[0046] FIG. 1 is a diagram schematically illustrating the configuration of a gift packaging information providing system for an item according to one embodiment of the present disclosure.

[0047] Referring to FIG. 1, a gift wrapping information provision system for an item according to one embodiment of the present disclosure may include a user terminal (110) and an electronic device (120).

[0048] In one embodiment, a user of an e-commerce or food delivery brokerage service can communicate with a service server that includes an electronic device (120) using a user terminal (110). The user terminal (110) has an application that provides an e-commerce or food delivery brokerage service installed, can access the electronic device (120) under the control of the application, and can use the e-commerce and food delivery brokerage service based on information exchange with the electronic device (120). The e-commerce or food delivery brokerage application may include a buyer application, a seller application, a delivery person application, etc., depending on who the user of the application is. That is, the user terminal (110) can be used by various users, including customers who purchase items through the service, sellers who sell items through the service, and delivery people who deliver purchased items from sellers to customers. The user terminal (110) may be a mobile device such as a smartphone or tablet PC, or a static device such as a desktop PC, and any device that can install and execute an e-commerce or delivery brokerage service application can be used as the user terminal (110) without limitation.

[0049] In one embodiment, the electronic device (120) may communicate with the user terminal (110) and provide information related to an e-commerce or food delivery brokerage service to the user terminal (110), and may be included in a service server that provides the e-commerce or food delivery brokerage service. The electronic device (120) may provide information on items, stores, or menus as search results from a database. In addition, the electronic device (120) may provide information related to delivery and payment for items purchased by the customer through the service to at least one of the customer, the seller, and the delivery person. In one embodiment, the electronic device (120) may provide information related to a gift wrapping service for an item to the user terminal (110).

[0050] In one embodiment, the electronic device may provide a first page including information about an item to a user's terminal, obtain a first selection input for gift wrapping the user's item corresponding to the first page, provide a second page including a first area including an item list including the item and a second area for obtaining a second selection input for gift wrapping the item list, and provide a third page for obtaining information related to gift wrapping for at least a portion of the item list according to the user's input corresponding to the second page, wherein the second area may include information about the first selection input. A method for providing gift wrapping information for an item by the electronic device (120) will be described in detail below with reference to FIGS. 2A and 2B .

[0051] FIGS. 2A and 2B are sequence diagrams illustrating information exchange and corresponding operations among nodes related to a method for providing gift wrapping information for an item according to one embodiment of the present disclosure. The user terminal and electronic device illustrated in FIGS. 2A and 2B may each include the user terminal (110) and electronic device (120) illustrated in FIG. 1 .

[0052] Referring to FIG. 2A, in step 205, the electronic device may provide a first page containing information about an item to the user terminal. The information about the item included in the first page may include the item's name, type, sales options, image, sales price, discount price, coupon discount information, expected delivery date, accumulated amount, review information, gift wrapping information, and related product information. The first page may be, for example, a page containing a search result list for a specific keyword, a page displaying detailed information about a specific item, or a page displaying information about the item's category.

[0053] In one embodiment, the electronic device may provide a fourth page containing detailed information about an item, acquire a user's purchase input for the item corresponding to the fourth page, and provide a first page based on the purchase input. For example, the fourth page may be a single detail page containing detailed information about a single item, and the first page may be a bottom sheet page provided when the user clicks an object, such as a "Purchase" button, on the fourth page. In this embodiment, the fourth page and the first page may be provided in forms similar to page (300) of FIG. 3A and page (400) of FIG. 4 , respectively.

[0054] In one embodiment, the first page may be provided as a bottom-sheet page that overlaps at least a portion of the fourth page. The first page may be referred to as a handler page. When a user clicks the "Buy" button on a single detail page for an item, the first page may remind the user of the item's quantity, price, color, shipping information, etc., and allow the user to choose whether to add the item to a virtual shopping cart or purchase it directly without adding it to a virtual shopping cart.

