Abstract
Description
eye mask
[0001] The present invention relates to an eye mask. In particular, it relates to an eye mask that relieves fatigue in the wearer. This application claims priority to Japanese Patent Application No. 2023-133171, filed on August 17, 2023, the entire contents of which are incorporated herein by reference. This application also claims priority to International Patent Application PCT / JP2023 / 39165, filed on October 30, 2023, the entire contents of which are incorporated herein by reference.
[0002] Conventionally, eye masks have been proposed that incorporate tourmaline powder and generate far-infrared rays and negative ions to achieve relaxation and fatigue recovery effects. However, such eye masks have the drawback that, because the tourmaline powder is contained in a bag-shaped eye mask, the negative ions generated by the tourmaline are difficult to release to the outside of the eye mask, making the eye mask heavy (see Patent Document 1).
[0003] To address these drawbacks, an eye mask such as that shown in Patent Document 1 has been proposed. Specifically, the eye mask described in Patent Document 1 comprises an eye mask body incorporating far-infrared emitting ceramic plates positioned opposite both eyes, and a negative ion generating sheet detachably attached to the back of the eye mask body. The negative ion generating sheet is made of a thin, elastic, stretchable material and is molded by mixing mineral powder, which has a high negative ion generating efficiency. The eye mask described in Patent Document 2 relieves eye fatigue and improves the health of the eyes and the surrounding skin and tissue through the synergistic effect of the thermal effect of far-infrared rays and the negative ion effect.
[0004] Japanese Patent Application Laid-Open No. 2003-310654
[0005] The applicant of the present application took on the challenge of developing an eye mask that would relieve the wearer's fatigue by taking a different approach than simply placing tourmaline powder or a negative ion generating sheet around the eyes, and arrived at the present invention.

[0050] A preferred embodiment of the present invention will be described below with reference to the drawings. In the following drawings, for the sake of simplicity, components and parts that perform the same function are designated by the same reference numerals, and duplicate descriptions may be omitted or simplified. Furthermore, the dimensional relationships (length, width, thickness, etc.) in each drawing may not necessarily accurately reflect the actual dimensional relationships. However, in some drawings, the dimensional relationships are consistent, and in such cases, it is possible to derive a six-sided view from the dimensional and positional relationships in each drawing.
[0051] Furthermore, matters necessary for carrying out the present invention other than those specifically mentioned in this specification can be understood as design matters for a person skilled in the art based on the prior art in the relevant field. The present invention can be carried out based on the contents disclosed in this specification and drawings and the technical common sense in the relevant field. In addition, the present invention is not limited to the following embodiments.
[0052] Fig. 1 is a front perspective view showing the appearance of an eye mask 100 according to an embodiment of the present invention when worn. Fig. 2 is a rear perspective view showing the appearance of the eye mask 100 according to the embodiment when worn. Figs. 3 to 8 are a front view, a rear view, a top view, a bottom view, a right side view, and a left side view, respectively, of the eye mask 100 according to the embodiment. In addition, Fig. 9 is a perspective view for explaining the configuration of the mineral-containing portion 50 of the eye mask 100.
[0053] The eye mask 100 of this embodiment includes an eye mask main body 10 that covers the eyes, as shown in Fig. 1. The eye mask main body 10 has a mineral-containing portion 50 disposed therein, as shown in Fig. 9.
[0054] 1 and 2, the eye mask 100 of this embodiment is worn on the user's head 90. The eye mask main body 10 is composed of a front mask part 11 that covers the eyes (eye area) and side mask parts 12 that extend from the front mask part 11.
[0055] In the configuration of this embodiment, a region (front lower portion) 15 corresponding to the nose (around the top of the nose or the area from below the nose to above the lips) is provided at the bottom of the front mask portion 11. This region (front lower portion) 15 has a wire member (or a flexible linear member) provided inside (for example, inside the surface fabric member) of this region, improving the wearing comfort of the eye mask 100 of this embodiment. Note that this region (front lower portion) 15 does not necessarily have to be provided.
[0056] In the exemplary configuration of this embodiment, the rear mask portion 13 is located behind the side mask portions 12. The rear mask portion 13 is provided with attachment / securing members (16, 17), which allow the eye mask 100 to be wrapped around the head 90 and secured thereto. The attachment / securing members (16, 17) in this embodiment are hook-and-loop fasteners (or Velcro (product name)), which allow the eye mask 100 to be attached and detached. Other attachment / securing members may also be used, such as magnets (magnetic attachment / detachment members), zippers, buttons (including easy snap buttons), hooks, or detachable fitting members. The hook-and-loop fasteners (16, 17) are preferred attachment / securing members due to their simple structure and ease of use. The hook-and-loop fasteners (16, 17) allow for easy fastening and easy adjustment of the tightness, allowing the user to freely adjust the fit to their preference. In the illustrated example, a tension member (string) 18 is attached to the rear mask portion 13 to make it easier to put on the eye mask 100.
