Description

Electronic device, method and computer-readable storage medium for controlling a reference direction for moving a tile

[0001] The present disclosure relates to an electronic device, method and computer-readable storage medium for controlling a reference direction for movement of a tile.

[0002] A software application for providing a puzzle game through an electronic device is being developed. The electronic device executing the software application can display a map (or stage) including tiles arranged based on a two-dimensional grid. Based on a user's touch input, the electronic device can move at least one of the tiles displayed within the map. If, by moving the tile, tiles having the same shape (color, pattern, and / or texture) and exceeding a specified number (e.g., three) are arranged consecutively within the map along a reference direction (e.g., row direction and / or column direction) of the two-dimensional grid, the electronic device can remove the tiles. Based on the number of tiles removed, the electronic device can provide a reward to the user.

[0003] According to an embodiment, instructions included in a computer-readable storage medium may, when executed by a processor of an electronic device, cause the processor to display an area formed on a display of the electronic device, the area including slots in which one or more tiles can be placed, and icons corresponding to different reference directions for movement of tiles included in the area. The instructions, when executed by the processor, may cause the processor to display a tile corresponding to a first slot, in which a tile is placed, overlapping the first slot, in which the tile is placed, in a state in which a position of at least one tile displayed in the area is adjustable based on a user input for the area. The instructions, when executed by the processor, may cause the processor to identify a second slot, adjacent to the first slot along a reference direction indicated by an icon in a first designated state, among the icons, and to move the tile displayed overlapping the first slot to the second slot. The states of the above icons can be configured to be adjusted among a first designated state for indicating a reference direction for moving the tile, a second designated state that is adjustable to the first designated state, and a third designated state for indicating that the tile cannot be moved along the reference direction corresponding to the icon.

[0004] According to one embodiment, an electronic device may include a display and a processor. The processor may be configured to display icons corresponding to different reference directions for movement of tiles included in an area formed on the display and including slots in which one or more tiles can be arranged. The processor may be configured to display a tile corresponding to a first slot, in which a tile is arranged, overlapping the tile, in a state in which a position of at least one tile displayed in the area is adjustable based on a user input for the area. The processor may be configured to move the tile displayed overlapping the first slot to the second slot based on identifying a second slot adjacent to the first slot along a reference direction indicated by an icon in a first designated state among the icons. The states of the above icons can be adjusted among the first designated state for indicating a reference direction for moving the tile, the second designated state adjustable to the first designated state, and the third designated state for indicating that the tile cannot be moved along the reference direction corresponding to the icon.

[0005] In one embodiment, a method of an electronic device may include an operation of displaying icons corresponding to different reference directions for movement of tiles included in an area formed on a display of the electronic device and including slots in which one or more tiles can be deployed. The method may include an operation of displaying a tile corresponding to a first slot, in which a tile is deployed, overlapping the tile, on a first slot among the slots, in a state in which a position of at least one tile displayed in the area is adjustable based on a user input for the area. The method may include an operation of moving the tile displayed overlapping the first slot to a second slot based on identifying a second slot adjacent to the first slot along a reference direction indicated by an icon in a first designated state among the icons. The states of the icons may be adjusted from among the first designated state for indicating a reference direction for moving the tile, a second designated state adjustable to the first designated state, and a third designated state for indicating that the tile cannot be moved along the reference direction corresponding to the icon.

[0023] Referring to FIG. 1, different states (191, 192) of an electronic device (101) displaying a screen for a puzzle game are illustrated. Hardware included in the electronic device (101) to provide the screen of FIG. 1 and / or a program executed based on the hardware are described with reference to FIG. 2. Hereinafter, a screen may refer to a user interface (UI) displayed within at least a portion of a display (110). The screen may include, for example, Windows of a Windows operating system and / or an activity of an Android operating system. The embodiment is not limited thereto, and the screen may be formed in an external space by light output from the electronic device (101) to the external space. For example, the screen may be formed on a plane onto which the light is projected within the external space. For example, the screen may be displayed three-dimensionally in the form of a hologram within the external space. Based on a puzzle game, the electronic device (101) can provide the user with goals that can be achieved by changing the arrangement of tiles. For example, the electronic device (101) can provide a user experience (UX) of sequentially achieving goals distinguished by stages and / or maps.

[0024] Referring to an exemplary state (191) of FIG. 1, the electronic device (101) may display an area (120) formed on the display (110) and including slots in which one or more tiles may be deployed. The shape (or outline) of the area (120) may be set by a map (or stage) provided by the electronic device (101) in the state (191). For example, when the map (or stage) is switched, the electronic device (101) may change the shape, size, and / or color of the area (120) displayed within the display (110). The area (120) displayed within the display (110) may be switched based on whether a goal assigned to the area (120) has been achieved. The goal may be related to the map (or stage) provided by the electronic device (101).

[0025] According to one embodiment, the electronic device (101) may display icons (130) corresponding to different reference directions for movement of a tile included in an area (120). The reference direction may be referred to as a direction of gravity, in terms of the direction in which a tile falls. Referring to FIG. 1, the electronic device (101) may display icons (130) including a triangle facing the reference direction. The electronic device (101) may display a first icon (131) corresponding to a first reference direction toward the top (or +y direction) of the screen within a screen displayed based on a landscape mode. The electronic device (101) may display a second icon (132) corresponding to a second reference direction toward the left side (or -x direction) of the screen. The electronic device (101) may display a third icon (133) corresponding to a third reference direction toward the bottom (or -y direction) of the screen. The electronic device (101) may display a fourth icon (134) corresponding to a fourth reference direction toward the right side (or +x direction) of the screen. Although the electronic device (101) is illustrated as an example displaying four icons (130) corresponding to each of the four reference directions toward the four edges of the display (110), the number of icons (130) displayed by the electronic device (101) and the directions of the reference directions are not limited to the embodiment of FIG. 1.

[0026] According to one embodiment, the electronic device (101) may display one or more tiles within an area (120). A tile may include a visual object that is movable by a user input. The user input may include a touch input performed on the display (110) of the electronic device (101). The embodiment is not limited thereto, and the user input may be identified based on a keyboard and / or mouse connected to the electronic device (101). A tile may have the size of one slot within the area (120). The patterns, shapes, sizes, and / or colors of the tiles may be different from each other. Referring to FIG. 1, for convenience of explanation, tiles distinguished by alphabets (e.g., A tile, B tile, and / or C tile) are illustrated, but the embodiment is not limited thereto.

[0027] According to one embodiment, the electronic device (101) may display an area (140) in which items for applying functions (or special effects) to be applied to tiles displayed in the area (120) may be placed. Within the area (140), the electronic device (101) may display visual objects corresponding to items selectable by a user. Based on an item selected in the area (140), the electronic device (101) may execute a function corresponding to the item, thereby removing and / or moving at least one tile displayed in the area (120). The embodiment is not limited thereto, and in response to an input for selecting an item through the area (140), the electronic device (101) may execute a function corresponding to the item (e.g., a function for changing at least one tile displayed in the area (120) and / or a state of the tile). The function for changing a tile may include an operation for changing the shape, color, and / or one or more characters included in the tile. The ability to change the state of a tile may include actions that control the movability of said tile and / or the removableness of said tile.

[0028] According to one embodiment, the electronic device (101) may display a panel (150) for indicating a score. Within the panel (150), the electronic device (101) may display a numerical value corresponding to the score. Within the panel (150), the electronic device (101) may display a progress bar visualizing a reward (e.g., 1 to 3 stars) provided according to the score. The progress bar may have a fan shape. The electronic device (101) may visualize the number of stars provided according to the score by using a star-shaped image superimposed on the progress bar.

[0029] According to one embodiment, the electronic device (101) may display a panel (160) for indicating the status of a puzzle game performed through an area (120). Within the panel (160), the electronic device (101) may display a visual object (161) indicating the number of times a user can move a tile. For example, based on a touch input on the display (110) where the area (120) is displayed, each time tiles within the area (120) are moved, the electronic device (101) may gradually decrease a numerical value included in the visual object (161). If the numerical value becomes 0 before a goal associated with the area (120) is achieved, the electronic device (101) may stop the puzzle game provided based on the area (120). The electronic device (101) may stop the puzzle game and notify that the goal has been failed.

[0030] According to one embodiment, the electronic device (101) may display a visual object representing a goal corresponding to the area (120) within the area (162) of the panel (160). Referring to FIG. 1, the electronic device (101) may display a visual object indicating that 32 A blocks are to be removed within the area (162). Each time an A block within the area (162) is removed, the electronic device (101) may decrease a numerical value displayed within the area (162). When the numerical value displayed within the area (162) becomes 0, the electronic device (101) may determine that the goal has been achieved. When the goal has been achieved, the electronic device (101) may display another map (or stage) chained to the map (or stage) corresponding to the area (162) within the display (110).

[0031] According to one embodiment, the electronic device (101) may display, within the panel (160), a visual object (163) for indicating an identifier of a map (or stage) corresponding to an area (120) displayed on the display (110) (e.g., “7” within the exemplary state (191) of FIG. 1). The identifier included in the visual object (163) may correspond to a stage level of the map provided through the area (120). The electronic device (101) may display, within the panel (160), a visual object (164) corresponding to a screen for adjusting options related to a puzzle game (e.g., brightness of the display (110), volume of background music, and / or visual effects related to movement and / or falling of tiles). While a visual object (164) including an image and / or icon in the shape of a gear is illustrated as an example, the embodiment is not limited thereto.

[0032] According to one embodiment, the electronic device (101) can adjust the position of at least one tile displayed in the area (120) based on a touch input on the area (120). In the exemplary state (191) of FIG. 1, the electronic device (101) can identify a drag gesture that starts from a position (p1) on the C tile (171) displayed in the area (120) of the display (110) and moves along the direction (170) of the -x axis. Based on the drag gesture, the electronic device (101) can identify a touch input indicating movement of the C tile (171). In response to the touch input, the electronic device (101) can swap the positions of the B tile (172) and the C tile (171) that are arranged next to the C tile (171) along the direction (170) of the -x axis. The electronic device (101) can move tiles of a specific category based on touch input. For example, the electronic device (101) can allow moving tiles B and C based on touch input, and can restrict moving tile A based on touch input.

[0033] According to one embodiment, the electronic device (101) may remove tiles if identical tiles are consecutively arranged in a row direction (e.g., in the direction of the x-axis) and / or a column direction (e.g., in the direction of the y-axis) of the region (120) in excess of a specified number (e.g., 3). The electronic device (101) may remove tiles of a specific category based on the conditions described above. For example, the conditions under which each tile is removed from the region (120) may be different. In the exemplary state (191) of FIG. 1, the electronic device (101) may remove the B tile and / or the C tile based on the conditions. The electronic device (101) may remove the A tile based on whether other tiles adjacent to the A tile are removed. The slots in which the tiles were placed may be changed to empty slots as the tiles are removed. The electronic device (101) may move other tiles adjacent to the empty slots to the empty slots. For example, the electronic device (101) can fill an empty slot using a tile from another slot connected to the empty slot according to the reference direction set by the icons (130). If the empty slot is adjacent to the boundary line of the area (120) and there is no slot next to the empty slot along the reference direction, the electronic device (101) can fill the empty slot with a random tile. For example, the electronic device (101) can determine the shape, color, image, icon, and / or text of the tile to be placed in the empty slot based on a random number.