[0055] In one embodiment, the electronic device may determine whether gift wrapping is available for an item within a service provided by the electronic device, and the fourth page may further include information regarding whether the item is gift-wrappable. Whether gift wrapping is available may vary depending on the characteristics of the item, and the electronic device may display whether the item is gift-wrappable on the fourth page, such as a single item detail page, to help the user consider whether the item is gift-wrappable before purchasing the item.

[0056] In one embodiment, an electronic device may determine whether an item is eligible for gift wrapping based on at least one of the item's size, seller, and type. The electronic device may determine in advance the conditions for gift wrapping the item and determine whether the item is eligible for gift wrapping based on whether the item's characteristics related to gift wrapping meet the predetermined conditions. The characteristics of the item related to gift wrapping may include characteristics that determine whether the item is eligible for gift wrapping in relation to storage, distribution, or transportation.

[0057] For example, an electronic device may determine that gift wrapping an item is not possible if the volume or weight of the item exceeds a threshold.

[0058] As another example, gift wrapping may be restricted for 3P items (i.e., items sold by a third party through an e-commerce platform without the seller's purchase of the item), rather than 1P items (i.e., items purchased directly from a third party and sold by the e-commerce provider). For 3P items, gift wrapping may be restricted due to the seller's ownership of inventory.

[0059] As another example, electronic devices may manage items that require special care during storage or distribution, such as fragile items, fresh food, or items requiring refrigeration or freezing, as a type of item, and determine that such items are not eligible for gift wrapping. Gift wrapping may be restricted for items that: i) require freshness or preservation; ii) have an expiration date or a shorter shelf life than other items; or iii) require storage conditions such as temperature, humidity, or light to be met, limiting the time during which the item can be maintained. Gift wrapping may also be restricted for items that require special care, such as shock protection for incoming goods, due to their sensitivity to external impact. For example, such items may include electronic devices that exceed a certain size or weight and require shock protection, or items made of materials sensitive to external impact, such as glass. In this way, if it is determined that the item requires shock protection or that its condition is difficult to maintain, the electronic device may be configured to limit the gift wrapping of the item itself or to set only some gift wrapping options as gift wrapping options for the item to enable shock protection and condition maintenance.

[0060] In one embodiment, the electronic device may determine that an item shipped in its own packaging box is not eligible for gift wrapping. Some items may be designated by the seller or e-commerce service provider to be shipped in their own packaging, and gift wrapping may be restricted for such items.

[0061] In one embodiment, an electronic device may determine that items excluded from existing gifting (e-Gift) services are not eligible for gift wrapping. The electronic device may identify items not supported by existing gifting services and manage the identified items so that gift wrapping is not supported.

[0062] In one embodiment, the electronic device may determine that an item is not gift-wrapable if it lacks gift-wrap infrastructure (e.g., a gift-wrap station or gift-wrap materials). Items managed in certain distribution centers, such as fresh produce or hazardous items, may not have gift-wrap infrastructure, and thus may be excluded from the gift-wrapable item group. In another embodiment, the electronic device may predetermine and label the item's gift-wrapability, packaging size, packaging materials, packaging costs, etc. when registering information for the sale of the item in a database. The electronic device may determine the item's gift-wrapability based on the label associated with the item's gift-wrapability and display the information on the item's single detail page.

[0063] In step 210, the electronic device may obtain a first selection input for gift wrapping a user's item corresponding to a first page from the user terminal. In one embodiment, the first page may include a third area for obtaining the first selection input for gift wrapping an item, and the third area may be configured to be selected by the user to obtain the first selection input. For example, the third area may include a checkbox object that the user can click to apply for gift wrapping, as in area (401) of FIG. 4. In one embodiment, when the electronic device obtains the first selection input for gift wrapping an item corresponding to the first page through the third area, the electronic device may generate a gift wrapping request for the item corresponding to the first page and store it so that it may be provided as information regarding whether the user has selected a gift wrapping option on another page provided to the user terminal at a later time.

