Description

Fragrance sheet for aerosol-generating articles and method for manufacturing the same

[0001] The present invention relates to a fragrance sheet for an aerosol-generating article and a method for manufacturing the same.

[0002] To satisfy user preferences, aerosol-generating products are scented in a variety of ways. Typical examples of scenting include adding fragrance directly to aerosol-generating materials, such as sachets, or to filter plugs (e.g., spraying) (Korean Patent Publication No. 2010-0116791).

[0003] However, since flavoring agents have volatile properties, there is a problem in that the flavor of the cigarette continuously deteriorates as the flavoring agent is lost during the distribution and consumption period of the aerosol-generating product.

[0004] Meanwhile, natural fragrances tend to be more natural and flavorful than those made with chemical fragrances, making them more appealing to fragrance-lovers. Natural fragrances are extracted from natural sources through methods such as vacuum steam distillation and solvent extraction, and then applied to aerosol-generating products. However, applying these methods to aerosol-generating products is a complex process, and because the extraction method involves a concentration step, the fragrance may change during the additional extraction process.

[0005] The present invention aims to solve the above problems by providing a method for manufacturing a fragrance sheet for an aerosol-generating article, which is not difficult to process, can implement a fragrance close to natural, and can improve fragrance retention and durability.

[0006]

[0007] However, the problems to be solved by the present invention are not limited to those mentioned above, and other problems not mentioned will be clearly understood by those skilled in the art from the description below.

[0008] According to one embodiment of the present invention, there is provided a step (S1) of preparing an immersion solution by immersing a natural fragrance material in a plasticizer;

[0009] Step (S2) of preparing a solution by mixing hydrocolloid into the above immersion solution; and

[0010] A method for manufacturing a fragrance sheet for an aerosol-generating article is provided, comprising a step (S3) of manufacturing a sheet by casting and drying the above-mentioned liquid.

[0011]

[0012] According to another embodiment of the present invention, there is provided a fragrance sheet for an aerosol-generating article manufactured by a manufacturing method according to one embodiment of the present invention,

[0013] Contains natural fragrance ingredients, plasticizers, and hydrocolloids.

[0014] The above natural fragrance raw material is provided as a fragrance sheet for an aerosol-generating product in powder form.

[0015] By using the method for manufacturing a fragrance sheet for an aerosol-generating article of the present invention, the process can be simplified by directly manufacturing the sheet without a separate step for extracting the fragrance, and since expensive raw materials required for fragrance extraction are not used, the fragrance can be manufactured in a more economical manner, and the ease of manufacturing the crude liquid is excellent, so the fragrance sheet can be easily manufactured.

[0016] The fragrance sheet for an aerosol-generating article manufactured by the manufacturing method of the present invention does not undergo a process of concentrating through heating during fragrance extraction, and thus can implement a fragrance close to natural, and has excellent fragrance retention and durability.

[0017]

[0018] The effects of the present invention are not limited to the effects described above, and should be understood to include all effects that can be inferred from the detailed description of the present invention or the composition of the invention described in the claims.

[0019] Figure 1 is a flow chart of a method for manufacturing a fragrance sheet according to one embodiment of the present invention.

[0027]

[0028] Throughout the specification, the term "aerosol-generating article" may refer to an article capable of generating an aerosol. An aerosol-generating article may include an aerosol-generating material or an aerosol-forming substrate. Furthermore, an aerosol-generating article may include a solid material based on tobacco raw materials, such as tobacco leaf, cut tobacco, or reconstituted tobacco, or a non-tobacco material, or both. The aerosol-generating material may include a volatile compound.

[0029] Throughout the specification, 'upstream' or 'upstream direction' means the direction away from the mouth of a user using the aerosol-generating article, and 'downstream' or 'downstream direction' means the direction toward the mouth of a user using the aerosol-generating article.

[0030] Throughout the specification, 'fragrance sheet' may mean a fragrance-containing material manufactured in sheet form.

[0031]

[0032] According to one embodiment of the present invention, a method for manufacturing a fragrance sheet for an aerosol-generating article can be provided. The method for manufacturing a fragrance sheet for an aerosol-generating article can include a step (S1) of preparing an immersion solution by immersing a natural fragrance material in a plasticizer; a step (S2) of preparing a solution by mixing a hydrocolloid with the immersion solution; and a step (S3) of casting and drying the solution to manufacture a sheet (Fig. 1).

[0033]

[0034] Below, each step is explained in detail.

[0035] Step S1 is a step for preparing an immersion solution, which can be prepared by immersing a natural fragrance material in a plasticizer. The immersion solution can be left at 4 to 40°C for 12 to 50 hours, preferably 12 hours.

