[0063] The above drawings illustrate specific embodiments of the present application, which will be described in more detail below. These drawings and the textual description are not intended to limit the scope of the present application in any way, but rather to illustrate the concepts of the present application to those skilled in the art by reference to specific embodiments. DETAILED DESCRIPTION
[0064] In order to make the objectives, technical solutions and advantages of this application clearer, the implementation methods of this application will be further described in detail below with reference to the accompanying drawings.
[0065] FIG1 is a schematic structural diagram of a current display panel, which includes a base substrate 11 , a thin film transistor (TFT) 12 located on the base substrate 11 , a first structure layer 14 , and a light-emitting unit 15 .
[0066] The thin film transistor 12 includes a source electrode 121 , a drain electrode 122 , a gate electrode 123 and an active layer 124 . The first structure layer 14 may include a plurality of protruding structures 141 (such as convex lenses). The light-emitting unit 15 may include an anode 151 , an electroluminescent layer 152 and a cathode 152 .
[0067] Due to the presence of multiple protruding structures 141 in the first structural layer 14, the surface of the first structural layer 14 in contact with the anode 151 (the upper surface of the first structural layer 14 in FIG1 ) is uneven, and the height difference between the apex of the protruding structure 141 and the recess between the protruding structures 141 may be large, resulting in poor flatness of the various film layers formed on the first structural layer 14 and the possibility of breakage, which in turn leads to various pixel defects, such as uneven brightness and failure to emit light normally. For example, the anode 151 formed directly on the first structural layer 14 may break due to the sharpness of some protruding structures 141, thereby causing the light-emitting unit 15 to fail to emit light normally. In addition, the thickness of the electroluminescent layer 152 subsequently formed on the anode 151 will also vary greatly in different areas, and the brightness of the thicker area may be lower, or the thicker area may not be driven to emit light, affecting the aperture ratio of the display panel. These situations will affect the display effect of the display panel.
[0068] The embodiments of the present application provide a display panel, a method for manufacturing a display panel, and a display device, which can solve some problems existing in the above-mentioned related technologies.
[0069] FIG2 is a schematic structural diagram of a display panel provided in an embodiment of the present application, and FIG3 is a schematic cross-sectional structural diagram of the display panel shown in FIG2 ( FIG3 may be a schematic cross-sectional structural diagram of the display panel 20 shown in FIG2 at AA). Referring to FIG2 and FIG3 , the display panel includes:
[0070] Base substrate 21 .
[0071] The circuit structure layer 22 is located on the base substrate 21 .
[0072] The first structure layer 23 is located on a side of the circuit structure layer 22 away from the base substrate 21 . The first structure layer 23 includes a plurality of first structures 231 arranged in an array. The plurality of first structures 231 include at least one of a protruding structure and a recessed structure.
[0073] The second structure layer 24 is located on a side of the first structure layer 23 away from the base substrate 21 .
[0074] The light-emitting unit 25 includes a first electrode 251 and an electroluminescent layer 252 stacked on the second structure layer 24 along a direction f1 away from the second structure layer 24. The first electrode 251 is electrically connected to the circuit structure layer 22. The surface of the second structure layer 24 close to the first structure layer 23 is consistent with the morphology of the side of the first structure layer 23 away from the base substrate 21. The refractive index of the second structure layer 24 is greater than the refractive index of the first structure layer 23, and is less than or equal to the refractive index of the first electrode 251.
[0075] The refractive index of the second structure layer 24 is greater than that of the first structure layer 23. Consequently, light with an exit angle that is too large (greater than the critical angle of the interface between the second structure layer 24 and the first structure layer 23) will be totally reflected at the interface between the second structure layer 24 and the first structure layer 23, preventing this portion of light from directly exiting the display panel. This achieves a light filtering function, filtering out light with an exit angle less than the critical angle and allowing this portion of light to exit the display panel. In addition, when the refractive index of the second structure layer 24 is less than that of the first electrode 251, it can also perform a filtering function, filtering light from the first electrode 251 to the second structure layer 24. When the refractive index of the second structure layer 24 is equal to the refractive index of the first electrode 251, light can be directly emitted from the first electrode 251 to the second structure layer 24.
[0076] The display panel provided in the embodiment of the present application may be a bottom-emitting display panel, that is, light is emitted from the substrate (base plate) side of the display panel.
[0077] In addition, the light-emitting unit 25 may further include a second electrode 253, wherein one of the first electrode 251 and the second electrode 253 is an anode and the other electrode is a cathode. For example, the first electrode 251 may be an anode and the second electrode 253 may be a cathode. The electroluminescent layer 252 may emit light when driven by the first electrode 251 and the second electrode 253.
[0078] It should be noted that the protruding structure involved in the embodiment of the present application may refer to a structure that is protruding in a direction away from the base substrate, and the concave structure involved in the embodiment of the present application may refer to a structure that is concave in a direction toward the base substrate.
[0079] To sum up, the display panel provided by the embodiment of the present application, by setting a second structural layer on a first structural layer having a first structure, the first electrode in the light-emitting unit and the electroluminescent layer can be sequentially set on the second structural layer of the structure. Since the refractive index of the second structural layer is greater than the refractive index of the first structural layer and less than or equal to the refractive index of the first electrode, the second structural layer can guide the light irradiated into the first electrode out of the first electrode and emit it to the first structural layer through the second structural layer, so that the first structure on the first structural layer processes the light to improve the light extraction efficiency, and thus the uniformity of the thickness of the electroluminescent layer can be improved without reducing the light extraction efficiency, thereby solving the problem of poor display effect of the display panel caused by the uneven thickness of the electroluminescent layer in the related art, and improving the display effect of the display panel.
