Abstract
Description
communication equipment
[0001] The present invention relates to a communication device.
[0002] Communication devices that are attached to motorcycle or bicycle helmets and enable hands-free calling and listening to voice guidance from navigation systems while driving are well known. These communication devices are generally called "intercoms" or "headsets."
[0003] As an example of the above-mentioned helmet communication device, Patent Document 1 discloses a headset including a main body, a left speaker, a right speaker, and a microphone. The main body has a built-in external input / output unit that can wirelessly connect to a wireless terminal such as a smartphone, and a battery. When attaching this headset to a helmet, it is necessary to fix the main body to the exterior of the helmet, position the microphone near the helmet wearer's mouth, install the left speaker and the right speaker inside the helmet, and connect each speaker to the main body with a cable.
[0004] Japanese Patent Application Laid-Open No. 2020-120313
[0005] In conventional helmet communication devices such as the headset disclosed in Patent Document 1, the main body, speaker, and microphone are provided independently (separately). As a result, as mentioned above, each component must be attached to the helmet and the components must be connected by cables, which creates the problem of making installation and replacement extremely time-consuming.
[0006] Therefore, one example of a problem to be solved by the present invention is to provide a communication device that can be easily attached to a helmet or easily replaced.
[0007] The communication device of the present invention is a communication device that is attached to a motorcycle helmet, and is characterized by comprising a first part that has a built-in microphone, and a second part that has a built-in speaker and is connected to the first part so that the angle can be adjusted.
[0008] Fig. 6 is a diagram showing an example of an example of attaching a communication device to a helmet according to an embodiment of the present invention. Fig. 7 is a diagram showing another example of attaching the communication device of Fig. 1 to a helmet. Fig. 8 is a perspective view of only the communication device of Fig. 1. Fig. 9 is a front view of the communication device of Fig. 3. Fig. 10 is a plan view of the communication device of Fig. 3. Fig. 11 is a diagram showing the device main body and fixed parts of the communication device of Fig. 3 separated, showing the rear side of the device main body. Fig. 12 is a diagram showing the device main body and fixed parts of Fig. 6 viewed from below.
[0009] An embodiment of the present invention will now be described. The communication device according to the embodiment of the present invention is a communication device that is attached to a motorcycle helmet, and includes a first part with a built-in microphone and a second part with a built-in speaker that is connected to the first part so that the angle can be adjusted. This makes it easy to attach the device to the helmet and to replace it.
[0010] The communication device may include a device main body having the first part and the second part, and a fixing part to which the device main body is detachable and fixed to the helmet, whereby the device main body can be removed from the helmet while the fixing part remains fixed to the helmet.
[0011] The communication device may further include a third part having a built-in speaker and connected to the first part on the opposite side to the side to which the second part is connected so that the angle of the third part can be adjusted, thereby enabling stereo reproduction.
[0012] The communication device may be configured such that the device main body has a magnet attached to an outer surface of at least one of the first part and the second part, the fixed part is made of a magnetic material, the fixed part has a first plate part that contacts the magnet, and a second plate part that is connected to the first plate part and bent from the first plate part, and the second plate part is inserted into a gap between the outer surface part of the helmet and a cushioning material. This makes it easy to attach and detach the device main body.
[0013] The communication device may be configured such that the fixing part has a plate portion disposed on the bottom or top surface of the helmet opening, and a rail portion and a lock portion provided on the surface of the plate portion, and the device main body has a slide portion that engages with the rail portion and slides, and a lock receiving portion that engages with the lock portion, thereby making it easy to attach and detach the device main body.
[0014] The communication device may include a device main body having the first part and the second part, and a plurality of fixing parts to which the device main body is detachable and fixed to the helmet, the plurality of fixing parts including a first fixing part and a second fixing part, the device main body having a magnet attached to an outer surface of at least one of the first part and the second part, the first fixing part being made of a magnetic material, the first fixing part having a first plate part that contacts the magnet and a second plate part that is connected to the first plate part and bent from the first plate part, the second plate part being inserted into a gap between an outer surface of the helmet and a cushioning material, the second fixing part having a plate part that is disposed on a bottom or top surface of an opening in the helmet, and a rail part and a lock part that are provided on a surface of the plate part, the device main body having a sliding part that engages with the rail part and slides, and a lock receiving part that engages with the lock part. This allows the device main body to be easily attached and detached.
[0015] The communication device may be configured such that the first part or the second part has an operation button, thereby improving operability.
[0016] The communication device may be configured such that the first part or the second part has a built-in secondary battery, whereby the secondary battery can be charged and used repeatedly.
