Abstract
Description
PPDU transmission method and device
[0001] This application claims priority to the Chinese patent application with application number 202310803016.5 filed with the State Intellectual Property Office of China on June 30, 2023, and priority to the Chinese patent application with the invention name “PPDU Transmission Method and Device”, all contents of which are incorporated by reference into this application. Technical Field
[0002] The present application relates to the field of wireless communication technology, and in particular to a method and device for transmitting a physical layer protocol data unit (PPDU). Background Art
[0003] Due to the widespread deployment of wireless fidelity (Wi-Fi) devices and the increasing demand for sensing, utilizing readily available Wi-Fi devices for sensing is a current research hotspot. In daily life, signals emitted by Wi-Fi devices are often reflected, diffracted, and scattered by various obstacles before being received. This phenomenon results in the actual received signal being a superposition of multiple signals. Therefore, wireless signals can sense the physical environment they pass through. By analyzing the wireless signals "modulated" by various obstacles, the surrounding environment can be inferred. This has led to the development of wireless local area network (WLAN) sensing technology (also referred to as wireless sensing technology). WLAN sensing is a technology with broad application prospects. It utilizes widely deployed Wi-Fi devices to transmit specific data or communication channel probe frames to sense the surrounding environment. It then receives signal echoes or feedback from peer devices in the wireless network. Using algorithms, it extracts and analyzes relevant parameters from the received signals to obtain information about the surrounding environment.
[0004] The 802.11bf standard, developed by the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE), is used for wireless LAN sensing. It specifies sensing protocols for the sub-7 GHz and 60 GHz frequency bands. Since WLAN sensing utilizes existing Wi-Fi devices to sense surrounding objects, and the primary function of existing Wi-Fi devices is data communication, WLAN sensing often involves both communication and sensing.
[0005] However, in the existing 802.11bf protocol and other Wi-Fi technology solutions, it is impossible to perform perception measurement and communication simultaneously.
[0006] Summary of the Invention
[0007] The embodiments of the present application provide a PPDU transmission method and apparatus, which can realize simultaneous (or parallel) communication and perception measurement, thereby reducing the degradation of communication service quality (QoS) or perception quality caused by the conflict between perception measurement and communication.
[0008] The present application is introduced below from different aspects. It should be understood that the implementation methods and beneficial effects of the following different aspects can be referenced to each other.
[0009] In a first aspect, the present application provides a PPDU transmission method, applied to a first communication device, comprising: generating and transmitting a first PPDU, the first PPDU comprising a first data frame, the first data frame comprising first indication information. The first indication information is used to determine one or more of the following: a transmit power of a second PPDU from a second communication device, or a number of sensing fields in the second PPDU.
[0010] Exemplarily, the first data frame may be any type of data frame, such as a data frame in the 802.11ax protocol, a data frame in the 802.11be protocol, or a data frame in a future generation of 802.11 communication protocol, and this application does not impose any restrictions.
[0011] In the present application, the field used for perception may be a long training field (LTF) of the first standard. Exemplarily, the first standard may be the 802.11ax protocol, or the 802.11be protocol, or a future generation of 802.11 communication protocol. For example, if the first standard is the 802.11ax protocol, the above-mentioned sequence used for perception may be a high efficiency (HE) long training field (HE-LTF); if the first standard is the 802.11be protocol, the above-mentioned field used for perception may be an extremely high throughput (EHT) long training field (EHT-LTF).
[0012] In this application, the field used for perception can not only be used for perception measurement, but also can realize other functions, such as channel estimation. This application focuses on the function of using this field for perception measurement.
[0013] In this application, the first communication device can be an access point station (AP STA), referred to as an access point (AP); or a non-access point station (non-AP STA), referred to as a station (STA). The second communication device can be a non-access point station (non-AP STA) or an access point (AP). For example, in a downlink communication scenario, the first communication device is an access point and the second communication device is a non-access point station; in an uplink communication scenario, the first communication device is a non-access point station and the second communication device is an access point.
[0014] In existing technologies, if a higher-priority communication request arises during sensing, the sensing process is terminated, resulting in a delay in obtaining the sensing result and a reduction in the quality of the sensing service. Alternatively, if a higher-priority sensing request arises during communication, the communication needs to be terminated, increasing data latency and reducing QoS.
[0015] However, the present application carries first indication information in the data frame, which is used to determine the transmission power of the second PPDU fed back by the opposite end and the number of fields used for perception in the second PPDU. On the one hand, since the frame body of the data frame contains a data payload, data communication can be achieved. On the other hand, since the data frame carries the first indication information, it can be used to instruct the opposite end how to feed back the second PPDU carrying the field used for perception, which can achieve perception measurement. Therefore, the present application can achieve simultaneous (or parallel) communication and perception measurement, reducing the degradation of communication QoS or perception quality caused by the conflict between perception measurement and communication.
[0016] In combination with the first aspect, in a possible implementation, after the first communication device sends the first PPDU, the method further includes: the first communication device receives the second PPDU, and the second PPDU includes: at least one field for sensing, and feedback for confirming whether the above-mentioned first data frame is successfully transmitted. The number of fields for sensing in the second PPDU is determined based on the above-mentioned first indication information. Exemplarily, if the above-mentioned first indication information is used to determine the transmission power of the second PPDU from the second communication device, the physical layer header of the second PPDU includes a field for sensing. If the above-mentioned first indication information is used to determine the number of fields for sensing in the second PPDU, the physical layer header of the second PPDU includes at least one sequence for sensing, and the number of sequences for sensing in the second PPDU is equal to the number determined (or indicated) by the first indication information.
[0017] Optionally, after the first communications device receives the second PPDU, the method further includes: the first communications device performing a perception measurement based on at least one field used for perception in the second PPDU. It will be appreciated that the greater the number of fields used for perception in the second PPDU, the better the perception performance. Therefore, by indicating the number of fields used for perception in the second PPDU, perception performance can be improved.
[0018] Exemplarily, the feedback used to confirm whether the first data frame is successfully transmitted includes an acknowledgment (ACK) frame or a block acknowledgment (BA) frame. The ACK frame can be used to confirm the successful transmission of the first data frame, and the BA frame can be used to confirm whether the first data frame is successfully transmitted. Exemplarily, the ACK frame or the BA frame is located in the physical layer service data unit (PSDU) of the second PPDU.
[0019] The first communication device of the present application sends a first data frame with first indication information, and the second communication device replies with a second PPDU that can be used for perception. On the one hand, the frame body of the first data frame contains a data payload, and the second PPDU contains an ACK frame or a BA frame, and the interaction between the two can ensure normal communication. On the other hand, the first data frame contains the first indication information, which can be used to indicate the sending of the second PPDU, and the second PPDU is a PPDU for perception indicated by the first data frame, and the interaction between the two completes the perception processing process. Therefore, the present application can ensure that communication and perception are carried out simultaneously, reducing the degradation of communication QoS or the degradation of perception quality caused by perception measurement and communication conflicts.
[0020] In a second aspect, the present application provides a PPDU transmission method, applied to a second communication device, comprising: receiving and parsing a first PPDU, the first PPDU including a first data frame, the first data frame including first indication information. The first indication information is used to determine one or more of the following: a transmit power of a second PPDU, or a number of fields in the second PPDU for sensing.
[0021] In conjunction with the second aspect, in one possible implementation, after the second communication device parses the first PPDU, the method further includes: the second communication device sending a second PPDU based on the first indication information, the second PPDU including: at least one field for sensing, and feedback confirming whether the first data frame was successfully transmitted. The number of fields for sensing in the second PPDU is determined based on the first indication information. The at least one field for sensing in the second PPDU is used by the first communication device to perform sensing measurements.
[0022] In some scenarios, the second communication device's transmission of the second PPDU may not be triggered by the first communication device's transmission of the first PPDU. That is, the first communication device's transmission of the first PPDU and the second communication device's transmission of the second PPDU may be decoupled. For example, the second communication device's transmission of the second PPDU may be triggered by a specific trigger frame or autonomously based on other circumstances.
[0023] In a third aspect, the present application provides a communication device, which may be a first communication device or a chip or functional module configured in the first communication device, and includes a processing unit and a transceiver unit. The processing unit is configured to generate a first PPDU, the first PPDU including a first data frame, the first data frame including first indication information, the first indication information being used to determine one or more of the following: the transmit power of a second PPDU from a second communication device, or the number of fields used for sensing in the second PPDU; and the transceiver unit is configured to transmit or output the first PPDU.
[0024] In conjunction with the third aspect, in one possible implementation, the transceiver unit is further configured to receive the second PPDU, where the second PPDU includes: at least one field for sensing, and feedback for confirming whether the first data frame is successfully transmitted. The number of fields for sensing in the second PPDU is determined based on the first indication information.
[0025] In combination with the third aspect, in a possible implementation manner, the processing unit is further configured to perform perception measurement based on at least one field for perception in the second PPDU.
[0026] In a fourth aspect, the present application provides a communication device, which may be a second communication device or a chip or functional module configured in the second communication device. The communication device includes a processing unit and a transceiver unit. The transceiver unit is configured to receive a first PPDU, the first PPDU including a first data frame, the first data frame including first indication information, the first indication information being used to determine one or more of the following: the transmit power of a second PPDU or the number of sensing fields in the second PPDU; and the processing unit is configured to parse the first PPDU.
[0027] In conjunction with the fourth aspect, in one possible implementation, the transceiver unit is further configured to send the second PPDU based on the first indication information, where the second PPDU includes: at least one field for sensing, and feedback for confirming whether the first data frame is successfully transmitted. The number of fields for sensing in the second PPDU is determined based on the first indication information, and the fields for sensing are used by the first communication device to perform sensing measurements.
[0028] In a possible implementation of any of the above aspects, the first indication information includes one or more of the following: a transmit power of the first PPDU, an expected receive power, a number of combinations of fields used for sensing in the second PPDU, or a number of fields used for sensing in a combination of fields used for sensing. The transmit power and expected receive power of the first PPDU are used to determine the transmit power of the second PPDU.
[0029] It can be understood that if the field used for perception is HE-LTF, then the combination of fields used for perception can be a HE-LTF repetition block (HE-LTF repetition block), and the number of fields used for perception in the combination of fields used for perception is the number of HE-LTFs in the HE-LTF repetition block. If the field used for perception is EHT-LTF, then the combination of fields used for perception can be an EHT-LTF repetition block (EHT-LTF repetition block), and the number of fields used for perception in the combination of fields used for perception is the number of EHT-LTFs in the EHT-LTF repetition block.
[0030] It can be understood that the above-mentioned field used for perception can be used for perception measurement and can also realize other functions, such as channel estimation. This application focuses on the function of using this field for perception measurement.
[0031] In a possible implementation manner of any of the above aspects, the first indication information further includes one or more of the following: a spatial stream allocated to the second PPDU, or a resource unit (RU) allocated to the second PPDU.
[0032] Optionally, the first data frame belongs to a first user. The first PPDU also includes a second data frame, and the second data frame belongs to a second user.
[0033] Optionally, the second data frame includes second indication information, which is used to determine: the transmission power of the third PPDU from the third communication device and / or the number of fields used for perception in the third PPDU, as well as the spatial stream allocated to the third PPDU and / or the RU allocated to the third PPDU.
[0034] It can be understood that the information formats of the first indication information and the second indication information in the present application can be the same, but the specific values can be different or the same, and the specific values are determined by the first communication device.
[0035] In other words, the first indication information and the second indication information can be summarized as being used to determine: the transmit power of a PPDU from a frame receiver and / or the number of sequences used for sensing in the PPDU, as well as the spatial streams allocated to the PPDU and / or the RUs allocated to the PPDU. For the first data frame, the frame receiver is the second communications device; for the second data frame, the frame receiver is the third communications device.
[0036] The present application carries the spatial stream allocated to the second PPDU, or the RU allocated to the second PPDU, in the data frame, and can support simultaneous (or parallel) downlink communication and perception measurement of multiple users.
[0037] In a possible implementation manner of any of the above aspects, the first indication information is carried in a medium access control (MAC) header of the first data frame.
[0038] Optionally, the second indication information is carried in a MAC header of the second data frame.
[0039] In a possible implementation of any of the above aspects, the first data frame further includes third indication information. The third indication information may be used to indicate whether the first data frame carries the first indication information. Here, the third indication information indicates that the first data frame carries the first indication information.
[0040] In a possible implementation manner of any of the above aspects, the field for perception is carried in the physical layer header of the second PPDU.
[0041] In a possible implementation of any of the above aspects, the physical layer header of the first PPDU includes fourth indication information. The fourth indication information is used to indicate that the type of the first PPDU is any one of the following: non-perceptual PPDU, perceptual PPDU, or communication-perceptual PPDU.
[0042] Among them, non-perception PPDU can be understood as: PPDU that is not related to perception technology, or the PPDU does not carry perception-related information (such as the first indication information of this application, existing perception-related parameters, etc.), or it is a PPDU that is only related to communication. Perception PPDU can be understood as: PPDU related to perception technology, or the PPDU carries perception-related information, or the PPDU participates in perception-related processing, or it is a PPDU that is only related to perception. Communication-perception PPDU can be understood as: PPDU related to both communication and perception, or the PPDU carries both communication data and perception-related information, or the PPDU participates in both traditional communication processing and perception processing.
[0043] This application includes fourth indication information in the physical layer header of a PPDU to indicate the PPDU type. This allows a device receiving the PPDU to determine whether to continue parsing subsequent fields by parsing the fourth indication information in the PPDU. This reduces energy consumption caused by parsing PPDUs related to perception by devices not participating in the perception process, achieving device energy conservation and minimizing the impact of the perception activity on non-participating devices.
[0044] In a fifth aspect, the present application provides a PPDU transmission method, which is applied to a first communication device, and includes: generating and sending a first PPDU, the first PPDU including a data frame, the data frame including third indication information. The third indication information is used to indicate that the data frame carries the first indication information or indicates that the data frame carries fifth indication information. The first indication information is used to determine one or more of the following: the transmit power of a second PPDU from a second communication device, or the number of fields in the second PPDU used for sensing; and the fifth indication information is used to terminate the sensing measurement session.
[0045] In combination with the fifth aspect, in a possible implementation, after the first communication device sends the first PPDU, the method also includes: the first communication device receives the second PPDU, and the second PPDU includes feedback for confirming whether the above-mentioned data frame is transmitted successfully, such as an ACK frame or a BA frame.
[0046] Optionally, if the third indication information indicates that the data frame carries the first indication information, the second PPDU further includes at least one field for sensing. The number of fields for sensing in the second PPDU is determined based on the first indication information. Optionally, after the first communication device receives the second PPDU, the method further includes: the first communication device performing a sensing measurement based on the at least one field for sensing in the second PPDU.
[0047] Optionally, if the third indication information indicates that the data frame carries fifth indication information, the second PPDU is an existing PPDU carrying an ACK frame or a BA frame.
[0048] The present application carries the third indication information in the data frame, which can enable the data frame to have multiple functions, and the function of the data frame can be set according to needs, so that communication and perception measurement can be carried out simultaneously (or in parallel), reducing the degradation of communication QoS or perception quality caused by the conflict between perception measurement and communication; it can also complete the closing of the perception measurement session during communication, saving time and channel resources.
[0049] In a sixth aspect, the present application provides a PPDU transmission method, applied to a second communication device, the method comprising: receiving and parsing a first PPDU, the first PPDU including a data frame, the data frame including third indication information. The third indication information is used to indicate that the data frame carries the first indication information or indicates that the data frame carries fifth indication information. The first indication information is used to determine one or more of the following: the transmit power of a second PPDU or the number of fields in the second PPDU used for sensing; and the fifth indication information is used to terminate a sensing measurement session.
[0050] In combination with the sixth aspect, in a possible implementation, after the second communication device parses the first PPDU, the method also includes: the second communication device sends the second PPDU, and the second PPDU includes feedback for confirming whether the above-mentioned data frame is transmitted successfully, such as an ACK frame or a BA frame.
[0051] Optionally, if the third indication information indicates that the data frame carries the first indication information, the second PPDU further includes at least one field for sensing. The number of fields for sensing in the second PPDU is determined based on the first indication information. The fields for sensing in the second PPDU can be used by the first communication device to perform sensing measurements.
[0052] Optionally, if the third indication information indicates that the data frame carries fifth indication information, the second PPDU is an existing PPDU carrying an ACK frame or a BA frame.
