Abstract
Description
Communication method and device
[0001] CROSS-REFERENCE TO RELATED APPLICATIONS
[0002] This application claims priority to the Chinese patent application filed with the State Intellectual Property Office of China on September 28, 2023, with application number 202311290334.2 and application name “A Communication Method and Device”, the entire contents of which are incorporated by reference into this application. Technical Field
[0003] The present application relates to the field of communication technology, and in particular to a communication method and device. Background Art
[0004] The protocol introduces channel congestion control. One channel congestion control mechanism involves end devices controlling the maximum number of data transmissions and the maximum transmit power based on the channel busy ratio (CBR). The CBR refers to the proportion of subchannels whose received signal strength indicator (RSSI) exceeds a threshold within a measurement window.
[0005] At present, to measure the CBR corresponding to a dedicated resource pool used to send a first sidelink (SL) positioning reference signal (PRS) (abbreviated as SL-PRS / SL PRS), it is necessary to measure the RSSI of the first SL-PRS on each resource element (RE). The RSSI of the first SL-PRS is the sum of the RSSI of the first SL-PRS on each RE, so that the CBR can be determined based on the RSSI of the first SL-PRS. The dedicated resource pool of SL-PRS is a sidelink resource pool used to transmit SL PRS and cannot be used for the physical sidelink shared channel (PSSCH). It can be seen that the terminal device determines the RSSI corresponding to the SL-PRS based on the RE granularity, which makes it more complex for the terminal device to determine the RSSI corresponding to the SL-PRS.
[0006] Summary of the Invention
[0007] The embodiments of the present application provide a communication method and apparatus for reducing the complexity of a terminal device in determining the RSSI corresponding to an SL-PRS.
[0008] In the first aspect, an embodiment of the present application provides a communication method, which can be executed by a terminal device (such as a first terminal device) or a software or hardware module (such as a chip) in the terminal device. For the sake of convenience of description, the following is an example of the first terminal device executing the method. The method includes: determining the RSSI of one or more first symbols (i.e., a first RSSI), the one or more first symbols include symbols for sending a first sidelink positioning reference signal SL-PRS; determining the RSSI of a first PSCCH (i.e., a second RSSI), the first PSCCH is associated with the first SL-PRS; determining the RSSI of one or more second PSCCHs (i.e., a third RSSI), the first PSCCH and the second PSCCH are on different subchannels; and determining the RSSI corresponding to the first SL-PRS (i.e., a fourth RSSI) based on the first RSSI, the second RSSI, and the third RSSI.
[0009] It should be understood that the first RSSI may be the average of the RSSI of each first symbol in one or more first symbols. The one or more first symbols may include symbols for automatic gain control AGC, or may not include symbols for AGC. The RSSI measurement of each symbol does not include the CP length corresponding to the symbol. The bandwidth corresponding to the first RSSI (measurement bandwidth) is the resource pool bandwidth used to send the first SL-PRS. The one or more first symbols include symbols for sending the first SL PRS. The one or more first symbols are symbols for sending the first SL PRS. In this case, the second SL PRS is mapped to the same symbol as the first SL PRS. Alternatively, the one or more first symbols are symbols for sending SL-PRS in the time slot where the first SL-PRS is located. One or more second PSCCHs are associated with (or correspond to) one or more second SL PRSs. In this case, the one or more second SL-PRSs are mapped to the same time slot as the first SL-PRS. Optionally, the second RSSI is the average of the RSSI of each symbol in the N symbols included in the first PSCCH, where N is a positive integer. The third RSSI is the average of the RSSI of each symbol in the M symbols included in the one or more second PSCCHs, where M is a positive integer. The symbols involved in the embodiments of the present application may be OFDM symbols, and the symbols may include OFDM symbols for AGC, or may not include OFDM symbols for AGC. The RSSI measurement of the symbol does not include the CP length corresponding to OFDM. The (measurement) bandwidth corresponding to the second RSSI is the subchannel bandwidth of the first PSCCH, or the (measurement) bandwidth corresponding to the third RSSI is the subchannel bandwidth corresponding to the second PSCCH. Alternatively, the measurement bandwidth corresponding to the second RSSI is the transmission bandwidth corresponding to the first PSCCH, and the (measurement) bandwidth corresponding to the third RSSI is the transmission bandwidth corresponding to the second PSCCH.
[0010] In the embodiment of the present application, the RSSI at the symbol level is used to determine the RSSI of the SL-PRS, which can reduce the complexity of determining the RSSI and improve the efficiency of calculating the RSSI corresponding to the SL-PRS.

[0018] In a possible implementation, the method further includes: sending second information, where the second information indicates support for the first mode.

[0072] In order to make the purpose, technical solutions and advantages of the embodiments of the present application clearer, the embodiments of the present application will be further described in detail below with reference to the accompanying drawings.
[0073] Below, some terms used in the embodiments of the present application are explained to facilitate understanding by those skilled in the art.
[0074] 1. Sidelink (SL) refers to a link between terminal devices based on PC5 port communication, analogous to an uplink or downlink communication link. The sidelink in the embodiments of this application may also be referred to as a sidelink communication link, side link, side link, direct link, side link, or auxiliary link.
[0075] For example, the links of device-to-device (D2D) communication, long term evolution (LTE) vehicle-to-everything (V2X) communication, new radio (NR) V2X communication, and sidelink on unlicensed spectrum (SL-U) communication are all sidelinks.
[0076] 2. Resource pool can be understood as a collection of resources, such as time-frequency resources. The frequency domain resources contained in the resource pool can be continuous. The time domain resources contained in the resource pool can be continuous or discontinuous. Different resource pools can be distinguished by SL resource pool identifiers (such as SL-ResourcePoolID) or resource pool indexes. The terminal device receives on the resource pool used for reception (also called the receiving resource pool) and sends on the resource pool used for sending (also called the sending resource pool). If the resource pools have the same resource pool index, it can be considered that the time-frequency resources of the resource pools are completely overlapping.
[0077] In the sidelink on unlicensed spectrum (SL-U), since the frequency band is shared by various forms of terminal devices, such as SL terminal devices and wireless fidelity (Wi-Fi) terminal devices and Bluetooth terminal devices transmitting on the same frequency band. Therefore, there is not necessarily a concept of SL dedicated resource pool. The SL resource pool can also be understood as: a set of resources that can be used for SL transmission. In this embodiment, the resource pool can also be referred to as a channel, an operating channel, a nominal channel bandwidth, or a bandwidth. That is, the resource pool, channel, and bandwidth are all used to represent a set of resources that can be used for SL transmission.
[0078] There are two resource selection modes for NR SL:
[0079] Resource selection mode 1 (mode 1): The network device selects SL resources from the transmit resource pool for the transmitting terminal device. The network device can select one or more (e.g., three) SL resources from a transmit resource pool at a time. The resource pool can be configured by the network device, upper layer, or pre-configured.