[0080] In the display panel provided in the embodiments of the present application, the first structural layer is a structure for improving the light extraction efficiency of the display panel. The first structural layer can also be called a microlens structure. The microlens structure is a structure that can improve the light extraction efficiency of the display panel. The microlens structure is widely used in various devices with display functions. The light extraction efficiency involved in the embodiments of the present application can be related to the amount of light emitted by the electroluminescent layer when it is driven and can be emitted from the display panel. The greater the amount of light emitted, the higher the surface light extraction efficiency. When the light extraction efficiency of the display panel is improved, the brightness of the display panel and the display effect will also be improved.
[0081] FIG4 is a schematic diagram of the structure of another display panel provided in an embodiment of the present application, and FIG5 is a schematic diagram of the top view of the first structural layer in the display panel shown in FIG4 . Referring to FIG4 and FIG5 , the first structural layer 23 may include a plurality of raised structures 2311 arranged in an array. The raised structures 2311 may include at least one of convex lenses, triangular raised structures, columnar raised structures, and trapezoidal raised structures. FIG4 illustrates the structure when the raised structures 2311 are convex lenses, but this embodiment of the present application is not limited thereto.
[0082] In an exemplary embodiment, the distance s between the centers z1 (center z1 may be the geometric center or center of gravity of the first structure 231) of two adjacent first structures 231 in the first structure layer 23 is 1 / 2 of the height difference Δh in the first structure layer 23, where the height difference Δh is the maximum distance between two positions on the first structure layer 23 in the direction f1 perpendicular to the base substrate 21. When the first structure layer 23 meets such conditions, the effect of the first structure layer 23 on the light extraction efficiency can be enhanced, thereby achieving the effect of improving the light extraction efficiency of the display panel. It should be noted that the size ratios between the various structures in FIG4 are only for the purpose of schematically illustrating the structures and do not represent the actual size ratios between the various structures.
[0083] In the first structural layer of the display panel provided in the embodiment of the present application, when the first structural layer 23 includes only the protruding structure 2311 (this structure is shown in Figure 4), the maximum distance (height difference △h) between two positions on the first structural layer 23 may refer to the distance in the direction f1 between the top of the protruding structure 2311 (the top of the protruding structure 2311 may refer to the point where the protruding structure 2311 is farthest from the substrate 21 in the direction f1 perpendicular to the substrate 21) and the bottom of the pit between the protruding structures 2311 (the bottom may refer to the point closest to the substrate 21 in the direction f1 perpendicular to the substrate 21).
[0084] In an exemplary embodiment, the morphology of the surface of the first electrode 251 away from the base substrate 21 (the upper surface of the first electrode 251 in Figure 4) is consistent with the morphology of the surface of the second structure layer 24 close to the first electrode 251 (the upper surface of the second structure layer 24 in Figure 4), and the surface of the second structure layer 24 close to the first electrode 251 (the upper surface of the second structure layer 24 in Figure 4) is a flat surface (Figure 4 shows this structure. Under this structure, the second structure layer 24 is equivalent to being reused as a flat layer. The flat surface may not be absolutely flat, but may be approximately flat). Under this structure, the second structure layer 24 can avoid the concave and convex morphology on the first structure layer 23 from affecting the morphology of the first electrode 251, so that the first electrode 251 can be formed on the second structure layer 24 with a flat surface. Of course, in another exemplary embodiment, the morphology of the surface of the second structural layer close to the first electrode and the surface of the first structural layer close to the second structural layer are concave and convex. Due to the second structural layer, the degree of concave and convexity of the concave and convex surface (the degree of concave and convexity can be determined by the difference between the thickness at the thickest position of the film layer and the thickness at the thinnest position) will be smaller than the degree of concave and convexity on the first structural layer. In this way, the influence of the concave and convex morphology on the first structural layer 23 on the morphology of the first electrode 251 can be reduced.
[0085] As shown in Figure 6, Figure 6 is a structural schematic diagram of another display panel provided by an embodiment of the present application, wherein, when the waveguide layer 23 includes only a recessed structure 2312, the maximum distance between two positions on the first structure layer 23 can refer to the bottom of the recessed structure 2312 (the bottom of the recessed structure 2312 can refer to the point closest to the substrate 21 in the direction f1 perpendicular to the substrate 21) and the position between the recessed structures (the position between the recessed structures can refer to the position of the point farthest from the substrate 21 in the direction f1 perpendicular to the substrate 21).
[0086] As shown in FIG7 , FIG7 is a schematic diagram of the structure of another display panel provided by an embodiment of the present application. When the waveguide layer 23 includes a protruding structure 2311 and a recessed structure 2312, the maximum distance between two locations on the first structure layer 23 can be the distance between the top of the protruding structure 2311 and the bottom of the recessed structure 2312 in the direction f1. Furthermore, in this structure, the protruding structures 2311 and the recessed structures 2312 can be arranged at intervals in the first structure layer 23, and the first structure 231 adjacent to the protruding structure 2311 can be the recessed structure 2312.
