Description

Pedicle screw assembly

[0001] The present invention relates to a pedicle screw assembly, and more particularly, to a pedicle screw assembly having a structure that can improve work speed and efficiency while minimizing the area of the invasive site.

[0002] Pedicle screws, or pedicle screws (hereinafter referred to as "pedicle screws"), are devices fixed to the spine. Pedicle screws are widely used to restore abnormally deformed vertebrae to their normal state. Specifically, after multiple pedicle screws are attached to a pedicle, a rod or similar device is inserted into the attached pedicle screws to apply external force, thereby restoring the spine to its normal state.

[0003] Pedicle screws penetrate the skin and muscles covering the spine to access the spine. Therefore, inserting a pedicle screw into the spine requires invasive surgery, i.e., making an incision at the surgical site.

[0004] However, as the size of the invasive area increases, the surgical difficulty increases and the patient's pain may increase. Furthermore, if the invasive area increases excessively, the risk of secondary bacterial infections also increases.

[0005] Furthermore, the tasks of pulling the load, delivering the screws to secure the load, and securing the delivered screws are typically performed by separate devices. This requires the repeated insertion and withdrawal of different devices into and out of the invasive site, potentially increasing the size of the invasive site and reducing the speed and efficiency of the operation.

[0006] Korean Patent Document No. 10-1497898 discloses a spinal rod coupling device. Specifically, the device discloses a spinal rod coupling device including a body including an insertion groove into which one end of a spinal rod is inserted in a first direction and a guide groove through which a portion of the spinal rod is guided to rotate in a second direction intersecting the first direction, a fixing member provided on the body, and a pressing member for pressing the fixing member.

[0007] However, the spinal rod coupling device disclosed in the above-mentioned prior art document only provides a method for coupling the spinal rod. In other words, the above-mentioned prior art document does not provide a method for easily and effectively coupling not only the spinal rod but also the pedicle screws for maintaining the spinal rod in the spine.

[0008] Korean Patent No. 10-0942226 discloses a rod holder and a minimally invasive pedicle surgery system utilizing the same. Specifically, the rod holder is configured to operate in a two-stage loading manner, allowing for easy rod placement, and the pedicle minimally invasive surgery system utilizing the same is disclosed.

[0009] However, the rod holder disclosed in the above-mentioned prior art and the minimally invasive pedicle surgery system utilizing the same presuppose that the pedicle screw has already been attached to the spine. In other words, the above-mentioned prior art also fails to provide a method for easily and effectively attaching not only the rod but also the pedicle screw.

[0063] In the following description, descriptions of some components may be omitted to clarify the features of the present invention.

[0064]

[0065] The term "fluid communication" as used herein refers to one or more elements being fluidly connected to one another. In one embodiment, the fluid communication may be formed by elements such as conduits, pipes, or piping. In the following description, the fluid communication may be used in the same sense as one or more elements being "fluidly connected" to one another.

[0066] The terms “upper side,” “lower side,” “left side,” “right side,” “front side,” and “rear side” used in the following description shall be understood with reference to the coordinate system depicted throughout the attached drawings.

[0067]

[0068] Referring to FIGS. 1 and 2, a pedicle screw assembly (10) according to an embodiment of the present invention is illustrated. The pedicle screw assembly (10) according to an embodiment of the present invention can be coupled to a pedicle. A separately provided rod is coupled to the pedicle screw assembly (10) coupled to the pedicle, thereby allowing an external force to be applied to the pedicle.

[0069] For this purpose, a plurality of pedicle screw assemblies (10) may be provided. The plurality of pedicle screw assemblies (10) may be coupled to the pedicle at different locations. The load may be coupled to each of the plurality of pedicle screw assemblies (10) to apply an external force to the pedicle.

[0070] The following description assumes that the pedicle screw assembly (10) is coupled to the pedicle of a human body. Alternatively, the pedicle screw assembly (10) according to an embodiment of the present invention may be provided as any device that is inserted into the human body and coupled to a bone.

[0071] A pedicle screw assembly (10) according to an embodiment of the present invention may be formed to have a length in one direction, in the front-back direction in the illustrated embodiment. The pedicle screw assembly (10) may be inserted into a human body along its length, so that one side in the length direction, in the illustrated embodiment, the front side, may be coupled to the pedicle.

[0072] In particular, the pedicle screw assembly (10) according to an embodiment of the present invention is configured to perform the process of coupling an insertion screw (100) directly coupled to a pedicle and a rod (R) supported by the insertion screw (100) through a single device. Therefore, the above process can be performed without the process of withdrawing the pedicle screw assembly (10) inserted into the invasive site.

[0073] Accordingly, even when a minimally invasive site is formed, the connection and support of the insertion screw (100) and the rod (R) can be performed. Furthermore, even when the formed invasive site is not expanded, the above process can be performed by the pre-inserted pedicle screw assembly (10), thereby improving the work speed and efficiency.

[0074] Furthermore, as will be described later, some components of the pedicle screw assembly (10) may be formed to be movably coupled to each other, while preventing arbitrary separation. Accordingly, a surgical procedure using the pedicle screw assembly (10) can be performed stably.

[0075] In the illustrated embodiment, the pedicle screw assembly (10) includes an insertion screw (100), an anchor member (200), a compression nut member (300), an extension member (400), a first operating member (500), and a second operating member (600).

[0076] The insertion screw (100) is a part where the pedicle screw assembly (10) is directly connected to the pedicle. The insertion screw (100) can be fixedly connected to the pedicle. At this time, the insertion screw (100) may be provided in a form that is fixedly connected to the pedicle by an external force, but can be separated from the pedicle by an external force. In one embodiment, the insertion screw (100) may be provided in the form of a screw member.

[0077] The insertion screw (100) constitutes one longitudinal end of the pedicle screw assembly (10). In the illustrated embodiment, the insertion screw (100) constitutes the anterior end of the pedicle screw assembly (10). The pedicle screw assembly (10) can be moved anteriorly to be introduced into the human body and moved posteriorly to be withdrawn from the human body.

[0078] The insertion screw (100) supports the rod (R). Specifically, the insertion screw (100) supports the rod (R) on one longitudinal side of the pedicle screw assembly (10), the front side in the illustrated embodiment. The rod (R) can be pressed and supported against the insertion screw (100) by a compression nut member (300) to be described later.

[0079] An insertion screw (100) is coupled with an anchor member (200). The insertion screw (100) can be rotatably coupled to the anchor member (200). A portion of the insertion screw (100), in the illustrated embodiment, a rear-side portion, can be rotatably coupled to an insertion screw coupling portion (220) formed inside the anchor member (200).

[0080] At this time, the insertion screw (100) can be coupled with the anchor member (200) in a manner that movement in the longitudinal direction, i.e., in the forward and backward direction in the illustrated embodiment, is impossible. Accordingly, the insertion screw (100) can stably support the load (R) coupled with the anchor member (200).

[0081] The insertion screw (100) can be rotated by the second operating member (600). The insertion screw (100) can receive a nut coupling portion (630) of the second operating member (600) in a retractable manner. As will be described later, the nut coupling portion (630) can have a shape corresponding to the shape of the inner circumferential surface surrounding the insertion screw opening (131) formed in the insertion screw (100).

[0082] In the embodiment shown in FIGS. 3 and 4, the insertion screw (100) includes an insertion screw body (110), an insertion screw thread (120), an insertion screw head (130), and an insertion screw hollow (140).

