Abstract

The present invention relates to an anatomical bra formed by two cups for supporting the breast, straps and a transition piece that joins the cups and runs transversely across the user's back. Each bra cup is formed by a convex receptacle that defines at least 5 / 8 of a sphere, reproducing the anatomical shape of the breast, while the transition piece is laterally joined to each cup by the upper central region thereof. The anatomical bra thus eliminates chest compression, owing to the absence of a lower strap, and allows almost complete freedom of movement and respiratory amplitude, thereby providing a feeling of comfort, secure attachment and stability of the breast.

[0001]

[0002] Anatomical bra

[0003] OBJECT OF THE INVENTION

[0004] The present invention relates to a bra consisting of two cups that reproduce the anatomical shape of the breasts and comfortably support them. The shape of the cups consists of a convex basin defined by 5 / 8 of a sphere, which redistributes the weight of the breasts and supports them solely through the straps. This, in turn, makes it possible to eliminate the lower strap, which is always present in known bras and which encircles and tightens the wearer's chest.

[0005] Thus, the object of the present invention is the elimination of chest compression by the lower strap, freedom of movement and breathing amplitude.

[0006] BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION

[0007] Bras come in a wide variety of shapes and sizes, but choosing them is often complicated and not always satisfactory. For example, athletic women typically have large chests but often small breasts. For them, choosing a bra size becomes a difficult task, since in the lingerie industry, a bra designed for a large chest often has large cups.

[0008] On the other hand, short women with large breasts find that large-cup bras do not provide adequate support at the lower band, as they are designed for a wider chest.

[0009] On the other hand, absolutely every type of bra tends to severely restrict freedom of movement. Feelings of tightness in the chest, the inability to breathe deeply, or stretching to relieve back pain are familiar to all women.

[0010] The cause of the aforementioned problems is the fact that the weight of the breasts in most conventional models is supported by the lower strap that surrounds the chest. This strap can have fasteners located either in the back, in the back area, or in the front, in the chest area. This strap can also be elastic, without fasteners.

[0011] However, in any case, the shape of the cups in most known models determines the distribution of the weight of the breast in such a way that the main load always falls on the lower band that surrounds the ribcage.

[0012] Therefore, the strap around the ribcage must not be too loose or stretchy. Otherwise, the breasts will move out of the cups and slip into the space between the body and the strap.

[0013] This is precisely what happens in one of the cases described above, when a small chest is accompanied by large breasts. It's difficult to find a bra that has large cups and at the same time has little volume around the ribcage.

[0014] But even with a standard body shape—when it would seem that the bra's parameters correspond to the body's parameters—during intense activity, women often have to re-position their breasts in the bra cups.

[0015] This happens because the semi-spherical shape of the cups and the lower band that form the known bras do not provide perfect support, and always greatly restrict freedom of movement and breathing, being a problem that has not yet been solved.

[0016] The most common bra models are based on the same principle: semi-spherical cups that are attached to the lower band that tightly surrounds the ribcage.

[0017] For example, the variant described in patent no. US2926669 discloses the principle described above and corresponds to a bra with a front closure and adjustable straps. The model detailed in this patent document has a lower strap that surrounds the chest, tightening it, and includes hemispherical cups that do not contribute to secure support and stability. Patent no. US3430632 describes an elastic bra without accessories or closures, which is worn across the shoulders. In this bra, the main functional load falls equally on the lower strap, which strongly tightens the user's ribcage. Likewise, this document discloses hemispherical cups that do not provide adequate stability.

[0018] Patent document No. US3071,140 discloses a bra with straps that cross at the back. This model has a hemispherical cup shape, common in most models, so it cannot provide comfortable support suitable for daily or intensive movement.

[0019] Patent document No. US4174717 shows a sports bra, which includes no accessories and is made of elastic material. All seams are arranged externally, and the cups are hemispherical. It should be noted that the lower wraparound strap is quite wide, which can immobilize the chest during an intense run, for example, but at the same time prevents deep breathing. In fact, the chest of the wearer of this sports bra cannot expand to the maximum inspiratory volume due to the coverage of the lower strap.

[0020] In conclusion, known bras do not offer their wearer adequate distribution of the main load of the breast weight to enable the elimination of chest compression and complete freedom of movement accompanied by breast stability.

[0021] DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION

[0022] The present invention is intended to be used by women during any activity, including sports, since the bra of the invention significantly increases the feeling of comfort, freedom of movement and also contributes to the preservation of health, since it does not restrict physiological functions such as breathing and blood circulation.

