Description

Method and system for providing location information

[0001] The present disclosure relates to a method and system for providing location information. More specifically, the present disclosure relates to a method and system for providing location information for a user using a user terminal by estimating the location of the user terminal that has received a broadcast signal from a beacon display device based on the location of the beacon display device.

[0002] The present disclosure also relates to a content identification method and system thereof. More specifically, the present disclosure relates to a content identification method and system thereof that identifies content by analyzing a broadcast signal transmitted from a beacon transmitting device.

[0003] Recently, with the rapid development of technology, new media such as digital signage devices have emerged in addition to the traditional media such as newspapers and television to provide advertising.

[0004] In particular, it has become possible to provide advertisements to pedestrians moving around in various areas by using mobile advertising media such as displays installed on vehicles such as taxis and buses.

[0005] With the emergence of mobile advertising media, there is an increasing demand for advertising using mobile advertising media on vehicles that move across various regions.

[0006] However, the problem with mobile advertising media, as well as traditional static advertising media, is that it's impossible to identify who saw the ad. If advertisers could identify who saw the ad through advertising media, they could continuously expose the ad to those who saw it, ultimately driving purchases of the advertised product, thereby increasing the effectiveness of the ad.

[0007] Accordingly, a technology is required that can maximize the effectiveness of advertising by continuously exposing advertisements to the terminals of passersby who are likely to have seen the advertisement while moving around the advertising medium, not only in the case of existing static advertising media but also in the case of mobile advertising media.

[0008] The technical problem to be solved by the present disclosure is to provide a location information providing method and system for providing location information of a user using a user terminal by estimating the location of a user terminal that has received a broadcast signal from a beacon display device through the location of the beacon display device.

[0049] Hereinafter, some embodiments of the present disclosure will be described in detail with reference to the attached drawings.

[0050] FIG. 1 is a system configuration diagram of a content identification method according to some embodiments of the present disclosure. Referring to FIG. 1, a content identification system according to some embodiments of the present disclosure includes a beacon transmitting device (10), a computing device (11), and a service server (12). The beacon transmitting device (10) and the computing device (11) are connected via a short-range wireless communication method, and the computing device (11) and the service server (12) are connected via a network.

[0051] The beacon transmitter (10) may be a mobile advertising device, such as a display device mounted on a vehicle such as a taxi (10a) or a bus (10b), or may be a static advertising device attached to the exterior wall or rooftop of a building (10c). The beacon transmitter (10) may display content according to a content transmission plan provided by a service server (12).

[0052] The computing device (11) can scan a broadcasting signal transmitted from a beacon transmitting device (10) in a short-range wireless communication manner, extract an identifier corresponding to the beacon transmitting device (10) from the scanned broadcasting signal, and transmit the extracted identifier to the service server (12). The computing device (11) can detect a broadcasting signal transmitted from a beacon transmitting device (10) attached to a taxi, bus, or building, and can serve to identify a user who may have viewed content transmitted from the beacon transmitting device (10).

[0053] The service server (12) can receive an identifier corresponding to the beacon transmitting device (10) from the computing device (11) and transmit content identification information corresponding to the received identifier to the computing device (11). Since the content identification information is stored in the service server (12), the service server (12) can specify and provide the type of content according to the signal received by the computing device (11) from the beacon transmitting device (10) to the computing device (11). The service server (12) is a device that can control and manage information related to content transmission of all registered beacon transmitting devices (10), and is a server operated by the same operating entity as the beacon transmitting device (10).

[0054] Hereinafter, a content identification method according to one embodiment of the present disclosure will be described with reference to FIG. 2. FIG. 2 is a flowchart illustrating some operations related to a content identification method according to one embodiment of the present disclosure.

[0055] Referring to FIG. 2, a computing device (11) can scan a broadcast signal transmitted from a beacon transmitter (10) in a short-range wireless communication manner using a scanner (S200). The short-range wireless communication method may adopt BLE (Bluetooth Low Energy) communication and beacon-based wireless communication, which is a mobile location-based service utilizing BLE communication, but is not necessarily limited to the above communication method, and any form of short-range wireless communication capable of low-power can be adopted. The broadcast signal may include a beacon identification number that can identify the beacon transmitter (10).