[0087] In addition, please refer to Figure 4. The display panel may also include some other structures. For example, the display panel may also include a first structure layer 26, a pixel definition layer 27, a second structure layer 28 and an encapsulation layer 29. The first structure layer 26 is located between the circuit structure layer 22 and the first structure layer 23. Since the circuit structure layer 22 may have large step differences in different areas, the first structure layer 26 can provide a structural forming surface for the upper film layer structure (such as the first structure layer 23) to expand the positive impact of the first structure layer 23 on the light extraction efficiency. The pixel defining layer (PDL) 27 can be located between the second structure layer 24 and the electroluminescent layer 252. Specifically, the pixel defining layer 27 can have multiple openings k. The electroluminescent layer 252 can at least cover the openings k. The second electrode 253 can cover the electroluminescent layer 252. Then, the electroluminescent layer 252 located in the openings k can contact the first electrode 251 and the second electrode 252. The second electrode 252 and the first electrode 251 can drive the electroluminescent layer 252 located in the opening area of the pixel defining layer 27 to emit light. The second structure layer 28 can be located above the second electrode 253 to provide a structured forming surface for subsequent film layers (such as the encapsulation layer 29). For example, the second structure layer 28 can structure the step difference caused by the openings k on the pixel defining layer 27. The encapsulation layer 29 is located on the side of the second structure layer 27 away from the base substrate 21 and is used to encapsulate various devices in the display panel to protect the various devices in the display panel. In the embodiment of the present application, the first electrode 251 may be made of a transparent conductive material, such as indium tin oxide (ITO), with a refractive index of 1.8. The refractive index of the second structure layer 24 may be equal to that of the first electrode 251 .
[0088] In the display panel provided by the embodiment of the present application, the orthographic projection of the first electrode 251 on the base substrate 21 can overlap with the orthographic projection of the light extraction structure 231 on the base substrate 21, so as to improve the light extraction efficiency of the light emitted directly downward from the electroluminescent layer 252. In addition, the orthographic projection of the pixel defining layer 27 on the base substrate 21 overlaps with the orthographic projection of the light extraction structure 231 on the base substrate 21, that is, the light extraction structure 231 can also be arranged below the pixel defining layer 27, so as to improve the light extraction efficiency of the light emitted obliquely downward from the electroluminescent layer 252. It should be noted that in the embodiment of the present application, the first structure 231 in the first structural layer 23 can be strip-shaped, and multiple first structures 231 can be arranged along the direction f2 perpendicular to the length direction of the first structure 231 (Figure 5 shows this structure, and the embodiment of the present application is not limited to this). The above-mentioned two adjacent first structures 231 can refer to two first structures 231 adjacent in the direction f2. Under this structure, the distance between any two adjacent first structures 231 can be equal or unequal.
[0089] In an exemplary embodiment, please refer to Figure 8, which is a top-down structural schematic diagram of another first structural layer in the display panel provided in an embodiment of the present application, wherein the first structures 231 in the first structural layer 23 can be arranged in rows and columns (the row and column arrangement can refer to the first structures 231 being arranged in multiple rows and columns). The above-mentioned two adjacent first structures 231 can refer to two adjacent first structures 231 in the same row, or can refer to two adjacent first structures 231 in the same column. Under this structure, each first structure 231 can have four adjacent first structures 231 in the upper, lower, left and right directions. The distance between the first structure 231 and each adjacent first structure 231 can be equal or unequal, and the distance between different first structures 231 and adjacent first structures 231 can also be equal or unequal.
[0090] Please refer to Figure 9, which is a schematic top view of another first structural layer in a display panel provided in an embodiment of the present application, wherein the first structures 231 in the first structural layer 23 can be arranged in multiple rows, and the first structures 231 in two adjacent rows are arranged in a staggered manner. In this structure, the two adjacent first structures 231 can refer to two adjacent ones in a row, or two adjacent ones diagonally upward. That is, for each first structure 231 (except the first structures 231 located at the edge), there can be two first structures 231 adjacent to each other in the row, and four first structures 231 adjacent to each other diagonally upward (these four first structures 231 can be the first structure 231 located at the upper left, the first structure 231 located at the lower left, the first structure 231 located at the upper right, and the first structure 231 located at the lower right), for a total of six adjacent first structures 231. In this structure, the distance between a first structure 231 and each adjacent first structure 231 can be equal or unequal.
[0091] In an exemplary embodiment, referring to FIG4 , in a direction f1 perpendicular to the base substrate 21, the height difference Δh in the first structure layer 23 is equal to the minimum distance s2 between the first structure 231 and the first electrode 251 in the first structure layer 23. When the first structure layer 23 meets this condition, the effect of the first structure layer 23 on light extraction efficiency can be enhanced, thereby improving the light extraction efficiency of the display panel. For example, the height difference Δh can range from 0.2 microns to 1.5 microns.
[0092] It should be noted that, when the first structure layer 23 includes only the protruding structure 2311, the minimum distance between the first structure 231 in the first structure layer 23 and the first electrode 251 may be the distance between the top of the protruding structure 2311 and the first electrode 251 in the direction f1 perpendicular to the base substrate 21; as shown in FIG7 , when the first structure layer 23 includes the protruding structure 2311 and the recessed structure 2312, the minimum distance between the first structure 231 in the first structure layer 23 and the first electrode 251 may be the distance between the top of the protruding structure 2311 and the first electrode 251 in the direction f1 perpendicular to the base substrate 21; The distance from the first electrode 251 in the direction f1 perpendicular to the base substrate 21; as shown in Figure 6, when the first structure layer 23 only includes the recessed structure 2312, the minimum distance between the first structure 231 in the first structure layer 23 and the first electrode 251 can be the distance between the position between adjacent recessed structures 2312 (the position between the recessed structures can refer to the position of the point farthest from the base substrate 21 in the direction f1 perpendicular to the base substrate 21) and the first electrode 251 in the direction f1 perpendicular to the base substrate 21.