[0083] The insertion screw body (110) constitutes a portion of the outer shape of the insertion screw (100). The insertion screw body (110) is a portion where the insertion screw (100) is coupled to the pedicle. The insertion screw body (110) can be at least partially inserted and coupled to the pedicle.

[0084] The insertion screw body (110) may have any shape that can be inserted into the pedicle. In the illustrated embodiment, the insertion screw body (110) has a length in the anteroposterior direction, but is formed such that its cross-sectional area decreases in the direction from the posterior side to the anterior side. In one embodiment, the insertion screw body (110) may have a cone or truncated cone shape in which the cross-sectional area of the anterior side is formed smaller than that of the posterior side.

[0085] The insertion screw body (110) is coupled with an insertion screw thread (120). The insertion screw thread (120) is formed along the outer circumference of the insertion screw body (110).

[0086] The insertion screw body (110) is coupled with the insertion screw head (130). One longitudinal side of the insertion screw body (110), the rear side in the illustrated embodiment, is coupled with the insertion screw head (130). An insertion screw hollow (140) is formed inside the insertion screw body (110).

[0087] The insertion screw thread (120) maintains the insertion screw (100) in a state of being engaged with the pedicle. The insertion screw thread (120) extends along the outer circumference of the insertion screw body (110). The insertion screw thread (120) may extend in a helical shape along the outer circumference of the insertion screw body (110).

[0088] As the insertion screw thread (120) is formed, the insertion screw (100) can be screw fit with the pedicle.

[0089] The insertion screw head (130) constitutes another part of the outer shape of the insertion screw (100). The insertion screw head (130) is the part where the insertion screw (100) is coupled with the anchor member (200). In addition, the insertion screw head (130) supports the rod (R).

[0090] The insertion screw head (130) is received in the insertion screw joint (220) of the anchor member (200) and supported by the anchor body (210). At this time, the insertion screw head (130) can be received in the insertion screw joint (220) so as to be rotatably received. In one embodiment, the insertion screw head (130) can be received in the insertion screw joint (220) so as to be rotatably received about the longitudinal direction of the insertion screw body (110) as an axis.

[0091] The insertion screw head (130) is continuous with the insertion screw body (110). In the illustrated embodiment, the insertion screw head (130) is continuous with one longitudinal side of the insertion screw body (110), i.e., the rear end.

[0092] The insertion screw head (130) can receive a nut coupling portion (630) of the second operating member (600) in a retractable manner. The insertion screw head (130) and the insertion screw body (110) coupled thereto can be rotated by a rotational force applied by the second operating member (600).

[0093] In the illustrated embodiment, the insertion screw head (130) includes an insertion screw opening (131).

[0094] The insertion screw opening (131) is a space where the insertion screw head (130) receives the nut coupling portion (630). The insertion screw opening (131) is recessed into one side of the insertion screw head (130) in the height direction, i.e., the rear end in the illustrated embodiment. The insertion screw opening (131) communicates with the insertion screw hollow (140) formed penetrating the interior of the insertion screw body (110).

[0095] The insertion screw opening (131) may have any shape that can accommodate the nut coupling portion (630). At this time, the inner periphery of the insertion screw head (130) surrounding the insertion screw opening (131) may be formed with a shape, such as a protrusion, for coupling with the nut coupling portion (630). Accordingly, the insertion screw head (130) and the insertion screw body (110) coupled thereto may be rotated by the rotational force applied by the second operating member (600).

[0096] The insertion screw hollow (140) is a space formed inside the insertion screw body (110). The insertion screw hollow (140) extends in the longitudinal direction of the insertion screw body (110), in the front-back direction in the illustrated embodiment. One longitudinal end of the insertion screw hollow (140), in the illustrated embodiment, the front end, is open and communicates with the outside. The other longitudinal end of the insertion screw hollow (140), in the illustrated embodiment, the rear end, is open and communicates with the insertion screw opening (131).

[0097] The insertion screw hollow (140) can form a space for accommodating materials, etc. separated from the pedicle when the insertion screw (100) is coupled to the pedicle. Accordingly, pedicle fragments, etc. that may be generated when the insertion screw (100) is coupled can be prevented from being randomly scattered inside the human body.

[0098] The anchor member (200) rotatably supports the insertion screw (100). In addition, the anchor member (200) accommodates a load (R) and is coupled with a compression nut member (300). The load (R) can be supported by the insertion screw (100) and the compression nut member (300) while being accommodated in the anchor member (200).

[0099] The anchor member (200) is coupled to the extension member (400). The insertion screw (100) coupled to the anchor member (200) can be coupled to the pedicle by a second operating member (600) that moves along the extension member (400). The compression nut member (300) coupled to the anchor member (200) can be moved to pressurize the rod (R) by the second operating member (600) that moves along the extension member (400).

[0100] At this time, the anchor member (200) can be detachably coupled to the extension member (400). When the fixing work of the insertion screw (100) and the rod (R) is completed, the anchor member (200) can be separated from the extension member (400) and remain within the human body. In the above state, it will be understood that the insertion screw (100), the rod (R), and the compression nut member (300) are coupled to the anchor member (200).

[0101] In the embodiment illustrated in FIGS. 3 and 4, the anchor member (200) includes an anchor body (210), an insertion screw coupling portion (220), a load receiving portion (230), an anchor screw thread (240), and an extension member coupling portion (250).

[0102] The anchor body (210) constitutes the outer shape of the anchor member (200). Other components of the anchor member (200) are combined or formed in the anchor body (210). In the illustrated embodiment, the anchor body (210) is formed with an insertion screw coupling portion (220), a load receiving portion (230), an anchor screw thread (240), and an extension member coupling portion (250).

[0103] The anchor body (210) may have any shape that can be combined with the insertion screw (100), the compression nut member (300), and the extension member (400). In addition, the anchor body (210) may have any shape that can accommodate the load (R). In the illustrated embodiment, the anchor body (210) has a ring-shaped cross-section with a hollow space formed therein and a three-dimensional shape having a length in the front-back direction.

[0104] The anchor body (210) partially accommodates the insertion screw (100). Specifically, the anchor body (210) rotatably accommodates the insertion screw head (130). The anchor body (210) accommodates a rod (R). The rod (R) accommodated in the anchor body (210) can be supported by the insertion screw head (130) and the compression nut member (300).

[0105] The anchor body (210) can be coupled with and accommodate the compression nut member (300). At this time, the degree to which the anchor body (210) accommodates the compression nut member (300) can be changed by the rotation of the second operating member (600).

[0106] The anchor body (210) is coupled to the extension member (400). The anchor body (210) can be coupled to the extension member (400) by partially covering one longitudinal side of the extension member (400), the front end in the illustrated embodiment.

[0107] The space formed inside the anchor body (210) can be divided into an insertion screw joint (220) and a load receiving portion (230).

[0108] The insertion screw joint (220) rotatably accommodates the insertion screw head (130). The insertion screw joint (220) is defined as a space surrounded by a portion of the inner circumference of the anchor body (210). In the illustrated embodiment, the insertion screw joint (220) is defined as a space surrounded by one side of the longitudinal direction of the anchor body (210), i.e., the inner circumference on the front side.

[0109] The insertion screw joint (220) may have a shape corresponding to the shape of the insertion screw head (130). In the illustrated embodiment, the insertion screw joint (220) is formed as a space having an outer shape of a convex curved surface corresponding to the shape of the insertion screw head (130) formed in a sphere shape.