[0056] The job scheduler is a method of effectively allocating and determining the order when multiple jobs are requested within the kernel. By registering the scanner in the job scheduler of the internal operating system of the computing device (11), the computing device can scan the broadcast signal transmitted from the beacon transmitter (10) only when the job scheduler activates the scanner. The job scheduler activating the scanner means that the job scheduler treats the task of scanning the broadcast signal as a single task and assigns it to the job queue at a regular interval, thereby enabling the scanner to be executed at a regular interval by the job scheduler. The interval at which the job scheduler activates the scanner may be every minute since low-power short-range wireless communication must be implemented, but it is natural that the activation interval may vary depending on the situation.

[0057] Since the above broadcast signal includes a beacon identification number that can identify the beacon transmitting device (10), the computing device (11) can distinguish that the broadcast signal is received from the beacon transmitting device (10) through the beacon identification number.

[0058] The computing device (11) can extract an identifier corresponding to the beacon transmitting device (10) from the scanned broadcast signal (S300). The identifier corresponding to the beacon transmitting device (10) is distinct from the identifier (ID) of the beacon transmitting device (10) of FIG. 3, and the beacon transmitting device (10) that transmitted the broadcast signal can be identified from the identifier corresponding to the beacon transmitting device (10).

[0059] When the computing device (11) extracts an identifier corresponding to the beacon transmitting device (10) from the broadcasting signal, the computing device (11) can transmit the extracted identifier corresponding to the beacon transmitting device (10) to the service server (S400). It is preferable that the period in which the computing device (11) transmits the identifier corresponding to the beacon transmitting device (10) to the service server be shorter than the period in which specific content is displayed. For example, if the beacon transmitting device (10) transmits specific content for 1 hour, the computing device (11) preferably transmits the identifier corresponding to the extracted beacon transmitting device (10) to the service server once every 10 minutes in accordance with the time at which the beacon transmitting device (10) transmits the specific content, in order to accurately receive content identification information regarding the content transmitted by the beacon transmitting device (10). However, it is not necessarily limited to the above example, and it is sufficient if the period in which the computing device (11) transmits the identifier corresponding to the beacon transmitting device (10) to the service server is set to be shorter than the period in which a specific content is displayed. In this case, the service server (12) can store the time at which the identifier corresponding to the beacon transmitting device extracted from the computing device (11) is received, and can use the received identifier to determine content identification information later.

[0060] When the service server (12) receives an identifier corresponding to a beacon transmitting device (10) extracted from a computing device (11), the service server (12) can determine content identification information for content corresponding to the received identifier and transmit the determined content identification information (30) to the computing device (11) (S500). The content corresponding to the received identifier refers to content displayed on the beacon transmitting device (10) at the time when the beacon transmitting device (10) transmitted a broadcast signal. The content identification information (30) for the content contains unique information for each beacon transmitting device (10) and is assumed to be stored in the database of the service server in advance. The service server can specify the content transmitted through the beacon transmitting device (10) through the identifier corresponding to the received beacon transmitting device (10). The method by which the service server (12) determines the content identification information (30) will be described in detail later with reference to FIG. 3.

[0061] According to this embodiment, in providing outdoor advertising using a beacon transmitting device, by identifying a terminal of a user who moved around the beacon transmitting device and identifying content transmitted from the beacon transmitting device when the user moved near the beacon transmitting device, it is possible to identify a user who is likely to have viewed the transmitted content.

[0062] Hereinafter, with reference to FIG. 3, a method for a service server (12) to determine content identification information (30) for content will be described. FIG. 3 is a diagram illustrating content identification information according to a content identification method according to an embodiment of the present disclosure. Referring to FIG. 3, the content identification information of each beacon transmission device (10) may include information regarding an identifier (ID) (31) of the beacon transmission device, location information (32) of the beacon transmission device, a content identifier (ID) (33), and a transmission time (34) of the content. However, the method for the service server (12) to determine content identification information for content is not limited to the method to be described below, and it is of course possible to determine content identification information for content in sufficiently different ways.