[0053] It is understood that the second communication device can determine, by parsing the first PPDU, whether the data frame terminates the sensing measurement session or indicates the transmission parameters of the second PPDU (transmit power and / or the number of fields used for sensing), and thus perform corresponding operations. For details, please refer to the description of the method embodiment below, which is not detailed here.
[0054] In a seventh aspect, the present application provides a communication device, which may be a first communication device or a chip or functional module configured in the first communication device, and the communication device includes a processing unit and a transceiver unit. [0055] In combination with the seventh aspect, in a possible implementation, the transceiver unit is further used to receive the second PPDU, where the second PPDU includes feedback for confirming whether the above-mentioned data frame is transmitted successfully, such as an ACK frame or a BA frame.
[0056] Optionally, if the third indication information indicates that the data frame carries the first indication information, the second PPDU further includes at least one field for sensing. The number of fields for sensing in the second PPDU is determined based on the first indication information. Optionally, the processing unit is further configured to perform a sensing measurement based on the at least one field for sensing in the second PPDU.
[0057] Optionally, if the third indication information indicates that the data frame carries fifth indication information, the second PPDU is an existing PPDU carrying an ACK frame or a BA frame.
[0058] In an eighth aspect, the present application provides a communication device, which may be a second communication device or a chip or functional module configured in the second communication device, and includes a processing unit and a transceiver unit. The transceiver unit is configured to receive a first PPDU, the first PPDU including a data frame, the data frame including third indication information, the third indication information being used to indicate that the data frame carries the first indication information or indicates that the data frame carries fifth indication information; wherein the first indication information is used to determine one or more of the following: the transmit power of the second PPDU or the number of fields in the second PPDU used for sensing; the fifth indication information is used to terminate the sensing measurement session; and the processing unit is configured to parse the first PPDU.
[0059] In combination with the eighth aspect, in a possible implementation, the transceiver unit is further used to send the second PPDU, and the second PPDU includes feedback for confirming whether the above-mentioned data frame is successfully transmitted, such as an ACK frame or a BA frame.
[0060] Optionally, if the third indication information indicates that the data frame carries the first indication information, the second PPDU further includes at least one field for sensing. The number of fields for sensing in the second PPDU is determined based on the first indication information. The fields for sensing in the second PPDU can be used by the first communication device to perform sensing measurements.
[0061] Optionally, if the third indication information indicates that the data frame carries fifth indication information, the second PPDU is an existing PPDU carrying an ACK frame or a BA frame.
[0062] In combination with any one of the fifth to eighth aspects, in one possible implementation, when the third indication information is a first value, it indicates that the data frame carries the first indication information; and when the third indication information is a second value, it indicates that the data frame carries the fifth indication information. Exemplarily, the first value is 1 and the second value is 0; or the first value is 0 and the first value is 1.
[0063] In combination with any one of the fifth to eighth aspects, in one possible implementation, the first indication information includes one or more of the following: a transmit power of the first PPDU, an expected receive power, a number of combinations of fields used for sensing in the second PPDU, or a number of fields used for sensing in a combination of fields used for sensing. The transmit power and expected receive power of the first PPDU are used to determine the transmit power of the second PPDU.
[0064] In combination with any aspect from the fifth aspect to the eighth aspect, in a possible implementation, the above-mentioned first indication information also includes one or more of the following: a spatial stream allocated to the second PPDU, or an RU allocated to the second PPDU.
[0065] Optionally, the data frame belongs to the first user. The first PPDU also includes data frames of other users, such as data frames belonging to the second user.

[0067] In combination with any one of aspects 5 to 8, in one possible implementation, the physical layer header of the first PPDU includes fourth indication information. The fourth indication information is used to indicate that the type of the first PPDU is any one of the following: a non-perceptual PPDU, a perceptual PPDU, or a communication-perceptual PPDU.
[0068] In a ninth aspect, the present application provides a PPDU transmission method, which is applied to a first communication device, and the method includes: sending a first PPDU, the first PPDU including a data frame, the data frame including fifth indication information, and the fifth indication information is used to terminate the perception measurement session; receiving a second PPDU, the second PPDU including feedback for confirming whether the data frame is transmitted successfully, such as an ACK frame or a BA frame.
[0069] In the prior art, if the AP and STA want to close a perception measurement session, they can send a perception measurement termination frame, which requires re-competition for the channel. However, this application carries the instruction information for closing / terminating the perception measurement session in the data frame. This allows the perception measurement session to be closed while communicating, eliminating the need to re-compete for the channel and then send the perception measurement termination frame, thus saving the transmission time of the perception measurement termination frame and channel resources.
[0070] In a tenth aspect, the present application provides a PPDU transmission method, which is applied to a second communication device, the method including: receiving a first PPDU, the first PPDU including a data frame, the data frame including fifth indication information, the fifth indication information being used to terminate the perception measurement session; sending a second PPDU, the second PPDU including feedback for confirming whether the data frame is successfully transmitted, such as an ACK frame or a BA frame.
[0071] In an eleventh aspect, the present application provides a communication device, which may be a first communication device or a chip or functional module configured in the first communication device, and includes a processing unit and a transceiver unit. The processing unit is configured to generate a first PPDU; the transceiver unit is configured to send the first PPDU and receive a second PPDU, wherein the first PPDU includes a data frame, the data frame includes fifth indication information, and the fifth indication information is used to terminate the perception measurement session; and the second PPDU includes feedback, such as an ACK frame or a BA frame, for confirming whether the data frame is successfully transmitted.
[0072] In a twelfth aspect, the present application provides a communication device, which may be a second communication device or a chip or functional module configured in the second communication device, and includes a processing unit and a transceiver unit. The transceiver unit is configured to receive a first PPDU, the first PPDU including a data frame, the data frame including fifth indication information, the fifth indication information being used to terminate a perception measurement session; the processing unit is configured to generate a second PPDU; and the transceiver unit is further configured to send the second PPDU, the second PPDU including feedback, such as an ACK frame or a BA frame, for confirming whether the data frame was successfully transmitted.
[0073] In combination with any one of aspects 9 to 12, in one possible implementation, the fifth indication information includes one or more of the following: a measurement session identifier field, a terminate all triggered measurement sessions field, a terminate all non-triggered measurement sessions field, or a trigger-based or non-triggered measurement session type field. The specific meanings of these fields can be found in the description of the method embodiments below and are not described in detail here due to space limitations.
[0074] In conjunction with any of aspects 9 to 12, in one possible implementation, the data frame belongs to the first user, and the first PPDU also includes data frames of other users. The data frames of the other users may use the format of existing data frames and not carry the fifth indication information. Alternatively, some or all of the data frames of the other users may carry the fifth indication information, which is not limited in this application. It will be understood that this application can terminate a perception measurement session with a particular user in a multi-user scenario.
[0075] In combination with any aspect from the ninth aspect to the twelfth aspect, in a possible implementation, the fifth indication information is carried in the MAC header of the data frame.
[0076] In combination with any one of aspects 9 to 12, in one possible implementation, the data frame further includes sixth indication information. The sixth indication information is used to indicate whether the data frame carries the fifth indication information. Here, the sixth indication information indicates that the data frame carries the fifth indication information.
[0077] In combination with any one of aspects 9 to 12, in one possible implementation, the physical layer header of the first PPDU includes fourth indication information. The fourth indication information is used to indicate that the type of the first PPDU is any one of the following: a non-perceptual PPDU, a perceptual PPDU, or a communication-perceptual PPDU.
[0078] This application carries fourth indication information in the physical layer header of the PPDU to indicate the type of the PPDU, which can reduce the energy loss caused by the devices that do not participate in the perception during the perception process due to parsing the PPDU related to perception, achieve device energy saving, and maximize the reduction of the impact of the perception activity on the devices that do not participate in the perception.
[0079] In the thirteenth aspect, the present application provides a PPDU transmission method, which is applied to a first communication device, and the method includes: generating and sending a PPDU, the physical layer header of the PPDU including fourth indication information, and the fourth indication information is used to indicate that the type of the PPDU is any one of the following: non-perceptual PPDU, perceptual PPDU, or communication-perceptual PPDU.
[0080] A non-perception PPDU can be understood as a PPDU that is unrelated to perception technology, or does not carry perception-related information, or is only related to communication. A perception PPDU can be understood as a PPDU related to perception technology, or carries perception-related information, or is only related to perception. A communication-perception PPDU can be understood as a PPDU related to both communication and perception, or carries both communication data and perception-related information.
[0081] Exemplarily, the PPDU may be any type of PPDU, such as a PPDU specified in the 802.11ax protocol, a PPDU specified in the 802.11be protocol, or a PPDU specified in a future generation of 802.11 protocol, and this application does not impose any limitation thereto.
[0082] In existing technologies, APs and STAs exchange numerous frames during sensing. Within the AP's basic service set (BSS), there may be other STAs not participating in sensing. If these STAs are not in a sleep state, they will also receive sensing-related frames sent by other devices. When these STAs parse the receiving MAC address of a frame, they know the frame is not intended for them and stop further frame parsing. However, the MAC address is contained in the MAC portion of the frame. STAs must first parse the physical layer header before continuing with the MAC portion, thus consuming some of the STA's energy on useless frame parsing.
[0083] Therefore, this application includes fourth indication information in the physical layer header of a PPDU to indicate the PPDU type. This allows a device receiving the PPDU to determine whether to continue parsing subsequent fields by parsing the fourth indication information in the PPDU. This reduces energy consumption caused by parsing PPDUs related to perception by devices not participating in the perception process, achieving device energy conservation and minimizing the impact of perception activities on non-participating devices.
[0084] In the fourteenth aspect, the present application provides a PPDU transmission method, which is applied to a second communication device, and the method includes: receiving and parsing the PPDU, the physical layer header of the PPDU including fourth indication information, and the fourth indication information is used to indicate that the type of the PPDU is any one of the following: non-perceptual PPDU, perceptual PPDU, or communication-perceptual PPDU.

[0139] The technical solutions in the embodiments of the present application will be described clearly and completely below in conjunction with the drawings in the embodiments of the present application.
[0140] In the description of this application, "first" and "second" etc. are only used to distinguish different objects, rather than to describe a specific order. In addition, unless otherwise specified, " / " means "or", for example, A / B can mean A or B. "And / or" in this article is merely a description of the association relationship of associated objects, indicating that there can be three relationships, for example, A and / or B can mean: A exists alone, A and B exist at the same time, and B exists alone. In addition, "at least one" means one or more, and "plurality" means two or more. "At least one of the following items" or similar expressions refers to any combination of these items, including any combination of single items or plural items. For example, at least one of a, b, or c can mean: a, b, c; a and b; a and c; b and c; or a and b and c. Among them, a, b, c can be single or multiple.
[0141] The terms "comprise," "include," "have," and any variations thereof are intended to cover non-exclusive inclusions. For example, a process, method, system, product, or apparatus comprising a series of steps or elements is not limited to the listed steps or elements but may optionally include steps or elements not listed, or may optionally include other steps or elements inherent to the process, method, product, or apparatus.
[0142] In this application, words such as "exemplary" or "for example" are used to indicate examples, illustrations, or descriptions. Any embodiment or design described in this application as "exemplary," "for example," or "for example" should not be construed as being preferred or advantageous over other embodiments or designs. Rather, the use of words such as "exemplary," "for example," or "for example" is intended to present the relevant concepts in a concrete way.
[0143] It can be understood that in this application, "when", "if" and "if" all mean that the device will perform corresponding processing under certain objective circumstances, and do not limit the time. It does not require that the device must perform a judgment action when it is implemented, nor does it mean that there are other limitations.
[0144] The term "simultaneously" in this application may be understood as "in parallel", or at the same time point, or within a period of time, or within the same cycle, and may be understood in conjunction with the context.
[0145] Elements used in the singular herein are intended to mean "one or more" rather than "one and only one" unless specifically stated otherwise.
[0146] It is understood that in each embodiment of the present application, "A corresponds to B" means that there is a corresponding relationship between A and B, and B can be determined according to A. Determining B according to A does not mean determining B only according to A, but B can also be determined according to A and / or other information.
[0147] The following is a brief description of some terms or nouns involved in this application.
[0148] 1. Various roles in WLAN sensing
[0149] sensing initiator: A high-efficiency (HE) station (STA) or extremely high throughput (EHT) STA that initiates a sensing procedure by transmitting a Sensing Measurement Request frame, or a DMG STA that initiates a DMG sensing procedure by transmitting a DMG Sensing Measurement Request frame.
[0150] Sensing responder: A high-efficiency (HE) station (STA) or extremely high throughput (EHT) STA that participates in a sensing procedure by responding to a sensing initiator, or a DMG STA that participates in a DMG sensing procedure by responding to a sensing initiator.
[0151] sensing transmitter: A station (STA) that transmits PPDUs used for measurements in a sensing procedure or a directional multi-gigabit (DMG) sensing procedure.
[0152] sensing receiver: A station (STA) that is the intended recipient of PPDUs sent by a sensing transmitter and obtains measurements in either a sensing procedure or a directional multi-gigabit (DMG) sensing procedure.
[0153] It is understandable that with the evolution of standards, the meanings of the perception initiator, perception responder, perception transmitter, and perception receiver may change. This application is only used for illustrative purposes and does not constitute a limitation on the scope of protection of this application.
[0154] 2. General (or Universal) Perception Process
[0155] 802.11bf defines how communication devices can sense surrounding targets. The 802.11bf protocol categorizes sensing into low-frequency sensing and high-frequency sensing based on signal frequency. Furthermore, it categorizes sensing into trigger-based (TB) sensing measurement and non-trigger-based (non-TB) sensing measurement, depending on whether the access point (AP) is the sensing initiator. When the AP is the sensing initiator, sensing is a TB sensing measurement; when a non-access point station (non-AP STA) is the sensing initiator, sensing is a non-TB sensing measurement.
[0156] In this document, a non-AP STA may also be referred to as a station (STA), and the two can be used interchangeably.
[0157] Referring to Figure 1 , a schematic diagram of a general sensing process provided in an embodiment of the present application is shown. During the association phase, an AP and a non-AP STA can exchange sensing capability information. As shown in Figure 1 , a general sensing process may include three phases: a sensing measurement session, a sensing measurement exchange, and a sensing measurement session termination.
[0158] During the perception measurement session phase, the perception initiator and the perception responder can negotiate perception-related operational parameters, such as the measurement session ID, the role of the perception responder (herein, the role refers to whether the perception responder participates in the perception measurement exchange as a perception sender or a perception receiver), the maximum available bandwidth, the maximum number of transmitted space-time flows, the maximum number of received space-time flows, or the perception end time. The measurement session ID is allocated by the perception initiator during the perception measurement session phase.
[0159] In the sensing measurement exchange phase, the sensing transmitter and the sensing receiver perform sensing measurements. Sensing measurement exchanges can be divided into triggered sensing measurement exchanges (TB sensing measurement exchanges) and non-triggered sensing measurement exchanges (non-TB sensing measurement exchanges).
[0160] During the sensing measurement session termination phase, a sensing measurement session can be terminated explicitly or implicitly. Explicit termination can occur when the AP or non-AP STA sends a sensing measurement termination frame. Implicit termination can occur when the measurement session expiry timer set during the sensing measurement session expires.
[0161] It can be understood that when establishing a sensing measurement session, the sensing initiator and the sensing responder will agree on a value for the measurement setup expiry exponent, that is, the sensing end time; then the sensing initiator and the sensing responder each maintain a timer, namely the measurement session expiry timer. When the sensing initiator and the sensing responder successfully establish a sensing measurement session, the first interaction of a TB sensing measurement exchange, or the first interaction of a non-TB sensing measurement exchange, the timer (i.e., the measurement session expiry timer) will be updated to the measurement setup expiry exponent. When the measurement session expiry timer expires, the corresponding sensing measurement session terminates.
[0162] 3. Triggered and Untriggered Perception Measurement Exchange
[0163] Refer to Figure 2, which is a schematic diagram of the process of trigger-based perception measurement exchange provided in an embodiment of the present application. As shown in Figure 2, the trigger-based perception measurement exchange includes but is not limited to the following one or more phases: a polling phase, one or more null data packet announcement (NDPA) detection phases, one or more trigger frame (TF) detection phases, or a reporting phase. For example, the combination of phases that may appear in a trigger-based perception measurement exchange is shown in Table 1 below.
[0164] Table 1
[0165] In Table 1, the symbol “√” is used to indicate the presence of the phase.
