Abstract
Description
Footrest for vehicle seat
[0001] The disclosed subject matter relates to a footrest for a vehicle seat that is installed on the back of the backrest of a vehicle seat to allow a rear seat passenger to place his or her feet.
[0002] Unless otherwise indicated herein, the materials described in this section are not prior art to the claims of this application, and their inclusion in this section is not intended to be admitted as prior art.
[0003] Typically, vehicles are equipped with vehicle seats that support the occupants so that they can sit and maintain a sitting position while the vehicle is in motion.
[0004] Vehicle seats are usually composed of a seat section that supports the passenger's lower body and a backrest section that supports the passenger's upper body, which can be adjusted at an angle.
[0005] Meanwhile, in the case of vehicles such as passenger cars, infants and children tend to ride in the back seat more often than the front seat. In this case, infants and children are more exposed to the risk of injury in the event of a traffic accident because their feet do not touch the floor of the vehicle.
[0006] As an example of a vehicle seat for solving such problems, Korean Patent Publication No. 10-2014-0115573 (published on October 1, 2014) discloses a vehicle seat including a seat cushion on which the user's lower body is positioned, a seat back foldably connected to the upper portion of the seat cushion, and an airbag mounted on the seat back and deployed when an impact greater than a predetermined value is detected, wherein the seat back is switchable between an upright state and a state folded onto the seat cushion.
[0007] In addition, Republic of Korea Utility Model Publication No. 20-1999-0025948 (published on July 15, 1999) discloses a child safety seat for a vehicle, characterized by comprising: first and second containers positioned at the lower portion of a vehicle package tray panel and the lower portion of a rear seat, respectively; a tube protection seat stored in the containers and expanded into a pre-formed seat shape by supplying air; a tube mat stored in the second container and expanded into a pre-formed shape by supplying air; and an inflator / deflator positioned at the lower portion of the package tray panel and supplying air to the tube protection seat and the tube mat or sucking in the air filled therein under a predetermined control.
[0008] In addition, Republic of Korea Utility Model Publication No. 20-1997-0017022 (published on May 23, 1997) discloses a rear seat of a vehicle having a child restraint configured to support the head of a passenger or restrain the body of a child, such that a backrest frame having a fixed end formed by welding and fixed in a fixed groove is built into the backrest of a rear seat chair and protrudes into an open movable groove, and a headrest frame having a fixed end having insertion pins protruding on both sides so as to be hingedly connected to the fixed end is built into the headrest of the rear seat chair.
[0009] However, in the case of conventional vehicle seats as mentioned above, the feet of infants or children riding in the back seat do not touch the floor of the vehicle, which not only creates psychological anxiety throughout the vehicle ride, but also has the problem of having to rely solely on the support of the car seat or seat belt in the event of an actual traffic accident.
[0010] The purpose of this invention is to provide a footrest for a vehicle seat that can continuously provide psychological stability to infants or children riding in the back seat of a vehicle by always supporting the feet of the infant or child riding in the back seat of the vehicle by a footrest member installed on a support plate attached to the backrest of the front seat while the vehicle is in motion.
[0011] In addition, the position of the footrest member can be adjusted to an appropriate height regardless of the height of the infant or child, the sitting posture, or the presence or type of car seat, so that the infant or child can sit more comfortably and stably while the vehicle is being driven, and the cost and resources related to replacing the footrest can be saved, thereby providing a footrest for a vehicle seat.
[0012] In addition, it is obvious that the technical tasks are not limited to the technical tasks described above, and that other technical tasks may be derived from the following description.
[0013] According to a preferred feature of the disclosed content, the footrest member can be installed on the back surface of the backrest part in a height-adjustable manner by the support plate and the height-adjusting means provided on the footrest member.
[0014] According to a preferred feature of the disclosed content, the height adjustment means may include a plurality of first horizontal zipper members spaced apart from each other on the back surface of the support plate, and a second horizontal zipper member provided on the foot member and selectively coupled to one of the plurality of first horizontal zipper members.
[0015] According to a preferred feature of the disclosed content, the height adjustment means may include a fastening groove formed in a plurality of rows and columns spaced apart from each other in the up, down, left, and right directions on the back surface of the support plate, and a hook member provided on the front surface of the foot member and corresponding to a fastening groove forming one row of the fastening grooves of the support frame member.
[0016] According to a preferred feature of the disclosed content, the height adjustment means may include a plurality of vertical rail grooves that are provided spaced apart left and right on the back surface of the support plate and extend in the vertical direction by a certain length, and a plurality of vertical rails that are provided spaced apart left and right on the front surface of the foot member and are simultaneously connected to the vertical rail grooves but have a length shorter than the length of the vertical rail grooves.
[0017] According to a preferred feature of the disclosed content, the height adjustment means may include a plurality of horizontal rail grooves spaced apart vertically on the back surface of the support plate, and horizontal rails provided on the front surface of the foot member in a number corresponding to a smaller number than the number of horizontal rail grooves and selectively coupled to only some of the horizontal rail grooves.
