Description

METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR WIRELESS POWER TRANSFER IN COMMUNICATION NETWORKTECHNICAL FIELD

[0001] Various example embodiments of the present disclosure relate generally to the technology of communication, and in particular to a method and an apparatus for wireless power transfer in communication network.BACKGROUND

[0002] When a terminal device is in low power state, the terminal device can be charged via wired or wireless power transmission. The wireless power transfer (WPT) is the transmission of electrical energy without wires as a physical link. In a wireless power transmission system, a transmitter device, driven by electric power from a power source, generates a time-varying electromagnetic field, which transmits power across space to a receiver device, which extracts power from the field and supplies it to an electrical load.

[0003] The technology of wireless power transmission can eliminate the use of the wires and batteries, thus increasing the mobility, convenience, and safety of an electronic device for all users. Wireless power transfer is useful to power electrical devices where interconnecting wires are inconvenient, hazardous, or are not possible.SUMMARY

[0088] WPT can be provided over Uu interface or sidelink (SL) , i.e., by transmitting a WPT message in preconfigured or dynamically allocated resources to the UE so that the UE may harvest the energy of the transmission of the WPT message for WPT.

[0089] FIG. 1 is a diagram showing warning procedure when the UE is RRC-Idle or Inactive (Left) and when in RRC-Connected state (Right) . SI refers to System Information, AKA refers to Authentication and Key Agreement, and SIB refers to System Information Block.

[0090] Paging allows the network to reach UEs in Radio Resource Control (RRC) _IDLE and in RRC_INACTIVE state through Paging messages, and to notify UEs in RRC_IDLE, RRC_INACTIVE and RRC_CONNECTED state of system information change and Earthquake and Tsunami Warning System / Public Warning System (ETWS / PWS) indications through Short Messages. In 5G New Radio (NR) , Paging functions mostly for triggering RRC Setup (RRC Request and RRC Connection  Resumption) . System Information Modification and PWS / ETWS notification is done by downlink control information (DCI) Format 1_0 with Paging_Radio Network Temporary Identity (P_RNTI) and corresponding Physical Downlink Control Channel (PDCCH) .

[0091] While in RRC_IDLE the UE monitors the paging channels for Core Network (CN) -initiated paging, and while in RRC_INACTIVE the UE also monitors paging channels for RAN-initiated paging. A UE needs not monitor paging channels continuously though; Paging Discontinuous Reception (DRX) is defined where the UE in RRC_IDLE or RRC_INACTIVE is only required to monitor paging channels during one Paging Occasion (PO) per DRX cycle. The Paging DRX cycles are configured by the network.

[0092] Today, more than ever, our society depends on fast, efficient and data-fueled emergency response. If equipped with the most cutting-edge tools and technology available, first responders -law enforcement, fire and rescue, emergency medical services and emergency call (such as 911) centers -can operate swiftly and improve outcomes in life-critical situations.

[0093] However, in many emergency communication scenarios, such as earthquake rescue, the difficulty of rescue is increased due to the low or almost no battery power state of the rescue person's UE, which cannot respond to network paging. The rescue person's UE can be regular UE or Passive IoT device.

[0094] The embodiments of the present disclosure intend to enable the UE in low battery power state to receive and / or respond to messages.

[0095] Only for examples, the UE may receive and respond to network paging or emergency warning, after harvesting enough power for regular transmission via Uu. However, possible applications and intended scopes of the present disclosure may be much broader.

[0096] While the UE is receiving WPT using 3GPP Radio Access Technology (RAT) , there may be a need to clarify or characterize UE power charging state, e.g., Wireless Power Charging (WPC) , in relation to, e.g., current UE states or functions in 3GPP RAT, such as NR, and provide some control information such as a reconfiguration of resources, an update of SIB, a paging, a notification, or emergency warning message to UE in low battery power, especially in emergency and disaster relief scenarios.

[0097] In case the UE is receiving WPT from gNB, the UE may need to be in RRC CONNECTED and get a dedicated charging service from the network. However, gNB may also provide common WPT to authorized UEs using, for examples, a common channel such as existing Paging Channel (PCH) or Broadcast Channel (BCH) or a new channel designated for the common WPT. The common WPT may be provided to UEs in RRC_IDLE / INACTIVE state.