[0063] The identifier (ID) (31) of the beacon transmitting device indicates a unique identifier of each beacon transmitting device (10), and since each beacon transmitting device (10) has a unique value, it can serve to distinguish each beacon transmitting device (10).

[0064] The content identifier (ID) (33) may be composed of a combination of the content provider and the provided serial number. For example, if the content provided by the beacon transmitting device (10) is content number 001 provided by NIKE, the content ID (33) may be specified as NIKE001. Through the content identifier (ID) (33), it is easy to determine which content the beacon transmitting device (10) transmitted.

[0065] The content transmission time (34) refers to the time at which the beacon transmission device (10) emitted the first broadcast signal. For example, the service server (12) can record that the content having the content identifier (ID) NIKE001 was transmitted from 5:00 PM to 6:00 PM on July 14, 2023. By recording the content transmission time (34) by the service server (12), it is possible to easily track what content the beacon transmission device (10) transmitted at the time at which the beacon transmission device (10) emitted the first broadcast signal.

[0066] The location information (32) of the content identification device may include information regarding a sector in which the beacon transmitting device (10) is located among sectors that divide a specific area into multiple zones. In this case, the specific area may be an area adjacent to any one of the roads or intersections set in advance, and each sector may be a geographical area adjacent to any one of the roads or intersections above. The location information (32) of the content identification device may be expressed as a combination of a specific road name and a sector number, as illustrated in FIG. 4. For ease of understanding, a method of expressing the location information of the content identification device will be described below with reference to FIG. 4.

[0067] FIG. 4 is a diagram representing location information of a beacon transmitting device according to a content identification method according to one embodiment of the present disclosure. The location of the beacon transmitting device (10) can be specified by a road name and a sector dividing the road name, as shown in FIG. 4. For example, a section within a 50-meter radius from the Sinnonhyeon Station intersection can be named Gangnam-daero Sector 03, and a section within a 50-meter radius from the Gangnam Station intersection can be named Gangnam-daero Sector 04. Similarly, a section within a 50-meter radius from the Unju Station intersection can be named Nonhyeon-ro Sector 03, and a section within a 50-meter radius from the Yeoksam Station intersection can be named Nonhyeon-ro Sector 04. Referring to FIG. 4, since the beacon transmitting device (41) attached to a taxi is located within a 50-meter radius from the Gangnam Station intersection, the location information of the beacon transmitting device (41) attached to the taxi is determined as Gangnam-daero Sector 04 (42). Likewise, since the beacon transmitter (43) attached to the roof of the building is located in Nonhyeon-ro Sector 03 (44), the location information of the beacon transmitter (43) attached to the roof of the building is determined as Nonhyeon-ro Sector 03 (44).

[0068] As shown in FIG. 4, even if the location of the beacon transmitting device (41, 43) is specified by the road name and the sector dividing it, the user of the computing device (11) that received the broadcast signal of the beacon transmitting device (41, 43) around the location may have viewed the content transmitted from the beacon transmitting device (41, 43), so the computing device (11) of the user who moved around the beacon transmitting device (41, 43) and the user who may have viewed the content transmitted from the beacon transmitting device (41, 43) can be specified.

[0069] According to the present embodiment, the computing device (11) receives a broadcast signal from a beacon transmitting device, extracts an identifier corresponding to the beacon transmitting device (10) from the received broadcast signal, and transmits the identifier to the service server (12). The service server (12) has the advantage of being able to easily track what content was viewed at what location by the user using the computing device (11) using the identifier of the beacon transmitting device at the time when the beacon transmitting device (10) emitted the first broadcast signal.

[0070] Hereinafter, with reference to FIG. 5, a method for a computing device (11) to display content according to content identification information will be described. FIG. 5 is a flowchart illustrating some operations related to a content identification method according to one embodiment of the present disclosure.

[0071] Referring to FIG. 5, in the step (S500) where the computing device (11) receives content identification information determined by the service server (12), the computing device (11) can receive content according to the content identification information and display conditions according to the content identification information from the service server (12) along with the content identification information (S501). The content according to the content identification information refers to content viewed by a user using the computing device (11) at the time when the beacon transmission device (10) transmitted the first broadcast signal.

