[0028] Hereinafter, various embodiments of this document are described with reference to the attached drawings.

[0029] The present invention, described below, provides a hinge structure and a foldable electronic device including the hinge structure, which can improve a rail gap between a rail and a rail structure, an assembly deviation between a rail and a rail structure, and / or a driving deviation between a rail and a rail structure. The present invention can bring a rail and a rail structure, which are assembled based on an axis involved in the rotation of at least one of an arm member and a rotation member, into close contact through a support member.

[0030] In addition, the present document provides a hinge structure and a foldable electronic device including the hinge structure capable of compensating for a deviation between a rail and a rail structure related to the rotation of an arm member and a deviation between a rail and a rail structure related to the rotation of a rotation member by forming the direction of a force applied through a support member to a rail and a rail structure assembled based on an axis involved in the rotation of an arm member and the direction of a force applied through a support member to a rail and a rail structure assembled based on an axis involved in the rotation of a rotation member to be staggered.

[0031] In addition, the present document provides a hinge structure and a foldable electronic device including the same, in which the back surface of each of the female member and the rotating member is formed through a groove, so that the support member can stably and widely support each of the female member and the rotating member while reducing friction with each of the female member and the rotating member.

[0032] Other desired purposes according to embodiments of the present invention will be mentioned as needed in the process of describing each embodiment.

[0033] The hinge structure of the present invention and the foldable electronic device including the hinge structure support folding the foldable electronic device into a parallel gap.

[0034] Additionally, the hinge structure and the foldable electronic device including the hinge structure can eliminate (or reduce) folding flow by maintaining a constant gap between the rails and the rail structure.

[0035] In addition, various purposes and effects provided by hinge structures and electronic devices including the same according to various embodiments may be mentioned according to embodiments of the detailed description.

[0036] Figure 1 is an exploded perspective view of an electronic device according to one embodiment.

[0037] Referring to FIG. 1, an electronic device (100) (or a foldable electronic device, a portable electronic device, a portable communication device, a foldable electronic device, a portable device) according to an embodiment may include a first housing (110), a second housing (120), a hinge housing (150), a center bar (170) (or a barrate), wing plates (131, 132) (or plates), a display (160), and at least one hinge structure (200a, 200b). When the electronic device (100) is in a folded state, the folding area (or folding area) of the display (160) may be formed into a water drop shape (or dumbbell shape) in which gravity is applied, thereby securing a folding R (curvature) that prevents cracks or buckling (buckling) from occurring in the folding area of the display (160). In addition, by arranging the dumbbell-shaped display folding area within a certain space of the housings (110, 120), when the electronic device (100) is in a folded state, the gap between the housings (110, 120) that are arranged to face each other and have an 11-shaped arrangement state can be reduced. Through this, the electronic device (100) can reduce the gap between the housings (110, 120) in the folded state, thereby reducing the overall size of the electronic device (100), and can block or reduce the inflow of foreign substances between the housings (110, 120).

[0038] The first housing (110) may be connected to the second housing (120) using at least one hinge structure (200a, 200b). The first housing (110) may include a bottom area where the display (160) is mounted, and side walls or a separately provided frame surrounding the frame of the display (160) or the edge of the area where the display (160) is mounted. Additionally, a rear cover may be disposed on the back of the first housing (110). Here, the rear cover may be omitted.

[0039] At least a portion of the first housing (110) may be adhered to at least a portion of the first area (161) of the display (160). Alternatively, at least a portion of an edge of the front surface (the surface facing the z-axis direction) of the first housing (110) may be adhered to at least a portion of an edge of the first area (161) of the display (160). In this regard, an adhesive layer may be disposed between the front surface of the first housing (110) and the first area (161) of the display (160).

[0040] The first housing (110) may have at least a portion of its inner surface formed in a hollow shape. At least one circuit board, at least one battery, and at least one camera module may be disposed inside the first housing (110). The circuit board and battery disposed inside the first housing (110) may be electrically connected to electronic elements (e.g., at least one circuit board and at least one battery) disposed inside the second housing (120) via a flexible substrate (not shown). For example, the flexible substrate (not shown) may extend from a portion of the first housing (110) across the hinge housing (150) to a portion of the second housing (120). A portion of the flexible substrate (not shown) may be located inside the hinge housing (150). For example, a processor and a memory may be disposed on the circuit board disposed in the first housing (110).

[0041] The first housing (110) may be formed of at least a portion of a metal material, or may be formed of at least a portion of a non-metal material. The first housing (110) may be formed of a material having a certain amount of rigidity so as to support at least a portion of the display (160). In one embodiment, when the electronic device (100) is in an unfolded state, a portion of the first housing (110) that faces the second housing (120) (or a portion adjacent to the second housing (120)) may include a recessed portion in which at least a portion is recessed so that a hinge housing (150) can be placed.

[0042] The first housing (110) is connected to at least one hinge structure (200a, 200b) and can rotate counterclockwise (e.g., the direction when the electronic device (100) is folded) or clockwise (e.g., the direction when the electronic device (100) is unfolded) from any non-zero point between the -x and x-axis to any point between the z-axis and the -z-axis by an external pressure applied from the outside (e.g., a force applied by a user holding the first housing (110). When the electronic device (100) is folded, the first housing (110) can be arranged parallel to the z-axis or can be arranged parallel to the second housing (120). While the first housing (110) is arranged parallel to the second housing (120), at least some of the three borders (or edges) of the first housing (110) (e.g., the borders excluding the borders adjacent to the second housing (120) when the electronic device is in an unfolded state) may be arranged to contact the three borders of the second housing (120) (e.g., the borders excluding the borders adjacent to the first housing (110) when the electronic device (100) is in an unfolded state).

[0043] The second housing (120) may be connected to the first housing (110) via at least one hinge structure (200a, 200b). The second housing (120) may include a front surface (or bottom surface) on which at least a portion of the display (160) (e.g., at least a portion of the second region (162)) is mounted, side walls or a separately provided frame surrounding the front surface or the border of at least a portion of the second region (162) of the display (160). At least a portion of the second housing (120) may be adhered to at least a portion of the second region (162) of the display (160). Alternatively, at least a portion of the front edge of the second housing (120) may be adhered to the edge of the second region (162) of the display (160). In this regard, an adhesive layer may be disposed between the front surface of the second housing (120) and the second region (162) of the display (160).

[0044] The second housing (120) may have a hollow formed in at least a portion of the inside, similar to the first housing (110). At least one circuit board and at least one battery may be disposed inside the second housing (120). Alternatively, the at least one battery may be disposed in either the first housing (110) or the second housing (120), or in both. At least one of the printed circuit board or the battery disposed inside the second housing (120) may be electrically connected to a component (e.g., at least one of the printed circuit board or the battery) disposed inside the first housing (110) via a flexible substrate.

[0045] The second housing (120) may be formed of at least a portion of a metal material, similar to the first housing (110), or may be formed of at least a non-metal material. The second housing (120) may be formed of a material having a certain amount of rigidity so as to support at least a portion of the display (160). In one embodiment, when the electronic device (100) is in an unfolded state, a portion of the second housing (120) that faces the first housing (110) (or a portion adjacent to the first housing (110)) may include a recessed portion in which at least a portion is recessed so that a hinge housing (150) can be placed. The recessed portion of the second housing (120) may be placed adjacent to the recessed portion of the first housing (110). A rear cover may be placed on the rear of the second housing (120). Here, the rear cover may be omitted.

[0046] At least a portion of the hinge housing (150) may be disposed in recessed portions formed at portions where the first housing (110) and the second housing (120) face each other or are adjacent to each other when the electronic device (100) is in an unfolded state. The hinge housing (150) may be provided in a form that extends longer in the y-axis direction than in the x-axis direction as a whole. However, the present invention is not limited thereto, and the x-axis direction may be longer than the y-axis direction depending on the type of the electronic device (100). A structure (e.g., a boss, a hook) for fixing at least one hinge structure (200a, 200b) may be disposed in a portion of the inner surface of the hinge housing (150).

[0047] At least a portion of the display (160) may have flexibility. For example, the display (160) may include a first region (161) at least a portion of which is disposed on the first housing (110), a second region (162) at least a portion of which is disposed on the second housing (120), and a third region (163) (or folding region, or folding region) positioned between the first region (161) and the second region (162).

[0048] When the electronic device (100) is in a folded or unfolded state, at least a portion of the first region (161) and the second region (162) may be arranged in a flat state, and at least a portion of the third region (163) may have a curved state when the electronic device (100) is in a folded state. For example, the first region (161) and the second region (162) may maintain a flat state regardless of the state of the electronic device (100) (the arrangement position of the flat surface may be changed), and the third region (163) may be transformed into a curved state or a flat state in response to the state of the electronic device (100). For example, the third region (163) may have a flat state (or a flat state) when the electronic device (100) is in an unfolded state, and at least a portion of the third region (163) may have a curved state (or a curved state) when the electronic device (100) is in a folded state.