[0017] In the communication device, the first part may have a first surface in which an opening leading to the microphone is formed, and a second surface opposite to the first surface, and the second surface may be a convex curved surface. In this way, when the communication device is attached so that the second surface faces the front of the helmet, the airflow from the front is directed rearward, thereby suppressing an increase in air resistance while riding and preventing the communication device from detaching from the helmet.
[0018] Fig. 1 is a diagram showing an example of an attachment example of a communication device 10 according to an embodiment of the present invention to a helmet 100. Fig. 2 is a diagram showing another example of an attachment example of the communication device 10 of Fig. 1 to a helmet 100. The communication device 10 is intended to be attached to a helmet for a motorcycle or bicycle (i.e., a two-wheeled vehicle) for use. The following describes a case where the communication device 10 is attached to a helmet 100 worn by a motorcycle rider.
[0019] The helmet 100 shown in Figures 1 and 2 is a full-face helmet. The helmet 100 includes a shell 101 (corresponding to an "outer surface"), a liner 102 (corresponding to a "buffer material") attached to the inside of the shell 101, and a shield 103 rotatably attached to the shell 101. An opening 104 is formed in the front of the shell 101 and the liner 102. The shield 103 is attached to the shell 101 so as to be rotatable between a position that covers the opening 104 and a position that opens the opening 104.
[0020] In the example shown in Fig. 1, the communication device 10 is attached to a bottom surface 104a of the opening 104. When the helmet 100 shown in Fig. 1 is worn, the communication device 10 is located in front of the wearer's nose. In the example shown in Fig. 2, the communication device 10 is attached to a top surface 104b of the opening 104. When the helmet 100 shown in Fig. 2 is worn, the communication device 10 is located in front of the wearer's forehead. In addition, in the example shown in Fig. 2, the communication device 10 is attached to the top surface 104b of the opening 104 in a state upside down compared to Fig. 1.
[0021] As shown in Figures 3 to 7, the communication device 10 comprises a first part 1, a second part 2, a third part 3, and a plurality of fixed parts 4, 5, and 6. The second part 2 is connected to the first part 1 so that the angle can be adjusted. The third part 3 is connected to the first part 1 on the side opposite to the side to which the second part 2 is connected so that the angle can be adjusted. The assembly of the first part 1, second part 2, and third part 3 that are connected to each other is referred to as the "device main body 7." The fixed parts 4, 5, and 6 are components that allow the device main body 7 to be detachable and are fixed to the helmet 100.
[0022] The first part 1 includes a block-shaped case 11 made of synthetic resin and is equipped with a microphone 12, a secondary battery 13, a communication unit 14, etc. The case 11 has a front surface (corresponding to the "second surface") 11F, a back surface (corresponding to the "first surface") 11R opposite the front surface 11F, a top surface 11T, a bottom surface 11B opposite the top surface 11T, a left side surface 11LS, and a right side surface 11RS opposite the left side surface 11LS.
[0023] As shown in Figure 5, the front surface 11F of the case 11 has a convex curved surface in a plan view. That is, the center of the front surface 11F of the case 11 protrudes further than the ends on the left side surface 11LS and the right side surface 11RS. As a result, when the communication device 10 is attached so that the front surface 11F faces the front of the helmet 100, the airflow from the front is directed rearward, thereby suppressing an increase in air resistance during riding and preventing the device main body 7 from separating from the fixing parts 4, 5, and 6. Furthermore, by making the front surface 11F a convex curved surface, the first part 1 can be fitted to the curved shape of the helmet 100.
[0024] Furthermore, if a manufacturer or brand logo is to be provided on the front face 11F of the case 11, the logo member may be manufactured separately from the case 11, and a logo member attachment portion may be formed on the front face 11F of the case 11. In this case, it is preferable to form the logo member attachment portion so that the logo member can be detachably attached in a first orientation and a second orientation that is upside down. The logo member attachment portion may be formed, for example, as a groove or hole. In this way, the logo member can be attached to the front face 11F of the case 11 in the first orientation in the attachment example shown in FIG. 1, and the logo member can be attached to the front face 11F of the case 11 in the second orientation in the attachment example shown in FIG. 2. Note that in this example, the logo member attachment portion is not formed on the case 11.
[0025] The microphone 12 is mainly for collecting the voice of the wearer of the helmet 100. As shown in Fig. 6, an opening 11a that leads to the microphone 12 for capturing sound is formed in the rear surface 11R of the case 11. A waterproof and breathable film may be provided in the opening 11a for waterproofing.