[0023] This invention solves many problems associated with the complexity and, sometimes, impossibility of finding the perfect bra. Often, breast size does not match standard cup sizes. Other times, the underband size does not match industry-standard chest measurements. The anatomical bra of the invention provides the proper configuration to adapt to the natural anatomical shape of the female body, avoiding discomfort when wearing this underwear, such as squeezing, constant friction, itching, and limited movement and breathing. Additionally, the bra of the invention does not restrict natural physiological processes and contributes to the preservation of female health.

[0024] The anatomical bra of the invention consists of two cups to support the breasts, straps, and a transition piece that joins the cups laterally and runs transversely across the user's back. Thus, the essence of the invention lies in the configuration of the cups, since each cup is formed by a convex basin that defines at least 5 / 8 of a sphere, reproducing the anatomical shape of the breast. The purpose of this design is to support and fix the breasts at the same time.

[0025] Likewise, the anatomical bra of the present invention includes a transition piece connected to each cup at its upper middle region. This connection at this specific region makes it possible to avoid the use of a lower strap—of the kind commonly found in known bras—thus eliminating excessive compression of the mammary glands against the body. Thus, the present invention makes it possible to avoid breast deformation and to dispense with the lower strap, which hinders the wearer's breathing and blood circulation.

[0026] On the other hand, it should be noted that the proposed model provides for minimal use of accessories, and in sports activities there may be a complete absence of them.

[0027] It is also proposed to use elastic fabrics without internal seams to eliminate irritation and chafing.

[0028] Therefore, the anatomical shape of the cups of the anatomical bra of the present invention and, at the same time, the elimination of chest compression by the lower strap allow for almost absolute freedom of movement and breathing range, thus providing a sensation of comfort, secure fixation and stability of the chest. [0042] PREFERRED REALIZATION

[0043] Figure 1 schematically illustrates a sectional side view of a known bra including a hemispherical cup (10) common today. The auxiliary dotted line (5) indicates the approximate hemispherical boundary of the cup. This type of cup is widely used in virtually all modern bra designs.

[0044] The hemispherical cups (10) are usually attached to the lower strap (2), which tightly surrounds the lower chest, severely restricting freedom of movement and breathing.

[0045] As can be seen in Figure 1, the tape (2) creates the vectors of the load distribution and clamping forces, namely: the arrow (3) to define the force that runs from top to bottom and the arrow (4) that runs against the body.

[0046] The load distribution detailed in Figure 1 deforms the breasts, pressing them tightly against the user's chest. This ensures support stability, but chest freedom of movement is severely limited. This solution makes comfort and ease of use impossible.

[0047] Figure 2 shows a schematic side sectional view of the anatomical bra according to a preferred embodiment of the present invention. It can be seen that the anatomical cup (1) - unlike the hemispherical cup (10) in Figure 1 - has an additional volume (6), shaded in Figure 2, which prevents deformation of the breast and reproduces its natural shape.

[0048] Due to the additional volume (6), the anatomical cup (1) of the bra of the invention allows the breast to be held securely inside, making possible the absence of the strap that surrounds the thorax.

[0049] The distribution of the support forces (7) generated by the anatomical bra of the present invention changes completely. In this case, the straps (8) and the transition piece (9) pull the breast upwards naturally and do not press the breasts against the body.

[0050] Thus, in Figure 3 it can be seen that each cup of the known bra is defined by half a sphere, where the shaded portions correspond to half of the sphere.

[0051] However, as can be seen in Figure 4, each cup (1) of the anatomical bra of the present invention is made up of a convex basin that defines at least 5 / 8 of a sphere, reproducing the anatomical shape of the breast. This fact is corroborated by looking at the shaded portions in Figure 4, which correspond to 5 / 8 of a sphere.

[0052] Figure 5 shows a well-known bra that includes hemispherical cups (10), which are attached to the strap (2), the lower, less elastic part of which surrounds the chest. It can be seen that the user's lower ribs in this case have very limited movement, so full breathing is not possible.

[0053] Figure 6 shows the anatomical bra of the invention corresponding to its embodiment for daily use.

[0054] Unlike the model in Figure 5, the anatomical bra of the invention does not include a strap (2) that surrounds the lower ribs.

