Abstract
Description
Garment treatment device and method for manufacturing drum of garment treatment device
[0001] The present disclosure relates to a garment treatment device and a method for manufacturing a drum of the garment treatment device.
[0002] A garment processing device refers to a device that washes or dries laundry. Garment processing devices include washing machines, dryers, and combined washing and drying machines.
[0003] A washing machine is a device that washes clothes or bedding using moisture, while a dryer is a device that removes moisture from clothes or bedding and dries them. A clothes treatment device may include a drum inside. The drum may form a washing or drying chamber within the cabinet.
[0004] As the drum rotates, clothes can be washed or dried inside the washing or drying room. As the drum rotates, the lift rotates, moves, and drops the clothes stored inside, increasing the efficiency of the washing and drying process. When placing a garment treatment device indoors, noise and vibration can cause discomfort.
[0005] As the drum rotates, depending on the type of clothing, noise may be generated when the clothing collides with the drum. Reducing this impact noise, which occurs not only on the perimeter of the drum but also on all surfaces within the drum, can improve user convenience.
[0006] One aspect of the present disclosure provides a garment treatment device that reduces noise.
[0007] One aspect of the present disclosure provides a garment processing device having enhanced fastening strength between drum components.
[0008] One aspect of the present disclosure provides a garment treatment device with improved durability.
[0009] The technical problems to be achieved in this document are not limited to the technical problems mentioned above, and other technical problems not mentioned can be clearly understood by a person having ordinary skill in the technical field to which the present invention belongs from the description below.
[0010] In order to solve the above problem, a garment treatment device according to the idea of the present disclosure includes a drum including a cabinet having an inlet at the front, a drum front forming a drum opening, a drum bag disposed at the rear of the drum front and facing the drum front, and a cylindrical drum body connecting the drum front and the drum bag, and a driving motor provided to rotate the drum, wherein the drum body and at least one of the drum front and the drum bag include a first steel plate, a second steel plate, and a vibration-damping steel plate including a viscoelastic resin provided between the first steel plate and the second steel plate.
[0011] A garment treatment device according to the invention comprises a drum including a cabinet having an inlet at the front, a drum front forming a drum opening, a drum back disposed at the rear of the drum front and facing the drum front, and a cylindrical drum body connecting the drum front and the drum back, and a driving device arranged to rotate the drum, wherein the drum front, the drum body, and the drum back include a first steel plate, a second steel plate having the same material as the first steel plate, and a vibration-damping steel plate including a viscoelastic resin provided between the first steel plate and the second steel plate, wherein the viscoelastic resin has a thickness of 40 µm or more and 100 µm or less.
[0012] A method for manufacturing a drum of a clothing treatment device according to the invention includes rolling a damping steel plate into a cylindrical shape, connecting a first end and a second end of the cylindrical damping steel plate by seaming to form a drum body, forming a drum front and a drum back with the damping steel plate, connecting the drum front and the front end of the drum body by seaming, and connecting the drum back and the rear end of the drum body by seaming.
[0013] According to the present disclosure, since a vibration-damping steel plate is applied not only to the drum body but also to the drum front or drum back, or to both the drum front and drum back, noise generated when laundry collides with the drum of a clothes treatment device can be reduced.
[0014] According to the present disclosure, since a damping steel plate is applied to all of the drum front, the drum body, and the drum back, and the damping steel plate includes a viscoelastic resin of an appropriate thickness, noise and vibration generated when laundry collides with the drum can be reduced, and the durability of the drum can be improved.
[0015] According to the present disclosure, a drum body, a drum front, and a drum back are formed with a vibration-damping steel plate and each component is connected by seaming, so that noise and vibration generated when laundry collides with the drum can be reduced and the fastening force between the components of the drum can be strengthened.
[0016] The effects that can be obtained from the present disclosure are not limited to the effects mentioned above, and other effects that are not mentioned can be clearly understood by a person having ordinary skill in the art to which the present disclosure belongs from the description below.

[0086] FIG. 5 is an exploded perspective view of a drum (100) of a garment treatment device (1) according to one embodiment of the present disclosure.
[0087] The drum (100) described below can be applied to both the drum (100a) of FIGS. 1 and 2 and the drum (100b) of FIGS. 3 and 4.
[0088] The drum (100) may include a drum body (130) having a cylindrical shape, a drum back (120) provided at the rear of the drum body (130), and a drum front (110) provided at the front of the drum body (130).