[0034] In the state (191) of FIG. 1, the positions of the B tile (172) and the C tile (171) may be swapped based on a touch input based on a direction (170). As the positions of the B tile (172) and the C tile (171) are swapped, three B tiles may be arranged along the column direction of the area (120), and three C tiles may be arranged along the column direction of the area (120). The electronic device (101) may remove the three B tiles arranged along the column direction, and remove the three C tiles arranged along the column direction. The state (192) of FIG. 1 may be a state after the electronic device (101) removes the three B tiles and the three C tiles within the area (120).

[0035] According to one embodiment, the electronic device (101) may move at least one of the tiles displayed in the area (120) based on the icons (130). In a state (191) in which a third icon (133) corresponding to a third reference direction toward the bottom of the screen is selected, the electronic device (101) may move tiles (e.g., B tile to C tile) that are movable by touch input along the third reference direction. In the state (191) of FIG. 1, since there is no empty slot adjacent to B tile to C tile along the third reference direction, the electronic device (101) may not move any tile along the third reference direction.

[0036] In state (192) of FIG. 1, the electronic device (101) can identify an input indicating selection of a fourth icon (134) corresponding to the third reference direction toward the right side of the screen among the icons (130). Based on the input, the electronic device (101) can move tiles that are movable by touch input along the fourth reference direction. For example, since there are empty slots adjacent to the B tiles (181, 183) and the C tile (183) along the fourth reference direction, the electronic device (101) can move the B tiles (181, 183) and the C tile (183) along the fourth reference direction. The electronic device (101) can repeatedly move the B tiles (181, 183) and the C tile (183) along the fourth reference direction until there are no empty slots adjacent to the B tiles and the C tiles along the fourth reference direction. For example, a B tile (181) can be moved along the fourth reference direction to an empty slot (184). For example, a C tile (182) can be moved along the fourth reference direction to an empty slot (185). After moving the C tile (182) to the empty slot (185), the electronic device (101) can complete the movement of the C tile (182) based on identifying an A tile positioned next to the empty slot (185) along the fourth reference direction. Similarly, a B tile (183) can be moved along the fourth reference direction to an empty slot (185).

[0037] According to one embodiment, the electronic device (101) may identify an input indicating a selection of a reference direction based on the states of the icons (130). For example, the states of the icons (130) may include a first designated state for indicating a reference direction for moving the tiles. Within a state (192) in which the tiles are moved along a fourth reference direction, the state of a fourth icon (134) corresponding to the fourth reference direction may correspond to the first designated state. Within a state (191) in which the tiles are moved along a third reference direction, the state of a third icon (133) corresponding to the third reference direction may correspond to the first designated state. The electronic device (101) may adjust the states of the icons (130) such that only one of the icons (130) has the first designated state. The electronic device (101) may display an icon of a first designated state (e.g., a fourth icon (134) within a state (192)) in a color different from the colors of other icons (e.g., green).

[0038] For example, the state of the icons (130) may include a second designated state (or candidate state) that is adjustable to the first designated state. Within the state (192) of FIG. 1, the states of the first icon (131) and / or the third icon (133), excluding the fourth icon (134), may correspond to the second designated state. Within the state (191) of FIG. 1, based on an input indicating selection of the fourth icon (134) within the second designated state, the electronic device (101) may change the state of the fourth icon (134) from the second designated state to the first designated state, and move the tiles included within the area (120) along a fourth reference direction corresponding to the third icon (134). The electronic device (101) may display the icon of the second designated state in a different color (e.g., blue) than the color of the icon of the first designated state.

[0039] For example, the state of the icons (130) may include a third designated state (or blocking state) to indicate that the tile cannot be moved along a reference direction corresponding to the icon. Within the states (191, 192) of FIG. 1, the state of the second icon (132) corresponding to the second reference direction may correspond to the third designated state. Within the states (191, 192) of FIG. 1, the electronic device (101) may maintain the state of the second icon (132) in the third designated state independently of an input to the second icon (132). The third designated state may include a state in which the icon cannot be selected. The electronic device (101) may embed a designated image (e.g., an image representing an “X”) corresponding to the third designated state in the second icon (132) of the third designated state. The electronic device (101) may display the second icon (132) of the third designated state in a color different from the colors of other icons of the first designated state or the second designated state. The electronic device (101) may identify at least one icon corresponding to the third designated state among the icons (130) based on information (e.g., map information and / or stage information) corresponding to the area (120). For example, the states (191, 192) of FIG. 1 may correspond to states in which the second icon (132) is identified as corresponding to the third designated state by the information.

[0040] As described above, according to one embodiment, the electronic device (101) can change the reference direction for moving tiles displayed in the area (120) using icons (130) selectable by the user. The state of the icons (130) can be adjusted from among a first designated state to a third designated state. The electronic device (101) can provide a visual effect, such as dropping (or moving based on acceleration) at least one tile included in the area (120), based on the reference direction corresponding to the icon of the first designated state.

[0041] FIG. 2 illustrates an example of a block diagram of an electronic device (101), according to one embodiment. The electronic device (101) of FIG. 1 may be an example of the electronic device (101) of FIG. 2. According to one embodiment, the electronic device (101) may include at least one of a processor (210), a memory (220), a display (110), or a sensor (240). The processor (210), the memory (220), the display (110), and the sensor (240) may be electrically and / or operably coupled with each other by an electronic component, such as a communication bus (202). Hereinafter, operably coupled hardware may mean that a direct connection or an indirect connection is established between the hardwares, either wired or wireless, such that a second hardware is controlled by a first hardware among the hardwares. Although illustrated based on different blocks, the embodiment is not limited thereto, and some of the hardware of FIG. 2 (e.g., at least a portion of the processor (210) and the memory (220)) may be included in a single integrated circuit such as a system on a chip (SoC). The type and / or number of hardware included in the electronic device (101) is not limited to that illustrated in FIG. 2. For example, the electronic device (101) may include only some of the hardware components illustrated in FIG. 2.

[0042] According to one embodiment, the processor (210) of the electronic device (101) may include a hardware component for processing data based on one or more instructions. The hardware component for processing data may include, for example, an arithmetic and logic unit (ALU), a floating point unit (FPU), a field programmable gate array (FPGA), a central processing unit (CPU), and / or an application processor (AP). The number of processors (210) may be one or more. For example, the processor (210) may have a multi-core processor structure such as a dual core, a quad core, or a hexa core.

[0043] According to one embodiment, the memory (220) of the electronic device (101) may include hardware components for storing data and / or instructions input and / or output to the processor (210). The memory (220) may include, for example, volatile memory such as random-access memory (RAM) and / or non-volatile memory such as read-only memory (ROM). The volatile memory may include, for example, at least one of dynamic RAM (DRAM), static RAM (SRAM), cache RAM, and pseudo SRAM (PSRAM). The non-volatile memory may include, for example, at least one of programmable ROM (PROM), erasable PROM (EPROM), electrically erasable PROM (EEPROM), flash memory, hard disk, compact disc, solid state drive (SSD), and embedded multi-media card (eMMC).

[0044] According to one embodiment, the display (110) of the electronic device (101) can output visualized information to the user (e.g., screens displayed through the display (110) in each of the states (191, 192) of FIG. 1). For example, the display (110) can be controlled by a controller, such as a graphic processing unit (GPU), to output visualized information to the user. The display (110) can include a liquid crystal display (LCD), a plasma display panel (PDP), and / or one or more light emitting diodes (LEDs). The LEDs can include organic LEDs (OLEDs). The display (110) can include a flat panel display (FPD) and / or electronic paper. The embodiment is not limited thereto, and the display (110) can have an at least partially curved shape or a deformable shape.

[0045] According to one embodiment, the sensor (240) of the electronic device (101) may generate electrical information that may be processed by the processor (210) and / or the memory (220) from non-electronic information related to the electronic device (101). For example, the sensor (240) may include a global positioning system (GPS) sensor for detecting a geographic location of the electronic device (101). In addition to the GPS method, the sensor (240) may generate information indicating the geographic location of the electronic device (101) based on a global navigation satellite system (GNSS) such as, for example, Galileo, Beidou (compass). The information may be stored in the memory (220), processed by the processor (210), and / or transmitted to another electronic device distinct from the electronic device (101) via the communication circuit (280). The sensor (270) is not limited to those described above, and may include an image sensor, an illuminance sensor, and / or a ToF sensor for detecting electromagnetic waves including light.

[0046] Referring to FIG. 2, as an example of a sensor (240) included in an electronic device (101), a touch sensor (242) and / or a gyro sensor (244) are illustrated. The touch sensor (242) may be configured to detect an external object (e.g., a user's finger) on the display (110). The touch sensor (242) for detecting the external object on the display (110) may be referred to as a touch sensor panel (TSP). For example, based on the TSP, the processor (210) may detect an external object that is in contact with the display (110) or floating on the display (110). In response to detecting the external object, the processor (210) may execute a function related to a specific visual object corresponding to a location of the external object on the display (110) among visual objects displayed within the display (110).

[0047] According to one embodiment, the gyro sensor (244) of the electronic device (101) may output an electrical signal representing respective velocities of each of the plurality of axes. The processor (210) may detect the rotation (e.g., roll, pitch, and / or yaw) of the electronic device (101) based on the respective velocities. The processor (210) may repeatedly obtain sensor data including the magnitudes of the angular velocities of the plurality of axes from the gyro sensor (244) based on a specified period (e.g., 1 millisecond). According to one embodiment, the electronic device (101) may further include a sensor for identifying the motion of the electronic device (101), such as an acceleration sensor and / or a geomagnetic sensor, in addition to the gyro sensor (244). In one embodiment, an inertial measurement unit (IMU) may include the gyro sensor (244), the acceleration sensor, the geomagnetic sensor, or any combination thereof.

[0048] Although not illustrated, the electronic device (101) according to one embodiment may include an output means for outputting information in a form other than a visualized form. For example, the electronic device (101) may include a speaker for outputting an acoustic signal. For example, the electronic device (101) may include a motor for providing haptic feedback based on vibration.

[0049] According to one embodiment, one or more instructions (or commands) representing operations and / or actions to be performed on data by the processor (210) may be stored in the memory (220) of the electronic device (101). A set of one or more instructions may be referred to as firmware, an operating system, a process, a routine, a sub-routine, and / or a software application (or applications). For example, the electronic device (101) and / or the processor (210) may perform at least one of the operations of FIG. 13 when a set of a plurality of instructions distributed in the form of an operating system, firmware, a driver, and / or an application is executed. Hereinafter, the fact that an application is installed in an electronic device (101) may mean that one or more instructions provided in the form of an application are stored in the memory (220) of the electronic device (101), and that the one or more applications are stored in a format executable by the processor (210) of the electronic device (101) (e.g., a file having an extension specified by the operating system of the electronic device (101)).

