[0027] Embodiments of the present disclosure provide enhancements for reporting in cellular communication networks, in particular for event-based reporting. More specifically, embodiments of the present disclosure enable event-based reporting at least for Lower-layer Triggered Mobility, LTM, and beam management, e.g., for Multiple- Input Multiple-Output, MIMO. At least one reference resource may be determined by a User Equipment, UE, and the UE may then determine whether to perform said eventbased reporting based on the at least one reference resource, thereby enabling event-based reporting at least for LTM and / or beam management.
[0028] FIG. 1 illustrates an example of a network scenario in accordance with at least some example embodiments. According to the example scenario of FIG. 1, there may be a beam-based wireless communication system, which comprises UE 110, wireless network node 120 and core network element 130. UE 110 may be connected to wireless network node 120 via air interface using beams 115, either simultaneously or one at a time.
[0029] UE 110 may comprise, for example, a smartphone, a cellular phone, a Machine-to-Machine, M2M, node, Machine-Type Communications, MTC, node, an Internet of Things, loT, node, a car telemetry unit, a laptop computer, a tablet computer or, indeed, any kind of suitable wireless terminal. In the example system of FIG. 1, UE 110 may communicate wirelessly with wireless network node 120 via at least one beam 115. Wireless network node 120 may be considered as a serving node for UE 110 and one cell of wireless network node 120 may be a serving cell for UE 110.
[0030] Example embodiments of the present disclosure may be applied at least in mobility scenarios, wherein the serving cell of wireless network node 120 may be a source cell for a handover of UE 110 and the network scenario further comprises at least one other wireless network node with at least one target or a candidate cell for the handover. In addition, example embodiments of the present disclosure may be applied, e.g., for Beam Management, BM, in case of MIMO.
[0031] Air interface between UE 110 and wireless network node 120 may be configured in accordance with a Radio Access Technology, RAT, which both UE 110 and wireless network node 120 are configured to support. Examples of cellular RATs include Long Term Evolution, LTE, New Radio, NR, which may also be known as fifth generation, 5G, radio access technology, 6G radio access technology, and MulteFire.
[0032] For example in the context of LTE, wireless network node 120 may be referred to as eNB while wireless network node 120 may be referred to as gNB in the context of NR. In some example embodiments, wireless network node 120 may be referred to as a Transmission and Reception Point, TRP, or control multiple TRPs that may be co-located or non-co-located. In any case, example embodiments of the present disclosure are not restricted to any particular wireless technology. Instead, example embodiments may be exploited in any beam-based wireless communication system, wherein event-based reporting would be beneficial.
[0033] Wireless network node 120 may be connected, directly or via at least one intermediate node, with core network 130 via interface 125. Core network 130 may be, in turn, coupled via interface 135 with another network (not shown in FIG. 1), via which connectivity to further networks may be obtained, for example via a worldwide interconnection network. Wireless network node 120 may be connected, directly or via at least one intermediate node, with core network 130 or with another core network.
[0034] In some example embodiments, the network scenario may comprise a relay node instead of, or in addition to, UE 110 and / or wireless network node 120. Relaying may be used for example when operating on millimeter-wave frequencies. One example of the relay node may be an Integrated Access and Backhaul, IAB, node. The IAB node may be referred to as a self-backhauling relay as well. Another example of a relay may be an out-band relay. In general, the relay node may comprise two parts:1) Distributed Unit, DU, part which may facilitate functionalities of wireless network node 120, such as a gNB. Thus, in some example embodiments, the DU part of a relay may be referred to as wireless network node 120 and the DU may perform tasks of wireless network node 120;2) Mobile Termination, MT, part which may facilitate functionalities of UE 110, i.e., a backhaul link which may be the communication link between a parent node (DU), such as a DU part of wireless network node 120, and the relay, such as an IAB node. In some example embodiments, the MT part may be referred to as UE 110 and perform tasks of UE 110.