[0080] Resource selection mode 2 (mode 2): The transmitting terminal device selects SL resources from the transmitting resource pool. The transmitting terminal device can select one or more (for example, three) SL resources at a time. The resource pool can be configured by the network device, upper layer, or pre-configured.
[0081] A terminal device in a radio resource control (RRC) connected state can be configured by a network device to use mode 1 or mode 2, while a terminal device in an RRC idle state or inactive state can only use mode 2.
[0082] The SL resource pool used to send SL-PRS can be divided into two types: a dedicated resource pool and a shared resource pool. The resources in the dedicated resource pool can be specifically used to transmit SL PRS. For example, in order to provide the possibility of greater bandwidth, they are specially designed to ensure SL PRS transmission and cannot be used to transmit PSSCH. The resources in the shared resource pool can be used to transmit PSSCH or SL PRS. In one possible example, the terminal device can divide some symbols from the symbols occupied by PSSCH to send to SL PRS.
[0083] 3. Time domain resources, including symbol, slot, mini-slot, partial slot, sub-frame, radio frame (or frame), or sensing slot.
[0084] A time slot may include at least one symbol, for example, 14 symbols or 12 symbols. Time slots may have different time slot types, each containing a different number of symbols. For example, a mini slot may contain less than 7 symbols, 2 symbols, 3 symbols, or 4 symbols, while a normal slot may contain 7 symbols or 14 symbols.
[0085] Depending on the subcarrier spacing, the length of each symbol can be different, and therefore the time slot length can be different. For example, a time slot length corresponding to a 15kHz subcarrier spacing is 0.5ms, a time slot length corresponding to a 60kHz subcarrier spacing is 0.125ms, and so on.
[0086] 4. Frequency domain resources, including subchannels, frequency bands, carriers, bandwidth parts (BWPs), resource blocks (RBs), or resource pools.
[0087] A subchannel is the smallest unit of frequency domain resources occupied by the physical sidelink shared channel. A subchannel can include one or more resource blocks (RBs). The frequency domain bandwidth of a wireless communication system can include multiple RBs. For example, in each possible bandwidth of an LTE system, the number of physical resource blocks (PRBs) included can be 6, 15, 25, or 50.
[0088] In the frequency domain, an RB may include several subcarriers. For example, in LTE and NR systems, an RB includes 12 subcarriers, where each subcarrier spacing may be 15 kHz. Of course, other subcarrier spacings may also be used, such as 3.75 kHz, 30 kHz, 60 kHz or 120 kHz subcarrier spacing, which is not limited here.
[0089] Subcarrier or resource element (RE). Subcarrier or RE refers to a minimum frequency resource unit on a specific symbol in a multi-carrier system. In the embodiment of the present application, RE may refer to a resource unit of time-frequency resources, for example, it can be regarded as the minimum time-frequency resource unit. For example, 1 RE occupies 1 symbol in the time domain and 1 subcarrier in the frequency domain, that is, 1 subcarrier in 1 symbol in the time domain is 1 RE. In the present application, subcarriers and resource elements can be used interchangeably, and their contents are the same.
[0090] 5. Sidelink control signaling (SCI), also known as sidelink control information. SCI includes two levels of SCI: the first-stage SCI and the second-stage SCI.
[0091] The first-level SCI is carried on the physical sidelink control channel (PSCCH), which is used to schedule the second-level SCI and PSSCH. Because the SL is a distributed system, the receiving terminal device must correctly decode the first-level SCI before decoding the PSSCH. In the embodiments of the present application, the information carried by the PSSCH is described as data channel information. The data channel information includes data information and second-level SCI.
[0092] In order to reduce the complexity of blind decoding of PSCCH by terminal devices, the time-frequency resource position of PSCCH is relatively fixed, and the format of the first-level SCI carried on PSCCH is also relatively unique. That is, the terminal device does not need to blindly detect the time-frequency resource position where PSCCH is located, nor does it need to blindly detect SCI of different formats. The terminal device can detect whether there is a first-level SCI at the fixed time-frequency resource position of PSCCH. PSCCH exists in all or part of the subchannels in each time slot. For example, the time domain starting position of a PSCCH is the second symbol used for SL transmission in each time slot, and the number of continuously occupied symbols is 2 or 3. The frequency domain starting position of a PSCCH is the RB with the smallest index on each subchannel, and the number of continuously occupied RBs is at least 10 and does not exceed the size of the subchannel.
[0093] For SL communication and shared resource pool, the first-level SCI may include a frequency domain resource allocation (frequency resource assignment) field and a time domain resource allocation (time resource assignment) field. Among them, the frequency domain resource allocation field indicates the frequency domain resources of PSSCH, and the time domain resource allocation field indicates the time domain resources of PSSCH. Optionally, the first-level SCI also includes a resource reservation period (resource reservation period) field. Among them, the resource reservation period field indicates the period of PSSCH reserved resources. The value of the resource reservation period field is configured by the network device, or pre-configured (pre-configuration), or predefined. For example, the network device indicates the time domain resources, frequency domain resources and period of PSSCH to the terminal device through radio resource control (RRC) signaling. Among them, the content indicated by the above RRC signaling can be determined based on sl-ResourceReservePeriod.
[0094] For the dedicated resource pool, the first-level SCI includes a time resource assignment field and an SL PRS resource indication field. The time resource assignment field indicates the reserved SL-PRS time slot, and the SL PRS resource indication field indicates the specific SL-PRS resource index reserved in the reserved SL-PRS time slot. Optionally, the first-level SCI also includes a resource reservation period field. The resource reservation period field indicates the period of the SL PRS reserved resources. The value of the resource reservation period field is configured by the network device, or pre-configured, or predefined. For example, the network device indicates the time domain resources, frequency domain resources and period of the PSSCH to the terminal device through radio resource control (RRC) signaling. The content of the above RRC signaling indication can be determined based on sl-ResourceReservePeriod.
[0095] The second-stage SCI is carried in the PSSCH. The second-stage SCI does not occupy the resources of the PSCCH, demodulation reference signal (DMRS) and phase tracking reference signal (PT-RS). The second-stage SCI is mainly used for the hybrid automatic repeat request (HARQ) feedback of the NR SL, such as indicating the HARQ process number (process number), source ID (source ID), destination ID (destination ID) and other related information. The format of the second-stage SCI is indicated by the second-stage SCI format (2nd-stage SCI format) field in the first-stage SCI.
[0096] 6. CBR refers to the proportion of sub-channels whose SL received signal strength indicator (RSSI) exceeds the threshold within a measurement window. (SL Channel Busy Ratio (SL CBR) measured in slot n is defined as the portion of sub-channels in the resource pool whose SL RSSI measured by the UE exceeds a (pre-)configured threshold sensed over a CBR measurement window).