[0055] The additional volume (6) defined by the cup (1 ) of the anatomical bra of the invention allows the breast to be supported by its own weight within the cavity of the anatomical cup (1 ). As can be seen in Figure 6, the transition piece (9) is joined to each cup (1 ) by its upper middle region (11 ), having a smaller width since said transition piece (9) is only used as a link to the straps [(8), (8'), (8”)], such that the transition piece (9) provides additional holding forces (7) that lift the breasts without compression.

[0056] It should be noted that the transition piece (9) has a thickness such that it surrounds the middle part of the thorax and allows the lower ribs to be freed. That is, the transition piece (9) does not reach the lower ribs and, consequently, does not squeeze the thorax. Since the lower ribs are those most involved in breathing, it is concluded that the anatomical bra of the invention provides the user with almost total freedom of movement and breathing.

[0057] Preferably, the material of the transition piece (9) is an elastic material but with a lower density than the material that normally constitutes the tape (2) of the known fasteners, represented in figure 5.

[0058] Figure 7 shows the partial interior view of the preferred embodiment of the anatomical bra for daily use of the present invention, where it can be seen that the anatomical bra preferably has a front closure (17) that is arranged between the cups (1).

[0059] The additional volume (6) of the cups (1) ensures the necessary enlargement of the cavity, which completely follows the contour of the breast up to its junction with the body. The inner edge (18), which rests on the base of the user's breasts, reproduces the oval line of the base of the breasts.

[0060] The breasts fill the anatomical cup (1) without deformation or pressure against the body as occurs in bras known as the one represented in figure 1.

[0061] The inner edge (18) of the anatomical bra also fixes the breasts inside the bra during movement and does not allow their displacement. For example, this solution excludes situations where the breasts "slip" into the gap between the body and the lower strap (2) of known bras such as those in Figure 5. The transition piece (9) of the anatomical bra of the present invention begins at the place where the inner edge (18) of the additional volume (6) smoothly turns into the side part of the cup (1). For greater comfort of the user, it is recommended to use adjustment accessories (12) to adjust the length of the straps [(8), (8')].

[0062] Figure 8 shows a well-known sports bra, with a more closed front. This type of bra includes a lower band (2') that is much wider and denser than in common everyday models. The cups (10) also have an approximate hemispherical shape, consequently following the same principle of distribution of the load and support forces shown in Figure 1, where the arrow (3) appears to define the force that runs from top to bottom and the arrow (4) that runs against the body.

[0063] Figure 9 shows the sports version of the anatomical bra of the invention, which is more closed at the front and where the distribution vector of the clamping forces (7) is directed upwards. Therefore, a lower strap encircling the chest is not required.

[0064] The transition piece (9') is wider than in the everyday anatomical bra. The transition piece (9') is also attached to each cup (1 ) laterally at its upper middle region (11 ) and does not reach the lower ribs, thus promoting deep, full breathing during intense exercise. The inner edge (18) of the cups is located along the natural line under the breast and the additional volume (6) forms the necessary space for the breast to be securely held within this cavity and not "slip" between the bra and the body during active movement. To prevent chafing and discomfort during use, all seams (15) are arranged on the outside of the garment and accessories are completely absent.

[0065] Figure 10 shows a rear view of the anatomical bra of the invention for daily use, according to a first embodiment of strap arrangement. The reference line (16) indicates the approximate level that is located perpendicular to the spine in the middle of the shoulder blades where the connection point (13) of the straps (8) to the transition piece (9) is located. This can be done with a simple seam, preferably arranged on the outside of the garment. The proposed solution is not limiting. Figure 1 1 shows a rear view of the anatomical bra of the invention, according to a second embodiment of strap arrangement. The connection point (14) of each strap (8') is closer to the armpits. The transition piece (9) is also made of a medium-density elastic material and is not wide. Said transition piece (9) does not reach the lower ribs of the thorax, which tend to move more during breathing. This solution also provides maximum freedom of movement and breathing.

[0066] Figure 12 shows a rear view of the anatomical bra of the invention, according to a third embodiment of the arrangement of the straps for the sports bra. The straps (8”) in this embodiment can be made of a single piece of elastic fabric, the structure of which makes it possible to avoid mechanical processing of the edge. The straps (8”) in this embodiment are integral with the transition piece (9), which is connected to the cup (1) with a seam (15), as seen in Figure 9. Furthermore, there is no separating seam, as in the embodiment shown in Figure 10, between the transition piece (9) and the straps (8).