[0098] In case the UE is receiving WPT over sidelink (SL) from other UE (s) , it'd better be that one of the other UE (s) is UE-to-Network (U2N) relay UE so that such the paging, SIB update or PWS can be received from the U2N relay UE. In this case, the UE can be in RRC IDLE / INACTIVE or CONNECTED state.

[0099] Below observed problems should be solved.

[0100] FIG. 2 is a diagram showing an observation that a UE in extreme low battery power may not  have enough power for any regular data transmission.

[0101] In an Observation-1, the UE 22 in extreme low battery power may not have enough power for any regular data transmission, e.g., including sending a WPT service request message to network (such as the emergency communication vehicle 21) , or responding to network paging.

[0102] FIG. 3 is a diagram showing an observation that a UE receiving WPT with limited transmission power may have to transmit with lower power, causing failed data decode and / or transmission.

[0103] In an Observation-2, the UE 32 is receiving WPT with limited transmission power may have to transmit with lower power, causing failed data decode and / or transmission, e.g., decoding SIB / Paging / PWS, sending a paging response or a WPT service request message to network (such as the emergency communication vehicle 31) with low transmission (Tx) power that the signal cannot reach the network properly.

[0104] When the UE is receiving WPT, the UE may not be able to receive control information including the critical ones such as paging, SIB update, or PWS message. The control information may also be for controlling the ongoing WPT itself, e.g., a reconfiguration of WPT configurations or resources. Thus, one of the main questions is how to enable and facilitate critical network control to the UE in WPC, i.e., while providing WPT to the UE.

[0105] Embodiments of the present disclosure may provide some solutions for above observations / problems.

[0106] FIG. 4A is a flow chart showing a method performed by a serving node, according to exemplary embodiments of the present disclosure.

[0107] As shown in FIG. 4A, a first aspect of the present disclosure provides a method 400 performed by a serving node. The method 400 comprises: a step S402, transmitting, to a terminal device, a configuration for a wireless power transfer, WPT; a step S404, transmitting, to the terminal device, a message for the WPT with a plurality of transmissions, based at least on the configuration; and a step S406, providing, to the terminal device, a trigger for decoding at least one transmission in the plurality of transmissions. The terminal device harvests power from the plurality of transmissions before and / or after the decoding.

[0108] According to embodiments of the present disclosure, the exemplary embodiments of the present disclosure propose a mechanism that, the terminal device may decode a transmission of a WPT message, for regular / emergency communication. Therefore, critical network control may be still enabled or facilitated, even when the terminal device is in wireless power charge.

[0109] In exemplary embodiments of the present disclosure, the message for the WPT carries control information. The control information comprises at least one of: a regular communication content, system information, SI, paging, or public warning information.

[0110] According to embodiments of the present disclosure, the terminal device may receive regular communication content, or emergency communication content, even when the terminal device is in wireless power charge. For examples, such regular communication content may include control signaling information from the serving node or other entity via the serving node to the terminal device.  Further, in case the terminal device is RRC Connected, the control information may be included in a RRC message or a RRC message itself.

[0111] In exemplary embodiments of the present disclosure, the control information further comprises: an update of the configuration for the WPT.

[0112] According to embodiments of the present disclosure, the terminal device may receive the update of the configuration for the WPT, during the wireless power charge.

[0113] In exemplary embodiments of the present disclosure, the trigger comprises: an absence of one or more transmissions according to a preconfigured pattern followed by the at least one transmissions in the plurality of transmissions. Or, the trigger comprises: a preconfigured indication value, or a preconfigured counter value, corresponding to the at least one transmission in the plurality of transmissions.

[0114] In exemplary embodiments of the present disclosure, the preconfigured pattern, the preconfigured indication value, or the preconfigured counter value is included in the configuration.

[0115] According to embodiments of the present disclosure, different kinds of triggers may be used for indicating the decoding (i.e., the terminal device needs to decode the at least one transmission to receive the message and the control information carried in the message) .