[0018] According to a preferred feature of the disclosed content, the height adjustment means may include a first Velcro tape member provided on the back surface of the support plate, and a second Velcro tape member provided on the front surface of the foot plate member and having a vertical length shorter than the vertical length of the first Velcro tape member and being connected to the first Velcro tape member so as to be positionally adjustable in the vertical direction.
[0019] According to a preferred feature of the disclosed content, the height adjustment means may include a first snap button member provided on the back surface of the support plate to form a plurality of rows and columns spaced apart from each other in the up, down, left, and right directions, and a second snap button member provided on the front surface of the foot member and corresponding to some rows of the first snap button member, and selectively coupled to only some rows of the first snap button member.
[0020] According to the footrest for a vehicle seat as described above, the feet of an infant or child riding in the rear seat of a vehicle are always supported by a footrest member installed on a support plate attached to the backrest of the front seat while the vehicle is in motion, so there is an advantage in that psychological stability can be continuously provided to the infant or child while the vehicle is in motion.
[0021] In addition, according to the vehicle seat footrest as described above, since the position of the footrest member can be adjusted to an appropriate height by various types of height adjustment means, infants or children can sit more comfortably and stably while the vehicle is running regardless of the height of the infant or child, the sitting posture, or the presence or type of car seat, and there is an advantage that the cost and resources related to replacing the footrest can be saved.
[0022] The effects of the present invention are not limited to the effects mentioned above, and other effects not mentioned will be clearly understood by those skilled in the art from the description of the claims.

[0031] Hereinafter, the configuration and operational effects of a preferred embodiment will be described with reference to the attached drawings. Note that in the drawings below, each component is omitted or schematically illustrated for convenience and clarity, and the size of each component does not reflect its actual size. Furthermore, throughout the specification, the same reference numerals designate the same components, and drawing numbers for identical components are omitted in individual drawings.
[0032]
[0033] A footrest (1) for a vehicle seat according to one embodiment of the disclosed content includes, as shown in FIG. 1, a support plate (10) coupled to the back surface of a backrest portion (4) of a vehicle seat (2), and a footrest member (20) installed on the back surface of the support plate (10) so as to support the feet of a passenger seated in a rear seat (not shown) located at the rear of the vehicle seat (2).
[0034] First, a vehicle seat (2) on which a footrest (1) for a vehicle seat according to an embodiment of the disclosed content is installed corresponds to a seat installed in a vehicle such as a passenger car, and has a structure in which a backrest (4) for supporting the upper body, particularly the back, of the passenger is connected to a seat portion (3) for supporting the lower body of the passenger so as to be angle-adjustable. Since the vehicle seat (2) corresponds to a conventional vehicle seat that is already known, further detailed description thereof will be omitted here for the sake of simplicity of the specification.
[0035] Meanwhile, the vehicle seat (2) corresponds to the front seat located directly in front of the rear seat where the passenger who will use the footrest member (20) described later is seated. However, it is obvious that the front-rear relationship between the vehicle seat (2) and the rear seat is relative. Accordingly, in the case of a two-row passenger vehicle, the vehicle seat (2) may be the first-row seats corresponding to the driver's seat and the passenger's seat, and in the case of a three-row passenger vehicle, the vehicle seat (2) may be the first-row seats corresponding to the driver's seat and the passenger's seat and the second-row seats directly behind them.
[0036] In the vehicle seat (2) described above, a support plate (10) is attached to the back surface of the backrest (4). The support plate (10) corresponds to a frame on which a footrest member (20) to be described later is installed, and is preferably made of a synthetic resin material that is rigid yet lightweight, but may also be made of an elastic resin material or a foamed resin material, and may be made of various materials such as wood, metal, etc. The support plate (10) may further include a separate cover or outer skin.
[0037] This support plate (10) may be installed integrally on the back surface of the backrest (4) of the vehicle seat (2), but may also be detachably installed on the back surface of the backrest (4) of the vehicle seat (2).
[0038] In the latter case, a hook portion that is hooked to the upper part of the backrest part (4) of the vehicle seat (2) may be formed on the upper side of the support plate (10), a strap that is hooked while surrounding the headrest rod (5) of the vehicle seat (2) may be provided, and a headrest rod coupling member (11) that is detachably coupled to each headrest rod (5) of the vehicle seat (2) may be provided. In addition, an insert coupling member (12) that is detachably inserted between the backrest part (4) and the seat part (3) of the vehicle seat (2) may be formed to protrude forward on the lower side of the support plate (10).
[0039] A footrest member (20) is installed on the back surface of the aforementioned support plate (10). The footrest member (20) supports the feet of passengers seated in the rear seat located at the rear of the vehicle seat (2), thereby providing psychological stability and a comfortable posture while driving the vehicle, especially to infants and children whose feet do not rest on the vehicle floor.
[0040] These footing members (20) can be manufactured from various materials, such as rigid synthetic resin material, elastic resin material, foam cushion material, air tube material, wood, etc., and although the shape is shown as a right-angled triangular prism extending horizontally, they can be manufactured in various shapes, such as a square prism, a cylinder, etc.
