixed periods.

[0123] The present disclosure presents some different options for enabling flexible resource reservations for the sub-network resource reservations towards other APs (via ePSCCH) as illustrated in Figure 5A and Figure 5B.

[0124] One option is that each resource reservation points to the at least one next reservation, as shown in Figure 5A. For example, considering only indicating the next reservation, an ePSCCH 541 of a first resource reservation points to or provides resource information (such as scheduling) of a second resource reservation 542; an ePSCCH 543 of the second resource reservation 542 points to or provides resource information (such as scheduling) of a third resource reservation 544; an ePSCCH 545 of the third resource reservation 544 points to or provides resource information (such as scheduling) of a fourth resource reservation 546, and so on. For example, compared to SoA SL, it is not possible to change scheduling parameters such as the number of subchannels for future resources, so that is a difference that it can be a future resource, but also be of difference size depending on the estimated need in the future.

[0125] Another option is that a single reservation may indicate at least one or more other future reservations, as shown in Figure 5B. For example, an ePSCCH 551 of a first resource 550 may point to or provide resource information (such as scheduling) of multiple future resources, in this case future resources 552, 554, 556.

[0126] In some examples, both options of Figure 5A and Figure 5B can be supported in an ePSCCH by, for example, the ePSCCH carrying multiple Sidelink Control Indicators (SCIs) , for example an NR sidelink 1st stage SCI. In this way, there may at least one or more SCI in each reserved transmission that reserves resources for the sub-network in the future. In some examples this may be done with the same reference (from where the SCIs are transmitted) or based on an absolute reference (e.g. logical slot number) .

[0127] In some examples, a modified NR sidelink SCI format field may be used to enable flexible resource reservations. For example, one of the fields of NR SL SCI format 1-A (as specified in 3GPP TS 38.212 and 38.214) may be used. For example, the existing fields, TRIV (Time Resource Indicator Vector) and FRIV (Frequency Resource Indicator Vector) , assumes  the same number of sub-channels per allocation. Enabling a flexible number of consecutive slots and number of sub-channels per allocation may, in some examples, be achieved by adding a new field. For example, the new field may be referred to as NSCV (Number of Sub-Channels Vector) .

[0128] In one example, ePSCCH can be used to only reserve future resources (and not the currently used resource) . To do so, in some examples a new field may be added to the 1st stage SCI to indicate whether a reservation is related or not to the allocation where the SCI is transmitted. In this way, if a collision occurs in the initial transmission, it does not harm the data transmissions in the sub-network and the collision can be resolved before the future reservation starts.

[0129] In some examples, multiple subsets of resources from a resource pool can be (pre) configured. In some implementations, the number of subchannels and interval between the resources in a subset is determined based on traffic pattern (e.g., an aperiodic burst with a known separation between packets of known size) . A subset of resources may be selected and indicated by the AP with minimum overhead.

[0130] Scheduling of sub-network devices will now be discussed in more detail with reference to Figure 6. Figure 6 shows an example of using sPSCCH to schedule sub-network devices. For example, scheduling sub-network devices may include indicating a time or frequency offset to the next resource.

[0131] In some examples the AP of a sub-network transmits scheduling information to the sub-network devices in an sPSCCH within the reserved resource. In some examples the scheduling information is transmitted via one or more enhanced SCI or DCI (downlink control information) scheduling formats. Or a different scheduling format may be used to schedule the sub-network devices on the resources the sub-network devices can use for transmissions, and any needed adjustments to an existing resource allocation to fit a future reservation.

[0132] In some examples, the adjustments to existing resource allocation may be beneficial for any sub-network devices which are scheduled in a semi-persistent manner. In some examples the sub-network devices may continue using the semi-persistent configuration even in a new reserved resource, which may or may not be in a different time and / or frequency resource.