[0116] FIG. 4B is a flow chart showing additional steps of the method shown in FIG. 4A.

[0117] As shown in FIG. 4B, in exemplary embodiments of the present disclosure, the method 400 further comprises: a step S408, receiving, from an entity, the control information; a step S410, transmitting, to the terminal device, the message comprising the control information in the at least one transmission (this may be meant for the terminal device to decode the message) ; a step S412, receiving, from the terminal device, a response for the control information; and a step S414, transmitting, to the entity, the response for the control information.

[0118] For example, the entity can be a core network node, a gNB or a UE, as the serving node may be a UE or gNB.

[0119] In exemplary embodiments of the present disclosure, the response from the terminal device comprises a procedure complete message. Or, the response from the terminal device comprises a Hybrid Automatic Repeat request, HARQ, feedback.

[0120] For an example, the control information may be a RRC Reconfiguration. In this case, the response may be a RRC Reconfiguration Complete. In another example, HARQ may be used for sending the message. In this case, the response may be a HARQ feedback such as HARQ acknowledgement. In case the control information is a paging information, the response may not be a complete message but a RRC connection request instead for example. In case the control information is a warning message there may be no need to send the response message.

[0121] According to embodiments of the present disclosure, the serving node transmitting the WPT message knows current status of the WPT message’s reception and control information included in the WPT message.

[0122] In exemplary embodiments of the present disclosure, the configuration indicates communication resources for transmitting the message for the WPT.

[0123] The configuration may be included in at least one of: system information, SI, or a radio resource control, RRC, message. For example, the serving node can be a gNB or a UE and thus the configuration may be provided over Uu or SL using different Uu or SL messages.

[0124] In exemplary embodiments of the present disclosure, the communication resources are based on grant-free scheduling. The communication resources may comprise at least one of: paging occasions, PO, or system information block, SIB, occasions. That is, PO or SIB occasions may be utilized for the transmissions of the message for the WPT. In general, the communication resources may comprise scheduled occasions with detailed resource allocation and transmission control information over one or more configured time intervals for the plurality of transmissions for the WPT.

[0125] According to embodiments of the present disclosure, the current messages in communication system may be used for such WPT mechanism. The change or update to current implementation in communication system will be small.

[0126] FIG. 4C is a flow chart showing additional steps of the method shown in FIG. 4A.

[0127] As shown in FIG. 4C, in exemplary embodiments of the present disclosure, the method 400 further comprises: a step S416, receiving, from the terminal device, a request for WPT.

[0128] In exemplary embodiments of the present disclosure, the serving node comprises a base station, or a relay node / UE. The entity comprises a base station, a core network node, or a user equipment. The terminal device comprises a user equipment, UE.

[0129] In exemplary embodiments of the present disclosure, the message for WPT is transmitted over Uu interface when the serving node comprises the base station. Or, the message for WPT is transmitted over sidelink when the servicing node comprises the relay node.

[0130] According to embodiment of the present disclosure, some embodiments may be described between gNB and UE, other embodiments can be applied over SL as well.

[0131] FIG. 5A is a flow chart showing a method performed by a terminal device, according to exemplary embodiments of the present disclosure.

[0132] As shown in FIG. 5A, a second aspect of the present disclosure provides a method 500 performed by a terminal device. The method 500 comprises: a step S502, receiving, from a serving node, a configuration for a wireless power transfer, WPT; a step S504, receiving, from the serving node, a message for the WPT with a plurality of transmissions, based at least on the configuration; and a step S506, obtaining, from the serving node, a trigger for decoding at least one transmission in the plurality of transmissions. The terminal device harvests power from the plurality of transmissions before and / or after the decoding.

[0133] In exemplary embodiments of the present disclosure, the message for the WPT carries control information; and the control information comprises at least one of: a regular communication content, system information, SI, paging, or public warning information.

[0134] In exemplary embodiments of the present disclosure, the control information further comprises: an update of the configuration for the WPT.

[0135] In exemplary embodiments of the present disclosure, the trigger comprises: an absence of one or more transmissions according to a preconfigured pattern followed by the at least one  transmission in the plurality of transmissions. Or, the trigger comprises: a preconfigured indication value, or a preconfigured counter value, corresponding to a transmission, corresponding to the at least one transmission in the plurality of transmissions.