[0166] As shown in Figure 2, during the polling phase, the AP sends a sensing polling trigger frame (TF) to STA1 through STA5. If STA1, STA2, STA4, and STA5 allow transmission, they reply with a CTS (clear to send)-to-self frame after a short inter-frame space (SIFS). During the NDPA sounding phase, the AP sends a sensing NDPA frame to STA4 through STA6. After a SIFS, the AP sends an NDP to STA4 through STA6. Because this NDP is from the sensing initiator to the sensing responder (SI2SR), it is represented in Figure 2 as an SI2SR NDP. STA4 through STA6 receive this NDP and perform sensing measurements. During the TF sounding phase, the AP sends a sensing sounding trigger frame (sensing sounding TF) to STA1 and STA2. After a SIFS, STA1 and STA2 each send an NDP to the AP. This NDP is from the sensing responder to the sensing initiator (SR2SI), so it is represented by SR2SI NDP in Figure 2. The AP receives the NDP and performs sensing measurements. During the reporting phase, if the AP sends a sensing report trigger frame (sensing report TF) to STA5 and STA6, then after a SIFS, STA5 and STA6 each return the corresponding sensing measurement report frame to the AP.
[0167] In one possible implementation, TF sounding (trigger frame detection) has another variant in addition to the form shown in Figure 2: sensing responder to sensing responder (SR2SR) detection (SR2SR sounding). In SR2SR sounding, the AP sends an SR2SR detection trigger frame to multiple STAs, and the SR2SR detection trigger frame specifies the role of each STA, that is, a sensing transmitter and multiple sensing receivers. Among them, the sensing transmitter sends an SR2SR NDP, and the sensing receiver uses the SR2SR NDP to perform sensing measurements. In SR2SR sounding, the AP can also participate in the sensing measurement as a sensing receiver. See Figure 3, which is a flow chart of the SR2SR detection provided in an embodiment of the present application. As shown in Figure 3, in the polling phase, the AP sends sensing pollingTF to STA1 to STA3; if STA1 to STA3 are allowed to send, a CTS-to-self frame is replied after one SIFS. In the TF sounding phase (also the SR2SR sounding phase), the AP sends an SR2SR detection trigger frame (SR2SR sounding TF) to STA1 to STA3. After one SIFS, STA1 sends an NDP to the AP, STA2, and STA3. Because this NDP is from sensing responder to sensing responder (SR2SR), it is represented by SR2SR NDP in Figure 3; the AP, STA2, and STA3 receive this NDP and perform perception measurements respectively.
[0168] Refer to Figure 4, which is a flow chart of the non-triggered sensing measurement exchange provided in an embodiment of the present application. In the non-TB sensing measurement exchange, the STA acts as the sensing initiator. As shown in Figure 4, the non-triggered sensing measurement exchange includes but is not limited to: a measurement sounding phase and a reporting phase. In the measurement sounding phase, the STA sends a sensing NDPA frame. After one SIFS, the STA sends an SI2SR NDP. After another SIFS, the AP, as the sensing responder, replies to the SR2SI NDP. After another SIFS, the reporting phase is entered, and the AP includes the measured results in the sensing measurement report frame and feeds it back to the STA (i.e., the sensing initiator).
[0169] It is understandable that the reporting phase is not required in the non-triggered perception measurement exchange. When the SI2SR NDP sent by the STA is not used for perception measurement, the AP will not use the SI2SR NDP for perception calculation, and thus there is no need to feed back the perception measurement report frame to the STA.
[0170] In one possible implementation, each sensing measurement exchange needs to be carried out within the time range of the sensing availability window. A sensing availability window may include one or more transmission opportunities (TXOPs). A TXOP may include one or more sensing measurement exchanges. For example, refer to Figure 5, which is a schematic diagram of a sensing availability window provided in an embodiment of the present application. Figure 5 shows a schematic diagram in which a sensing availability window includes one TXOP, and one TXOP includes two TB sensing measurement exchanges. As shown in Figure 5, the first TB sensing measurement exchange includes a Polling stage and a TF sounding stage; the second TB sensing measurement exchange includes a Polling stage, an NDPA sounding stage, and a Reporting stage. The specific implementation of each stage can be found in the previous description and will not be repeated here.
[0171] It can be understood that Figure 5 is only an example. This application does not limit the number of TXOPs included in a sensing available window, nor does it limit the number of sensing measurement exchanges included in a TXOP. Of course, the stages included in the TB sensing measurement exchange may also not be limited.
[0172] The following is a brief description of the system architecture involved in this application.
[0173] The technical solution provided in this application can be applied to WLAN sensing systems, such as the method provided in this application can be applied to the 802.11bf protocol, or a future generation of WLAN sensing protocols, etc. In addition, the method provided in this application can also be applied to other 802.11 protocols, such as the 802.11ax protocol, the 802.11be protocol, Wi-Fi 7 or the next generation of protocols, such as Wi-Fi 8, ultra-high reliability (UHR), ultra-high reliability and throughput (UHRT) or Wi-Fi AI, etc., which are not listed here one by one. The technical solution provided in this application can also be applied to wireless personal area networks (WPAN) systems based on ultra-wide band (UWB), such as the method provided in this application can be applied to IEEE 802.15 series protocols, such as 802.15.4a protocol, 802.15.4z protocol or 802.15.4ab protocol, or a future generation of UWB WPAN protocols, etc., which are not listed here one by one. The technical solution provided in this application can also be applied to the following communication systems, for example, the Internet of Things (IoT) system, the Vehicle to X (V2X), the Narrow Band Internet of Things (NB-IoT) system, devices in the Internet of Vehicles, IoT nodes and sensors in the Internet of Things (IoT), smart cameras in smart homes, smart remote controls, smart water and electricity meters, and sensors in smart cities, etc., or it can also be applicable to the Long Term Evolution (LTE) system, the fifth-generation (5G) communication system, and new communication systems that will emerge in the future development of communications.
[0174] Although this application is mainly described using a network deploying IEEE 802.11 as an example, those skilled in the art will readily appreciate that the various aspects of this application can be extended to other networks that adopt various standards or protocols, such as high-performance wireless LAN (HIPERLAN) (a wireless standard similar to the IEEE 802.11 standard, primarily used in Europe), wide area networks (WANs), wireless local area networks (WLANs), personal area networks (PANs), or other networks now known or developed in the future.
[0175] See Figure 6, which is a schematic diagram of the architecture of a communication system provided in an embodiment of the present application. As shown in Figure 6, the communication system includes one or more APs and one or more non-AP STAs (such as non-AP STA1 and non-AP STA2 in Figure 6). The non-AP STAs can associate with the AP and exchange sensing capability information with each other during the association phase. The AP can communicate and sense one or more non-AP STAs, and multiple non-AP STAs can also communicate and sense each other.
[0176] It should be understood that the example of a mobile phone as a non-AP STA and a router as an AP in Figure 6 is not intended to limit the types of APs and non-AP STAs used in the embodiments of this application. Furthermore, Figure 6 only illustrates one AP and two non-AP STAs, but the number of APs or non-AP STAs in a communication system can be greater or lesser, and this is not limited in the embodiments of this application.
[0177] In one possible implementation, non-AP STAs and APs can simultaneously support WLAN communication protocols and WLAN sensing protocols, such as the 802.11ax protocol and the 802.11bf protocol, or the 802.11be protocol and the 802.11bf protocol, etc. Of course, with the continuous evolution and development of communication technology, the WLAN sensing protocol may further include the next generation protocol of 802.11bf, and the WLAN communication protocol may further include the next generation protocol of 802.11be, etc.
[0178] Exemplarily, an access point (such as the AP in FIG6 ) is a device with wireless communication capabilities that supports communication using the WLAN protocol and has the ability to communicate with other devices in the WLAN network (such as stations or other access points). Of course, it can also have the ability to communicate with other devices. In a WLAN system, an access point can be referred to as an access point station (AP STA). This device with wireless communication capabilities can be a complete device, or it can be a chip or processing system installed in the complete device. The device installed with these chips or processing systems can implement the methods and functions of the embodiments of the present application under the control of the chip or processing system. The AP in the embodiments of the present application is a device that provides services for STAs and can support the 802.11 series of protocols. For example, the AP can be a communication entity such as a communication server, router, switch, or bridge; the AP can include various forms of macro base stations, micro base stations, relay stations, etc. Of course, the AP can also be the chip and processing system in these various forms of devices to implement the methods and functions of the embodiments of the present application. Exemplarily, the access point station (AP STA) can also integrate the functions of a separate non-AP STA.
[0179] For example, a non-access point station (non-AP STA) in a WLAN system may also be referred to as a station. A station (such as any non-AP STA in FIG. 6 ) is a device with wireless communication capabilities that supports communication using the WLAN protocol and has the ability to communicate with other stations or access points in the WLAN network. For example, a STA is any user communication device that allows a user to communicate with an AP and, in turn, with a WLAN. The device with wireless communication capabilities may be a complete device, or a chip or processing system installed in the complete device. Devices equipped with these chips or processing systems can implement the methods and functions of the embodiments of the present application under the control of the chip or processing system. For example, a STA may be a user device that can connect to the Internet, such as a tablet computer, desktop, laptop, notebook computer, ultra-mobile personal computer (UMPC), handheld computer, netbook, personal digital assistant (PDA), mobile phone, or an IoT node in the Internet of Things (IoT), an in-vehicle communication device in the Internet of Vehicles (IoV), an entertainment device, a gaming device or system, or a global positioning system device. A STA may also be the chip and processing system in these terminals. Illustratively, the function of a separate access point station (AP STA) may also be integrated into a non-AP STA.
[0180] WLAN systems can provide high-speed and low-latency transmission. As WLAN application scenarios continue to evolve, WLAN systems will be applied to more scenarios or industries, such as the Internet of Things industry, the Internet of Vehicles industry, the banking industry, corporate offices, sports stadiums and exhibition halls, concert halls, hotel rooms, dormitories, wards, classrooms, supermarkets, squares, streets, production workshops and warehouses, etc. Of course, devices supporting WLAN communication (such as access points or sites) can be sensor nodes in smart cities (such as smart water meters, smart electricity meters, and smart air detection nodes), smart devices in smart homes (such as smart cameras, projectors, displays, televisions, speakers, refrigerators, washing machines, etc.), nodes in the Internet of Things, entertainment terminals (such as wearable devices such as augmented reality (AR) and virtual reality (VR)), smart devices in smart offices (such as printers, projectors, loudspeakers, speakers, etc.), Internet of Vehicles devices in the Internet of Vehicles, infrastructure in daily life scenarios (such as vending machines, self-service navigation counters in supermarkets, self-service cash registers, self-service ordering machines, etc.), and equipment in large sports and music venues, etc. The specific forms of sites and access points in the embodiments of the present application are not limited and are only illustrative.
[0181] It should be understood that the 802.11 standard focuses on the physical layer (PHY) and medium access control (MAC) layer. In one example, see Figure 7, which is a schematic diagram of the structure of the access point provided in an embodiment of the present application. The AP can be multi-antenna / multi-radio or single-antenna / single-radio, and the antenna / radio is used to send / receive PPDUs. In one implementation, the antenna or radio part of the AP can be separated from the main body of the AP, forming a remote layout structure. In Figure 7, the AP can include a physical layer processing circuit and a medium access control processing circuit. The physical layer processing circuit can be used to process physical layer signals, and the MAC layer processing circuit can be used to process MAC layer signals. In another example, see Figure 8, which is a schematic diagram of the structure of the site provided in an embodiment of the present application. Figure 8 shows a schematic diagram of the STA structure of a single antenna / single radio. In actual scenarios, the STA can also be multi-antenna / multi-radio, and can be a device with more than two antennas. The antenna / radio is used to send / receive data packets. In one implementation, the antenna or radio part of the STA can be separated from the main body of the STA, forming a remote layout structure. In FIG8 , the STA may include a PHY processing circuit and a MAC processing circuit. The physical layer processing circuit may be used to process physical layer signals, and the MAC layer processing circuit may be used to process MAC layer signals.
[0182] In some embodiments, the AP in the communication system shown in FIG. 6 can be replaced with an access point multi-link device (AP multi-link device, AP MLD), and the non-AP STA can be replaced with a non-AP multi-link device (non-AP MLD). That is, the technical solution provided in the embodiments of the present application can also be applied to scenarios where a multi-link device (MLD) communicates with a multi-link device. A multi-link device is a wireless communication device that supports parallel transmission of multiple links. Compared with devices that only support single-link transmission, a multi-link device has higher transmission efficiency and higher throughput. A multi-link device includes one or more affiliated stations (STAs). An affiliated STA is a logical station that can operate on a link. The affiliated station can be an access point (AP) or a non-access point station (non-AP STA). A multi-link device whose affiliated station is an AP can be called an AP MLD, and a multi-link device whose affiliated station is a non-AP STA can be called a non-AP MLD.
[0183] In one possible implementation, the multi-link device involved in the embodiment of the present application (which can be either a non-AP MLD or an AP MLD) is a device with wireless communication function. The device can be a complete device, or a chip or processing system installed in the complete device. Devices installed with these chips or processing systems can implement the methods and functions of the embodiments of the present application under the control of these chips or processing systems.
[0184] WLAN sensing can utilize widely deployed Wi-Fi devices to perceive surrounding objects. Since the primary function of existing Wi-Fi devices is data communication, there are scenarios in WLAN sensing where communication and perception occur simultaneously. However, the existing 802.11bf protocol and other Wi-Fi technology solutions do not allow for simultaneous perception measurements and communication. In other words, when a higher-priority communication requirement arises during WLAN sensing based on the 802.11bf protocol, how to perform both communication and perception measurements simultaneously without interrupting existing perception measurements remains to be solved. Alternatively, when a perception requirement arises during data communication, how to perform perception measurements simultaneously without interrupting data communication remains to be solved.
[0185] In view of this, an embodiment of the present application provides a PPDU transmission method and device, which carries perception-related indication information in a data frame to determine the transmission power of the communication PPDU sent by the other end and the number of fields used for perception in the communication PPDU, thereby realizing simultaneous (or parallel) communication and perception measurements, reducing the degradation of communication QoS or perception quality caused by conflicts between perception measurements and communication.
[0186] In addition, an embodiment of the present application also provides a PPDU transmission method and device, which carries indication information in the physical layer header (PHY header) of the PPDU, used to indicate whether the type of this PPDU is a non-perception PPDU, a perception PPDU, or a communication-perception PPDU; in this way, for devices that do not have perception capabilities or devices that do not participate in perception, when the type of the PPDU is a perception PPDU, by reading the indication information in the PHY header, the parsing of subsequent fields can be terminated in advance, thereby reducing energy loss and achieving device energy saving.
[0187] The technical solution provided in this application will be described in detail below with reference to more drawings.
[0188] In one possible implementation, the technical solution provided by the present application can be applied to scenarios where data communication and perception occur simultaneously. For example, refer to Figure 9, which is a schematic diagram of an application scenario provided by an embodiment of the present application. Figure 9 shows a scenario in which a higher priority communication demand arises during the process of performing WLAN perception based on the 802.11bf protocol. As shown in Figure 9, after the AP and STA negotiate operating parameters related to perception through a sensing measurement request frame and a sensing measurement response frame, that is, after the sensing measurement session phase, a communication demand arises, and the sensing measurement exchange between the AP and the STA has not yet been completed. In this case, the AP and the STA have both perception needs and communication needs.
[0189] It can be understood that the application scenario shown in Figure 9 is only an example and does not constitute a limitation on the scope of protection of this application. Any scenario in which data communication and perception occur simultaneously is within the scope of protection of this application.
[0190] In order to facilitate the clear description of the technical solution of the present application, the present application is described through a plurality of embodiments, and the specific embodiments are as follows. In the present application, unless otherwise specified, the same or similar parts between the various embodiments or implementation methods can refer to each other. In the various embodiments of the present application, and the various implementation methods / implementation methods / implementation methods in each embodiment, if there is no special explanation and logical conflict, the terms and / or descriptions between different embodiments and the various implementation methods / implementation methods / implementation methods in each embodiment are consistent and can be referenced to each other. The technical features in different embodiments and the various implementation methods / implementation methods / implementation methods in each embodiment can be combined to form new embodiments, implementation methods, implementation methods, or implementation methods according to their inherent logical relationships. The implementation methods of the present application described below do not constitute a limitation on the scope of protection of the present application.
[0191] The communication device in this application can support both WLAN communication protocols and WLAN sensing protocols. WLAN communication protocols may include, but are not limited to, 802.11ax, 802.11be, Wi-Fi 7, or 802.11be's next-generation protocols, such as Wi-Fi 8, UHR, UHRT, or Wi-Fi AI. WLAN sensing protocols may include, but are not limited to, 802.11bf or 802.11bf's next-generation protocols.