[0057] The height (H in FIG. 3 ) of the eye mask 100 of this embodiment is, for example, 120 mm (±30 mm), but is not limited to this value. The overall length (length when stretched out flat) of the eye mask 100 of this embodiment is, for example, 700 mm (±100 mm), but is not limited to this value. The diameter (diameter when made into a circle) of the eye mask 100 when fastened with the hook-and-loop fasteners (16, 17) and wrapped around the head 90 is, for example, 200 mm (±50 mm), but is not limited to this value. Specifically, the dimensions (height H, overall length, diameter) of the eye mask 100 can be designed and adopted as appropriate depending on the intended use, such as for adults or children.
[0058] As shown in Figures 3 to 8, the eye mask main body 10 of this embodiment is composed of a surface material portion 10a, a backing material portion 10b, and a boundary portion 10c between them. In this embodiment, the surface material portion 10a and the backing material portion 10b are made of the same material, i.e., a fabric member (e.g., a synthetic fiber fabric or a natural fiber fabric). The surface fabric of the eye mask main body 10 of this embodiment (the surface material portion 10a and the backing material portion 10b) may be a mesh-type fabric. Using such a mesh-type fabric can improve breathability and improve sleep comfort, especially in hot summer weather. However, a non-mesh type fabric may also be used as the surface fabric of the eye mask main body 10 of this embodiment.
[0059] In one example of this embodiment, the front surface material portion 10a and the back surface material portion 10b are made of synthetic fiber fabrics (e.g., nylon, polyurethane, or a mixture thereof), but may also be made of natural fiber fabrics (e.g., cotton, linen, silk, etc.). More specifically, the material (fabric) constituting the front surface portion (front surface material portion 10a and back surface material portion 10b) of the eye mask main body 10 can be a synthetic fiber material (e.g., nylon, polyurethane, etc.), a natural fiber material (e.g., cotton, silk, etc.), a blended synthetic fiber material (e.g., a blend of nylon and polyurethane), a blend of natural and synthetic fiber materials (e.g., a blend of cotton and polyurethane), or a blend of multiple types of materials (e.g., a natural fiber material (e.g., cotton) / nylon / polyurethane material, a rayon material / acrylic material / polyester material, or an acrylic material / polyester material / rayon material / polyurethane material, etc.).
[0060] The eye mask body 10 of this embodiment is provided with a light-blocking fabric and a cushioning material (e.g., a urethane cushion) inside (between the front material portion 10a and the back material portion 10b). In this configuration, the eye mask body 10 is provided with the light-blocking fabric, the cushioning material, and the mineral-containing portion 50 shown in FIG. 9 .
[0061] The mineral-containing portion 50 of this embodiment is composed of a front mineral pattern 51 that covers the area around the eyes when worn, and a side mineral pattern 52 that extends along the sides of the head (90) when worn. The front mineral pattern 51 is formed in the front mask portion 11 of the eye mask main body 10. The side mineral pattern 52 is formed in the side mask portion 12 of the eye mask main body 10.
[0062] The front mineral pattern 51 of this embodiment is composed of two openings 53 and a ring-shaped portion 54 located around the two openings 53. In this embodiment, the two openings 53 are eye-corresponding openings 53 corresponding to the eyes. In other words, the front mineral pattern 51 has two eye-corresponding openings 53 (corresponding to the right eye and the left eye). The eye-corresponding openings 53 are formed by a ring-shaped portion 54 that is made up of two quadrangular shapes (approximately diamond-shaped, approximately square-shaped) combined together to cover the eye-corresponding openings 53. In the illustrated example, the ring-shaped portion 54 has a figure-8 shape (approximately a figure-8 shape, a shape like the letter 8 turned sideways). In other words, the ring-shaped portion 54 has a figure-8 shape (approximately a figure-8 shape).
[0063] In the configuration of this embodiment, the eye mask 100 (eye mask main body 10) covers the eyes, so the two openings 53 serve as eye-corresponding openings 53, but since the figure-eight shape or the structure of the two openings 53 has meaning, the two openings 53 do not necessarily have to correspond to the right eye and left eye.
[0064] In one example of this embodiment, the annular portion 54 is configured by combining linear patterns 55 (strip portions 55a-f). Specifically, the annular portion 54 is formed by folding a single tape material (e.g., the tape material 20 shown in FIG. 10). The single tape material 20 constituting the annular portion 54 intersects at a point located in the center of the two openings 53 (i.e., the intersection of the strip portions 55a and 55b). In the illustrated example, the strip portion 55a extends above the strip portion 55b. The strip portions 55c-f represent portions other than the strip portions 55a and 55b, and together with the strip portions 55a and 55b, they form two quadrangles (approximately diamond shapes).
[0065] The length of eye opening 53 (the vertical or horizontal dimension of the opening) in one example of this embodiment is, for example, 50 mm to 80 mm (or 60 mm to 70 mm (±10 mm). Note that these dimensions (lengths) are not limited to these, and may exceed the upper limit value, and may be below the lower limit value, as long as an effect is achieved.
[0066] In this embodiment, the annular portion 54 is configured by connecting two approximately squares (approximately diamonds), but the configuration is not limited to this. The annular portion 54 may be configured by connecting two circular rings (approximately circular rings, elliptical rings, or oblong rings) or polygonal rings (polygonal (approximately polygonal) rings such as pentagons, hexagons, and octagons).