[0136] In exemplary embodiments of the present disclosure, the preconfigured pattern, the preconfigured indication value, or the preconfigured counter value is included in the configuration.

[0137] FIG. 5B is a flow chart showing additional steps of the method shown in FIG. 5A.

[0138] As shown in FIG. 5B, in exemplary embodiments of the present disclosure, the method 500 further comprises: a step S508, transmitting, to the serving node, a response for the control information.

[0139] In exemplary embodiments of the present disclosure, the response comprises a procedure complete message; and / or the response comprises a Hybrid Automatic Repeat request, HARQ, feedback.

[0140] In exemplary embodiments of the present disclosure, the configuration indicates communication resources for receiving the message for WPT. The configuration is included in at least one of: system information, SI, or a radio resource control, RRC, message.

[0141] In exemplary embodiments of the present disclosure, the communication resources are based on grant-free scheduling. The communication resources comprise at least one of: paging occasions, PO, or system information block, SIB, occasions.

[0142] FIG. 5C is a flow chart showing additional steps of the method shown in FIG. 5A.

[0143] As shown in FIG. 5C, in exemplary embodiments of the present disclosure, the method 500 further comprises: a step S510, transmitting, to the serving node, a request for WPT.

[0144] In exemplary embodiments of the present disclosure, the terminal device stops reception or transmission of other messages when receiving the message for WPT. The terminal device is in at least one of: a Discontinuous Reception, DRX, state over Uu interface and / or sidelink, an idle state, an inactive state, a connected state, or an out-of-network-coverage state when receiving the message for the WPT.

[0145] In exemplary embodiments of the present disclosure, the serving node comprises a base station, or a relay node / UE. The terminal device comprises a user equipment, UE.

[0146] In exemplary embodiments of the present disclosure, the message for WPT is transmitted over Uu interface when the serving node comprises the base station. The message for WPT is transmitted over sidelink when the servicing node comprises the relay node.

[0147] Therefore, exemplary embodiments of the present disclosure propose a solution to the problem or question stated above. The idea is based on exploring the WPT message that is used for WPT itself to convey necessary or critical network control information for UE in WPC state or, that is, during the WPT. The exemplary embodiments of the present disclosure include the following proposals.

[0148] A WPT message is configured to carry certain control messages including, e.g., periodic SIBs, paging or PWS information. The configuration can be preconfigured to UE or signal to UE via SIB or RRC message, by network.

[0149] When receiving WPT described above, the UE is not supposed to receive / transmit or, that  is, the UE is in a DRX state designated for WPC state, denoted as WPC DRX. The WPC DRX can be based on Uu DRX or SL DRX or both.

[0150] UE in WPC state is also in WPC DRX, and it can be RRC_IDLE, RRC_INACTIVE or RRC_CONNECTED state and the WPT message is transmitted using grant-free scheduling using (pre) configured occasions and resources. These occasions can be in OFF duration of DRX cycle as well. In case the gNB provides common WPT via, e.g., PCH or BCH, UE in WPC may be configured to receive WPT message for charging in one or more Paging Occasion (PO) per DRX cycle, or one or more SIB occasion in SI-updating windows.

[0151] UE in WPC is fully aware of the up-to-date content of the WPT message by firstly receiving it for the content in a first occasion and then receiving it for harvesting energy of the transmissions of the WPT message in following occasions among the (pre) configured occasions, as long as there is no change to the contents (e.g., the control message (s) carried in the WPT message) or transmissions of the WPT message (e.g., formats or resources used for transmitting the WPT message) during an allowed time configured for WPT / WPC.

[0152] There are two modes supported for WPT message transmission.

[0153] FIG. 6 is a diagram showing delay sensitive event-based triggers.

[0154] Mode 1: delay sensitive event-based triggers

[0155] - UE in WPC while harvesting energy detects a change to the content of the WPT message and, upon detection of a change, suspends harvesting energy of the transmissions of the WPT message in the next occasion and instead decodes the WPT message in the next occasion.

