Abstract
Description
[0001] Method for setting an artificial driving noise for an electrically driven motor vehicle, control device and motor vehicle
[0002] The invention relates to a method for adjusting an artificial driving noise for an electrically driven motor vehicle, a control device for a motor vehicle and a motor vehicle.
[0003] DE 10 2012 102 107 B4 discloses a method for controlling noise in a vehicle with a passenger compartment. In the method, a driving state of the vehicle is detected as a constant driving state or as a non-constant driving state. In the method, a first sound wave that neutralizes other sound waves is emitted into the passenger compartment of the vehicle in response to the detection of the constant driving state in order to reduce the noise level in the passenger compartment.
[0004] Alternatively, the method includes emitting a second, noise-enhancing sound wave into the passenger compartment in response to the change in the driving state of the vehicle from a constant driving state to a non-constant driving state in order to imitate operating noises.
[0005] Furthermore, DE 10 2019 111 913 A1 discloses a method for generating an artificial engine sound in a motor vehicle with an electric motor and a data transmission system connected to one or more sensors. The method provides for sensor data to be acquired by the sensors and transmitted to the data transmission system, wherein the sensor data includes a torque of the electric motor, a vehicle speed, and a position of a brake pedal and / or an accelerator pedal. The sensor data is transmitted by the data transmission system to a sound control unit, and a driving situation, such as a driving readiness with maximum acceleration capability, is identified based on the sensor data. The method further involves calculating a sound for an artificial engine noise for the driving situation using an algorithm based on the sensor data, and outputting the sound via an amplifier and loudspeaker of the motor vehicle.
[0006] The object of the present invention is to enable a particularly simple and intuitive individual adjustment of an artificial driving noise for an electrically driven motor vehicle.
[0007] This object is achieved according to the invention by the subject matter of the independent claims. Further possible embodiments of the invention are disclosed in the subclaims, the description, and the figures. Features, advantages, and possible embodiments presented in the description for one of the subject matter of the independent claims are to be regarded at least analogously as features, advantages, and possible embodiments of the respective subject matter of the other independent claims, as well as any possible combination of the subject matter of the independent claims, optionally in conjunction with one or more of the subclaims.
[0008] The invention relates to a method for adjusting an artificial driving noise for an electrically driven motor vehicle. The motor vehicle is thus configured to be driven solely by an electric traction motor. This electric traction motor is particularly quiet during operation compared to an internal combustion engine, so that it can be particularly difficult for vehicle occupants or other road users to determine the driving state of the motor vehicle based solely on the noise generated by the electric traction motor. To overcome this disadvantage, provision is made for an artificial driving noise to be generated and output via at least one loudspeaker of the motor vehicle. In particular, it is intended that this artificial driving noise characterizes a current state of the motor vehicle, whereby vehicle occupants or other road users can be informed about the current state of the motor vehicle by means of the artificial driving noise in a way that is particularly easy for the respective person to recognize, and in particular intuitively recognizable for the person. Driving noises for electrically powered motor vehicles are a polarizing topic. Analogous to music, there can also be many tastes in the automotive sector when it comes to driving noises, making it challenging to offer an ultimate artificial driving noise that suits all tastes. The method according to the invention is intended to represent a solution to this problem in that the sound characteristics of a sound source of the motor vehicle can be manipulated in real time by a vehicle occupant.
[0009] The method provides for a plurality of noise profiles to be offered to a vehicle occupant for selection by means of a display device, in particular a display device arranged in a passenger compartment of the motor vehicle, in particular a display device of the motor vehicle. Each of these noise profiles specifies respective noise compositions for a plurality of different states of the motor vehicle. This means that in each of the noise profiles, for the plurality of different states of the motor vehicle, a noise composition associated with this state of the motor vehicle is stored. The closer the offered noise profiles are arranged to one another on the display device, in particular on a display shown by means of the display device, the less the respective noise compositions of these noise profiles differ for the respective states of the motor vehicle. This means that for each of the conditions, the sound compositions of two sound profiles arranged close together on the display differ less from each other than those of two sound profiles arranged a relatively large distance apart. Vehicle occupants can thus easily identify from the display which of the different sound profiles represent similar sound compositions for the respective conditions of the vehicle and which represent more distinct sound compositions.