[0026] The secondary battery 13 supplies power to each electronic component of the communication device 10. As shown in Figure 6, a USB port 16 for charging the secondary battery 13 is provided on the rear surface 11R of the case 11.
[0027] The communication unit 14 performs wireless communication with devices such as smartphones via Bluetooth (registered trademark) etc. The communication unit 14 sends audio signals collected by the microphone 12 to the device and receives audio signals (signals for call voice, navigation voice guidance, music, etc.) from the device.
[0028] Additionally, as shown in FIG. 6 , the rear surface 11R of the case 11 is provided with stereo channel selector switches 17 and 18 and a speaker extension terminal 19. The top surface 11T of the case 11 is provided with a multi-function button (equivalent to an "operation button") 15. The multi-function button 15 can function, for example, as a button to activate the smartphone's voice operation function (voice recognition function). By activating the voice operation function upon operation of the multi-function button 15, the smartphone's application software can determine the timing for voice recognition, thereby reducing the occurrence of malfunctions due to wind noise, engine noise, or ambient noise. The bottom surface 11B of the case 11 is provided with slide portions 71 and 72, which are locking structures for engaging with the fixed part 4, and are integrally formed with the case 11.
[0029] The USB port 16 and the speaker extension terminal 19 may be configured to be covered with an elastic cover when not in use, thereby improving waterproofing.
[0030] In this way, the first part 1 has the channel selector switches 17 and 18, the speaker extension terminal 19, and the opening 11a on the rear surface 11R of the case 11, but not on the front surface 11F. This configuration also helps to suppress an increase in air resistance during driving, just as it does when the front surface 11F is a convex curved surface.
[0031] In this specification, terms such as "up," "down," "top," "bottom," "front," "back," "left," and "right" are used to refer to the communication device 10 when it is attached to the helmet 100 as shown in Fig. 1. These terms are used for the convenience of explaining the structure of the communication device 10 and do not necessarily correspond to the directions in the actual location where it is used. For example, in the attachment example shown in Fig. 2, the top surface 11T of the case 11 is located at the bottom, and the bottom surface 11B of the case 11 is located at the top. Furthermore, the left side surface 11LS and right side surface 11RS of the case 11 are located in the opposite positions to those in Fig. 1.
[0032] The second part 2 includes a block-shaped case 21 made of synthetic resin and a speaker 22 housed within it. The case 21 is rotatably connected to the left side surface 11LS of the case 11 by a pin 20 shown by dashed lines in Figures 3, 5, and 6. More specifically, the case 21 and the case 11 are provided with pin insertion holes, and the pins 20 are inserted into these pin insertion holes to rotatably connect the case 21 to the case 11. A plurality of holes 21a are formed on the back surface of the case 21 for emitting sound from the speaker 22. A magnet 23 is attached to the underside of the case 21 for attracting the fixed part 5.
[0033] The third part 3 includes a block-shaped case 31 made of synthetic resin and a speaker 32 housed within it. The case 31 is rotatably connected to the right side surface 11RS of the case 11 by a pin 30 shown by dashed lines in Figures 3, 5, and 6. More specifically, the case 31 and the case 11 are provided with pin insertion holes, and the pins 30 are inserted into these pin insertion holes to rotatably connect the case 31 to the case 11. A plurality of holes 31a are formed on the back surface of the case 31 for emitting sound from the speaker 32. A magnet 33 is attached to the underside of the case 31 for attracting the fixed part 6.
[0034] As described above, the communication device 10 of this example is provided with two speakers 22, 32 on both the left and right sides of the first part 1, enabling stereo reproduction. When the communication device 10 is attached to the bottom surface 104a of the opening 104 as shown in Fig. 1, pressing the channel selector switch 17 sets the setting so that the left channel signal of the stereo signal is output from the speaker 22 and the right channel signal is output from the speaker 32. When the communication device 10 is attached to the top surface 104b of the opening 104 as shown in Fig. 2, pressing the channel selector switch 18 sets the setting so that the left channel signal of the stereo signal is output from the speaker 32 and the right channel signal is output from the speaker 22.
[0035] The fixed part 4 (corresponding to the "second fixed part") is made of synthetic resin. As shown in Figures 3, 6 and 7, the fixed part 4 has a plate part 40 that is placed on the bottom surface 104a or the top surface 104b of the opening 104 of the helmet 100, and a rail part 41 and a lock part 42 that are provided on the top surface 40a of the plate part 40. Double-sided tape is affixed to the bottom surface 104a or the top surface 104b of the plate part 40, and the plate part 40 is fixed to the bottom surface 104a or the top surface 104b via the double-sided tape.