[0156] ● To facilitate the detecting, the serving gNB may suspend transmitting the WPT message in one or more occasions then resume transmitting the WPT message with the new content in following occasions.

[0157] - UE in WPC may then react to the up-to-date control information conveyed in the WPT message including resuming harvesting energy of the transmissions of the WPT message with the up-to-date contents after the next occasion.

[0158] FIG. 7 is a diagram showing less delay sensitive or periodical triggers.

[0159] Mode 2: less delay sensitive or periodical triggers

[0160] - UE in WPC may be configured to decode the WPT message periodically or according to a predefined pattern. In an example, using a “Time-To-Live” (TTL) down counter to the WPT message, the UE knows how many following occasions the WPT message contents will be kept then the UE may directly harvest energy in the following counted occasions. The UE in WPC harvests energy until the counter down to zero, suspends harvesting energy of the WPT message transmission in the next occasion and instead decodes the WPT message in the next occasion. In one option, the start and stop of the TTL down counter as well as the occasions in between may be preconfigured to the UE. In  another option, all the occasions may be preconfigured but the start and stop of the TTL down counter may be provided in the WPT message.

[0161] FIG. 8 is a diagram showing a Paging / PWS WPT message transmission via WPT.

[0162] The serving gNB (such as an emergency communication vehicle 81) may repeat the Paging / PWS WPT message transmission in the preconfigured occasions until receiving a response from the UE 82 or a preconfigured timer runs out, since the gNB has no idea how much power should be transmitted to the UE in WPC.

[0163] By utilizing SIB / Paging / PWS broadcasted messages to transmit power to the UEs in specific area, all the UEs in WPC may benefit from the provided WPT and can be reached by the network for emergency communication. The 3GPP specification change is minor, gNB and UE implementation effort is small.

[0164] Further, although some embodiments are described between gNB and UE, other embodiments can be applied over SL as well. Furthermore, in case the UE is in RRC_CONNECTED state with the serving gNB (or connected to the serving UE over SL using unicast communication) , Hybrid Automatic Repeat reQuest (HARQ) (or SL HARQ) may be applied when the UE decodes the WPT message. Then the Tx Entity (gNB or other UE) of the WPT message knows current status of the WPT message’s reception and control information included in the WPT message.

[0165] FIG. 9 is a flow chart showing an exemplary embodiment with required messaging to support WPT via paging.

[0166] In the example of FIG. 9, UE may be in RRC_IDLE state before Step 1. UE may have a pre-configuration indicating that WPT message is also used for periodic SIBs, paging or PWS while providing WPT to UE, and associated transmission occasions and resources. The WPT message is periodically transmitted on Physical Downlink Shared Channel (PDSCH) in one or more Paging Occasion (s) or SIB occasions within SI window (s) for examples. It’s a so-called “try the best” WPT method because the WPT message transmission has to stop between occasions due to grant-free scheduling.

[0167] Step 1. The serving gNB may signal UE the WPT pre-configuration, via SI or RRC message.

[0168] Upon receiving the pre-configuration, UE is configured to receive WPT message for charging during configured occasions, when UE in low battery power state. The WPT pre-configuration may include resource allocation (e.g., DL configured grant for scheduling-free reception of the WPT message, configured time interval for WPC period, etc. )

[0169] The UE’s low battery power state is up to UE implementation.

[0170] Step 2. UE decodes the first received WPT message (Step 2a) and enters WPC state, harvests WPT signal power (Step 2b) in configured occasions.

[0171] Step 3. Network wants to reach the UE, and paging or emergency warning is sent to gNB, by 5GC for example. A gNB (e.g., carried on an Emergency Communication Vehicle) , assumes that all the UEs are in WPC on specific serving area.

[0172] Step 4. The serving gNB updates WPT message content according to received paging or emergency warning message.