[0035] In some example embodiments, Quasi Co-Location, QCL, indication functionality may be exploited for beam management. Two antenna ports / reference signals may be considered as quasi co-located, QCL’ed, if properties of a channel over which a symbol is transmitted via a first antenna port can be derived from a channel over which a symbol is transmitted via a second antenna port. Regarding downlink beam indication, QCL indication functionality may be defined as follows. The principle to receive a certain physical signal or physical channel may be that UE 110 is either configured with, or UE 110 implicitly determines, a source / reference Reference Signal, RS, that UE 110 has received and measured earlier which defines how to set a receive beam of UE 110 for the reception of the downlink (target) physical signal or channel to be received. To provide UE 110 with QCL characteristics for the target signal (to be received) a Transmission Configuration Indicator, TCI, framework may be used.
[0036] According to the TCI framework, UE 110 may be configured with TCI state(s) to provide UE 110 with source RS(s) for determining QCL characteristics. Each TCI state may include for example one or two source RSs that provide QCL TypeA, TypeB, TypeC and / or TypeD parameters to UE 110, e.g., as follows:• QCL-TypeA: {Doppler shift, Doppler spread, average delay, delay spread}• QCL-TypeB: {Doppler shift, Doppler spread}• QCL-TypeC: {Doppler shift, average delay}• QCL-TypeD: {Spatial Rx parameter}
[0037] Example embodiments of the present disclosure provide enhancements for reporting of UE 110, in particular for event-based reporting. Example embodiments of the present disclosure provide at least mobility enhancements and enable support forevent-based LTM reporting configuration along with measurement reporting. In case of event-based reporting, UE 110 may determine whether at least one criterion for said-event based reporting is fulfilled and if so, transmit a report to wireless network node 120. Event-based reporting may be referred to as event-triggered reporting as well. LTM may comprise at least one Layer 1, LI, or Layer 2, L2, triggered mobility. LTM may be referred to as L1 / L2 triggered mobility.
[0038] The at least one criterion may be specified in a reporting configuration, e.g., ReportConfigNR. The at least one criterion may be for triggering an NR measurement event or of a Conditional Handover, CHO, a Conditional Primary Secondary Cell, PSCell, Addition, CPA, or a Conditional PSCell Change, CPC, event or of an L2 U2N relay measurement reporting event. In case of event-based reporting, it would be beneficial to determine which type of events to define. That is, it would be beneficial to define events that may lead to one or more actions of UE 110 related to event-based reporting. Mobility measurement reporting events may be based, e.g., on quality comparison between a first and a second resource (such as a signal) or resource sets (e.g., signals). The quality comparison may be used by UE 110 to determine whether to trigger a reporting event or some other action of UE 110, i.e., to determine whether at least one criterion is fulfilled. As an example, the criterion may be the A3 event, i.e., neighbour cell becomes offset better than serving cell. Alternatively, or additionally the criterion may be defined so that UE 110 compares a resource to a specific threshold value (like signal quality) and reports channel measurements if the quality is above or below the specific threshold value (e.g., the A4 and / or A5 events).
[0039] For LTM, or for beam management, event-based reporting is not currently supported. For example, it may be unclear which RS(s) of the current serving cell are to be used for comparison against the quality of candidate RS(s).Example embodiments of the present disclosure enable for example introduction of eventbased reporting to Layer 1 framework, i.e., beam management and LTM framework. In addition, example embodiments of the present disclosure provide at least BM / MIMO enhancements and enable facilitation of UE-initiated / event-driven beam management for reducing overhead and / or latency. In some example embodiments, a unified TCI may be assumed while leveraging (as much as possible) legacy Channel State Information, CSI, measurement and reporting configuration frameworks. Example embodiments of thepresent disclosure therefore provide enhancements for leveraging and / or enhancing at least LTM and BM / MIMO frameworks.