[0036] The rail portion 41 has parallel portions 41a and 41b extending parallel to each other in the left-right direction, parallel portions 41c and 41d extending parallel to each other in the left-right direction, and a connecting portion 41e connecting the ends of the parallel portions 41c and 41d. The parallel portion 41c is located on an extension line of the parallel portion 41a, and the parallel portions 41a and 41c are provided with a gap between them. Similarly, the parallel portion 41d is located on an extension line of the parallel portion 41b, and the parallel portions 41b and 41d are provided with a gap between them.
[0037] The locking portion 42 is a protrusion that protrudes from the upper surface 40a of the plate portion 40 and is provided between the parallel portions 41a and 41b. A notch 43 is formed by cutting out the plate portion 40 around the periphery of the locking portion 42. This allows the locking portion 42 to be displaced in the thickness direction of the plate portion 40.
[0038] The slide portion 72 provided on the underside 11B of the case 11 engages with the parallel portions 41a, 41b and slides left and right between the parallel portions 41a, 41b. The slide portion 72 also slides from the right side to the left side of the lock portion 42, climbing over the lock portion 42 and engaging with the lock portion 42. In other words, the lock portion 42 is positioned on the left side of the slide portion 72, thereby restricting movement of the first part 1 to the left. In this way, the slide portion 72 also functions as a "lock receiving portion."
[0039] A slide portion 71 provided on the underside 11B of the case 11 engages with the parallel portions 41c, 41d and slides left and right between the parallel portions 41c, 41d. When the slide portion 72 is locked by the lock portion 42, the connecting portion 41e is located on the right side of the slide portion 71. This restricts the movement of the first part 1 to the right.
[0040] The fixed part 5 (corresponding to the "first fixed part") is made of a magnetic material that is attracted to the magnet 23 attached to the underside of the case 21. The fixed part 5 has a first plate portion 51 that comes into contact with and is attracted to the magnet 23, and a second plate portion 52 that is connected to the first plate portion 51 and bent from the first plate portion 51. In this example, the second plate portion 52 is bent perpendicular to the first plate portion 51. An upper surface 51a of the first plate portion 51 contacts the magnet 23. Double-sided tape is attached to the lower surface 51b of the first plate portion 51, and the first plate portion 51 is fixed to the bottom surface 104a or the top surface 104b via the double-sided tape. The second plate portion 52 is inserted from the bottom surface 104a or the top surface 104b of the opening 104 into the gap between the shell 101 and the liner 102 (i.e., the gap between the outer surface and the cushioning material). In this way, the fixing part 5 is fixed to the helmet 100 by fixing the first plate portion 51 to the bottom surface 104a or the top surface 104b via double-sided tape and by inserting the second plate portion 52 between the shell 101 and the liner 102.
[0041] The fixed part 6 is made of the same material as the fixed part 5 and has the same shape and size as the fixed part 5. For ease of explanation, the fixed part 5 and the fixed part 6 are denoted by different reference numerals. The fixed part 6 is made of a magnetic material that is attracted to the magnet 33 attached to the underside of the case 31. The fixed part 6 has a first plate portion 61 that comes into contact with and is attracted to the magnet 33, and a second plate portion 62 that is connected to the first plate portion 61 and bent perpendicularly to the first plate portion 61. An upper surface 61a of the first plate portion 61 contacts the magnet 33. Double-sided tape is attached to the lower surface 61b of the first plate portion 61, and the first plate portion 61 is fixed to the bottom surface 104a or the top surface 104b via the double-sided tape. The second plate portion 62 is inserted into the gap between the shell 101 and the liner 102 from the bottom surface 104a or the top surface 104b of the opening 104. In this way, the fixing part 6 is fixed to the helmet 100 by fixing the first plate portion 61 to the bottom surface 104a or the top surface 104b via double-sided tape and by inserting the second plate portion 62 between the shell 101 and the liner 102.
[0042] When initially attaching the communication device 10 configured as described above to the helmet 100, the fixing part 4 is engaged with the first part 1, the fixing part 5 is attached to the second part 2 by suction, and the fixing part 6 is attached to the third part by suction. Then, the fixing parts 4, 5, and 6 are fixed to the bottom surface 104a or the top surface 104b of the opening 104 using double-sided tape. This initial attachment process can be performed very easily without the need for tools. After that, the device main body 7 (the assembly of the first part 1, the second part 2, and the third part 3) can be detached from the fixing parts 4, 5, and 6 while the fixing parts 4, 5, and 6 remain fixed to the helmet 100, and only the device main body 7 can be removed from the helmet 100. The device main body 7 can also be detached and reattached very easily from the fixing parts 4, 5, and 6 by simply sliding, without the need for tools. Furthermore, the communication device 10 is highly convenient when charging the secondary battery 13 because the device main body 7 can be easily detached from the helmet 100 as described above. Furthermore, by preparing a plurality of helmets to which the fixing parts 4, 5, and 6 are attached in advance, the device main body 7 can be easily transferred from one helmet to another.