[0192] In one possible implementation, the first communication device in the present application may be an AP, and the second communication device may be a non-AP STA; or, the first communication device is a non-AP STA, and the second communication device is an AP; for details, please refer to the description of the embodiment below.
[0193] See Figure 10, which is a schematic diagram of the first process of the PPDU transmission method provided in an embodiment of the present application. This method primarily describes the signaling interaction process and several possible frame formats for single-user uplink and downlink communications that enable perception measurement. In this embodiment of the present application, for single-user downlink communications, the first communication device is an AP, and the second communication device is a non-AP STA (or STA); for single-user uplink communications, the first communication device is a non-AP STA (or STA), and the second communication device is an AP.
[0194] As shown in FIG10 , the PPDU transmission method includes but is not limited to the following steps:
[0195] S101, a first communication device generates a first PPDU, the first PPDU including a data frame, the data frame including first indication information, the first indication information being used to determine one or more of the following: a transmission power of a second PPDU from a second communication device, or the number of fields for perception in the second PPDU.
[0196] S102: The first communication device sends the first PPDU.
[0197] Correspondingly, the second communication device receives the first PPDU.
[0198] S103: The second communication device parses the first PPDU to obtain the first indication information.
[0199] In one possible implementation, the first PPDU includes a data frame, which may be any type of data frame, such as a data frame in the 802.11ax protocol, a data frame in the 802.11be protocol, or a data frame in a future generation of 802.11 communication protocols, and is not limited in this embodiment of the present application. The data frame may be a MAC frame, and the MAC header of the data frame may include first indication information, which may be used to determine one or more of the following: the transmit power of the second PPDU from the second communication device, or the number of fields used for sensing in the second PPDU.
[0200] For example, the first indication information can be called a single user (SU) sensing parameter information (SU sensing parameters information) field. Of course, the first indication information can also have other names, such as a sensing information field, or a sensing parameter field, etc. The embodiment of the present application does not limit the field name of the first indication information. Referring to Figure 11a, Figure 11a is a schematic diagram of the first possible frame format of a data frame provided by an embodiment of the present application. As shown in Figure 11a, the MAC header of the data frame includes but is not limited to: a high throughput (HT) control (HT Control) field. The HT Control field includes but is not limited to: a single user sensing parameter information (SU sensing parameters Info) field (i.e., the first indication information). Exemplarily, the length of the SU sensing parameters Info field is 26 bits, and the embodiment of the present application does not limit the length of the SU sensing parameters Info field. It can be understood that the HT Control field is a field shared by multiple protocol versions. For example, when the first two bits of the HT Control field are "10," it indicates that the HT Control field is used by the 802.11ac protocol. When the first two bits of the HT Control field are "11," it indicates that the HT Control field is used by the 802.11ax protocol, indicating that the last 30 bits of the HT Control field are the Aggregation Control (A-Control) field. For example, the first two bits of the HT Control field shown in Figure 11a are "11," indicating that the data frame is an 802.11ax data frame. The frame body of the data frame contains data transmitted by the first communication device to the second communication device.
[0201] It is understood that the lengths and meanings of other fields not described in Figure 11a can be found in existing standards, such as the description of the 802.11ax protocol, and are not described in detail in this embodiment of the present application. It is also understood that Figure 11a merely illustrates the structure of a data frame in the 802.11ax protocol. The data frame in this embodiment of the present application can be any type of data frame, and any data frame containing the first indication information is within the scope of protection of this application.
[0202] In one possible implementation, the MAC header of the above-mentioned data frame also includes third indication information. The third indication information can be used to indicate whether the data frame carries the first indication information. Exemplarily, when the third indication information is the first value, it indicates that the data frame carries the first indication information; when the third indication information is the second value or the third indication information has no value, it indicates that the data frame does not carry the first indication information. In the embodiment of the present application, the third indication information is set to the first value, which is used to indicate that the data frame carries the first indication information. Among them, the first value is 1 and the second value is 0; or the first value is 0 and the first value is 1; this embodiment of the present application is not limited.
[0203] For example, the third indication information can be called the sensing parameters presence field. Of course, the third indication information can also have other names, such as the sensing information presence field, etc., which is not limited by the embodiment of the present application. Referring to Figure 11b, Figure 11b is a schematic diagram of the second possible frame format of the data frame provided in the embodiment of the present application. As shown in Figure 11b, the HT Control field of the data frame includes but is not limited to the single-user sensing information (SU sensing Info) field, and the single-user sensing information field includes the sensing parameter presence field (i.e., the third indication information) and the SU sensing parameters Info field (i.e., the first indication information). Exemplarily, the length of the sensing parameter presence field is 1 bit. When the sensing parameter presence field is the first value, it indicates that the SU sensing parameters Info field exists in the data frame, that is, the data frame carries the first indication information; when the sensing parameter presence field is the second value, it indicates that the SU sensing parameters Info field does not exist in the data frame, that is, the data frame does not carry the first indication information. In the embodiment of the present application, the sensing parameter presence field is set to the first value, indicating that the first indication information exists in the data frame. Exemplarily, the length of the SU Sensing Parameters Info field is 25 bits. Embodiments of the present application do not limit the length of the Sensing Parameters Presence field and the SU Sensing Parameters Info field. The first two bits of the HT Control field shown in Figure 11b are "11," indicating that the data frame is an 802.11ax data frame. The frame body of the data frame contains data transmitted from the first communication device to the second communication device.
[0204] For another example, the above-mentioned data frame does not carry the first indication information and may include: the data frame carries other indication information, such as the fifth indication information, which is used to terminate the perception measurement session. In other words, the above-mentioned third indication information can be used to indicate that the data frame carries the first indication information, or to indicate that the data frame carries the fifth indication information. Exemplarily, when the third indication information is the first value, it indicates that the data frame carries the first indication information; when the third indication information is the second value, it indicates that the data frame carries the fifth indication information. For the specific implementation of the fifth indication information, please refer to the description of the embodiment shown in Figure 21 below, which is not described in detail here. Here, the third indication information can be referred to as a function indication field or a function indication bit; of course, the third indication information can also have other names, which are not limited by the embodiments of the present application.
[0205] Refer to Figure 11c, which is a schematic diagram of the third possible frame format of the data frame provided in an embodiment of the present application. As shown in Figure 11c, the HT Control field of the data frame includes but is not limited to the single-user sensing information (SU sensing Info) field, and the single-user sensing information field includes: a function indication (Function indication) field (i.e., the third indication information), and, a SU sensing parameters Info field (i.e., the first indication information) or a sensing measurement termination (sensing measurement termination) field (i.e., the fifth indication information). Exemplarily, the length of the function indication field is 1 bit. When the function indication field is the first value, it indicates that the last 25 bits of the HT control field are the SU sensing parameters Info field, or that the data frame carries the SU sensing parameters Info field, that is, the data frame carries the first indication information. When the function indication field is the second value, it indicates that the last 25 bits of the HT control field are the sensing measurement termination field, or that the data frame carries the sensing measurement termination field, that is, the data frame carries the fifth indication information. In this embodiment of the present application, the function indication field is set to the first value, indicating that the data frame carries the first indication information. Exemplarily, the length of the SU Sensing Parameters Info field and the Sensing Measurement Termination field are both 25 bits. The embodiments of the present application do not limit the length of the Function Indication field, the SU Sensing Parameters Info field, and the Sensing Measurement Termination field. The first two bits of the HT Control field shown in Figure 11c are "11," indicating that the data frame is a data frame in the 802.11ax protocol. The frame body of the data frame contains data transmitted by the first communication device to the second communication device.
[0206] It can be understood that the length and meaning of other fields not introduced in Figure 11b and Figure 11c can be referred to in existing standards, such as the description of the 802.11ax protocol, and will not be described in detail in the embodiments of this application.
[0207] In one possible implementation, the first indication information (such as the SU sensing parameters Info field) may include one or more of the following: the transmit power of the first PPDU, the expected receive power of the first communication device, the number of combinations of fields used for sensing in the second PPDU, or the number of fields used for sensing in the combination of fields used for sensing. In one possible implementation, the first indication information may also include one or more of the following: a spatial stream allocated to the second PPDU, or a resource unit (RU) allocated to the second PPDU.
[0208] The transmit power of the first PPDU and the expected receive power can be used to determine the transmit power of the second PPDU. It is understood that the transmit power of the first PPDU carried in the data frame can be used to calculate the path loss between the first communication device and the second communication device. For example, the difference between the transmit power of the first PPDU and the receive power of the second communication device when receiving the first PPDU is the path loss. The path loss plus the expected receive power of the first communication device can be used to determine the transmit power of the second PPDU sent by the second communication device.
[0209] In one possible implementation, the number of fields used for sensing in the second PPDU can be determined by the number of combinations of fields used for sensing and the number of fields used for sensing in each combination of fields used for sensing. For example, if the number of fields used for sensing in each combination of fields used for sensing is the same, the number of fields used for sensing in the second PPDU is equal to the product of the number of combinations and the number of fields used for sensing in each combination. For another example, assuming that the number of fields used for sensing in each combination of fields used for sensing is not exactly the same, the number of fields used for sensing in the second PPDU is equal to the sum of the number of fields used for sensing in each combination of fields used for sensing. In one possible implementation, the number of fields used for sensing in each combination of fields used for sensing can be predefined, preconfigured, or pre-negotiated. Thus, the number of fields used for sensing in each combination of fields used for sensing may not be included in the first indication information, but may also be included in the first indication information, and this is not a limitation in the present embodiment. For example: the number of fields used for perception in each combination of fields used for perception is the same, and the number of fields used for perception in each combination can be predefined or preconfigured. Then the first indication information does not need to include the number of fields used for perception in each combination of fields used for perception, but only needs to include the number of combinations of fields used for perception in the second PPDU.
[0210] In one possible implementation, the field used for perception may be a long training field (LTF) of the first standard. Exemplarily, the first standard may be the 802.11ax protocol, or the 802.11be protocol, or a future generation of 802.11 communication protocol. Assuming that the first standard is the 802.11ax protocol, the field used for perception may be a high-efficiency long training field (HE-LTF), the combination of the fields used for perception may be a HE-LTF repetition block (HE-LTF repetition block), and the number of fields used for perception in the combination of the fields used for perception is the number of HE-LTFs in the HE-LTF repetition block. Assuming that the first standard is the 802.11be protocol, the above-mentioned field for perception can be an extremely high throughput long training field (EHT-LTF), the above-mentioned combination of fields for perception can be an EHT-LTF repetition block (EHT-LTF repetition block), and the number of fields for perception in the above-mentioned combination of fields for perception is the number of EHT-LTFs in the EHT-LTF repetition block.
[0211] It can be understood that the above-mentioned field for perception can not only be used for perception measurement, but also can realize other functions, such as channel estimation. This application focuses on the function of this field for perception measurement. It can also be understood that in each embodiment of the present application, "field for perception" can also be referred to as "sequence for perception", and a field for perception (such as a HE-LTF or an EHT-LTF) can also be understood as a sequence for perception.
[0212] Referring to Figure 12, Figure 12 is a schematic diagram of the frame format of the single-user sensing parameter information field provided in an embodiment of the present application. As shown in Figure 12, the SU sensing parameters Info field (i.e., the first indication information) includes but is not limited to one or more of the following: sensing initiator (SI) transmit power (SI Tx Power) field, uplink (UL) target receive power (UL Target Receiver Power) field, SR2SI repetition (SR2SI repetition, SR2SI Rep) field, and SR2SI number of space-time streams (SR2SI NSTS) field.
[0213] Among them, the SI Tx Power field is used to indicate the transmit power of the sensing initiator (i.e., the first communication device) when sending a frame carrying this field (i.e., a data frame or the first PPDU). The UL Target Receiver Power field is used to indicate the expected receive power of the first communication device. The frame receiver (the second communication device in the embodiment of the present application) can adjust the transmit power of the subsequent PPDU (such as the second PPDU) through this field. The SR2SI Rep field can be used to indicate the number of HE-LTF repetition blocks in the second PPDU, and the SR2SI NSTS field can be used to indicate the number of HE-LTFs in each HE-LTF repetition block.
[0214] In some scenarios, the above data frame may not be a data frame in the 802.11ax protocol. For example, when the above data frame is a data frame in the 802.11be protocol, the SR2SI Rep field and the SR2SI NSTS field may respectively indicate the number of EHT-LTF repetition blocks and the number of EHT-LTFs in each EHT-LTF repetition block.
[0215] It can be understood that the names and lengths of the various fields in the SU sensing parameters Info field are not limited in the embodiments of the present application. For example, as shown in Figure 12, when the length of the SU sensing parameters Info field is 26 bits, the reserved bits in the SU sensing parameters Info field are 7 bits; when the length of the SU sensing parameters Info field is 25 bits, the reserved bits in the SU sensing parameters Info field are 6 bits.
[0216] Optionally, the SU sensing parameters Info field (i.e., the first indication information) may further include: a spatial stream (SS) allocation (SS Allocation) field, or a random access (RA) resource unit information (RA-RU Information) field; not shown in Figure 12. The SS Allocation field may be used to indicate the spatial stream allocated to the second PPDU, and the RA-RU Information field may be used to indicate the RU allocated to the second PPDU. Exemplarily, the SS Allocation field or the RA-RU Information field may be represented using the reserved bits in Figure 12.
[0217] It can be understood that when the SU sensing parameters Info field (i.e., the first indication information) is included in the data frame sent by the first communication device, the first communication device can instruct the second communication device how to feed back the second PPDU, thereby using the second PPDU for perception calculation.
[0218] In one possible implementation, after step S103, the PPDU transmission method shown in FIG. 10 further includes:
[0219] S104, the second communication device sends a second PPDU according to the above-mentioned first indication information, and the second PPDU includes at least one field for perception and feedback for confirming whether the above-mentioned data frame is transmitted successfully, wherein the number of fields for perception in the second PPDU is determined based on the above-mentioned first indication information.
[0220] Correspondingly, the first communication device receives the second PPDU.
[0221] In one possible implementation, the second communication device may obtain the first indication information by parsing the data frame in the first PPDU. If the first indication information is used to determine the transmit power of the second PPDU from the second communication device, the second communication device may use the transmit power to send the second PPDU. At this time, the physical layer header (PHY header) of the second PPDU may include a field for sensing, such as HE-LTF or EHT-LTF. Exemplarily, if the first indication information (such as the SU sensing parameters Info field) includes the SI Tx Power field and the UL Target Receiver Power field, but does not include the SR2SI Rep field and the SR2SI NSTS field, the number of fields used for sensing in the second PPDU may follow the number of HE-LTFs or EHT-LTFs in the existing ACK PPDU. For example, the second PPDU may be an existing ACK PPDU or an existing PPDU carrying a BA frame. If the first indication information is used to determine the number of fields used for sensing in the second PPDU, the second communication device may determine the transmit power by itself and send the second PPDU. At this time, the physical layer header of the second PPDU includes at least one field for sensing, and the number of fields for sensing in the second PPDU is equal to the number determined based on the first indication information. Exemplarily, if the first indication information (such as the SU sensing parameters Info field) includes the SR2SI Rep field and / or the SR2SI NSTS field, but does not include the SI Tx Power field and the UL Target Receiver Power field, then the number of fields for sensing in the second PPDU is equal to: the product of the number of HE-LTF repetition blocks and the number of HE-LTFs in each HE-LTF repetition block, or the product of the number of EHT-LTF repetition blocks and the number of EHT-LTFs in each EHT-LTF repetition block.
[0222] Of course, if the first indication information is used to determine: the transmission power of the second PPDU from the second communication device, and the number of fields used for perception in the second PPDU, the second communication device uses the transmission power to send the second PPDU, and the number of fields used for perception in the second PPDU is equal to the number determined based on the first indication information.
[0223] It is understandable that the more fields used for sensing in the second PPDU, the better the sensing performance. Therefore, by indicating the number of fields used for sensing in the second PPDU, the sensing performance can be improved.
[0224] In one possible implementation, the physical layer service data unit (PHY service data unit, PSDU) of the second PPDU includes an acknowledgment (ACK) frame or a block acknowledgment (BA) frame. The ACK frame can be used to confirm the successful transmission of the data frame in the first PPDU, and the BA frame can be used to confirm whether the data frame in the first PPDU is successfully transmitted.