[0093] In an exemplary embodiment, the thickness of the first structural layer 23 is equal to the thickness of the second structural layer 24. For example, the thickness of the first structural layer 23 and the thickness of the second structural layer 24 can both be 1 micron to 2 microns. For example, the thickness of the first structural layer 23 and the thickness of the second structural layer 24 can both be 1.5 microns. It should be noted that since the first structural layer 23 and the second structural layer 24 are both uneven film layers, in an exemplary embodiment, the thickness of the first structural layer 23 and the second structural layer 24 can refer to the average thickness. For example, the structural thickness can be the average of the maximum thickness and the minimum thickness of the film layer (the first structural layer 23 and the second structural layer 24), wherein the maximum thickness can be the maximum thickness at the convex structure and the minimum thickness can be the minimum thickness in the concave structure. Of course, the thickness of the first structural layer 23 and the second structural layer 24 can also refer to the maximum thickness or the minimum thickness, and the embodiment of the present application is not limited to this.
[0094] In an exemplary embodiment, the material of the first structural layer 23 includes an acrylic material added with photosensitive groups, catalytic groups, surfactants, etc. Of course, the material of the first structural layer 23 can also be other photoresist materials, and the embodiment of the present application is not limited to this.
[0095] The refractive index of the first structure layer 23 is lower than the refractive index of the second structure layer 24 . For example, the refractive index of the first structure layer 23 may be less than or equal to 1.5. For example, the refractive index of the first structure layer 23 may be 1.5.
[0096] When the material of the first structural layer 23 includes a photoresist material, a protruding structure and / or a recessed structure on the first structural layer 23 can be formed by an exposure and development process. Of course, the protruding structure and / or the recessed structure can also be formed by some other processes. For example, the protruding structure and / or the recessed structure can be formed by a thermal reflow process and a nanoimprinting process. The embodiments of the present application do not limit this.
[0097] In addition, in the first structural layer 23 of the display panel provided in the embodiment of the present application, the slope angle range of the convex structure and the concave structure can be 30 degrees to 60 degrees. In this way, the convex structure and the concave structure can be prevented from being too tilted or too structured, so as to enhance the positive effect of the first structural layer 23 on the light extraction efficiency, thereby enhancing the overall light extraction efficiency of the display panel. In the case where the first structure is a convex lens or a concave lens, the above-mentioned slope angle range can refer to the slope angle of the middle part lens of the convex lens or the concave lens, and the middle part lens can refer to a part between the top and the bottom of the convex lens or the concave lens. For example, the convex lens or the concave lens can include three parts of equal height in the height direction, and the part in the middle can be the above-mentioned middle part lens.
[0098] The raised structure 2311 shown in Figure 4 is a schematic structural diagram including a convex lens, but in the display panel provided in the embodiment of the present application, the raised structure 2311 may also include other types of raised structures. In an exemplary embodiment, the raised structure 2311 includes at least one of a convex lens, a triangular raised structure, a columnar raised structure, and a trapezoidal raised structure.
[0099] For example, as shown in FIG10 , FIG10 is a schematic structural diagram of another display panel provided in an embodiment of the present application, wherein the protrusion structure 2311 in the first structural layer 23 includes a triangular protrusion structure, and these multiple triangular protrusion structures can also achieve the effect of improving the light extraction efficiency.
[0100] In addition, the display panel may also include other structures. For example, the display panel may also include a first structure layer 26, a pixel definition layer 27, a second structure layer 28, and an encapsulation layer 29. The first structure layer 26 is located between the circuit structure layer 22 and the first structure layer 23. Since the step difference between different regions of the circuit structure layer 22 may be large, the first structure layer 26 can provide a structural formation surface for the upper film structure (such as the first structure layer 23) to expand the positive effect of the first structure layer 23 on the light extraction efficiency. The pixel definition layer 27 can be located between the second structure layer 24 and the electroluminescent layer 252. Specifically, the pixel definition layer 27 can have a plurality of openings k. The electroluminescent layer 252 can at least cover the openings k. The second electrode 253 can cover the electroluminescent layer 252. The electroluminescent layer 252 located in the openings k can contact the first electrode 251 and the second electrode 252. The second electrode 252 and the first electrode 251 can drive the electroluminescent layer 252 located in the opening area of the pixel definition layer 27 to emit light. The second structure layer 28 may be located above the second electrode 253 and is used to provide a structured formation surface for subsequent film layers (such as the encapsulation layer 29). For example, the second structure layer 28 may structure the step caused by the opening k in the pixel definition layer 27. The encapsulation layer 29 is located on the side of the second structure layer 27 away from the base substrate 21 and is used to encapsulate and protect various devices in the display panel.
