Abstract
Description
[0001] A GROCERY STORE APPLICATION
[0002] Technical Field
[0003] The present invention relates to a system which enables grocery shoppers to locate and access the products they are searching for in supermarkets and hypermarkets with a plurality of aisles on an application run on an electronic device; to view product promotions on a single point / platform without wandering between aisles; and therefore, enables grocery shopping to be carried out more easily and conveniently.
[0004] Background of the Invention
[0005] Today, there are applications whereby a user can create and save a grocery shopping list, share it with another user, and authorized users can view and update the list, yet these applications are just a shared list application. There are also numerous mobile applications whereby customers can add products to their favourites, see promotions, and order online. There are applications that provide information about product prices, where to find them cheaper, where there are promotions. However, there are no applications that enable to locate and easily access the products searched for in supermarkets and hypermarkets with a plurality of aisles on an application and to display product promotions on a single point / platform without wandering between aisles.
[0006] For this reason, considering the studies and deficiencies included in the current technique, it is understood that there is a need for a system which enables grocery shoppers to locate and access the products they are searching for in supermarkets and hypermarkets with a plurality of aisles on an application run on an electronic device; to view product promotions on a single point / platform without wandering between aisles; and therefore, enables grocery shopping to be carried out more easily and conveniently.
[0007] The United States patent document no. US10885336B1, an application included in the state of the art, discloses a system which enables the use of automatic object identification and device communication technologies through image and audio signals to identify the location of products in a grocery store. The deterministic identifiers included in the system of the said invention enable reliable and efficient capture of product discovery, purchase and consumption events, thus allowing more reliable product recommendation, more accurate shopping list generation and in-store navigation. In the said invention, a mobile device equipped with image and sound detectors extracts product identifiers from objects, display screens and ambient audio. A mobile device application in combination with a cloud-based service receives product information and logs product events for extracted identifiers. The cloud service generates recommendations and mapping for in-store navigation. The detectors also provide reliable and efficient product identification for purchase events and post-shopping product use.
[0008] The United States patent document no. US20180053241A1, another application included in the state of the art, discloses a system and method for determining the location of a product within a facility. In the said invention, manufacturers and / or merchants are enabled to enter or bid for offers / promotions to be served to the consumers through the various interface mechanisms. Manufacturers / merchants use an application provided by the system to enter information such as promotions, advertisements, coupons for their products. Consumers use their mobile device to identify products close proximity to them in an indoor location. Consumers can pay through their mobile device, and it can be used instead of scanning products in the indoor location. The mobile device can be a consumer provided device (smart phone, iPad, laptop computer, tablet computer, etc.) capable of identifying a product with its camera or a built-in or external product scanner. It also allows the progress of the consumer through a store to be mapped.
[0009] Summary of the Invention