[0225] For example, see Figure 13a, which is a schematic diagram of a possible frame format of the second PPDU provided in an embodiment of the present application. Figure 13a shows a possible frame format of the second PPDU when the field used for sensing is HE-LTF. As shown in Figure 13a, the PHY header of the second PPDU includes at least one HE-LTF, and the number of HE-LTFs in the second PPDU is variable, which is indicated by the above-mentioned first indication information (such as the SU sensing parameters Info field). For the specific indication method, please refer to the previous description and will not be repeated here.
[0226] For another example, refer to Figure 13b, which is a schematic diagram of another possible frame format of the second PPDU provided in an embodiment of the present application. Figure 13b shows a possible frame format of the second PPDU when the field used for perception is EHT-LTF. As shown in Figure 13b, the PHY header of the second PPDU includes at least one EHT-LTF, and the number of EHT-LTFs in the second PPDU is variable, which is indicated by the above-mentioned first indication information (such as the SU sensing parameters Info field). For the specific indication method, please refer to the previous description and will not be repeated here.
[0227] It can be understood that, as shown in Figures 13a and 13b, the PSDU of the second PPDU carries an ACK frame or a BA frame, and the specific type of confirmation frame carried needs to be determined according to the type of data frame sent by the other party (the first communication device in the embodiment of the present application).
[0228] It can be understood that the structure of the second PPDU in the embodiment of the present application is not limited to the two PPDU structures shown in Figures 13a and 13b. When perception appears simultaneously with other versions of the Wi-Fi protocol, such as Wi-Fi 5 or the future Wi-Fi 8, the ACK PPDU under the protocol version can be constructed according to the same design method as a second PPDU that can be used for perception measurement, so that it can be better used for perception calculation.
[0229] S105: The first communication device performs perception measurement according to at least one field used for perception in the second PPDU.
[0230] In one possible implementation, after receiving the second PPDU, the first communication device may perform a perception calculation using at least one perception field (e.g., HE-LTF or EHT-LTF) in its physical layer header. The specific process of the perception calculation can refer to the prior art and is not described in detail in the embodiments of this application. In addition, the first communication device may also be informed of the successful data transmission between the first communication device and the second communication device through the ACK frame carried in the second PPDU, that is, the successful transmission of the data frame in the first PPDU. If the second PPDU carries a BA frame, the first communication device can be informed of whether the data transmission between the first communication device and the second communication device is successful.
[0231] Therefore, through the embodiments of the present application, the first communication device and the second communication device can realize simultaneous (or parallel) communication and perception measurement, reducing the degradation of communication QoS or perception quality caused by the conflict between perception measurement and communication.
[0232] It is understood that the communication in the embodiments of the present application can be single-user downlink communication or single-user uplink communication. To better understand the process of the PPDU transmission method in the embodiments of the present application, two examples are provided below. It is understood that in the following two examples, the AP and STA have completed the establishment of the perception measurement session, that is, the AP and STA have negotiated the operating parameters required for the perception process.
[0233] For example, refer to Figure 14, which is a schematic diagram of a possible perception measurement exchange provided by an embodiment of the present application. Figure 14 describes how the AP and the STA perform perception measurements while performing downlink communication. As shown in Figure 14, the AP learns that the STA is capable of perception through the CTS-to-Self frame replied by the STA during the Polling phase. If the AP has cached data that needs to be sent to the STA, the AP can execute the downlink communication TF sounding phase (DL Communication TF Sounding phase) to complete the perception measurement and downlink data transmission at the same time. It can be understood that the DL Communication TF sounding phase is a phase designed by the embodiment of the present application for simultaneously realizing communication and perception measurement. In the DL Communication TF Sounding phase, the AP (first communication device) first sends a TI_DATA frame (i.e., the data frame in the first PPDU). A possible frame structure of the TI_DATA frame is shown in any one of Figures 11a to 11c above. The frame is a DATA frame with a SU Sensing parameters Info field (i.e., the first indication information). The STA (second communication device) responds with a TS_ACK PPDU (i.e., the second PPDU) after a SIFS. A possible frame structure of the TS_ACK PPDU is shown in Figure 13a or Figure 13b above. The number of HE-LTF / EHT-LTF fields (i.e., fields used for sensing) in the TS_ACK PPDU is indicated by the SU Sensing parameters Info field in the TI_DATA frame. After receiving the TS_ACK PPDU (i.e., the second PPDU), the AP (first communication device) can use the HE-LTF / EHT-LTF in its PHY header for sensing calculations. At the same time, the ACK frame or BA frame carried in the TS_ACK PPDU can determine whether the data transmission between it and the STA is successful. Therefore, through the DL Communication TF Sounding phase, the AP and STA simultaneously complete communication and sensing measurements.
[0234] Figure 14 also shows the NDPA detection phase and reporting phase. In fact, there are multiple phase combinations of the perception measurement exchange process that can simultaneously implement communication and perception measurement, but it is necessary to ensure that the perception measurement exchange process contains the DL communication TF sounding phase of the embodiment of the present application, because this phase can simultaneously implement single-user downlink communication and perception measurement.
[0235] For example, refer to Figure 15, which is a schematic diagram of another possible perception measurement exchange provided by an embodiment of the present application. Figure 15 describes how the AP and STA perform perception measurements while performing uplink communication. As shown in Figure 15, the STA, as a sensing initiator, needs to perceive with the AP and has cached data to be sent to the AP. The STA can simultaneously complete the perception measurement and uplink data transmission with the AP by executing the uplink communication non-TB sounding phase (UL Communication non-TB Sounding phase). It can be understood that the UL Communication non-TB sounding phase is a phase designed by the embodiment of the present application to simultaneously realize communication and perception measurement. In the UL Communication non-TB Sounding phase, the STA (first communication device) first sends a TI_DATA frame (i.e., the data frame in the first PPDU). A possible frame structure of the TI_DATA frame is shown in any one of Figures 11a to 11c above. The frame is a DATA frame with a SU Sensing parameters Info field (i.e., the first indication information). The AP (second communication device) replies with a TS_ACK PPDU (i.e., the second PPDU) after a SIFS. A possible frame structure of the TS_ACK PPDU is shown in Figure 13a or Figure 13b above. The number of HE-LTF / EHT-LTF (i.e., the field used for perception) in the TS_ACK PPDU is indicated by the SU Sensing parameters Info field in the TI_DATA frame. After receiving the TS_ACK PPDU (i.e., the second PPDU), the STA (first communication device) can use the HE-LTF / EHT-LTF in its PHY header for perception calculations. At the same time, the ACK frame or BA frame carried in the TS_ACK PPDU can be used to know whether the data transmission between it and the AP is successful. Therefore, through the UL Communication non-TB Sounding phase, the AP and the STA simultaneously complete uplink communication and perception measurements.
[0236] It will be appreciated that, for the sake of brevity, FIG15 only exemplarily illustrates the uplink communication non-TB detection phase. In actual applications, a non-TB awareness measurement exchange may also include other phases, such as a reporting phase. Of course, a non-TB awareness measurement exchange may also include only the uplink communication non-TB detection phase, which is not limited in the embodiments of the present application.
[0237] It can be seen that the difference between performing perception measurement in single-user uplink communication and single-user downlink communication is that in single-user uplink communication, the sensing initiator is the STA, and the perception measurement calculation is also performed by the STA, while in single-user downlink communication, the sensing initiator is the AP, and the perception measurement calculation is also performed by the AP.
[0238] In the embodiment of the present application, the first communication device sends a TI_DATA frame (i.e., a data frame in the first PPDU) with a SU Sensing parameters Info field (i.e., the first indication information), and the second communication device replies with a TS_ACK PPDU (i.e., the second PPDU) that can be used for perception. On the one hand, the frame body of the TI_DATA frame contains a data payload, and the TS_ACK PPDU contains an ACK / BA frame, and the interaction between the two can ensure normal communication. On the other hand, the TI_DATA frame contains the SU Sensing parameters Info field, which can be used to indicate the sending of a perception PPDU (such as a TS_ACK PPDU), and the TS_ACK PPDU is a perception PPDU indicated by the TI_DATA frame. The interaction between the two completes the perception, so the embodiment of the present application ensures that single-user uplink and downlink communication and perception are carried out simultaneously. In the prior art, if there is a higher priority communication demand during perception, the perception process will be terminated, resulting in a delay in obtaining the perception result and a reduction in the perception service quality. Alternatively, if there is a higher priority perception demand during communication, the communication needs to be terminated, resulting in an increase in data delay and a decrease in QoS.
[0239] Therefore, the embodiments of the present application can also reduce the degradation of communication QoS or perception quality caused by the conflict between perception and communication.
[0240] See Figure 16, which is a schematic diagram of a second flow chart of the PPDU transmission method provided in an embodiment of the present application. This method primarily describes the signaling interaction process and possible frame formats for multi-user downlink communication that enables perception measurement. In this embodiment of the present application, the first communication device is an AP, and the second communication device is a non-AP STA (or STA).
[0241] As shown in FIG16 , the PPDU transmission method includes but is not limited to the following steps:
[0242] S201, a first communication device generates a first PPDU, where the first PPDU includes data frames of multiple users, where a first data frame exists among the data frames of the multiple users, and where the first data frame includes first indication information, where the first indication information is used to determine one or more of the following: the transmit power of a second PPDU from a second communication device and / or the number of fields for perception in the second PPDU, and the spatial stream allocated to the second PPDU and / or the RU allocated to the second PPDU.
[0243] S202: The first communication device sends the first PPDU.
[0244] Correspondingly, the second communication device receives the first PPDU. The third communication device may also receive the first PPDU.
[0245] S203: The second communication device parses the first PPDU. Correspondingly, the third communication device may also parse the first PPDU.
[0246] In one possible implementation, the first PPDU may include data frames for multiple users. The data frames may be any type of data frames, such as data frames in the 802.11ax protocol, data frames in the 802.11be protocol, or data frames in a future generation of 802.11 communication protocols, and are not limited in this embodiment of the present application.
[0247] If the first communication device wishes to perform a sensing measurement with a particular user, the first communication device may include first indication information in the data frame corresponding to the user. In other words, a first data frame exists among the data frames of the multiple users, and the first data frame carries the first indication information. If the first communication device wishes to perform sensing measurements with multiple users, the first communication device may include corresponding indication information in the data frames corresponding to the multiple users. For example, assuming that the first PPDU includes data frames for three users, and the first communication device wishes to perform sensing measurements with two of the users, the first communication device may include corresponding indication information in the data frames corresponding to the two users (e.g., the first data frame and the second data frame). For example, the first data frame may include the first indication information, and the second data frame may include the second indication information. The frame formats of the first indication information and the second indication information may be the same, but the specific values may be different or the same, and the specific values may be determined by the first communication device. In short, the first PPDU may include data frames with different structures. For example, some user data frames may use existing data frames, while other data frames may carry newly designed indication information according to the embodiments of the present application.
[0248] In some scenarios, if the first communication device needs to perform perception measurements and the first communication device caches data for multiple users, the data frames included in the first PPDU have the same structure and carry the newly designed indication information of the embodiment of the present application. It can be understood that in order to better implement multi-user (MU) downlink communication, the structure of each data frame in the first PPDU remains consistent, which is more conducive to MU demodulation.
[0249] In one possible implementation, the first communication device may use a multi-user transmission method such as MU-multiple input multiple output (MU-MIMO) or orthogonal frequency division multiple access (OFDMA) specified in the Wi-Fi communication protocol to send data frames for multiple users. When the first communication device uses OFDMA to send data for multiple users, illustratively, a possible first PPDU structure is shown in FIG17 , where the horizontal axis represents time resources, represented by "t"; the vertical axis represents frequency resources, represented by "f". As shown in FIG17 , the MAC part of the first PPDU is composed of data frames to be sent to several users, such as: the MAC part of the first PPDU is composed of data frames for user 1, data frames for user 2, and data frames for user 3.
[0250] For ease of description, the following description uses the example of a first PPDU including a first data frame of a first user and a second data frame of a second user. The first data frame and the second data frame can be all data frames in the first PPDU, or they can be part of the data frames in the first PPDU, and this is not limited in the embodiments of the present application. The MAC header of the first data frame includes first indication information, and the MAC header of the second data frame includes second indication information. The frame format of the first indication information and the second indication information are the same, but the specific values can be the same or different, and the specific values are determined by the first communication device.
[0251] In one possible implementation, the first indication information may be used to determine: the transmit power of a second PPDU from a second communication device (i.e., a first user) and / or the number of fields used for sensing in the second PPDU, as well as the spatial streams allocated to the second PPDU and / or the RUs allocated to the second PPDU. Correspondingly, the second indication information may be used to determine: the transmit power of a third PPDU from a third communication device (i.e., a second user) and / or the number of fields used for sensing in the third PPDU, as well as the spatial streams allocated to the third PPDU and / or the RUs allocated to the third PPDU. In other words, the first indication information and the second indication information can be summarized as being used to determine: the transmit power of a PPDU from a frame receiver and / or the number of fields used for sensing in the PPDU, as well as the spatial streams allocated to the PPDU and / or the RUs allocated to the PPDU. For the first data frame, the frame receiver is the second communication device; for the second data frame, the frame receiver is the third communication device. It will be understood that different data frames in the first PPDU have different frame receivers.
[0252] For example, the frame structure of the first data frame and the second data frame is the same. Referring to Figure 18a, Figure 18a is a schematic diagram of the fourth possible frame format of the data frame provided in an embodiment of the present application. The data frame shown in Figure 18a can be a first data frame or a second data frame. As shown in Figure 18a, the HT Control field of the data frame includes but is not limited to: a multi-user sensing parameter information (MU sensing parameters Info) field (i.e., the first indication information or the second indication information). Exemplarily, the length of the MU sensing parameters Info field is 26 bits, and the embodiment of the present application does not limit the length of the MU sensing parameters Info field. The first two bits of the HT Control field shown in Figure 18a are "11", indicating that the data frame is a data frame in the 802.11ax protocol. The frame body of the data frame contains data.
[0253] It can be understood that the MU sensing parameters Info field can also have other names, such as MU sensing parameters field, which is not limited in the embodiment of the present application.
[0254] In one possible implementation, the MAC headers of both the first data frame and the second data frame include third indication information. The third indication information may be used to indicate whether the data frame containing the third indication information carries the MU sensing parameters Info field (i.e., the first indication information or the second indication information). The specific implementation of the third indication information can be found in the relevant description of the embodiment shown in FIG. 10 above, and will not be repeated here.
[0255] For example, the frame structure of the first data frame and the second data frame is the same. Referring to Figure 18b, Figure 18b is a schematic diagram of the fifth possible frame format of the data frame provided in an embodiment of the present application. The data frame shown in Figure 18b can be a first data frame or a second data frame. As shown in Figure 18b, the HT Control field of the data frame includes but is not limited to a multi-user SR2SI sensing information (MU SR2SI sensing Info) field, and the MU SR2SI sensing Info field includes a multi-user sensing parameter presence (MU sensing parameter presence) field (i.e., third indication information), and an MU sensing parameters Info field (i.e., first indication information or second indication information). Exemplarily, the length of the multi-user sensing parameter presence field is 1 bit. When the multi-user sensing parameter presence field is a first value, it indicates that the MU sensing parameters Info field exists in the data frame; when the multi-user sensing parameter presence field is a second value, it indicates that the MU sensing parameters Info field does not exist in the data frame. In an embodiment of the present application, the multi-user sensing parameter presence field is set to the first value, indicating that the MU sensing parameters Info field exists in the data frame. Exemplarily, the length of the MU Sensing Parameters Info field is 25 bits. This embodiment of the present application does not limit the length of the Multi-User Sensing Parameters Presence field or the MU Sensing Parameters Info field. The first two bits of the HT Control field shown in Figure 18b are "11," indicating that the data frame is an 802.11ax data frame. The frame body of the data frame contains data.
[0256] It can be understood that the MU sensing parameter presence field can also have other names, such as sensing parameter presence field, which is not limited in the embodiment of the present application.
[0257] For another example, the data frame where the third indication information is located does not carry the MU sensing parameters Info field, and may include: the data frame carries other fields, such as the perception measurement termination field (i.e., the fifth indication information), which is used to terminate the perception measurement session. In other words, the above-mentioned third indication information can be used to indicate that the data frame carries the MU sensing parameters Info field, or to indicate that the data frame carries the perception measurement termination field. For the specific implementation of the perception measurement termination field, please refer to the description of the embodiment shown in Figure 21 below, which will not be described in detail here.