[0040] UE 110 may receive a reporting configuration from wireless network node 120, the reporting configuration comprising at least one parameter associated with at least one reference resource for event-based reporting. The reporting configuration may be for event-based reporting of Layer 1 measurements. The reporting configuration may comprise a parameter for reference resource configuration, to be used by UE 110 for determining whether the at least one criterion (i.e., event-triggered reporting condition) is fulfilled. In some example embodiments, the at least one parameter may be a configurable reference resource parameter.
[0041] UE 110 may determine the at least one reference resource for event-based reporting based on the at least one parameter. That is, the at least one reference resource may be based on the reporting configuration of one of the options as reference resource(s). UE 110 may further determine, based at least on the at least one reference resource, whether the at least one criterion for said event-based reporting is fulfilled. That is, UE 110 may apply the at least one reference resource for determining whether the at least one criterion for event-based reporting is fulfilled and report channel measurements when the at least one criterion is fulfilled. The reference resource may thus be associated with the at least one parameter, like an event type parameter, provisioned or associated with the reporting configuration.
[0042] The at last one parameter (or in some cases absence of it) enables UE 110 to determine the reference resource(s) of the current serving cell of UE 110, wherein the reference resource(s) are to be used for comparison against the candidate RSs. In some example embodiments, the at least one parameter (or in some cases absence of it) enables UE 110 to determine the reference resource(s) of the candidate cell, wherein the reference resource(s) are to be used for comparison against the other candidate RSs (of the same cell or different cells).
[0043] In some example embodiments, wireless network node 120 may transmit a lower layer message, such as a downlink control message, to UE 110 to reconfigure / overwrite the current reference resource configuration, i.e., the previously received reporting configuration. The downlink control message may comprise aDownlink Control Information, DCI, and / or a Medium Access Control Control Element, MAC CE.
[0044] In some example embodiments, the at least one reference resource may be conditionally changed based on one or more configurations, such as TCI state activation and / or indication.
[0045] In some example embodiments, the at least one parameter associated with at least one reference resource for event-based reporting may be configured by wireless network node 120 via Radio Resource Control, RRC, signaling. That is, UE 110 may receive the reporting configuration comprising the at least one parameter from wireless network node 120 via RRC signaling.
[0046] The at least one parameter may be thus used to configure at least one specific reference resource, e.g., for the event triggered Layer 1 reporting configuration. Alternatively, the at least one parameter may be used by wireless network node 120 to configure information, which may be further used by UE 110 to determine the at least one reference resource for further evaluation of the at least one criterion. UE 110 may determine whether event-based reporting of Layer 1 measurements is fulfilled using use the at least one criterion. UE 110 may for example apply or evaluate the at least one criterion, e.g., by comparing the reference resource to another resource. The reporting configuration may thus comprise the at least one parameter that configures UE 110 with at least one reference resource for event-based reporting.
[0047] In some example embodiments, the at least one reference resource may comprise at least one of the following parameter options, wherein one of the one or more parameters may be configured / selected for the reporting configuration. As an example, examples of information element structures may comprise at least one of:• CSI-Report-Config-Event (LTM):• CSI-Report-Event-ID• Reference Resource:• CSLresource-set ID / indication that it is the same as resource set ID for channel measurements;• Reference resource set ID;• Serving Cell beam management resource set ID;• The resource (set) that consists of the TCI State / Indicated TCI state (TCI state / RS included in the TCI State or the QCL source RS of the RS included the TCI State) for the serving cell;• Signal-quality-Threshold value; or• The resource (set) that consists of the TCI State / Indicated TCI state (TCI state / RS included in the TCI State or the QCL source RS of the RS included the TCI State) for the candidate cell.