[0110] Each longitudinal side of the insertion screw joint (220), the front side and the rear side in the illustrated embodiment, are formed open. The insertion screw body (110) can be exposed to the outside of the anchor member (200) through the front side of the insertion screw joint (220). The other longitudinal side of the insertion screw joint (220), the rear side in the illustrated embodiment, is in communication with the load receiving portion (230).

[0111] The load receiving portion (230) is a space that receives a load (R). The load receiving portion (230) movably receives the load (R). The load receiving portion (230) is defined as a space surrounded by another portion of the inner circumference of the anchor body (210). In the illustrated embodiment, the load receiving portion (230) is defined as a space surrounded by the inner circumference on the other side in the longitudinal direction of the anchor body (210), i.e., the rear side.

[0112] At this time, the other side in the longitudinal direction of the anchor body (210) may include a portion that is formed to be at least partially open. That is, as illustrated in FIG. 3, the upper and lower sides of the rear of the anchor body (210) are formed to be open. The rod (R) can penetrate into the rod receiving portion (230) through the portion. The rod receiving portion (230) is connected to the outside through the portion.

[0113] The load receiving portion (230) may have a shape corresponding to the shape of the load (R). As will be described later, the load (R) has a circular cross-section and is formed to extend in the vertical direction, and the load receiving portion (230) may be formed to be convex toward the front side, corresponding to the outer peripheral shape of the load (R).

[0114] Each side in the longitudinal direction of the load receiving portion (230), the front side and the rear side in the illustrated embodiment, are formed as open. One side in the longitudinal direction of the load receiving portion (230), the front side in the illustrated embodiment, is in communication with the insertion screw coupling portion (220). The other side in the longitudinal direction of the load receiving portion (230), the rear side in the illustrated embodiment, is formed as open and is in communication with the outside. The compression nut member (300) and the second operating member (600) can be introduced into the load receiving portion (230) through the other side.

[0115] The anchor screw thread (240) is a portion of the anchor member (200) that movably supports the compression nut member (300). The anchor screw thread (240) is screw-connected to the compression nut member (300). The compression nut member (300), while connected to the anchor screw thread (240), can move in a direction toward or against the insertion screw head (130), or in the forward or rearward direction in the illustrated embodiment.

[0116] As will be described later, the movement can be achieved by rotating the second operating member (600) coupled to the compression nut member (300).

[0117] The anchor screw thread (240) is formed on the inner periphery of the anchor body (210). Specifically, the anchor screw thread (240) is formed on the inner periphery of one side of the portion of the anchor body (210) surrounding the load receiving portion (230), i.e., the rear side in the illustrated embodiment. As described above, the upper and lower sides of the rear of the anchor body (210) are formed open, so it will be understood that the anchor screw thread (240) can be formed on the left and right inner peripheries of the anchor body (210).

[0118] The anchor screw thread (240) can be formed to have a length in the longitudinal direction of the anchor body (210), i.e., a length in the front-rear direction in the illustrated embodiment. The compression nut member (300) can be moved in the load receiving portion (230) by the length of the anchor screw thread (240).

[0119] The extension member connecting portion (250) is a portion where the anchor member (200) is connected to the extension member (400). The extension member connecting portion (250) is located on one side of the length direction of the anchor body (210), in the illustrated embodiment, on the rear side.

[0120] The extension member coupling portion (250) is coupled with an anchor member coupling protrusion (440) provided on the extension member (400). The extension member coupling portion (250) can accommodate the anchor member coupling protrusion (440). In one embodiment, the extension member coupling portion (250) can accommodate the anchor member coupling protrusion (440) in a retractable manner. In the above embodiment, the anchor member coupling protrusion (440) can be configured to be pulled out from the extension member coupling portion (250) only when a predetermined external force is applied from the outside.

[0121] The extension member coupling portion (250) may have any shape that can be coupled with the anchor member coupling protrusion (440). In one embodiment, the extension member coupling portion (250) may be formed penetratingly through the surface of the anchor body (210) surrounding the load receiving portion (230). In the illustrated embodiment, a pair of extension member coupling portions (250) are provided and are formed penetratingly through the left and right surfaces of the rear of the anchor body (210). The extension member coupling portion (250) connects the load receiving portion (230) to the outside along the width direction.

[0122] The number, shape, and arrangement of the extension member connecting portions (250) can be changed in accordance with the number, shape, and arrangement of the anchor member connecting protrusions (440). In the illustrated embodiment, the extension member connecting portion (250) is formed as a space in the shape of a disk having a circular cross-section and a thickness in the left-right direction.

[0123] The compression nut member (300) presses the load (R) toward the insertion screw (100). The compression nut member (300) is movably coupled to the anchor member (200) so as to press the load (R) received in the load receiving portion (230) toward the insertion screw head (130). In other words, the compression nut member (300) supports the load (R) together with the insertion screw head (130).

[0124] The compression nut member (300) is coupled with the anchor member (200). Specifically, the compression nut member (300) is received in the load receiving portion (230) and is screw-coupled with the anchor screw thread (240).

[0125] The compression nut member (300) can be moved by the second operating member (600). Specifically, the compression nut member (300) can be moved along the anchor screw thread (240) toward the load (R) or in the direction opposite to the load (R) by rotation of the second operating member (600).

[0126] In the embodiment shown in FIGS. 5 and 6, the compression nut member (300) includes a compression nut body (310), a compression nut thread (320), a compression nut pressing projection (330), and a compression nut hollow (340).

[0127] The compression nut body (310) constitutes the outer shape of the compression nut member (300). The compression nut body (310) is a portion where the compression nut member (300) is supported by being coupled to the anchor member (200). Another configuration of the compression nut member (300) is formed in the compression nut body (310). In the illustrated embodiment, the compression nut body (310) is formed with a compression nut thread (320), a compression nut pressing protrusion (330), and a compression nut hollow (340).

[0128] The compression nut body (310) may have a shape corresponding to the shape of the anchor member (200). Specifically, the compression nut body (310) may have a shape corresponding to the shape of the load receiving portion (230). In the illustrated embodiment, the compression nut body (310) has a cylindrical shape with a circular cross-section and a height in the front-rear direction.

[0129] A compression nut thread (320) is formed on the outer periphery of the compression nut body (310).

[0130] The compression nut thread (320) is a portion where the compression nut member (300) is screw-connected with the anchor thread (240). The compression nut thread (320) extends along the outer circumference of the compression nut body (310). In one embodiment, the compression nut thread (320) may extend in a spiral shape. When the compression nut member (300) is rotated while the compression nut thread (320) is connected with the anchor thread (240), the compression nut member (300) may move toward or against the load (R).

[0131] The compression nut pressurizing protrusion (330) is a portion of the compression nut member (300) that pressurizes the load (R). The compression nut pressurizing protrusion (330) is located on one side facing the load (R), that is, on the front side in the illustrated embodiment.

[0132] The compression nut pressurizing protrusion (330) is continuous with the compression nut body (310). The compression nut pressurizing protrusion (330) protrudes outward from one longitudinal side of the compression nut body (310), i.e., the front end in the illustrated embodiment. The compression nut pressurizing protrusion (330) may have any shape that can stably support the load (R). In the illustrated embodiment, the compression nut pressurizing protrusion (330) is formed to be rounded so that one side facing the load (R), i.e., the front end, is convex.