[0258] Refer to Figure 18c, which is a schematic diagram of the sixth possible frame format of the data frame provided in an embodiment of the present application. The data frame shown in Figure 18c can be a first data frame or a second data frame. As shown in Figure 18c, the HT Control field of the data frame includes but is not limited to the MU SR2SI sensing Info field. The MU SR2SI sensing Info field includes a function indication field (i.e., third indication information), and an MU sensing parameters Info field (i.e., first indication information or second indication information) or a sensing measurement termination field (i.e., fifth indication information). Exemplarily, the length of the function indication field is 1 bit. When the function indication field is a first value, it indicates that the last 25 bits of the HT control field are the MU sensing parameters Info field, or that the data frame carries the MU sensing parameters Info field. When the function indication field is a second value, it indicates that the last 25 bits of the HT control field are the sensing measurement termination field, or that the data frame carries the sensing measurement termination field. In this embodiment of the present application, the function indication field is set to the first value, indicating that the data frame carries the MU sensing parameters Info field. Exemplarily, the length of the MU sensing parameters Info field and the sensing measurement termination field are both 25 bits. The embodiment of the present application does not limit the length of the function indication field, the MU sensing parameters Info field, and the sensing measurement termination field. The first two bits of the HT Control field shown in Figure 18c are "11", indicating that the data frame is a data frame in the 802.11ax protocol. The frame body of the data frame contains data. It can be understood that the Function indication field can also have other names, such as the function control field, which is not limited by the embodiment of the present application.
[0259] It is understood that the length and meaning of other fields not described in Figures 18a to 18c can be referred to existing standards, such as the description of the 802.11ax protocol, and will not be described in detail in the embodiments of this application. It is also understood that Figures 18a to 18c only illustrate the structure of the data frame in the 802.11ax protocol. The data frame in the embodiments of this application can be any type of data frame, and any data frame containing the MU sensing parameters Info field is within the scope of protection of this application.
[0260] In one possible implementation, the MU sensing parameters Info field (i.e., the first indication information or the second indication information) may include one or more of the following: the transmit power of the first PPDU, the expected receive power of the first communication device, the number of combinations of fields used for sensing in the PPDU from the frame receiver, the number of fields used for sensing in the combination of fields used for sensing, the spatial stream allocated to the PPDU, or the RU allocated to the PPDU. The transmit power of the first PPDU and the expected receive power can be used to determine the transmit power of the PPDU sent by the frame receiver. For specific determination methods, refer to the description of the embodiment shown in FIG. 10 above, which is not repeated here. The number of combinations of fields used for sensing and the number of fields used for sensing in each combination of fields used for sensing can determine the number of fields used for sensing in the PPDU sent by the frame receiver. For specific determination methods, refer to the description of the embodiment shown in FIG. 10 above, which is not repeated here. For an explanation of the fields used for sensing and their combinations, refer to the description of the embodiment shown in FIG. 10 above, which is not repeated here.
[0261] Referring to Figure 19, Figure 19 is a schematic diagram of the frame format of the multi-user sensing parameter information field provided in an embodiment of the present application. As shown in Figure 19, the MU sensing parameters Info field (i.e., the first indication information or the second indication information) includes, but is not limited to, one or more of the following: SI Tx Power field, UL Target Receiver Power field, SR2SI Rep field, SR2SI NSTS field, SS Allocation field, or RA-RU Information field. For an explanation of the SI Tx Power field, UL Target Receiver Power field, SR2SI Rep field, and SR2SI NSTS field, please refer to the description of Figure 12 above and will not be repeated here.
[0262] The SS Allocation field indicates the spatial stream allocated to the PPDU of the frame receiver, and the RA-RU Information field indicates the RU allocated to the PPDU of the frame receiver. Different frame receivers send PPDUs on corresponding spatial streams or RUs to avoid mutual interference.
[0263] It is understood that the names and lengths of the various fields in the MU sensing parameters Info field are not limited by the embodiments of the present application. For example, as shown in FIG19 , when the length of the MU sensing parameters Info field is 26 bits, there is one reserved bit in the MU sensing parameters Info field; when the length of the MU sensing parameters Info field is 25 bits, there may be no reserved bits in the MU sensing parameters Info field.
[0264] In some scenarios, the data frame of each user in the above-mentioned first PPDU includes the MU sensing parameters Info field. However, the first communication device may not perform perception measurements with each user. The first communication device determines which users to perform perception measurements with. For example, the first communication device needs to perform perception measurements with user 1. The first communication device can indicate in the data frame of user 1 that the PPDU sent by user 1 carries multiple fields for perception (such as HE-LTF or EHT-LTF), so that the first communication device can perform perception calculations based on the received PPDU.
[0265] It can be understood that when one or more data frames sent by the first communication device carry the MU sensing parameters Info field (i.e., the first indication information or the second indication information), the first communication device can instruct one or more frame recipients how to feedback the PPDU, thereby using the feedback PPDU for perception calculation.
[0266] In one possible implementation, after step S203, the PPDU transmission method shown in FIG. 16 further includes:
[0267] S204, the second communication device sends a second PPDU according to the first indication information in the above-mentioned first data frame, and the second PPDU includes at least one field for perception and feedback for confirming whether the above-mentioned first data frame is transmitted successfully, wherein the number of fields for perception in the second PPDU is determined based on the above-mentioned first indication information.
[0268] Correspondingly, the first communication device receives the second PPDU.
[0269] In one possible implementation, the second communication device can obtain the first indication information (such as the MU sensing parameters Info field) by parsing the first data frame sent to itself in the above-mentioned first PPDU. The second communication device then sends the second PPDU according to the first indication information (such as the MU sensing parameters Info field). Exemplarily, the second communication device sends the second PPDU on the allocated spatial stream or RU, and the PHY header of the second PPDU includes at least one field for perception, such as HE-LTF or EHT-LTF. If the first indication information (such as the MU sensing parameters Info field) includes the SI Tx Power field and the UL Target Receiver Power field, the second communication device also needs to use the transmit power determined by the SI Tx Power field and the UL Target Receiver Power field to send the second PPDU. If the first indication information (such as the MU sensing parameters Info field) includes the SR2SI Rep field and / or the SR2SI NSTS field, the number of fields used for perception in the second PPDU is equal to: the product of the number of HE-LTF repetition blocks and the number of HE-LTFs in each HE-LTF repetition block, or the product of the number of EHT-LTF repetition blocks and the number of EHT-LTFs in each EHT-LTF repetition block.
[0270] In one possible implementation, the PSDU of the second PPDU includes an ACK frame or a BA frame. The ACK frame can be used to confirm the successful transmission of the first data frame, and the BA frame can be used to confirm whether the first data frame is successfully transmitted. Exemplarily, the frame format of the second PPDU can be as shown in Figure 13a or Figure 13b above, and is not further described here.
[0271] In one possible implementation, since the first PPDU contains data frames for multiple users, other communication devices also receive the first PPDU and obtain their own data frames from it. For example, a third communication device receives the first PPDU and, by parsing the second data frame sent to itself in the first PPDU, can obtain second indication information (such as the MU sensing parameters Info field). The third communication device can send a third PPDU based on the second indication information (such as the MU sensing parameters Info field). The specific implementation method can refer to the implementation method of the second communication device sending the second PPDU based on the first indication information, which will not be repeated here.
[0272] S205: The first communication device performs perception measurement according to at least one field for perception in the received second PPDU.
[0273] In one possible implementation, if the first communication device wants to perceive the second communication device, after receiving the above-mentioned second PPDU, the first communication device can use at least one field for perception in its physical layer header (such as HE-LTF or EHT-LTF) to perform perception calculation. The specific process of the perception calculation can refer to the existing technology and is not described in detail in the embodiments of this application. In addition, the first communication device can also know that the data transmission between the first communication device and the second communication device is successful through the ACK frame carried in the second PPDU, that is, the above-mentioned first data frame is transmitted successfully. If the second PPDU carries a BA frame, the first communication device can know whether the data transmission between the first communication device and the second communication device is successful.
[0274] If the first communication device also wants to sense other communication devices, the first communication device can also receive the PPDU sent by the other communication device and use at least one field used for sensing (such as HE-LTF or EHT-LTF) in its physical layer header to perform sensing calculations. In addition, the first communication device can also learn whether the data transmission between the first communication device and the other communication device is successful through the ACK frame or BA frame carried in the PPDU sent by the other communication device.
[0275] Therefore, through the embodiments of the present application, multi-user downlink communication and perception measurement can be carried out simultaneously (or in parallel), reducing the degradation of communication QoS or perception quality caused by the conflict between perception measurement and communication.
[0276] To better understand the process of the PPDU transmission method in the embodiment of the present application, the following example is used to illustrate. It can be understood that in the following example, the AP has completed the establishment of the perception measurement session with all STAs, that is, the AP has negotiated with all STAs the operating parameters required for the perception process.
[0277] For example, refer to Figure 20, which is a schematic diagram of another possible perception measurement exchange provided by the implementation of the present application. Figure 20 describes how the AP and multiple STAs perform perception measurements while performing downlink communication. As shown in Figure 20, assuming that the AP needs to perform perception measurements and the AP has data of multiple STAs cached, the AP can perform a multi-user downlink communication TF sounding phase (MU DL Communication TF Sounding phase) with multiple STAs to simultaneously complete perception measurements and multi-user downlink data transmission. It can be understood that the MU DL Communication TF sounding phase is a phase designed by an embodiment of the present application for simultaneously realizing multi-user downlink communication and perception measurements. In the MU DL Communication TF Sounding phase, the AP (first communication device) first sends a TI_MU_DATA PPDU (i.e., the first PPDU). A possible frame structure of the TI_MU_DATA PPDU is shown in Figure 17 above, and its MAC part is composed of an MTI_DATA frame (i.e., a data frame) to be sent to several STAs. Although the AP only performs sensing measurements with STA1 and STA2, the frame structure of the MTI_DATA frame for STA1 to STA3 in the TI_MU_DATA PPDU can be the same. A possible frame structure of the MTI_DATA frame is shown in any of Figures 18a to 18c above. This frame is a DATA frame with the MU Sensing Parameters Info field. Because the MTI_DATA frames (i.e., data frames) of different STAs are different, the AP can use the TI_MU_DATA PPDU (i.e., the first PPDU) to indicate the sensing transmission parameters (such as transmit power, number of HE-LTF / EHT-LTF, spatial streams / RU, etc.) of different STAs. After receiving the TI_MU_DATA PPDU (i.e., the first PPDU), STA1, STA2, and STA3 respectively parse the corresponding MTI_DATA frame (i.e., data frame) to obtain the sensing transmission parameters and the data sent by the AP, and then respond with the corresponding TS_ACK PPDU. The type of PPDU the STA responds to is indicated by the corresponding MTI_DATA frame (i.e., data frame). A possible frame structure of the TS_ACK PPDU is shown in FIG. 13a or FIG. 13b above. The number of HE-LTF / EHT-LTF (i.e., the field used for sensing) in the TS_ACK PPDU is indicated by the MU Sensing parameters Info field in the corresponding MTI_DATA frame (i.e., the data frame). The AP (first communication device) performs perception calculations using the TS_ACK PPDUs replied by STA1 and STA2. It also receives confirmation of data reception from STA1 and STA2 through the ACK or BA frames carried in the TS_ACK PPDUs. The AP receives confirmation of data reception from STA3 through the ACK or BA frames carried in the TS_ACK PPDUs replied by STA3. Therefore, during the MU DL Communication TF Sounding phase, the AP and multiple STAs simultaneously complete perception measurements and downlink communication.
[0278] Figure 20 also shows the NDPA detection phase and reporting phase. In fact, there are multiple phase combinations in the perception measurement exchange process that can simultaneously implement multi-user downlink communication and perception measurement. It is only necessary to ensure that the perception measurement exchange process contains the MU DL Communication TF Sounding phase of the embodiment of the present application, because only this phase can simultaneously implement multi-user downlink communication and perception measurement.
[0279] The embodiment of the present application sends a data frame with the MU Sensing parameters Info field and replies to a TS_ACK PPDU (i.e., the second PPDU) that can be used for perception, thereby enabling simultaneous (or parallel) communication and perception measurements, thereby reducing the degradation of communication QoS or perception quality caused by conflicts between perception measurements and communication.
[0280] See Figure 21, which is a schematic diagram of the third process flow of the PPDU transmission method provided in an embodiment of the present application. This method mainly introduces the signaling interaction process and possible frame formats for terminating a perception measurement session through data frames. In this embodiment of the present application, the first communication device may be an AP, and the second communication device may be a non-AP STA (or STA); alternatively, the first communication device may be a non-AP STA (or STA), and the second communication device may be an AP; this embodiment of the present application does not limit this.
[0281] As shown in FIG21 , the PPDU transmission method includes but is not limited to the following steps:
[0282] S301: A first communication device sends a first PPDU, where the first PPDU includes a data frame. The data frame includes fifth indication information, where the fifth indication information is used to terminate a perception measurement session.
[0283] Correspondingly, the second communication device receives the first PPDU, parses the first PPDU, obtains fifth indication information, and thereby learns which perception measurement sessions between the first communication device and the second communication device are terminated.
[0284] S302: The second communication device transmits a second PPDU, where the second PPDU includes feedback confirming whether the data frame is successfully transmitted. The feedback confirming whether the data frame is successfully transmitted includes an ACK frame or a BA frame. It will be appreciated that if the data frame is successfully transmitted, the perception measurement session between the first communication device and the second communication device has been successfully terminated.
[0285] Correspondingly, the first communication device receives the second PPDU.
[0286] In one possible implementation, the first PPDU includes data frames for one or more users. It is understood that if communication is single-user, the first PPDU includes data frames for a single user; if communication is multi-user, the first PPDU may include data frames for multiple users. The data frames may be of any type, such as data frames in the 802.11ax protocol, data frames in the 802.11be protocol, or data frames in a future generation of 802.11 communication protocols, and this embodiment of the present application does not impose any limitation.
[0287] In one possible implementation, the first communications apparatus may carry fifth indication information in a MAC header of a data frame to terminate the perception measurement session between the first communications apparatus and the recipient of the data frame. If the first communications apparatus intends to terminate the perception measurement session with a specific device, the first communications apparatus may carry the fifth indication information in the data frame corresponding to the specific device. If the first communications apparatus intends to terminate the perception measurement session with multiple devices, the first communications apparatus may carry the fifth indication information in the data frames corresponding to the multiple devices, respectively, to terminate the perception measurement sessions between the first communications apparatus and the multiple devices.
[0288] In some scenarios, if the first communications apparatus does not want to terminate the perception measurement session with a certain device, the fifth indication information will not be carried in the data frame sent to the device.
[0289] For ease of description, the following description is given by taking an example where the first communication device wants to terminate a perception measurement session with the second communication device.
[0290] In one possible implementation, the first PPDU may include one or more data frames, including a data frame sent to the second communication device. The MAC header of the data frame may include fifth indication information. The fifth indication information may be used to terminate the sensing measurement session between the first communication device and the second communication device, or in other words, the fifth indication information may be used to terminate the sensing measurement session between the frame sender and the frame receiver. Exemplarily, the fifth indication information may be a sensing measurement termination field.
[0291] Referring to Figure 22a, Figure 22a is a schematic diagram of the seventh possible frame format of the data frame provided in an embodiment of the present application. As shown in Figure 22a, the HT Control field of the data frame includes, but is not limited to, a perception measurement termination field (i.e., the fifth indication information). Exemplarily, the length of the perception measurement termination field is 26 bits. The embodiment of the present application does not limit the length of the perception measurement termination field. The first two bits of the HT Control field shown in Figure 22a are "11", indicating that the data frame is a data frame in the 802.11ax protocol. The frame body of the data frame contains data.
[0292] In one possible implementation, the data frame sent to the second communication device in the above-mentioned first PPDU includes sixth indication information, and the sixth indication information can be used to indicate whether the data frame carries the fifth indication information. Exemplarily, when the sixth indication information is the first value, it indicates that the data frame carries the fifth indication information; when the sixth indication information is the second value, it indicates that the data frame does not carry the fifth indication information. In an embodiment of the present application, if the first communication device wants to terminate the perception measurement session with a certain device, the sixth indication information in the data frame corresponding to the device is set to the first value, which is used to indicate that the data frame carries the fifth indication information. Among them, the first value is 1 and the second value is 0; or the first value is 0 and the first value is 1; this embodiment of the present application is not limited.