[0049] The display (160) may include various layers. For example, the display (160) may include an outer protective layer (or glass layer, or polymer layer) having a certain amount of transparency and a specified size, a display panel layer (or panel layer, panel, display panel) disposed under the outer protective layer to display a screen, and at least one first back layer (or back panel, back portion) disposed under the display panel layer. The first back layer may include at least one layer of a shock absorption layer (or embossing) and a heat dissipation layer (or metal sheet layer). Additionally or alternatively, the first back layer may further include an electromagnetic induction panel (e.g., a digitizer). The display (160) may further include a second back layer disposed under the first back layer. The second back layer (or back panel, back portion) may include at least one metal layer (or metal sheet) at least partially formed of a metal material. At least a portion of the second backing layer may include a designated pattern (e.g., a lattice pattern, a slit pattern) so as to be bendable. Alternatively, at least a portion of the second backing layer may be formed of another bendable material (e.g., a polymer material, a plastic material, a rubber material, a leather material). At least one of the first backing layer and the second backing layer may be omitted.

[0050] At least a part of at least one hinge structure (200a, 200b) may be disposed in the hinge housing (150), and at least a part (e.g., 200a, 200b) of the plurality of hinge structures (200a, 200b) may have similar structures and shapes to each other. In FIG. 1, a structure in which two hinge structures (200a, 200b) of similar shapes are disposed in the hinge housing (150) is described as an example, but the present invention is not limited thereto, and three or more hinge structures (200a, 200b) having a similar type of interlocking structure may be disposed, a hinge structure having a different type of non-interlocking structure may be omitted, or two or more hinge structures (200a, 200b) having a different type of interlocking structure may be mounted in the hinge housing (150). Among the at least one hinge structure (200a, 200b), some of the hinge structures (200a, 200b) perform a hinge operation based on eight axes (or six virtual axes and two real axes) and four sliding structures (or link structures), thereby supporting the third area (163) of the display (160) to form a dumbbell shape.

[0051] The center bar (170) may be positioned between the display (160) and the hinge structures (200a, 200b). The center bar (170) may be positioned to cover at least a portion of a central region of at least one of the first hinge structure (200a) and the second hinge structure (200b). As an example, the center bar (170) may be positioned to cover at least a portion of a central region of each of the first hinge structure (200a) and the second hinge structure (200b). The center bar (170) may be fastened and fixed to at least one of the hinge housing (150) and the hinge structures (200a, 200b).

[0052] The wing plates (131, 132) are arranged to be combined with at least one hinge structure (200a, 200b) and cover at least a portion of a surface of at least one hinge structure (200a, 200b) in the z-axis direction when the electronic device (100) is in an unfolded state. The wing plates (131, 132) are provided in a form separate from the housings (110, 120). Accordingly, a gap may be formed between the wing plates (131, 132) and the housings (110, 120). The wing plates (131, 132) may be arranged on both sides with the center bar (170) therebetween. For example, the first wing plate (131) may be positioned in the x-axis direction with respect to the center bar (170), and the second wing plate (132) may be positioned in the -x-axis direction with respect to the center bar (170). When the wing plates (131, 132) are coupled to the hinge structures (200a, 200b), they can be arranged at the same height as the center bar (170) or on the same xy plane based on the z-axis. The wing plates (131, 132) can rotate clockwise or counterclockwise according to the hinge operation of at least one hinge structure (200a, 200b). For example, while the first wing plate (131) rotates counterclockwise, the second wing plate (132) can rotate clockwise, and while the first wing plate (131) rotates clockwise, the second wing plate (132) can rotate counterclockwise. The first wing plate (131) can support a flat first surface of the third region (163) of the display (160) that folds into a dumbbell shape (or a water drop shape with gravity applied), and the second wing plate (132) can support a flat second surface (a surface symmetrical to the first surface with respect to the z-axis) of the third region (163) of the display (160) that folds into a dumbbell shape.

[0053] FIGS. 2A and 2B are diagrams illustrating an example of a display structure of an electronic device according to an embodiment. FIG. 2A is a diagram illustrating an unfolded state of the display of the electronic device, and FIG. 2B is a diagram illustrating a folded state of the display of the electronic device. The lattice regions (163a, 163b, 163c) illustrated in FIG. 2A are diagrams illustrated for convenience of explanation, and when a display is placed over the lattice regions (163a, 163b, 163c), the corresponding lattice regions (163a, 163b, 163c) may not be observed from the front. Also, in FIG. 2b, for convenience of explanation, regions (161, 162, 163) of the display (160) are indicated, and the structure expressed as a double layer in FIG. 2b may mean a panel layer (e.g., a layer located on the inner side of FIG. 2b) and a support layer or support substrate (e.g., a layer located on the outer side of eh 2b) on which lattice regions (163a, 163b, 163c) are formed while supporting the panel layer.

[0054] Referring to FIGS. 1 to 2B, the display (160) of the electronic device (100) may include a first area (161) (or a first part, a first location, a first area, a first section), a second area (162) (or a second part, a second location, a second area, a second section), and a third area (163) (or a third part, a third location, a third area, a third section, a folding area). The first to third areas (161, 162, 163) may be connected to each other. The third area (163) is disposed between the first area (161) and the second area (162). Accordingly, one side of the third region (163) (e.g., the left edge based on the illustrated drawing) is connected to the lower edge of the first region (161), and the other side of the third region (163) (e.g., the right edge based on the illustrated drawing) is connected to the upper edge of the second region (162). Based on the vertical direction of the illustrated drawing, the widths of the first region (161) and the second region (162) may be formed to be the same or similar. The third region (163) may have the same or similar width as the first region (161) or the second region (162), or may have a shorter width. Based on the horizontal direction of the illustrated drawing, the first region (161), the second region (162), and the third region (163) may have the same length.

[0055] The third region (163) may be a region that is folded when the electronic device (100) is in a folded state, or may be a folding position. The entirety or a portion of the panel protective layer (or at least one back layer that is disposed under the panel protective layer) disposed under the third region (163) may include a lattice pattern. Referring to the drawing, the third region (163) may form a water drop shape (or dumbbell shape) that falls by gravity from the upper side to the lower side based on the drawing. In this regard, the third region (163) may include a convex region (163c) that is convex in the downward direction, flat regions (163f1, 163f2) extending from both sides of the convex region (163c) to the boundary (or edge) of the first region (161) and the second region (162), and curved regions (163a, 163b) formed between the flat regions (163f1, 163f2) and the first region (161) and the second region (162) (regions having a curvature formed inversely when viewed in the curved direction of the convex region (163c)). The curved regions (163a, 163b) may have a curvature in a different direction from the convex direction of the convex region (163c). The length (UBL) of the folded portion (or third region (163) or folding region) of the display (160) includes the length from the curved regions (163a, 163b) to the end point of the convex region (163c) (the lowermost point of the convex region (163c)), and the length (UBL) of this folded portion may be influenced by the position and thickness of the center bar (170) described in FIG. 1, the position and width and thickness of the wing plates (131, 132), and the size of the sunken portion of the first housing (110) and the second housing (120).

[0056] The bending direction of the lattice pattern corresponding to the convex region (163c) and the bending direction of the lattice pattern corresponding to the curved regions (163a, 163b) may be different. For example, the convex region (163c) may be bent convexly toward the rear from the direction in which the screen of the display (160) is displayed, and the curved regions (163a, 163b) may be bent convexly from the rear of the display (160) toward the direction in which the screen is displayed. The lattice pattern may be omitted from the panel protective layer corresponding to the flat regions (163f1, 163f2). The lattice pattern formed in the curved regions (163a, 163b) and the lattice pattern formed in the convex region (163c) may have the same or similar shape. For example, the lattice pattern formed in the curved regions (163a, 163b) may include at least one of a half-etching type (e.g., a type in which a groove of a certain pattern is formed on the surface of the metal layer) or an etching hole type (e.g., a type in which a plurality of holes or empty spaces penetrating the front and back surfaces of the metal layer are arranged in a certain pattern). Alternatively, some of the lattice patterns of the curved regions (163a, 163b) may be formed as a half-etching type, and other parts may be formed as an etching hole type. According to one embodiment, the etching shape may be omitted. Since the lattice pattern of the convex region (163c) is formed with a relatively high curvature compared to the curved regions (163a, 163b), a lattice pattern different from that of the curved regions (163a, 163b) may be formed so as to take on a more flexible shape. For example, at least one of the etching size and etching depth of the lattice pattern of the convex region (163c) may be larger than those of the curved regions (163a, 163b), and the spacing between patterns (e.g., grooves or holes) may be smaller than those of the curved regions (163a, 163b).

[0057] FIG. 3 is a drawing showing an example of a hinge structure according to one embodiment, FIG. 4a is a front view of an exploded perspective view of the hinge structure according to one embodiment, and FIG. 4b is a rear view of an exploded perspective view of the hinge structure according to one embodiment. In FIGS. 3 to 4b, the first hinge structure (200a) among the hinge structures (200a, 200b) described above in FIG. 1 will be described as an example. The configuration of the first hinge structure (200a) may have the same structure and configuration as the second hinge structure (200b).

[0058] Referring to FIGS. 1 to 4b, the first hinge structure (200a) includes a fixed bracket (230) (or a center bracket), a first rotation member (210) (or a first rotation structure, a first rotation body), a second rotation member (220) (or a second rotation structure, a second rotation body), a first link member (310) (or a first slide link, a first rotation support structure, a first arm link member), a second link member (320) (or a second slide link, a second rotation support structure, a first rotation link member), a third link member (330) (or a third slide link, a third rotation support structure, a second arm link member), a fourth link member (340) (or a fourth slide link, a fourth rotation support structure, a second rotation link member), a first arm member (410) (or a first arm structure, a first arm), a second arm member (420) (or a second arm structure, a second arm), and a first support member (510). (or, a first support, a first gap support structure), a second support member (520) (or, a second support, a second gap support structure), a third support member (530) (or, a third support, a third gap support structure), a fourth support member (540) (or, a fourth support, a fourth gap support structure).