[0048] In some example embodiments, the at least one reference resource may be related to a CSI resource set Identifier, ID. That is, the at least one parameter may comprise at least one CSI-resource set ID. The CSI resource set ID may comprise information about the at least one reference resource for determining event-based reporting. UE 110 may determine, based on the CSI resource set ID, one or more RSs associated with a serving cell as the at least one reference resource. Hence, UE 110 may be configured to determine said one or more RSs included in the CSI resource set ID that are associated with the serving cell of wireless network node 120, e.g., a Physical Cell Identifier, PCI, of the serving cell, to be the at least one reference resource. The RSs not associated with the PCI of the serving cell may be compared to the at least one reference resource. UE 110 may thus compare RSs not associated with the serving cell with said one or more RSs associated with the serving cell. For example, CSI resource set ID may be [{SSB1, SSB2}, (PCI0, serving); {SSB1, SSB2} (PCI1); {SSB1, SSB2}, (PCI2)}. SSB is for synchronization signal block. UE 110 may determine, based on said comparison, whether the at least one criterion for said event-based reporting is fulfilled. In some example embodiments, UE 110 may use an average of -highest quality) RSs (SSB1 / SSB2 of PCI0) as the at least one reference resource and compare, per PCI, to determine whether the at least one criterion to report is fulfilled.
[0049] In some example embodiments, the at least one reference resource may be an explicitly configured resource set referred by the CSI resource set ID. That is, the reporting configuration may comprise two kinds of CSI resource set IDs, at least one CSI resource set for channel measurements and another set for reference resource(s). The at least one parameter may comprise two parameters: CSI resource set ID for channel measurements and CSI resource set ID for reference resource(s). The reporting configuration may comprise the CSI resource set ID (or multiple) for channel measurements and a specific CSI resource set ID identifying resource(s) which isconfigured as the at least one reference resource, i.e., a set of reference resources. The latter, the specific CSI resource set ID (CSI-resource-set ID) may identify resources and all these resources may be configured as the reference resource or reference resource set. UE 110 may determine one or more RSs (e.g. all RSs) indicated by the CSI resource set ID as the at least one reference resource (or as reference resource set). UE 110 may be configured to use the at least one CSI reference resource set ID to determine the at least one RS as a reference for determining whether the at least one criterion to report is fulfilled. That is, UE 110 may compare RSs associated with the CSI resource set ID for channel measurements with said one or more RSs and determine, based on said comparison, whether the at least one criterion for said event-based reporting is fulfilled.
[0050] In some example embodiments, the at least one reference resource may be an explicitly configured resource set referred by a CSI resource configuration ID, wherein the at least one resource set may be configured for BM, such as serving cell BM. The at least one RS may thus be at least one resource configured for serving cell BM. The at least one parameter may comprise at least one serving cell BM resource set ID and the at least one reference resource may be at least one resource configured for serving cell BM as indicated by the at least one serving cell BM resource set ID.
[0051] It is noted that resource set, resource configuration set, and resource configuration may be used interchangeably. For example, CSI resource set ID, CSI resource configuration set ID and CSI resource configuration ID may be used interchangeably. That is, even if one of these features would be mentioned in an example embodiment, it may be replaced with another and used similarly.
[0052] In some example embodiments, the at least one reference resource may be a TCI State, more specifically an indicated or activated TCI state of UE 110. That is, the at least one parameter may comprise the indicated or activated TCI state and UE 110 may determine the at least one reference resource based on one or more RSs included in the indicated or activated TCI state. In some example embodiments, the at least one reference resource may be determined by UE 110 based on the RS included in the TCI state which is currently the activated or indicated TCI state or the QCL source RS of the RS included the TCI state. In some example embodiments, the RS#1 (e.g. SSB or CSI-RS) included in the TCI state may be selected as the reference resource. In some examples, the RS#1 (e.g. SSB or CSI-RS) included in the TCI state may have a quasi -colocation source RS of RS#2 (e.g. SSB or other CSI-RS) which may be selected as the reference resource. Insome example embodiments, if more than one RS is included in the TCI State, the QCL- typeD (e.g. spatial RX, i.e., that same RX beam assumption can be used by the UE to receive reference signal having the same QCL assumption typeD) RS is used / selected.