[0050] According to one embodiment, the electronic device (101) may display a screen for a puzzle game based on the execution of the application (250). The application (250) may be referred to as a software application for a puzzle game. While the application (250) is being executed, the processor (210) of the electronic device (101) may display an area (e.g., area (120) of FIG. 1) on which tiles may be placed. The area may be identified based on map information (252) included in the application (250). For example, the processor (210) may display the shape of the area and / or one or more tiles included in the area (e.g., A tiles of FIG. 1) within the display (110) based on the map information (252). The processor (210) can use the touch sensor (242) to identify an input indicating movement of a tile displayed in an area (e.g., a drag gesture to swap the B tile (172) and the C tile (171) along the direction (170) of FIG. 1).

[0051] According to one embodiment, the electronic device (101) may display icons (130) for adjusting a reference direction for movement of a tile within the display (110). While displaying icons (130) including a first icon (131) to a fourth icon (134) on the display (110), the processor (210) may use a touch sensor (242) and / or a gyro sensor (244) to identify an input indicating selection of any one of the icons (130). For example, based on a touch input (e.g., a tap gesture) identified using the touch sensor (242), the electronic device (101) may identify an input indicating selection of any one of the icons (130).

[0052] In one embodiment, based on a motion of the electronic device (101) identified using the gyro sensor (244), the processor (210) can identify an input indicating a selection of any one of the icons (130). For example, the processor (210) can identify an input indicating a selection of a first reference direction (e.g., +y-axis direction) and / or a first icon (131) based on a motion to rotate the electronic device (101) along a clockwise direction (261) about the x-axis. The processor (210) can identify an input indicating a selection of a third reference direction (e.g., -y-axis direction) and / or a third icon (133) based on a motion to rotate the electronic device (101) along a counterclockwise direction (262) about the x-axis. The processor (210) may identify an input indicating selection of a fourth reference direction (e.g., +x-axis direction) and / or a fourth icon (134) based on a motion for rotating the electronic device (101) along a clockwise direction (264) with respect to the y-axis. The processor (210) may identify an input indicating selection of a second reference direction (e.g., -x-axis direction) and / or a second icon (132) based on a motion for rotating the electronic device (101) along a counterclockwise direction (263) with respect to the y-axis. The processor (210) that identifies any one of the inputs described above may change the state of an icon corresponding to the identified input to the first designated state described with reference to FIG. 1. The processor (210) may restrict changing the state of the icon to the first designated state if the state of the icon prior to identifying the input corresponds to the third designated state of FIG. 1.

[0053] Below, with reference to FIGS. 3 to 13, an example of an operation performed by the processor (210) based on the execution of an application (250) is described.

[0054] FIG. 3 illustrates an example of an operation of an electronic device (101) that moves one or more tiles along a reference direction. The electronic device (101) of FIGS. 1 and 2 and / or the processor (210) of FIG. 2 may perform the operation of the electronic device (101) described with reference to FIG. 3.

[0055] Referring to FIG. 3, different states (192, 301, 302) of an electronic device (101) displaying a screen for a puzzle game on a display (110) are illustrated. The state (192) of FIG. 3 may correspond to the state (192) of FIG. 1. As described above with reference to FIG. 1, the electronic device (101) may move, within the state (192), movable tiles (e.g., B tiles (181, 183) and C tiles (182)) within the area (120) along a fourth reference direction corresponding to a fourth icon (134). For example, each of the B tiles (181, 183) and the C tile (182) may be moved to empty slots (184, 186, 185) within the area (120) along the fourth reference direction. The electronic device (101) can move each of the B tiles (181, 183) and the C tile (182) to empty slots (184, 186, 185) within the area (120) along the fourth reference direction, thereby playing an animation in which the movable tiles within the area (120) including the B tiles (181, 183) and the C tile (182) fall along the third reference direction.

[0056] Referring to FIG. 3, a state (302) is illustrated in which the electronic device (101) moves each of the B tiles (181, 183) and the C tile (182) along the fourth reference direction to empty slots (184, 186, 185) within the area (120). Within the state (302), the electronic device (101) may determine whether to remove the movable tiles from the area (120) based on the arrangement of the movable tiles. For example, the electronic device (101) may identify three B tiles (310) arranged along the column direction (e.g., the direction of the y-axis) of the area (120) and three C tiles (320) arranged along the column direction of the area (120). The electronic device (101) can remove the B tiles (310) and the C tiles (320) from the area (120) based on the removal conditions of the movable tiles. Based on the removal of the B tiles (310), the electronic device (101) can determine whether to remove the non-movable tiles (e.g., A tiles).

[0057] In the exemplary state (302) of FIG. 3, it is assumed that an A tile is removed by removal of a movable tile adjacent to the A tile along the column direction and / or the row direction. Based on the above assumption, the electronic device (101) can remove from the area (120) the B tiles (310) removed from the area (120) and the adjacent A tiles (311, 314) along the column direction, and the A tiles (312, 313) adjacent to the B tiles (310) along the row direction (e.g., the direction of the x-axis). Based on the above assumption, the electronic device (101) can remove from the area (120) the C tiles (320) removed from the area (120) and the adjacent A tiles (321, 322) along the column direction. As described above, within state (302), A tiles (311, 312, 313, 314, 321, 322) together with B tiles (310) and C tiles (320) can be removed from area (120). Based on removing B tiles (310), C tiles (320) and A tiles (311, 312, 313, 314, 321, 322), the electronic device (101) can identify empty slots within area (120) based on the locations of the removed tiles.

[0058] Referring to FIG. 3, in the state (302), the electronic device (101) that has removed the B tiles (310), the C tiles (320), and the A tiles (311, 312, 313, 314, 321, 322) can move the tiles of other slots connected to each of the empty slots in the area (120) based on the reference direction selected by the icons (130). When the fourth icon (134) corresponding to the fourth reference direction of the right side of the screen (e.g., +x direction) is selected, the electronic device (101) can place the tiles of other slots adjacent to the empty slot along the fourth reference direction in the empty slot in the area (120).

[0059] Referring to FIG. 3, a state (303) after state (302) is illustrated, in which the electronic device (101) fills empty slots generated within the region (120) based on the removal of B tiles (310), C tiles (320) and A tiles (311, 312, 313, 314, 321, 322). Within state (303) of FIG. 3, the electronic device (101) can change a visual object representing a goal within the region (162) based on the number of A tiles. The electronic device (101) can change a score included in the panel (150) based on the removal of A tiles (311, 312, 313, 314, 321, 322).

[0060] As described above, according to one embodiment, the electronic device (101) may, within a state in which the position of at least one tile displayed in the area (120) can be adjusted based on a touch input on the area (120), display a tile corresponding to a first slot, in which the tile is arranged, in an overlapping manner on the first slot among the slots. The electronic device (101) may, based on identifying a second slot (e.g., an empty slot) adjacent to the first slot along a reference direction indicated by an icon of a first designated state among the icons (130), move the tile displayed in an overlapping manner on the first slot to the second slot. As the reference direction is adjusted by the input to the icons (130), the electronic device (101) may change the direction in which the tile displayed in the area (120) is moved.

[0061] Hereinafter, with reference to FIGS. 4A and 4B, an example of the operation of an electronic device (101) that moves movable tiles based on a change in a reference direction based on icons (130) is described.

[0062] FIGS. 4A and 4B illustrate an example of an operation of an electronic device (101) that moves one or more tiles along a reference direction. The electronic device (101) of FIGS. 1 and 2 and / or the processor (210) of FIG. 2 may perform the operations described with reference to FIGS. 4A and 4B.

[0063] Referring to FIG. 4A, different states (401, 402, 403) of an electronic device (101) displaying a screen for a puzzle game on a display (110) are illustrated. Within the state (401) of FIG. 4A, the electronic device (101) may display a first icon (131), a second icon (132), and a fourth icon (134) of a second designated state, and may display a third icon (133) of the first designated state. For example, within the state (401) of FIG. 4A, the electronic device (101) may move movable tiles within an area (120) along a third reference direction corresponding to the third icon (133).

[0064] According to one embodiment, the electronic device (101) can control the mobility of a tile. The electronic device (101) can display an image for visualizing the mobility of the tile by overlapping the tile. In the exemplary state (401) of FIG. 4A, to indicate that the mobility of the B tile (413) is limited, the electronic device (101) can display images (413-1, 413-2) overlapping the B tile (413). The images (413-1, 413-2) can have the form of an object (e.g., a chain and / or rope) for tying the B tile (413) to the area (120). The electronic device (101) can display the images (413-1, 413-2) extending in the row direction and the column direction of the area (120) by overlapping the B tile (413). For example, the electronic device (101) may display images (414-1, 414-2) extended in the row direction and the column direction, respectively, as overlays on the B tile (414) to indicate that the mobility of the B tile (414) is limited. The embodiment is not limited thereto, and the electronic device (101) may display images extended in the row direction and the column direction of the area (120) as overlays on the tiles.

[0065] Referring to FIG. 4A, it is assumed that the A tile is an immovable tile and the B tile is a movable tile. Within the state (401) of FIG. 4A, the electronic device (101) can move the movable B tiles (411, 413, 414) along a third reference direction corresponding to the third icon (133) of the first designated state. For example, the electronic device (101) can move the B tile (411) along the third reference direction based on identifying an empty slot adjacent to the B tile (411) along the third reference direction. As the B tile (411) is sequentially moved to the empty slots adjacent to the B tile (411) along the third reference direction, the B tile (411) can be moved to an empty slot (412) adjacent to the boundary of the area (120). The state (402) after the state (401) of Fig. 4a may be a state after the B tile (411) has been moved to an empty slot (412).

[0066] Within the state (402) of FIG. 4A, B tiles (411, 413, 414) may be arranged consecutively along the row direction of the region (120). The electronic device (101) that identifies B tiles (411, 413, 414) arranged consecutively in a specified number (e.g., three) or more along the row direction may change the states of the B tiles (411, 413, 414). For example, the electronic device (101) may remove a B tile (411) that is movable along the reference direction set by the icons (130). For example, the electronic device (101) may remove at least one of the images (413-1, 413-2) overlapping on the B tile (413). Referring to FIG. 4A, the state (402) after the image (413-1) is removed is illustrated, but the embodiment is not limited thereto. Similarly, the electronic device (101) may remove at least one of the images (414-1, 414-2) overlaid on the B tile (414). For example, the images (413-1, 413-2, 414-1, 414-2) for indicating mobility restrictions may be removed in place of the tiles (e.g., B tiles (413, 414)) overlaid on the image.

[0067] Although an embodiment is described in which images (413-1, 413-2, 414-1, 414-2) for indicating a limitation of mobility are removed by tiles that are consecutively arranged in a number greater than or equal to a specified number along the row direction and / or column direction of the area (120), the embodiment is not limited thereto. For example, the electronic device (101) may remove at least one of the images (413-1, 413-2, 414-1, 414-2) based on an item displayed in the area (140) and / or a tile assigned a special function within the area (120) (e.g., a tile assigned a function for removing one or more other tiles displayed in the area (120). For example, in response to an input indicating that a tile (413) is removed and / or a tile having a special function assigned thereto is different from the B tile (413), the electronic device (101) may remove at least one of the images (413-1, 413-2).