[0097] 7. RSSI refers to the received power of a signal (such as SL-PRS) on a specific resource. Resources can include time domain resources and / or frequency domain resources. Time domain resources include, for example, time slots, symbols, or mini-slots. Symbols can be, for example, orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) symbols.
[0098] 8. The SL-PRS CBR of the dedicated resource pool refers to the ratio of PSCCH and SL-PRS resources in which the SL RSSI exceeds the threshold in a measurement window.
[0099] In the embodiments of the present application, the number of nouns, unless otherwise specified, means "singular noun or plural noun", that is, "one or more". "At least one" means one or more, and "plural" means two or more. "And / or" describes the association relationship of associated objects, indicating that there may be three relationships. For example, A and / or B can mean: A exists alone, A and B exist at the same time, and B exists alone, where A and B can be singular or plural. The character " / " generally indicates that the previous and next associated objects are in an "or" relationship. For example, A / B means: A or B. "At least one of the following items" or similar expressions refers to any combination of these items, including any combination of single items or plural items. For example, at least one of a, b, or c means: a, b, c, a and b, a and c, b and c, or a and b and c, where a, b, c can be single or multiple.
[0100] The solution provided in the embodiments of this application can be applied to SL communication scenarios. The following describes the architecture (or scenario) of the communication system applicable to the embodiments of this application, in conjunction with the architecture schematic diagrams of the communication system shown in Figures 1 to 3. Figures 1 to 3 can also be regarded as schematic diagrams of several scenarios applicable to the embodiments of this application.
[0101] Figure 1 shows an architecture within the coverage of a network device, where a PC5 connection is established between the first terminal device and the second terminal device, and at the same time, the first terminal device and the second terminal device are connected to a network device (such as a base station) respectively. It should be understood that the first terminal device and the second terminal device can be connected to the same base station or to different base stations. Figure 1 takes the first terminal device and the second terminal device as an example of being connected to the same base station. In an embodiment of the present application, a connection can be established between the first terminal device and the network device through a Uu interface, and a connection can be established between the second terminal device and the network device through a Uu interface. The various terminal devices involved in the solution provided in the embodiment of the present application can be, for example, terminal devices within the coverage of the network device shown in Figure 1. It should be understood that Figure 1 is illustrated with the number of terminal devices being 2, and in fact, the number of terminal devices is not limited.
[0102] Terminal devices can also be referred to as terminals, user equipment (UE), mobile stations, mobile terminals, etc. Terminal devices can be fixed devices, mobile devices, handheld devices, wearable devices, vehicle-mounted devices, or wireless devices built into the above devices (for example, communication modules or chip systems, etc.). Terminal devices can be widely used in various scenarios, such as self-driving, remote medical, smart grid, smart furniture, smart office, smart wearable, smart transportation, smart city, drones, robots, and other scenarios, device-to-device (D2D), vehicle-to-everything (V2X) communication, machine-type communication (MTC), Internet of Things (IoT), virtual reality (VR), augmented reality (AR), industrial control, self-driving, remote medical, smart grid, autonomous driving, smart furniture, smart office, smart wearable, smart transportation, smart city, etc. The terminal device can be a mobile phone, a tablet computer, a computer with wireless transceiver function, a wearable device, a vehicle, a drone, a helicopter, an airplane, a ship, a robot, a robotic arm, a smart home device, a mobile station (MS), a subscriber unit, a cellular phone, a smart phone, a wireless data card, a personal digital assistant (PDA), a tablet computer, a wireless modem, a handheld device (handset), a laptop computer or a machine type communication (MTC) terminal, etc. The embodiments of the present application do not limit the specific technology and specific device form adopted by the terminal device. Optionally, the terminal device may also include a module that supports user plane secure positioning. In this case, the terminal device can be regarded as a terminal that can support secure user plane location (SUPL).
[0103] Network equipment may include access network equipment and / or core network equipment. Access network (AN) equipment may be a base station, an evolved NodeB (eNodeB), a transmission reception point (TRP), a next generation NodeB (gNB) in a fifth generation (5G) mobile communication system, a base station in a sixth generation (6G) mobile communication system, a base station in a future mobile communication system, or an access node in a wireless fidelity (WiFi) system, etc.; it may also be a module or unit that performs part of the functions of a base station, for example, a centralized unit (CU) or a distributed unit (DU). The access network equipment may be a macro base station, a micro base station or an indoor station, a relay node or a donor node, etc. The embodiments of the present application do not limit the specific technology and specific device form adopted by the access network equipment. In the embodiments of the present application, a base station is used as an example of an access network device for description.
[0104] In one possible scenario, multiple RAN nodes collaborate to assist the terminal in achieving wireless access, and different RAN nodes respectively implement part of the functions of the base station. For example, the RAN node can be a transmission and reception point (TRP), a transmission measurement function (TMF), a central unit (CU), a distributed unit (DU), a CU-control plane (CP), a CU-user plane (UP), or a radio unit (RU). The CU and DU can be set separately or included in the same network element, such as a baseband unit (BBU). The RU can be included in a radio frequency device or radio frequency unit, such as a remote radio unit (RRU), an active antenna unit (AAU), or a remote radio head (RRH).
[0105] In different systems, CU (or CU-CP and CU-UP), DU or RU may also have different names, but those skilled in the art can understand their meanings. For example, in an open radio access network (O-RAN or open RAN or ORAN) system, CU may also be called O-CU (open CU), DU may also be called O-DU, CU-CP may also be called O-CU-CP, CU-UP may also be called O-CU-UP, and RU may also be called O-RU. For the convenience of description, this application takes CU, CU-CP, CU-UP, DU and RU as examples for description. Any unit of CU (or CU-CP, CU-UP), DU and RU in this application can be implemented by a software module, a hardware module, or a combination of a software module and a hardware module.
[0106] Access network equipment and terminal devices can be fixed or mobile. They can be deployed on land, including indoors or outdoors, handheld or vehicle-mounted; on water; or in the air on aircraft, balloons, and satellites. The embodiments of this application do not limit the application scenarios of access network equipment and terminal devices.
[0107] Core network equipment refers to the equipment included in the access network. Positioning-related network elements within the core network primarily include the access and mobility management function (AMF) and location management function (LMF). They may also include the evolutionary server mobile location center (E-SMLC), unified data management (UDM), and application function (AF) elements.