[0064] In step 215, the electronic device may provide a second page to the user terminal, the second page including a first area including an item list including items and a second area for obtaining a second selection input for gift wrapping the item list. For example, the second page may include a page associated with a virtual shopping cart that temporarily contains one or more items that the user wishes to purchase, and the item list in the first area may include a list of one or more items that the user has temporarily selected for purchase and placed in the virtual shopping cart. In one embodiment, the second page may be provided when the user clicks an object, such as an "Add to Cart" button, on the first page. In the example illustrated in FIG. 5A, the second page may include page (500), and the first area and the second area may include areas (510) and (520), respectively.

[0065] In one embodiment, the second area may include information regarding the first selection input. For example, the user may provide the electronic device with the first selection input for gift wrapping Item A by selecting the gift wrapping request checkbox on a fourth page (e.g., a single detail page) or a first page (e.g., a bottom sheet page for purchase associated with the single detail page) associated with Item A to request gift wrapping for Item A. Thereafter, the electronic device may configure a second area for obtaining a second selection input for gift wrapping an item list including Item A in a shopping cart on a second page (e.g., a virtual shopping cart page) provided to the user. At this time, the second area may include a gift wrapping request checkbox for gift wrapping the item list, and the checkbox may be displayed in a checked state by default to display information regarding the first selection input. In this way, the electronic device can store information about gift wrapping selection input provided by a user through one page and display it as a related aspect on another page, thereby improving convenience so that the user does not have to provide selection input for gift wrapping again on another page, continuously providing the user with information about gift wrapping services and application opportunities, and enhancing the user experience by strengthening the connection and organic connection between different pages.

[0066] Referring to FIG. 2B, in step 220, the electronic device may obtain a user input corresponding to a second page from the user terminal. In one embodiment, the user input corresponding to the second page may include an input requesting a purchase of at least a portion of a list of items included in the first area.

[0067] In step 225, the electronic device may provide the user terminal with a third page for obtaining information related to gift wrapping for at least some of the items in the list, based on the user's input corresponding to the second page. In one embodiment, the third page may include a page where the user can select an item for gift wrapping from among one or more items selected from the virtual shopping cart for purchase. For example, the third page may be provided in a format similar to page (600) of FIG. 6 .

[0068] In one embodiment, the third page may be provided only when a second selection input is received. If the second selection input is not received, the electronic device may provide a fifth page for payment of at least a portion of the list of items based on the user's input corresponding to the second page. For example, the third page for gift wrapping application may be provided only when the user selects the gift wrapping application checkbox on the second page. If the user does not select the gift wrapping application checkbox on the second page, the fifth page for payment may be provided directly without providing the third page for gift wrapping application. For example, the fifth page may be provided in a form similar to page (700) of FIG. 7A.

[0069] In one embodiment, the third page may include a sub-list including one or more items selected from the second page among the list of items included in the first area of the second page. For example, the sub-list displayed on the third page may include one or more items that the user has selected for actual purchase from the list of items on the second page. The electronic device may determine whether gift wrapping is available for one or more items in a service provided by the electronic device, and the sub-list may include information regarding whether gift wrapping is available for each of the one or more items. In one embodiment, the electronic device may determine in advance conditions (e.g., size, seller, type, etc.) for gift wrapping an item, and determine whether gift wrapping is available for one or more items based on whether characteristics of one or more items related to gift wrapping satisfy the predetermined conditions. Information regarding whether gift wrapping is available for the items determined in this way may be displayed in a location corresponding to each item in the sub-list.

[0070] In one embodiment, the sub-list on the third page may include an object (e.g., a checkbox object) for requesting gift wrapping for each gift-wrapping-capable item among the items included in the sub-list. In one embodiment, the object for requesting gift wrapping for an item included in the sub-list may include information regarding a first selection input. For example, a user may provide the first selection input for gift wrapping of Item A to the electronic device by selecting a gift wrapping request checkbox on a fourth page (e.g., a single detail page) or a first page (e.g., a handler page for purchase associated with the single detail page) associated with Item A to request gift wrapping for Item A. Thereafter, on the third page for requesting gift wrapping of the sub-list including Item A, the gift wrapping request checkbox corresponding to Item A may be displayed in a checked state by default to display information regarding the first selection input.