[0068] In one embodiment, removing images (413-1, 413-2, 414-1, 414-2) for indicating mobility restrictions may be set as a goal corresponding to the area (120). Referring to states (401, 402), the electronic device (101) may display the number of images (413-1, 413-2, 414-1, 414-2) displayed in the area (120) through the area (162) within the panel (160). In the state (402) where the images (413-1, 414-1) are removed, the electronic device (101) may reduce the number.

[0069] In one embodiment, as the images (414-1, 414-2) are removed, the directions in which the B tile (414) can move may increase. Referring to the state (401) of FIG. 4A, by using the image (414-1) having a form that groups the B tiles (414) along the row direction and the image (414-2) having a form that groups the B tiles (414) along the column direction, the electronic device (101) may indicate that the movement of the B tile (414) with respect to both the row direction and the column direction is restricted. In the state (402) in which the image (414-1) is removed, the electronic device (101) may indicate that the movement of the B tile (414) with respect to the row direction is restricted using the image (414-2) corresponding to the row direction. Within the state (402) of FIG. 4a, if the reference direction identified by the icons (130) is a direction parallel to the row direction (e.g., the first reference direction and / or the third reference direction), the electronic device (101) can move the B tile (414) along the reference direction. Within the state (402) of FIG. 4a, if the reference direction identified by the icons (130) is a direction parallel to the column direction (e.g., the second reference direction and / or the fourth reference direction), the electronic device (101) can restrict the movement of the B tile (414) along the reference direction.

[0070] In state (402) of Fig. 4a, it is assumed that the electronic device (101) has identified an input indicating selection of a first icon (131) from the user. State (403) of Fig. 4a may be a state of the electronic device (101) after identifying an input indicating selection of the first icon (131). Referring to state (403) of Fig. 4a, based on the input, the electronic device (101) may change the state of the first icon (131) to a first designated state. The electronic device (101) may move the movable tiles included in the area (120) along a first reference direction (e.g., +y direction) corresponding to the first icon (131). In a state (402) in which the B tile (411) is removed and the image (414-1) for limiting the movement of the B tile (414) along the column direction is removed, the electronic device (101) can move the B tile (414) along the first reference direction. Similarly, in a state (402) in which the image (414-1) for limiting the movement of the B tile (413) along the column direction is removed, the electronic device (101) can move the B tile (413) along the first reference direction.

[0071] Referring to FIG. 4A, an electronic device (101) that has identified an input indicating selection of a first icon (131) may switch from a state (402) to a state (403). Within the state (403), the electronic device (101) may move the B tiles (413, 414) along a first reference direction. While switching from the state (402) to the state (403), as the B tiles (413, 414) are sequentially moved to empty slots adjacent to the first reference direction, the electronic device (101) may play an animation such as moving the B tiles (413, 414) along the first reference direction (e.g., an animation such as the B tiles (413, 414) being moved based on a specified acceleration and / or force).

[0072] In one embodiment, images displayed as overlapping on a specific tile to restrict movement may be selectively removed depending on the direction in which tiles identical to the specific tile are arranged. Referring to FIG. 4B, an exemplary state (401) of an electronic device (101) displaying images (441, 442) as overlapping on a B tile (440) is illustrated. The images (441, 442) may be displayed by the electronic device (101) to indicate that movement of the B tile (440) is restricted.

[0073] Referring to FIG. 4B, in response to identifying B tiles (445, 446) positioned adjacent to a B tile (440) along the column direction of the region (120), the electronic device (101) may switch to a state (405). Having identified B tiles (440, 445, 446) positioned consecutively along the column direction, the electronic device (101) may remove an image (441) corresponding to the column direction from among the images (441, 442) superimposed on the B tile (440). In the state (405) after the image (441) is removed, the electronic device (101) may display an image (442) superimposed on the B tile (440) to indicate that the B tile (440) may move in the column direction among the row direction or the column direction of the region (120). Within the state (405), the B tile (440) can be moved within the region (120) along the selected reference direction when a direction parallel to the column direction of the region (120) is selected as the reference direction (e.g., reference directions corresponding to the first icon (131) and / or the third icon (133)). Within the state (405), when a direction parallel to the row direction of the region (120) is selected as the reference direction (e.g., the second icon (132) and / or the fourth icon (134)), the electronic device (101) can restrict the movement of the B tile (440) along the selected reference direction.

[0074] Referring to FIG. 4B, in response to identifying B tiles (443, 444) positioned adjacent to B tile (440) along the row direction of the region (120), the electronic device (101) may switch to a state (406). Within the state (406), among the images (441, 442) superimposed on the B tile (440), the image (442) corresponding to the direction in which the B tiles (440, 443, 444) are positioned (e.g., the row direction of the region (120)) may be removed. Within the state (406) after the image (442) is removed, the electronic device (101) may display the image (441) superimposed on the B tile (440) to indicate that the B tile (440) is restricted from moving in the column direction of the region (120). Within the state (406), if a direction parallel to the column direction of the region (120) is selected as a reference direction (e.g., reference directions corresponding to the first icon (131) and / or the third icon (133)), the electronic device (101) may not change the position of the B tile (440). Within the state (406), if a direction parallel to the row direction of the region (120) is selected as a reference direction (e.g., the second icon (132) and / or the fourth icon (134)), the electronic device (101) may move the B tile (440) along the selected reference direction.

[0075] As described above, according to one embodiment, the electronic device (101) can limit the mobility of a tile by using an image (e.g., images (413-1, 413-2, 414-1, 414-2)) superimposed on the tile. While the image is superimposed on the tile, the electronic device (101) can remove the image based on a removal condition for the tile and restore the mobility of the tile. By using the image to limit the mobility of the tile, the electronic device (101) can diversify the goal of the puzzle game. Within a state where selectable options for the reference direction in which the tile is moved (e.g., icons (130) corresponding to different reference directions) are provided, the electronic device (101) can display an image for limiting the mobility of the tile with respect to a specific reference direction. Based on the above image, the electronic device (101) can allow movement of the tile in a specific reference direction and restrict movement of the tile in another reference direction different from the specific reference direction.

[0076] FIG. 5 illustrates an example of an operation of an electronic device (101) that moves one or more tiles along a reference direction. The electronic device (101) of FIGS. 1 and 2 and / or the processor (210) of FIG. 2 may perform the operation described with reference to FIG. 5.

[0077] Referring to FIG. 5, different states (501, 502) of an electronic device (101) displaying a screen for a puzzle game on a display (110) are illustrated. The screen for the puzzle game may be displayed based on the execution of the application (250) of FIG. 2. For example, the electronic device (101) may use map information (252) of FIG. 2 to identify an area (120) to be displayed within the display (110) in states (501, 502). According to one embodiment, the electronic device (101) may display a tile in an overlapping manner on at least one slot in which a tile is arranged among a plurality of slots within the area (120). The tiles arranged in the plurality of slots within the area (120) may be moved and / or removed based on a reference direction identified based on a touch input and / or icons (130) on the area (120).

[0078] In an exemplary state (501) of FIG. 5, according to an embodiment, the electronic device (101) may display six A tiles and D tiles (511, 512) within an area (120). The A tiles and D tiles (511, 512) may be arranged in slots arranged in a two-dimensional grid within the area (120), respectively. It is assumed that the A tiles are tiles having limited mobility. According to an embodiment, the electronic device (101) may replace tiles arranged in adjacent slots based on a touch input on the area (120). If the tiles are included in a category that can be replaced based on the touch input, the electronic device (101) may replace the tiles.

[0079] In one embodiment, a movable tile provided through an area (120) can be moved within the area (120) based on a touch input and / or a reference direction. The electronic device (101) can control the mobility of the movable tile based on an attribute assigned to the tile. For example, the D tiles (511, 512) can be moved along a reference direction selected by the icons (130) among the touch input or the reference direction. In the above example, the electronic device (101) may not move the D tiles (511, 512) based on a touch input to the D tiles (511, 512).

[0080] Referring to FIG. 5, within a state (501) displaying a fourth icon (134) of a first designated state, the electronic device (101) can move D tiles (511, 512) along a fourth reference direction (e.g., +x direction) corresponding to the fourth icon (134). Since the D tile (512) is adjacent to a boundary line of the area (120) along the fourth reference direction, the electronic device (101) can restrict the movement of the D tile (512). The electronic device (101) can move the D tile (511) to one or more empty slots next to the D tile (511) along the fourth reference direction. Referring to FIG. 5, within an exemplary state (501) in which a plurality of empty slots are positioned next to the D tile (511) along the fourth reference direction, the electronic device (101) can continuously move the D tile (511) along the plurality of empty slots. Based on the above continuous movement, the electronic device (101) can move the D tile (511) to an empty slot (520).

[0081] Referring to FIG. 5, a state (502) in which a D tile (511) is moved to an empty slot (520) is illustrated. Within the state (502), since the D tile (511) is adjacent to the boundary line of the area (120) along the fourth reference direction, the electronic device (101) may restrict the movement of the D tile (511). In one embodiment, the electronic device (101) may change the position of a movable tile within the area (120) based on the reference direction selected by the icons (130). Within the state (502) of FIG. 5, based on an input indicating selection of a third icon (133) corresponding to a third reference direction, the electronic device (101) may change the state of the third icon (133) to a first designated state. The state (503) of FIG. 5 may be a state of the electronic device (101) after identifying an input indicating selection of the third icon (133). Based on the state of the third icon (133) being changed to the first designated state, the electronic device (101) can change the state of another icon (e.g., the fourth icon (134)) that is different from the third icon (133) to a state that is different from the first designated state.

[0082] Referring to FIG. 5, within a state (503) after identifying an input indicating selection of a third icon (133), the electronic device (101) can move D tiles (511, 512) along a third reference direction corresponding to the third icon (133). Since the D tile (512) is adjacent to the boundary line of the area (120) along the third reference direction, the electronic device (101) can restrict the movement of the D tile (512). The electronic device (101) can move the D tile (511) to empty slots located next to the D tile (511) along the third reference direction. Within an exemplary state (502) in which a plurality of empty slots are located next to the D tile (511) along the third reference direction, the electronic device (101) can continuously move the D tile (511) along the plurality of empty slots. Referring to FIG. 5, the electronic device (101) can move the D tile (511) to an empty slot (530) along the third reference direction.

[0083] Within the state (503) of FIG. 5, the D tile (511) moved to the empty slot (530) of the state (502) may be positioned adjacent to the D tile (512) within the area (120). The electronic device (101) that has identified the adjacently positioned D tiles (511, 512) may determine whether to remove the D tiles (511, 512) based on an attribute (e.g., a removal condition) assigned to the D tiles (511, 512). For example, it is assumed that the D tiles (511, 512) have a condition for being removed based on being adjacent along the row or column direction, and have an attribute for removing another tile (e.g., an A tile) as they are removed. An electronic device (101) that has identified adjacently positioned D tiles (511, 512) can, based on the above assumption, remove the D tiles (511, 512) from the area (120) and remove other tiles (e.g., A tiles) that match the above properties from the area (120).