[0041] In addition, the footrest member (20) may be installed in a fixed position on the back surface of the support plate (10) as illustrated in FIG. 1, but it is preferable that the footrest member (20) be installed in a height-adjustable manner on the back surface of the support plate (10) by various types of height-adjusting means (30, 40, 50, 60, 70, 80) provided on the support plate (10) and the footrest member (20) as illustrated in FIGS. 2 to 8. In the latter case, the footrest member (20) can be adjusted to an appropriate height regardless of the height or sitting posture of the infant or child, or the presence or type of car seat, so that the infant or child can sit more comfortably and stably while the vehicle is driving, and the cost and resources associated with replacing the footrest (1) for the vehicle seat of the disclosed content due to the growth of the infant or child can be saved.
[0042] The height adjustment means (30) that enables height adjustment of the footing member (20) with respect to the support plate (10) may include, as shown in FIG. 3, a plurality of first horizontal zipper members (31) that are provided vertically spaced apart from each other on the back surface of the support plate (10), and a second horizontal zipper member (31) that is provided on the footing member (20) and selectively coupled to one of the plurality of first horizontal zipper members (31).
[0043] In the case of the height adjustment means (30), by combining the second horizontal zipper member (31) provided on the foot member (20) with one first horizontal zipper member (31) selected at an appropriate height among a plurality of first horizontal zipper members (31) provided at different heights on the back surface of the support plate (10), the combined height of the foot member (20) can be adjusted to a level corresponding to the number of first horizontal zipper members (31).
[0044] In addition, the height adjustment means (40) that enables the height adjustment of the footing member (20) with respect to the support plate (10) may include, as shown in FIG. 4, a plurality of fastening grooves (41) that are spaced apart from each other in the upper, lower, left, and right directions on the back surface of the support plate (10) and formed to form a plurality of rows and columns, and a hook member (42) that is provided on the front surface of the footing member (20) and corresponds to a fastening groove (41) that forms one row among the fastening grooves (41).
[0045] In the case of the height adjustment means (40) having the structure described above, by connecting the hook member (42) provided on the foot member (20) to one row of fastening grooves (41) selected at an appropriate height among the plurality of rows of fastening grooves (41) provided at different heights on the back surface of the support plate (10), the mounting height of the foot member (20) can be adjusted to a level corresponding to the number of rows of fastening grooves (41).
[0046] In addition, the height adjustment means (50) that enables height adjustment of the footing member (20) with respect to the support plate (10) may include, as shown in FIG. 5, a plurality of vertical rail grooves (51) that are provided spaced apart left and right on the back surface of the support plate (10) and extend vertically by a certain length, and a plurality of vertical rails (52) that are provided spaced apart left and right on the front surface of the footing member (20) and are simultaneously coupled to the vertical rail grooves (51) but have a length shorter than the length of the vertical rail grooves (51). At this time, it is preferable that the lower end of the vertical rail groove (51) is closed, and it is preferable that a corresponding multi-stage groove-protrusion structure is applied to the corresponding surfaces of the vertical rail grooves (51) and the vertical rails (52).
[0047] In the case of the height adjustment means (50) having the structure described above, a plurality of vertical rails (52) having a relatively short length are simultaneously connected to a plurality of vertical rail grooves (51) having a relatively long length, and the height of the footrest member (20) can be continuously adjusted as they slide in the up-and-down direction.
[0048] In addition, the height adjustment means (60) that enables height adjustment of the footrest member (20) with respect to the support plate (10) may include, as illustrated in FIG. 6, a plurality of horizontal rail grooves (61) that are provided spaced apart from each other vertically on the back surface of the backrest portion of the support plate (10), and horizontal rails (62) that are provided on the front surface of the footrest member (20) but are provided in a number smaller than the number of horizontal rail grooves (61) and are selectively coupled to only some of the horizontal rail grooves (61). At this time, it is preferable that one end of the horizontal rail groove (61) be closed, and a corresponding multi-stage groove-protrusion structure may be applied to the corresponding surfaces of the horizontal rail grooves (61) and the horizontal rail (62).
[0049] In the case of the height adjustment means (60) having the structure described above, the mounting height of the footing member (20) can be adjusted by connecting the horizontal rail (62) provided on the footing member (20) to one or more horizontal rail grooves (61) selected at an appropriate height among a plurality of horizontal rail grooves (61) provided at different heights on the back surface of the support plate (10).
[0050] In addition, the height adjustment means (70) that enables height adjustment of the footrest member (20) with respect to the support plate (10) may include, as illustrated in FIG. 7, a first Velcro tape member (71) provided on the back surface of the support plate (10), and a second Velcro tape member (72) provided on the front surface of the footrest member (20) and having a vertical length shorter than the vertical length of the first Velcro tape member (71) and coupled to the first Velcro tape member (71) so as to be positionally adjustable in the vertical direction.