[0071] Hereinafter, the process of providing gift wrapping information for an item of an electronic device described through FIGS. 2A and 2B will be described through exemplary pages of FIGS. 3 to 8.

[0072] FIG. 3A and FIG. 3B are diagrams showing a single detailed page of an item of an e-commerce service according to one embodiment of the present disclosure.

[0073] Referring to FIG. 3A, a single detailed page for Item A, page (300), is illustrated. [0078] FIG. 4 is a diagram showing a handler page of an item of an e-commerce service according to one embodiment of the present disclosure.

[0079] Referring to FIG. 4, a handler page (400) is illustrated, which is provided as a pop-up page overlapping at least a portion of a page (300). When a user clicks a "Buy" button on a single detail page of an item, the page (400) may be configured to allow the user to reconfirm the quantity, price, color, shipping information, etc. of the item and select whether to add the item to a virtual shopping cart or to proceed with the purchase process without adding the item to a virtual shopping cart. The user may select an object (402) including an "Add to Cart" button or an object (403) including a "Buy Now" button to proceed with the purchase process for the item corresponding to the page (400).

[0080] In the example illustrated in FIG. 4, the page (400) may include an area (401) for obtaining a user's selection input for gift wrapping an item. The area (401) may be configured to be selected by the user to obtain the selection input, and may include a checkbox object that the user can click to apply for gift wrapping. The area (401) may include information about a gift wrapping price (e.g., 1,500 won) corresponding to item A. In one embodiment, when the electronic device obtains a selection input for gift wrapping an item corresponding to the page (400) through the area (401), the electronic device may generate a gift wrapping request for the item corresponding to the page (400), and store this so that it may be provided as information about whether the user has selected a gift wrapping option in another page (e.g., page (500) of FIG. 5A, page (600) of FIG. 6) provided to the user terminal at a later time.

[0081] FIG. 5a and FIG. 5b are diagrams showing a virtual shopping cart page of an e-commerce service according to one embodiment of the present disclosure.

[0082] Referring to FIG. 5A, a page (500) is illustrated, which is a virtual shopping cart page that includes a list of one or more items that a user has selected to temporarily place in a virtual shopping cart prior to purchase. The page (500) may include a region (510) and a region (520). Region (510) may include a list of one or more items (e.g., items A, B, C, and D) that the user has temporarily selected for purchase and placed in the virtual shopping cart. The user may select a checkbox in region (511) for at least some of the items in the list of items in region (510), and then select an object (530) that includes a "Buy" button to proceed with the actual purchase process for the selected items. Region (520) may include a checkbox object for obtaining a user's selection input for gift wrapping for the list of items in region (510).

[0083] In one embodiment, the area (520) may be configured to be selected by the user to obtain a selection input for gift wrapping for the item list. In one embodiment, when the area (401) of the page (400) of FIG. 4 is selected by the user, the area (520) may be displayed on the page (500) in a selected state, and it may be considered that a selection input for gift wrapping has been obtained. For example, the user may provide the electronic device with a first selection input for gift wrapping for item A by selecting a checkbox in the area (401) of the page (400) to apply for gift wrapping for item A on the page (400). Thereafter, the electronic device may include a gift wrapping request checkbox for gift wrapping for the item list in the area (520) of the page (500), and the checkbox may be displayed in a checked state by default to indicate that the first selection input has already been obtained. That is, if the electronic device has acquired the first selection input for gift wrapping on page (400) in the item list, the checkbox in area (520) may be displayed in a checked state by default. However, this indicates a default display state, and the user may cancel or re-apply for gift wrapping at any time by clicking the checkbox in area (520). If the user has not selected the checkbox in area (401) on page (400), the checkbox in area (520) may be displayed in an unchecked state by default.