[0084] FIGS. 6A and 6B illustrate an example of an operation of an electronic device (101) that changes the state of a tile using a reference direction identified by a user input. The electronic device (101) of FIGS. 1 and 2 and / or the processor (210) of FIG. 2 may perform the operations described with reference to FIGS. 6A and 6B.

[0085] Referring to FIG. 6A, different states (601, 602, 603) of an electronic device (101) displaying a screen for a puzzle game on a display (110) are illustrated. According to one embodiment, the electronic device (101) may, based on a touch input on an area (120), display a tile corresponding to a first slot in which a tile is arranged, in an overlapping manner on a first slot in which the tile is arranged, in a state in which the position of at least one tile displayed on the area (120) is adjustable. The electronic device (101) may control movement of the tile based on an attribute assigned to the tile. Movement of the tile may be controlled by at least one of a touch input performed on the area (120) and / or a reference direction identified by icons (130).

[0086] Referring to FIG. 6A, an exemplary state (601) of an electronic device (101) displaying a plurality of tiles in an area (120) is illustrated. It is assumed that the B tile and the C tile are included in a category that can be moved by a reference direction identified by a touch input and / or icons (130) on the area (120). In FIG. 6A, a tile including an arrow pointing in the -y direction may have an attribute that makes it an immovable tile and is removed by another tile that is adjacent to the tile. Removal of a tile including an arrow pointing in the -y direction may be allowed as long as the reference direction identified by the icons (130) matches the direction of the arrow displayed on the tile.

[0087] Referring to FIG. 6A, the electronic device (101) can detect a drag gesture performed along a direction (610) from a position (p1) on the B tile (611). Based on the drag gesture, the electronic device (101) can identify a touch input indicating the swapping of the B tile (611) and the C tile (612). Since the B tile (611) and the C tile (612) are included in the movable category, the electronic device (101) that identified the touch input can swap the positions of the B tile (611) and the C tile (612) within the area (120). The state (602) of FIG. 6A is a state subsequent to the state (601), and may be a state immediately after the positions of the B tile (611) and the C tile (612) are swapped.

[0088] Within the state (602) of FIG. 6A, the electronic device (101) can identify three B tiles (611, 613, 614) arranged along the row direction of the area (120) by a touch input performed within the state (601). The electronic device (101) that has identified B tiles (611, 613, 614) arranged consecutively along the row direction in a number greater than a specified number can remove the B tiles (611, 613, 614) from the area (120). An electronic device (101) that identifies tiles (615, 616, 617) that are positioned adjacent to B tiles (611, 613, 614) and include arrows pointing in the -y direction can determine whether to remove the tiles (615, 616, 617) based on the attributes assigned to the tiles (615, 616, 617). Referring to FIG. 6A, since the state of the third icon (133) is the first designated state and the third reference direction of the third icon (133) is the -y direction, the electronic device (101) can change the states of the tiles (615, 616, 617). For example, the electronic device (101) can remove the tiles (615, 616) from the area (120).

[0089] In one embodiment, a tile (617) may be removed from an area (120) based on a plurality of satisfying of a removal condition. The electronic device (101) may display a number of times remaining for removal of the tile (617) by overlaying it on the tile (617). Within a state (602) where the number 3 is overlaid on the tile (617), the electronic device (101) may decrease the number 3 overlaid on the tile (617) based on satisfying the removal condition of the tile (617) based on the removal of B tiles (611, 613, 614). Referring to FIG. 6A, within a state (603) following the state (602), the electronic device (101) may display the tile (617) with a reduced number (e.g., 2). With the B tiles (611, 613, 614) and the tiles (615, 616) including the arrows in the -y direction removed, the electronic device (101) can move tiles of other slots along the third reference direction. For example, the C tile (612) can be moved to the empty slot adjacent to the tile (617) along the third reference direction.

[0090] Referring to FIG. 6A, an embodiment is illustrated in which the electronic device (101) displays the number of times remaining to remove a tile (617) based on a number superimposed on the tile (617), but the embodiment is not limited thereto. For example, the electronic device (101) may change the color of the tile (617) or gradually increase and / or decrease the brightness and / or transparency to visualize a decrease in the number of times remaining to remove the tile (617). The electronic device (101) may change the shape and / or size of the tile (617) to visualize a decrease in the number of times remaining to remove the tile (617). For example, as the number of times remaining to remove the tile (617) decreases, the electronic device (101) may gradually reduce the size of the tile (617).

[0091] Although a tile (617) having a size corresponding to one slot is illustrated, the embodiment is not limited thereto. The electronic device (101) may display the tile (617) based on the sizes of the plurality of slots. The tile (617) may have a size corresponding to, for example, two tiles in the column direction and two tiles in the vertical direction. In one embodiment displaying a tile (617) having the above size, the electronic device (101) may determine a removal condition of the tile (617) based on identifying another tile to be removed at a location adjacent to the tile (617).

[0092] Referring to FIG. 6A, removing tiles including arrows pointing in the -y direction may be set as a goal for an area (120). Based on the goal, the electronic device (101) may display a visual object indicating the number of tiles including arrows pointing in the -y direction within the area (120) within the area (162) for displaying the goal within the panel (160). During the transition from state (602) to state (603), since tiles (615, 616) including arrows pointing in the -y direction are removed, the electronic device (101) may reduce the number displayed in the visual object by the number of tiles (615, 616). Based on the removal of B tiles (611, 613, 614), the electronic device (101) may increase the score displayed on the panel (150).

[0093] Referring to FIG. 6B , different states (604, 605, 606) of an electronic device (101) providing a stage of a puzzle game on a display (110) are illustrated. In one embodiment, the electronic device (101) may provide an area (120) on the display (110) that includes a visual object (640) associated with a goal. Referring to FIG. 6B , the electronic device (101) may display the visual object (640) in the form of a cage in which tiles and / or items are stored. Along with the visual object (640), the electronic device (101) may display an image (641) representing a reference direction associated with the visual object (640). In the exemplary state (604) of FIG. 6B , the electronic device (101) displays an image (641) representing a third reference direction, which is the -y direction, although the embodiment is not limited thereto. A visual object (640) may occupy multiple slots within an area (120). For example, the column and row lengths of the visual object (640) may correspond to the lengths of three consecutively positioned slots.

[0094] In one embodiment, the electronic device (101) may display a visual object (642) for describing the goal within an area (162) of the panel (160) while displaying a visual object (640) related to the goal. Within the state (604) of FIG. 6b, the electronic device (101) may display a visual object (642) including an image (e.g., an image in the shape of an egg) contained within a visual object (640) having the shape of a cage. Within the state (604) of FIG. 6b, the electronic device (101) may display a numerical value (e.g., “6”) within the area (162) indicating that a condition related to the visual object (640) must be satisfied six times. A condition associated with a visual object (640) may be satisfied by one or more tiles being removed from a portion of an area (120) adjacent to the visual object (640) while a third icon (133) corresponding to a third reference direction corresponding to the image (641) is selected.

[0095] Referring to FIG. 6B, in a state (601) in which a fourth icon (134) corresponding to a fourth reference direction is selected, the electronic device (101) can identify a drag gesture that starts from a point (P1) on a B tile (644) and moves toward a C tile above the B tile (644) along the +y direction (643). Based on the drag gesture, the electronic device (101) can identify a touch input indicating movement of the B tile (644). In response to the touch input, the electronic device (101) can swap the positions of the B tile (644) and the C tile along the direction of the +y axis. After the B tile (644) is moved along the direction of the +y axis, three B tiles (e.g., B tiles (646, 644, 645)) can be arranged consecutively along the row direction within the area (120). The electronic device (101) that has identified the B tiles (646, 644, 645) arranged in a row direction can remove the B tiles (646, 644, 645) within the area (120). The electronic device (101) can move the tiles that were positioned in other slots along the fourth reference direction to the empty slots where the removed B tiles (646, 644, 645) were arranged. For example, along the fourth reference direction, the C tile (647) next to the B tiles (646, 644, 645) can be moved to the empty slots where the B tiles (646, 644, 645) were arranged.

[0096] State (605) of FIG. 6B may correspond to a state after the empty slots where the removed B tiles (646, 644, 645) were placed have been filled by tiles moved from other slots. Although the B tiles (646, 644, 645) have been removed from a portion of the area (120) adjacent to the visual object (640), since a fourth reference direction different from the third reference direction indicated by the image (641) has been selected by the fourth icon (134), the electronic device (101) may determine that the condition related to the visual object (640) is not satisfied. Since the condition related to the visual object (640) is not satisfied, during the transition from state (604) to state (605), the electronic device (101) may maintain the numerical value (e.g., “6”) displayed within the area (162) of the panel (160).

[0097] Referring to FIG. 6B, within a state (605), according to one embodiment, the electronic device (101) can identify an input for changing a reference direction of the area (120) based on icons (130). Within the state (605) of FIG. 6B, based on an input indicating selection of a third icon (133), the electronic device (101) can switch the state of the third icon (133) to a first designated state. Based on the input, the electronic device (101) can control movement of at least one tile within the area (120) based on a third reference direction corresponding to the third icon (133).

[0098] Within the state (605) of FIG. 6B, according to one embodiment, the electronic device (101) can identify a drag gesture that is initiated from a point (P2) on a C tile (651) and moves along the -x direction (650). Based on the drag gesture, the electronic device (101) can identify a touch input indicating movement of the C tile (651). Based on the touch input, the electronic device (101) can change the positions of the C tile (651) and the B tile (655) along the -x direction. After the positions of the C tile (651) and the B tile (655) are changed, four C tiles (653, 651, 652, 654) can be arranged sequentially along the column direction within the region (120). An electronic device (101) that has identified C tiles (653, 651, 652, 654) arranged in a row along the heat direction can remove the C tiles (653, 651, 652, 654) within an area (120).

[0099] Referring to FIG. 6B, a state (606) after removing the C tiles (653, 651, 652, 654) is illustrated. Since the C tiles (653, 651, 652, 654) are removed within a portion (660) of the region (120) adjacent to the visual object (640) while the third reference direction corresponding to the image (641) is selected, the electronic device (101) may determine that a condition related to the visual object (640) is satisfied. The electronic device (101) that determines that the condition related to the visual object (640) is satisfied may decrease a numerical value within the region (162) (e.g., decrease from “6” to “5”). The electronic device (101) that determines that the condition is satisfied may increase a score displayed through the panel (150). An electronic device (101) that has removed C tiles (653, 651, 652, 654) located in a portion (660) of an area (120) can move another tile (e.g., B tile (661)) adjacent to the portion (660) along the third reference direction into the portion (660).