[0059] At least one of the components included in the first hinge structure (200a) described above may be omitted. For example, the first rotation member (210) and the second rotation member (220) are directly coupled to the housings (110, 120), and the arm members (410, 420) are coupled to the rotation members (210, 220) and can rotate in response to the rotation of the rotation members (210, 220). That is, the arm members (410, 420) can also rotate along with the rotation of the rotation members (210, 22).

[0060] The first hinge structure (200a) may include a first shaft (241), a second shaft (242), a cam member (360) (or a cam structure), a first main gear (431), a second main gear (432), at least one idle gear (433, 434), a gear fixing member (or gear bracket) (260), a shaft fixing member (270) (or a shaft bracket), a first elastic member (281), a second elastic member (282), a first coupling member (291), and a second coupling member (292). The gear structures described below (e.g., the first main gear (431), the second main gear (432), at least one idle gear (433, 434)) and the gear bracket (260) may also be omitted in response to removal of the linkage function.

[0061] The fixed bracket (230) may include a bracket body (233), a first rail (231) (or a first fixed rail), and a second rail (232) (or a second fixed rail). Grooves may be formed on one side of the bracket body (233) (e.g., a side wall facing the -y-axis direction) to allow one edge (e.g., a +y-axis edge) of the first shaft (241) and the second shaft (242) to be mounted. Grooves may be formed on one side of the bracket body (233) (e.g., a side wall facing the y-axis direction) to allow at least one idle gear (433, 434) to be mounted.

[0062] The fixed bracket (230) may be at least partially secured and fixed to one side of the hinge housing (150). For example, the fixed bracket (230) may be fixed to the -y-axis edge or the y-axis edge of the hinge housing (150). The fixed bracket (230) may include a structure (e.g., the first rail (231) and the second rail (232)) to which a part of the first rotation member (210) (e.g., the first rail structure (211)) and a part of the second rotation member (220) (e.g., the third rail structure (221)) may be rotatably fastened. That is, a part of the first rotation member (210) and a part of the second rotation member (220) may be rotatably fastened.

[0063] The first rail (231) of the fixed bracket (230) forms a virtual axis (e.g., the first axis (e.g., the first axis (711) of FIG. 7 or the first virtual axis or the first fixed axis)) that can rotate in place while the first rail structure (211) of the first rotation member (210) rotates. The first rail (231) can be formed in a structure corresponding to the first rail structure (211). For example, the first rail (231) can include two arc-shaped or crescent-shaped rails. A part of the other side of the first rotation member (210) (e.g., the second rail structure (212)) can perform a rotational movement or a curved sliding movement based on a second axis (e.g., the second axis (712) of FIG. 7, the second virtual axis, or the first moving axis) different from the first axis. The second rail (232) can rotate while the third rail structure (221) of the second rotation member (220) rotates. A virtual axis (e.g., the fifth axis (715) of FIG. 7, the third virtual axis, or the second fixed axis) that can rotate in place is formed. A part of the other side of the second rotating member (220) (e.g., the fourth rotating rail structure (222)) can perform a rotational movement or a curved sliding movement based on a sixth axis (e.g., the sixth axis (716) of FIG. 7, the fourth virtual axis, or the second moving axis) that is different from the fifth axis.

[0064] The fixed bracket (230) may be formed of a material having a certain rigidity (e.g., a metal material or a reinforced plastic having a certain rigidity) so as to support the movement of the first rotation member (210) and the second rotation member (220) during the hinge operation process (an operation in which the angle between the first housing (110) and the second housing (120) changes from 0 degrees to 180 degrees or is mounted at a specific angle between 0 degrees and 180 degrees). In the above description, the fixed bracket (230) is exemplified as a structure fixed to the hinge housing (150), but one shape of the hinge housing (150) may also be provided in the shape of the fixed bracket (230).

[0065] The first rotation member (210) may include a first rotation body (213), a first rail structure (211) (or the first rotation rail structure) arranged in the x-axis direction of the first rotation body (213), and a second rail structure (212) (or the second rotation rail structure) arranged in the -x-axis direction of the first rotation body (213). Alternatively, the first rotation member (210) may include a portion (e.g., the first rail structure (211)) that is connected to one side of a fixed bracket (230) (e.g., the first rail (231)) and then is connected to enable a hinge movement, and a portion (e.g., the second rail structure (212)) that is connected to one side of a second link member (320) (e.g., the fourth rail (321)).

[0066] The first rail structure (211) of the first rotational member (210) coupled to the fixed bracket (230) can rotate in place (e.g., rotate counterclockwise or clockwise) while the second link member (320) coupled to the first housing (110) performs a hinge operation (or rotates counterclockwise or clockwise). The second rail structure (212) coupled to the second link member (320) can rotate (or slide) within the second link member (320) (e.g., the fourth rail (321)) while moving in one direction (e.g., counterclockwise while the electronic device (100) is folded from an unfolded state or clockwise while the electronic device (100) is unfolded from a folded state).

[0067] The first rotating body (213) may include a structure (e.g., at least one hole extending vertically) that can be coupled with the first wing plate (131). The first rotating member (210) may generate friction with the fixed bracket (230) and the second link member (320) while the hinge motion is repeated or executed, and may be formed of a material (e.g., a metal material) having a certain strength or higher that can withstand the generated friction. A portion of the first wing plate (131) among the wing plates (131, 132) may be fixed to the first rotating member (210).

[0068] The second rotation member (220) may include a second rotation body (223), a third rail structure (221) (or third rotation rail structure) arranged in the x-axis direction of the second rotation body (223), and a fourth rail structure (222) (or fourth rotation rail structure) arranged in the x-axis direction of the second rotation body (223). Alternatively, the second rotation member (220) includes a portion (e.g., the third rail structure (221)) that is coupled to the other side of the fixed bracket (230) (e.g., the second rail (232)) so as to enable hinge movement, and a portion (e.g., the fourth rotation rail structure (222)) that is coupled to one side (e.g., the sixth rail (341)) of the fourth link member (340). The second rotation member (220) has a third rail structure (221) that is connected to the fixed bracket (230) and rotates in place while the fourth link member (340) coupled to the second housing (120) performs a hinge operation (clockwise or counterclockwise rotation operation), and the fourth rotation rail structure (222) coupled to the fourth link member (340) rotates (or slides) within the fourth link member (340) (e.g., the sixth rail (341)) while moving in one direction (e.g., counterclockwise while the electronic device (100) is folded from an unfolded state or clockwise while the electronic device (100) is unfolded from a folded state). The second rotation body (223) may include a structure (e.g., at least one hole extending vertically) that can be coupled with the second wing plate (132). The second rotation member (220) may, similarly to the first rotation member (210), generate friction with the fixed bracket (230) and the fourth link member (340) while the hinge motion is repeated or executed, and may be formed of a material (e.g., a metal material) having a certain strength or higher that can withstand the generated friction. For example, the second rotation member (220) may be formed of the same material as the first rotation member (210). A portion of the second wing plate (132) among the wing plates (131, 132) may be fixed to the second rotation member (220).

[0069] The second rotation member (220) can move in the opposite direction to the first rotation member (210). For example, while the first rail structure (211) of the first rotation member (210) rotates in place (i.e., around the axis) in a counterclockwise direction, the third rail structure (221) of the second rotation member (220) can rotate in place (i.e., around the axis) in a clockwise direction.

[0070] As the second rail structure (212) of the first rotation member (210) rotates counterclockwise, the second rail structure (212) can slide counterclockwise (since the sliding motion is relative, the fourth rail (321) of the second link member (320) slides clockwise with respect to the second rail structure (212)) within the fourth rail (321) of the second link member (320) (or, the second link rail, the first rotation rail). While the second rail structure (212) rotates and slides, the fourth rotation rail structure (222) of the second rotation member (220) can rotate counterclockwise and slide counterclockwise within the sixth rail (341) of the fourth link member (340) (since the sliding motion is relative, the sixth rail (341) of the fourth link member (340) slides clockwise with respect to the fourth rotation rail structure (222).

[0071] The first axis corresponding to the reference around which the first rail structure (211) of the first rotation member (210) rotates and the fifth axis corresponding to the reference around which the third rail structure (221) of the second rotation member (220) rotates may be fixed axes around which each of the rail structures (the first rail structure (211) and the third rail structure (221)) rotates in place. The first axis (or the first axis (711) of FIG. 7) may be a virtual axis formed while the first rail structure (211) rotates along the first rail (231) of the fixed bracket (230). The fifth axis (or the fifth axis (715) of FIG. 7) may be a virtual axis formed while the third rail structure (221) rotates along the second rail (232) of the fixed bracket (230).

[0072] The second axis corresponding to the reference around which the second rail structure (212) of the first rotation member (210) rotates and the sixth axis corresponding to the reference around which the fourth rotation rail structure (222) of the second rotation member (220) rotates may be movement axes formed as each of the rail structures (the second rail structure (212) and the fourth rotation rail structure (222)) moves. The second axis (or the second axis (712) of FIG. 7) may be a virtual axis formed as the second rail structure (212) slides or rotates within the fourth rail (321) during the movement of the second link member (320). The sixth axis (or the sixth axis (716) of FIG. 7) may be a virtual axis formed as the fourth rotation rail structure (222) slides or rotates within the sixth rail (341) during the movement of the fourth link member (340).