[0084] Meanwhile, unlike the example illustrated in FIG. 5A, an embodiment may be considered in which the page (500) is configured such that an object for requesting gift wrapping is positioned for each item in the list of areas (510). The considered embodiment may be advantageous in that the opportunity to request gift wrapping can be re-assigned on the page (500) for each item in the list of items included in the virtual shopping cart. However, as illustrated in FIG. 5A, rather than arranging an object for requesting gift wrapping for each item in the list of areas (510) on the page (500), providing a separate object for requesting gift wrapping for the entire list of items in areas (520) may be advantageous in that it efficiently utilizes the limited space on the page and aesthetically improves the appearance of the page.

[0085] Referring to FIG. 5B , a region (520) of a page (500) is illustrated, which displays an image list of items for which a first selection input for gift wrapping has been obtained among the item list of the region (510). In one embodiment, the region (520) may include information on one or more items for which a first selection input has been obtained among the item list, and the information on one or more items may include images of one or more items. All items in the item list of the region (510) are added to a virtual shopping cart through an input corresponding to an object (402), such as an "Add to Cart" button, on the page (400), and among these, items added to the shopping cart with a checkbox in the region (401) selected may have their images displayed as a list on the region (520). In one embodiment, a user may navigate the image list of the region (520) through a horizontal scroll input, and may click on one of the images included in the image list to remove the corresponding item from the gift wrapping application group.

[0086] FIG. 6 is a diagram showing a gift wrapping application page of an e-commerce service according to one embodiment of the present disclosure.

[0087] Referring to FIG. 6, a page (600) is illustrated as a gift wrapping application page where a user can select an item for gift wrapping from among one or more items selected for purchase in a virtual shopping cart. In one embodiment, the page (600) may be provided only when the user clicks an object (530) including a "Buy" button with the gift wrapping application checkbox in area (520) selected on page (500), and may not be provided if the gift wrapping application checkbox in area (520) is not selected.

[0088] In one embodiment, the page (600) may include a sub-list comprising one or more items selected from the page (500) among the list of items. The sub-list may be configured to display information regarding whether gift wrapping is available for each of the one or more items in an area corresponding to each item (e.g., areas (601, 602)). In one embodiment, the page (600) may include an area (610) that displays an image associated with the gift wrapping service (e.g., a photo of a gift wrapping).

[0089] In one embodiment, the sub-list may further include information on an object for requesting gift wrapping (e.g., a checkbox for requesting gift wrapping in area (601)) and a gift wrapping price (e.g., KRW 1,500, KRW 4,500 / 3 items) for each gift-wrappable item among one or more items. In one embodiment, the sub-list may be arranged so that items for gift wrapping are displayed with priority over items for which gift wrapping is not possible. In the example illustrated in FIG. 6, the electronic device may confirm that items A and D selected by the user from the virtual shopping cart are gift-wrappable and items C and E are not gift-wrappable, and may display a checkbox for requesting gift wrapping and gift wrapping price information on the corresponding area (601) for items A and D for which gift wrapping is possible, and may display information on the corresponding area (602) for items C and E for which gift wrapping is not possible. Items C and E for which gift wrapping is not possible may be designed to be positioned below items A and D for which gift wrapping is possible.

[0090] In one embodiment, the page (600) may include a fourth area (not shown) for obtaining information related to gift wrapping of an item selected from a sub-list, wherein the information related to gift wrapping may include options for gift wrapping that can be selected by the user (e.g., at least one of a type and size of gift wrapping). The electronic device may configure the page (600) so that the user may select a type of gift wrapping (e.g., box, vinyl, ribbon, clear wrapping, premium wrapping, special shape wrapping, wrapping with card and message, etc.) or a size (e.g., size of the wrapping box) for each item on the page (600). The page (600) may also display exemplary images, costs, or descriptions for each type and size of gift wrapping. In one embodiment, predetermined gift wrapping types and sizes for each type of item may be provided through the page (600).

[0091] In one embodiment, the fourth region may further include information regarding the type and size of gift wrapping most frequently selected by other users for the item selected from the sub-list.