[0100] FIG. 7 illustrates an example of an operation of an electronic device (101) that displays a tile for triggering a specified action based on a reference direction. The electronic device (101) of FIGS. 1 and 2 and / or the processor (210) of FIG. 2 may perform the operation described with reference to FIG. 7.

[0101] Referring to FIG. 7, a state (701) of an electronic device (101) displaying a screen including an area (120) set by a puzzle game on a display (110) is illustrated. Along with the area (120) in which one or more tiles can be placed, the electronic device (101) can display icons (130) for adjusting the reference direction of the one or more tiles. The reference direction set by the icons (130) can be used to adjust the state of the tiles displayed in the area (120). The states of the icons (130) can be set or adjusted by a touch input to the icons (130) and / or map information corresponding to the area (120) (e.g., map information (252) of FIG. 2). Within the state (701) of FIG. 7, the electronic device (101) can change the state of the second icon (132) to a third designated state based on the map information.

[0102] Within the exemplary state (701) of FIG. 7, the electronic device (101) may display tiles (711, 712, 713) capable of performing a designated action based on a reference direction set by icons (130). The tiles (711, 712, 713) may be configured to perform a designated action based on a tile being removed from an adjacent slot. The designated action performed based on the tiles (711, 712, 713) may include an action of removing other tiles adjacent to the tiles (711, 712, 713) along the reference direction set by the icons (130). The tiles (711, 712, 713) may include an image and / or icon having a shape (e.g., a cannon) associated with the action. The electronic device (101) can identify the designated action assigned to the tiles (711, 712, 713) using map information for the area (120) (e.g., map information (252) of FIG. 2).

[0103] Referring to FIG. 7, a state (701) corresponding to a fourth reference direction (e.g., +x direction) of a fourth icon (134) is illustrated, which corresponds to a first designated state. The shapes of the tiles (711, 712, 713) may vary depending on the reference direction. For example, when the state of the first icon (131) corresponds to the first designated state, the electronic device (101) may display a tile (711) including a first image (711-1) in the area (120). When the state of the second icon (132) corresponds to the first designated state, the electronic device (101) may display a second image (711-2) having a shape of a cannon facing the second reference direction (-x direction) corresponding to the second icon (132). When the state of the third icon (133) corresponds to the first designated state, the electronic device (101) can display a third image (711-3) having the shape of a cannon facing the third reference direction (-y direction). When the fourth icon (134) corresponding to the fourth reference direction corresponds to the state (701) corresponding to the first designated state, the electronic device (101) can display tiles (711, 712, 713) using the fourth image (711-4) having the shape of a cannon facing the fourth reference direction.

[0104] In an exemplary state (701) of FIG. 7, the electronic device (101) can detect a drag gesture performed on a position (p1) on a B tile (715) and moving along a direction (714). Based on the drag gesture, the electronic device (101) can identify a touch input indicating a swap of the B tile (715) and the C tile (716). Based on the touch input, the electronic device (101) can swap the positions of the B tile (715) and the C tile (716) within the region (120). Based on the swapped positions, three B tiles including the B tile (715) can be arranged in a row along the column direction of the region (120). The electronic device (101) that identifies three B tiles arranged in a row along the column direction can remove the B tiles. Referring to state (701) of FIG. 7, based on the touch input, three B tiles including B tile (715) can be removed from positions adjacent to tiles (711, 712, 713).

[0105] In one embodiment, the electronic device (101) that identifies three B tiles to be removed at locations adjacent to tiles (711, 712, 713) may execute a designated action assigned to the tiles (711, 712, 713). Based on the execution of the designated action, the electronic device (101) may remove tiles located in a fourth reference direction from the tiles (711, 712, 713). For example, the electronic device (101) may remove all tiles (721) adjacent to tile (711) along the fourth reference direction. The electronic device (101) may remove all tiles (722) adjacent to tile (712) along the fourth reference direction. While removing all tiles (722), the electronic device (101) may play an animation (e.g., flames) extending from tile (712) toward the fourth reference direction. The electronic device (101) can remove tiles (723) adjacent to the tile (713) along the fourth reference direction. Although the operation of the electronic device (101) based on the exemplary state (701) in which the fourth reference direction corresponding to the fourth icon (134) is selected has been described, the embodiment is not limited thereto. If another icon is selected, the electronic device (101) can remove other tiles adjacent to the tiles (711, 712, 713) along the reference direction corresponding to the other icon.

[0106] Although an exemplary operation of the electronic device (101) is described in which a designated action assigned to tiles (711, 712, 713) is performed based on removing three tiles including a B tile (715), the embodiment is not limited thereto. For example, the electronic device (101) may perform the designated action in slots adjacent to tiles (711, 712, 713) when a removal condition is satisfied multiple times. In the example, as the removal condition is satisfied, the electronic device (101) may change the color of the tiles (711, 712, 713) and / or the number overlapping on the tiles (711, 712, 713).

[0107] FIG. 8 illustrates an example of the operation of an electronic device (101) that controls tiles based on a reference direction. The electronic device (101) of FIGS. 1 and 2 and / or the processor (210) of FIG. 2 can perform the operation described with reference to FIG. 8.

[0108] Referring to FIG. 8, exemplary states (801, 802) of an electronic device (101) displaying a screen provided from a puzzle game on a display (110) are illustrated. The electronic device (101) displaying an area (120) in which one or more tiles can be placed can display icons (130) for adjusting states of the one or more tiles. For example, the electronic device (101) can move one or more tiles along a reference direction (a third reference direction corresponding to the -y direction within the exemplary state (801) of FIG. 8) corresponding to a specific icon (a third icon (133) within the exemplary state (801) of FIG. 8) of a first designated state among the icons (130), or change the state of the one or more tiles.

[0109] Within the exemplary state (801) of FIG. 8, the electronic device (101) can display tiles (811, 812, 813, 814) having switchable patterns based on the reference direction set by the icons (130). The electronic device (101) can display the pattern assigned to the tiles (811, 812, 813, 814) when the reference direction corresponding to the tiles (811, 812, 813, 814) matches the reference direction corresponding to an icon of a first designated state among the icons (130). If the reference direction corresponding to the tiles (811, 812, 813, 814) is different from the reference direction corresponding to the icon of the first designated state among the icons (130), the electronic device (101) may display the reference direction corresponding to the tiles (811, 812, 813, 814) without displaying the pattern assigned to the tiles (811, 812, 813, 814).

[0110] Referring to FIG. 8, when a first icon (131) having a first reference direction corresponds to a first designated state, the electronic device (101) may display patterns assigned to tiles (811). In a state (801) in which a third icon (133) different from the first icon (131) corresponds to the first designated state, the electronic device (101) may not display the patterns assigned to tiles (811). In the state (801), the electronic device (101) may display arrows representing the first reference direction on the tiles (811). When a second icon (132) having a second reference direction corresponds to the first designated state, the electronic device (101) may display patterns assigned to tiles (812). When a fourth icon (134) having a fourth reference direction corresponds to the first designated state, the electronic device (101) may display patterns assigned to tiles (814). Within the state (801) corresponding to the first designated state of the third icon (133), the electronic device (101) may display arrows representing reference directions corresponding to each of the tiles (812, 814) instead of the patterns assigned to the tiles (812, 814).

[0111] Referring to FIG. 8, when the third icon (133) having the third reference direction corresponds to the first designated state, the electronic device (101) can display the patterns assigned to the tiles (813). In the state (801) of FIG. 8, since the third icon (133) corresponds to the first designated state, the electronic device (101) can display the patterns assigned to the tiles (813). In the state (801) of FIG. 8, the electronic device (101) that has identified an input indicating selection of the fourth icon (134) can switch from the state (801) to the state (802). In the state (802), the electronic device (101) can change the state of the fourth icon (134) to the first designated state based on the input. Based on the fourth icon (134) changed to the first designated state, the electronic device (101) can display patterns of tiles (814) corresponding to the fourth reference direction of the fourth icon (134). Based on the state of the fourth icon (134) being changed to the first designated state, the electronic device (101) can change the state of the third icon (133) to the second designated state. Based on the third icon (133) being changed to the second designated state, the electronic device (101) can display arrows representing the third reference direction, overlapping on the tiles (813), instead of the patterns assigned to the tiles (813).

[0112] Referring to FIG. 8, using map information corresponding to the area (120) (e.g., map information (252) of FIG. 2), the electronic device (101) can identify lines (L1, L2, L3, L4) on the boundary of the area (120) to which tiles are to be added. For example, when a first icon (131) corresponding to a first reference direction is in a first designated state, the electronic device (101) can add a tile to an empty slot adjacent to the line (L1). When a second icon (132) corresponding to a second reference direction is in a first designated state, the electronic device (101) can add a tile to an empty slot adjacent to the line (L2). When a third icon (133) corresponding to a third reference direction is in a first designated state, the electronic device (101) can add a tile to an empty slot adjacent to the line (L3). When the fourth icon (134) corresponding to the fourth reference direction is in the first designated state, the electronic device (101) can add a tile to an empty slot adjacent to the line (L4).

[0113] FIG. 9 illustrates an example of an operation of an electronic device (101) that moves a tile based on a reference direction identified by a user input. The electronic device (101) of FIGS. 1 and 2 and / or the processor (210) of FIG. 2 can perform the operation described with reference to FIG. 9.

[0114] Referring to FIG. 9, exemplary states (901, 902, 903) of an electronic device (101) that control movement of tiles based on a reference direction identified by icons (130) are illustrated. Within state (901), the electronic device (101) may display a plurality of tiles within an area (120). For example, the B tile and / or the C tile may be tiles that are movable by a touch input performed on the area (120). For example, tiles (911, 912, 913) that include an arrow pointing in the +x direction may be set to be moved when the reference direction of an icon corresponding to a first designated state among the icons (130) matches the direction of the arrow displayed on the tiles (911, 912, 913). Tiles (911, 912, 913) may have a removal condition that reaches the boundary line of the area (120) along the direction of the arrow indicated on the tiles (911, 912, 913), unlike the removal condition of B tiles to C tiles that are arranged consecutively in excess of a specified number.

[0115] Referring to FIG. 9, according to one embodiment, the electronic device (101) can identify a drag gesture performed at a location (p1) on a C tile and moving along a direction (914). Based on the drag gesture, the electronic device (101) can identify a touch input indicating an exchange of a C tile and a B tile. Based on the touch input, the electronic device (101) can exchange the locations of the C tile and the B tile within the region (120). Based on the exchange of the locations, the B tiles and the C tiles arranged in the slots (915) can be positioned consecutively along the column direction of the region (120). The electronic device (101) that identifies the consecutively positioned B tiles and the C tiles can remove the B tiles and the C tiles from the region (120).

[0116] Referring to FIG. 9, in the state (902) after removing the B tiles and the C tiles from the area (120), the slots (915) can be changed to empty slots. The electronic device (101) can determine whether to move the tiles (911, 912, 913) including arrows pointing in the +x direction based on the reference direction of the icon of the first designated state among the icons (130). For example, since a first reference direction (e.g., +y direction) corresponding to the first icon (131) is different from a fourth reference direction (e.g., +x direction) indicated by arrows included in tiles (911, 912, 913) within states (901, 902) corresponding to the first designated state, the electronic device may not move the tiles (911, 912, 913) within the states (901, 902), or may restrict the movement of the tiles (911, 912, 913).