[0067] In addition, in this embodiment, a lateral mineral pattern 52 is provided adjacent to or in contact with the annular portion 54. In the illustrated example, a lateral mineral pattern 52 is provided on each of the right and left sides of the annular portion 54. In this embodiment, the lateral mineral pattern 52 is composed of a tape material 20 as shown in FIG. 10. The lateral mineral pattern 52 only needs to be arranged so as to extend along the side of the head, so the lateral mineral pattern 52 may not be in contact with the annular portion 54, but may be spaced apart. In the example shown in FIG. 9, the lateral mineral pattern 52 and the annular portion 54 are spaced apart. Note that if one wishes to actively obtain only the function and effect of the annular portion 54 in this embodiment, the lateral mineral pattern 52 does not need to be provided; however, from the viewpoint of overall effect, it is preferable to provide the lateral mineral pattern 52.
[0068] The mineral-containing portion 50 provided on the eye mask main body 10 of this embodiment is a portion containing minerals. The mineral-containing portion 50 of this embodiment is made of a tape material, and the tape material contains minerals. The tape material of this embodiment is made of cloth (natural material cloth or synthetic fiber cloth), and minerals are encapsulated within the tape material or dispersed in the tape material. Figure 10 shows an example of the tape material 20 of this embodiment. Note that in Figure 10, the front surface 20a and the opposite back surface 20b of the tape material 20 are shown for convenience.
[0069] To explain further, in one example, the mineral-containing portion 50 of this embodiment has a particle size of 325 mesh (approximately 44 microns) added to the tape material 20 (minerals known as power stones (e.g., radium ore, germanium, quartz, terahertz ore, tourmaline, etc.), or a blend of multiple types of minerals). Additives other than minerals (powder) may also be added. The mineral (powder) may be at least one type of mineral (or a blend of two or more types of mineral powder) selected from the group consisting of radium ore, germanium, quartz, terahertz ore, and tourmaline.
[0070] Furthermore, when the tape material 20 constituting the mineral-containing portion 50 is a cloth material (here, the cotton of the base 21 (e.g., cotton 40 smooth)), it is preferable to sew the tape material 20 and attach (secure) it to an internal component of the eye mask main body 10 (e.g., a light-blocking cloth or a cushion) to prevent it from coming off or shifting. Alternatively, the tape material 20 can be brought into contact with (fixed or adhered to) an internal component (or the inner surface (10b)) of the eye mask main body 10. In this case, a heat-sensitive adhesive (or iron-on adhesive) can be applied, and the tape material can be attached (adhered and fixed) to the eye mask main body 10 (internal component, inner surface 10b) by heating with a heater (here, an iron). It is also more convenient to fix the tape material with iron-on adhesive and then sew it with thread. It is preferable to sew the tape material to (fix) it to the eye mask main body 10 to prevent it from coming off or shifting even after washing, but this is not necessarily required.
[0071] The width of the tape material 20 (tape substrate 21) in this embodiment is, for example, 30 mm or less (in the illustrated example, for example, 25 mm ± 5 mm, or approximately 10 mm to 30 mm) at the portion of the forward mineral pattern 51. The width of the tape material 20 (tape substrate 21) at the portion of the lateral mineral pattern 52 is, for example, 70 mm or less (in the illustrated example, for example, 50 mm ± 10 mm, or approximately 30 mm to 70 mm). The length of the tape material 20 corresponds to the forward mineral pattern 51 and the lateral mineral pattern 52. These dimensions (width and length of the tape material 20) are not limited to these, and may exceed the upper limit values, and may be less than the lower limit values, as long as an effect is achieved.
[0072] In the configuration example shown in FIG. 10 , the mineral contained in the tape material 20 exists as a printed pattern 30. Specifically, the mineral is, for example, at least one mineral powder (or a blend of two or more mineral powders) selected from the group consisting of radium ore, germanium, quartz, terahertz ore, and tourmaline, blended into ink, and the mineral-containing ink is applied to the tape material 20 (tape substrate 21) by printing. The printed mineral pattern 30 has a geometric shape, design, lettering, or a combination thereof. In the example shown in FIG. 10 , the mineral pattern 30 is a square (e.g., a diamond), but other patterns are also possible. The mineral pattern 30 may be a geometric shape such as a circle (including an oval or ellipse), a hexagon, or a star, or may be a pattern such as a wave, spiral, arabesque, checkerboard, floral, animal, landscape, or character. The mineral pattern 30 may be letters such as alphabets, numbers, symbols, Japanese characters, kanji characters, or Hangul characters. A regular arrangement of the mineral pattern 30 is preferable for better appearance, but an irregular arrangement is also acceptable. In the mineral-containing portion 50 (tape material 20) of this embodiment, the mineral (powder) may be mixed (or impregnated) throughout the entire tape material 20. Furthermore, the mineral (powder) may be mixed (or impregnated) within the interior (cavity) of the mineral-containing portion 50 (tape material 20) of this embodiment.