[0010] The method further provides for one of the noise profiles to be selected depending on a determined user input from the vehicle occupant. If the display device has a touch-sensitive surface, for example, and is thus designed as a touch display, the user input from the vehicle occupant can be characterized, for example, by the vehicle occupant tapping one of the noise profiles displayed by the display device. The greater the number of noise profiles available to select from and the smaller the difference between noise profiles displayed directly next to one another in the display, the more seamless a transition between noise profiles displayed directly next to one another in the display can appear to the driver. In other words, it determines which of the suggested noise profiles is selected by the vehicle occupant based on user input.
[0011] The method further provides for selecting the noise composition associated with the selected noise profile and a determined state of the motor vehicle, and outputting the selected noise composition as the artificial driving noise via the loudspeaker system of the motor vehicle. It is provided that the state of the motor vehicle is determined as a function of a determined value of at least one predetermined state parameter. Based on the noise composition output via the loudspeaker system, the vehicle occupant can thus in turn determine the current state of the motor vehicle.Because the noise profiles suggested by the display device are displayed relative to one another by the display device in such a way that noise profiles that differ less significantly are arranged closer to one another in the display device than noise profiles that differ more significantly, the vehicle occupant can adapt the noise profile, depending on which the artificial driving noise is to be emitted, to their individual preferences particularly easily and intuitively. If the vehicle occupant already likes the noise compositions of the current noise profile very much and therefore only wishes to make slight adjustments to the noise profile, the vehicle occupant can select a different noise profile that is arranged close to the current noise profile in the display device. This allows for gradual, individual adjustment of the noise profile. If the vehicle occupant is not yet particularly satisfied with the sound composition of the current noise profile and therefore desires a significant change to the noise profile, the vehicle occupant can select a different noise profile using user input. This profile, shown on the display, is significantly different from the currently set noise profile.
[0012] The method thus enables the driver to individually adjust the artificial driving noise particularly easily and intuitively. Due to the described arrangement of the noise profile representations in the display provided by the display device, the driver adjusting the noise profile is distracted very little from their driving task, thereby achieving particularly high levels of road safety. The driver of the motor vehicle can thus select the noise profile on the basis of which the artificial driving noise is to be adjusted particularly easily and quickly while driving the vehicle.
[0013] In a possible development of the invention, it is provided that the plurality of noise profiles is output in the form of an at least two-dimensional display by means of the display device, and that noise compositions predetermined for the respective states of the motor vehicle from noise profiles arranged directly next to one another in the display differ less from one another than noise profiles shown further apart in the display. This allows the vehicle occupant to gradually adjust the noise compositions for the respective states of the motor vehicle particularly easily using user input. Because the noise profiles are shown two-dimensionally in the display relative to one another, the vehicle occupant can particularly easily select the noise profile that best suits his or her taste from the multitude of further noise profiles, starting from a current noise profile. The two-dimensional representation can be viewed according to a coordinate system with two axes, with the different axes depicting different properties of the noise profiles. The further out the respective noise profile is arranged in relation to the respective axes, the stronger the respective property is in the noise profile. If the vehicle occupant wishes to amplify or weaken a property of this noise profile based on a current noise profile, the vehicle occupant can select a noise profile that is arranged on the side in the display that strengthens the property or on the side that weakens the property in relation to the current noise profile. The two-dimensional arrangement of the multitude of noise profiles thus enables the vehicle occupant to find the desired noise profile particularly quickly and intuitively. If the vehicle occupant is the driver, he or she will be distracted from his or her driving task to a minimum when adjusting the noise profile.