[0117] For example, within the state (902) of FIG. 9, based on an input indicating selection of the fourth icon (134), the electronic device (101) can change the state of the fourth icon (134) to a first designated state. Referring to FIG. 9, based on the input, the electronic device (101) can switch from the state (902) to the state (903). Within the state (903), since the fourth reference direction of the fourth icon (134) changed to the first designated state matches the +x direction indicated on the tiles (911, 912, 913), the electronic device (101) can move the tiles (911, 912, 913) according to the fourth reference direction. For example, the electronic device (101) can move the tiles (911, 912, 913) to empty slots (e.g., slots (915)) located next to the tiles (911, 912, 913) along the fourth reference direction. While the tiles (911, 912, 913) are moved to the empty slots along the fourth reference direction, the electronic device (101) can fill the empty slots located next to the tiles (911, 912, 913) in a direction opposite to the fourth reference direction (e.g., -x direction) with tiles from other slots, or add new tiles.

[0118] FIG. 10 illustrates an example of the operation of an electronic device (101) that displays a visual object (1010) for controlling the movement of a tile. The electronic device (101) of FIGS. 1 and 2 and / or the processor (210) of FIG. 2 can perform the operation described with reference to FIG. 10.

[0119] Referring to FIG. 10, exemplary states (1001, 1002, 1003) are illustrated for controlling tiles and / or visual objects (1010) displayed in an area (120) according to a reference direction identified by icons (130). The states of the icons (130) may be controlled by map information corresponding to the area (120) (e.g., map information (252) of FIG. 2). For example, the state of the second icon (132) may correspond to a third designated state, and the first icon (131), the third icon (133), and the fourth icon (134) may correspond to any one of the first designated and / or second designated states. Within the state (1001), the electronic device (101) may display movable tiles within the area (120). The tiles may be arranged two-dimensionally based on slots within the area (120). The B tile and the C tile may be movable tiles by a touch input performed on the area (120). According to one embodiment, the electronic device (101) may change the positions of the movable tiles (e.g., the B tile and the C tile) within the area (120) along a reference direction identified based on the icons (130). For example, when the electronic device (101) identifies an empty slot within the area (120), it may move a tile located in another slot next to the empty slot along the reference direction to the empty slot.

[0120] Referring to FIG. 10 , according to one embodiment, an electronic device (101) may display a visual object (1010) for controlling movement of a tile along a reference direction within an area (120). Referring to FIG. 10 , exemplary states (1001, 1002, 1003) of an electronic device (101) displaying a visual object (1010) that can move along a column direction (the direction of the y-axis) of an area (120) are illustrated. The direction in which the visual object (1010) can move is not limited to the column direction of FIG. 10 . Depending on the reference direction selected by the icons (130), the electronic device (101) may move the visual object (1010). For example, within a state (1001) corresponding to a first reference direction and a first icon (131), the electronic device (101) can move a visual object (1010) along the first reference direction to a boundary line of an area (120). While displaying an area (120) including a visual object (1010) movable along a column direction, the electronic device (101) can change the position of the visual object (1010) within the area (120) based on an input indicating a selection of any one of the reference directions parallel to the column direction (e.g., the first reference direction and / or the third reference direction).

[0121] Within an exemplary state (1001) of FIG. 10, the electronic device (101) can switch from the state (1001) to the state (1002) based on an input indicating selection of a third icon (133) corresponding to a third reference direction. Within the state (1002), the electronic device (101) that has identified the input can change the state of the third icon (133) to a first designated state. According to the third reference direction (e.g., -y direction) corresponding to the third icon (133) changed to the first designated state, the electronic device (101) can move the visual object (1010). Referring to the state (1002) of FIG. 10, the electronic device (101) can move the visual object (1010) along the third reference direction to a boundary line of the region (120) (e.g., an edge of the region (120) with respect to the -y direction).

[0122] According to one embodiment, the electronic device (101) can change the position of a movable tile within the region (120) based on a reference direction and a visual object (1010) identified by icons (130). Within the state (1002) of FIG. 10, the electronic device (101) can switch from the state (1002) to the state (1003) in response to an input indicating selection of a fourth icon (134) corresponding to a fourth reference direction. Within the state (1003), the electronic device (101) that has identified the input can change the state of the fourth icon (134) to a first designated state. According to the fourth reference direction (e.g., +x direction) corresponding to the fourth icon (134) changed to the first designated state, the electronic device (101) can move the tiles within the region (120). For example, the electronic device (101) may move the movable B tile (1021) and C tile (1022) to empty slots next to the tiles along the fourth reference direction. The electronic device (101) may stop moving the B tile (1023) based on identifying a visual object (1010) positioned next to the B tile (1023) along the fourth reference direction. Within the state (1003) of FIG. 10, the B tile (1023) may be indicated as being stopped by the visual object (1010). Within the state (1003) of FIG. 10, in order to resume movement of the B tile (1023), moving the visual object (1010) may first be required.

[0123] Fig. 11 illustrates an example of an operation of an electronic device (101) for adjusting the states of icons (130) for adjusting a reference direction. The electronic device (101) of Figs. 1 and 2 and / or the processor (210) of Fig. 2 can perform the operation described with reference to Fig. 11.

[0124] Referring to FIG. 11, exemplary states (1101, 1102, 1103) of an electronic device (101) displaying an area (120) corresponding to map information (e.g., map information (252) of FIG. 2) are illustrated. According to one embodiment, the electronic device (101) may change states of icons (130) based on tiles (1130) displayed through the area (120). For example, based on the removal of tiles (1130), the electronic device (101) may change states of icons (130) from a third designated state to a second designated state (or a first designated state). In the example, the tiles (1130) may have an attribute that changes states of icons (130) from the third designated state to another state based on satisfying a removal condition. The attribute of the tiles (1130) may be set by map information. Within the exemplary state (1101) of FIG. 11, it is assumed that the removal condition of tiles (1130) is satisfied by the removal of tiles located in other slots adjacent to tiles (1130).

[0125] Within an exemplary state (1101) of FIG. 11, according to one embodiment, the electronic device (101) may change the positions of tiles within the area (120) based on a touch input on the area (120). For example, the electronic device (101) may identify a drag gesture that starts from a position (p1) on a B tile and moves along a direction (1110). Based on the drag gesture, the electronic device (101) may identify a touch input indicating a swap of a C tile adjacent to the B tile along the B tile and the direction (1110). The electronic device (101) that identifies the touch input within the state (1101) may switch to the state (1102).

[0126] Referring to FIG. 11, in an exemplary state (1101) displaying tiles (1130) within an area (120), the electronic device (101) may display icons (130) having a third designated state set by the tiles (1130). The electronic device (101) may display an image (e.g., an image in the form of a lock) superimposed on each of the icons (130) to guide that the third designated state of the icons (130) is set by the tiles (1130).

[0127] Within the state (1102) of FIG. 11, the electronic device (101) can swap positions of the B tiles and C tiles within the area (120) based on the touch input. Based on the swapping of the positions, three B tiles (1120) can be arranged in the column direction within the area (120). Within the state (1102) in which the three B tiles (1120) arranged in the column direction are identified, the electronic device (101) can remove the B tiles (1120) from the area (120). Based on the removal of the B tiles (1120) located in slots adjacent to the tiles (1130) for changing the states of the icons (130), the electronic device (101) can remove the tiles (1130). Based on the removal of the tiles (1130), the electronic device (101) can change the states of the icons (130) from a third designated state to another state different from the third designated state.

[0128] Referring to FIG. 11, in a state (1103) after the B tiles (1120) and the tiles (1130) are removed, the electronic device (101) can change the state of the icons (130) to a different state than the third designated state. Based on changing the state of the icons (130) from the third designated state, the electronic device (101) can remove images in the form of locks superimposed on the icons (130). Based on the removal of the images, the electronic device (101) can display images representing reference directions corresponding to each of the icons (130) on the icons (130). After the state (1103), the electronic device (101) can change a specific icon corresponding to the input to the first designated state based on an input indicating selection of the icons (130). Using the reference direction corresponding to the specific icon changed to the first designated state, the electronic device (101) can move one or more tiles within the area (120).

[0129] FIG. 12 illustrates an example of an operation of an electronic device (101) related to a target slot. The electronic device (101) and / or the processor (210) of FIGS. 1 and 2 can perform the operation described with reference to FIG. 12.

[0130] Referring to FIG. 12, exemplary states (1201, 1202) of an electronic device (101) displaying an area (120) corresponding to map information (e.g., map information (252) of FIG. 2) are illustrated. According to one embodiment, the electronic device (101) may display one or more target slots (1211, 1212) within the area (120) based on the map information. A target slot may be a slot set to trigger a function matched to the target slot based on a tile moved toward the target slot and / or the number of tiles moved toward the target slot. A target slot displayed in the area (120) may be used to achieve a goal assigned to the area (120). Within the exemplary state (1201) of FIG. 12, the electronic device (101) may display, within an area (162) displaying a goal, a visual object (1214) representing a target slot, along with a numerical value (e.g., “5”) representing the number of tiles that must be moved to the target slot to achieve the goal. Based on identifying a tile that is to be moved to the target slot, the electronic device (101) may decrement the numerical value.

[0131] In state (1201) of FIG. 12, according to an embodiment, the electronic device (101) may identify a drag gesture that is initiated from a location (p1) on a D tile (1213) and is dragged along a direction (1215). Based on the drag gesture, the electronic device (101) may move the D tile (1213) to a target slot (1211) located next to the D tile (1213) along the direction (1215). For example, the drag gesture may be a touch input for moving the D tile (1213) to the target slot (1211). Based on identifying the D tile (1213) moved to the target slot (1211), the electronic device (101) may remove the D tile (1213) located in the target slot (1211) and reduce a numerical value displayed in the area (162). The state (1202) of Fig. 12 may be a state after the D tile (1213) is removed and the numerical value is changed based on the touch input.

[0132] In one embodiment, the electronic device (101) may display a tile (1217) associated with the target slot (1211) based on the number of tiles that have been moved to the target slot (1211). Referring to FIG. 12, an exemplary state (1202) is illustrated in which the electronic device (101) displays the tile (1217) after a specified number of tiles have been moved to the target slot (1211). The tile (1217) may be a movable tile based on a touch input, such as a drag gesture. In one embodiment, the tile (1217) may be configured to execute a function for removing and / or moving other tiles based on a touch input, such as a tap gesture. In one embodiment, the condition for displaying the tile (1217) may be related to whether a specified number of tiles of a specified shape (e.g., D tile (1213)) have been moved to the target slot (1211).

[0133] FIG. 13 illustrates an example of the operation of an electronic device according to one embodiment. The electronic device (101) of FIGS. 1 and 2 and / or the processor (210) of FIG. 2 may perform the operations described with reference to FIG. 13.