[0108] In the embodiment of the present application, the device for realizing the function of the terminal device may be a terminal device, or a device capable of supporting the terminal device to realize the function, such as a chip system, which may be installed in the terminal device. Similarly, in the embodiment of the present application, the device for realizing the function of the network device may be a network device, or a device capable of supporting the network device to realize the function, such as a chip system, which may be installed in the network device. In the technical solution provided in the embodiment of the present application, the technical solution provided in the embodiment of the present application is described by taking the case where the device for realizing the function of the terminal device is a terminal device and the case where the device for realizing the function of the network device is a network device as an example.
[0109] Figure 2 shows an architecture within partial coverage of a network device, where a PC5 connection is established between a first terminal device and a second terminal device, while some terminal devices do not establish a connection with the network device (e.g., a base station), and the remaining terminal devices establish a connection with the network device (e.g., a base station). The terminal devices involved in the solution provided in the embodiment of the present application can be terminal devices within the coverage of the network device shown in Figure 2, or can be terminal devices outside the coverage of the network device shown in Figure 2.
[0110] FIG3 shows an architecture outside the coverage of a network device, where a PC5 connection is established between a first terminal device and a second terminal device, and none of the terminal devices establishes a connection with the network device.
[0111] FIG4 is a schematic diagram of a network architecture applicable to an embodiment of the present application. FIG4 can also be regarded as a schematic diagram of a scenario applicable to an embodiment of the present application. As shown in FIG4 , a possible network architecture applicable to the present application may include three parts: a terminal device (specifically UE1 and UE2 as shown in FIG4 ), an access network device (for example, a next generation (NG) radio access network ((Radio) Access Network, (R)AN) device) and a core network.
[0112] In an embodiment of the present application, both UE1 and UE2 may include a user equipment (UE)-location management component (LMC). The UE-LMC may be a component or application with partial LMF functionality deployed on a terminal device, used to support positioning services of a PC5 interface. The LMCs in UE1 and UE2 in FIG4 are shown as dotted lines to indicate that the terminal device side may include or may not include the LMC. FIG4 illustrates an example in which both UE1 and UE2 include the LMC.
[0113] In the embodiment of the present application, UE1 and UE2 shown in FIG4 may be terminal devices in the respective communication systems shown in FIG1 to FIG3 , for example, they may be the two terminal devices located within the coverage range of the network device shown in FIG1 . For another example, some of the UE1 and UE2 shown in FIG4 may be terminal devices located within the coverage range of the network device shown in FIG2 , and the other part of the UE may be terminal devices located outside the coverage range of the network device shown in FIG2 . For another example, UE1 and UE2 shown in FIG4 may be the two terminal devices located outside the coverage range of the network device shown in FIG3 .
[0114] Figure 4 illustrates the access network, including the AMF and LMF. Access network equipment and the AMF network element communicate via the NG-C interface. The AMF network element acts as a router for communication between the gNB and the LMF. The LMF network element estimates the location of terminal devices, and the AMF and LMF communicate via the NLs interface.
[0115] The following describes the method for determining the RSSI corresponding to the SL-PRS in the background art, using UE1 as an example in Figure 4 above. Please refer to Figure 5 for a schematic diagram of SL-PRS resource mapping. As shown in Figure 5, SL-PRS1 and SL-PRS2 are alternately mapped to symbols 4, 5, 6, and 7.
[0116] If UE1 wants to determine SL-PRS1, it needs to measure the RSSI on each RE corresponding to SL-PRS1. As shown in Figure 5, it needs to determine the RSSI on 28 REs to determine the RSSI corresponding to SL-PRS1. This makes it more complex for UE1 to determine the RSSI corresponding to SL-PRS1.
[0117] In view of this, an embodiment of the present application provides a communication method, in which the RSSI of the first SL-PRS in one or more symbols (such as the first RSSI) can be determined, and the RSSI of the first PSCCH associated with the first SL-PRS (i.e., the second RSSI) and the RSSI of one or more second PSCCHs (such as the third RSSI) are determined, thereby determining the RSSI of the first SL-PRS. That is, in an embodiment of the present application, the RSSI of the SL-PRS is determined based on the RSSI at the symbol level, which helps to reduce the complexity of determining the RSSI corresponding to the SL-PRS1.
[0118] The following describes the method provided by the embodiments of the present application in conjunction with the accompanying drawings. In the accompanying drawings corresponding to the various embodiments of the present application, all steps represented by dotted lines are optional steps. In addition, the first terminal device involved in the various embodiments of the present application is, for example, the first terminal device involved in Figures 1 to 3, or the UE1 involved in Figure 4, the second terminal device is, for example, the second terminal device involved in Figures 1 to 3, or the UE2 involved in Figure 4, and the network device is, for example, the network device involved in Figure 1 or Figure 2, or the access network device or core network device involved in Figure 3. If the technical solutions provided by the various embodiments of the present application are applied to other communication systems, the name and / or function of the device may change, and there is no limitation on this.
[0119] Please refer to Figure 6, which is a schematic diagram of a communication method provided by an embodiment of the present application. Figure 6 illustrates steps S601 to S606, which are described below.
[0120] S601: A first terminal device sends second information to a network device. Correspondingly, the network device receives the second information from the first terminal device.
[0121] The second information may be carried in the capability information of the first terminal device, or the second information may be regarded as one of the capability information of the first terminal device. The second information indicates support for the first mode (mode), which means that the first terminal device supports the first mode. The first mode may also be referred to as mode 1. The first mode may be regarded as a way to determine the RSSI (such as the fourth RSSI) corresponding to the first SL-PRS. The fourth RSSI is the RSSI corresponding to the first SL-PRS, which may be regarded as a weighted average of the RSSI of the first SL-PRS on multiple REs and the RSSI of the PSCCH associated with the first SL-PRS. Multiple REs include REs for transmitting the first SL-PRS. The first mode indicates that the fourth RSSI is determined based on the RSSI at the symbol level (such as the first RSSI). The first RSSI is the RSSI of one or more first symbols.
[0122] The first RSSI may be an average value of the RSSIs of the one or more first symbols. The one or more first symbols may be continuous or discontinuous, which is not specifically limited.
[0123] The one or more first symbols include symbols for transmitting a first SL-PRS. In other words, the first SL-PRS is mapped to at least one RE on some or all of the one or more first symbols. The implementation of the one or more first symbols is described below in conjunction with the contents shown in A1 to A2.
[0124] A1. One or more first symbols are symbols used to send a first SL-PRS. In other words, the first SL-PRS is mapped to at least one RE corresponding to all of the one or more symbols.
[0125] For example, refer to FIG7 , which shows a schematic diagram of resource mapping for an SL-PRS according to an embodiment of the present application. As shown in FIG7 , SL-PRS1 and SL-PRS2 are both mapped to symbols 4 to 7, and SL-PRS3 to SL-PRS4 are both mapped to symbols 9 to 12. If the first SL-PRS is SL-PRS1 or SL-PRS2, then the one or more symbols may include symbols 4 to 7. If the first SL-PRS is SL-PRS3 or SL-PRS4, then the one or more symbols may include symbols 9 to 12.