[0014] In a further possible embodiment of the invention, it is provided that the value of at least one of the state parameters described below is determined to determine the state of the motor vehicle. The state parameters that can be determined include, on the one hand, the steering angle of a steering wheel of the motor vehicle and / or the speed of the motor vehicle and / or an accelerator pedal angle of an accelerator pedal or a brake pedal of the motor vehicle and / or a torque applied to wheels of the motor vehicle and thus a load of the motor vehicle. The steering angle of the steering wheel of the motor vehicle can be determined, for example, using a steering angle sensor. The speed of the motor vehicle can be determined, for example, using a speed sensor. By means of the speed sensor, a wheel speed of at least one wheel of the motor vehicle can be determined, for example. The accelerator pedal angle can be determined using an accelerator pedal angle sensor. The torque applied to the respective wheels of the motor vehicle can be determined, for example, as a function of the torque provided on the output side by the motor vehicle's electric traction motor. Because the respective noise composition, which is output as artificial driving noise, is determined as a function of the values of at least one of these aforementioned state parameters, the artificial driving noise can be used to inform the vehicle occupant particularly easily and intuitively about the determined value of the respective state parameter. For example, the vehicle occupant, in particular the driver, can use the artificial driving noise to estimate the speed of the motor vehicle and / or the torque applied to the wheels of the motor vehicle and thus the load of the motor vehicle and / or the accelerator pedal angle of the motor vehicle and / or the steering angle of the steering wheel of the motor vehicle.
[0015] In a further possible embodiment of the invention, the selected sound composition is output in the passenger compartment of the motor vehicle via the loudspeaker system of the motor vehicle. This means that the vehicle occupant can individually adjust the virtual driving noise audible in the passenger compartment using their user input. This virtual driving noise audible in the passenger compartment can thus be adapted to their individual preferences particularly easily and intuitively by the vehicle occupant within the framework of the method. It can be provided that legal requirements exist for artificial driving noises of electrically powered motor vehicles that are output outside the motor vehicle, whereas artificial driving noises output in the passenger compartment may be less regulated or not regulated at all.As part of the process, the driver can therefore vary the artificial driving noise emitted in the passenger compartment particularly extensively by selecting one of the noise profiles from the large number of available noise profiles and thus adapt it particularly easily to individual needs.
[0016] In a further possible embodiment of the invention, it is provided that when a change in the state of the motor vehicle is detected, a further noise composition is selected which is assigned to the changed state of the motor vehicle in the selected noise profile. By means of the at least one loudspeaker device of the motor vehicle, the further noise composition is output as the artificial driving noise. In other words, it is thus provided that as soon as the state of the motor vehicle changes, for example because the steering angle of the steering wheel of the motor vehicle changes and / or because the speed of the motor vehicle changes and / or because the accelerator pedal angle of the at least one accelerator pedal of the motor vehicle changes and / or because the torque applied to the wheels of the motor vehicle changes, the artificial driving noise is adapted according to the change in the state of the motor vehicle. This ensures that the vehicle occupants, in particular the driver, are informed at any time by means of the artificial driving noise about the current state of the motor vehicle, in particular about the current value of the respective state parameters characterized by the noise composition.
[0017] In this context, it can be provided, in particular, that the transition from the noise composition to the further noise composition, and thus from the first, original noise composition to the second, further noise composition, takes place continuously. This makes it possible to achieve a smooth and, in particular, seamless transition, for example by cross-fading between the different noise compositions output as artificial driving noise by means of the at least one loudspeaker device. This makes it possible to achieve a particularly smooth transition between the noise compositions when the state of the motor vehicle changes. This makes the artificial driving noise particularly pleasant for vehicle occupants, as there are no abrupt breaks in the transition between the noise compositions.
[0018] The invention further relates to a control device for an electrically driven motor vehicle, which is configured to trigger a display device, in particular a display device of the motor vehicle, to offer a vehicle occupant a plurality of predefined noise profiles for selection. Furthermore, the control device is configured to select one of the noise profiles depending on a determined user input from a vehicle occupant. Furthermore, the control device is configured to determine a state of the motor vehicle depending on a determined value of at least one predefined state parameter.Furthermore, the control device is configured to select the noise composition associated with the selected noise profile and the determined state of the motor vehicle and to trigger the output of the selected noise composition as an artificial driving noise via at least one loudspeaker device of the motor vehicle. In particular, the control device is configured to be used within the framework of a method as already described in connection with the method according to the invention for setting an artificial driving noise for an electrically driven motor vehicle. The control device can, in particular, be part of the electrically driven motor vehicle.