[0293] Refer to Figure 22b, which is a schematic diagram of the eighth possible frame format of a data frame provided in an embodiment of the present application. As shown in Figure 22b, the HT Control field of the data frame includes, but is not limited to, a Termination Presence field and a Perception Measurement Termination field. Exemplarily, the Termination Presence field is 1 bit long. When the Termination Presence field is a first value, it indicates that the Perception Measurement Termination field is present in the data frame, meaning that the data frame carries the fifth indication information. When the Termination Presence field is a second value, it indicates that the Perception Measurement Termination field is not present in the data frame, meaning that the data frame does not carry the fifth indication information. If a first communications device wishes to terminate a perception measurement session with a certain device, it may set the Termination Presence field in a data frame sent to the device to the first value, indicating that the Perception Measurement Termination field is present in the data frame. Exemplarily, the Perception Measurement Termination field is 25 bits long. This embodiment of the present application does not limit the length of the Termination Presence field and the Perception Measurement Termination field. As shown in Figure 22b, the first two bits of the HT Control field are "11," indicating that the data frame is an 802.11ax data frame. The frame body of the data frame contains data.
[0294] In one possible implementation, the data frame not carrying the fifth indication information may include: the data frame carries other indication information, such as first indication information, for determining one or more of the following: the transmission power of the second PPDU from the second communication device, or the number of fields used for perception in the second PPDU. In other words, the sixth indication information can be used to indicate whether the data frame carries the first indication information or the fifth indication information. Then, the sixth indication information in the embodiment of the present application may be the same as the third indication information in the embodiment shown in Figure 10 or Figure 16. Exemplarily, when the sixth indication information is the first value, it indicates that the data frame carries the first indication information; when the third indication information is the second value, it indicates that the data frame carries the fifth indication information. In some scenarios, the frame format of the data frame in the embodiment of the present application can be as shown in Figure 11c or Figure 18c above. The difference between it and the data frame in the embodiment shown in Figure 10 or Figure 16 above is that: if the first communication device wants to terminate the perception measurement session with a certain device, the function indication field (i.e., the sixth indication information or the third indication information) in the data frame sent to this device can be set to the second value, indicating that the last 25 bits of the HT control field of the data frame are the perception measurement termination field, or indicating that the data frame carries the perception measurement termination field, that is, the data frame carries the fifth indication information.
[0295] It is understood that the lengths and meanings of other fields not described in Figures 22a and 22b can be found in existing standards, such as the description of the 802.11ax protocol, and are not described in detail in this embodiment of the present application. It is also understood that Figures 22a and 22b only illustrate the structure of a data frame in the 802.11ax protocol. The data frame in this embodiment of the present application can be any type of data frame, and any data frame containing the perception measurement termination field is within the scope of protection of this application.
[0296] In one possible implementation, the fifth indication information (such as the perception measurement termination field) may include one or more of the following: a measurement session identifier (Measurement Session ID) field, a terminate all triggered measurement sessions (Terminate All TB Measurement Sessions) field, a terminate all non-triggered measurement sessions (Terminate All non-TB Measurement Sessions) field, and a triggered or non-triggered measurement session type (TB / non-TB Measurement Session Type) field.
[0297] For example, refer to Figure 23, which is a schematic diagram of the frame format of the sensing measurement termination field provided in an embodiment of the present application. As shown in Figure 23, the sensing measurement termination field may include but is not limited to: a Measurement Session ID field, a Terminate All TB Measurement Sessions field, a Terminate All non-TB Measurement Sessions field, and a TB / non-TB Measurement Session Type field. Among them, the Measurement Session ID field can represent the identifier (ID) to which the current sensing measurement belongs. When the Terminate All TB Measurement Sessions field is set to 1, it indicates that the first communication device requests to close all sensing measurement sessions in TB mode established with the frame receiver. At this time, the Measurement Session ID field and the TB / non-TB Measurement Session Type field are both reserved fields. When the Terminate All TB Measurement Sessions field is set to 0, it indicates that the first communication device does not request to close all sensing measurement sessions in TB mode established with the frame receiver. Similarly, when the Terminate All non-TB Measurement Sessions field is set to 1, it indicates that the first communications device requests to terminate all non-TB mode perception measurement sessions established with the frame receiver. In this case, the Measurement Session ID field and the TB / non-TB Measurement Session Type field are both reserved fields. When the Terminate All non-TB Measurement Sessions field is set to 0, it indicates that the first communications device does not request to terminate all non-TB mode perception measurement sessions established with the frame receiver. When both the Terminate All TB Measurement Sessions field and the Terminate All non-TB Measurement Sessions field are set to 0, the TB / non-TB Measurement Session Type field indicates the perception type associated with the Measurement Session ID.When the TB / non-TB Measurement Session Type field is set to 0, it indicates that the Measurement Session ID is associated with the TB sensing type. Otherwise (that is, when the TB / non-TB Measurement Session Type field is set to 1), it indicates that the Measurement Session ID is associated with the non-TB sensing type.
[0298] As shown in Figure 23, the length of the Measurement Session ID field can be 3 bits. This is because the existing 802.11bf protocol stipulates that only 3 bits are used to identify the Measurement Session ID. Although 8 bits are used to identify the Measurement Session ID in the existing sensing measurement termination frame, only 3 bits are actually used. Of course, the length of the Measurement Session ID field can also be 8 bits. The embodiment of the present application does not limit the length of each field in Figure 23. For example, as shown in Figure 23, when the length of the sensing measurement termination field is 26 bits, the reserved bits in the sensing measurement termination field are 20 bits; when the length of the sensing measurement termination field is 25 bits, the reserved bits in the sensing measurement termination field are 19 bits.
[0299] It can be understood that when the data frame sent by the first communication device carries the sensing measurement termination field, the first communication device can close the sensing measurement session with the receiver of the data frame.
[0300] It can be understood that in the existing 802.11bf protocol, closing the sensing measurement session between the AP and the STA can be achieved by the AP or the STA sending a sensing measurement termination frame. Referring to Figure 24, Figure 24 is a schematic diagram of the frame format of the action field of the sensing measurement termination frame provided in an embodiment of the present application. As shown in Figure 24, the action field of the sensing measurement termination frame includes: a category field, a public action / protected dual public action field, a measurement session identification indication field, and a measurement session termination control field. The measurement session termination control field includes: a Terminate All TB Measurement Sessions field, a Terminate All non-TB Measurement Sessions field, and a TB / non-TB Measurement Session Type field. The values and meanings of each field in Figure 24 can be referred to the existing technology, such as the existing 802.11bf protocol, and are not described in detail in the embodiment of the present application.
[0301] In the prior art, if an AP or STA wants to terminate a sensing measurement session, they can send a Sensing Measurement Termination frame, which requires them to re-compete for the channel. However, by including the necessary fields for closing / terminating a sensing measurement session in a data frame, the present embodiment can complete the closure of the sensing measurement session during communication, eliminating the need to re-compete for the channel and then send a Sensing Measurement Termination frame. This saves the transmission time and channel resources of the Sensing Measurement Termination frame.
[0302] See Figure 25, which is a fourth flow chart of the PPDU transmission method provided in an embodiment of the present application. The method mainly introduces the signaling interaction process and possible frame formats for simultaneous communication and perception measurement, and / or the signaling interaction process and possible frame formats for simultaneous communication and termination of a perception measurement session. In an embodiment of the present application, for single-user downlink communication and multi-user downlink communication, the first communication device is an AP and the second communication device is a non-AP STA (or STA); for single-user uplink communication, the first communication device is a non-AP STA (or STA) and the second communication device is an AP.
[0303] As shown in FIG25 , the PPDU transmission method includes but is not limited to the following steps:
[0304] S401. A first communication device generates a first PPDU, where the first PPDU includes a data frame, where the data frame includes third indication information, and where the third indication information is used to indicate that the data frame carries the first indication information, or to indicate that the data frame carries the fifth indication information; wherein the first indication information is used to determine one or more of the following: the transmit power of a second PPDU from a second communication device, or the number of fields used for perception in the second PPDU; and the fifth indication information is used to terminate the perception measurement session.
[0305] S402: The first communication device sends the first PPDU.
[0306] Correspondingly, the second communication device receives the first PPDU.
[0307] S403: The second communication device parses the first PPDU. By parsing the first PPDU, the second communication device can determine whether the data frame terminates the perception measurement session or indicates the transmission parameters (transmit power and / or the number of fields used for perception) of the perception PPDU (i.e., the second PPDU), thereby performing corresponding operations.
[0308] In one possible implementation, the first PPDU includes data frames for one or more users.
[0309] In one possible implementation, the data frame may include third indication information. This third indication information may be used to indicate that the data frame carries the first indication information or the fifth indication information. When the third indication information is a first value, it indicates that the data frame carries the first indication information; when the third indication information is a second value, it indicates that the data frame carries the fifth indication information. Exemplarily, the frame format of the data frame may be as shown in FIG. 11c or FIG. 18c , which is not described in detail here. The first indication information may be used to determine one or more of the following: the transmit power of a second PPDU from the second communication device, or the number of fields in the second PPDU used for sensing. Optionally, the first indication information may also be used to determine the spatial streams and / or RUs allocated to the second PPDU. Exemplarily, the specific implementation of the first indication information can be found in the description of the embodiment shown in FIG. 10 or FIG. 16 , which is not described in detail here. The fifth indication information may be used to terminate the sensing measurement session. Exemplarily, the specific implementation of the fifth indication information can be found in the description of the embodiment shown in FIG. 21 , which is not described in detail here.
[0310] In one possible implementation, if the first communications device wants to perform perception measurement with a certain user, the third indication information and the first indication information may be carried in the data frame corresponding to the user, and the third indication information is set to the first value. If the first communications device wants to terminate the perception measurement session with a certain user, the third indication information and the fifth indication information may be carried in the data frame corresponding to the user, and the third indication information is set to the second value. If the first communications device does not want to perform perception measurement with a certain user or terminate the perception measurement session with the user, the third indication information, the first indication information, and the fifth indication information may not be carried in the data frame corresponding to the user. In one possible implementation, if the first communications device wants to perform perception measurement with the first user and terminate the perception measurement session with the second user, then in a multi-user downlink communication scenario, the first communications device may carry the third indication information and the first indication information in the data frame corresponding to the first user, and the third indication information is set to the first value; and carry the third indication information and the fifth indication information in the data frame corresponding to the second user, and the third indication information is set to the second value.
[0311] In some scenarios, if the first communication device needs to perform perception measurement and the first communication device caches downlink data of multiple users, then the above-mentioned first PPDU includes data frames of multiple users, and the frame format of the data frame of each user can be the same, for example: the data frame of each user carries third indication information and first indication information, and the third indication information is set to the first value.
[0312] In one possible implementation, after receiving the first PPDU, the second communication device may parse the first PPDU to obtain a data frame in the first PPDU that is sent to the second communication device. The second communication device may further parse the data frame to obtain third indication information. Based on the third indication information, the second communication device may determine whether the data frame is used to terminate the sensing measurement session or to indicate transmission parameters (transmit power and / or the number of fields used for sensing) of the second PPDU, and thereby perform corresponding operations.
[0313] If the third indication information indicates that the data frame carries the first indication information, the second communication device may send a second PPDU based on the first indication information. The second PPDU includes at least one field for sensing and feedback confirming whether the data frame has been successfully transmitted. For example, the specific implementation of the second communication device sending the second PPDU based on the first indication information can be found in the implementation of step S104 in the embodiment shown in FIG. 10 or the implementation of step S204 in the embodiment shown in FIG. 16 , which are not described in detail here. The number of fields for sensing in the second PPDU is determined based on the first indication information. The specific determination method can be found in the description of step S104 in the embodiment shown in FIG. 10 or the description of step S204 in the embodiment shown in FIG. 16 , which are not described in detail here. After receiving the second PPDU, the first communication device performs sensing measurements based on the at least one field for sensing in the second PPDU. For details, see the description of step S105 in the embodiment shown in FIG. 10 or the description of step S205 in the embodiment shown in FIG. 16 , which are not described in detail here.
[0314] If the third indication information indicates that the data frame carries the fifth indication information, the second communications device may transmit a second PPDU, where the second PPDU includes an ACK frame or a BA frame. The ACK frame is used to confirm successful transmission of the data frame, and the BA frame is used to confirm successful transmission of the data frame. It is understood that if the data frame is successfully transmitted, it can indicate that the perception measurement session between the first communications device and the second communications device has been successfully terminated.
[0315] In one possible implementation, during data transmission, data frames in different time periods may carry different indication information of the embodiments of the present application. For example, in a certain time period, the first communication device has a perception requirement, then the first communication device may carry first indication information in the data frame; in another time period, the first communication device wants to terminate the perception measurement session with the second communication device, then the first communication device may carry fifth indication information in the data frame. Exemplarily, after the perception measurement requirement of the first communication device is met, it may terminate the perception measurement session with the second communication device through a data frame in subsequent frame interactions. This will be explained below with a few examples.
[0316] Exemplarily, for single-user downlink communication, when the perception requirements of the AP are met, it can close the perception measurement session with the STA through a data frame in the subsequent frame interaction. See Figure 26a, which is a flow chart of data transmission provided by an embodiment of the present application. As shown in Figure 26a, the AP needs to perform perception measurement and the AP has cached data that needs to be sent to the STA. At this time, the AP can execute the downlink communication TF sounding phase (DL Communication TF Sounding phase) to complete the perception measurement and downlink data transmission at the same time. In the DL Communication TF Sounding phase, the AP (first communication device) first sends a TI_DATA frame. A possible frame structure of the TI_DATA frame is shown in Figure 11c above. The value of the Function indication field (i.e., the third indication information) in the frame is the first value, indicating that the frame carries the SU Sensing parameters Info field (i.e., the first indication information). The STA (second communication device) responds with a TS_ACK PPDU after a SIFS. A possible frame structure of the TS_ACK PPDU is shown in Figure 13a or Figure 13b above. The number of HE-LTF / EHT-LTF (i.e., fields used for sensing) in the TS_ACK PPDU is indicated by the SU Sensing Parameters Info field in the TI_DATA frame. After receiving the TS_ACK PPDU, the AP (first communication device) can use the HE-LTF / EHT-LTF in its PHY header to perform sensing calculations. At the same time, the ACK frame or BA frame carried in the TS_ACK PPDU can determine whether the data transmission between it and the STA is successful. After the AP's sensing measurement requirements are met, the AP can send another TI_DATA frame to terminate the sensing measurement session with the STA. A possible frame structure of the TI_DATA frame is shown in Figure 11c above. The Function indication field (i.e., the third indication information) in this frame has the second value, indicating that the frame carries the sensing measurement termination field (i.e., the fifth indication information). The STA responds with an ACK PPDU after one SIFS to confirm that the TI_DATA frame has been successfully transmitted.
[0317] Exemplarily, for single-user uplink communication, when the STA's perception requirements are met, it can close the perception measurement session with the AP through a data frame in subsequent frame interactions. See Figure 26b, which is another flowchart of data transmission provided by an embodiment of the present application. As shown in Figure 26b, STA, as a sensing initiator, needs to perceive with the AP and has cached data to be sent to the AP. The STA can simultaneously complete the perception measurement and uplink data transmission with the AP by executing the uplink communication non-TB sounding phase (UL Communication non-TB Sounding phase). In the UL Communication non-TB Sounding phase, the STA (first communication device) first sends a TI_DATA frame. A possible frame structure of the TI_DATA frame is shown in Figure 11c above. The value of the Function indication field (i.e., the third indication information) in the frame is the first value, indicating that the frame carries the SU Sensing parameters Info field (i.e., the first indication information). The AP (second communication device) responds with a TS_ACK PPDU after a SIFS. A possible frame structure of the TS_ACK PPDU is shown in Figures 13a or 13b above. The number of HE-LTF / EHT-LTF fields (i.e., fields used for sensing) in the TS_ACK PPDU is indicated by the SU Sensing Parameters Info field in the TI_DATA frame. After receiving the TS_ACK PPDU, the STA (first communication device) can use the HE-LTF / EHT-LTF fields in its PHY header for sensing calculations. The ACK or BA frame carried in the TS_ACK PPDU can also be used to determine whether data transmission between it and the AP is successful. After the STA's sensing measurement requirements are met, the AP can send another TI_DATA frame to terminate the sensing measurement session with the AP. A possible frame structure of the TI_DATA frame is shown in Figure 11c above. The Function Indication field (i.e., the third indication information) in this frame has the second value, indicating that the frame carries the Sensing Measurement Termination field (i.e., the fifth indication information). The AP responds with an ACK PPDU after a SIFS to confirm the successful transmission of the TI_DATA frame. After this, if the STA still has data buffered by the AP, it can send a DATA frame. The frame structure of the DATA frame can follow the existing data frame structure, which is not detailed here. After receiving the DATA frame, the AP responds with an ACK frame to confirm the successful transmission of the DATA frame.