[0073] FIG. 11 shows an enlarged view of an example of the configuration of the front mineral pattern 51 (annular portion 54) of this embodiment. In the annular portion 54 shown in FIG. 11, there are at least seven overlapping portions (57a-57g) where the front surface 20a and the back surface 20b of the tape material 20 are formed by folding the tape material 20. Unlike FIG. 9, in FIG. 11, the strip-shaped portions 55a-55f of the tape material 20 are numbered consecutively from a-f. Furthermore, the tape material 20 intersects at a portion (57a) located in the center of the two openings 53 (the intersection of the strip-shaped portions 55a and 55d).
[0074] The minerals in the front mineral pattern 51 (annular portion 54) generate weak currents (microcurrents) when exposed to the heat of far-infrared rays from the human body. This generates a magnetic field. In this embodiment, the annular portion 54 is shaped like an eight. At the center (57a) of the two openings 53, the tape material 20 intersects (at the intersection of the strip portions 55ab and 55d), creating a three-dimensional axis vector and generating a three-dimensional stimulation. In other words, it has a three-dimensional spiral structure (a three-dimensional figure-8 structure, two three-dimensional annular structures). When the tape material 20 does not intersect in the center (i.e., when the strip portions 55ab and 55d do not intersect), it becomes a two-dimensional reflex (spinal nerve reflex). Although stimulation still enters, the transmission of the stimulation is indirect. In other words, while two-dimensional reflexes (spinal nerve reflexes) are effective, a structure that can generate three-dimensional stimulation is more effective. When the eye mask 100 is worn, a zero magnetic field is generated between the two openings 83 in the figure-eight shape, generating a zero magnetic field deep in the center of the patient's body. Furthermore, the presence of overlapping portions / folds (57a-57g: seven locations) in the figure-eight creates a cubic magnetic field from those locations (here, seven locations) inward (inside the body, or in front of the anterior mineral pattern 51) toward the center. In other words, a zero magnetic field, where three-dimensional magnetic fields interfere with each other, can be targeted and locked deep within the affected area. For example, it feels as if the affected area is being pinched between the openings. The eyelid reflex (pain) is linked to the occipital reflex zone, and eye pain manifests as stiffness and pain in the occipital reflex zone. The configuration of this embodiment can alleviate such pain.
[0075] 11 , a three-dimensional spiral structure (a three-dimensional figure-8 structure, a figure-8 three-dimensional intersection, a figure-8 spiral) is constructed by connecting the surface of one end of one tape material 20 to the surface of the other end of the tape material 20 (in other words, the back surface of one end of one tape material 20 to the back surface of the other end of the tape material 20), but a Möbius strip structure may also be constructed from one tape material 20. That is, a Möbius strip figure-8 structure (a three-dimensional figure-8 structure similar to a Möbius strip) may also be constructed by connecting the surface of one end of one tape material 20 to the back surface of the other end of the tape material 20 (in other words, the back surface of one end of one tape material 20 to the surface of the other end of the tape material 20). To form such a Möbius strip structure, for example, instead of folding back the strip portion 55a and connecting it to the strip portion 55b in the structure shown in FIG. 11 , the first surface (e.g., the front surface) of the strip portion 55a is connected to the second surface (e.g., the back surface) of the strip portion 55b, and then the tape material 20 is folded back to form a figure-eight (a three-dimensional figure-eight), thereby creating a front mineral pattern 51 (annular portion 54) having a Möbius strip shape. Note that the connection between the front surface at one end of the tape material 20 and the back surface at the other end is not limited to the strip portion 55a and the strip portion 55b, and may be at another location. Furthermore, a Möbius strip structure can be formed by twisting the tape material 20. A front mineral pattern 51 (annular portion 54) with a Möbius strip structure can form a more three-dimensional magnetic field, which generates a more cubic magnetic field toward the center, thereby achieving a more effective effect.
[0076] 12 is a schematic diagram of the muscles in the neck of the head 90. Examples of the muscles in the neck of the head 90 include the rectus capitis posterior major muscle (91), the oblique capitis superior muscle (92), the oblique capitis inferior muscle (93), and the rectus capitis posterior minor muscle (94). The eye mask 100 of this embodiment acts on these muscles to relieve pain.
[0077] In addition to the muscles of the head 90, the bones of the head 90 (skull) also have an effect. As shown in FIG. 13, the bones of the head 90 (skull) include the frontal bone, temporal bone, parietal bone, occipital bone, and cheekbone. It is known that the skull can expand and contract, as shown in FIGS. 14A and 14B.
[0078] The skull consists of the occipital, sphenoid, temporal, frontal, and parietal bones, all of which are considered to be fixedly connected except for the lower zygomatic and hyoid bones. Here, ignoring the facial bones and focusing on the braincase, there are numerous sutures in the skull. While these sutures are generally described as fixedly connected, there is a slight degree of localized expansion and contraction of the sutures. The eye mask 100 of this embodiment functions based on the expansion and contraction of these sutures, and the mineral-containing portions 50 (51, 52) of the eye mask 100 can promote the return of cerebrospinal fluid. Cerebrospinal fluid fills the spinal canal as well as the brain, and spinal nerve roots extend within this canal. The eye mask 100 of this embodiment can improve motor function (physical function or flexibility) by facilitating neural transmission in the pyramidal and extrapyramidal systems.