[0073] The first link member (310) can fix the first arm member (410) to the first housing (110) and support the rotational motion (or sliding motion) of the first arm member (410). The first link member (310) includes a structure in which a portion of the first arm member (410) is seated. The first link member (310) can include a first link body (312). The first link member (310) can include an eleventh link side wall (313) and a twelfth link side wall (314) that extend in the z-axis direction from both sides (e.g., y-axis and -y-axis edges) of the first link body (312). A void space can be formed between the eleventh link side wall (313) and the twelfth link side wall (314). A third rail (311) (or, first arm rail, first link rail) protruding into the empty space between the 11th link side wall (313) and the 12th link side wall (314) may be formed on each of the 11th link side wall (313) and the 12th link side wall (314). The third rail (311) may be respectively fastened to the fifth rail structure (411) (or, first arm rail structure) of the first arm member (410). The fifth rail structure (411) of the first arm member (410) may be seated in the empty space to guide the rotational or sliding motion of the fifth rail structure (411). The first link member (310) may include a first link connecting portion (315) protruding in the y-axis direction from one side (e.g., the 11th link side wall (313)) of the first link body (312). In the process of fixing the first link member (310) and the second link member (320) to the first housing (110), the first link connecting portion (315) can be coupled or fastened to the second link connecting portion (325) of the second link member (320) in the y-axis direction. A structure (e.g., at least one hole or groove) used to fix the first link member (310) to the first housing (110) can be formed in at least one of the first link connecting portion (315), the eleventh link side wall (313), and the twelfth link side wall (314).For example, a structure (e.g., at least one hole or groove) used to secure the first link member (310) to the first housing (110) may be formed in the first link connecting portion (315) and the twelfth link side wall (314).

[0074] The second link member (320) can fix the first rotation member (210) to the first housing (110) and support the rotational motion (or sliding motion) of the first rotation member (210). The second link member (320) includes a structure in which a portion of the first rotation member (210) is seated. The second link member (320) can include a second link body (322), a twenty-first link side wall (323) and a twenty-second link side wall (324) extending in the z-axis direction from both sides (e.g., y-axis and -y-axis edges) of the second link body (322). An empty space is formed between the 21st link side wall (323) and the 22nd link side wall (324), and a fourth rail (321) protruding into the empty space between the 21st link side wall (323) and the 22nd link side wall (324) may be formed on each of the 21st link side wall (323) and the 22nd link side wall (324). The fourth rail (321) may be respectively fastened to the second rail structure (212) of the first rotation member (210). The second rail structure (212) of the first rotation member (210) may be seated in the empty space to guide the rotation or sliding motion of the second rail structure (212). The second link member (320) may include a second link connecting portion (325) protruding in the -y-axis direction from the other side of the second link body (322) (e.g., the 21st link side wall (323)). In the process of fixing the first link member (310) and the second link member (320) to the first housing (110), the second link connecting portion (325) can be coupled or fastened to the first link connecting portion (315) of the first link member (310) in the -y-axis direction. A structure (e.g., at least one hole or groove) used to fix the second link member (320) to the second housing (120) can be formed in at least one of the second link connecting portion (325), the 21st link side wall (323), and the 22nd link side wall (324).For example, a structure (e.g., at least one hole or groove) used to secure the second link member (320) to the first housing (110) may be formed in the second link connecting portion (325) and the twenty-first link side wall (323).

[0075] The third link member (330) can fix the second arm member (420) to the second housing (120) and support the rotational motion (or sliding motion) of the second arm member (420). The third link member (330) can fix the second arm member (420) to the second housing (120) and support the rotational motion (or sliding motion) of the second arm member (420). The third link member (330) includes a structure in which a portion of the second arm member (420) is seated. The third link member (330) can include a third link body (332), a 31st link side wall (333) and a 32nd link side wall (334) extending in the z-axis direction from both sides (e.g., y-axis and -y-axis edges) of the third link body (332). An empty space is formed between the 31st link side wall (333) and the 32nd link side wall (334), and a fifth rail (331) (or third link rail, second arm rail) protruding into the empty space between the 31st link side wall (333) and the 32nd link side wall (334) may be formed on each of the 31st link side wall (333) and the 32nd link side wall (334). The fifth rail (331) may be respectively fastened to the sixth rail structure (421) (or second arm rail structure) of the second arm member (420). The third link member (330) may include a third link connecting portion (335) protruding in the y-axis direction from one side (e.g., the 31st link side wall (333)) of the third link body (332). In the process of fixing the third link member (330) and the fourth link member (340) to the second housing (120), the third link connecting portion (335) may be coupled or fastened to the fourth link connecting portion (345) of the fourth link member (340) in the y-axis direction.A structure (e.g., at least one hole or groove) used to secure the third link member (330) to the second housing (120) may be formed in at least one of the third link connecting portion (335), the 31st link side wall (333), and the 32nd link side wall (334). For example, a structure (e.g., at least one hole or groove) used to secure the third link member (330) to the second housing (120) may be formed in the third link connecting portion (335) and the 32nd link side wall (334).

[0076] The fourth link member (340) can fix the second rotation member (220) to the second housing (120) and support the rotational motion (or sliding motion) of the second rotation member (220). The fourth link member (340) includes a structure in which a portion of the second rotation member (220) is seated. The fourth link member (340) can include a fourth link body (342), a 41st link side wall (343) and a 42nd link side wall (344) extending in the z-axis direction from both sides (e.g., y-axis and -y-axis edges) of the fourth link body (342). An empty space is formed between the 41st link side wall (343) and the 42nd link side wall (344), and a sixth rail (341) (or fourth link rail, second rotation rail) protruding into the empty space between the 41st link side wall (343) and the 42nd link side wall (344) may be formed on each of the 41st link side wall (343) and the 42nd link side wall (344). The sixth rail (341) may be respectively fastened to the fourth rail structure (222) of the second rotation member (220). The fourth rail structure (222) of the second rotation member (220) may be seated in the empty space to guide the rotation or sliding motion of the fourth rail structure (222). The fourth link member (340) may include a fourth link connecting portion (345) that protrudes in the -y-axis direction from the other side of the fourth link body (342) (e.g., the 41st link side wall (343)). In the process of fixing the fourth link member (340) and the third link member (330) to the second housing (120), the fourth link connecting portion (345) may be coupled or fastened to the third link connecting portion (335) of the third link member (330) in the -y-axis direction. A structure (e.g., at least one hole or groove) used to fix the second link member (320) to the second housing (120) may be formed in at least one of the fourth link connecting portion (345), the 41st link side wall (343), and the 42nd link side wall (344).For example, a structure (e.g., at least one hole or groove) used to secure the fourth link member (340) to the second housing (120) may be formed in the fourth link connecting portion (345) and the forty-first link side wall (343).

[0077] The first arm member (410) includes a structure (e.g., a fifth rail structure (411) or a first arm rail structure) that is coupled to a first link member (310) coupled to a first housing (110). The fifth rail structure (411) can perform a sliding motion in a counterclockwise direction and a clockwise direction within a third rail (311) formed in the first link member (310). The first arm member (410) can include a first arm body (413), and a first shaft mounting portion (412) that extends from the first arm body (413) in the x-axis direction and can be coupled to a first shaft (241). A first main gear (431) can be arranged on one side of the first shaft mounting portion (412). A hole that penetrates in the y-axis or -y-axis direction can be formed within the first shaft mounting portion (412) so that the first shaft (241) can be mounted thereon. The first shaft mounting portion (412) may include a first cam structure (414) that engages with the cam member (360). The first cam structure (414) may be arranged on a side wall of the first shaft mounting portion (412) in the -y-axis direction. [0078] The second arm member (420) includes a structure (e.g., a sixth rail structure (421)) that is connected to a third link member (330) coupled with the second housing (120). The sixth rail structure (421) can perform a sliding motion in a counterclockwise direction and a clockwise direction within a fifth rail (331) formed in the third link member (330). The second arm member (420) can include a second arm body (423), and a second shaft mounting portion (422) that extends from the second arm body (423) in the -x-axis direction and can be connected to a second shaft (242). A second main gear (432) can be arranged on one side of the second shaft mounting portion (422). A hole that penetrates in the y-axis or -y-axis direction can be formed within the second shaft mounting portion (422) so that the second shaft (242) can be mounted thereon. The second shaft mounting portion (422) may include a second cam structure (424) that engages with the cam member (360). The second cam structure (424) may be arranged on a side wall of the second shaft mounting portion (422) in the -y-axis direction. The second arm member (420) may rotate clockwise and counterclockwise with respect to the real axis by the second shaft (242).

[0079] The cam member (360) may include a first cam (361) that engages with the first cam structure (414) of the first arm member (410), a second cam (362) that engages with the second cam structure (424) of the second arm member (420), and a support (363) that connects the first cam (361) and the second cam (362). A through hole through which a first shaft (241) can pass may be formed at the center of the first cam (361), and a through hole through which a second shaft (242) can pass may be formed at the center of the second cam (362). A first elastic member (281) and a second elastic member (282) are arranged between the cam member (360) and the shaft bracket (270), so as to provide an elastic force that pushes the cam member (360) toward the first cam structure (414) and the second cam structure (424).