[0133] The compression nut hollow (340) is a portion where the compression nut member (300) is coupled with the second operating member (600). The compression nut hollow (340) retractably accommodates the nut coupling portion (630).

[0134] The compression nut hollow (340) is formed on the other side of the compression nut body (310) in the longitudinal direction, i.e., the rear side in the illustrated embodiment. In other words, the compression nut hollow (340) is positioned opposite the compression nut pressing projection (330).

[0135] The compression nut hollow (340) may have a shape corresponding to the shape of the nut coupling portion (630). In the illustrated embodiment, the compression nut hollow (340) is formed as a three-dimensional space having a circular cross-section and extending in the front-back direction. One longitudinal side of the compression nut hollow (340), the front side in the illustrated embodiment, is closed. The other longitudinal side of the compression nut hollow (340), the rear side in the illustrated embodiment, is formed open so that a passage can be formed for the nut coupling portion (630) to be introduced and withdrawn.

[0136] At this time, the inner circumference of the compression nut body (310) surrounding the compression nut hollow body (340) may have a shape corresponding to the outer circumference of the nut coupling portion (630). Accordingly, the nut coupling portion (630) inserted into the compression nut hollow body (340) can rotate the compression nut member (300) without spinning.

[0137] The extension member (400) is coupled with the anchor member (200) to form a path along which the insertion screw (100), the compression nut member (300), the first operating member (500), and the second operating member (600) move. With the extension member (400) provided, the pedicle screw assembly (10) according to the embodiment of the present invention can perform the processes of coupling the insertion screw (100), transmitting the compression nut member (300), and supporting the rod (R) using the compression nut member (300) and the insertion screw (100) by a single mechanism.

[0138] In one embodiment, the extension member (400) may be positioned so as to be at least partially exposed to the outside of the human body. In the embodiment, the insertion screw (100), the compression nut member (300), the first operating member (500), and the second operating member (600) may be easily inserted and withdrawn.

[0139] The extension member (400) movably accommodates an insertion screw (100). The insertion screw (100) can move along the interior of the extension member (400) and be engaged with the anchor member (200).

[0140] The extension member (400) is coupled with the anchor member (200). The insertion screw (100), the compression nut member (300), the first operating member (500), and the second operating member (600) can be moved along the extension member (400) to the anchor member (200).

[0141] The extension member (400) movably accommodates the compression nut member (300). The compression nut member (300) can move along the interior of the extension member (400) and be engaged with the anchor member (200).

[0142] The extension member (400) is coupled with the first operating member (500). At this time, the extension member (400) can support the first operating member (500) so as to be movable in the longitudinal direction. Such coupling can be achieved by screw-coupling the first operating member (500) with the extension member (400), which will be described in detail later.

[0143] The extension member (400) is coupled to the second operating member (600). Specifically, the extension member (400) is coupled to the second operating member (600) via the first operating member (500). The extension member (400) movably supports the second operating member (600).

[0144] In the embodiments illustrated in FIGS. 7 to 10, the extension member (400) includes an extension body (410), an extension hollow (420), an anchor member receiving portion (430), an anchor member engaging protrusion (440), an operating member engaging portion (450), and an extension screw thread (460).

[0145] The extension body (410) constitutes a portion of the outer shape of the extension member (400). The extension body (410) movably supports the insertion screw (100), the compression nut member (300), the first operating member (500), and the second operating member (600). The extension body (410) is formed to extend in the movement direction of the above components, i.e., in the front-back direction in the illustrated embodiment.

[0146] Another configuration of the extension member (400) is formed or joined to the extension body (410). In the illustrated embodiment, the extension body (410) is formed with an extension hollow (420), an anchor member receiving portion (430), an anchor member engaging protrusion (440), an operating member engaging portion (450), and an extended screw thread (460).

[0147] The extension body (410) may be formed at least partially open. In the illustrated embodiment, both outer circumferential sides of the extension body (410), in the illustrated embodiment the left and right sides, may be closed, while the other outer circumferential sides of the extension body (410), in the illustrated embodiment the upper and lower sides, may be formed open.

[0148] An extended hollow (420) is formed inside the extended body (410).

[0149] The extension hollow (420) constitutes a passage through which the insertion screw (100), the compression nut member (300), the first operating member (500), and the second operating member (600) move. The extension hollow (420) can be defined as a space formed inside the extension body (410).

[0150] The extension hollow (420) extends in the longitudinal direction of the extension body (410), in the front-back direction in the illustrated embodiment. Each end of the longitudinal direction of the extension hollow (420), in the illustrated embodiment, the front-side end and the rear-side end, are each formed open to communicate with the outside.

[0151] At this time, one longitudinal side of the extended hollow (420), the front end in the illustrated embodiment, is connected to the anchor member receiving portion (430). The other longitudinal side of the extended hollow (420), the rear end in the illustrated embodiment, is connected to the operating member connecting portion (450).

[0152] The extension hollow (420) may be partially surrounded by the extension body (410). In the illustrated embodiment, the width direction of the extension hollow (420), i.e., the left and right sides, are defined by being surrounded by the extension body (410).

[0153] The anchor member receiving portion (430) is a portion where the extension member (400) is coupled to the anchor member (200). The anchor member receiving portion (430) receives one longitudinal side of the anchor body (210), the rear side in the illustrated embodiment. The one side of the anchor body (210) may be partially surrounded by the extension body (410).

[0154] The anchor member receiving portion (430) is located on one side of the longitudinal direction of the extended body (410), in the illustrated embodiment, at the front end. In other words, the anchor member receiving portion (430) is located on one side facing the anchor member (200).

[0155] The anchor member receiving portion (430) is defined by being partially surrounded by the one side, i.e., the front end, of the extended body (410). In the illustrated embodiment, the anchor member receiving portion (430) is surrounded by the front end of the extended body (410) in the width direction, i.e., the left and right sides. The anchor member receiving portion (430) is formed open in the height direction, i.e., the upper and lower sides.

[0156] One side of the anchor member receiving portion (430), the rear side in the illustrated embodiment, communicates with the extended hollow (420). The other side of the anchor member receiving portion (430), the front side in the illustrated embodiment, communicates with the rod receiving portion (230). As described above, the rod receiving portion (230) communicates with the insertion screw coupling portion (220).

[0157] Accordingly, the insertion screw (100) can be moved sequentially through the extension hollow (420) and the anchor member receiving portion (430) to the insertion screw coupling portion (220). In the same context, the compression nut member (300) can be moved sequentially through the extension hollow (420) and the anchor member receiving portion (430) to the load receiving portion (230).

[0158] An anchor member coupling protrusion (440) can be positioned in the anchor member receiving portion (430).

[0159] The anchor member coupling protrusion (440) is a portion where the extension member (400) is coupled to the anchor member (200). The anchor member coupling protrusion (440) can be inserted and coupled into the extension member coupling portion (250).

[0160] The anchor member engaging protrusion (440) is engaged with the extended body (410). In one embodiment, the anchor member engaging protrusion (440) can be engaged with the extended body (410) so as to be movable in the width direction of the extended body (410), in the left-right direction in the illustrated embodiment.

[0161] The anchor member engaging protrusion (440) is at least partially positioned in the anchor member receiving portion (430). The anchor member engaging protrusion (440) is positioned so as to be exposed in the anchor member receiving portion (430) so as to be insertable into the extension member engaging portion (250) of the anchor member (200) received in the anchor member receiving portion (430).

