Each irrigation system includes a mulch film 20 and drip pipes 22 attached to a lower side of the film. When deployed over a terrain, the drip pipes are placed upon the terrain with the mulch film covering both the drip pipes and the terrain.

In a non-deployed state, the mulch films can be rolled on themselves to assume a rolled-up compact and easily transportable configuration. Claims
CLAIMS:
1. An irrigation system comprising a mulch film and drip irrigation pipes atached to a lower side of the mulch film, wherein each drip pipe comprises visible markings extending along its upper side where it is generally atached to the mulch film and drip emiters located along its lower side.
2. The irrigation system of claim 1, wherein when laid upon a ground face the lower side of the mulch film is adapted to face the ground face.
3. The irrigation system of claim 1 or 2, wherein the mulch film in a deployed state upon a ground face has a generally rectangular shape and the drip irrigation pipes extend along a longitudinal extension of the mulch film.
4. The irrigation system of claim 3, wherein at least some of the drip pipes are spaced apart one from the other in a lateral direction of the mulch film that is orthogonal to its longitudinal extension.
5. The irrigation system of any one of the preceding claims, wherein the drip irrigation pipes are divided into at least two groups of pipes that can be independently controlled to provide irrigation.
6. The irrigation system of claim 5, wherein adjacent laterally spaced apart drip pipes belong to different groups.
7. The irrigation system of claim 5 or 6, wherein positioning of drip emiters along drip pipes of different groups is arranged in an alternating patern.
8. The irrigation system of any one of claims 5 to 7 and comprising pairs of non- laterally spaced apart drip pipes that extend adjacently one alongside the other.
9. The irrigation system of claim 8, wherein adjacent drip pipe of a pair belong to different groups.
10. The irrigation system of any one of claims 5 to 10, wherein drip pipes of different groups comprise different markings.
11. A method of irrigating comprising the steps of: providing an irrigation system comprising a mulch film and drip irrigation pipes attached to a lower side of the mulch film, wherein each drip pipe comprises visible markings extending along its upper side where it is generally attached to the mulch film and drip emitters located along its lower side, and placing the mulch film upon a ground face with its lower side facing the ground face.
12. The method of claim 11, wherein the mulch film in a deployed state upon a ground face has a generally rectangular shape and the drip irrigation pipes extend along a longitudinal extension of the mulch film.
13. The method of claim 12, wherein at least some of the drip pipes are spaced apart one from the other in a lateral direction of the mulch film that is orthogonal to its longitudinal extension.
14. The method of any one of claims 11 to 13, wherein the drip irrigation pipes are divided into at least two groups of pipes that can be independently controlled to provide irrigation.
15. The method of claim 14, wherein adjacent laterally spaced apart drip pipes belong to different groups.
16. The method of claim 14 or 15, wherein positioning of the drip emitters along drip pipes of different groups is arranged in an alternating pattern.
17. The method of any one of claims 14 to 16 and comprising pairs of non- laterally spaced apart drip pipes that extend one alongside the other.
18. The method of claim 17, wherein adjacent drip pipe of a pair belong to different groups.
19. The method of any one of claims 14 to 18, wherein drip pipes of different groups comprise different markings.