[0318] Exemplarily, for multi-user downlink communication, when the perception requirements of the AP are met, it can close the perception measurement session with the corresponding STA through the data frame in the subsequent frame interaction. See Figure 26c, which is another flow chart of data transmission provided by an embodiment of the present application. As shown in Figure 26c, the AP needs to perform perception measurement, and the AP caches data of multiple STAs. Then, the AP can perform a multi-user downlink communication TF sounding phase (MU DL Communication TF Sounding phase) with multiple STAs to simultaneously complete the perception measurement and multi-user downlink data transmission. In the MU DL Communication TF Sounding phase, the AP (first communication device) first sends a TI_MU_DATA PPDU. A possible frame structure of the TI_MU_DATA PPDU is shown in Figure 17 above, and its MAC part consists of an MTI_DATA frame (i.e., a data frame) to be sent to several STAs. Although the AP only performs perception measurement with STA1 and STA2, the frame structure of the MTI_DATA frame from STA1 to STA3 in the TI_MU_DATA PPDU can be the same. A possible frame structure of the MTI_DATA frame is shown in Figure 18c above. The value of the Function indication field (i.e., the third indication information) in the frame is the first value, indicating that the frame carries the MU Sensing parameters Info field (i.e., the first indication information). Since the MTI_DATA frames (i.e., data frames) of different STAs are different, the AP can use the TI_MU_DATA PPDU to separately indicate the sensing transmission parameters (such as transmit power, number of HE-LTF / EHT-LTF, spatial stream / RU, etc.) of different STAs. After receiving the TI_MU_DATA PPDU, STA1, STA2, and STA3 respectively parse the corresponding MTI_DATA frame (i.e., data frame) to obtain the sensing transmission parameters and the data sent by the AP, and then reply to the corresponding TS_ACK PPDU. What type of PPDU the STA replies to is indicated by the corresponding MTI_DATA frame (i.e., data frame). A possible frame structure of a TS_ACK PPDU is shown in Figures 13a or 13b. The number of HE-LTF / EHT-LTF fields (i.e., sensing fields) in the TS_ACK PPDU is indicated by the MU Sensing Parameters Info field in the corresponding MTI_DATA frame (i.e., data frame). The AP (first communication device) performs sensing calculations using the TS_ACK PPDUs replied by STA1 and STA2 and obtains data reception confirmation from STA1 and STA2 through the ACK or BA frames carried in the TS_ACK PPDUs.The AP learns about STA3's data reception confirmation through the ACK frame or BA frame carried in the TS_ACK PPDU replied by STA3. After the AP's sensing measurement requirements are met, the AP can send another TI_MU_DATA PPDU to terminate the sensing measurement session. A possible frame structure of the TI_MU_DATA PPDU is shown in Figure 17 above. Its MAC part consists of MTI_DATA frames (i.e., data frames) to be sent to several STAs. Assuming that the AP wants to terminate the sensing measurement session with STA2, a possible frame structure of the MTI_DATA frame corresponding to STA2 in the TI_MU_DATA PPDU is shown in Figure 18c above. The value of the Function indication field (i.e., the third indication information) in this frame is the second value, indicating that the frame carries the sensing measurement termination field (i.e., the fifth indication information). The frame structure of the MTI_DATA frames corresponding to STA1 and STA2 in the TI_MU_DATA PPDU can follow the frame structure of the existing data frame and does not carry the Function indication field and the sensing measurement termination field. After receiving the TI_MU_DATA PPDU, STA1, STA2, and STA3 each parse the corresponding MTI_DATA frame (data frame) to obtain the data sent by the AP. STA2 also learns that the AP is terminating its sensing measurement session. After a SIFS, STA1, STA2, and STA3 each respond with an ACK PPDU, allowing the AP to confirm data reception for each STA.
[0319] In the embodiment of the present application, the third indication information is carried in the data frame, so that the data frame has multiple functions, and the function of the data frame can be set as needed, so that communication and perception measurement can be carried out simultaneously (or in parallel), reducing the degradation of communication QoS or perception quality caused by the conflict between perception measurement and communication; it is also possible to complete the closure of the perception measurement session while communicating, saving time and channel resources.
[0320] Refer to Figure 27, which is a fifth flow chart of the PPDU transmission method provided in an embodiment of the present application. This method mainly introduces how to reduce the frame interaction between devices that do not have perception capabilities or devices that do not participate in perception and the perception initiator during the perception process, and how to reduce the impact on devices that do not have perception capabilities or devices that do not participate in perception during the perception process. It can be understood that the perception process mentioned in the embodiment of the present application may include the perception technology in the current 802.11bf protocol, and may also include the technology for simultaneous communication and perception designed in the aforementioned embodiment of the present application, and may also include the technology for simultaneous communication and perception measurement session termination designed in the aforementioned embodiment of the present application.
[0321] In an embodiment of the present application, the first communication device may be an AP, and the second communication device may be a non-AP STA (or STA); or, the first communication device may be a non-AP STA (or STA), and the second communication device may be an AP; this embodiment of the present application does not limit this.
[0322] As shown in FIG27 , the PPDU transmission method includes but is not limited to the following steps:
[0323] S501, a first communication device generates a PPDU, wherein the physical layer header of the PPDU includes fourth indication information, and the fourth indication information is used to indicate that the type of the PPDU is any one of the following: non-perceptual PPDU, perceptual PPDU, or communication-perceptual PPDU.
[0324] S502: The first communication device sends the PPDU.
[0325] Correspondingly, the second communication device receives the PPDU.
[0326] S503: The second communication device parses the PPDU.
[0327] In one possible implementation, the PPDU of the embodiment of the present application can be any type of PPDU, such as the PPDU specified in the 802.11ax protocol, the PPDU specified in the 802.11be protocol, or the PPDU specified in a future generation of 802.11 protocol. The embodiment of the present application is not limited.
[0328] In one possible implementation, the physical layer header of the PPDU includes fourth indication information, which can be used to indicate the type of the PPDU. In embodiments of the present application, the PPDU type can include one or more of the following: a non-sensing PPDU, a sensing PPDU, or a communication and sensing PPDU. A non-sensing PPDU can be understood as a PPDU that is unrelated to sensing technology, or does not carry sensing-related information (such as the first indication information, fifth indication information, existing sensing-related parameters, etc. designed in the aforementioned embodiments of the present application), or is a PPDU that is only related to communication. A sensing PPDU can be understood as a PPDU that is related to sensing technology, or carries sensing-related information, or participates in sensing-related processing, or is only related to sensing. A communication and sensing PPDU can be understood as a PPDU that is related to both communication and sensing, or carries both communication data and sensing-related information, or participates in both traditional communication processing and sensing processing.
[0329] For example, refer to Figure 28, which is a schematic diagram of yet another possible perception measurement exchange provided by an embodiment of the present application. Figure 28 mainly describes a perception measurement exchange process between AP and STA1. As shown in Figure 28, the PPDU types of Sensign Polling Triggerframe, Sensing NDPA frame, SI2SR NDP, Sensing Report Trigger frame, and Sensing measurement report frame are all perception PPDUs. The PPDU type of the CTS-to-Self frame is a non-perception PPDU. The PPDU types of the TI_DATA frame and the TS_ACK PPDU are both communication perception PPDUs. Among them, the specific implementation of the polling phase, NDPA detection phase, and reporting phase of Figure 28 can refer to the existing technology, and the specific implementation of the downlink communication TF detection phase can refer to the description of Figure 14 above, which will not be repeated here.
[0330] It should be understood that Figure 28 only illustrates the types of sensing PPDUs, non-sensing PPDUs, and communication-sensing PPDUs in the sensing measurement exchange process in a single-user communication scenario; it does not mean that the embodiments of the present application are only applicable to single-user scenarios. In actual applications, the embodiments of the present application are applicable to both single-user and multi-user scenarios, and are not described in detail here.
[0331] In one possible implementation, the embodiment of the present application may search for two redefinable bits in the PHY header of the PPDU, and use these two bits to indicate the type of the PPDU, that is, the two bits are redefined as the fourth indication information. Exemplarily, these two bits may be referred to as the low-order bit and the high-order bit, respectively. For example, when the high-order bit is set to 1, the low-order bit is set to 0, indicating that the type of the PPDU is a perception PPDU; when the low-order bit is set to 1, it indicates that the type of the PPDU is a non-perception PPDU. When the low-order bit is set to 0, the high-order bit is also set to 0, indicating that the type of the PPDU is a communication-perception PPDU. When the low-order bit is set to 0 and the high-order bit is set to 1, it is reserved. When the low-order bit is set to 1, the high-order bit can only be set to 1. Of course, the embodiment of the present application may also have other indication methods, which are not limited to the above examples and are not listed here one by one.
[0332] For example, refer to Figure 29, which is a schematic diagram of a frame format of an HE PPDU provided in an embodiment of the present application. As shown in Figure 29, the high efficiency signaling A (HE-SIG-A) field in the HE PPDU has two subfields: HE-SIG-A1 and HE-SIG-A2. HE-SIG-A1 and HE-SIG-A2 each have a reserved field. The Reserved field in HE-SIG-A1 is a low bit and can be modified to a low indication field. The Reserved field in HE-SIG-A2 is a high bit and is modified to a high indication field. For example, when the Low Indication field is set to 1, the High Indication field must be 1, indicating that the type of the PPDU is a non-perceptual PPDU. When the Low Indication field is 0 and the High Indication field is 1, it indicates that the type of the PPDU is a perceptual PPDU, or that the frame carried in the PPDU is a frame unique to the 802.11bf protocol. When the Low Indication field is set to 0 and the High Indication field is set to 0, it indicates that the type of the PPDU is a communication-aware PPDU.
[0333] It can be understood that the field names of the low-order bit and the high-order bit in Figure 29 are only examples. There may be other names, such as the low-order type indication field and the high-order type indication field, etc., which are not limited in the embodiments of the present application.
[0334] In one possible implementation, the second communication device can determine whether to continue parsing subsequent fields by parsing the Low Indication field and the High Indication field (i.e., the fourth indication information) in the PPDU. For example, if the second communication device is a non-perceiving device or the second communication device has perception capabilities but does not participate in perception, in a single-user scenario, when it parses the PPDU type indicated by the fourth indication information as a perception PPDU or a communication-perceiving PPDU, it can stop parsing subsequent fields (such as the MAC portion). In a multi-user scenario, when it parses the PPDU type indicated by the fourth indication information as a perception PPDU or a communication-perceiving PPDU, it is also necessary to parse the MAC portion of the PPDU and determine whether to parse the subsequent data portion based on the MAC address. If the second communication device is a perceiving device and participates in perception, but the second communication device only has conventional perception capabilities and does not have the ability to perform communication and perception simultaneously (or in parallel) as designed in this application, then when the second communication device parses the PPDU type indicated by the fourth indication information as a communication-perceiving PPDU (e.g., the high-order bit is 0), it can stop parsing subsequent fields (such as the MAC portion). When the second communication device has the capability of simultaneous communication and perception and conventional perception capability and participates in perception, the second communication device will parse the MAC portion of the PPDU and decide whether to parse the subsequent data portion based on the MAC address.
[0335] In one possible implementation, the embodiment of the present application can be implemented alone or in combination with any of the aforementioned embodiments (such as the embodiment shown in FIG. 10 , the embodiment shown in FIG. 16 , the embodiment shown in FIG. 21 , or the embodiment shown in FIG. 25 ), and this application does not limit this. When the embodiment of the present application is implemented in combination with any of the aforementioned embodiments, the fourth indication information can be located in the physical layer header of the first PPDU and / or the second PPDU of any of the aforementioned embodiments.
[0336] In existing technologies, APs and STAs exchange numerous frames during sensing. Within the AP's basic service set (BSS), there may be other STAs not participating in sensing. If these STAs are not in a sleep state, they will also receive sensing-related frames from other devices. When these STAs parse the receiving MAC address of a frame, they know the frame is not intended for them and stop further frame parsing. However, the MAC address is contained in the MAC portion of the frame. Therefore, STAs must first parse the PHY header before continuing with the MAC portion, thus consuming some STA energy on useless frame parsing.
[0337] Therefore, the present embodiment searches for two redefinable bits in the PPDU's PHY header and uses these two bits (i.e., fourth indication information) to indicate the PPDU type. This allows a device receiving the PPDU to determine whether to continue parsing subsequent fields by parsing these two bits. This reduces energy consumption incurred by devices not participating in the perception process due to parsing the perception-related PPDU, achieving device energy conservation and minimizing the impact of the perception activity on non-participating devices.

For the specific functions or execution steps of the transceiver unit and the processing unit, please refer to the above-mentioned method embodiment 5 and will not be described in detail here. For example, the transceiver unit 10 can be used to receive a PPDU; the processing unit 20 can be used to execute step S503 shown in Figure 27.
[0375] The above describes the communication device according to the embodiment of the present application. The following describes possible product forms of the communication device. It should be understood that any product having the functions of the communication device described in FIG. 30 falls within the scope of protection of the embodiment of the present application. It should also be understood that the following description is merely illustrative and does not limit the product forms of the communication device according to the embodiment of the present application to these examples.
[0376] In one possible implementation, in the communication device shown in FIG30 , the processing unit 20 may be one or more processors, the transceiver unit 10 may be a transceiver, or the transceiver unit 10 may be a transmitting unit and a receiving unit, the transmitting unit may be a transmitter, the receiving unit may be a receiver, and the transmitting unit and the receiving unit are integrated into a single device, such as a transceiver. In the embodiment of the present application, the processor and the transceiver may be coupled, etc., and the embodiment of the present application does not limit the connection method between the processor and the transceiver. During the execution of the above method, the process of sending information (such as sending a PPDU, etc.) in the above method can be understood as the process of the processor outputting the above information. When outputting the above information, the processor outputs the above information to the transceiver so that the transceiver can transmit it. After being output by the processor, the above information may also need to undergo other processing before reaching the transceiver. Similarly, the process of receiving information (such as receiving a PPDU, etc.) in the above method can be understood as the process of the processor receiving the input information. When the processor receives the input information, the transceiver receives the above information and inputs it into the processor. Furthermore, after the transceiver receives the above information, the above information may need to be processed further before being input into the processor.
[0377] Referring to Figure 31, Figure 31 is another schematic diagram of the structure of a communication device provided in an embodiment of the present application. The communication device can be a first communication device or a second communication device, or a chip therein. Figure 31 only shows the main components of the communication device. In addition to the processor 1001, it can generally include a transceiver 1002, and the communication device can further include a memory 1003. The communication device can also include an input and output device (not shown in the figure).
[0378] The processor 1001 is mainly used to process communication protocols and communication data, as well as to control the entire communication device, execute software programs, and process software program data. The memory 1003 is mainly used to store software programs and data. The transceiver 1002 is mainly used to realize information exchange between the communication device and the outside world. The transceiver 1002 can be implemented through input and output circuits, or the transceiver 1002 can include a control circuit and an antenna. The control circuit is mainly used to convert baseband signals into radio frequency signals and process radio frequency signals. The antenna is mainly used to transmit and receive radio frequency signals in the form of electromagnetic waves. Input and output devices, such as touch screens, displays, keyboards, etc., are mainly used to receive data input by users and output data to users.
[0379] When the communication device is powered on, the processor 1001 can read the software program in the memory 1003, interpret and execute the instructions of the software program, and process the data of the software program. When data needs to be sent wirelessly, the processor 1001 performs baseband processing on the data to be sent and outputs the baseband signal to the radio frequency circuit. The radio frequency circuit performs radio frequency processing on the baseband signal and then transmits the radio frequency signal to the outside in the form of electromagnetic waves through the antenna. When data is sent to the communication device, the radio frequency circuit receives the radio frequency signal through the antenna, converts the radio frequency signal into a baseband signal, and outputs the baseband signal to the processor 1001. The processor 1001 converts the baseband signal into data and processes the data.
[0380] In another implementation, the RF circuit and antenna may be provided independently of the processor performing baseband processing. For example, in a distributed scenario, the RF circuit and antenna may be remotely arranged independent of the communication device.