[0126] A2. One or more first symbols are symbols used to send SL-PRS in the time slot where the first SL-PRS is located.
[0127] The time slot where the first SL-PRS is located may include one or more time slots, which is not specifically limited in the embodiments of the present application. Under A2, the one or more first symbols include a symbol for sending the first SL-PRS, and optionally, further include symbols for sending other SL-PRSs in the time slot where the first SL-PRS is located.
[0128] Continuing with Figure 7 as an example, if the first SL-PRS is SL-PRS1, the time slot where SL-PRS1 is located includes symbols 0 to 13 as shown in Figure 7, and the symbols used to send SL-PRS in the time slot where the first SL-PRS is located specifically include symbols 4 to 7, and symbols 9 to 12. Therefore, the one or more first symbols include symbols 4 to 7, and symbols 9 to 12.
[0129] Regardless of A1 or A2, the one or more first symbols are OFDM symbols. The one or more first symbols may include symbols used for automatic gain control (AGC) (e.g., symbols 3 and 8 in FIG7 ), or may not include symbols used for AGC. This embodiment of the present application does not specifically limit this. The RSSI of one symbol does not include the cyclic prefix (CP) length corresponding to the OFDM symbol.
[0130] In one possible implementation, the bandwidth (or measurement bandwidth) corresponding to the first RSSI may be the bandwidth of a resource pool. The resource pool is a resource pool used to send the first SL-PRS. The resource pool involved in the embodiment of the present application may be a dedicated resource pool.
[0131] S602: The network device sends first information to the first terminal device. Correspondingly, the first terminal device receives the first information from the network device.
[0132] The first information may be carried in radio resource control (RRC) signaling or proprietary signaling, which is not limited in the embodiments of the present application. The first information indicates the first mode, or can be understood as indicating that the first terminal device adopts the first mode. In this way, the first terminal device can determine to adopt the first mode based on the first information and determine the fourth RSSI.
[0133] In another possible implementation, the first terminal device may be preconfigured or predefined to use the first mode to determine the fourth RSSI. In this case, the terminal device does not need to send the second information, nor does the network device need to send the first information, that is, there is no need to execute the above-mentioned steps S601 and S602, that is, steps S601 and S602 are optional steps, which are indicated by dotted lines in Figure 6.
[0134] S603: The first terminal device determines a first RSSI.
[0135] The content of the first RSSI can refer to the content of the first RSSI mentioned in S601 above, and the repeated parts are not listed here. The first RSSI can be regarded as the RSSI at the symbol level. The first RSSI can be the RSSI of one or more symbols, or the average of the RSSI of these one or more symbols, such as the arithmetic mean or weighted average.
[0136] For example, the first terminal device may measure the RSSI of each of the one or more symbols. If the one or more symbols include only one symbol, the first terminal device may determine the RSSI of that symbol, which is the first RSSI. If the one or more symbols include multiple symbols, the first terminal device may determine the average RSSI of each of the one or more symbols to obtain the first RSSI. Alternatively, the first terminal device may directly measure the sum of the RSSIs of the one or more symbols and divide the total number of the one or more symbols by the sum to obtain the first RSSI.
[0137] Optionally, the RSSIs of any two of the one or more symbols may be the same, for example, the RSSI corresponding to symbol 0 is the same as the RSSI corresponding to symbol 1, which may be expressed as RSSI symbol,0 =RSSI symbol,1 , RSSI symbol,0 Indicates the RSSI corresponding to symbol 0, RSSI symbol,1 Indicates the RSSI corresponding to symbol 1.
[0138] S604: Determine a second RSSI.
[0139] The second RSSI is the RSSI of the first PSCCH. The first PSCCH is associated with (or corresponds to) the first SL-PRS, or it can be described as the first SL-PRS being associated with (or corresponding to) the first PSCCH. The association of the first PSCCH with the first SL-PRS means that the first PSCCH is used to indicate the information of the resource for transmitting the first SL-PRS. In other words, to send the first PSCCH resource on subchannel 0, the first SL-PRS resource must be sent. Continuing with Figure 7, SL-PRS1 is associated with PSCCH1, SL-PRS2 is associated with PSCCH2, SL-PRS3 is associated with PSCCH3, and SL-PRS4 is associated with PSCCH4.
[0140] Exemplarily, the first terminal device measures the received power on all RBs corresponding to the first PSCCH or on all RBs in the subchannel corresponding to the first PSCCH, and uses the total number of N symbols corresponding to the first PSCCH for which the received power is present to obtain the second RSSI, where N is a positive integer. In other words, the second RSSI is the average value of the RSSIs of the N symbols corresponding to the first PSCCH, and the average value may be an arithmetic mean or a weighted average.
[0141] Optionally, the bandwidth (or measurement bandwidth) corresponding to the second RSSI is the sub-channel bandwidth corresponding to the first PSCCH, or the transmission bandwidth corresponding to the first PSCCH.
[0142] These N symbols are the symbols where the first PSCCH is located. The N symbols may also be N OFDM symbols. Any of the N OFDM symbols may or may not include an OFDM symbol used for AGC. The RSSI measurement of any of the N symbols does not include the CP length corresponding to that symbol.
[0143] S605: Determine a third RSSI.
[0144] The third RSSI is the RSSI of one or more second PSCCHs. The third RSSI is the average value of the RSSI of the second PSCCH containing M symbols, where M is a positive integer. The M symbols are the symbols where one or more second PSCCHs are located, where M is a positive integer. The M symbols may also be M OFDM symbols. Any of the OFDM symbols may include or may not include an OFDM symbol used for AGC. The RSSI measurement of any of the M symbols does not include the CP length corresponding to the symbol. Any of the one or more second PSCCHs is located in a different subchannel from the first PSCCH.
[0145] Optionally, if the bandwidth (or measurement bandwidth) corresponding to the second RSSI is the subchannel bandwidth corresponding to the first PSCCH, then the bandwidth (or measurement bandwidth) corresponding to the third RSSI is the subchannel bandwidth corresponding to the second PSCCH. If the bandwidth (or measurement bandwidth) corresponding to the second RSSI is the transmission bandwidth corresponding to the first PSCCH, then the bandwidth (or measurement bandwidth) corresponding to the third RSSI is the transmission bandwidth corresponding to the second PSCCH.
[0146] If one or more symbols corresponding to the first RSSI are different, then one or more second PSCCHs are also different. The following describes the cases shown in B1 and B2 respectively.
[0147] B1. If the one or more first symbols corresponding to the first RSSI are symbols used to send the first SL-PRS, then the one or more second PSCCHs are associated with the one or more second SL-PRSs. In this case, the one or more second SL-PRSs are mapped to the same symbol as the first SL-PRS.