[0043] Furthermore, the bottom surface 104a and top surface 104b of the opening 104 of the helmet 100 are curved. In contrast, the communication device 10 can be attached by adjusting the angles of the second part 2 and the third part 3 to follow this curve, because the second part 2 and the third part 3 are connected to the first part 1 in an angle-adjustable manner. Therefore, the communication device 10 can be stored inside the shield 103 without interfering with the opening and closing of the shield 103. Furthermore, because the angles of the second part 2 and the third part 3 can be adjusted relative to the first part 1, the device main body 7 can be attached to a wide variety of helmets with different shapes, thereby improving versatility.
[0044] Furthermore, in the communication device 10, the first part 1 and the fixed part 4 are locked to each other by an interlocking locking structure between the rail portion 41 and the sliding portions 71, 72, and an locking structure between the sliding portion 72 and the locking portion 42. This locking structure is particularly suitable for attaching the communication device 10 to the helmet 100. That is, because the rail portion 41 extends in the left-right direction of the helmet 100, the sliding portions 71, 72 do not come off the rail portion 41 even if a large wind pressure is applied from the front while the motorcycle is traveling, and the device main body 7 is held stably.
[0045] In this way, the communication device 10 applies the above-described interlocking locking structure between the rail portion 41 and the sliding portions 71, 72 and the locking structure between the sliding portion 72 and the locking portion 42 to lock the first central part 1 to the fixed part 4, applies the magnet 23 to attach the second part 2 to the fixed part 5, and applies the magnet 33 to attach the third part to the fixed part 6, thereby achieving both strong attachment to the helmet 100 and ease of attachment to the helmet 100. Note that if ease of attachment to the helmet 100 is given priority, the locking structure between the first part 1 and the fixed part 4 may be changed to one that uses a magnet.
[0046] In the above embodiment, the communication device 10 is attached to a full-face helmet 100, but the communication device 10 can also be attached to a jet helmet or a half helmet. In this case, the communication device 10 is attached to the front edge of the helmet (the part corresponding to the top surface 104b of the opening 104 of the helmet 100 in FIG. 2, and in front of the wearer's forehead) as in the attachment example shown in FIG.
[0047] In the above-described embodiment, the pin 20 is inserted into the pin insertion holes provided in the case 21 and the case 11, and the case 21 is rotatably connected to the case 11. However, instead of this, the case 21 may be rotatably connected to the case 11 using a hinge. The same applies to the connection between the case 31 and the case 11, and the case 31 may be rotatably connected to the case 11 using a hinge.
[0048] In the above-described embodiment, the communication device 10 is provided with a plurality of fixing parts 4, 5, and 6. However, the fixing parts are not essential components of the communication device of the present invention, and at least one or all of the fixing parts 4, 5, and 6 may be omitted, and the device main body 7 may be attached to the helmet with adhesive, double-sided tape, or the like.
[0049] In the above-described embodiment, the communication device 10 includes the second part 2 and the third part 3 on both the left and right sides of the first part 1. That is, two speakers 22, 32 are provided on both the left and right sides of the first part 1. However, in the communication device of the present invention, two speakers are not required; it is sufficient if at least one speaker is provided. For example, the communication device may include the first part 1 and the second part 2 described above but not the third part 3, or may include the first part 1 and the third part 3 described above but not the second part 2. Furthermore, the communication device may have an integrated box-like structure instead of a structure in which the first part, the second part, and the third part are connected.
[0050] In the above-described embodiment, the multifunction button 15 is provided on the first part 1, but the multifunction button 15 may alternatively be provided on the second part 2 or the third part 3.
[0051] In the above-described embodiment, the first part 1 is provided with the secondary battery 13, but the second part 2 or the third part 3 may alternatively be provided with the secondary battery 13.
[0052] Although the embodiments of the present invention have been described in detail above with reference to the drawings, the specific configurations are not limited to these embodiments, and the present invention also includes design changes within the scope of the present invention. The examples shown in the above figures can be combined with each other as long as there are no particular contradictions or problems in their purpose, configuration, etc. Furthermore, the contents of each figure can each be an independent embodiment, and the embodiment of the present invention is not limited to a single embodiment obtained by combining the figures.