[0019] The invention further relates to a motor vehicle with a control device as already described in connection with the control device according to the invention. The motor vehicle is, in particular, an electrically driven motor vehicle. The motor vehicle can thus have an electric drive train, which in particular comprises at least one electric traction machine. The motor vehicle can further comprise a display device configured to offer the plurality of noise profiles to a vehicle occupant for selection. Furthermore, the motor vehicle can comprise at least one loudspeaker device configured to output the selected noise composition as the artificial driving noise, in particular in the passenger compartment.
[0020] Further features of the invention may emerge from the claims, the figures, and the description of the figures. The features and combinations of features mentioned above in the description, as well as the features and combinations of features shown below in the description of the figures and / or in the figures alone, can be used not only in the respective combinations specified, but also in other combinations or on their own, without departing from the scope of the invention.
[0021] The drawing shows:
[0022] Fig. 1 shows a process diagram for a method for setting an artificial driving noise for an electrically driven motor vehicle; and
[0023] Fig. 2 is a schematic plan view of a display output by means of a display device.
[0024] Fig. 1 shows a method for setting an artificial driving noise for an electrically powered motor vehicle. In a first method step V1 of the method, a plurality of noise profiles 12 are offered to a vehicle occupant 14 for selection by means of a display device 10.
[0025] Fig. 2 shows a display 16 output by the display device 10. On this display 16, a two-dimensional surface 18 in the shape of a circle, which can also be referred to as a HypersonX Wheel, is shown. Each point of this surface 18 is assigned to a predetermined noise profile 12. For the sake of clarity, only individual noise profiles 12 are shown with respective circles within the surface 18 and are thus highlighted separately. In the present case, each point of the surface 18 is assigned a separate, individual noise profile 12. In Fig. 2, a noise profile 12 currently set in the motor vehicle is shown with a continuous border. A selection of potential noise profiles 12 that can be selected by the vehicle occupant 14 and set as alternative noise profiles 12 are bordered by a dashed line in Fig. 2.However, it is possible for the vehicle occupant 14 to select a noise profile 12 assigned to any point on the surface 18. Each of the noise profiles 12 specifies respective noise compositions for a multitude of different states of the motor vehicle. By means of a user input, the vehicle occupant 14 can select one of the multitude of noise profiles 12 suggested by the display device 10. In the present case, it is provided that the vehicle occupant 14 selects one of the suggested noise profiles 12 to be set in the motor vehicle by tapping the display device 10 with one of their fingers 20. Depending on where the vehicle occupant 14 taps with their finger 20 in the area of the surface 18, the noise profile 12 assigned to the corresponding point tapped by the vehicle occupant 14 is marked as selected by the vehicle occupant 14 and set in the motor vehicle. The surface 18 represents a two-dimensional form for offering the plurality of noise profiles 12. The closer the respective points within the surface 18 are arranged to one another, the less the respective noise profiles 12 assigned to these points differ with regard to the stored noise compositions in the respective noise profiles 12 for the respective states of the motor vehicle or for each of the states of the motor vehicle. The closer the offered noise profiles 12 are arranged to one another on the display device 10, the less the respective noise compositions of these noise profiles 12 differ for the respective states of the motor vehicle. In particular, it is provided that predetermined noise compositions of noise profiles 12 arranged directly next to one another in the display 16 for the respective states of the motor vehicle differ less from one another than noise profiles 12 shown further apart in the display 16, whereby the vehicle occupant 14 can gradually adjust the noise compositions for the respective states of the motor vehicle by means of the user input.
[0026] For example, if, as shown in Fig. 2, the noise profile 12 assigned to a central point of the surface 18 is selected as the initial noise profile 12, then the vehicle occupant 14 can, depending on whether he selects a point on the surface 18 that is further away from the central point or closer to the central point as the alternative noise profile 12 to be set, select a noise profile 12 that specifies similar or less similar noise compositions for the respective conditions of the motor vehicle. Depending on the direction in which respective noise profiles 12 are arranged starting from the central point of the surface 18, the noise profiles 12 differ in different
[0027] Aspects or properties of the initially set noise profile 12.