[0036] When extracting at a temperature higher than the numerical range described above, the steeping time may be shorter, and when extracting at a lower temperature, the steeping time may be longer. The steeping time and temperature may be optimized depending on the type and characteristics of the natural product to be extracted.

[0037] Natural fragrance ingredients are not limited to natural substances from which natural fragrances can be extracted.

[0038] Plasticizers may be used to extract and capture natural fragrances from natural fragrance materials. Furthermore, plasticizers may be added for the purpose of manufacturing sheet-form products.

[0039] To perform the above role, the content of the plasticizer added in step S1 may be 0.5 to 2 times the content of the natural fragrance material.

[0040]

[0041] Step S2 is a step for preparing a solution, which can be prepared by mixing a hydrocolloid with a previously prepared immersion solution and stirring. Specifically, step S2 may include a step (a1) of preparing a hydrocolloid solution; a step (a2) of mixing the hydrocolloid solution and the immersion solution to prepare a solution; and a step (a3) of allowing the solution to stand.

[0042] In step a1, the hydrocolloid may be a sheet-forming agent that forms a sheet and a material that coats and fixes the fragrance. The hydrocolloid may be prepared in a hydrocolloid solution state by dissolving it in a solvent. The hydrocolloid solution may further include a filler, which may be dextrin. In this case, the solvent may include at least one selected from the group consisting of water and alcohol.

[0043] In step a2, the solution can be prepared by mixing the previously prepared immersion solution and hydrocolloid solution and stirring sufficiently.

[0044] In step a3, the solution can be left for 20 to 30 hours. At this time, air bubbles generated during stirring of the solution can be removed.

[0045] The liquid may be in a liquid state or a mixed state of liquid and solid (e.g., slurry state).

[0046] At this time, the content of the immersion solution in the solution may be 2 to 30 wt%, preferably 10 to 15 wt%. Among these, the content of the natural fragrance ingredient may be 1 to 15 wt%, preferably 5 to 10 wt%, based on the total weight of the solution. The content of the plasticizer may be 1 to 15 wt%, preferably 5 to 10 wt%, based on the total weight of the solution. The weight ratio of the natural fragrance ingredient and the plasticizer may be 2:1 to 1:2.

[0047] Meanwhile, the content of the hydrocolloid solution in the solution may be 80 to 97 wt% relative to the total weight of the solution. Among these, the content of the hydrocolloid may be 5 to 10 wt% relative to the total weight of the solution. By adjusting the content of the immersion solution, the content of water may be adjusted to 60 to 80 wt%, preferably 65 to 75 wt%, relative to the total weight of the solution. Water may be a component for adjusting the viscosity of the solution.

[0048]

[0049] Step S3 may be a step for manufacturing a fragrance sheet. Specifically, step S3 may include a step (b1) in which a liquid is cast to a certain thickness; and a step (b2) in which the cast liquid is dried at 60 to 80° C.

[0050] In step b1, the liquid may be cast on a predetermined substrate, and the substrate may be, for example, a release film.

[0051] In step b2, the slurry can be dried, for example, at 60 to 70°C.

[0052]

[0053] According to another embodiment of the present invention, a fragrance sheet for an aerosol-generating article manufactured by the manufacturing method described above can be provided. Since the method for manufacturing a fragrance sheet for an aerosol-generating article according to one embodiment of the present invention does not include a step of concentrating by applying heat during fragrance extraction, the use of the fragrance sheet of the present invention can enable the implementation of a fragrance close to natural.

[0054] A fragrance sheet for an aerosol-generating article may contain natural fragrance ingredients, a plasticizer, a hydrocolloid, and moisture.

[0055] At this time, the natural fragrance ingredient may be in powder form. If the natural fragrance ingredient is in powder form, it can avoid the heating process required for vacuum distillation and solvent extraction, thereby retaining the inherent, unaltered fragrance of the natural ingredient. Furthermore, the final product can be manufactured so that the powdered fragrance ingredient is visible, providing visual satisfaction to the user.

[0056]

[0057] In the fragrance sheet for an aerosol-generating article according to one embodiment of the present invention, the natural fragrance raw material is not limited to a natural product, and may include, for example, at least one selected from the group consisting of menthol, licorice, sucrose, fructose syrup, isosweetener, cocoa, lavender, cinnamon, cardamom, celery, fenugreek, cascarilla, sandalwood, bergamot, geranium, honey essence, rose oil, vanilla, lemon oil, orange oil, mint oil, caraway, cognac, jasmine, cocoa butter, cinnamon, ylang-ylang, sage, spearmint, ginger, coriander, and coffee.