[0162] The anchor member coupling protrusion (440) may have any shape that can be easily inserted into the extension member coupling portion (250) while preventing arbitrary withdrawal. In the illustrated embodiment, the anchor member coupling protrusion (440) is formed so that the area of its cross section increases in the direction opposite to the anchor member (200), i.e., from the front side toward the rear side. The anchor member coupling protrusion (440) is formed to have an inclined surface so that it protrudes toward the anchor member receiving portion (430), and its protrusion length becomes longer toward the rear side.

[0163] In the above embodiment, when the anchor member (200) is moved in the direction in which it is inserted into the anchor member receiving portion (430), the anchor member engaging protrusion (440) can be easily inserted into the extension member engaging portion (250). In addition, when the anchor member engaging protrusion (440) is inserted into the extension member engaging portion (250), the movement of the anchor member (200) in the direction in which it is pulled out from the anchor member receiving portion (430) can be restricted.

[0164] A plurality of anchor member coupling protrusions (440) may be provided. The plurality of anchor member coupling protrusions (440) are spaced apart from each other and can be respectively coupled with the plurality of extension member coupling portions (250). In the illustrated embodiment, a pair of anchor member coupling protrusions (440) are provided and spaced apart in the width direction of the extension body (410), i.e., in the left-right direction in the illustrated embodiment.

[0165] The shape, number, and arrangement of the anchor member joining projections (440) may be changed depending on the shape, number, and arrangement of the extension member joining portion (250).

[0166] The operating member coupling portion (450) is a portion where the extension member (400) is coupled to the first operating member (500) and the second operating member (600). As described above, the second operating member (600) is movably coupled to the first operating member (500), and thus the operating member coupling portion (450) can be said to be a portion where the extension member (400) movably supports the first operating member (500) and the second operating member (600).

[0167] The operating member coupling portion (450) is located on the other side of the longitudinal direction of the extended body (410), i.e., the rear end in the illustrated embodiment. In other words, the operating member coupling portion (450) is located on the other side opposite to the anchor member (200), or on the other side facing the first and second operating members (500, 600).

[0168] The operating member coupling portion (450) is defined by being partially surrounded by the other side, i.e., the rear end, of the extended body (410). In the illustrated embodiment, the operating member coupling portion (450) is surrounded by the rear end of the extended body (410) in the width direction, i.e., the left and right sides. The operating member coupling portion (450) is formed open in the height direction, i.e., the upper and lower sides.

[0169] One side of the operating member coupling portion (450), in the illustrated embodiment the rear side, is formed open. The first operating member (500) and the second operating member (600) can enter the operating member coupling portion (450) through the one side. Similarly, it will be appreciated that the insertion screw (100) and the compression nut member (300) can also enter the operating member coupling portion (450) through the one side.

[0170] The other side of the operating member coupling portion (450), the front side in the illustrated embodiment, is formed open and communicates with the extended hollow portion (420). The above-described components, i.e., the insertion screw (100), the compression nut member (300), the first operating member (500), and the second operating member (600), can pass through the operating member coupling portion (450) and move into the extended hollow portion (420).

[0171] An extension screw thread (460) may be positioned on the operating member coupling portion (450).

[0172] The extension screw thread (460) is a portion where the extension member (400) is coupled with the first operating member (500). The extension screw thread (460) can be screw-coupled with the operating screw thread (540) provided on the first operating member (500). Accordingly, the first operating member (500) can be rotated relative to the extension member (400) and moved along the longitudinal direction of the extension member (400).

[0173] The extension screw thread (460) is formed on the inner surface of the extension body (410). Specifically, the extension screw thread (460) is formed on the inner surface of the extension body (410) surrounding the operating member connecting portion (450), i.e., on the left and right inner surfaces at the rear in the illustrated embodiment.

[0174] The extension screw thread (460) can extend a predetermined length along the longitudinal direction of the extension body (410). It will be understood that the length of the extension screw thread (460) is equal to the distance that the first operating member (500) can move along the longitudinal direction of the extension body (410).

[0175] A first operating member (500) and a second operating member (600) are movably coupled to the extension member (400). The first operating member (500) and the second operating member (600) receive a force to operate another component of the pedicle screw assembly (10) to couple or support the pedicle. The first operating member (500) and the second operating member (600) can be moved or rotated by the applied force to transmit the operating force to the other component.

[0176] The first operating member (500) can move the rod (R) coupled with the anchor member (200) by a predetermined distance. As will be described later, the process of moving the rod (R) is performed after the insertion screw (100) is coupled to the pedicle. Therefore, it can be said that the first operating member (500) pulls the rod (R) in the direction toward the insertion screw (100).

[0177] The first operating member (500) is coupled with the extension member (400). Specifically, the first operating member (500) is screw-coupled with the extension screw thread (460) and is partially received in the operating member coupling portion (450). The first operating member (500) can be moved along the extension hollow (420) to the load receiving portion (230).

[0178] The first operating member (500) is coupled to the second operating member (600). The first operating member (500) accommodates the second operating member (600) so as to be movable in the longitudinal direction. The second operating member (600) can be movable in the longitudinal direction while being coupled to the first operating member (500).

[0179] In the embodiments illustrated in FIGS. 11 to 17, the first operating member (500) includes a first operating body (510), a first operating tail (520), a load pressing member (530), an operating screw thread (540), and an operating hollow (550).

[0180] The first manipulation body (510) constitutes a portion of the outer shape of the first manipulation member (500). The first manipulation body (510) is coupled with or supports other components of the first manipulation member (500). In the illustrated embodiment, the first manipulation body (510) is coupled with the first manipulation tail (520) and the load pressing member (530). An manipulation screw thread (540) is formed on the outer periphery of the first manipulation body (510), and an manipulation hollow (550) is formed on the interior of the first manipulation body (510).

[0181] The first operating body (510) may extend in the longitudinal direction of the extension body (410), in the front-back direction in the illustrated embodiment. The extension direction of the first operating body (510) may be the same as the extension direction of the second operating body (610).

[0182] The first operating body (510) can be moved in the longitudinal direction of the extended hollow (420), i.e., in the forward and backward direction in the illustrated embodiment, while being accommodated in the extended hollow (420). At this time, as described above, the first operating body (510) can be moved in the forward and backward direction while being rotated.

[0183] The first manipulation body (510) accommodated in the extension hollow (420) can be movably and rotatably supported by the extension body (410). At this time, the outer diameter of the cross-section of the first manipulation body (510) can be formed to be less than or equal to the diameter of the cross-section of the extension hollow (420).

[0184] The first manipulation body (510) is coupled with the first manipulation tail (520). One longitudinal side of the first manipulation body (510), the rear side in the illustrated embodiment, is coupled with the first manipulation tail (520).

[0185] The first operating body (510) is coupled to the load pressing member (530). The other longitudinal side of the first operating body (510), in the illustrated embodiment, the front side, is coupled to the load pressing member (530). In one embodiment, the first operating body (510) can be removably coupled to the load pressing member (530).

[0186] A manipulation screw thread (540) is formed on a portion of the outer circumference of the first manipulation body (510). In the illustrated embodiment, the manipulation screw thread (540) is formed adjacent to one side in the longitudinal direction of the first manipulation body (510), i.e., the rear side.

[0187] A manipulation cavity (550) is formed inside the first manipulation body (510). The manipulation cavity (550) extends in the longitudinal direction of the first manipulation body (510), in the front-back direction in the illustrated embodiment.