[0080] The shaft bracket (270) may include a fixing structure (273) (e.g., a through hole in the z-axis direction) that can fix the first hinge structure (200a) to the hinge housing (150). In addition, the shaft bracket (270) may include shaft mounting holes (271, 272) into which a first shaft (241) and a second shaft (242) arranged in the y-axis direction can be inserted. The sizes of the shaft mounting holes (271, 272) of the shaft bracket (270) may be formed larger than the first shaft (241) and the second shaft (242). The first shaft (241) may be inserted and mounted into the first shaft mounting hole (271), and the second shaft (242) may be inserted and mounted into the second shaft mounting hole (272).

[0081] A gear bracket (260) may be arranged between the cam member (360) and at least one idle gear (233a, 233b). The gear bracket (260) may include, for example, holes through which the first shaft (241) and the second shaft (242) pass and are mounted, and mounting holes through which one side of at least one idle gear (233a, 233b) is mounted.

[0082] The first main gear (431) may be arranged in a gear pattern on one side of the first shaft mounting portion (412) of the first arm member (410). The first main gear (431) may be gear-coupled with the first idle gear (433). The second main gear (432) may be gear-coupled with the second idle gear (434). The first idle gear (433) and the second idle gear (434) may be gear-coupled. The above-described first main gear (431), first idle gear (433), second idle gear (434), and second main gear (432) may be gear-connected to each other, thereby linking the first arm member (410) and the second arm member (420).

[0083] The plurality of coupling members (291, 292) may include a first coupling member (291) and a second coupling member (292). The first coupling member (291) may fix one side of the first shaft (241) protruding in the -y-axis direction through the first shaft mounting hole (271). The second coupling member (292) may fix one side of the second shaft (242) protruding in the -y-axis direction through the second shaft mounting hole (272). At least one of the coupling members (291, 292) described above may include, for example, a shape of an E-ring.

[0084] A plurality of ring structures (251, 252) may be arranged between each of the plurality of connecting members (291, 292) and the shaft bracket (270). The plurality of ring structures (251, 252) may include a first washer ring (251) capable of preventing separation of the first connecting member (291) and a second washer ring (252) capable of preventing separation of the second connecting member (292). The first washer ring (251) has a first protruding region (253) protruding in the -y-axis direction, so that the first protruding region (253) can be used as a guide member when assembling the center bar (170) and the first hinge structure (200a). The second washer (252) has a second protruding area (254) that protrudes in the -y-axis direction, so that the second protruding area (254) can be used as a guide member when assembling the center bar (170) and the first hinge structure (200a).

[0085] A plurality of support members may be formed to contact a rail structure (212, 222, 411, 412) coupled with a plurality of link members (310, 320, 330, 340). The plurality of support members may include a first support member (510), a second support member (520), a third support member (530), and a fourth support member (540).

[0086] The first support member (510) may be arranged between one surface of the first housing (110) (e.g., the surface facing the z-axis) and the other surface of the fifth rail structure (411) (e.g., the surface facing the -z-axis) so as to contact the other surface of the fifth rail structure (411). The first support member (510) may include a first fixing portion (512) and a first contact portion (511), and the first fixing portion (512) may be configured to apply a force in a first direction to the other surface of the fifth rail structure (411). The first fixing portion (512) may be fixed to at least one of the first housing (110) and the first link member (310) through a process using welding, an adhesive, or a screw fastening. For example, the first fixing portion (512) may be formed in a flat plate shape according to the shape of the surface to be seated on the first housing (110) when fixed to the first housing (110). According to one embodiment, the first fixing portion (512) may be formed in an “L” shape depending on the shape of the surface that is seated on the first link member (310) when fixed to the first link member (310). The first contact portion (511) may be formed to be bent between the fifth rail structure (411) and the first fixing portion (512) so as to provide an elastic force acting on the fifth rail structure (411) and the first fixing portion (512). At least a portion of the first contact portion (511) may be formed in a “C” shape. At least a portion of the first contact portion (511) may be elastically pressed by contacting the fifth rail structure (411) and may maintain contact with the fifth rail structure (411) using the elastic force (repulsive force).

[0087] The second support member (520) may be arranged between one surface of the first housing (110) and the other surface of the second rail structure (212) to contact the other surface of the second rail structure (212). The second fixing portion (522) may be fixed to at least one of the second link member (320) and the first housing (110) through a process using welding, an adhesive, or a screw fastening. For example, the second fixing portion (522) may be formed in a flat plate shape according to the shape of the surface that is seated on the first housing (110) when fixed to the first housing (110). According to one embodiment, the second fixing portion (522) may be formed in an “L” shape depending on the shape of the surface that is seated on the second link member (320) when fixed to the second link member (320). The second contact portion (521) may be formed to be bent between the second rail structure (212) and the second fixing portion (522) so as to provide an elastic force acting on the second rail structure (212) and the second fixing portion (522). At least a portion of the second contact portion (521) may be formed in a “C” shape. At least a portion of the second contact portion (521) may be elastically pressed by contacting the second rail structure (212) and may maintain contact with the second rail structure (212) using the elastic force (repulsive force).

[0088] The third support member (530) may be positioned between one surface of the second housing (120) and the other surface of the sixth rail structure (421) to contact the other surface of the sixth rail structure (421). The third support member (530) may include a third fixing portion (532) and a third contact portion (531) to apply a force in a third direction to the other surface of the sixth rail structure (421). The third fixing portion (532) may be fixed to at least one of the second housing (120) and the third link member (330) through a process using welding, an adhesive, or a screw fastening. For example, the third fixing portion (532) may be formed in a flat plate shape according to the shape of the surface that is seated on the first housing (110) when fixed to the second housing (120). According to one embodiment, the third fixing portion (532) may be formed in an “L” shape depending on the shape of the surface that is seated on the third link member (330) when fixed to the third link member (330). The third contact portion (531) may be formed to be bent between the sixth rail structure (421) and the third fixing portion (532) so as to provide an elastic force acting on the sixth rail structure (421) and the third fixing portion (532). At least a portion of the third contact portion (531) may be formed in a “C” shape. At least a portion of the third contact portion (531) may be elastically pressed by contacting the sixth rail structure (421) and may maintain contact with the sixth rail structure (421) using the elastic force (repulsive force).

[0089] The fourth support member (540) may be positioned between one surface of the second housing (120) and the other surface of the fourth rotation rail structure (222) to contact the other surface of the fourth rotation rail structure (222). The fourth support member (540) may include a fourth fixing portion (542) and a second contact portion (521) to apply a force in a fourth direction that is opposite to the third direction to the other surface of the fourth rotation rail structure (222). The fourth fixing portion (542) may be fixed to at least one of the fourth link member (340) and the second housing (120) through a process using welding, an adhesive, or a screw fastening. For example, the fourth fixing portion (542) may be formed in a flat plate shape depending on the shape of the surface that is seated on the second housing (120) when fixed to the second housing (120). According to one embodiment, the fourth fixing portion (542) may be formed in an “L” shape depending on the shape of the surface that is seated on the fourth link member (340) when fixed to the fourth link member (340). The fourth contact portion (541) may be formed to be bent between the fourth rotation rail structure (222) and the fourth fixing portion (542) to provide elastic force. At least a portion of the fourth contact portion (541) may be formed in a “C” shape. At least a portion of the fourth contact portion (541) may be elastically pressed by contacting the fourth rotation rail structure (222) and may maintain contact with the fourth rotation rail structure (222) using the elastic force (repulsive force).

[0090] FIG. 5a is a front view of an exploded perspective view of a hinge module according to one embodiment, and FIG. 5b is a rear view of an exploded perspective view of a hinge module according to one embodiment.

[0091] Referring to FIGS. 1 to 5b, the hinge module may include hinge structures (200a, 200b), wing plates (131, 132), and a center bar (170).

[0092] At least one hinge structure (200a, 200b) may be disposed between the first housing (110) and the second housing (120) when the electronic device (100) is in an unfolded state. In the at least one hinge structure (200a, 200b), the hinge structures (200a, 200b) disposed at the y-axis edge and the -y-axis edge and the hinge structure (200c) disposed at the center may have slightly different shapes or structures, but may commonly include rotating members.

[0093] Referring to the drawings, a first rotation member (210) and a second rotation member (220) may be arranged on each of the first hinge structure (200a) and the second hinge structure (200b). The first rotation member (210) and the second rotation member (220) may be coupled to wing plates (131, 132), respectively. For example, the first rotation member (210) may be coupled to the first wing plate (131), and the second rotation member (220) may be coupled to the second wing plate (132). The first wing plate (131) and the second wing plate (132) may be arranged to be spaced apart from each other by a predetermined interval or distance. The first wing plate (131) and the second wing plate (132) can be spaced apart by a distance corresponding to the width of the x-axis of the center bar (170) or the width of the x-axis of the center bar (170).