[0072] In one embodiment, the display condition of content according to content identification information may be when a target application is activated within a predetermined time from the time when the computing device (11) receives the content identification information from the service server (12). In this case, the target application may be an application serviced by a first server operated by an operating entity different from the service server (12). The predetermined time from the time when the computing device (11) receives the content identification information from the service server (12) may mean a short time of less than 10 minutes from the time when the computing device (11) receives the content identification information from the service server (12), but is not limited thereto.

[0073] By setting the case where the target application is activated within a predetermined time from the time when the computing device (11) receives content identification information from the service server (12) as a display condition of the content, there is an advantage in that the content transmitted by the beacon transmitting device (10) can be continuously displayed through the target application, for example, a third-party application, which is serviced by a first server operated by an operating entity different from the service server (12) while the user carrying the computing device (11) is in proximity to the beacon transmitting device (10), thereby maximizing the content promotion effect.

[0074] If the display conditions described above are satisfied, the computing device (11) can display content according to the content identification information on the screen UI (User Interface) of the computing device (11) (S600). FIG. 6 is a diagram illustrating a screen on which content according to the content identification information is displayed according to one embodiment of the present disclosure.

[0075] Referring to FIG. 6, the content (60) transmitted by the beacon transmitting device is A, and the computing device (11) receives content identification information determined by the service server (12), content according to the content identification information, and content display conditions according to the content identification information from the service server, and assumes that the target application (61a) is executed by a click (62) within a predetermined time from the time of receiving the content identification information within the computing device (11) according to the content display conditions. As the target application (61a) is executed (63), the computing device (11) displays an execution screen (61b) of the target application (61a) on the screen UI, and the displayed execution screen (61b) may display the operation details (61c) of the target application (61a) and the content (61d) transmitted by the beacon transmitting device.

[0076] According to this embodiment, when providing an advertisement using a beacon transmitting device (10), the terminal of a user who has moved around the beacon transmitting device (10) is identified, and when the user moves near the beacon transmitting device, the content transmitted from the beacon transmitting device is continuously displayed on the computing device (11) carried by the user, thereby maximizing the content promotion effect.

[0077] In one embodiment, the broadcast signal transmitted to the beacon transmitting device (10) may be transmitted only while a specific first type of content is being displayed. In this case, the first type of content may be advertisement type content.

[0078] According to this embodiment, for a content provider who wants to maximize the content promotion effect, when providing advertisements using a beacon transmission device, the content promotion effect can be maximized by specifying a user's terminal that has moved around the beacon transmission device and continuously displaying the content transmitted from the beacon transmission device on the user's terminal when the user moves near the beacon transmission device. At the same time, in the case of a content provider whose purpose is to transmit content rather than to promote content (e.g., a public service advertisement provider), there is an advantage in that power waste can be prevented by preventing the beacon transmission device from transmitting a broadcast signal.

[0079] Hereinafter, a content identification method according to another embodiment of the present disclosure will be described with reference to FIGS. 7 to 10. FIG. 7 is a block diagram of a content identification system according to some embodiments of the present disclosure.

[0080] Referring to FIG. 7, the content identification system may be composed of a computing system (71) comprising a beacon transmission device (70), a service server (71a), and a user terminal (71b), and a first server (72).

[0081] The beacon transmitter (70) may be a mobile advertising device, such as a display device mounted on a vehicle such as a taxi (10a) or a bus (10b), or may be a static advertising device attached to the exterior wall or rooftop of a building (10c). The beacon transmitter (70) may display advertisements according to an advertisement transmission plan provided by a service server (71a).

[0082] The user terminal (71b) can scan a broadcasting signal transmitted by a short-range wireless communication method from a beacon transmitting device (10), extract an identifier corresponding to the beacon transmitting device (10) from the scanned broadcasting signal, and transmit the extracted identifier to the service server (71a). The user terminal (71b) can detect a broadcasting signal transmitted from a beacon transmitting device (70) attached to a taxi, bus, or building, and can play a role in identifying a user who may have viewed an advertisement transmitted from the beacon transmitting device (70).