[0053] In some example embodiments, the at least reference resource configuration may comprise a signal quality threshold, e.g. a Reference Signal Received Power, RSRP, -threshold or Signal-to-Interference and Noise Ratio, SINR, -threshold. That is, the at least one parameter may comprise the signal quality threshold.
[0054] In some example embodiments, the at least one reference resource may be a TCI state, e.g., the indicated or activated TCI state for the candidate cell. The TCI state, i.e., the RS included in the TCI state, may be the at least one reference resource. The TCI state may be compared by UE 110 to candidate cell resources provided, e.g., in an LTM resource configuration for a same candidate cell for a handover as the activated TCI state. In some example embodiments, in case of absence of the at least one parameter in of the reporting configuration, UE 110 may determine an event specific reference resource, e.g., as follows:• UE 110 may determine that the at least one reference resource is at least one RS of the serving cell configured in a (CSI) resource configuration by wireless network node 120. Wireless network node 120 may indicate the at least one RS in the reporting configuration;• UE 110 may determine the at least one reference resource to be at least one RS included in the indicated or activated TCI state of a current serving cell of UE 110; or• UE 110 may determine the at least one reference resource based on whether a cell inclusion parameter, such as a SpCelllnclusion parameter, is configured or not in the reporting configuration. For example, if the SpCelllnclusion parameter is configured, UE 110 may determine that the at least one reference resource is at least one RS of the serving cell, configured in a CSI resource configuration and indicated by the reporting configuration. Otherwise, UE 110 may determine the at least one reference resource to be at least one RS included in the indicated or activated TCI state of a current serving cell of UE 110.
[0055] UE 110 may thus receive the reporting configuration for at least one reference resource from wireless network node 120. UE 110 further determine, depending on whether the reporting configuration comprises at least one parameter for event-basedreporting, at least one reference resource for event-based reporting and determine, based at least on the at least one reference resource, whether at least one criterion for said eventbased reporting is fulfilled. In case of absence of the at least one parameter in the reporting configuration, UE 110 may determine that the reporting configuration does not comprise the at least one parameter and determine the at least one reference resource based on one of:• serving cell RSs configured in the reporting configuration;• RSs of an indicated or activated TCI state of the current serving cell of UE 110;• if a cell inclusion parameter, such as SpCelllnclusion parameter, is configured, serving cell RSs configured in the reporting configuration;• if a cell inclusion parameter, such as a SpCelllnclusion parameter, is not configured, RSs of an indicated or activated TCI state of the current serving cell ofUE 110.
[0056] In some example embodiment, following events (or event criteria) may be defined based on the configuration and determination of reference signals based on the reference resource:Event A: specific one or specific N RSs based on reference resource become(s) better than a quality threshold;Event A-l : at least one / any RSs based on reference resource becomes better than a quality threshold;Event B: specific one or specific N RSs based on reference resource becomes better than a quality threshold;Event B-l : at least one / any RSs based on reference resource becomes worse than a quality threshold;Event C: at least one RS of a candidate cell becomes amount of offset better than a specific one or specific N RSs of a reference resource;Event C-l : a set of RS of candidate cell becomes amount of offset better than a set of RSs based on reference resource;
[0057] In some example embodiments, the specific RS may mean a RS with a particular RS identifier. Particular RS identifiers may be given, for example, in configuration(s) from the network.
[0058] In some example embodiments, the specific N reference signal may mean a set of N RS identifiers (i.e. all N RSs fulfilled the event criteria).
[0059] In some example embodiments, the at least one / any reference signal may mean that for at least one (event) criterion to be fulfilled, any of the RSs (of a reference resource) may be used for the evaluation of the at least one criterion.
[0060] In some example embodiments, a set of RSs may mean that any of the RSs or a consolidated value (such as an averaged value) formed based on the set of RS fulfils the at least one criterion.