[0133] Figure 6 illustrates an example allocation 660. For example, the allocation may be sent on sPSCCH shown schematically at 661. In the example of Figure 6 a first device (device #1) is provided with an allocation as shown in the slots with the vertical hatching, and the device #2 is provided with an allocation as shown in the black slots. Device #1 is provided with a periodic resource allocation and device #2 is provided with an aperiodic resource allocation with a retransmission resource. More particularly, in the example of Figure 6 device #1 is  scheduled with a periodically repeating single symbol resource every 9th symbol. Device #2 is scheduled with a 5 symbol resource twice for a larger packet and for n repetitions.

[0134] In some examples, the allocation also indicates the frequency (and time) offset for where to find the next sPSCCH, as shown schematically at 662. In some examples it is the time or frequency offset (s) that the sub-network devices may use to adjust their semi-persistent resource allocations. The start of the next virtual resource pool is shown schematically at 664.

[0135] In some examples the sub-network devices may operate in a semi-distributed mode. In the semi-distributed mode the sub-network devices may autonomously select resources within the resources reserved by the AP which are indicated in the ePSCCH. In the semi-distributed mode, the AP controlling the sub-network does not need to explicitly schedule each sub-network device, and hence does not need to transmit sPSCCH with allocations to each device. In some examples, in the semi-distributed mode the sub-network devices may be configured to perform sensing operations only within resources reserved by the AP. In other examples, in semi-distributed mode the sub-network devices may be allowed to randomly select resources within the resources reserved by the AP. In some examples, in semi-distributed mode the sub-network devices may be allowed to select resources within resources reserved by the AP using a semi-random (preconfigured) pattern to prevent collisions with other sub-network devices.

[0136] As will be appreciated, communications between APs and sub-network devices may need to co-exist. The present disclosure identifies that the combination of sub-network devices and sidelink communication between APs may pose a challenge when using the same spectrum, as the two links may need different transmit powers, and potentially very different transmit powers. For example, an AP may need to transmit with 10-20dBm to reach another AP (including ePSCCH) , while the AP may only need to transmit with somewhere between -20 to 0 dBm towards its sub-network devices (including sPSCCH) . This may cause significant adjacent channel leakage if the two transmissions occur in the same time instances and in nearby frequency resources. Therefore, according to some examples SL and sub-network transmissions are controlled to ensure that SL and sub-network transmissions are not adjacent in frequency, and in some examples are separate in time domain. According to some examples, ePSCCH and sPSCCH are time-multiplexed, and the time occurrences of ePSCCH are aligned.

[0137] Another embodiment related to AP and sub-network coexistence is to indicate the intended usage of a reserved resource. This is helpful for sensing APs to determine the need for a guard band, or to determine slots where they do not need to listen (e.g. if all frequency resources are occupied for sub-network intended transmissions) . This is achieved by adding an additional bit into the ePSCCH (or use a reserved bit in an existing sub-network SCI) that  indicates whether the reserved resource is intended for a sub-network or for a sidelink transmission.

[0138] According to some examples, AP and sub-network coexistence is enhanced by indicating the intended usage of a reserved resource to other APs. This may be helpful for sensing APs to determine whether there is need for a guard band. This may also be helpful for a sensing AP to determine slots where the sensing AP does not need to listen (e.g. if all frequency resources are occupied for sub-network intended transmissions) . According to some examples this is achieved by adding an additional bit in the ePSCCH (or use a reserved bit in an existing sub-network SCI) that indicates whether the reserved resource is intended for a sub-network or for a sidelink transmission.

[0139] In some examples, a sub-network might use a sub-carrier spacing (SCS) communication for communication with the sub-network devices, rather than what is used to transmit the preambles and ePSCCH. Sub-network configurations (including SCS, reference signal location etc. ) may be configured by the AP to the sub-network devices or it can be pre-configured. The AP may also indicate in ePSCCH whether the resource is for sub-networks or for sidelink. In some examples, higher SCS in the sub-network may be used to ensure a better spectral efficiency when using the channel for short range transmissions within the sub-network. For example, AP-to-AP can use 15kHz SCS which allows it to reach another AP that might be hundreds of meters away, but then the transmission takes at least 1 slot (1 ms) . If increasing the SCS to 480kHz SCS, the slot duration may be reduced to approximately 32μs and but at the cost of not being able to sustain communication in a synchronized manner with other UEs that er more than tens of meters away.