[0101] Optionally, the circuit structure layer 22 may include a thin film transistor (TFT) 221. The thin film transistor 221 includes a first electrode j1, a second electrode j2, and a gate g. The gate g is used to control the on / off of the first electrode j1 and the second electrode j2. The first electrode j1 is connected to the first electrode 251 of the light-emitting unit 25 (the first electrode 251 can be connected to the first electrode j through vias on multiple film layers between the first electrode 251 and the thin film transistor 221). In addition, the circuit structure layer 22 may also include an active layer y1 and a gate insulating layer gi. The gate g, the gate insulating layer gi, and the active layer y1 may be sequentially disposed on the base substrate 21. The first electrode j1 and the second electrode j2 are both in contact with the active layer y1. The gate g can be used to control the active layer y1 to achieve the function of controlling the on / off of the first electrode j1 and the second electrode j2. Among them, one of the first electrode j1 and the second electrode j2 is a source electrode, and the other is a drain electrode. The second electrode j2 can also be connected to other circuits. The embodiments of the present application are not further described here.
[0102] Optionally, the electroluminescent layer 252 is a white electroluminescent layer for emitting white light. The display panel further includes a color filter layer cf, which is located between the first structural layer 23 and the base substrate 21. The orthographic projection of the white electroluminescent layer 252 on the base substrate 21 overlaps with the orthographic projection of the color filter layer cf on the base substrate 21. That is, the light-emitting unit may be a white organic light-emitting diode (WOLED), which can emit white light when driven and cooperate with the color filter layer to emit light of various colors. Exemplarily, the display panel may include a plurality of pixels arranged in an array, each pixel structure includes three sub-pixels, each sub-pixel may include a light-emitting unit and a color filter layer, and the three sub-pixels in a pixel may be a red sub-pixel, a blue sub-pixel, and a green sub-pixel, respectively. The red sub-pixel may include a white light-emitting unit and a red color filter layer, the blue sub-pixel may include a white light-emitting unit and a blue color filter layer, and the green sub-pixel may include a white light-emitting unit and a green color filter layer. Of course, in an exemplary embodiment, a pixel in the display panel may further include four sub-pixels, which may include the above-mentioned red sub-pixel, blue sub-pixel, and green sub-pixel, and may also include a white sub-pixel. The white sub-pixel may include only a white light-emitting unit without a color filter layer, or may include a transparent color filter layer.
[0103] Of course, in the display panel provided in the embodiment of the present application, the light-emitting unit may also be a red, green, and blue light-emitting unit, that is, the display panel may include a plurality of pixels arranged in an array, each pixel structure includes three sub-pixels, and the three sub-pixels in a pixel may be a red sub-pixel, a blue sub-pixel, and a green sub-pixel, respectively. The red sub-pixel may include a red light-emitting unit for emitting red light, a blue light-emitting unit for emitting blue light, and a green light-emitting unit for emitting green light. Of course, such a display panel may also include various color resistors, such as a red color filter layer in a red sub-pixel to improve the purity of the red light emitted by the red sub-pixel, a blue color filter layer in a blue sub-pixel to improve the purity of the blue light emitted by the blue sub-pixel, and a green color filter layer in a green sub-pixel to improve the purity of the green light emitted by the green sub-pixel.
[0104] As shown in Figure 11, Figure 11 is a structural schematic diagram of another display panel provided in an embodiment of the present application, wherein the protrusion structure 2311 in the first structural layer 23 includes a columnar protrusion structure. These multiple columnar protrusion structures can also achieve the effect of improving the light extraction efficiency. The top view of these multiple columnar protrusions can refer to Figure 5 (Figure 5 shows that the columnar protrusions can be strip-shaped), Figure 8 or Figure 9 above, and the embodiments of the present application will not be repeated here. In addition, the display panel shown in Figure 11 can also include some other structures, and reference can be made to the embodiment shown in Figure 10. The embodiments of the present application will not be repeated here.
[0105] As shown in Figure 12, Figure 12 is a structural schematic diagram of another display panel provided in an embodiment of the present application, wherein the protrusion structure 2311 in the first structural layer 23 includes a trapezoidal protrusion structure. These multiple trapezoidal protrusion structures can also achieve the effect of improving the light extraction efficiency. The top view of these multiple columnar protrusions can refer to Figure 5 (Figure 5 shows that the protrusions may be long strips of trapezoidal protrusions), Figure 8 or Figure 9, and the embodiments of the present application will not be repeated here. In addition, the display panel shown in Figure 12 may also include some other structures. These structures can refer to the embodiment shown in Figure 10, and the embodiments of the present application will not be repeated here.
[0106] In the display panel provided by the embodiment of the present application, when the first structural layer 23 includes a recessed structure, the recessed structure can have a variety of structures. For example, please refer to Figure 13, which is a structural schematic diagram of another display panel provided by the embodiment of the present application, wherein the recessed structure 2312 in the first structural layer 23 includes a concave lens. These multiple concave lenses can also achieve the effect of improving the light extraction efficiency. The top view of these multiple concave lenses can refer to Figure 5 (Figure 5 shows a long strip of concave lens), Figure 8 or Figure 9, and the embodiments of the present application will not be repeated here. In addition, the display panel shown in Figure 13 can also include some other structures. These structures can refer to the embodiment shown in Figure 10, and the embodiments of the present application will not be repeated here.