[0188] In the illustrated embodiment, the first operating body (510) includes a pressure member coupling portion (511).

[0189] The pressure member coupling portion (511) is a portion where the first operating body (510) is coupled to the load pressure member (530). The pressure member coupling portion (511) is located at one end of the longitudinal direction of the first operating body (510), in the illustrated embodiment, at the front end.

[0190] The pressure member coupling portion (511) can be accommodated in the pressure hollow portion (533) provided in the load pressure member (530). The pressure member coupling portion (511) can be supported by the inner circumference of the pressure body (531) surrounding the pressure hollow portion (533).

[0191] The pressure member coupling portion (511) may be provided in any shape that can be coupled with the load pressure member (530). In the illustrated embodiment, the pressure member coupling portion (511) has a length in the front-back direction and is a curved shape that extends along the outer periphery of the first operating body (510). At this time, a protrusion (511a) that protrudes outward is formed at one end of the extension direction of the pressure member coupling portion (511), that is, at the front side in the illustrated embodiment.

[0192] In the above embodiment, the pressurizing member connecting portion (511) is provided in the form of a hook, is pressed inward to be deformed in shape, is received in the pressurizing hollow (533), and then, when the pressurizing state is released, is restored in shape toward the outside and can be connected to the pressurizing body (531).

[0193] A plurality of pressure member coupling parts (511) may be provided. The plurality of pressure member coupling parts (511) may be accommodated in the pressure hollow (533) at different locations to support the pressure body (531). In the illustrated embodiment, a pair of pressure member coupling parts (511) are provided and are spaced apart from each other in the left-right direction.

[0194] The first manipulation tail (520) is the portion of the first manipulation member (500) that is manipulated by an external force. The first manipulation tail (520) may be positioned so as to be exposed to the outside of the invasive site. An operator or any device may grasp the first manipulation tail (520) and apply an external force. In one embodiment, a rotational force may be applied to the first manipulation tail (520), thereby causing the first manipulation member (500) to rotate and move.

[0195] The first manipulation tail (520) is coupled with the first manipulation body (510). The first manipulation tail (520) is positioned on the other side of the first manipulation body (510) in the longitudinal direction, i.e., the rear side in the illustrated embodiment. In other words, the first manipulation tail (520) is positioned opposite the pressure member coupling portion (511).

[0196] The first manipulation tail (520) may have any shape that can receive rotational force from the outside. In the illustrated embodiment, the first manipulation tail (520) has a polygonal cross-section and a polygonal prism shape with a length in the front-back direction.

[0197] At this time, the diameter of the cross-section of the first manipulation tail (520) may be formed to be larger than the diameter of the cross-section of the manipulation member coupling portion (450). Accordingly, the first manipulation member (500) may be moved toward the anchor member (200) only until the front end of the first manipulation tail (520) comes into contact with the rear end of the extension body (410).

[0198] In the illustrated embodiment, the first manipulation tail (520) includes a manipulation body receiving portion (521) and a washer member receiving portion (522).

[0199] The manipulation body receiving portion (521) constitutes a space formed inside the first manipulation tail (520). The manipulation body receiving portion (521) extends in the longitudinal direction of the first manipulation tail (520), in the front-back direction in the illustrated embodiment. One longitudinal side of the manipulation body receiving portion (521), in the illustrated embodiment, the front side, is in communication with the manipulation hollow (550). The other longitudinal side of the manipulation body receiving portion (521), in the illustrated embodiment, the rear side, is in communication with the washer member receiving portion (522).

[0200] The operating body receiving portion (521) movably receives the second operating member (600). Specifically, the operating body receiving portion (521) can movably receive the second operating member (600) in its longitudinal direction, in the illustrated embodiment, in the forward and backward direction.

[0201] The manipulation body receiving portion (521) may have any shape that can movably receive the second manipulation member (600). In the illustrated embodiment, the manipulation body receiving portion (521) is formed as a cylindrical space having a circular cross-section and a length in the front-back direction.

[0202] The washer member receiving portion (522) constitutes another space formed inside the first operating tail (520). The washer member receiving portion (522) is formed to have a thickness in the longitudinal direction of the first operating tail (520), i.e., in the front-back direction. One side in the thickness direction of the washer member receiving portion (522), the front side in the illustrated embodiment, is connected to the operating body receiving portion (521). The other side in the thickness direction of the washer member receiving portion (522), the rear side in the illustrated embodiment, is formed open and connected to the outside.

[0203] The washer member receiving portion (522) receives a washer member (640) provided on the second operating member (600). The washer member (640) received in the washer member receiving portion (522) presses the second operating body (610) radially inward, thereby preventing arbitrary movement of the second operating body (610) without application of external force.

[0204] The load pressurizing member (530) is configured to pressurize the load (R) received in the load receiving portion (230) by the first operating member (500). The load pressurizing member (530) can pressurize the load (R) by rotating and moving with the first operating body (510). That is, it can be said that the load pressurizing member (530) substantially performs the role of pulling the load (R).

[0205] The load pressure member (530) is coupled with the first operating body (510). Specifically, the load pressure member (530) may be coupled with the pressure member coupling portion (511). In one embodiment, the load pressure member (530) may be detachably coupled with the pressure member coupling portion (511). In the above embodiment, the load pressure member (530) and the pressure member coupling portion (511) are hook-coupled, so that they may not be arbitrarily separated without the application of an external force.

[0206] The load pressure member (530) can be moved in the load receiving portion (230) and the extension hollow portion (420). The load pressure member (530) can be rotated or moved together with the first operating body (510) to move in a direction toward or against the load (R) received in the load receiving portion (230).

[0207] In the illustrated embodiment, the load pressurizing member (530) includes a pressurizing body (531), a pressurizing arm (532), a pressurizing hollow (533), and a separation space (534).

[0208] The pressurizing body (531) constitutes the body of the load pressurizing member (530). The pressurizing body (531) is a portion where the load pressurizing member (530) is coupled to the first operating body (510). The pressurizing body (531) may be coupled to other components of the load pressurizing member (530), or other components may be formed. In the illustrated embodiment, the pressurizing body (531) is coupled to the pressurizing arm (532), and a pressurizing hollow (533) is formed.

[0209] The pressurizing body (531) is coupled with the pressurizing member coupling portion (511). The pressurizing body (531) surrounds the pressurizing member coupling portion (511) radially outwardly and can be coupled with the pressurizing member coupling portion (511). In one embodiment, as described above, the pressurizing body (531) can be hook-coupled with the pressurizing member coupling portion (511).

[0210] The pressurizing body (531) may have a shape corresponding to the shape of the first operating body (510). In the illustrated embodiment, the pressurizing body (531) has an annular cross-section with a pressurizing hollow (533) formed therein, and is a three-dimensional shape having a length in the front-back direction.

[0211] The outer periphery of the pressurizing body (531) is connected to the pressurizing arm (532).

[0212] The pressurizing arm (532) is a portion of the load pressurizing member (530) that pressurizes the load (R). The pressurizing arm (532) extends toward the load (R) accommodated in the load receiving portion (230). In the illustrated embodiment, the pressurizing arm (532) extends in the longitudinal direction of the first operating body (510), i.e., in the front-rear direction.