[0148] Continuing with Figure 7, taking the first SL-PRS as SL-PRS1 as an example, in this case, the one or more symbols corresponding to the first RSSI are symbols 4 to 7, so the one or more second SL-PRSs are SL-PRS2, and the one or more second PSCCHs are PSCCH2.
[0149] B2. If the one or more first symbols corresponding to the first RSSI are symbols used to send an SL-PRS in the timeslot where the first SL-PRS is located, then the one or more second PSCCHs are associated with the one or more second SL-PRSs. In this case, the one or more second SL-PRSs are mapped to the same timeslot as the first SL-PRS.
[0150] Continuing with Figure 7, taking the first SL-PRS as SL-PRS1 as an example, in this case, the one or more symbols corresponding to the first RSSI include symbols 4 to 7, and symbols 9 to 12, so the one or more second SL-PRSs include SL-PRS2, SL-PRS3 and SL-PRS4, and accordingly, the one or more second PSCCHs include PSCCH2, PSCCH3 and PSCCH4.
[0151] S606: Determine a fourth RSSI based on the first RSSI, the second RSSI, and the third RSSI. The fourth RSSI is the RSSI corresponding to the first SL-PRS.
[0152] Illustratively, the first terminal device determines the fourth RSSI based on the first RSSI and the first ratio. The first ratio is the ratio of the second RSSI to the first summation result, and the first summation result is the sum of the second RSSI and the third RSSI. Determining the fourth RSSI based on the first RSSI and the first ratio may specifically include any of the following methods C1 to C4, which are described below.
[0153] C1. The fourth RSSI is the first product, and the first product is the product of the first RSSI and the first ratio.
[0154] Under C1, an example of a specific calculation formula of the fourth RSSI can be referred to as shown in the following formula (1).
[0155] Among them, RSSI SL-PRS,iIndicates the fourth RSSI, RSSI symbol,i Indicates the first RSSI, RSSI PSCCH,i Indicates the second RSSI, represents the sum of the second RSSI and the third RSSI. i is the first SL-PRS resource index, and j is the resource index of the PSCCH, for example, the subchannel index of the PSCCH.
[0156] In a possible implementation, the above C1 may be applicable to determining the fourth RSSI in the case shown in the above A1.
[0157] For example, continuing with FIG. 7 as an example, and taking one or more symbols including symbols 4 to 7 as an example, the calculation method shown in C1 is introduced by way of example.
[0158] The first terminal device may measure a first RSSI, which may be the average value of the RSSIs of symbols 4 to 7. The first terminal device may measure a second RSSI, which may be the average value of the RSSIs of PSCCH1 from symbol 1 to symbol 2, and a third RSSI, which may be the average value of the RSSIs of PSCCH2 from symbol 1 to symbol 2. The first terminal device may obtain a fourth RSSI according to the above formula (1).
[0159] C2, the fourth RSSI is a second product, and the second product is the product of the first RSSI, the first ratio and the first scaling factor.
[0160] Under C2, an example of a specific calculation formula of the fourth RSSI can be referred to as shown in the following formula (2).
[0161] Among them, α i Indicates the first scaling factor.
[0162] The first scaling factor may be any one of the following D1 to D4, which are described below.
[0163] D1, first value.
[0164] The first value may be the number of SL-PRS resource groups time-division multiplexed in a time slot. A time slot may include L groups of SL-PRS resources, with any two of the L groups being mapped onto different symbols via time-division multiplexing. Within each group of SL-PRS resources, X SL-PRSs may be mapped, with any two of the X SL-PRSs being mapped onto the same symbol via at least one of frequency division, comb division, and code division. L and X are both positive integers. Comb division can also be considered a special form of frequency division. The first value is, for example, 2.
[0165] D2, second value.
[0166] The second value is a ratio between the number of symbols used to transmit the first SL-PRS and the number of the one or more first symbols.
[0167] D3, third value.
[0168] The third value may be preconfigured or predefined in the first terminal device, or may be received by the first terminal device from the first communication apparatus.
[0169] D4, a product of at least two of the first value, the second value, and the third value.
[0170] In a possible implementation, the above C2 may be applicable to determining the fourth RSSI in the case shown in the above A2.
[0171] For example, continuing with FIG. 7 as an example, and taking one or more symbols including symbols 4 to 7 and symbols 9 to 12 as an example, the calculation method shown in C2 is introduced by way of example.
[0172] The first terminal device may measure a first RSSI, in which case the first RSSI may be the average of the RSSIs of symbols 4 to 7 and 9 to 12. The first terminal device may measure a second RSSI, in which case the second RSSI may be the average of the RSSIs of PSCCH1 from symbol 1 to symbol 2, and a third RSSI, in which case the third RSSI may be the average of the RSSIs of PSCCH2 from symbol 1 to symbol 2, PSCCH3 from symbol 1 to symbol 2, and PSCCH4 from symbol 1 to symbol 2. The first terminal device may obtain a fourth RSSI according to the above formula (2).
[0173] Under C1 and C2, it can be considered that the RSSI on the REs occupied by the first SL-PRS is distributed in equal proportion to the RSSI on the PSCCH associated with each SL-PRS.
[0174] C3, the fourth RSSI is the weighted sum of the first product and the second RSSI. The content of the first product can refer to the content of the first product in C1 above.
[0175] Under C3, the fourth RSSI may be the sum of the product of the first product and the first weighting coefficient, and the product of the second RSSI and the second weighting coefficient. The first weighting coefficient is the weighting coefficient corresponding to the first product. The second weighting coefficient is the weighting coefficient corresponding to the second RSSI.
[0176] The first weighting coefficient may be preconfigured or predefined, or may be configured from a network device, for example, the first weighting coefficient is 1 / 2. The second weighting coefficient may be preconfigured or predefined, or may be configured from a network device, for example, the second weighting coefficient is 1 / 2. Optionally, the sum of the first weighting coefficient and the second weighting coefficient may be 1.
[0177] When the first weighting coefficient and the second weighting coefficient are both 1 / 2, an example of a specific calculation formula for the fourth RSSI can be referred to the following formula (3).
[0178] Here, s1 represents the first product.
[0179] Optionally, the first weighting coefficient is The second weighting coefficient is 1 / 2. β is a specific parameter used to compensate for the deviation between the transmit power of the first PSCCH and the transmit power of the first SL-PRS. When the second weighting coefficient is 1 / 2, an example of a specific calculation formula for the fourth RSSI can be referred to the following formula (4).
[0180] Optionally, the first weighting coefficient is γ, and the second weighting coefficient is (1-γ). γ may represent a specific parameter used to adjust the weighting coefficient between the PSCCH and the SL-PRS. When the first weighting coefficient is γ and the second weighting coefficient is (1-γ), an example of a specific calculation formula for the fourth RSSI can be referred to the following formula (5).
