Description

HEADPHONE DEVICETECHNICAL FIELD

[0001] The present disclosure relates to a headphone device.BACKGROUND

[0002] The prior-designed headphone devices, in particular ear-hanging headphones, comprise a hook and a host part. When the headphone device is worn, the hook is hooked to the wearer's ear and such that the host part faces the ear canal, wherein the host part comprises a housing and a speaker assembly, a driver, a PCBA and a battery arranged in the housing.

[0003] However, in the prior-designed headphone device, due to a significant number of components, the host part typically has a large weight and volume. This often creates problems for the designer, e.g. how to arrange these components as rationally as possible in a limited space, so as to ensure on the one hand a compact structure and on the other hand a good acoustic effect.

[0004] In addition, in this prior-designed headphone device, the battery together with other components arranged in the small inner space defined by the host housing. It is not easy for the end consumers to remove or replace the battery, as it requires the consumers to open the host housing, remove and replace the battery, and then re-install it, wherein it is important to pay attention to the connection relationship between the battery and other components to avoid installation errors.

[0005] Besides, with the introduction of EU regulations on the design related to headphone devices, there is a need for the batteries of the headphones to be able to be mounted in a removable manner.

[0006] Therefore, the technical problem to be solved by the present invention is to provide a headphone device which improves wearer comfort while allowing for easy battery removal.SUMMARY

[0038] The present disclosure relates to a headphone device, which comprises: a hook section having a first end, a second end and an electrical conductor extending between the first end and the second; a main body module which connected with the first end; and a battery module which connected with the second end.

[0039] According to the present disclosure, an electrical connection between the battery module and the main body module is achieved via the electrical conductor, and wherein the hook section hangs from the auricle of the wearer's ear when the headphone device is worn in the wearer's ear, such that the main body module connected to the first end faces the wearer's ear canal and the battery module connected to the second end located behind the wearer's ear.

[0040] According to one or more embodiments of the present disclosure, the main body module comprises a main body housing, a printed circuit board assembly and driver arranged in the main body housing. According to one or more embodiments of the present disclosure, the battery module comprises a battery housing and a battery arranged in the battery housing, wherein the battery is used to provide electrical energy to the headphone device.

[0041] As compare to the prior art, the battery to provide the headphone device with electrical energy according to the present disclosure is not arranged in the main body, but is removed from the main body, thereby constituting a separate battery module with respect to  the main body module. The battery module and the main body module are provided at each of the two free ends of the hook section. By means of present disclosure, on the one hand, the space in the main body module is saved, a more compact structure of the main body module is realized, and more space is left to optimize the acoustic characteristics; on the other hand, the weight of the main body module is reduced by moving the battery behind the ear, which is conducive to the balance of the two ends of the hook section, and a better weight distribution of the headphone device as a whole is realized. It brings a better using experience to the wearer. The headphone device will not fall off easily when the wearer is exercising.

[0042] In some embodiments of the present disclosure, the battery housing comprises a top cover of battery housing and a bottom cover of battery housing, wherein the top cover of battery housing and the bottom cover of battery housing are detachably connected to each other. As a result, the battery housing can be opened when needed, wherein the battery itself can be removed from the battery housing as a replaceable component. The battery module of the headphone device comprises only a relatively small number of components, such as the battery housing and the battery arranged in it. This relatively simple structure of the battery module makes it easy for the end consumer to replace the battery as well, i.e. to remove the battery and re-install the battery without having to consider about the complex connection relations between the battery and other components, and to realize a correct assembly of the battery.

[0043] In some embodiments of the present disclosure, the battery housing is constructed in one piece. When the battery module and the hook section are configured to be detachable connected to each other, the battery module, namely the battery housing together with the battery arranged in it could be displaced as a single unit.

[0044] In some embodiments of the present disclosure, the battery module includes a charging port for charging the battery. The charging port is preferably provided on the battery housing. As a result, in the case of using a battery that can be recharged repeatedly, charging of the battery can be realized without removing the battery from the battery housing.

[0045] In some embodiments of the present disclosure, the battery has a cylindrical geometry.

[0046] In prior art designs, batteries arranged in a host part typically have a flat geometry so as to fit into the narrow internal space of the host part. Unlike the prior art, the  battery according to the present disclosure may be constructed in a cylindrical shape. The battery is mounted in a separate battery housing, which may have a relatively large volume. Since there are no volume constraints, a larger type of battery can accordingly be used. This not only reduces the cost, but also allows the use of batteries with a larger electrical capacity. Of course, in addition to cylindrical batteries, other geometries can also be considered.

[0047] The hook section further includes a connector electrically conductively connected to one end of the electrical conductor.

[0048] According to one or more embodiments of the present disclosure, the connector is constructed as a coaxial connector. Alternatively, the connector is constructed as a magnetic connector or a snap-fit connector.

[0049] According to one embodiment of the present disclosure, the first end of the hook section provides the connector, wherein the main body module includes a matching connector cooperatively interacted with the connector, by means of the connector and the matching connector enable a detachable connection of the first end of the hook section with the main body module.

[0050] According to another embodiment of the present disclosure, the second end of the hook section provides the connector, wherein the battery module includes a matching connector cooperatively interacted with the connector, by means of the connector and the matching connector enable a detachable connection of the second end of the hook section with the battery module.

[0051] According to one or more embodiments of the present disclosure, the hook section includes a flexible jacket, wherein the electrical conductor is encased by the jacket. Alternatively, the hook section further includes a support member encased by the jacket, wherein the support member is constructed as a plastic deformable longitudinal element. With the help of the support member could achieve a better mechanical support for the hook section.

[0052] Fig. 1 schematically illustrates a use of a headphone device 10 according to the present disclosure. As shown in FIG. 1, the headphone device 10 is constructed as an ear-hanging headphone comprising an elongated hook section 12, a main body module 14 attached to one end of the hook section 12, and a battery module 16 attached to the other end of the hook section 12. An audio opening of the headphone device 10 is normally positioned within the  main body module 14 of the headphone device 10. In the wearing position of the headphone, i.e., when the headphone device 10 is worn by a wearer, the hook section 12 of the headphone device 10 hanged from above at the auricle of the wearer, wherein the main body module 14 having the audio opening extends into the ear and / or facing toward an ear canal of the wearer, the battery module 16 hangs behind the wearer’s auricle. As a result, the separate arrangement of the main body module 14 and the battery module 16 achieves a better weight distribution of the headphone device 10 as a whole.

[0053] The hook section 12 is constructed as a longitudinally extending segment with a first end 124 and a second end 126 disposed opposite thereof. The hook section 12 includes a jacket 120 made of a flexible material and an electrical conductor 122 encased by the jacket 120. The electrical conductor 122 extends between the first end 124 and the second end 124, thereby enabling an electrical conductive connection between the main body module 14 and the battery module 16.

[0054] Fig. 2 to Fig. 5 schematically illustrate a headphone device 10 according to one embodiment of the present disclosure.

[0055] The headphone device 10 comprises a longitudinally extending hook section 12. The electrical conductor 122 extending from the first end 124 to the second end 126 is arranged in the jacket 120 of the hook section. Alternatively, a support member for example made of steel wire further is arranged in the inner space defined by the jacket 120. The support member is capable of plastic deformation so that the shape of the hook section 12 can be adjusted according to the needs of the wearer.