[0083] The service server (71a) can receive an identifier corresponding to the beacon transmission device (70) from the user terminal (71b) and transmit identification information of an advertisement corresponding to the received identifier to the user terminal (71b). Since the identification information of the advertisement is stored in the service server (71a), the service server (71a) can provide the user terminal (71b) with a specific type of advertisement according to the signal received by the user terminal (71b) from the beacon transmission device (70). The service server (71a) is a device that can control and manage information related to advertisement transmission of all registered beacon transmission devices (70), and is a server operated by the same operating entity as the beacon transmission device (10).

[0084] The first server (72) receives an advertisement exposure record of a beacon transmission device (70) from a computing system (71), and can display an advertisement through an application operated by an operating entity on the first server using the provided advertisement exposure record.

[0085] FIGS. 8 to 10 are flowcharts illustrating some operations of a content identification method according to one embodiment of the present disclosure.

[0086] Referring to Fig. 8, a user terminal (71b) can scan a broadcast signal transmitted via short-range wireless communication using a scanner (S801). A description of this is omitted as it is the same as described with reference to Fig. 2.

[0087] When the user terminal (71b) scans the broadcast signal, the user terminal (71b) can extract an identifier corresponding to the beacon transmitting device from the first broadcast signal (S802). The identifier corresponding to the beacon transmitting device (70) may indicate the identifier of the beacon transmitting device. Since the identifier of the beacon transmitting device has a unique value for each beacon transmitting device (70), it can serve to distinguish each beacon transmitting device (70).

[0088] When the user terminal (71b) extracts an identifier corresponding to the beacon transmission device (70) from the broadcast signal, the user terminal (71b) can transmit the extracted identifier corresponding to the beacon transmission device (70) to the service server (71a) (S803). A description of this process is omitted as it is the same as described with reference to FIG. 2.

[0089] When the service server (71a) receives an identifier corresponding to a beacon transmitting device (70) extracted from a user terminal (71b), the service server (71a) determines identification information of an advertisement exposed to the user terminal from the received identifier (S804), and by collecting records including identification information of the user terminal (71b) and identification information of the advertisement, can create an advertisement exposure record, which is a set of records (S805). The identification information of the advertisement, like content identification information, can include an identifier of the beacon transmitting device, location information of the beacon transmitting device, an advertisement identifier, and information regarding the transmission time of the advertisement. Since the description of the identification information of each advertisement is the same as the identification information of each content, it will be omitted here.

[0090] The user terminal identification information may be used to determine which user terminal scanned the broadcast signal transmitted by the beacon transmission device (70), including a unique identifier for each user terminal and age information of the user using each user terminal. However, the user terminal identification information is not limited to the information mentioned above and may include more information as needed.

[0091] According to this embodiment, when providing an advertisement using an advertisement display device, a list of user terminals can be provided by specifying user terminals of users who have moved around the advertisement display device.

[0092] Referring to FIG. 9, the method for generating an advertisement exposure record may further include a step of transmitting the generated advertisement exposure record to a first server (72) operated by an operating entity different from the service server (71a) (S806). By having the service server (71a) provide the generated advertisement exposure record to the first server (72), which is an external server, the operating entity operating the service server (71a) can obtain economic benefits through the advertisement exposure record collected and generated by the computing system (71).

[0093] In one embodiment, when transmitting an advertisement exposure record to a first server operated by an operating entity different from the service server (71a), only records satisfying preset conditions among the advertisement exposure records may be selected and transmitted. The preset conditions may be matters coordinated through prior agreement between the operating entity operating the service server (71a) and the operating entity operating the first server. For example, if the operating entity operating the first server, through agreement with the operating entity operating the service server (71a), has agreed to receive only advertisement exposure records generated by the service server (71a), in which the location information of the beacon transmission device is Gangnam-daero Sector 04, the advertisement identifier is NIKE001, which is an advertisement of NIKE, and the age group of the user included in the identification information of the user terminal is in the 20s or 30s, the service server (71a) may select and transmit only records satisfying the above restrictions to the first server (72).