[0094] A center bar (170) may be arranged between a first hinge structure (200a) and a second hinge structure (200b). The center bar (170) may include a plurality of guide structures (173) protruding toward each of the first hinge structure (200a) and the second hinge structure (200b). At least one of the plurality of guide structures (173) of the center bar (170) may include a first through hole (171) (e.g., a hole penetrating in the y-axis direction) and a second through hole (172) (e.g., a hole penetrating in the y-axis direction). A first protruding area (253) formed in each of the first hinge structure (200a) and the second hinge structure (200b) may be inserted into the first through hole (171). A second protrusion area (254) formed in each of the first hinge structure (200a) and the second hinge structure (200b) may be inserted into the second through hole (172). Accordingly, the center bar (170) may be fastened to each of the first hinge structure (200a) and the second hinge structure (200b). The position of the center bar (170) may not change and may be the same at a fixed position in each of the unfolded state (open), the folded state (close), and the intermediate state of the electronic device. The center bar (170) may be the center of the electronic device in each of the unfolded state (open), the folded state (close), and the intermediate state of the electronic device.

[0095] The first wing plate (131) overlaps vertically with each of the first hinge structure (200a) and the second hinge structure (200b) when viewed in the z-axis direction, and the first wing plate (131) can be fastened to the first rotation member (210) of each of the first hinge structure (200a) and the second hinge structure (200b).

[0096] The second wing plate (132) overlaps vertically with each of the first hinge structure (200a) and the second hinge structure (200b) when viewed in the z-axis direction, and the second wing plate (132) can be fastened to the second rotation member (220) of each of the first hinge structure (200a) and the second hinge structure (200b).

[0097] FIG. 6 is a drawing showing an unfolded state and a folded state of a hinge structure (200) included in an electronic device according to one embodiment. In FIG. 6, drawing 601 shows an example of a cross-section cut at a position where female members (410, 420) are arranged in the unfolded state of the hinge structure (200), and drawing 602 shows an example of a cross-section cut at a position where female members (410, 420) are arranged in the folded state of the hinge structure (200).

[0098] Referring to FIG. 6, in drawing 601, the electronic device (100) may be placed in an open state. When the electronic device (100) is in an open state, one side of the first housing (110) (e.g., the side on which the first area (161) of the display (160) is mounted) and one side of the second housing (120) (e.g., the side on which the second area (162) of the display (160) is mounted) may be placed to face the same z-axis. When the electronic device (100) is in an open state, the third area (163) placed between the first area (161) and the second area (162) of the display (160) may be maintained flat.

[0099] In the drawing 602, the electronic device (100) can be arranged in a folded state (closed). When the electronic device (100) is in a folded state (closed), one side of the first housing (110) (e.g., the side on which the first area (161) of the display (160) is mounted) and one side of the second housing (120) (e.g., the side on which the second area (162) of the display (160) is mounted) can be arranged to face each other. A convex portion of the third area (163) (or folding area) arranged between the first area (161) and the second area (162) of the display (160) can be arranged to face the -z-axis direction.

[0100] When the electronic device (100) is in a folded state (closed), the first wing plate (131) and the second wing plate (132) portions disposed on the first arm member (410) and the second arm member (420) can support a portion of the display (160) in response to the rotation of the arm members (410, 420).

[0101] When the electronic device (100) changes from an unfolded state (open) to a folded state (closed), the first wing plate (131) and the second wing plate (132) may be arranged adjacent to each other with the display (160) therebetween. When the electronic device (100) changes from an unfolded state (open) to a folded state (closed), the wing plates (131, 132) may rotate clockwise or counterclockwise according to the hinge operation of at least one hinge structure (200a, 200b). For example, while the first wing plate (131) rotates counterclockwise, the second wing plate (132) may rotate clockwise, and while the first wing plate (131) rotates clockwise, the second wing plate (132) may rotate counterclockwise.

[0102] FIG. 7 is a drawing showing an example of the formation of an axis of a hinge structure (200) in an unfolded state of a hinge structure (200) included in an electronic device according to one embodiment. In FIG. 7, drawing 701 is a drawing showing an example of a cross-section of the hinge structure (200) taken along line AA` in FIG. 3. For example, drawing 701 shows an example of a cross-section cut at a position where rotating members (210, 220) are arranged in the hinge structure (200). In FIG. 7, drawing 702 is a drawing showing an example of a cross-section of the hinge structure (200) taken along line BB` in FIG. 3. For example, drawing 702 shows an example of a cross-section cut at a position where arm members (410, 420) are arranged in the hinge structure (200).

[0103] Referring to FIGS. 1 to 7, a first rail structure (211) of a first rotation member (210) may be fastened to one side (e.g., a first rail (231)) of a fixed bracket (230). A third rail structure (221) of a second rotation member (220) may be fastened to the other side (e.g., a second rail (232)) of the fixed bracket (230). The first rail (231) and the second rail (232) of the fixed bracket (230) may be arranged so that at least a portion thereof overlaps with each other when viewed in the y-axis direction from a point on the x-axis. Accordingly, in the AA` cross section, one edge (e.g., an x-axis edge) of the first rail structure (211) and one edge (e.g., a -x-axis edge) of the third rail structure (221) may be arranged so as to partially overlap.

[0104] The first rail structure (211) of the first rotation member (210) can rotate around the first axis (711) (or the first virtual axis) while rotating counterclockwise or clockwise within the first rail (231) of the fixed bracket (230). Since the first axis (711) is fixed regardless of a change in the folded or unfolded state (open) of the electronic device (100), it can become the first fixed axis of the fixed bracket (230). The second rail structure (212) of the first rotation member (210) can perform a rotational movement (or sliding movement) around the second axis (712) (or the second virtual axis) within the fourth rail (321) of the second link member (320). At this time, the second rail structure (212) and the fourth rail (321) can move counterclockwise or clockwise in response to the rotation of the first link member (310) (e.g., rotate counterclockwise while the electronic device (100) changes from an open state to a folded state, and rotate clockwise while the electronic device (100) changes from a folded state to an open state). Accordingly, the second axis (712) can become a moving axis that moves counterclockwise or clockwise in response to the movement of the second link member (320).

[0105] Similarly, the third rail structure (221) of the second rotation member (220) can rotate about the fifth axis (715) (or the fourth virtual axis) while rotating clockwise or counterclockwise within the second rail (232) of the fixed bracket (230). Since the fifth axis (715) is fixed regardless of the change in the folded or unfolded state (open) of the electronic device (100), it can become the second fixed axis of the fixed bracket (230). The fourth rail structure (222) of the second rotation member (220) can perform a rotational movement (or sliding movement) about the sixth axis (716) (or the fourth virtual axis) within the sixth rail (341) of the fourth link member (340). At this time, the fourth rail structure (222) and the sixth rail (341) can move clockwise or counterclockwise in response to the rotation of the fourth link member (340) (e.g., rotating clockwise while the electronic device (100) changes from an open state to a folded state, and rotating counterclockwise while the electronic device (100) changes from a folded state to an open state). Accordingly, the sixth axis (716) can be a moving axis that moves counterclockwise or clockwise in response to the movement of the fourth link member (340).

[0106] A first shaft (241) fixed to one side of a fixed bracket (230) (e.g., an edge of the -x axis among the side walls in the -y axis direction) can be connected to a first arm member (410). A portion of the first shaft (241) can be placed in one side of the first arm member (410) (e.g., a through hole of the first shaft holder (412)). The first shaft (241) can serve as a third axis (713) (or first real axis) around which the first arm member (410) rotates. The fifth rail structure (411) of the first arm member (410) can perform a rotational motion (or sliding motion) based on the fourth axis (714) (or third virtual axis) within the fifth rail (331) of the first link member (310). At this time, the fifth rail structure (411) and the third rail (311) can move counterclockwise or clockwise in response to the rotation of the third link member (330) (e.g., rotate counterclockwise while the electronic device (100) changes from an unfolded state (open) to a folded state, and rotate clockwise while the electronic device (100) changes from a folded state to an unfolded state (open). Accordingly, the fourth axis (714) can be a moving axis that moves counterclockwise or clockwise in response to the movement of the first link member (310).

[0107] Similarly, a second shaft (242) fixed to the other side of the fixed bracket (230) (e.g., an x-axis edge of a side wall in the -y-axis direction) can be connected to the second arm member (420). A portion of the second shaft (242) can be arranged in the other side of the second arm member (420) (e.g., a through hole of the second shaft holder (422)). The second shaft (242) can serve as a seventh axis (717) (or second real axis) around which the second arm member (420) rotates. The sixth rail structure (421) of the second arm member (420) can perform a rotational motion (or sliding motion) based on the eighth axis (718) (or sixth virtual axis) within the fifth rail (331) of the third link member (330). At this time, the sixth rail structure (421) and the fifth rail (331) can move counterclockwise or clockwise in response to the rotation of the third link member (330) (e.g., rotate counterclockwise while the electronic device (100) changes from an open state to a folded state, and rotate clockwise while the electronic device (100) changes from a folded state to an open state). Accordingly, the eighth axis (718) can be a moving axis that moves counterclockwise or clockwise in response to the movement of the third link member (330).

[0108] According to one embodiment, the first axis (711) and the fifth axis (715) may be positioned together on a first xy plane that is parallel to the display (160), the second axis (712) and the sixth axis (716) may be positioned together on a second xy plane that is parallel to the display (160) and different from the first xy plane, and the fourth axis (714) and the eighth axis (718) may be positioned together on a third xy plane that is parallel to the display (160) and different from the second xy plane. Accordingly, when viewed with respect to the z-axis, the first axis (711) and the fifth axis (715) may be formed at different positions from the second axis (712) and the sixth axis (716), and the fourth axis (714) and the eighth axis (718) may be formed at different positions from the first axis (711) and the fifth axis (715) and the second axis (712) and the sixth axis (716).