[0061] Wireless network node 120 may determine the at least one reference resource for UE 110, for event-based reporting and also determine whether to include the at least one parameter associated with the at least one reference resource to the reporting configuration. Wireless network node 120 may then transmit the reporting configuration to UE 110.
[0062] In some example embodiments, a downlink control message, possibly comprising a DCI and / or a MAC CE, may be used by wireless network node 120 to indicate to UE 110 the at least one reference resource, such as a reference resource or a reference resource set, for a reporting configuration. The downlink control message may include the information of the at least one reference resource, e.g., a resource set ID or resource ID(s) for event-based reporting. Additionally, the downlink control message may comprise an identification of the report configuration, e.g., when there are multiple report configurations for event-based reporting.
[0063] The downlink control message may be used wireless network node 120 to overwrite the previously transmitted reporting configuration. UE 110 may hence receive the downlink control message from wireless network node 120 after receiving the reporting configuration, the downlink control message indicating at least one other reference resource. UE 110 may then determine, based at least on the at least one other reference resource, whether to perform said event-based reporting.
[0064] FIG. 2 illustrates a signaling diagram in accordance with at least some example embodiments. On the vertical axes are disposed, from the left to the right, UE 110 and wireless network node 120. Time advances from the top towards the bottom.
[0065] At step 210, wireless network node 120 may determine at least one reference resource for UE 110, for event-based reporting. Wireless network node 120 may also determine the at least one parameter associated with the at least one reference resource. At step 220, wireless network node 120 may transmit a reporting configuration to UE 110, the reporting configuration comprising the at least one parameter. The reporting configuration may be an RRC event-based reporting configuration, i.e., a reference resource configuration for evaluating at least one criterion for event-based reporting by UE 110. UE 110 thus may, at step 220, receive the reporting configuration from wireless network node 120.
[0066] At step 230, UE 110 may determine, based on the at least one parameter, the at least one reference resource for event-based reporting. The reporting configuration may comprise an information element, IE, comprising the at least one parameter. The at least one parameter may, for example, explicitly indicate the reference resource(s). As another example, the reference resource(s) may be implicitly indicated by the at last one parameter.
[0067] As an example of an explicit indication, the at least one parameter may indicate the reference resource ID or reference resource set ID.
[0068] As an example of an implicit indication, the at least one parameter may indicate CSI resource set ID. The CSI resource set may comprise one or more RSs. Some of the RSs may be associated with the serving cell. Some of the RSs might not be associated with the serving cell. Some of the reference signals might be associated with the one or more candidate cells. Then, UE 110 may be configured to determine that one or more RSs associated with the serving cell are to be used as the reference resource(s).
[0069] As another example of an implicit indication, the IE reserved for the at least one parameter in the reporting configuration might be empty or might be absent. In that case, UE 110 may be configured to determine the reference resource in a specified way, which is described above.
[0070] In some example embodiments, UE 110 may apply a reference resource configuration in the RRC reporting configuration and determine the at least one reference resource based on an CSI resource set ID. UE 110 may evaluate the at least one criterion using at least one RS of the serving cell as the at least one reference resource. The at least one RS of the serving cell may be included in the CSI resource set ID, wherein the CSIresource set ID may be associated with the reporting configuration as the at least one reference resource. Hence, UE 110 may determine, based on the CSI resource set ID, one or more RSs associated with the serving cell as the at least one reference resource. UE 110 may further compare RSs not associated with the serving cell with said one or more RSs associated with the serving cell and determine, based on said comparison, whether the at least one criterion for said event-based reporting is fulfilled.