[0079] Let us continue our explanation, assuming that the human body is capable of smooth movement through the use of muscles as a pseudo-fluid structure. This smooth movement is also possible thanks to the movement of the human skeleton. Skeletal movement is based on the structural gradient pressure of the center of gravity support column, which compensates for movement from above. The expansion and contraction (contraction) of the skull is linked to the movement of the diaphragm (muscle), i.e., synchronized with breathing. The diaphragm moves when you inhale and exhale, and naturally, the skeletal gradient changes as the muscles work together, causing the skull to move. To explain further, when the diaphragm moves with breathing, the ilium works in tandem, causing forward rotation (the ilium rolls inward) or backward rotation (the ilium opens outward) depending on the breathing. Then, in response to pelvic movement, the skull expands or contracts its sutures, making fine adjustments to balance the center of gravity. Naturally, movement via the reverse route also exists. Therefore, the skull moves the sutures slightly. In healthy movement, when the pelvis opens (particularly the ilium), the skull contracts, and when the pelvis closes (particularly the ilium), the skull expands. In unhealthy movement, when the pelvis and skull synchronize and expand / contract at the same rhythm, various unidentified symptoms arise from exercise physiology. The human body constantly makes subtle movements with breathing (particularly the movements of the skull and ilium). The eye mask 100 of this embodiment can adjust these movements appropriately.
[0080] The eye mask 100 of this embodiment includes mineral-containing regions 50 (51, 52), which promote the circulation of cerebrospinal fluid and adjust the skull and ilium to properly balance the center of gravity, thereby relieving fatigue in the wearer (user) wearing the eye mask 100 and improving physical function and flexibility. While taping, which involves applying tape directly to the body, is commonly used by athletes to protect muscles, the technology of this embodiment uses a softer stimulus than the strong stimulus of direct tape application, which can be called non-contact indirect taping. The properties of the mineral-containing regions 50 (51, 52) activate specific areas, relieving fatigue in the wearer (user) and supporting athletic performance. Even if the characteristic is slight, it can effectively stimulate a specific area in biological phenomena and improve athletic performance. In other words, as long as it triggers stimulation (the body is a collection of sensitive sensors), even if the difference in characteristics between the presence and absence of the mineral-containing portion 50 (51, 52) is slight, it can relieve fatigue and improve athletic performance. Just as acupuncture and moxibustion treatments on the head can affect the body, simply wearing the eye mask 100 of this embodiment can relieve fatigue and improve physical function and flexibility. Furthermore, by incorporating minerals into the tape material 20, it is speculated that the effects of the minerals (e.g., negative ions, terahertz waves, static electricity, far infrared rays, hormesis, etc.) may be stimulating, thereby contributing to the effects of the eye mask 100 of this embodiment. In the eye mask 100 of this embodiment, it is preferable that the entire head 90 is not made into the mineral-containing portion 50, but that there is an area (for example, an opening 53 (eye-corresponding opening 53)) where the mineral-containing portion 50 is not present, from the viewpoint of non-contact indirect taping (or from the viewpoint of the cranial suture vector and stimulation zone). To explain further, the mineral-containing portion 50 (51, 52) in the eye mask 100 of this embodiment is constructed by taking all of these viewpoints into consideration.
[0081] Next, the eye mask 100 of this embodiment can be modified as shown in FIG. 15 . FIG. 15 schematically illustrates the configuration of the mineral-containing portion 50 (51, 52) in a modified example of the eye mask 100 of this embodiment. A first pad 61 made of a first metal (here, gold) is formed in the front mineral pattern 51 (here, the region of the annular portion 54) of the material-containing portion 50 shown in FIG. 15 . A second pad 62 made of a second metal (here, silver) is formed in the front mineral pattern 51 (here, the region of the eye-corresponding opening 53). Note that FIG. 16 corresponds to the structure shown in FIG. 11 . The first pad 61 and the second pad 52 may also be arranged in the structure shown in FIG. 16 . In FIG. 16 , the first pad 61 is provided in the region of the right annular portion (i.e., the region where the right opening 53a is located). The second pad 52 is provided in the region of the left annular portion (i.e., the portion where the left opening 53b is present).
[0082] The first pad 61 (gold pad) made of the first metal (here, gold) and the second pad 62 (silver pad) made of the second metal (here, silver) can be arranged as follows: First, the first pad (gold pad) is provided in at least a part of the annular portion 54 and opening 53 (53a) corresponding to one of the right or left eye (here, the right eye), and the second pad 62 (silver pad) is preferably provided in at least a part of the annular portion 54 and opening 53 (53b) corresponding to the other of the right or left eye (here, the left eye). However, it is acceptable for the second pad 62 (silver pad) to be positioned slightly outside the annular portion 54 (for example, even if the second pad 62 (silver pad) is moved slightly to the left on the paper, it is acceptable as long as it is near the annular portion 54).