[0109] FIG. 8 is a diagram showing an example of a state of a hinge structure and a state of support members that support each of an arm member and a rotation member in an unfolded state of an electronic device according to one embodiment. In FIG. 8, drawing 801 is a diagram showing an example of a first support member and a third support member that support the arm members when the electronic device is in an unfolded state, and drawing 802 is a diagram showing an example of a second support member and a fourth support member that support the rotation members when the electronic device is in an unfolded state.

[0110] Referring to FIGS. 1 to 8, in order to switch the state of the electronic device, a user may apply an external force to the electronic device. The external force may be transmitted to the first link member (310), the second link member (320), the third link member (330), and the fourth link member (340) through the first housing (110) and the second housing (120). The external force transmitted to the first link member (310), the second link member (320), the third link member (330), and the fourth link member (340) can be transmitted to the rails (e.g., the third rail (311), the third rail (311), the fifth rail (331), the fourth rail (321)) of each of the first link member (310), the second link member (320), the third link member (330), and the fourth link member (340), and to the rail structures (e.g., the fifth rail structure (411), the second rail structure (212), the sixth rail structure (421), the fourth rail structure (222)) connected to each rail through a virtual axis (e.g., the second axis (712), the fourth axis (714), the sixth axis (716), and the eighth axis (718)). In addition, the external force can be transmitted to the shaft rotating around the third axis (713) that is coupled through the fourth axis (714) and the first link member (310), and the seventh axis (717) that is coupled through the eighth axis (178) and the fourth link member (340). Due to this external force, the gap between at least one of the plurality of rail structures included in the hinge structure and the rail that rotates around the rail structure and the rotational axis can be changed. In addition, the gap between the rail structure and the rail that rotates around the rotational axis can also be changed due to assembly deviation or driving deviation. In one embodiment, a plurality of support members (510, 520, 530, 540) may be included in order to reduce the folding flow due to the gap flowing between the rails and the rail structures.

[0111] A plurality of support members (510, 520, 530, 540) can close the rail structure (212, 222) of the rotating member (210, 220) and the rail (321, 341) of the link member (320, 340), and close the rail structure (411, 421) of the arm member (410, 420) and the rail (311, 331) of the link member (310, 330), thereby eliminating or reducing the gap flow that occurs between the rails and the rail structures. Accordingly, the seesaw flow of the arm member (410, 420) that occurs as much as the gap flow can be supplemented, thereby reducing or eliminating the folding flow caused by the gap flow.

[0112] According to one embodiment, when the electronic device (100) is in an open state, the first link member (310) connected to the first arm member (410) comes into contact with the first support member (510), so that the first support member (510) can support the first link member (310). For example, at least a portion of the first contact portion (511) of the first support member (510) can come into contact with the fifth rail structure (411), so as to support the fifth rail structure (411). The first point of action (P1) of the support force that supports the fifth rail structure (411) can be located at the fifth rail structure (411) that comes into contact with the first contact portion (511). When the fifth rail structure (411) and the first contact portion (511) come into contact, a force in a direction (F11) substantially perpendicular to the first contact portion (511) may be applied to the fifth rail structure (411). At this time, a first horizontal component of the force applied to the fifth rail structure (411) may be a first horizontal direction (H1) that is parallel to one surface of the first wing plate (131) and faces the center of the electronic device (the ear gears (433, 434), or the third link member (330)). The first horizontal direction (H1) may face in a negative direction with respect to a first reference axis (RX11) that is perpendicular to the first wing plate (131) (or the first region (161) of the display (160), or the first housing (110)).

[0113] When the electronic device (100) is in an open state, the second link member (320) connected to the first rotating member (210) comes into contact with the second supporting member (520), so that the second supporting member (520) can support the second link member (320). For example, at least a portion of the second contact portion (521) of the second supporting member (520) can come into contact with the second rail structure (212), so as to support the second rail structure (212). The second point of action (P2) of the supporting force that supports the second rail structure (212) can be located at the second rail structure (212) that comes into contact with the second contact portion (521). When the second rail structure (212) and the second contact portion (521) come into contact, a force in a direction (F12) substantially perpendicular to the second contact portion (521) may be applied to the second rail structure (212). At this time, a second horizontal component of the force applied to the second rail structure (212) may be a second horizontal direction (H2) that is parallel to one surface of the first wing plate (131) (or the first area (161) of the display (160)) and is the opposite direction to the first horizontal direction (H1). The second horizontal direction (H2) may be directed in a positive direction with respect to the first reference axis (RX11) that is perpendicular to the first wing plate (131) (or the first area (161) of the display (160) or the first housing (110).

[0114] When the electronic device (100) is in an open state, the direction (F11) of the force applied to the fifth rail structure (411) and the direction (F12) of the force applied to the second rail structure (212) may be arranged to be staggered with respect to the first reference axis (RX11). The first arm member (410) including the fifth rail structure (411) may be strongly pressed against the third rail (311) of the first link member (310) by the first support member (510). A rail gap (or assembly gap, or driving gap) between the first arm member (410) (e.g., the fifth rail structure (411) of the first arm member (410)) and the first link member (310) (e.g., the third rail (311) of the first link member (310)) may be eliminated or reduced. A first rotation member (210) including a second rail structure (212) can be brought into close contact with a fourth rail (321) of a second link member (320) by a second support member (520). The gap flow between the first rotation member (210) and the second link member (320) can be eliminated or reduced. Accordingly, the folding flow caused by the gap flow can be reduced or eliminated. In addition, since the direction (F11) of the force applied to the fifth rail structure (411) and the direction (F12) of the force applied to the second rail structure (212) are arranged to be staggered with respect to the first reference axis (RX11), the seesaw flow of the first arm member (410) caused by the gap flow can be supplemented. Meanwhile, the (strong) adhesion formed between the first object (e.g., the first arm member (410)) and the second object (e.g., the third rail (311)) may mean that at least a part of the first object and at least a part of the second object are in face-to-face contact.

[0115] When the electronic device (100) is in an open state, the third link member (330) connected to the second arm member (420) comes into contact with the third support member (530), so that the third support member (530) can support the third link member (330). For example, at least a portion of the third contact portion (531) of the third support member (530) can come into contact with the sixth rail structure (421), so as to support the sixth rail structure (421). The third point of action (P3) of the supporting force that supports the sixth rail structure (421) can be located at the sixth rail structure (421) that comes into contact with the third contact portion (531). When the sixth rail structure (421) and the third contact portion (531) come into contact, a force in a direction (F13) substantially perpendicular to the third contact portion (531) may be applied to the sixth rail structure (421). At this time, a third horizontal component (H3) of the force applied to the sixth rail structure (421) may be a third horizontal direction (H3) that is parallel to one side of the second wing plate (132) (or the second area (162) of the display (160)) and faces the center of the electronic device (the ear gears (433, 434), or the first link member (310)). The third horizontal direction (H3) may be directed in a positive direction with respect to the second reference axis (RX12) that is perpendicular to the second wing plate (132) (or the second area (162) of the display (160), or the second housing (120)). The second reference axis (RX12) can be formed parallel to the first reference axis (RX11).

[0116] When the electronic device (100) is in an open state, the fourth link member (340) connected to the second rotation member (220) comes into contact with the fourth support member (540), so that the fourth support member (540) can support the fourth link member (340). For example, at least a portion of the fourth contact portion (541) of the fourth support member (540) can come into contact with the fourth rotation rail structure (222), so as to support the fourth rotation rail structure (222). The fourth point of action (P4) of the supporting force that supports the fourth rotation rail structure (222) can be located at the fourth rotation rail structure (222) that comes into contact with the fourth contact portion (541). When the fourth rotation rail structure (222) and the fourth contact portion (541) come into contact, a force in a direction (F14) substantially perpendicular to the fourth contact portion (541) may be applied to the fourth rotation rail structure (222). At this time, a fourth horizontal component (H4) of the force applied to the fourth rotation rail structure (222) may be a fourth horizontal direction (H4) that is parallel to the second wing plate (132) (or the second area (162) of the display (160)) and opposite to the third horizontal direction (H3). The fourth horizontal direction (H4) may be directed in a negative direction with respect to the second reference axis (RX12) perpendicular to the second wing plate (132) (or the second area (162) of the display (160) or the second housing (120).

[0117] When the electronic device (100) is in an open state, the direction (F3) of the force applied to the sixth rail structure (421) and the direction (F4) of the force applied to the fourth rotational rail structure (222) may be arranged to be staggered with respect to the second reference axis (RX2). The second arm member (420) including the sixth rail structure (421) may be strongly pressed against the fifth rail (331) of the third link member (330) by the third support member (530). The gap flow between the second arm member (420) (e.g., the sixth rail structure (421) of the second arm member) and the second link member (320) (e.g., the fourth rail (321) of the second link member) may be eliminated or reduced. The second rotation member (220) including the fourth rotation rail structure (222) can be strongly pressed against the sixth rail (341) of the fourth link member (340) by the fourth support member (540). The gap flow between the second rotation member (220) and the fourth link member (340) can be eliminated or reduced. Accordingly, the folding flow caused by the gap flow can be reduced or eliminated. In addition, since the direction (F3) of the force applied to the sixth rail structure (421) and the direction (F4) of the force applied to the fourth rotation rail structure (222) are arranged to be staggered with respect to the second reference axis (RX2), the seesaw flow of the second arm member (420) caused by the gap flow can be supplemented.