[0071] In some example embodiments, UE 110 may apply a reference resource configuration in the RRC reporting configuration and determine the at least one reference resource based on an CSI resource set ID. UE 110 may evaluate the at least one criterion using at least one RS in the CSI reference resource set as the at least one reference resource. Hence, UE 110 may determine one or more RSs indicated by the CSI resource set ID as the at least one reference resource. UE 110 may further compare RSs associated with the CSI-Resource-set identifier for channel measurements with said one or more RSs and determine, based on said comparison, whether the at least one criterion for said eventbased reporting is fulfilled.
[0072] In some example embodiments, UE 110 may apply a reference resource configuration in the RRC reporting configuration and determine the at least one reference resource based on a serving cell BM resource set ID. UE 110 may evaluate the at least one criterion using at least one RS included in the serving cell BM resource set ID. The at least one reference resource may thus be at least one resource configured for serving cell BM, as indicated by the at least one serving cell BM resource set ID.
[0073] In some example embodiments, UE 110 may apply a reference resource configuration in the RRC reporting configuration and determine the at least one reference resource based on a TCI state ID of a serving cell of UE 110. UE 110 may evaluate the at least one criterion using at least one RS (providing a QCL assumption) or QCL source RS of the RS included in the indicated or activated TCI state ID of the serving cell. Hence, UE 110 may determine the at least one reference resource based on one or more RSs included in the indicated or activated TCI state of the serving cell of UE 110.
[0074] In some example embodiments, UE 110 may apply a reference resource configuration in the RRC reporting configuration and determine the at least one reference resource based on a signal quality threshold value. UE 110 may evaluate the at least one criterion using the signal quality threshold value as a reference value.
[0075] In some example embodiments, UE 110 may apply a reference resource configuration in the RRC reporting configuration and determine the at least one reference resource based on a TCI state ID of a candidate cell for a handover. UE 110 may evaluate the at least one criterion using at least one RS (providing a QCL assumption) or QCL source RS of the RS included in the indicated or activated TCI state ID of the candidate cell. Hence, UE 110 may determine the at least one reference resource based on one or more RSs included in the indicated or activated TCI state of the candidate cell.
[0076] At step 240, UE 110 may determine whether to report channel measurements. UE 110 may determine, based at least on the at least one reference resource, whether at least one criterion for said event-based reporting is fulfilled, i.e., whether UE 110 is to perform said event-based reporting. At step 250, UE 110 may transmit to wireless network node 120 a measurement report, e.g., channel measurement report, if UE 110 has determined that the at least one criterion for said event-based reporting is fulfilled. UE 110 may refrain from transmitting the measurement report if UE 110 has determined that none of the criteria for said event-based reporting is fulfilled or pre-determined number of criteria is not fulfilled. It may be specified in standard specifications how many criteria need to be fulfilled to cause the UE to perform the eventbased reporting.
[0077] At step 260, wireless network node 120 may transmit a downlink control message to UE 110. The downlink control message may for example comprise a MAC CE to indicate to UE 110 at least one other reference resource, to overwrite the reporting configuration transmitted at step 220. The MAC CE may indicate an RRC configured at least one reference resource for evaluating whether the at least one criterion is fulfilled. UE 110 may thus receive the downlink control message after receiving the reporting configuration at step 220, the downlink control message indicating the at least one other reference resource.
[0078] At step 270, UE 110 may determine the at least one other reference resource based on the received downlink control message. At step 280, UE 110 may determine, based at least on the at least one other reference resource, whether to perform said eventbased reporting. For example, UE 110 may apply the at least one other reference resource indicated by the MAC CE and evaluate whether the at least one criterion is fulfilled.
[0079] At step 290, UE 110 may transmit to wireless network node 120 a channel measurement report if UE 110 has determined that the at least one criterion for said eventbased reporting is fulfilled.
[0080] Example embodiments of the present disclosure therefore enable configuration flexibility for the network along with lower layer signaling. In addition, change of reference resource(s) is enabled to provide dynamic configuration of reference resource(s). Thus, example embodiments of the present disclosure provide enhancements for reporting in cellular communication networks, in particular for event-based reporting.