[0181] When the first weighting coefficient is γ and the second weighting coefficient is (1-γ)*β, an example of a specific calculation formula of the fourth RSSI can be referred to the following formula (6). SL-PRS,i =γ*s1+(1-γ)*β*RSSI PSCCH,i (6)
[0182] In a possible implementation, the above C3 may be applicable to determining the fourth RSSI in the case shown in the above A1.
[0183] C4, the fourth RSSI is the weighted sum of the second product and the second RSSI. The content of the second product can refer to the content of the second product in C2 above.
[0184] Under C4, the fourth RSSI can be the product of the second product and the third weighting coefficient, and the sum of the product of the second RSSI and the third weighting coefficient. The third weighting coefficient is the weighting coefficient corresponding to the second product. The fourth weighting coefficient is the weighting coefficient corresponding to the second RSSI.
[0185] The third weighting coefficient may be preconfigured or predefined, or may be configured from the network device, for example, the third weighting coefficient is 1 / 2. The fourth weighting coefficient may be preconfigured or predefined, or may be configured from the network device, for example, the fourth weighting coefficient is 1 / 2. Optionally, the sum of the third weighting coefficient and the fourth weighting coefficient may be 1.
[0186] When the third weighting coefficient and the fourth weighting coefficient are both 1 / 2, an example of a specific calculation formula for the fourth RSSI can be referred to the following formula (7).
[0187] Here, s2 represents the second product.
[0188] The third weighting coefficient is When the fourth weighting coefficient is 1 / 2, an example of a specific calculation formula for the fourth RSSI can be referred to the following formula (8).
[0189] When the third weighting coefficient is γ and the fourth weighting coefficient is (1-γ), an example of a specific calculation formula for the fourth RSSI can be referred to the following formula (9).
[0190] When the third weighting coefficient is γ and the fourth weighting coefficient is (1-γ)*β, an example of a specific calculation formula of the fourth RSSI can be referred to the following formula (10). SL-PRS,i =γ*s2+(1-γ)*β*RSSI PSCCH,i (10)
[0191] In a possible implementation, the above C4 may be applicable to determining the fourth RSSI in the case shown in the above A2.
[0192] Optionally, after determining the fourth RSSI, the first terminal device can determine the RSSI of the SL-PRS on each sub-channel by analogy, thereby determining the proportion of sub-channels in the resource pool used to send the first SL-PRS whose RSSI exceeds the first threshold, thereby determining the CBR of the resource pool.
[0193] In an embodiment of the present application, the first terminal device may not need to measure RSSI at the RE level, but may measure RSSI at the symbol level, which may reduce the complexity of RSSI measurement by the first terminal device and facilitate the first terminal device to more quickly measure the RSSI corresponding to the SL-PRS. Furthermore, when measuring the SL-PRS, the first terminal device may relatively flexibly select the number of symbols corresponding to the RSSI measurement, which may facilitate improving the flexibility of RSSI measurement. Furthermore, the first terminal device may also correct the RSSI corresponding to the first SL-PRS based on the RSSI corresponding to the first PSCCH associated with the first SL-PRS, thereby improving the accuracy of the determined fourth RSSI.
[0194] To provide flexibility in determining the RSSI corresponding to the SL-PRS, embodiments of the present application further provide a communication method in which a first terminal device may receive third information indicating selection of a pattern from a pattern set, the pattern set including at least two patterns from among a first pattern, a second pattern, and a third pattern, where the pattern represents a method for determining a fourth RSSI. In this manner, the first terminal device can flexibly determine a method for calculating the fourth RSSI based on the third information, thereby increasing flexibility in determining the fourth RSSI.
[0195] Please refer to Figure 8, which is a schematic diagram of a communication method provided by an embodiment of the present application. Figure 8 illustrates steps S801 to S803, which are described below.
[0196] S801: A first terminal device sends fourth information to a network device. Correspondingly, the network device receives the fourth information from the first terminal device.
[0197] The fourth information may be included in the capability information of the first terminal device, or may be considered as part of the capability information of the first terminal device. The fourth information indicates support for at least one of the first mode, the second mode, and the third mode. The first mode may also be referred to as Mode 1, the second mode may be referred to as Mode 2, and the third mode may be referred to as Mode 3.
[0198] The mode can be considered as a method for determining the RSSI corresponding to the first SL-PRS (such as the fourth RSSI). Accordingly, the first mode, the second mode, and the third mode can be understood as three methods for determining the RSSI corresponding to the first SL-PRS (such as the fourth RSSI). The content of the fourth RSSI can refer to the content of the fourth RSSI discussed in S601 above, and the repeated parts are not listed here. The first mode can also refer to the content of the first mode discussed in S601 above, and the repeated parts are not repeated here. The contents of the second mode and the third mode are introduced below.
[0199] The second mode indicates that the fourth RSSI is determined based on the RSSI of the PSCCH. For example, the second mode specifically indicates that the fourth RSSI is determined based on the second RSSI. The second RSSI is the RSSI of the first PSCCH, and the first SL-PRS is associated with the first PSCCH. For the specific content of the second RSSI, reference can be made to the content of the second RSSI discussed in SS604 above. The third mode indicates that the fourth RSSI is determined based on the RSSI of the SL-PRS at the RE level, specifically, for example, the fourth RSSI is determined based on the fifth RSSI. The fifth RSSI is the RSSI of the first SL-PRS on each RE in multiple resource units RE, and the multiple REs are REs corresponding to the symbols used to transmit the first SL-PRS.
[0200] In another possible implementation, the first terminal device may be preconfigured or predefined to support the first mode, the second mode, the third mode, etc. In this case, there is no need to send the fourth information, that is, there is no need to execute the above-mentioned step S801, that is, the step S801 is an optional step, which is indicated by a dotted line in Figure 8.
[0201] S802: The network device sends third information to the first terminal device. Correspondingly, the first terminal device receives the third information from the network device.
[0202] The third information indicates a mode selected from a mode set, or can be understood as the third information instructing the first terminal device to use a mode in the mode set to determine the fourth RSSI, or can be understood as the third information instructing the first terminal device to use a mode to determine the fourth RSSI. The mode set includes the first mode, the second mode, and the third mode.
[0203] In one possible implementation, the third information indicates that a selected mode belongs to a mode supported by the first terminal device. For example, a mode indicated by the third information is related to a mode indicated by the fourth information, and an example is given below with reference to the situations shown in D1-D6.
[0204] D1. The fourth information indicates that the first terminal device supports the first mode, and the third information indicates that the selected mode is the first mode.
[0205] D2. The fourth information indicates that the first terminal device supports the second mode, and the third information indicates that the selected mode is the second mode.