[0083] In the configuration of this embodiment, as shown in FIG. 16 , the first pad (gold pad) 61 is provided on the annular portion 54, and the second pad (silver pad) 62 is provided in at least one region (53 a) of the two openings 53. In another configuration example, both the first pad (gold pad) 61 and the second pad (silver pad) 62 are arranged on the annular portion 54. For example, in the example shown in FIG. 16 , the first pad (gold pad) 61 is arranged on the annular portion 54 at a position moved to the upper left of the page (in the example shown in FIG. 11 , it is the corresponding portion in the upper right of the strip-shaped portion 55 d). The second pad (silver pad) 62 is located, for example, in the example shown in FIG. 16 . Here, the first pad 61 and the second pad 62 can be sewn to secure them to the annular portion 54. In a configuration in which the annular portion 54 is fixed to the front mask part 11 by sewing with thread, if the first pad 61 and the second pad 62 can be sewn and fixed with the thread, this has great advantages in terms of both the manufacturing process and the method of fixing the first pad 61 and the second pad 62. Note that the first pad 61 and the second pad 62 may be fixed with a fixing means (e.g., thread, adhesive, etc.) other than the thread used to fix them to the annular portion 54.
[0084] Furthermore, only a portion of the first pad (gold pad) 61 (for example, 30% to 70% (50% in one example)) may be provided on the annular portion 54. And only a portion of the second pad (silver pad) 62 (for example, 30% to 70% (50% in one example)) may be provided on the annular portion 54. Also, only a portion of both the first pad 61 and the second pad 62 (for example, 30% to 70% (50% in one example)) may be disposed on the annular portion 54. In other words, the first pad (gold pad) 61 and / or the second pad 62 may be disposed on the boundary (outer edge or inner edge) of the annular portion 54. (that is, at the boundary of a tape material (for example, the boundary of tape material 20 shown in FIG. 10 ), an interference waveform is generated which exhibits a corrective movement and serves to maintain the characteristics (effect) of the figure-8. One preferred example of the arrangement is the configuration shown in FIG. 16 , in which first pad (gold pad) 61 is moved to the upper left of the paper and arranged at the boundary of strip-shaped portion 55 d. For example, first pad 61 is arranged so that half (approximately half) is placed on strip-shaped portion 55 d. Also, second pad (silver pad) 62 is moved to the left of the paper and arranged at the left edge boundary of the strip-shaped portion. For example, second pad 62 is arranged so that half (approximately half) is placed on the strip-shaped portion. This is one preferred example of the arrangement.
[0085] FIG. 17 is a schematic diagram illustrating the relationship between the first pad (gold pad) 61 and the second pad (silver pad) 62. A weak current flows through the human body, generating a magnetic field around the body. In this embodiment, as indicated by arrow 69, free electrons are induced from the first pad (gold pad) 61 to the second pad (silver pad) 62 (or biophotons are generated), forming a magnetic field (arrow 63) from the first pad (gold pad) 61 to the second pad (silver pad) 62, thereby adjusting the magnetic field of the human body. From a magnetic perspective, the first pad (gold pad) 61 corresponds to the south pole of a magnet, and the second pad (silver pad) 62 corresponds to the north pole of a magnet. A region of essentially zero magnetic field is created in the region between the first pad (gold pad) 61 and the second pad (silver pad) 62 as an interference wave between the north and south poles. When this interference wave (area of zero magnetic field) occurs, a three-dimensional axial vector is formed, which is preferable because it promotes the return of cerebrospinal fluid.
[0086] In the configuration example of this embodiment, the first pad (gold pad) 61 and the second pad (silver pad) 62 are circular, but they may be other shapes (e.g., oval, elliptical, rectangular, hexagonal, etc.). The number of first pads (gold pads) 61 and second pads (silver pads) 62 can also be appropriately selected. Furthermore, in the configuration example of this embodiment, the first pad 61 is a gold pad and the second pad 62 is a silver pad. However, this is not limited to this, and other combinations of dissimilar metals are also possible. Such a combination of dissimilar metals generates a magnetic flow (e.g., arrow 63) from the first pad 61 to the second pad 62 when the eye mask 100 of this embodiment is worn on the head 90. Examples of such a combination of dissimilar metals include a combination of zinc / copper metal (corresponding to the south pole) and aluminum (corresponding to the north pole). Another example is a combination of brass (a copper-zinc alloy) and aluminum (100% aluminum metal). Other examples include a combination of nickel brass (an alloy of copper, zinc, and nickel) with aluminum, a combination of cupronickel (an alloy mainly made of copper with 10% to 30% nickel) with aluminum, and a combination of copper and aluminum.
[0087] In the eye mask 100 of this embodiment, two openings 53 and a ring-shaped portion 54 are formed in the front mineral pattern 51 of the mineral-containing portion 50 located on the eye mask main body 10 that covers the eyes.As a result, when the eye mask 100 is worn, a zero magnetic field is generated between the two openings 53, and the zero magnetic field is located deep in the center of the affected area, thereby relieving the wearer's fatigue.
[0088] The eye mask 100 of this embodiment can be worn not only on the head 90 so as to cover the eyes, but also wrapped around the neck of the user 95 as shown in Fig. 18. Even in this way, at least some of the effects of the eye mask 100 of this embodiment (e.g., raising body temperature, relieving neck pain, etc.) can be obtained.
[0089] The eye mask 100 of this embodiment can be placed in a storage bag 80, as shown in Figure 19. This compact form makes the eye mask 100 of this embodiment easy to carry and convenient to use, especially when traveling (by plane, train, boat, car, etc.). The storage bag 80 is provided with a string 82, which can be used to tighten the opening of the storage bag 80 and can also be used to hang the string 82 somewhere.