[0140] In some examples the sub-network might apply a TDD UL / DL pattern for communication between the AP and the sub-network devices. This pattern can be indicated in the sPSCCH or by pre-configuration.

[0141] In another example, resource allocations might be contiguous in the frequency domain, or might not be contiguous in frequency domain (i.e., spread in the frequency band) to increase resiliency against interference in parts of the frequency band) .

[0142] Figure 7 shows an example of a control apparatus for a communication system, for example to be coupled to and / or for controlling a station of an access system, such as a RAN node, e.g. a base station, gNB. The control apparatus could also be for example, any one or more of an access point (AP) , a sub-network device, a UE. The control apparatus 700 can be arranged to provide control on communications in a service area. The control apparatus 700 comprises at least one memory 701, at least one data processing unit 702, 703 and an input / output interface 704. Via the interface the control apparatus can be coupled to a receiver and a transmitter. The receiver and / or the transmitter may be implemented as a radio front end or a remote radio head. For example, the control apparatus 700 or processor 701 can be  configured to execute an appropriate software code to provide the control functions. An entity, such as AP1 430, device 432, AP2 434, discussed with respect to Figure 4 may take the form of a control apparatus as shown in Figure 7.

[0162] According to some examples, the apparatus comprises an Access Point of the sub-network.

[0163] Figure 9 is a flow chart of a method according to an example. The flow chart of Figure 9 may be viewed from the perspective of an apparatus. For example, the apparatus may be a device of a sub-network. For example, the apparatus may be by way of non-limiting example one or more body-worn sensors, a pacemaker, smart-glasses; a router; one or more computing devices and / or sensors etc.

[0164] As shown at S901 the method comprises monitoring information of a first resource on a second channel.

[0165] As shown at S902 the method comprises receiving, on a third channel from an access point of a sub-network, information of a second resource based on the information of the first resource.

[0170] According to some examples, the scheduling information is configured to separate communications on the second channel and the third channel by one or more of: time separation; or frequency separation.

[0171] According to some examples, the apparatus comprises a device operating within the sub-network.

[0172] Figure 10 shows a schematic representation of non-volatile memory media 1000a (e.g. computer disc (CD) or digital versatile disc (DVD) ) and 1000b (e.g. universal serial bus (USB) memory stick) storing instructions and / or parameters 1002 which when executed by a processor allow the processor to perform one or more of the steps of the method of Figure 8.

[0173] It should be understood that the apparatuses may comprise or be coupled to other units or modules etc., such as radio parts or radio heads, used in or for transmission and / or reception. Although the apparatuses have been described as one entity, different modules and memory may be implemented in one or more physical or logical entities.

[0174] It is noted that whilst some embodiments have been described in relation to 5G networks, similar principles can be applied in relation to other networks and communication systems. Therefore, although certain embodiments were described above by way of example with reference to certain example architectures for wireless networks, technologies and standards, embodiments may be applied to any other suitable forms of communication systems than those illustrated and described herein.

[0175] It is also noted herein that while the above describes example embodiments, there are several variations and modifications which may be made to the disclosed solution without departing from the scope of the present invention.

[0176] As used herein, “at least one of the following: <a list of two or more elements>” and “at least one of <a list of two or more elements>” and similar wording, where the list of two or more elements are joined by “and” or “or” , mean at least any one of the elements, or at least any two or more of the elements, or at least all the elements. Likewise, phrases such as “X and / or Y” or “X / Y” can be considered to cover either X or Y alone, or X and Y together.

[0177] Where it is said that a node or element (e.g. UE or gNB) “determines” information or the like, this may be considered to cover various ways in which that node becomes aware of or obtains that information. For example, determining may include performing one or more processing steps. Determining may also cover receiving the information, for example from another entity.