[0058]

[0059] In the fragrance sheet for an aerosol-generating article according to one embodiment of the present invention, the content of the natural fragrance material may be 10 to 40 wt%, preferably 13 to 37 wt%, based on the total weight of the fragrance sheet. If the content of the natural fragrance material is less than the numerical range described above, the fragrance expression intensity is low, making it difficult to provide satisfaction to the user. On the other hand, if the content of the natural fragrance material exceeds the numerical range described above, the quality of the fragrance sheet for an aerosol-generating article may be lowered due to the addition of less hydrocolloid and plasticizer.

[0060]

[0061] In a fragrance sheet for an aerosol-generating article according to one embodiment of the present invention, the plasticizer may be capable of extracting and capturing a natural fragrance from a natural fragrance raw material, and may serve to form a sheet shape. The plasticizer may include at least one selected from the group consisting of medium chain triglycerides (MCTG), polypropylene glycol (PG), and glycerin. Preferably, the plasticizer may be a medium chain triglyceride.

[0062]

[0063] In a fragrance sheet for an aerosol-generating article according to one embodiment of the present invention, the content of the plasticizer may be 10 to 40 wt%, preferably 13 to 37 wt%, based on the total weight of the fragrance sheet.

[0064] The content of the plasticizer may be 0.5 to 2 times that of the natural fragrance ingredient.

[0065] If the plasticizer content is below the above-described range, the fragrance may not be sufficiently captured, resulting in a low fragrance intensity after the fragrance sheet is manufactured, which may degrade the manufacturing quality of the aerosol-generating product. In addition, the flexibility of the sheet may be reduced, making the fragrance sheet easily breakable during the manufacturing process. On the other hand, if the plasticizer content exceeds the above-described range, it may be difficult to manufacture it in sheet form.

[0066]

[0067] In the fragrance sheet for an aerosol-generating article according to one embodiment of the present invention, the hydrocolloid may be a natural polymer material extracted from a natural substance or a natural polymer material processed from a natural substance extracted from a natural substance. For example, the hydrocolloid may include at least one selected from the group consisting of carrageenan, agar, gellan gum, pectin, guar gum, xanthan gum, tamarind gum, psyllium seed gum, xanthan gum, konjac glucomannan, starch, hydroxypropylmethyl cellulose (HPMC), methyl cellulose (MC), ethyl cellulose (EC), and carboxymethyl cellulose (CMC). The starch may include various raw materials and modified starch. Preferably, the hydrocolloid may be methyl cellulose.

[0068]

[0069] In a fragrance sheet for an aerosol-generating article according to one embodiment of the present invention, the content of the hydrocolloid may be 20 to 55 wt% based on the total weight of the fragrance sheet. If the content of the hydrocolloid is less than the above-described range, the sheet may not be formed properly. On the other hand, if the content of the hydrocolloid exceeds the above-described range, the intensity of the fragrance expressed may be lowered as the content of the natural fragrance ingredient and plasticizer decreases.

[0070] Meanwhile, preferably, the content of hydrocolloid to ensure that the fragrance sheet has appropriate tensile strength may be 25 to 40 wt%.

[0071]

[0072] In a fragrance sheet for an aerosol-generating article according to one embodiment of the present invention, the fragrance sheet for an aerosol-generating article may further include a filler, and the filler may be, for example, dextrin.

[0073] In a fragrance sheet for an aerosol-generating article according to one embodiment of the present invention, the content of the filler may be 5 to 15 wt%, preferably 7 to 10 wt%, relative to the total weight of the fragrance sheet.

[0074]

[0075] In the fragrance sheet for an aerosol-generating article according to one embodiment of the present invention, the term "for an aerosol-generating article" may mean that the fragrance sheet for an aerosol-generating article includes at least one selected from the group consisting of a medium portion, a filter portion, and a wrapper. That is, the aerosol-generating article can be scented using the fragrance sheet for an aerosol-generating article according to one embodiment of the present invention. Meanwhile, since the method for manufacturing the fragrance sheet includes a step of immersing a natural fragrance material in a plasticizer, the fragrance retention and durability can be improved compared to when using the fragrance liquid by spraying it.

[0076] At this time, the fragrance sheet for the aerosol-generating article may be applied to the aerosol-generating article by cutting, folding, or coating. For example, the fragrance sheet may be cut or folded and applied to the medium portion and / or filter portion of the aerosol-generating article. In the case of a wrapper, the fragrance sheet may be manufactured by combining it with wrapping paper, or may be manufactured through a coating process in which the liquid is directly cast onto wrapping paper and dried.

[0077]