[0213] One end of the pressurizing arm (532) in the extension direction, the front end in the illustrated embodiment, presses the rod (R). The other end of the pressurizing arm (532) in the extension direction, the rear end in the illustrated embodiment, is coupled to the outer periphery of the pressurizing body (531). The pressurizing arm (532) is formed to protrude in the direction toward the rod (R), the front end in the illustrated embodiment, compared to the pressurizing body (531).

[0214] The pressurizing arm (532) may be provided in any shape capable of pressurizing the load (R). In the illustrated embodiment, the pressurizing arm (532) is provided in the shape of a plate having a length in the front-back direction, a width in the left-right direction, and a thickness in the up-down direction.

[0215] At this time, a load receiving groove (532a) is formed recessed in the one side of the extension direction of the pressure arm (532), i.e., the front end. The load receiving groove (532a) is formed to be convex toward the direction opposite to the load (R), i.e., toward the rear side in the illustrated embodiment.

[0216] Accordingly, the outer surface of the load (R) accommodated in the load receiving groove (532a) can be stably supported by the inner surface of the pressure arm (532) surrounding the load receiving groove (532a).

[0217] A plurality of pressurizing arms (532) may be provided. The plurality of pressurizing arms (532) may be positioned at different locations, and may pressurize the load (R) respectively. In the illustrated embodiment, a pair of pressurizing arms (532) are provided and are spaced apart in the height direction of the load pressurizing member (530), i.e., in the vertical direction. The space formed between the pair of pressurizing arms (532) may be defined as a spaced apart space (534).

[0218] The pressurized hollow (533) is a space formed inside the pressurized body (531). The pressurized hollow (533) accommodates the pressurized member coupling portion (511). As described above, the pressurized member coupling portion (511) can be elastically deformed and accommodated in the pressurized hollow (533), thereby elastically supporting the pressurized body (531). In the above embodiment, as described above, the pressurized member coupling portion (511) can be elastically coupled with the pressurized body (531).

[0219] The pressurized hollow (533) may have a shape corresponding to the shape of the pressurized body (531). In the illustrated embodiment, the pressurized hollow (533) is formed as a three-dimensional space having a circular cross-section and a length in the front-back direction. Each side of the pressurized hollow (533) in the longitudinal direction is formed open to communicate with the outside.

[0220] Accordingly, the pressurized hollow (533) can accommodate a pressurized member coupling portion (511). In addition, the second operating member (600) coupled with the first operating member (500) can penetrate the pressurized hollow (533) and move to the insertion screw (100) or the compression nut member (300).

[0221] A separation space (534) may be defined as a space between a pair of pressurized arms (532). The separation space (534) is defined by being surrounded by a pair of pressurized arms (532). The separation space (534) extends in the longitudinal direction of the pressurized arms (532), in the front-back direction in the illustrated embodiment. One longitudinal side of the separation space (534), in the illustrated embodiment, the front side, is formed open and communicates with the load receiving portion (230). The other longitudinal side of the separation space (534), in the illustrated embodiment, the rear side, is formed open and communicates with the pressurized hollow (533).

[0222] That is, the separation space (534) constitutes a work space that movably accommodates the second operating member (600).

[0223] The operating screw thread (540) is a portion where the first operating member (500) is screw-connected to the extension member (400). The operating screw thread (540) is formed on a portion of the outer circumference of the first operating body (510). The operating screw thread (540) extends in a spiral shape along the outer circumference of the first operating body (510).

[0224] In the illustrated embodiment, the operating screw thread (540) is located on one side of the longitudinal direction of the first operating body (510), i.e., on the rear side. At this time, the operating screw thread (540) may be located on the front side compared to the first operating tail (520). Accordingly, the first operating tail (520) may be located on the outside of the extension hollow (420), and the operating screw thread (540) may be screw-connected with the extension screw thread (460).

[0225] The operating screw thread (540) can extend a predetermined length along the longitudinal direction of the first operating body (510), i.e., the front-back direction. The length of the operating screw thread (540) can be formed to correspond to the length of the extension screw thread (460). As described above, the movement distance of the first operating member (500) can be determined depending on the length of the operating screw thread (540) or the extension screw thread (460).

[0226] The manipulation cavity (550) is a space formed inside the first manipulation body (510). The manipulation cavity (550) movably accommodates the second manipulation member (600). The manipulation cavity (550) is defined by being surrounded by the inner circumference of the first manipulation body (510).

[0227] The operating cavity (550) extends in the extension direction of the first operating body (510), in the forward and backward direction in the illustrated embodiment. One longitudinal side of the operating cavity (550), in the illustrated embodiment, the front side, is open and communicates with the pressurized cavity (533) and the separation space (534), respectively. The other longitudinal side of the operating cavity (550), in the illustrated embodiment, the rear side, is open and communicates with the operating body receiving portion (521).

[0228] The manipulation cavity (550) may have a shape corresponding to the shape of the second manipulation member (600). In the illustrated embodiment, the manipulation cavity (550) is formed as a cylindrical space having a circular cross-section and a length in the front-back direction.

[0229] The second operating member (600) can be moved in a direction toward the insertion screw (100) and engaged with the insertion screw (100). The second operating member (600) can apply a rotational force to secure the insertion screw (100) to the pedicle.

[0230] The second operating member (600) can be coupled with the compression nut member (300). The second operating member (600) can apply a rotational force to move the compression nut member (300) to pressurize the load (R).

[0231] Therefore, it can be said that the second operating member (600) performs the role of a driver.

[0232] The second operating member (600) is movably coupled to the first operating member (500). The second operating member (600) is movably received in the operating cavity (550), so that its radial direction can be supported by the first operating body (510). The second operating member (600) can be moved in the longitudinal direction of the first operating member (500), i.e., in the forward and backward direction in the illustrated embodiment.

[0233] In the embodiments illustrated in FIGS. 11 to 12 and 18 to 19, the second operating member (600) includes a second operating body (610), a second operating tail (620), a nut coupling portion (630), and a washer member (640).

[0234] The second operating body (610) constitutes a portion of the outer shape of the second operating member (600). The second operating body (610) is coupled to or supports other components of the second operating member (600). In the illustrated embodiment, the second operating body (610) is coupled to the second operating tail (620), the nut coupling portion (630), and the washer member (640).

[0235] The second manipulation body (610) may extend in the longitudinal direction of the first manipulation body (510), in the front-back direction in the illustrated embodiment. As described above, the second manipulation body (610) extends in the same direction as the first manipulation body (510).

[0236] The second manipulation body (610) is movably accommodated in the manipulation cavity (550). The second manipulation body (610) can be moved in its longitudinal direction, in the illustrated embodiment, in the forward and backward direction. In this case, the second manipulation body (610) can be moved in the longitudinal direction without a separate rotation. The second manipulation body (610) can be movably supported by the inner circumference of the first manipulation body (510).

[0237] The second operating body (610) may have a shape corresponding to the shape of the operating hollow (550). In the illustrated embodiment, the second operating body (610) is formed to have a circular cross-section and a length in the front-rear direction. Since the second operating body (610) is formed in a cylindrical shape, the nut coupling portion (630) can rotate smoothly while being coupled with the insertion screw (100) or the compression nut member (300).

[0238] At this time, the diameter of the cross-section of the second operating body (610) can be formed to be less than or equal to the diameter of the cross-section of the operating hollow (550).

[0239] The second manipulation body (610) is coupled with the second manipulation tail (620). One longitudinal side of the second manipulation body (610), the rear side in the illustrated embodiment, is coupled with the second manipulation tail (620).