[0090] Next, a specific description will be given of the effects of an example (effectiveness test) when wearing the eye mask 100 of this embodiment. Fig. 20 shows test indices when the eye mask 100 is worn, and Fig. 21 shows test results corresponding to the test indices.
[0091] As shown in Figure 21, in an example (effectiveness test) when wearing the eye mask 100, the following indicators were used as effectiveness test items: "reduced eye strain," "reduced swelling of eyelids and face," "reduced neck and shoulder stiffness," "easy to fall asleep," "easy to wake up," "sleeps well," "relieves fatigue," "improved flexibility," and "feels warm." These indicators were rated on a five-point scale, ranging from "5" (strongly agree) to "1" (not agree at all). The results of the 11 subjects showed that many gave "4" and "5" in each evaluation, with only a few giving "2" (not agree), and no "1" (not agree at all). This experimentally confirmed the effectiveness of the eye mask 100 of this embodiment.
[0092] In addition to this experiment, an experiment was also conducted to confirm flexibility, and significant improvements were observed in "forward bending" and "backward arm rotation" before and after wearing the eye mask 100 of this embodiment. This will be described later.
[0093] In the above-described embodiment, the eye mask 100 has been described as a form of a body contact member. However, since it can be used as a body contact member (such as a support member) to alleviate pain in the elbows and knees, the body contact member of this embodiment can also be used as a support (101, 102) for areas such as the elbow and knee. FIG. 22 shows the support 101 for use on the elbow, and FIG. 23 shows the support 102 for use on the knee. The mineral-containing portion 50 shown in FIG. 9 (or FIGS. 11, 15, and 16) is wrapped around the painful area (e.g., elbow or knee) so that the annular portion 54 (the figure-eight portion) is in contact with the area. As described above, the annular portion 54 (the figure-eight portion) of the mineral-containing portion 50 generates a three-dimensional axial vector, which generates a three-dimensional stimulation (e.g., releases energy three-dimensionally), thereby relieving pain in the area.
[0094] When the structure of this embodiment is used as a body contact member (e.g., supporters 101, 102), the body contact member (101, 102) of this embodiment is composed of a body contact main body portion (supporter main body portion) 10 that covers a part of the body (e.g., knee, elbow, etc.) and a mineral-containing portion 50 (particularly, front mineral patterns 51 (53, 54)) arranged on the body contact main body portion (supporter main body portion) 10. The supporter main body portion 10 is composed of a front supporter portion (affected part contact portion) 11 that covers a part of the body (e.g., knee, elbow, etc.) and side supporter portions 12 extending from the front supporter portion 11. The front supporter portion 11 is formed with a front mineral pattern 51 (a figure-8 shaped member) that covers a part of the body (e.g., knee, elbow, etc.) of the mineral-containing portion 50, and the side supporter portions 12 of the supporter main body portion 10 are formed with a side mineral pattern 52. Such supports (e.g., 101, 102) can be used. Although the lateral mineral pattern 52 does not have to be provided, providing the lateral mineral pattern 52 can increase the overall effect. In Figures 22 and 23, the lateral mineral pattern 52 is provided in the longitudinal direction (the direction in which the arms and legs extend), but it may also be provided in a circumferential direction (the direction in which the arms and legs are wrapped around).
[0095] Furthermore, the body contact member of this embodiment may be a member that directly contacts (or is in close proximity to) the body, such as an elbow or knee (such as a supporter), or may be a member that indirectly contacts (or is in close proximity to) the body. Specifically, the mineral pattern 51 (a figure-8-shaped member (see, for example, FIG. 16 ) or a Möbius strip member) can be used as the body contact member (member close to the body). As described above, in the mineral pattern 51, the annular portion 54 (figure-8 portion) of the mineral-containing portion 50 generates a three-dimensional axis vector and can generate a three-dimensional stimulation (can emit energy three-dimensionally). Therefore, even without direct contact, the effect can be achieved if there is direct contact (close proximity). As an example of such use, the front mineral pattern 51 (figure-8-shaped member or Möbius strip member) can be placed in a necktie and placed close to the body. The mineral pattern 51 may also be used as a necklace (as part of a necklace). Alternatively, the mineral pattern 51 can be used as an accessory (for example, as part of a key chain or jewelry).
[0096] In addition, the effects of further examples (effectiveness tests) when wearing the eye mask 100 of this embodiment will be specifically described. Wearing the eye mask 100 of this embodiment also improves physical function (particularly, flexibility), and these effects will be described. Figure 24 shows the results of measuring the improvement in physical function when wearing the eye mask 100.
[0097] This effectiveness test covered "forward bending," "shoulder range of motion" (arm rotation behind the body), "neck rotation," and "core" (improvement in core strength). Sixteen subjects, A through P, were tested, and each subject's forward bending and shoulder range of motion were measured numerically before and after wearing the device. For neck rotation and core experiments, subjects were asked to self-assess the changes on a five-point scale, with 5 being the most effective, 3 being average, and 1 being the least effective. For neck rotation, the numerical change itself is small (even a 1 cm change is large, but is small numerically), so self-assessment is a better way to show the effect. For core (improvement in core strength), the subject can best feel it rather than a numerical change in weight, so self-assessment is also a better way to show the effect.