[0094] According to this embodiment, there is an advantage in that the operator operating the first server can be provided with a list of user terminals for a user group that desires advertisements among users who have moved around the advertisement display device, and the operator operating the service server can provide valuable information to the operator operating the first server.

[0095] Referring to FIG. 10, a user terminal (71b) can display an advertisement transmitted via a beacon transmission device (70) on the user terminal (71b) through an application operated by a different operating entity than the service server (71a) installed on the user terminal (71b). At this time, an advertisement displayed on the beacon transmission device may be provided that has the same advertisement target as the advertisement, but has a different format.

[0096] According to this embodiment, the advertisement transmitted from the beacon transmitting device is continuously displayed on the user's terminal when the user moves near the beacon transmitting device by specifying the terminal of the user who moved around the beacon transmitting device, thereby maximizing the advertisement effect.

[0097] Hereinafter, with reference to FIGS. 11 to 13, a method by which a service server can estimate the location of a user terminal will be described.

[0098] Referring to FIG. 11, the environment in which a system for providing location information of a user terminal by a service server is implemented will be described. FIG. 11 is a diagram illustrating an environment in which a system for providing location information of a user terminal according to further embodiments of the present disclosure is implemented.

[0099] Referring to FIG. 11, a location information providing system (111) according to some embodiments of the present disclosure may be comprised of a service server (111a) and a user terminal (111b). The service server (111a) may be connected to a beacon transmitting device (110) via a network, and the user terminal (111b) may be connected to the beacon transmitting device (110) via short-range wireless communication. The service server and the service server (111a) may be connected via a network.

[0100] The beacon transmitter (110) may be a mobile device mounted on a means of transportation such as a taxi or bus, or may be a static terminal attached to the exterior wall or roof of a building. The beacon transmitter (110) may emit a broadcast signal in the form of a beacon, and a user terminal (111b) may scan the broadcast signal to identify the beacon transmitter (110). The beacon transmitter (110) may communicate with a service server (111a) via a network so that the service server (111a) may periodically transmit the location of the beacon transmitter (110).

[0101] The user terminal (111b) can perform user authentication through the service server (111a) and obtain user identification information that can identify the user of the user terminal (111b) from the service server (111a). In addition, the user terminal (111b) can scan a broadcast signal in the form of a beacon transmitted from the beacon transmission device (110) through a short-range wireless communication method to identify the beacon transmission device (110). The user terminal (111b) can transmit the user identification information and the broadcast signal to the service server (111a). Short-range wireless communication is communication that can be performed within 20 to 100 meters when using Wi-Fi, and communication that can be performed within 25 meters when using BLE (Bluetooth Low Energy).

[0102] The service server (111a) can estimate the user's location by generating user location information by matching the user identification information received from the user terminal (111b) with the current location of the beacon transmission device (110). In addition, the service server (111a) can transmit the user's location information to a service server (112) operated by a different entity than the entity operating the service server (111a), thereby providing the service server (112) with information about the user at a specific location at a specific time.

[0103] Next, with reference to FIG. 12, a method for a service server (111a) to generate location information of a user of a user terminal (111b) will be described. FIG. 12 is a flowchart of a method for providing location information according to another embodiment of the present disclosure.

[0104] Referring to FIG. 12, a user terminal (111b) performs user authentication on a service server (111a), and using the result of the user authentication, user identification information that can identify the first user of the user terminal (111b) can be obtained (S1200). When the user inputs personal information such as the user's name, gender, date of birth, residence, workplace, and the user's consent to the provision of personal information, the user terminal (111b) transmits the user's personal information to the service server (111a), and the service server (111a) performs user authentication to provide distinct user identification information to each user.

[0105] By receiving a pledge from the user agreeing to provide his / her personal information, the service server (111a) can prevent legal issues that may arise when the service server (111a) provides the user's personal information and estimated location to the service server (112).

[0106] Thereafter, the user terminal (111b) can scan the broadcast signal transmitted from the beacon transmission device (110) via a short-range wireless communication method (S1210). The broadcast signal may include beacon identification information that can specify the beacon transmission device (110). For example, the broadcast signal may include information about the unique ID of the beacon transmission device (110). The service server (111a) can inquire about the real-time location of the beacon transmission device (110) managed by the service server (111a) through the broadcast signal, and thereby estimate the real-time location of the user terminal (111b).