[0089] The drum body (130) may have a cylindrical shape. The drum body (130) may be provided with open front and rear sides to form a hollow space (132). Before the drum body (130) is combined with the drum front (110) and the drum back (120), the drum body (130) may be formed into a cylindrical shape in which the hollow space (132) is formed.
[0090] The drum body (130) may include a drum inner surface (133) and a drum outer surface (134). The drum inner surface (133) and the drum outer surface (134) may extend along the circumferential direction of the drum (100).
[0091] The drum body (130) may be plate-shaped before being manufactured into a cylindrical shape. The drum body (130) may be formed by rolling a plate having a roughly rectangular shape into a cylindrical shape and joining the two ends of the plates bent in opposite directions by seaming.
[0092] Specifically, the first end (not shown) of the plate can be joined through a groove seaming process in which a second end (not shown) bent in the direction of one side of the plate, opposite to the first end, is inserted into a groove created while bending the first end (not shown) and pressed to join. However, the joining method is not limited thereto.
[0093] When the two ends of the plates are connected by seaming to form a drum body (130), the two ends of the plates are connected and the plates are stacked and laminated to form a structure thicker than the thickness of the plates.
[0094] A connection (150) with enhanced fastening strength can be formed by pressing laminated plates connected by groove seaming in an intersecting direction at a predetermined interval. (See Fig. 9)
[0095] FIG. 6 is a cross-sectional view of a vibration-reducing steel plate (140) applied to a drum (100) of a garment treatment device (1) according to one embodiment of the present disclosure.
[0096] When the clothing treatment device (1) is operated indoors, the user may feel uncomfortable due to noise and vibration generated when laundry collides with the drum (100).
[0097] To solve these problems, a damping steel plate (140) may be applied to the drum front (110), drum body (130), and drum back (120), which are components of the drum (100) that the laundry directly collides with. However, the damping steel plate (140) does not necessarily have to be applied to all components of the drum (100). For example, the damping steel plate (140) may be applied to the drum body (130), and the damping steel plate (140) may be applied to only one of the drum front (110) or the drum back (120).
[0098] The damping steel plate (140) applied to the drum (100) of the clothing treatment device (1) may be a constrained damping steel plate (140) made in a sandwich shape by sandwiching a viscoelastic resin (143) between a first steel plate (141) and a second steel plate (142). The damping steel plate (140) can convert vibration energy into thermal energy when external forces such as noise and vibration are applied to the damping steel plate (140). However, the present disclosure is not limited thereto.
[0099] The first steel plate (141) and the second steel plate (142) may include a stainless steel material. Specifically, they may include SUS430 and SUS430RE. When the driving device (40, 90) is located further rearward than the center of the drum (100), a high load may be applied to the drum front (110). Therefore, a material having a higher strength than the drum body (130) or the drum back (120) may be used for the drum front (110). However, the present disclosure is not necessarily limited thereto, and the steel plates (141, 142) of the drum front (110), the drum body (130), and the drum back (120) do not necessarily need to be formed of the same material.
[0100] The first steel plate (141) can form the inner surface of the drum (133). The inner surface of the drum (133) can form a space in which laundry is accommodated.
[0101] The second steel plate (142) can form the drum outer surface (134). The drum outer surface (134) can be formed outside the drum inner surface (133).
[0102] The viscoelastic resin (143) may be provided to reduce vibration transmitted to the drum (100) and may be provided to improve the damping force of the drum (100).
[0103] The viscoelastic resin (143) may include an acrylic-based viscoelastic resin (143). Specifically, it may include an acrylic copolymer-based viscoelastic resin (143) having damping properties and adhesive properties. However, the present disclosure is not limited thereto.
[0104] A viscoelastic resin (143) can be placed between a first steel plate (141) and a second steel plate (142), and one surface (143a) of the viscoelastic resin (143) can be in contact with the first steel plate (141). The other surface (143b) of the viscoelastic resin (143) can be in contact with the second steel plate (142).
[0105] The first steel plate (141), the viscoelastic resin (143), and the second steel plate (142) can be sequentially laminated to form a vibration damping steel plate (140).