[0173] For example, in Mode 1, WPT message content is same as current periodic SIBs, paging message or PWS message. UE does not need to distinguish the WPT message and regular SIB, paging or PWS message, just relies on gNB “pause and resume” (Step 4a-step 5a) transmission mechanism (i.e., current WPT message is suspended in step 4a for Mode 1, and then resumed / updated in step 5a) , and then to decode (Step 5a) and obtain a new message context. Since UE is configured to receive WPT message, the UE simply harvest the signal power, from the next occasion (Step 5b) of the first receiving to the “pause” occasion. In Mode 2, a TTL is added in the WPT message context. Upon receiving periodic SIBs, paging message and PWS message with “TTL = 0” indication (Step 4a for Mode 2) , UE prepares to receive an updated WPT message with TTL= MAX in step 5a, and then resumes to harvest power from subsequent TTL MAX-1 occasions (i.e., with a value not 0) (Step 5b) , instead of decoding the message.

[0174] The updated WPT message is meant for including the control message such as Paging, and decoding the updated WPT message after the detecting of change includes receiving of the control message. The UE may stop WPC right away after receiving the control message if the UE determines that the control message is urgent or it has enough energy to respond to the control message for examples.

[0175] Further, the pause-update-resume in Mode 1 is for gNB. From UE perspective the resume of WPC is only an option. That is, UE may pause and decode the transmission to get the control information and based on the control information and its WPC state decide whether to resume WPC or respond to the control information. In Mode 2 UE is configured by the configuration to pause / suspend WPC in pre-configured occasions and decode the transmissions in the pre-configured occasions to get and update the control information. The pre-configured occasions and corresponding transmissions are among the plurality of occasions and corresponding transmissions indicated in the configuration for the WPT.

[0176] Step 6. Up to UE implementation, UE estimates harvested power for subsequent regular data transmission. If the harvested power is enough to e.g., display the PWS information, perform regular data transmission etc.., UE stops harvest power and exits WPC state.

[0177] Step 7. UE sends e.g., paging response, to gNB. In case UE is in RRC_IDLE state, UE may need to establish a RRC connection with gNB to go into RRC_CONNECTED state and the perform Step 7.

[0178] Step 8. Upon receiving the UE’s response, gNB stops UE WPC.

[0179] Step 9. gNB sends e.g., paging response, back to 5GC as an acknowledgement.

[0180] Step 10. UE sends a WPT service request to gNB, via RRC message or Media Access Control Control Element (MAC CE) , to request grant based WPT message transmission on PDSCH. This is for the case UE still needs WPT after responding to the paging. In general, UE in RRC_CONNECTED state may request serving gNB to provide WPT on demand. The gNB may then configure the UE for the WPT with semi-static or dynamic resources for a plurality of transmissions of the WPT message. During the WPT the gNB may still communicate with the UE via the WPT message, that is, provide control information or communication information or content to the UE in  the WPT message. Similarly for the case that the UE is provided WPT by a serving UE (relay UE or WPT capable UE in general) over unicast sidelink, the UE may request the serving UE for WPT and during WPT the serving UE may communicate with the UE via the WPT message over sidelink.

[0181] In some embodiments, the UE may resume harvesting power after completing the control procedure initiated by the control message sent in the WPT message. For example, in case the control message is for a reconfiguration of resources or parameters related to further transmissions of the WPT message for the ongoing WPT, the UE may perform the reconfiguration and send a reconfiguration complete message to the gNB before resuming the ongoing WPT.

[0182] FIG. 10 is a block diagram showing an exemplary structure for a serving node, according to exemplary embodiments of the present disclosure.

[0197] FIG. 14 is a block diagram showing exemplary apparatus units for a terminal device, which is suitable for performing the method according to embodiments of the disclosure.

[0198] As shown in FIG. 14, the terminal device 140 may include: a receiving unit 1402, configured for receiving, from a serving node, a configuration for a wireless power transfer, WPT; a receiving unit, 1404, configured for receiving, from the serving node, a message for the WPT with a plurality of transmissions, based at least on the configuration; an obtaining unit 1406, configured for obtaining, from the serving node, a trigger for decoding at least one transmission in the plurality of transmissions. The terminal device harvests power from the plurality of transmissions before and / or after the decoding.

[0199] In exemplary embodiments of the present disclosure, the terminal device 140 is further configured for performing the method according any of the embodiments above mentioned, such as shown in FIG. 5A, 5B, 5C.