[0134] Referring to FIG. 13, in operation (1310), according to one embodiment, a processor of an electronic device may display an area (e.g., area (120) of FIGS. 1 to 11) including slots in which tiles can be placed, together with icons for adjusting a reference direction for moving tiles (e.g., icons (130) of FIGS. 1 to 11). The processor may perform at least one of the operations of FIG. 13 based on the execution of the application (250) of FIG. 2. For example, the processor may display an area including one or more tiles using information for displaying the area (e.g., map information (252) of FIG. 2). The processor may display the area on a display of the electronic device (e.g., display (110) of FIGS. 1 to 11). The slots of operation (1310) may be arranged in a two-dimensional form within the area. The slots may be units capable of accommodating tiles.

[0135] Referring to FIG. 13, in operation (1320), according to an embodiment, a processor of an electronic device may display one or more tiles within an area. While displaying the one or more tiles, the processor may change positions of the one or more tiles based on a touch input on the display. The touch input may be identified based on sensor data of a touch sensor of the electronic device (e.g., touch sensor 232 of FIG. 2). For example, the electronic device may identify an input for replacing positions of tiles displayed within the area. If the positions of the tiles moved based on the input satisfy a removal condition set for the tile, the electronic device may remove the tile.

[0136] Referring to FIG. 13, in operation (1330), a processor of an electronic device according to an embodiment may identify an empty slot within a region. An empty slot may refer to a slot in which no tiles are placed within the region. Before identifying an empty slot within the region, or if no empty slot exists within the region (1330—No), the processor may perform operation (1320). If an empty slot is identified within the region (1330—Yes), the processor may perform operation (1340).

[0137] Referring to FIG. 13, in operation 1340, according to one embodiment, a processor of an electronic device may add and / or move a tile within an area based on a reference direction set by icons. For example, the processor may add or move a tile within an area based on a reference direction corresponding to an icon in a first designated state among the icons. The icon in the first designated state may be identified by a user input for the icons. Among the icons, icons different from the icon in the first designated state may correspond to another state different from the first designated state. The another state may include a second designated state that is convertible to the first designated state and / or a third designated state that is not convertible to the first designated state and the second designated state.

[0138] As described above, according to one embodiment, the electronic device can move one or more tiles based on slots arranged in a two-dimensional grid. The one or more tiles can be moved by icons corresponding to different reference directions (e.g., icons (130) of FIGS. 1 to 11). For example, tiles placed on slots can be dropped along one of the reference directions identified by the icons.

[0139] In one embodiment, a method for controlling a reference direction in which tiles move in a puzzle game may be required. Instructions included in a computer-readable storage medium as described above, when executed by a processor of an electronic device, may cause the processor to display an area formed on a display of the electronic device and including slots in which one or more tiles may be placed, together with icons corresponding to different reference directions for movement of tiles included in the area. The instructions, when executed by the processor, may cause the processor to display a tile corresponding to a first slot in which a tile is placed, overlapping the first slot in which the tile is placed, in a state in which a position of at least one tile displayed in the area can be adjusted based on a user input for the area. The instructions, when executed by the processor, may cause the processor to move the tile, which is displayed overlapping on the first slot, to the second slot based on identifying a second slot adjacent to the first slot along a reference direction indicated by an icon of a first designated state among the icons. The states of the icons may be configured to be adjusted among a first designated state for indicating a reference direction for moving the tile, a second designated state that is adjustable to the first designated state, and a third designated state for indicating that the tile cannot be moved along the reference direction corresponding to the icon.

[0140] For example, the instructions included in the computer-readable storage medium, when executed by a processor of the electronic device, may cause the processor to restrict movement of the tile from the first slot to the second slot when at least one image for guiding that movement of the tile is restricted is displayed as an overlay on the tile displayed in the first slot.

[0141] For example, the instructions contained in the computer-readable storage medium, when executed by the processor of the electronic device,

[0142] The processor may be caused to remove at least one image overlapping the tile based on identifying at least two other tiles disposed adjacent to the tile, having the pattern of the tile.

[0143] For example, the instructions included in the computer-readable storage medium, when executed by a processor of the electronic device, may cause the processor to remove the tile from the area if the direction indicated by the pattern of the tile matches the reference direction indicated by the icon of the first designated state.

[0144] For example, the electronic device may include a gyro sensor. The instructions included in the computer-readable storage medium, when executed by a processor of the electronic device, may cause the processor to identify an input indicating a selection of any one of the icons based on an axis or direction about which the electronic device is rotated, based on identifying a rotation of the electronic device based on the gyro sensor.

[0145] For example, the instructions included in the computer-readable storage medium, when executed by a processor of the electronic device, may cause the processor to move the tile from the first slot to the second slot if the direction indicated by the pattern of the tile matches the reference direction indicated by the icon of the first designated state, and to restrict the tile from moving from the first slot to the second slot if the direction indicated by the pattern of the tile is different from the reference direction indicated by the icon of the first designated state.

[0146] For example, the instructions included in the computer-readable storage medium, when executed by a processor of the electronic device, may cause the processor to remove the tile moved to the second slot within the area if the tile moved to the second slot satisfies a removal condition corresponding to the tile.

[0147] For example, the instructions included in the computer-readable storage medium, when executed by a processor of the electronic device, may cause the processor to remove the tile moved to the second slot based on the removal condition, and to execute an action supported by another tile located in a third slot adjacent to the second slot based on an attribute of the other tile.

[0148] For example, the instructions included in the computer-readable storage medium, when executed by a processor of the electronic device, may cause the processor to remove, from the area, at least one other tile adjacent to the other tile located in the third slot along the reference direction indicated by the icon of the first designated state, based on executing the action.

[0149] For example, the tile may be a first tile. For example, the instructions included in the computer-readable storage medium, when executed by the processor of the electronic device, may cause the processor to remove a third tile adjacent to the first tile within the area and different from the second tile to be removed by the removal condition, if the first tile moved to the second slot satisfies a removal condition corresponding to the first tile.

[0150] For example, the instructions included in the computer-readable storage medium, when executed by a processor of the electronic device, may cause the processor to display another tile including an image representing a first reference direction. For example, the instructions included in the computer-readable storage medium may cause the processor to change the image included in the other tile to another image represented by an attribute assigned to the other tile when the first reference direction is selected by the icon in the first designated state.

[0151] For example, the instructions included in the computer-readable storage medium, when executed by a processor of the electronic device, may cause the processor to move the tile along the reference direction based on identifying a match between the reference direction indicated by the icon of the first designated state and the direction represented by the image included in the tile.

[0152] For example, the instructions included in the computer-readable storage medium, when executed by a processor of the electronic device, may cause the processor to stop moving the tile from the first slot to the second slot within a state of displaying a visual object between the first slot and the second slot.

[0153] For example, the instructions included in the computer-readable storage medium, when executed by a processor of the electronic device, may cause the processor to move the visual object based on an input indicating a selection of an icon, from among the icons, indicating a reference direction parallel to the direction in which the visual object extends, within a state in which the visual object is displayed in a shape extending in a specified direction.

[0154] For example, the instructions included in the computer-readable storage medium, when executed by the processor of the electronic device, may cause the processor to switch, from among the icons, an icon in the third designated state from the third designated state to the second designated state if the tile moved to the second slot satisfies a removal condition assigned to the tile.

[0155] For example, the instructions included in the computer-readable storage medium, when executed by a processor of the electronic device, may cause the processor to move the tile to a third slot displayed in the area in response to an input for moving the tile to the third slot. The instructions included in the computer-readable storage medium may cause the processor to stop displaying the tile moved to the third slot and to display another tile in the third slot, based on an attribute of the third slot.

[0156] According to one embodiment of the present invention, an electronic device as described above may include a display and a processor. The processor may be configured to display an area formed on the display and including slots in which one or more tiles may be arranged, and icons corresponding to different reference directions for movement of tiles included in the area. The processor may be configured to display a tile corresponding to a first slot, in which a tile is arranged, in an overlapping manner on a first slot among the slots, in a state in which a position of at least one tile displayed in the area is adjustable based on a user input for the area. The processor may be configured to move the tile displayed in an overlapping manner on the first slot to the second slot based on identifying a second slot adjacent to the first slot along a reference direction indicated by an icon in a first designated state among the icons. The states of the above icons can be configured to be adjusted among the first designated state for indicating a reference direction for moving the tile, the second designated state adjustable to the first designated state, and the third designated state for indicating that the tile cannot be moved along the reference direction corresponding to the icon.

[0157] For example, the processor may be configured to restrict movement of the tile from the first slot to the second slot if at least one image for guiding movement of the tile is displayed as an overlay on the tile displayed in the first slot.

[0158] For example, the processor may be configured to remove the at least one image overlapping the tile based on identifying at least two other tiles disposed adjacent to the tile, the at least one image having the pattern of the tile.

[0159] For example, the processor may be configured to allow removal of the tile from the area if the direction indicated by the pattern of the tile matches a reference direction indicated by the icon of the first designated state.

[0160] For example, the electronic device may include a gyro sensor. The processor may be configured to identify an input indicating selection of any one of the icons based on an axis or direction about which the electronic device is rotated, based on identifying a rotation of the electronic device based on the gyro sensor.

[0161] For example, the processor may be configured to move the tile from the first slot to the second slot if the direction indicated by the pattern of the tile matches the reference direction indicated by the icon of the first designated state. The processor may be configured to restrict the tile from moving from the first slot to the second slot if the direction indicated by the pattern of the tile is different from the reference direction indicated by the icon of the first designated state.

[0162] For example, the processor may be configured to remove the tile moved to the second slot within the area if the tile moved to the second slot satisfies a removal condition corresponding to the tile.

[0163] For example, the processor may be configured to, when removing the tile moved to the second slot based on the removal condition, execute an action supported by another tile located in a third slot adjacent to the second slot based on an attribute of the other tile.

[0164] For example, the processor may be configured to remove, from the area, at least one other tile adjacent to the other tile located in the third slot along the reference direction indicated by the icon of the first designated state, based on executing the action.

[0165] According to one embodiment of the present invention, a method of an electronic device as described above may include an operation of displaying icons corresponding to different reference directions for movement of tiles included in an area formed on a display of the electronic device and including slots in which one or more tiles can be deployed. The method may include an operation of displaying a tile corresponding to a first slot, in which a tile is deployed, overlapping the tile, in a state in which a position of at least one tile displayed in the area is adjustable based on a user input for the area. The method may include an operation of moving the tile displayed overlapping the first slot to a second slot based on identifying a second slot adjacent to the first slot along a reference direction indicated by an icon in a first designated state among the icons. The states of the above icons can be configured to be adjusted among the first designated state for indicating a reference direction for moving the tile, the second designated state adjustable to the first designated state, and the third designated state for indicating that the tile cannot be moved along the reference direction corresponding to the icon.

[0166] For example, the moving action may further include an action of limiting the movement of the tile from the first slot to the second slot when at least one image for guiding that the mobility of the tile is limited is displayed as an overlay on the tile displayed in the first slot.