[0106] If the thickness (d3) of the viscoelastic resin (143) provided between the first steel plate (141) and the second steel plate (142) is excessively thick, the strength of the vibration damping steel plate (140) may be reduced, which may actually increase noise. In addition, if it is excessively thin, the vibration damping effect may be reduced. Therefore, the thickness (d3) of the viscoelastic resin (143) may be 40 μm or more and 100 μm or less. However, the thickness (d3) of the viscoelastic resin (143) is not necessarily limited thereto, and it is sufficient if it is formed so as to reduce noise and secure appropriate strength.
[0107] If the thickness (d1) of the first steel plate (141) and the thickness (d2) of the second steel plate (142) are excessively thick, difficulties may arise during the forming and seaming processes. In addition, if they are excessively thin, the strength of the vibration damping steel plate (140) may not be secured. Therefore, the thickness (d1) of the first steel plate (141) and the thickness (d2) of the second steel plate (142) may be 250 μm or more and 600 μm or less. However, the thicknesses (d1, d2) of the steel plates (141, 142) are not necessarily limited thereto, and it is sufficient if the appropriate strength of the vibration damping steel plate (140) can be secured and noise can be reduced to improve usability.
[0108] The thickness (d1) of the first steel plate (141) of the damping steel plate (140) and the thickness (d2) of the second steel plate (142) can be made the same. By making the thickness (d1) of the first steel plate (141) and the thickness (d2) of the second steel plate (142) the same, the manufacturing cost of the drum (100) using the damping steel plate (140) can be reduced.
[0109] In order to secure the damping performance of the drum (100), a damping material such as butyl rubber may be separately attached to the outer surface of the drum (100). However, although the damping performance is secured, the damping material may be difficult to attach or detach due to reasons such as melting due to heat, which may affect surrounding electrical components and cause them to malfunction.
[0110] To solve this problem, the components of the drum (100) itself can be formed of a damping steel plate (140) without attaching a separate damping material.
[0111] However, it is not necessary to form all components of the drum (100) with damping steel plates (140), and damping performance can be secured by forming only some components with damping steel plates (140) and attaching damping material to the remaining portions.
[0112] For example, the drum body (130) and the drum front (110) can be formed of a vibration-damping steel plate (140), and vibration-damping material can be attached to the attachable portion of the outer surface of the drum back (120) to secure vibration-damping performance.
[0113] FIG. 7 is a perspective view of a drum (100) of a garment treatment device (1) according to one embodiment of the present disclosure, and FIG. 8 is a cross-sectional view taken along line A-A' of FIG. 7.
[0114] The drum body (130) can be manufactured through a seaming process in which a plate-shaped damping steel plate (140) is rolled into a cylindrical shape and the first end and the second end, which are the two ends of the cylindrical damping steel plate (140), are bent in different directions and pressed.
[0115] The drum front (110) can be combined with a border formed at the front end of the drum body (130) in a seaming manner to form a first seaming portion (180), and the drum back (120) can be combined with a border formed at the rear end of the drum body (130) in a seaming manner to form a second seaming portion (190).
[0116] Referring to FIG. 8, specifically, the first seaming portion (180) may be formed by having the front end of the drum body (130) folded toward the outside of the drum (100) to form a groove and the end of the drum front (110) folded toward the inside of the drum (100) to be inserted into the groove. The second seaming portion (190) may be formed by having the rear end of the drum body (130) folded toward the outside of the drum (100) to form a groove and the end of the drum back (120) folded toward the inside of the drum (100) to be inserted into the groove.
[0117] However, the present disclosure is not limited to the coupling method, and any coupling method that can be firmly coupled so that the clothing treatment device (1) can operate smoothly is sufficient.
[0118] Fig. 9 is a cross-sectional view taken along line B-B' of Fig. 7.
[0119] The drum body (130) may be formed to include a connecting portion (150) which is a structure in which protrusions (160) and recesses (170) are repeatedly formed in the axial direction of the drum body (130) by processing a structure in which plates are stacked and laminated to strengthen the fastening force of the drum body (130). In other words, the connecting portion (150) may be provided along the longitudinal direction of the drum body (130).
[0120] The protrusion (160) can be formed to protrude in a direction from the inner surface of the drum body (130) toward the outer surface, and the recessed portion (170) can be formed to protrude in a direction from the outer surface of the drum body (100) toward the inner surface.
[0121] The height between the most protruding portion of the protrusion (160) and the most recessed portion of the recessed portion (170), i.e., the height difference (h) between the protrusion (160) and the recessed portion (170), may be set to be approximately 1.0 mm or more and 3.0 mm or less.