[0028] Furthermore, Fig. 2 shows, by way of example, respective arrows which indicate the direction along which the noise profiles 12 assigned to the respective adjacent points are amplified with regard to respective properties A to D. If, for example, the vehicle occupant 14 desires a noise profile 12 which is more pronounced with regard to property B than the initially selected noise profile 12 assigned to the central point on the surface 18, then the vehicle occupant 14 should select a point on the surface 18 which, with regard to the direction assigned to property B, is arranged further out on the surface 18 compared to the central point and thus closer to the edge of the surface 18. The respective properties A to D mentioned as examples, as well as their respective directions of progression with regard to the noise profiles 12, can be explicitly marked in the display 16, wherein in Fig.2 the marking is merely indicated by way of example.
[0029] In the third method step V3 of the method, it is provided that a current state of the motor vehicle is determined. To determine the state of the motor vehicle, the value of at least one predetermined state parameter of the motor vehicle can be determined. As state parameters, in particular a steering angle of a steering wheel of the motor vehicle and / or a speed of the motor vehicle and / or an accelerator pedal angle of at least one accelerator pedal of the motor vehicle and / or a torque applied to wheels of the motor vehicle can be determined. In a fourth method step V4 of the method, it is provided that the noise composition assigned to the noise profile 12 selected as a function of the determined user input and the determined state of the motor vehicle is selected.Subsequently, in the fifth method step V5, the selected noise composition can be output as the artificial driving noise by means of at least one loudspeaker device of the motor vehicle, in particular in the passenger compartment of the motor vehicle.
[0030] The method steps describe instructions that, while relating to the (visual) reproduction of information, do not focus on conveying specific content or conveying it in a particular format. Rather, they focus on presenting image content in a manner that takes into account the physical conditions of human perception and information reception, and is aimed at enabling, improving, or expediently shaping the perception of the displayed information by humans in a specific way. The method thus enables the vehicle occupant 14 to easily and intuitively recognize which of the multitude of noise profiles 12 differ more and which less, as well as in which properties the noise profiles 12 differ, or in which of the noise profiles 12 which of the respective properties are pronounced to what degree or to what degree.
[0031] If it is determined that the state of the motor vehicle has changed after or during the output of the selected sound composition, then, depending on the changed state, the additional sound composition associated with this changed state in the selected sound profile 12 can be selected and output as the artificial driving noise by means of the at least one loudspeaker device. In this case, a transition from the initially output sound composition to the additional sound composition associated with the changed state can occur continuously.
[0032] The described two-dimensional display 16, by means of which the vehicle occupant 14 is offered a selection of the multitude of noise profiles 12, enables real-time modulation of the artificial driving noise both when the motor vehicle is stationary and when the motor vehicle is moving. The vehicle occupant 14 can vary the artificial driving noise via a touch-sensitive surface of the display device 10, which can be based on an x / y coordinate system. This allows the vehicle occupant 14 to help shape the driving noise and adapt it to their taste. The respective noise compositions can be adjusted depending on various condition parameters, whereby typical vehicle variables – such as speed, accelerator pedal angle, or torque – or alternatively or additionally the steering angle of the steering wheel can be used. The point on the surface 18 selected by tapping the touch-sensitive surface of the display device 10, in particular its coordinates, can be transmitted to the control device via Ethernet. The control device, which can also be referred to as an audio control unit, can read the coordinates and translate them, allowing the control device to determine the noise profile 12 associated with the user input based on the coordinates. The control device can, in turn, translate the selected noise profile 12 into suitable sound parameters for the artificial driving noise, also with reference to the driver's driving behavior. In other words, the control device can determine the associated noise composition depending on the selected noise profile 12 and the determined state of the motor vehicle and trigger this selected noise composition to be output by means of the at least one loudspeaker device of the motor vehicle, in particular in the passenger compartment.