[0107] Please refer to Figure 14, which is a schematic diagram of the structure of another display panel provided in an embodiment of the present application, wherein the recessed structure 2312 in the first structural layer 23 includes a triangular recessed structure. These multiple triangular recessed structures can also achieve the effect of improving the light extraction efficiency. The top view of these multiple triangular recessed structures can refer to Figure 5 (Figure 5 shows a long triangular recessed structure), Figure 8 or Figure 9, and the embodiments of the present application will not be repeated here. In addition, the display panel shown in Figure 14 can also include some other structures. These structures can refer to the embodiment shown in Figure 10, and the embodiments of the present application will not be repeated here.
[0108] Please refer to Figure 15, which is a structural schematic diagram of another display panel provided in an embodiment of the present application, wherein the recessed structure 2312 in the first structural layer 23 includes a trapezoidal recessed structure. These multiple trapezoidal recessed structures can also achieve the effect of improving the light extraction efficiency. The top view of these multiple trapezoidal recessed structures can refer to Figure 5 (Figure 5 shows a long strip of trapezoidal recessed structure), Figure 8 or Figure 9, and the embodiments of the present application will not be repeated here. In addition, the display panel shown in Figure 15 can also include some other structures, which can refer to the embodiment shown in Figure 10, and the embodiments of the present application will not be repeated here.
[0109] The above embodiments provide various recessed and raised structures within the first structural layer 23. The first structural layer 23 of the display panel provided in the present application may include at least one of these various structures. Furthermore, the second structural layer 24, on the side facing the first structural layer 23, may have a shape complementary to the multiple first structures on the first structural layer 23.
[0110] FIG16 is a schematic diagram of the structure of another display panel provided by an embodiment of the present application, in which the second structural layer 24 includes multiple stacked sub-film layers 241. The refractive index of each of the multiple sub-film layers 241 is positively correlated with a first distance s1, which is the distance between each sub-film layer 241 and the first structural layer 23 in a direction perpendicular to the base substrate 21. In other words, the refractive index of the multiple sub-film layers 241 included in the second structural layer 24 gradually increases in a direction away from the first structural layer 23. This structure of the second structural layer 24 can further improve the light extraction efficiency of the light from the first electrode 251, thereby improving the overall light extraction efficiency of the display panel.
[0111] In an exemplary embodiment, the multiple sub-membrane layers 241 include a first sub-membrane layer 241a adjacent to the first structural layer 23 and a second sub-membrane layer 241b adjacent to the first electrode 251, that is, the first sub-membrane layer 241a is the bottom layer among the multiple sub-membrane layers 241 (the sub-membrane layer closest to the base substrate 21), and the second sub-membrane layer 241b is the top layer among the multiple sub-membrane layers 241 (the sub-membrane layer farthest from the base substrate 21).
[0112] Among them, the refractive index of the first sub-film layer 241a is greater than the refractive index of the first structural layer 23, and the refractive index of the second sub-film layer 241b is less than or equal to the refractive index of the first electrode 251. Under such a structure, since the refractive index of the multiple sub-film layers 241 gradually increases in the direction away from the first structural layer 23, the first sub-film layer 241a is the sub-film layer with the smallest refractive index among the multiple sub-film layers 241 of the second structural layer 24, and the second sub-film layer 241b is the sub-film layer with the largest refractive index among the multiple sub-film layers 241 of the second structural layer 24. Moreover, the refractive index of the first sub-film layer 241a with the smallest refractive index among the multiple sub-film layers 241 of the second structural layer 24 is greater than the refractive index of the first structural layer 23. Therefore, the first sub-film layer 241a can filter the light emitted from the first sub-film layer 241a to the first structural layer 23. The first structure layer 23 is selected to prevent light with too large an exit angle from being emitted to the first structure layer 23, and the refractive index of the second sub-film layer 241b with the largest refractive index among the multiple sub-film layers 241 of the second structure layer 24 is less than or equal to the refractive index of the first electrode 251. In this way, the second sub-film layer 241b can also filter the light in the first electrode 251 that is emitted to the second sub-film layer 241b when the refractive index is less than the refractive index of the first electrode 251, so as to prevent light with too large an exit angle from being emitted to the second sub-film layer 241b, and facilitate the light in the first electrode 251 to enter the second sub-film layer 241b when the refractive index is equal to the refractive index of the first electrode 251.
[0113] In addition, based on the refractive index range of the first sub-film layer 241a and the refractive index range of the second sub-film layer 241b, the refractive index range of the multiple sub-film layers 241 of the second structural layer 24 is determined, that is, the refractive index of the sub-film layer located between the first sub-film layer 241a and the second sub-film layer 241b can be greater than or equal to the refractive index of the first sub-film layer 241a, and less than or equal to the refractive index of the second sub-film layer 241b.
[0114] In an exemplary embodiment, the multiple sub-film layers also include a third sub-film layer 241c located between the first sub-film layer 241a and the second sub-film layer 241b. The refractive index range of the first sub-film layer 241a is (1.5 to 1.6], the refractive index range of the third sub-film layer 241c is (1.6 to 1.7], and the refractive index range of the second sub-film layer 241b is (1.7, 1.8]. After testing, when the refractive index range of the first sub-film layer 241a, the second sub-film layer 241b and the third sub-film layer 241c meet the refractive index range, the light extraction efficiency of the structure composed of the second structural layer 24 and the first structural layer 23 can be improved, thereby improving the overall light extraction efficiency of the display panel, thereby improving the brightness and display effect of the display panel.