[0200] The term ‘unit’ may have conventional meaning in the field of electronics, electrical devices and / or electronic devices and may include, for example, electrical and / or electronic circuitry, devices, modules, processors, memories, logic solid state and / or discrete devices, computer programs or instructions for carrying out respective tasks, procedures, computations, outputs, and / or displaying functions, and so on, as such as those that are described herein.

[0201] As used in the present disclosure, the term “circuitry” may refer to one or more or all of the following:

[0202] (a) hardware-only circuit implementations (such as implementations in only analogy and / or digital circuitry) and

[0203] (b) combinations of hardware circuits and software, such as (as applicable) :

[0204] (i) a combination of analogy and / or digital hardware circuit (s) with software / firmware and

[0205] (ii) any portions of hardware processor (s) with software (including digital signal processor (s) ) , software, and memory (ies) that work together to cause an apparatus, such as a mobile phone or server, to perform various functions) and

[0206] (c) hardware circuit (s) and or processor (s) , such as a microprocessor (s) or a portion of a microprocessor (s) , that requires software (e.g., firmware) for operation, but the software may not be present when it is not needed for operation. ”

[0207] This definition of circuitry applies to all uses of this term in the present disclosure, including in any claims. As a further example, as used in the present disclosure, the term circuitry also covers an implementation of merely a hardware circuit or processor (or multiple processors) or portion of a hardware circuit or processor and its (or their) accompanying software and / or firmware. The term circuitry also covers, for example and if applicable to the particular claim element, a baseband integrated circuit or processor integrated circuit for a mobile device or a similar integrated circuit in server, a cellular network device, or other computing or network device.

[0208] With these units, the apparatus may not need a fixed processor or memory, any kind of computing resource and storage resource may be arranged from at least one network node / device / entity / apparatus relating to the communication system. The virtualization technology and network computing technology (e.g., cloud computing) may be further introduced, so as to improve the usage efficiency of the network resources and the flexibility of the network.

[0209] The techniques described herein may be implemented by various means so that an apparatus implementing one or more functions of a corresponding apparatus described with an embodiment comprises not only prior art means, but also means for implementing the one or more functions of the corresponding apparatus described with the embodiment and it may comprise separate means for each separate function, or means that may be configured to perform two or more functions. For example, these techniques may be implemented in hardware (one or more apparatuses) , firmware (one or more apparatuses) , software (one or more modules / units) , or combinations thereof. For a firmware or software, implementation may be made through modules (e.g., procedures, functions, and so on) that perform the functions described herein.

[0210] In certain embodiments, some or all of the functionality described herein may be provided by processing circuitry executing instructions stored on in memory, which in certain embodiments may be a computer program product in the form of a non-transitory computer-readable storage medium. In alternative embodiments, some or all of the functionalities may be provided by the processing circuitry without executing instructions stored on a separate or discrete device-readable storage medium, such as in a hard-wired manner. In any of those particular embodiments, whether executing instructions stored on a non-transitory computer-readable storage medium or not, the processing circuitry can be configured to perform the described functionality. The benefits provided by such functionality are not limited to the processing circuitry alone or to other components of the computing device, but are enjoyed by the computing device as a whole, and / or by end users and a wireless network generally.

[0211] The term “non-transitory, ” as used herein, is a limitation of the medium itself (i.e., tangible, not a signal) as opposed to a limitation on data storage persistency (e.g., RAM vs. ROM) .

[0212] As described in above exemplary embodiments of this disclosure, embodiments herein afford many advantages. According to embodiments of the present disclosure, the exemplary embodiments of the present disclosure propose a mechanism that, the terminal device may decode a transmission of a WPT message, for regular / emergency communication. Therefore, critical network control may be still enabled or facilitated, even when the terminal device is in wireless power charge.

[0213] It should be understood that the above embodiments are only for illustration but not limitation. The present disclosure may be carried out in other ways than those specifically set forth herein without departing from essential characteristics of the disclosure. All changes to these embodiments not departing from the meaning and equivalency of the appended claims are intended to be comprised herein.