[0098] In this effectiveness experiment, "forward bending" (cm) was measured in a standing position, with the surface of the table set at 0 cm and a ruler attached at 1 cm intervals above and below the surface. Forward bending was +9.2 cm before wearing the eye mask, but after wearing it, it increased to +5.0 cm, an improvement of 4.2 cm. The person who showed the greatest improvement (subject F) improved their forward bending by 13 cm simply by wearing the eye mask 100.
[0099] The "shoulder range of motion" (cm) was measured by having the subject stand with their arms spread out to the sides, then having another person gently pinch the subject's wrists and pull them back, checking how far their hands went, and measuring the distance between their hands on their backs. The shoulder range of motion was 37.1 cm before wearing the eye mask, but after wearing it, it improved to 24.5 cm, an improvement of 12.6 cm. The subject who showed the greatest improvement (subject N) saw an improvement of 28 cm in their shoulder range of motion just by wearing the eye mask 100 (their hands crossed 13 cm after wearing it).
[0100] "Neck rotation" (5-point scale) was measured by rotating the neck horizontally from side to side. Neck rotation improved by an average of 3.1 points before and after wearing the device, demonstrating the effectiveness of neck rotation (improved neck flexibility).
[0101] "Trunk" (improvement of trunk strength) was performed by the subject clasping the fingers of both hands and placing them in front of the body (then behind), while another person placed their fists on the subject and applied their weight to them. Before and after wearing the device, the degree of trunk axis deviation felt in front of the body (and behind the body) was evaluated. A rating of 5 indicated the least amount of axis deviation felt, and a rating of 1 indicated no effect. The trunk improved by an average of 3.8 points before and after wearing the device, demonstrating its effectiveness in improving trunk strength.
[0102] In this way, it was confirmed that wearing the eye mask 100 of this embodiment also improves physical function (especially flexibility).
[0103] While the present invention has been described above using preferred embodiments, these descriptions are not limiting and various modifications are possible. The configurations or methods of the above-described embodiments and modifications are mutually applicable.
[0104] The eye mask main body 10 (eye mask 100) of this embodiment is designed for use during sleep (including naps), but it may also be used during sports (e.g., golf, tennis, soccer, baseball, etc.) or during intervals or breaks between work or exams. While the structure of this embodiment is used as an elbow or knee support, nothing prohibits its use as a support (or in other forms) for other areas, such as a medical device, pain relief device, fatigue reduction device, stress reduction device, or concentration maintenance (increase) aid. Furthermore, while the mineral-containing portion 50 (e.g., the front mineral pattern 51) is covered with a fabric material (lining 10b), if comfort is not an issue, such fabric material (lining 10b) may be omitted. Furthermore, other appropriate modifications may be made as appropriate.
[0105] According to the present invention, an eye mask that relieves fatigue of the wearer can be provided.

24. The method for manufacturing an eye mask according to claim 23, wherein the tape material is folded so that there are at least seven overlapping portions between the front and back surfaces of the tape material.
25. The method for manufacturing an eye mask as described in claim 22, wherein the step of forming the front mineral pattern includes folding the single tape material to form an eight-shaped portion having a Moebius strip structure.
26. The method of any one of claims 22 to 25, further comprising the step of forming a side mineral pattern adjacent to or in contact with the front mineral pattern.
27. A method for manufacturing an eye mask as described in any one of claims 22 to 26, further comprising the steps of: forming a first pad made of a first metal on the eye mask body; and forming a second pad made of a second metal away from the first pad.
28. A body contact member comprising: a body contact main body portion that covers a part of the body; and a mineral-containing portion that is disposed on the body contact main body portion and contains a mineral, wherein the mineral-containing portion is composed of two openings and an annular portion positioned around the two openings, and the annular portion is formed by folding a single tape material.
29. The body contact member of claim 28, wherein the annular portion has a figure eight shape.
30. The body contact member according to claim 29, wherein the single tape material constituting the annular portion intersects at a point located centrally between the two openings.
31. The body contact member according to claim 28, wherein in the annular portion, there are at least seven portions where the front and back surfaces of the single piece of tape material overlap by folding the single piece of tape material.
32. The body contact member of claim 28, wherein the annular portion has a figure eight shape having a Moebius strip configuration.
33. A body contact member according to any one of claims 28 to 32, wherein the mineral is at least one type or a mixture of multiple types of minerals selected from the group consisting of radium ore, germanium, quartz, terahertz ore, and tourmaline, the mineral is applied to a tape material by printing, and the mineral applied by printing has a pattern shape selected from the group consisting of geometric shapes, patterns, and letters.
34. The body contact member of any one of claims 28 to 32, wherein the mineral-containing portion has a first pad formed thereon and made of a first metal, and a second pad formed spaced apart from the first pad and made of a second metal.
35. The body contact member of any one of claims 28 to 32, wherein the mineral-containing portion is further provided with an extended mineral pattern that extends adjacent to or into contact with the annular portion.
36. The body contact member according to any one of claims 28 to 32, wherein the body contact member is a support member for protecting at least one of an elbow and a knee.