[0115] Of course, the second structural layer 24 can also include more sub-film layers. Exemplarily, the multiple sub-film layers also include multiple stacked fourth sub-film layers located between the first sub-film layer 241a and the second sub-film layer 241b. The refractive index of the multiple fourth sub-film layers is smaller than the refractive index of the second sub-film layer 241b, greater than the refractive index of the first sub-film layer 241a, and gradually increases in the direction away from the first structural layer 23.
[0116] In an exemplary embodiment, the plurality of sub-film layers are an integrated structure, that is, the second structural layer 24 including the plurality of sub-film layers is actually a film layer, and the different thickness intervals in the film layer are different sub-film layers. For example, starting from the side of the second structural layer 24 close to the first structural layer, 0 microns to Micrometer is the first sub-film layer 241a, Micrometer to Micrometer is the third sub-film layer 241c, The second sub-film layer 241 b is from micrometers to x micrometers, where x is the thickness of the second structural layer 24 .
[0117] The second structural layer 24 of the integrated structure can be formed in a single process. For example, the second structural layer 24 may include a base layer and particles doped in the base layer. When forming the second structural layer 24, particles of different diameters may be doped. Due to different weights, particles of different diameters will flow and be located at different heights in the base layer. In this way, a structure with different refractive indices in different thickness ranges in a film layer can be achieved.
[0118] Of course, the second structural layer 24 including multiple sub-film layers can also be multiple film layers formed separately, and can be formed separately through multiple processes. The embodiment of the present application is not limited to this.
[0119] In an exemplary embodiment, each of the plurality of sub-layers 241 includes a base layer and particles doped in the base layer. The concentration range of the particles in the plurality of sub-layers 241 is positively correlated with the first distance s1. That is, the higher the particle concentration, the greater the refractive index of the sub-layer 241.
[0120] For example, the second structural layer 24 may include a first sub-layer, a third sub-layer, a fourth sub-layer, and a second sub-layer stacked sequentially away from the first structural layer. Starting from the first structural layer, in the thickness direction of the second structural layer 24, the first sub-layer has a particle concentration range of 10% to 20% within the first sub-layer; the third sub-layer has a particle concentration range of 20% to 50% within the third sub-layer; the fourth sub-layer has a particle concentration range of 30% to 40% within the fourth sub-layer; the second sub-layer has a particle concentration range of 100% to 300% within the second sub-layer; and the second sub-layer has a particle concentration range of 40% to 50% within the second sub-layer. It should be noted that since the second structural layer 24 has a protrusion or depression that complements the shape of the first structure 231 on the first structural layer 23, the starting position of the first sub-layer may refer to the position of greatest thickness or the position of least thickness on the side of the second structural layer 24 that contacts the first structural layer 23.
[0121] Optionally, the base layer material includes polymethyl methacrylate, polyimide-based materials, or epoxy resin-based materials, and the particles include at least one of zirconium oxide and titanium oxide. Of course, the base layer material and the particle material of the second structural layer can also be other materials, and this embodiment of the application is not limited thereto.
[0122] To sum up, the display panel provided by the embodiment of the present application, by setting a second structural layer on a first structural layer having a first structure, the first electrode in the light-emitting unit and the electroluminescent layer can be sequentially set on the second structural layer of the structure.
[0123] FIG17 is a flow chart of a method for manufacturing a display panel provided in an embodiment of the present application, the method comprising:
[0124] Step 1701: Obtain a base substrate.
[0125] Step 1702: forming a circuit structure layer on the base substrate.
[0126] Step 1703: forming a first structure layer on a side of the circuit structure layer away from the base substrate, wherein the first structure layer includes a plurality of first structures arranged in an array, and the plurality of first structures include at least one of a protruding structure and a recessed structure.
[0127] Step 1704: forming a second structure layer on a side of the first structure layer away from the base substrate.
[0128] Step 1705 : forming a light-emitting unit on the second structure layer, the light-emitting unit including a first electrode and an electroluminescent layer stacked on the second structure layer in a direction away from the second structure layer, the refractive index of the second structure layer being greater than the refractive index of the first structure layer.
[0129] The surface of the second structure layer close to the first structure layer has the same morphology as the surface of the first structure layer away from the base substrate.
[0130] To summarize, the manufacturing method of the display panel provided in the embodiment of the present application forms a second structural layer on a first structural layer having a first structure, and the first electrode and the electroluminescent layer in the light-emitting unit can be sequentially arranged on the second structural layer of the structure. Since the refractive index of the second structural layer is greater than the refractive index of the first structural layer and is less than or equal to the refractive index of the first electrode, the second structural layer can guide the light irradiated into the first electrode out of the first electrode and emit it to the first structural layer through the second structural layer, so that the first structure on the first structural layer processes the light to improve the light extraction efficiency, and thus the uniformity of the thickness of the electroluminescent layer can be improved without reducing the light extraction efficiency, thereby solving the problem of poor display effect of the display panel caused by the uneven thickness of the electroluminescent layer in the related art and improving the display effect of the display panel.
[0131] FIG18 is a flow chart of another method for manufacturing a display panel provided in an embodiment of the present application, the method comprising:
[0132] Step 1801: Obtain a base substrate.
[0133] The display panel provided in the embodiment of the present application can be a bottom-emitting type, that is, light is emitted from one side of the base substrate of the display panel, and the base substrate can be a light-transmitting base substrate. Exemplarily, the material of the base substrate can include optical glass.
[0134] Step 1802: forming a circuit structure layer on the base substrate.