[0240] The second operating body (610) is coupled with the nut coupling portion (630). The other longitudinal side of the second operating body (610), the front side in the illustrated embodiment, is coupled with the nut coupling portion (630).

[0241] The second operating body (610) is coupled to the washer member (640). The second operating body (610) is penetrably coupled to the washer member (640). The second operating body (610) is pressed radially inward by the washer member (640), and thus cannot be moved or rotated arbitrarily in the operating cavity (550).

[0242] The second manipulation tail (620) is a portion of the second manipulation member (600) that is manipulated by an external force. The second manipulation tail (620) may be positioned so as to be exposed to the outside of the invasive site. An operator or any device may grip the second manipulation tail (620) and apply an external force. In one embodiment, a linear external force for longitudinal movement or a rotational force for rotating the insertion screw (100) or the compression nut member (300) may be applied to the second manipulation tail (620).

[0243] The second manipulation tail (620) is coupled with the second manipulation body (610). The second manipulation tail (620) is positioned on one longitudinal side of the second manipulation body (610), in the illustrated embodiment, on the rear side. In other words, the second manipulation tail (620) is positioned opposite the nut coupling portion (630).

[0244] The second manipulation tail (620) may have any shape that can receive an external force in a linear direction or a rotational force from the outside. In the illustrated embodiment, the second manipulation tail (620) has a polygonal prism shape with a polygonal cross-section and a length in the front-back direction.

[0245] At this time, the diameter of the cross-section of the second manipulation tail (620) can be formed to be larger than the diameter of the cross-section of the manipulation hollow (550). Accordingly, the second manipulation member (600) can be moved toward the insertion screw (100) or the compression nut member (300) only until the front end of the second manipulation tail (620) comes into contact with the rear end of the first manipulation body (510).

[0246] The nut joint (630) is a portion where the second operating member (600) is joined to the insertion screw (100) or the compression nut member (300). The nut joint (630) can be accommodated in the insertion screw opening (131) or the compression nut hollow (340).

[0247] At this time, as described above, a shape corresponding to the shape of the nut joint (630) can be formed on the inner surface of the insertion screw head (130) surrounding the insertion screw opening (131) in the radial direction and on the inner surface of the compression nut body (310) surrounding the compression nut hollow (340) in the radial direction.

[0248] The nut coupling portion (630) is coupled with the second operating body (610). The nut coupling portion (630) can move and rotate with the second operating body (610). The nut coupling portion (630) is located on the other side of the second operating body (610) in the longitudinal direction, that is, on the front side in the illustrated embodiment. The nut coupling portion (630) is located opposite the second operating tail (620).

[0249] The nut coupling portion (630) may have any shape capable of applying a rotational force to the insertion screw (100) or the compression nut member (300). In one embodiment, the nut coupling portion (630) is formed with a cylindrical body and six protrusions that protrude radially outward from the outer periphery of the body and are spaced apart along the outer periphery.

[0250] The washer member (640) is configured to prevent arbitrary rotation or movement of the second operating member (600) coupled with the first operating member (500). The washer member (640) is coupled to surround the second operating body (610) and is accommodated in the washer member receiving portion (522).

[0251] At this time, the washer member (640) accommodated in the washer member accommodation portion (522) can press the second operating body (610) radially inward. Accordingly, arbitrary movement of the second operating body (610) can be prevented.

[0252] To this end, the diameter of the cross-section of the washer member (640) may be formed to be less than or equal to the diameter of the cross-section of the washer member receiving portion (522). That is, the washer member (640) may be pressed radially inward to be deformed and may be received in the washer member receiving portion (522).

[0253] The washer member (640) may be provided in any shape that can prevent arbitrary rotation or movement of the second operating body (610) by changing its shape. In one embodiment, the washer member (640) may be provided in the shape of a spring washer.

[0254]

[0255] Referring to FIGS. 20 to 25, a process in which an insertion screw (100) is coupled to a pedicle by a pedicle screw assembly (10) according to an embodiment of the present invention, a rod (R) is pulled, a compression nut member (300) is moved, and the rod (R) is supported by the insertion screw (100) and the compression nut member (300) is illustrated as an example.

[0256] As described above, the pedicle screw assembly (10) according to the embodiment of the present invention can perform the above processes, i.e., installation of the insertion screw (100), traction of the rod (R), movement of the compression nut member (300), and support of the rod (R), by a single device.

[0257] First, referring to FIGS. 20 and 21, the process of attaching an insertion screw (100) to a pedicle is illustrated as an example. In the above state, it will be understood that the rod (R) has not yet been inserted into the rod receiving portion (230).

[0258] Before the above state is formed, a process may be performed in which the first operating member (500) and the second operating member (600) are withdrawn from the extension hollow (420), the insertion screw (100) is received in the extension hollow (420), and then the first operating member (500) and the second operating member (600) are reinserted into the extension hollow (420).

[0259] The insertion screw (100) moves along the extension hollow (420), passes through the load receiving portion (230), and enters the insertion screw engaging portion (220). This movement can be achieved by moving the second operating member (600) in which the nut engaging portion (630) is accommodated in the insertion screw opening (131). At this time, the insertion screw head (130) is positioned in the insertion screw engaging portion (220), and the insertion screw body (110) is exposed to the outside of the anchor member (200).

[0260] The second operating member (600) coupled with the extension member (400) (i.e., via the first operating member (500)) is moved toward the insertion screw (100) so that the nut coupling portion (630) is inserted into the insertion screw opening (131). When the second operating tail (620) is rotated, the nut coupling portion (630) and the insertion screw (100) coupled thereto are rotated. Accordingly, the insertion screw (100) can be coupled to the pedicle.

[0261] Referring to FIGS. 22 and 23, a process in which a load (R) is pulled by a first operating member (500) is illustrated as an example. Before the above state is formed, a process in which the load (R) penetrates the load receiving portion (230) may precede. The load (R) penetrated through the load receiving portion (230) is positioned apart from the insertion screw head (130).

[0262] In the above state, when the second operating member (600) is moved to be opposite to the insertion screw (100) and the first operating tail (520) is rotated, the first operating body (510) and the load pressing member (530) coupled thereto are rotated and moved toward the load (R). As the rotation and movement of the load pressing member (530) progress, the load pressing member (530) comes into contact with the load (R) so that the load (R) can be moved toward the insertion screw (100).

[0263] Accordingly, the load (R) can be towed to a preset position.

[0264] Referring to FIGS. 24 and 25, a process in which a compression nut member (300) is moved and a load (R) is supported by an insertion screw (100) and a compression nut member (300) is illustrated as an example.

[0265] Before the above state is formed, a process may be performed in which the first operating member (500) and the second operating member (600) are withdrawn from the extended hollow (420), the compression nut member (300) is received in the extended hollow (420), and then the first operating member (500) and the second operating member (600) are reinserted into the extended hollow (420).

[0266] The second operating member (600) coupled with the extension member (400) (i.e., via the first operating member (500)) moves toward the compression nut member (300) so that the nut engaging portion (630) is inserted into the compression nut hollow (340). When the second operating tail (620) is rotated, the compression nut thread (320) is screw-engaged with the anchor thread (240), so that the compression nut member (300) rotates and moves toward the load (R).

[0267] As the above process progresses, one side of the outer circumference of the rod (R) can be supported by the insertion screw head (130), and the other side of the rod (R) can be supported by the compression nut member (300).