[0206] D3. The fourth information indicates that the first terminal device supports the first mode and the second mode, and the third information indicates that the selected mode is the first mode or the second mode.
[0207] D4. The fourth information indicates that the first terminal device supports the second mode and the third mode, and the third information indicates that the selected mode is the second mode or the third mode.
[0208] D5. The fourth information indicates that the first terminal device supports the first mode and the third mode, and the third information indicates that the selected mode is the first mode or the third mode.
[0209] D6. The fourth information indicates that the first terminal device supports the first mode, the second mode, and the third mode, and the third information indicates that the selected mode is the first mode, the second mode, or the third mode.
[0210] In another possible implementation, the first terminal device is pre-configured or pre-defined to support the first mode, the second mode, and the third mode, etc., and then step S801 may not be performed, that is, step S801 is optional. In this case, the third information indicates that the selected mode is the first mode, the second mode, or the third mode.
[0211] In the case where the first terminal device supports at least two modes among the first mode, the second mode and the third mode, there may be multiple ways for the network device to determine a selected mode, which are described in the following examples.
[0212] E1. The network device determines, based on the processing resources available to the first terminal device, that a selected mode is a mode adapted to the processing resources.
[0213] The processing resources available to the first terminal device may be sent by the first terminal device to the network device, for example, information about the available processing resources may be carried in the fourth information. The fewer processing resources available to the first terminal device, the less complex the mode may be selected by the network device.
[0214] For example, if the processing resources available to the first terminal device are greater than or equal to a first quantity, the selected mode is determined to be the third mode. Alternatively, if the processing resources available to the first terminal device are greater than or equal to a second quantity, but less than the second quantity, the selected mode is determined to be the second mode. Alternatively, if the processing resources available to the first terminal device are less than the second quantity, the selected mode is determined to be the first mode. The first quantity is greater than the second quantity, and the first quantity and the second quantity may be preconfigured in the network device.
[0215] E2. The network device determines, based on the priority of the first SL-PRS, that a selected mode is a mode adapted to the priority of the first SL-PRS.
[0216] The network device receives the priority of the first SL-PRS from the first terminal device, for example, information about the priority of the first SL-PRS may be carried in the fourth information. The lower the priority of the first SL-PRS, the less complex the mode may be selected by the network device.
[0217] For example, if the priority of the first SL-PRS is higher than or equal to the first priority, the selected mode is determined to be the third mode. Alternatively, if the priority of the first SL-PRS is higher than or equal to the second priority but lower than the first priority, the selected mode is determined to be the second mode. Alternatively, if the priority of the first SL-PRS is lower than the first priority, the selected mode is determined to be the first mode. The first priority is higher than the second priority.
[0218] It should be understood that the above E1 and E2 are just examples of how the network device selects a mode. In fact, there are many other ways to select a mode for the network device, and the embodiments of the present application do not specifically limit this.
[0219] S803: The first terminal device determines a fourth RSSI based on a selected mode.
[0220] The first terminal device may determine a selected mode based on the third information. Different selected modes may lead to different ways for the first terminal device to determine the fourth RSSI, which are described below.
[0221] F1. The selected mode is the first mode. The first terminal device can determine the fourth RSSI based on the first RSSI, the second RSSI, and the third RSSI.
[0222] The first RSSI is the RSSI of one or more first symbols, and the one or more first symbols include a symbol for sending the first SL-PRS. The content of the one or more symbols can refer to the content discussed in A1 or A2 in Figure 6 above, and the repeated parts are not listed again. The second RSSI is the RSSI of the first PSCCH, and the first SL-PRS is associated with the first PSCCH. The third RSSI is the RSSI of one or more second PSCCHs, and the first PSCCH and the one or more second PSCCHs are on different subchannels. The content of the first PSCCH and the one or more second PSCCHs can refer to the content of the first PSCCH and the one or more second PSCCHs discussed in Figure 6 above, respectively, and the repeated parts are not listed again.
[0223] The first terminal device may determine the first RSSI, the second RSSI, and the third RSSI. The specific content of determining the fourth RSSI may refer to the content discussed in the previous S606, and the repeated parts will not be listed here.
[0224] F2. The selected mode is the second mode, and the first terminal device can determine the fourth RSSI based on the second RSSI.
[0225] The content of the second RSSI can be found in the second RSSI mentioned in S604 above and will not be repeated here. Since the channel environment of the first PSCCH and the first SL-PRS is essentially the same and they are interrelated, ideally, the second RSSI is equal to the fourth RSSI. Therefore, at F2, the second RSSI can be compensated to obtain the fourth RSSI. For example, the fourth RSSI is the product of the second RSSI and the second scaling factor.
[0226] Under F2, a calculation formula for determining the fourth RSSI may refer to the following formula (11).
[0227] RRSSI SL-PRS,i =g×RSSI PSCCH,i (11)
[0228] Among them, RRSSI SL-PRS,i represents the fourth RSSI, g represents the second scaling factor, RSSI PSCCH,i Indicates the second RSSI.
[0229] Optionally, the value of the second scaling factor is, for example, 1. The second scaling factor may be preconfigured or predefined in the first terminal device, or may be obtained by the first terminal device from the network device.
[0230] F3. The selected mode is the third mode. The first terminal device can determine the fourth RSSI according to the fifth RSSI and the second RSSI.
[0231] The fifth RSSI is the RSSI of the first SL-PRS on each of the multiple REs, where the multiple REs are REs corresponding to the symbols used to transmit the first SL-PRS. For example, the first terminal device measures the RSSI of the first SL-PRS on each of the multiple REs to obtain multiple RSSIs, and sums the multiple RSSIs to obtain the fifth RSSI. The first terminal device may perform a weighted summation on the fifth RSSI and the second RSSI to obtain the fourth RSSI. The weighting coefficient corresponding to the fifth RSSI and the weighting coefficient of the second RSSI may be preconfigured or predefined in the terminal device, or may be received from a network device. Optionally, the value of the weighting coefficient corresponding to the fifth RSSI may be the value of the first weighting coefficient mentioned above, and the value of the weighting coefficient corresponding to the second RSSI may be the value of the second weighting coefficient mentioned above.
[0232] The above-mentioned S803 is an optional step, which is indicated by a dotted line in FIG8 .
[0233] Optionally, after determining the fourth RSSI, the first terminal device can determine the RSSI of the SL-PRS on each sub-channel by analogy, thereby determining the proportion of sub-channels in the resource pool used to send the first SL-PRS whose RSSI exceeds the first threshold, thereby determining the CBR of the resource pool.
[0234] In an embodiment of the present application, the network device can flexibly instruct the first terminal device to use a mode for determining the fourth RSSI, thereby improving the flexibility of determining the RSSI and meeting the computing requirements of different terminal devices.