[0178] In general, the various embodiments may be implemented in hardware or special purpose circuitry, software, logic or any combination thereof. Some aspects of the disclosure may be implemented in hardware, while other aspects may be implemented in firmware or software which may be executed by a controller, microprocessor or other computing device, although the disclosure is not limited thereto. While various aspects of the disclosure may be illustrated and described as block diagrams, flow charts, or using some other pictorial representation, it is well understood that these blocks, apparatus, systems, techniques or methods described herein may be implemented in, as non-limiting examples, hardware, software, firmware, special purpose circuits or logic, general purpose hardware or controller or other computing devices, or some combination thereof.

[0179] As used in this application, the term “circuitry” may refer to one or more or all of the following:

[0180] (a) hardware-only circuit implementations (such as implementations in only analog and / or digital circuitry) and

[0181] (b) combinations of hardware circuits and software, such as (as applicable) :

[0182] (i) a combination of analog and / or digital hardware circuit (s) with software / firmware and

[0183] (ii) any portions of hardware processor (s) with software (including digital signal processor (s) ) , software, and memory (ies) that work together to cause an apparatus, such as a mobile phone or server, to perform various functions) and

[0184] (c) hardware circuit (s) and or processor (s) , such as a microprocessor (s) or a portion of a microprocessor (s) , that requires software (e.g., firmware) for operation, but the software may not be present when it is not needed for operation.

[0185] This definition of circuitry applies to all uses of this term in this application, including in any claims. As a further example, as used in this application, the term circuitry also covers an implementation of merely a hardware circuit or processor (or multiple processors) or portion of a hardware circuit or processor and its (or their) accompanying software and / or firmware. The term circuitry also covers, for example and if applicable to the particular claim element, a baseband integrated circuit or processor integrated circuit for a mobile device or a similar integrated circuit in server, a cellular network device, or other computing or network device.

[0186] The embodiments of this disclosure may be implemented by computer software executable by a data processor of the mobile device, such as in the processor entity, or by hardware, or by a combination of software and hardware. Computer software or program, also called program product, including software routines, applets and / or macros, may be stored in any apparatus-readable data storage medium and they comprise program instructions to perform particular tasks. A computer program product may comprise one or more computer-executable components which, when the program is run, are configured to carry out  embodiments. The one or more computer-executable components may be at least one software code or portions of it.

[0187] Further in this regard it should be noted that any blocks of the logic flow as in the Figures may represent program steps, or interconnected logic circuits, blocks and functions, or a combination of program steps and logic circuits, blocks and functions. The software may be stored on such physical media as memory chips, or memory blocks implemented within the processor, magnetic media such as hard disk or floppy disks, and optical media such as for example DVD and the data variants thereof, CD. The physical media is a non-transitory media.

[0188] The term “non-transitory, ” as used herein, is a limitation of the medium itself (i.e., tangible, not a signal) as opposed to a limitation on data storage persistency (e.g., RAM vs. ROM) . The memory may be of any type suitable to the local technical environment and may be implemented using any suitable data storage technology, such as semiconductor based memory devices, magnetic memory devices and systems, optical memory devices and systems, fixed memory and removable memory. The data processors may be of any type suitable to the local technical environment, and may comprise one or more of general purpose computers, special purpose computers, microprocessors, digital signal processors (DSPs) , application specific integrated circuits (ASIC) , FPGA, gate level circuits and processors based on multi core processor architecture, as non-limiting examples. Embodiments of the disclosure may be practiced in various components such as integrated circuit modules. The design of integrated circuits is by and large a highly automated process. Complex and powerful software tools are available for converting a logic level design into a semiconductor circuit design ready to be etched and formed on a semiconductor substrate.

[0189] The scope of protection sought for various embodiments of the disclosure is set out by the independent claims. The embodiments and features, if any, described in this specification that do not fall under the scope of the independent claims are to be interpreted as examples useful for understanding various embodiments of the disclosure.