[0135] The circuit structure layer can be formed on the substrate by multiple patterning processes. The patterning process involved in the embodiment of the present application can include steps such as coating photoresist, exposure, development, etching, and stripping the photoresist.
[0136] Referring to FIG. 10 , the circuit structure layer 22 may include a thin film transistor 221. The thin film transistor 221 includes a first electrode j1, a second electrode j2, an active layer y1, and a gate g. The gate g is used to control the on / off state of the first electrode j1 and the second electrode j2. The first electrode j1 is connected to the first electrode 251 of the light-emitting unit 25 (the first electrode 251 may be connected to the first electrode j through vias on multiple film layers between the first electrode 251 and the thin film transistor 221). Furthermore, the circuit structure layer 22 also includes a gate insulating layer gi. The gate g, the gate insulating layer gi, and the active layer y1 may be sequentially disposed on the base substrate 21. The first electrode j1 and the second electrode j2 are both in contact with the active layer y1. The gate g may be used to control the active layer y1 to achieve the function of controlling the on / off state of the first electrode j1 and the second electrode j2. One of the first electrode j1 and the second electrode j2 is a source electrode, and the other is a drain electrode. The first electrode j1 and the second electrode j2 may be co-layered and formed in a single patterning process.
[0137] Step 1803: forming a first structure layer on a side of the circuit structure layer away from the base substrate.
[0138] The first structure layer includes a plurality of first structures arranged in an array, wherein the plurality of first structures include at least one of a convex structure and a concave structure. The first structure can refer to the above embodiment, and the embodiment of the present application will not be described in detail here.
[0139] Step 1804 : forming a plurality of stacked sub-film layers on a side of the first structural layer away from the base substrate.
[0140] These multiple sub-layers constitute the second structural layer, and the refractive index of each of these sub-layers is positively correlated with the first distance, which is the distance between each sub-layer and the first structural layer in a direction perpendicular to the substrate. In other words, the refractive index of the multiple sub-layers included in the second structural layer gradually increases as they move away from the first structural layer. This structure of the second structural layer can further improve the light extraction efficiency of light from the first electrode, thereby improving the overall light extraction efficiency of the display panel.
[0141] In an embodiment of the present application, multiple stacked sub-film layers can be formed separately through multiple patterning processes, or the multiple stacked sub-film layers can also be a film layer of an integrated structure, and the second structural layer of the integrated structure can be formed in one process. Exemplarily, the second structural layer can include a base layer and particles doped in the base layer. When forming the second structural layer, particles of different diameters can be doped. Due to different weights, particles of different diameters will flow and be located at different heights in the base layer. In this way, a structure with different refractive indices in different thickness ranges in a film layer can be achieved.
[0142] Step 1805: forming a light-emitting unit on the second structural layer.
[0143] The light-emitting unit includes a first electrode and an electroluminescent layer stacked on the second structure layer in a direction away from the second structure layer.
[0144] Among them, the multiple sub-membrane layers in the second structural layer include a first sub-membrane layer adjacent to the first structural layer and a second sub-membrane layer adjacent to the first electrode, that is, the first sub-membrane layer is the lowest layer among the multiple sub-membrane layers (the sub-membrane layer closest to the base substrate), and the second sub-membrane layer is the highest layer among the multiple sub-membrane layers (the sub-membrane layer farthest from the base substrate).
[0145] Wherein, the refractive index of the first sub-film layer is greater than the refractive index of the first structural layer, and the refractive index of the second sub-film layer is less than or equal to the refractive index of the first electrode. Under such a structure, the first sub-film layer is the sub-film layer with the smallest refractive index among the multiple sub-film layers of the second structural layer, and the second sub-film layer is the sub-film layer with the largest refractive index among the multiple sub-film layers of the second structural layer, and the refractive index of the first sub-film layer with the smallest refractive index among the multiple sub-film layers of the second structural layer is greater than the refractive index of the first structural layer, so that the first sub-film layer can filter the light emitted from the first sub-film layer to the first structural layer to prevent the light with too large an exit angle from being emitted to the first structural layer, and the refractive index of the second sub-film layer with the largest refractive index among the multiple sub-film layers of the second structural layer is less than or equal to the refractive index of the first electrode, so that the second sub-film layer can also filter the light emitted from the first electrode to the second sub-film layer when the refractive index is less than the refractive index of the first electrode to prevent the light with too large an exit angle from being emitted to the second sub-film layer, and when the refractive index is equal to the refractive index of the first electrode, it is convenient for the light in the first electrode to be emitted into the second sub-film layer.
[0146] In summary, the manufacturing method of the display panel provided in the embodiment of the present application forms a second structural layer on a first structural layer having a first structure, and the first electrode and the electroluminescent layer in the light-emitting unit can be sequentially arranged on the second structural layer of the structure. Since the refractive index of the second structural layer is greater than the refractive index of the first structural layer and less than or equal to the refractive index of the first electrode, the second structural layer can guide the light irradiated into the first electrode out of the first electrode and emit it to the first structural layer through the second structural layer, so that the first structure on the first structural layer processes the light to improve the light extraction efficiency, and thus the flatness of the first electrode and the electroluminescent layer can be improved through the second structural layer without reducing the light extraction efficiency, and thus the uniformity of the thickness of the electroluminescent layer can be improved, thereby solving the problem of poor display effect of the display panel caused by the uneven thickness of the electroluminescent layer in the related art, and improving the display effect of the display panel.