[0107] When the user terminal (111b) scans the broadcast signal from the beacon transmission device (110), the user terminal (111b) can transmit the user identification information of the first user obtained by performing step S1200 and the beacon identification information that can identify the beacon transmission device included in the scanned broadcast signal by performing step S1210 to the service server (111a) (S1220). The user terminal (111b) can transmit the broadcast signal including the user identification information and the beacon identification information through an API between the user terminal (111b) and the service server (111a). The service server (111a) can inquire the real-time location of the beacon transmission device (110) managed by the service server (111a) through the broadcast signal including the beacon identification information, and can identify the user of the user terminal (111b) through the user identification information.

[0108] Thereafter, the service server (111a) can determine the current location of the beacon transmitting device (110) by looking up the location of the beacon transmitting device (110) through the beacon identification information. The service server (111a) can generate location information of the first user that matches the user identification information of the first user and the current location of the beacon transmitting device (110) (S1230). The service server (111a) can estimate that the user terminal of the first user is located within a radius where short-range wireless communication is possible with the current location of the beacon transmitting device (110). That is, the service server (111a) can determine that the first user has agreed to the terms and conditions that his or her location can be provided in the user authentication step through the user identification information of the first user, and can generate location information of the first user by estimating the current location of the beacon transmitting device (110) determined from the beacon identification information as the location of the first user.

[0109] Thereafter, the service server (111a) may transmit the location information of the first user to a service server (112) operated by an operating entity different from the service server (111a) (S1240). The operator of the service server (112) may receive both the location information of the first user and the results of the user authentication step, such as the first user's age and gender.

[0110] Therefore, according to this embodiment, the service server (111a) has the effect of being able to estimate the location of a user using a user terminal (111b) capable of short-range wireless communication with the beacon transmitting device (110) by using the real-time location of the beacon transmitting device (110).

[0111] Hereinafter, with reference to FIG. 13, a method for a user terminal (111b) to scan a broadcast signal will be described. FIG. 13 is a flowchart illustrating detailed operations of the location information provision method described with reference to FIG. 12.

[0112] Referring to FIG. 13, the user terminal (111b) can register a scanner that scans a broadcast signal transmitted from a beacon transmitter (110) in a short-range wireless communication manner in the background of the user terminal (111b) in the job scheduler of the internal operating system of the user terminal (111b) (S1210). The short-range wireless communication method may adopt BLE (Bluetooth Low Energy) communication and beacon-based wireless communication, which is a mobile location-based service utilizing BLE communication, but is not necessarily limited to the above communication methods, and any form that can perform short-range wireless communication with low power may be adopted.

[0113] The job scheduler is a method for effectively allocating and ordering multiple jobs requested within the kernel. When the user terminal (111b) registers a scanner with the job scheduler of the internal operating system of the computing device, the broadcast signal transmitted from the beacon transmission device (110) can be scanned only when the job scheduler activates the scanner. The job scheduler activating the scanner means that the job scheduler treats the task of scanning the broadcast signal as a single task and assigns it to the job queue at a regular interval, thereby enabling the scanner to be executed at a regular interval by the job scheduler. The interval at which the job scheduler activates the scanner may be every minute since low-power short-range wireless communication must be implemented, but it is understood that the activation interval may vary depending on the situation.

[0114] When the scanner is activated by the job scheduler, the scanner can scan a broadcast signal transmitted from a beacon transmitter (S1212).

[0115] According to the present embodiment, the user terminal (111b) scans the broadcast signal transmitted from the beacon transmission device (110), and the user terminal (111b) can transmit the broadcast signal to the service server (111a) through an API between the user terminal (111b) and the service server (111a). Therefore, according to the present embodiment, even if the location information provision function of the user terminal (111b) is deactivated, the service server (111a) can estimate the location of the user terminal (111b) capable of short-range wireless communication with the service server (111a) by using the broadcast signal to inquire the real-time location of the beacon transmission device (110).