[0118] FIG. 9 is a diagram illustrating an example of a state of a hinge structure and a state of support members that support each of an arm member and a rotation member in an intermediate state between a folded state and a closed state of an electronic device according to an embodiment. In FIG. 9, drawing 901 is a diagram illustrating an example of a first support member and a third support member that support the arm members when the electronic device is in the intermediate state, and drawing 902 is a diagram illustrating an example of a second support member and a fourth support member that support the rotation members when the electronic device is in the intermediate state. The intermediate state of the electronic device may be a state between a (substantially) unfolded state and a (substantially) folded state.

[0119] Referring to FIGS. 1 to 9, the electronic device (100) may be arranged in an intermediate state. When the electronic device (100) is in the intermediate state, one side of the first wing plate (131) (e.g., the side on which the first area (161) of the display (160) is mounted) and one side of the second wing plate (132) (e.g., the side on which the second area (162) of the display (160) is mounted) may be arranged at a predetermined angle to each other. One side of the first area (101) of the display (160) and one side of the second area (102) may form an angle that is greater than the folded state and less than the unfolded state.

[0120] When the electronic device (100) is in an intermediate state, the first link member (310) and the second link member (320) fixed to the first housing (110) may be arranged symmetrically with respect to the center of the electronic device (e.g., the folding portion of the display (160) or the space between the first wing plate (131) and the second wing plate (132)) with respect to the third link member (330) and the fourth link member (340). When the electronic device (100) is in an intermediate state, the distance between the end of the first link member (310) (or the second link member (320)) in the x-axis direction and the end of the third link member (330) (or the fourth link member (340)) in the -x-axis direction may form a second distance (or a distance smaller than the first distance).

[0121] When the electronic device (100) is in an intermediate state, the direction (F21) of the force applied to the fifth rail structure (411) by the first support member (510) and the direction (F22) of the force applied to the second rail structure (212) by the second support member (520) may be arranged to be staggered with respect to the first reference axis (RX21). The direction (F23) of the force applied to the sixth rail structure (421) by the third support member (530) and the direction (F24) of the force applied to the fourth rotational rail structure (222) by the fourth support member (540) may be arranged to be staggered with respect to the second reference axis (RX22).

[0122] When the electronic device (100) is in an intermediate state, a force in a direction (F21) substantially perpendicular to the first contact portion (511) of the first support member (510) may be applied to the fifth rail structure (411). A force in a direction (F21) between the x-axis and the z-axis toward the second wing plate (132) disposed on the second arm member (420) may be applied to the fifth rail structure (411). When the electronic device (100) is in a folded state (intermediate), a force in a direction (F22) substantially perpendicular to the second contact portion (521) of the second support member (520) may be applied to the second rail structure (212). A force in a direction (F22) close to the z-axis may be applied to the second rail structure (212) while being opposite to the direction (F31) of the force applied to the fifth rail structure (411).

[0123] When the electronic device (100) is in an intermediate state, a force in a direction (F23) substantially perpendicular to the third contact portion (531) of the third support member (530) may be applied to the sixth rail structure (421). A force in a direction (F23) between the -x-axis and the z-axis toward the first wing plate (131) disposed on the first arm member (410) may be applied to the sixth rail structure (421). When the electronic device (100) is in a folded state (closed), a force in a direction (F24) substantially perpendicular to the fourth contact portion (541) of the fourth support member (540) may be applied to the fourth rotational rail structure (222). A force in a direction (F24) close to the z-axis may be applied to the fourth rotational rail structure (222) while being opposite to the direction (F33) of the force applied to the sixth rail structure (421).

[0124] When the electronic device (100) is in an intermediate state, the first arm member (410) including the fifth rail structure (411) can be strongly pressed against the third rail (311) of the first link member (310) by the first support member (510). A rail gap (or gap, or driving gap) between the first arm member (410) (e.g., the fifth rail structure (411) of the first arm member (410)) and the first link member (310) (e.g., the third rail (311) of the first link member (310)) can be eliminated or reduced. The first rotation member (210) including the second rail structure (212) can be strongly pressed against the fourth rail (321) of the second link member (320) by the second support member (520). The gap flow between the first rotating member (210) and the second link member (320) can be eliminated or reduced. Accordingly, the seesaw flow of the first arm member (410) that occurs as much as the gap flow can be supplemented, thereby reducing or eliminating the folding flow caused by the gap flow.

[0125] When the electronic device (100) is in an intermediate state, the second arm member (420) including the sixth rail structure (421) can be strongly pressed against the fifth rail (331) of the third link member (330) by the third support member (530). A rail gap (or gap, or driving gap) between the second arm member (420) (e.g., the sixth rail structure (421) of the second arm member) and the second link member (320) (e.g., the fourth rail (321) of the second link member) can be eliminated or reduced. The second rotation member (220) including the fourth rotation rail structure (222) can be strongly pressed against the sixth rail (341) of the fourth link member (340) by the fourth support member (540). A gap flow between the second rotation member (220) and the fourth link member (340) can be eliminated or reduced. Accordingly, the seesaw flow of the second arm member (420) that occurs as much as the gap flow can be supplemented, thereby reducing or eliminating the folding flow caused by the gap flow.

[0126] FIG. 10 is a diagram showing an example of a state of a hinge structure and a state of support members that support each of an arm member and a rotation member in a folded state of an electronic device according to one embodiment. In FIG. 10, drawing 1001 is a diagram showing an example of a first support member and a third support member that support the arm members when the electronic device is in a folded state, and drawing 1002 is a diagram showing an example of a second support member and a fourth support member that support the rotation members when the electronic device is in a folded state.

[0127] Referring to FIGS. 1 to 10, the electronic device (100) may be arranged in a folded state (closed). When the electronic device (100) is in a folded state (closed), one side of the first wing plate (131) (e.g., the side on which the first area (161) of the display (160) is mounted) and one side of the second wing plate (132) (e.g., the side on which the second area (162) of the display (160) is mounted) may be arranged to face each other. A convex portion of the third area (163) (or folding area) arranged between the first area (161) and the second area (162) of the display (160) may be arranged to face the -z-axis direction.

[0128] When the electronic device (100) is in a folded state (closed), the first link member (310) and the second link member (320) fixed to the first housing (110) may be arranged symmetrically with respect to the center of the electronic device (e.g., the foldable portion of the display (160), or the space between the first wing plate (131) and the second wing plate (132), or the center bar) with respect to the third link member (330) and the fourth link member (340). When the electronic device (100) is in a folded state (closed), the distance between the end of the first link member (310) (or the second link member (320)) in the x-axis direction and the end of the third link member (330) (or the fourth link member (340)) in the -x-axis direction may form a third distance (or a minimum distance, or a distance smaller than the first distance and the second distance).

[0129] When the electronic device (100) is in a folded state (closed), the direction (F31) of the force applied to the fifth rail structure (411) by the first support member (510) and the direction (F32) of the force applied to the second rail structure (212) by the second support member (520) may be arranged to be staggered with respect to the first reference axis (RX31). The direction (F23) of the force applied to the sixth rail structure (421) by the third support member (530) and the direction (F24) of the force applied to the fourth rotational rail structure (222) by the fourth support member (540) may be arranged to be staggered with respect to the second reference axis (RX32).

[0130] When the electronic device (100) is in a folded state (closed), a force in a direction (F31) substantially perpendicular to the first contact portion (511) of the first support member (510) may be applied to the fifth rail structure (411). A force in a direction (F31) between the x-axis and the -z-axis toward the second wing plate (132) disposed on the second arm member (420) may be applied to the fifth rail structure (411). When the electronic device (100) is in a folded state (closed), a force in a direction (F32) substantially perpendicular to the second contact portion (521) of the second support member (520) may be applied to the second rail structure (212). A force in a direction (F32) between the x-axis and the z-axis may be applied to the second rail structure (212) while being alternately oriented with the direction (F31) of the force applied to the fifth rail structure (411).

[0131] When the electronic device (100) is in a folded state (closed), a force in a direction (F33) substantially perpendicular to the third contact portion (531) of the third support member (530) may be applied to the sixth rail structure (421). A force in a direction (F33) between the -x-axis and the -z-axis toward the first wing plate (131) disposed on the first arm member (410) may be applied to the sixth rail structure (421). When the electronic device (100) is in a folded state (closed), a force in a direction (F34) substantially perpendicular to the fourth contact portion (541) of the fourth support member (540) may be applied to the fourth rotational rail structure (222). A force in a direction (F34) between the x-axis and the z-axis may be applied to the fourth rotational rail structure (222) while being alternately oriented with the direction (F33) of the force applied to the sixth rail structure (421).

[0132] When the electronic device (100) is in a folded state (closed), the first arm member (410) including the fifth rail structure (411) can be strongly pressed against the third rail (311) of the first link member (310) by the first support member (510). Accordingly, the folding flow caused by the gap flow can be reduced or eliminated.

[0133] When the electronic device (100) is in a folded state (closed), the second arm member (420) including the sixth rail structure (421) can be strongly pressed against the fifth rail (331) of the third link member (330) by the third support member (530). Accordingly, the seesaw flow of the second arm member (420) that occurs as much as the gap flow can be supplemented, thereby reducing or eliminating the folding flow due to the rail gap.
